Youtube daily report Jun 1 2018

Get read to hit the streets,

...Again,

And turn the beat back,

Cody's coming soon to Street Fighter V.

I'm Al Baldino, and this is Frequency,

from Turtle Beach.

At the end of the Combobreaker 2018 Street Fighter V tournament,

Capcom revealed the trailer for the next season 3 character to be released for the hit fighting game series.

Cody Travers,

The heroic vigilante of Final Fight, turned disgraced criminal in Street Fighter.

After serving his time in the slammer,

Cody appears to turned over a new leaf and is now the new mayor of Metro City,

Taking over for his one-time partner,

Mike Haggar.

Not one for paperwork, Cody returns to the world of street fighting,

And looks to relieve his boredom by battling the best in the world.

Cody's reveal was taken to the next level as compared to previous trailers,

And opened with a live action segment starring New Japan Pro-Wrestling's Kenny Omega

As the new mayor himself, in an homage to the opening of Final Fight.

Before going into the gameplay footage.

While many of Cody's classic moves return,

His fighting style looks to be quite different than it was in Street Fighter Alpha 3 and Super Street Fighter IV.

He now has a fireball attack, "Tornado Sweep,"

And his V-Skill, "Double Kick," is a callback to his special move in Final Fight,

And is able to hit opponents on either side of him.

While Cody's classic "Criminal Upper" move is missing from the game,

His Critical Art, "Criminal Punisher,"

Hearkens back to it with a devastating, tornado generating uppercut,

That sends his opponents flying.

Cody's first V-Trigger, "Sidearm," brings back the trusty knife,

Increasing his attack range,

And granting him a knife throw that gives him another ranged option.

While holding the knife, Cody has a unique special move, "Rapid Fire,"

Where he performs multiple slashes on his opponent, knocking them to the ground.

His second V-Trigger, "Dirty Coach,"

Has him wield a pipe, similar to Haggar in Marvel vs Capcom games.

Increasing his heavy punch range,

And granting him moves that allow him to swing the pipe like a Louisville Slugger.

And while Cody doesn't have his rock throw anymore,

He can now toss a rock in front of him while in V-Trigger II,

And send it flying forward, or upward,

By hitting it with the pipe.

What do you think of the changes to Cody in Street Fighter V?

Let us know in the comments below.

Today's track is "Tokyo Dinner" by Bayslick.

How To Get Your Crush and Old Friends To LIKE YOU Again - Duration: 4:35.

Heya playa, have you ever wanted to reconnect with someone that you've fallen out of touch

with?

A crush?

A friend?

A family member?

But first, you've wanted to show them that you've grown and changed over time?

Don't worry, in this video, I'm going to explain the importance of picking up a hobby and growing,

so stay tuned because I'm going to teach you how to do that right after this.

This is The Josh Speaks.

You're watching The Josh Speaks.

For those of you that are new here, my name is Josh and every single Monday through Friday

I make videos sharing tips, ideas and stories teaching you how to be your best self.

Now when it comes to picking up a hobby, I always recommend taking on something that's

going to push your boundaries and make you work a little bit harder but you're really

going to enjoy doing it.

For example, let's say everyone around you plays a sport.

There's really no purpose in picking up that sport if you're not going to enjoy doing it.

Even if it helps you get closer to those people because in the end, you're going to look at

that time and say "Wow, it really wasn't worth it for me".

And the same can be said about any hobby.

If you don't enjoy doing it, it really doesn't matter how close it gets you to other people.

Now you might be thinking, I don't really know what I want to do or what I'm going to

enjoy.

Well, that's where trial and error comes in.

It's ok to jump into things to try them out for a while to see if they work for you.

If you don't, don't feel like you need to stick with them until you like them because

that's now really how you find a hobby you love.

I go more in-depth in finding your path and your purpose in this video over here so let's

skip ahead a few steps and look at the benefits of finding a hobby that you love and allowing

yourself to grow with it.

You see, when it comes to reconnecting with a person they're going to assume that you're

different and you've grown from the last time you've interacted with them so you want to

showcase that growth.

You want them to see that you've learned things.

That you're experienced now and you're not the same person that you used to be.

One of the traps that people fall into is comparing themselves to other people.

This person's more successful, this person's more skilled, this person's smarter.

But instead, you should compare yourself to where you were back then.

See how much you personally have grown.

If you look at your old self and say "Wow, I've really become a different and more mature

person then that's a plus".

That way, when the person you're trying to reconnect see's you, they're not gonna say

"Yeah, you're still just the same awkward, creepy, silly weird, immature kind of person

you used to be".

Also, having a hobby lets you shape your identity a lot better.

Let's say you're taking karate, or going to Boy Scouts or joining a writing club or anything

of that nature, it helps sharpen your skills and makes you a more focused and determined

person unlike before where you spent a lot of your time playing video games, watching

TV and not really doing anything spectacular.

One of the major pitfalls that a lot of people fall into is a routine of boredom.

They don't really do anything extravagent, or fun, or exciting, or envigorating or any

of these adjectives with their lives so they just end up falling into this day to day,

every single day routine and then in the end they realize I haven't really accomplished

anything for myself.

And the person you're trying to reconnect with is definitely gonna pick up on that.

Let's say for example there's a girl that you asked out a long time ago but when you

did it you were shy and awkward and nervous about it and because of that she didn't really

want to go out with you.

Well, how have things changed exactly?

You might say that because you've taken on a new hobby, you've grown and learned new

things.

That's helped you become more mature, experienced and confident in yourself.

So when you do ask out that girl again, you want to showcase those elements of yourself

to her.

You want her to see that wow, he's not shy, he's not awkward, he's not nervous anymore.

He's really a different person, this is a different person that's approaching me to

talk.

Plus having a hobby that you're passionate about makes you sharper around the edges.

It gives you something to talk to them about and helps make you stand out more.

So whether you're trying to reconnect with a crush that you no longer talk to because

maybe they blocked you or old friends that you just kind of fell out of touch with, having

a hobby, finding your path and your purpose in life, working towards something and building

that sense of confidence in what you can accomplish is always going to help you reconnect better

with people.

But now I want to know, what do you think, what's one of your hobbies that you're super

passionate about or if you don't have a hobby, what's something you want to try doing?

Leave it down in the comments section below and we'll talk about it.

Otherwise thank you so much for watching.

I hope you enjoyed this video.

Hit the thumbs up button if you found it helpful and remember guys, my new book Embracing The

Awkward is available, you can check it out on Amazon.

Alot of these themes and topics about growing and learning are things I mention in this

book so if that's something you feel you want to do with your life, definitely check it

out.

The link is down there in the description below and on that note, I'll catch you guys

next week.

As always, love and peace.

(girls screaming) (eerie music)

- Hi! Welcome! It's great to see so many old faces here.

- So isn't that true,

kid committed suicide here or something?

- Yeah. Shelley Canter.

She was a hockey scholarship student.

She hung herself on our graduation day,

which was nice of her.

- I need to go to the bathroom.

(muffled party noise)

(woman's footsteps tapping)

(faucet flowing)

- Fierce,

silent Shelley.

You gonna say anythin'?

(bag thuds) You ever talk?

Been hiding again?

D'you ever speak?

Go on.

Say something.

(cloth rips)

Can you talk now? Huh?

(Shelley gagging)

Say one word.

- Get help!

Adult Store Employees Reveal Store Secrets - Duration: 3:30.

- Everybody has sex.

- Not me.

(laughing)

(upbeat instrumental music)

- When you come to a sex shop--

- Don't deep-throat a dildo.

- Spank each other.

- Not around us 'cause we didn't give you consent

and we don't wanna see it.

- People should act like an adult in an adult store.

- Save the shenanigans for your home.

- We love you, we love the fact that you wanna buy

all this stuff and that you're so excited to try it,

but try it at home.

- What about that guy who used his wife's card

to buy his girlfriend something?

- My favorite story so far is a person

who came in and purchased lube,

which I was so excited for because it's

one of those things that people gloss over.

However, he also asked to use the bathroom

and knocked on the door and heard noises

that I was not prepared to hear.

It's just really awkward after that,

so just don't masturbate in public bathrooms please.

- We'll miss you.

- People used to go to the bathroom and then we would

be missing, you know, displays of butt plugs.

Like hiding toys in their bodies and then leaving

and walking out of the store.

Like, A+ for effort, I guess,

but a F- on the fact that it's a display toy.

I don't wanna shame anybody but everybody

in New York touches our toys.

You're gonna want a clean one before you do that anyway,

and lubricant, I'm sure they didn't do it with lube.

- Everybody is different, everybody's body's different,

so it's good to go to stores because you can get educated,

you can see and feel things.

It's different from looking online

because it could look like it's this small

and then in person it's, like, so big.

- Pro tip, testing the vibrators on your nose

will be similar to the nerve sensitivity of,

like, your other bits.

- Don't feel ashamed.

Nobody's gonna judge you and even if there's

customers in there, they're in there too

so they're not gonna judge you

because they're in there too.

Just feel, like, calm and at ease.

Like, we're here for you, what do you wanna buy?

- Folks come in and try to purchase services

other than the education of sex toys.

Do not ask if we have the toys, if we use the toys.

It'd be kind of silly if we worked in a sex shop

and didn't have any toys for many, many reasons.

You know, we all gotta benefit somehow.

- You know, ask questions respectfully.

Don't ask me what my favorite thing is

because I guarantee you we're not on the same wavelength.

- We may know that you are looking for a butt plug,

but I don't know your last name so let's keep it there.

- We're here to sell you things,

help us out help you find out what you want

because we just met you.

The Story Of Frieza's Other HALF Just Revealed in Dragon Ball Super! Goku UNCOVERS the TRUTH! - Duration: 11:32.

Even though you could easily argue that Frieza is the most evil villain Goku has ever had

to face, it's getting harder and harder to say he'll always be that way,

because he's already saved billions of innocent lives.

Turning him into Goku's most needed ally.

Especially during a rare act of kindness, when Frieza was forced out of hiding.

With his agreement obvious, Frieza put the weight of Universe 7's survival

on his own shoulders.

It was a sight no one thought we'd ever see, and yet,

it was a side of Frieza we couldn't wait to see more of.

But what stood out even more than Frieza's unselfishness was the new technique that he

had just tapped into.

A technique so impressive and so strong, it can take on power equal to that of a god,

and squash it.

I'm having a special giveaway of $1000 for the #ANIFAM members!

Best way to win is clicking the notification bell!

I'll wait for 3 seconds.

3

2

More details in pinned comment and description.

And...1!

Somehow, Goku had managed the impossible.

But that didn't mean challenges weren't still standing in his way of victory.

To take those obstacles down, he turned to this technique

that he had finally mastered during his time in the World of Void,

and shared it with the most unlikely of teammates.

It was with this technique that he and Frieza forced the mortal stronger than his God of

Destruction to understand why Goku and his friends just wouldn't stop trying.

With their flawless teamwork giving Frieza the title of Universe 7's hero, we were

given a really important question to ask ourselves.

Is Frieza turning good?

It's easy to say to yes when almost the last thing we saw was of him

helping Goku save the Universe.

But it's just as easy to say no when the very last thing we saw was of him

joining back up with his army.

But when you focus to much on only one side of this argument,

that's when you get into some trouble.

And being as evil as he is, Frieza was never considered to help in this

battle in the first place.

It was only when Goku ran into some unlucky events that he was forced to face the only

option he had.

Curious as to why, of all the people in the entire world, Goku was the one to come visiting,

Frieza knew he already had the upper hand.

Only desperation could bring Goku down here.

But just as quickly as he had been cut down from his tree, the tables of desperation had

turned.

Only one thing could get Frieza to fight like he actually cared.

This was the same person who, for the sake of showing off his powers, trying to scare

his enemies, had obliterated his own, loyal, army.

And these same selfish motives that got him to join the team

were brought back over and over again throughout the tournament.

In everything Frieza did, there were 2 sides to the story.

For instance, after sneaking Goku's fragile body away, Frieza returned the ultimate favor.

But what seemed like an act of respect ended up being the complete opposite.

For someone who's shown so much change in character,

it's funny how his 2-sided actions never stopped.

By the time only 1 enemy was left to fight, it was pretty clear there was no danger of

Frieza betraying his team.

Although he referred to it as "just insurance," Frieza had still saved a teammate who would

most likely never get up again.

He had taken it on himself to go head-to-head against the person who had already defeated

him before.

And yet, in the middle of desperately trying to hold back what was looking like the finishing

attack for them, Frieza had the nerve to ask:

So why even keep fighting?

You can look at Frieza's reassurance that Goku would keep his word and say that tells

us everything we need to know about his future.

Being that he asked at the very ending of the battle,

it's clear nothing had actually changed Frieza.

But the other side to Frieza's actions tell a totally different story.

No one will ever forget how crazy perfect his teamwork was with Goku.

However, that also means it's super easy to forget

every other time his plans worked perfectly in sync with his other teammates.

One plan you probably do remember was against Dyspo.

But that plan ended with Frieza more than happily eliminating his own teammate.

Not very convincing in this side of the argument.

But you might not remember the first time these 2 fought together,

because it was also one of the many times Team Universe 7 feared Frieza was betraying

them.

Gohan was already turning out to be useless against the Instant Transmission powerhouse.

But after suddenly deciding to help a teammate out, Frieza had just as suddenly changed his

mind.

Already trying to prove to himself that he could still be a fighter, Gohan didn't mind

that Frieza had tricked him.

Seemed he wasn't learning much in this fight, however,

and he ended up waiting for his last seconds on the tournament stage to be over.

This, Gohan didn't agree with.

As their teammates sweated Frieza's betrayal out,

they had 0 clue that they were still getting Frieza's special treatment.

Through this very risky plan, Frieza had his eyes opened.

And probably without him even noticing, he admitted to this when he said

Although, with

the influence of helping each other turning into a lot of effort being put into fighting

for his Universe, it's hard to remember that Frieza doesn't

actually care about saving anyone, including himself.

We had already seen this behavior when he first returned.

Thanks only to Vegeta, Goku had survived his battle against Golden Frieza.

Too bad for the evil mastermind, Goku wasn't the only one who had learned to control his

ki.

With his energy already close to gone, fighting another Super Saiyan Blue was totally out

of the question.

It was either give up or go down with his enemies.

What in the world kind of fan service has gotten into us?

Is it not absolutely clear that Frieza has no intention on changing for the better?

Actually, his intentions have nothing to do with it.

Dragon Ball Super has been caught before taking stories from Dragon Ball and Dragon

Ball Z, and simply reworking them to make it feel

brand new.

And nothing is stopping them from putting Frieza's story through this, too.

When he was first born into the show, Piccolo was, by his very nature, an evil person.

Even after spending time and forming a bond with Gohan, he still had no intentions of

changing his ways.

But there was one reason Piccolo had for joining forces with his biggest enemy.

Although they had separate reasons for going after him,

both Piccolo and Goku planned to team up in order to defeat Cell.

Unfortunately, it didnt mattwr the amount of power the Z fighters used against him,

Cell continued to tower over them in strength.

Having done as much training as he felt was possible,

Piccolo saw only one option for getting a big boost in power in only a short amount

of time.

Seeing the change in him before Piccolo could see it himself, Kami was already picking up

on the good in his past evil half.

Not only because of Gohan, but because of the influence of those fighters

he had teamed up with for a common goal, Piccolo's evil nature was already slipping

away.

If you had told yourself during those days, that some time in the future, Piccolo would

be a good guy, you never would've believed it.

And as early as the release of the Dragon Ball Super movie,

just imagine what you could be saying about Frieza.

But even more importantly, imagine what you'll be saying

after I finish showing you how Goku never surpassed Vegeta.

Government Says They Aren't Responsible For Nearly 1,500 Missing Immigrant Children - Duration: 7:43.

A new report found that the United States has lost track of nearly 1,500 migrant children.

It's creating this massive humanitarian crisis in this country.

We don't know where 1,500 kids that were brought into the United States, unaccompanied minors,

supposedly given to homes to be taken care of, we don't know where 1,500 kids are.

I mean, that's insane.

That's the only word to describe it.

This is something that you would hear about if it was over in Iraq ...

A banana republic [crosstalk 00:00:35].

You know, perhaps somewhere, anywhere the third world, you [inaudible 00:00:41], "Oh,

they lost 1,500 kids, oh that's so sad.

Oh, let me change the channel here."

This is the United States, the federal government in charge of these children.

They're supposed to make sure we send them to family, we send them to friends, we send

them to legitimate foster families.

Instead, they just lost them.

They sent them off, they don't know where.

Some of them we do know have gone to human traffickers and the slave trade, actually.

The rest, we're not too sure.

Maybe they're down the street, I don't know.

The government also says, "You know what?

We're not legally responsible ..."

HHS.

Yeah, to go find these kids or keep track of them.

We got a lot going on.

Let's talk about that just a second.

First of all, you've got an organization that's put together just, it's called the ORR and

it has to do with placement of these kids.

Okay?

Now, the question becomes, how much input does the HHS have over the ORR?

You got a bunch of pinhead, you know, a bunch of bureaucrats that don't have a clue who's

taking care of what.

The ORR, the very people who place these kids, supposed to place them in homes said, "Well,

we lost track of 1,500 kids."

The HHS says, "Well, it's not our responsibility.

We're not responsible for this."

The ORR says, "Well, we're not responsible."

I mean, this is actually the argument going on with these pinhead bureaucrats right now.

It's like a bunch of children and they're sitting there saying, "Well, you touched them

last, it's your responsibility."

This is 20% of the migrant children who came into this country in 2017, 20% that they don't

know about.

Part of the issue is that the Republicans in control, one of the first things they always

do is they cut budgets.

They cut departments, they fire staff because they want to shrink the government.

Well, now we've fired people, we've cut the budgets so they can't properly do their jobs.

Instead of having this Office of Refugee Resettlement keeping track of them or HHS or hell, even

ICE at this point, everybody says, "Not my responsibility.

I rounded them up like I was supposed to.

I put them on the bus."

They could be in the slave trade, for all we know.

Right.

Interesting thing, sometimes I read these stories, I mean, I get these emails, "Pap,

why are you smiling and laughing during the very serious story?"

This is a serious story.

It is.

I have to.

Some of these stories are so ridiculous, when I look at them, my mind is thinking, "How

have we gotten here?"

That's why it's almost a laughable situation that we've become this third world banana

republic, and nobody will admit it.

This is a great example.

Exactly.

It's one of the things you never thought.

I mean, five years ago if you would have gone back in time and hand me this headline I would

have said, "Oh, this is from The Onion, of course, obviously."

No, this is what's happening.

It happened 2017, 1,500 kids somewhere out there in this country, maybe.

Yeah.

The opioid epidemic has gotten so bad in this country that shellfish, mussels from the waterways

are now testing positive for opioids, which means you might be ingesting these addictive

medications without even knowing it.

This story, this is where somebody set out, they had a suspicion that up around Elliott

Bay, around Oregon, that area through there, that the level of opioids in the water, somebody

was reporting they had taken some casual tests, so they went out and did some really spectacular

testing.

They actually tested, I don't remember exactly how many sites.

It was maybe 18 sites, eight or 18 sites, something.

Is it eight?

18.

18 sites.

They came out in three of the locations that were very close to Bremerton and Elliott Bay,

they came back and said that the Oxycontin levels were so high that they actually pose

a danger.

Now, first of all, can you imagine ... What we see in the opioid in litigation is that

there are pockets around the country where the manufacturers and distributors like McKesson

have pumped in so many pills, knowing that ... There's areas where every man, woman,

and child had access to 500 pills, man, woman, and child in areas.

This is one of those areas.

Now, what they would do is they would go to areas where there's big despair, economic

problems, job loss, economic issues that cause personal despair.

This is one of those areas.

All of a sudden, they find out, well, the level is so high they were finding oxycodone

in the shellfish.

What people need to understand here is this comes from human waste.

I know everything we flush, it goes to wastewater treatment facilities, but that's to remove

the bacteria and anything like that, and then it does, most of the case it either gets dumped

into the environment or dumped into the waterways.

When people are on opioids and there's so many in this area that this wastewater, after

being treated and dumped into Elliott Bay or nearby waterways where it goes in there,

the shellfish, the mussels, probably oysters and everything else in there, they're now

all doped up on opioids.

Yeah, and the industry is saying, "Well, we did what we were supposed to do.

We gave it to the water treatment plant."

The industry knew what they were doing.

The industry understands, for example, this next story.

This is a great story.

Pharmaceutical makers are sending so much drug-spiked water around the country, here's

what happens.

Pharmaceutical company doesn't want to pay to treat their own waste, so they give it

to the taxpayers to have to treat at the public wastewater treatment.

Well, here's the problem.

The wastewater treatment is not equipped to remove all of these drugs that these pharmaceutical

companies put in there, and so the companies know that, and the level of things like anti-fungal

drugs, anti-histamines, diabetes drugs, anti-seizure drugs are off the chart.

Muscle relaxers, blood pressure drugs, and people don't understand, these are being found

not just in the waterways, it's in the sea life.

The fish that you eat may be filled with antidepressants.

You're taking these medications and you don't know about it.

That has horrible consequences for the public.

Of course it does.

What I love about it is the industry saying, "Well, isn't that their job, the water treatment

plant?"

Well, they know it's not their job and the industry understands they're not equipped

to treat it.

Let's pass it onto taxpayers again.

Let's let taxpayers and consumers worry about our profits, that's what's happening here.

This Little Girl Was Selling Lemonade To Raise Money Then Suddenly The Cops Arrived - Duration: 5:12.

Hanan Paisley's always wanted to be a cop when she was older but first she

hoped to raise money so that she could look the part so pazley did everything

that she could to earn some cash however when the police heard what she was up to

they had no choice but to pay her a visit back in the summer of 2017

Hannah Paisley from Kansas City was only three years old but she already had big

dreams for her future Paisley knew exactly what she wanted to

be when she grew up which inspired her to do something pretty awesome

Paisley was determined to become a police officer one day she was so

excited about being a cop in fact that she decided she'd really like a police

officer uniform of her very own but the problem was that she didn't have enough

pocket money to afford one that's why Paisley devised a genius plan

to come up with the money the aspiring police officer organized a lemon stand

she wanted to sell refreshing drinks to the public in exchange for enough cash

so that she might buy herself a cop costume plenty of kids set up lemonade

stands every summer but not many of them received the attention that Paisley's

did indeed the story of the aspiring officers lemonade stand ended up going

totally viral and the public response was truly awesome Paisley and her aunt

originally set up the stand on a Friday in June of 2017 and things went really

well to start with in fact after the first day Paisley had raised enough

money to purchase her own police officers uniform but she didn't want to

stop there as a result her aunt Ashley Marie rooks and Paisley returned on the

saturday morning what's more they'd been out to buy the

police costume that very morning and wanted to set up the stand one more time

and on this occasion Paisley was proudly wearing her uniform unfortunately though

business was a little slow that day at one point there was no one coming to buy

lemonade from the stand at all so Rooke sent her pal Sierra Moore who was also

helping out decided to do something to drum up more business more took to

Facebook to spread the word in hopes of encouraging more customers to come and

visit the but there was one group of people whom

she wanted to stop buying more than anyone else so more did her best to

attract their attention more social media posts began with the following

words hey I need a favor then she went on to explain what she

wanted if I'm friends with a police officer or if anyone knows a police

officer message me she continued I'm with a little three-year-old who used

her lemonade money to buy a police officer outfit she loves police officers

and I would love it if someone could come and buy lemonade from her Moore

explained hoping to attract at least one officers attention but what happened

next was truly remarkable not only did people share Moore's post far and wide

but it also successfully reached a bunch of police officers who were more than

happy to help just an hour and a half went by in fact before the post had gone

viral at that time Paisley spotted some patrol

cars heading towards her lemonade stand clearly police officers had heard about

her endeavors and decided to come down and check the stall out most of all

though the cops came to meet little Paisley Paisley's aunt documented

everything that happened next she took plenty of photographs of all

the officers who showed up and posed with the little Paisley who seemed to

love every second of it more than 50 cops came down in total and

they completely made the three-year-olds day the photo show Paisley striking a

pose alongside her idols drinking lemonade with them and hanging out in

their patrol cars even some police dogs and horses showed up and perhaps most

excitingly a helicopter flyover was also organized for the aspiring cop

little Paisley was amazed to see so many of her heroes turn up to meet her and

the photographs demonstrate just how excited she was to see them all Paisley

told local newspaper the Kansas City Star that she loves the police and still

plans on being a cop when she grows up once the set of photographs was posted

on Facebook it didn't take long for them to attract plenty of attention online in

fact the pictures were shared hundreds of times online and people seemed to be

really touched by the story Paisley Zandt posted the images with the

caption explaining what had just happened

just about every cop in the Kansas City area has come by and bought lemonade

from this sweet baby just from the pictures you can see the pure joy all

the officers brought to her face it read and people online loved it too oh my god

I'm crying because this is so cute one commented well another wrote my heart

just melted there's no doubt that pazley story warmed the hearts of Facebook

users indeed someone even claimed that it was the greatest thing on the

Internet in a world where negative stories often dominate the news

headlines it's refreshing to hear about wonderful acts of human kindness like

this one the u.s. police force is no stranger to bad press but this group of

Pandas — The Complicated Truth Behind These Cute Animals - Duration: 5:03.

- [Narrator] Okay, so here's a hot take.

Pandas are overrated.

Sure, they're cute. So cute that

they show up in our logos, our movies, and even on our feet.

We are obsessed.

But every obsession has a dark side.

And this one starts in China.

(bubbly orchestral music)

The Chinese government owns nearly

all the giant pandas on earth.

And American zoos will shell out up to

a million dollars a year to rent just one.

Most sign 10 year panda diplomacy contracts,

and if any baby cubs are born,

they pay an additional one-time $400,000 baby tax.

That doesn't even include the extra costs,

like the bear's enclosure, medical care,

and mountains of bamboo, but zoos are far

from going bankrupt over pandas.

In 2012, attendance at the Edinburgh Zoo

rose 51% after pandas arrived.

And the National and Atlanta zoos saw similar increases.

While that money is great for the zoos,

it's not necessarily the best for the pandas.

Turns out, breeding pandas in captivity

is a completely different ball game from in the wild.

Threesomes are more or less the norm,

when it comes to wild panda sex,

something that's really difficult to replicate in zoos.

On top of that, wild pandas have a mating routine

that involves courting calls and scent

markings that can last weeks, but in captivity,

the chosen pair is often separated, right up to when

the female is ovulating, and as a result,

they rarely hit it off.

Regardless, we are dead set on keeping the species alive.

And why wouldn't we?

They're freaking adorable.

The round heads, seemingly large eyes,

and Cabbage Patch Kid bodies remind us of babies.

And that triggers a nurturing response.

Ultimately, what it boils down to is this:

People care about cute critters.

Period.

Mangrove forests, for example, support at least

1,300 animal species, with their roots, fruit, and branches.

So, saving them is like saving their entire ecosystem.

Pandas, by comparison, don't affect many other life forms.

So, saving them saves the pandas, but not much else.

Yet, it's the cuddly pandas who qualify as a poster species

for conservation organizations, not the mangroves.

And that's a problem.

Of the close to 20,000 endangered animal species,

only 80 get the lion's share of the already scarce funding.

And one study found that 61% of conservation

campaigns only raised funds for these celebrity species.

But as the World Wildlife Fund's logo,

pandas really hit the ultimate conservation jackpot.

When the World Wildlife Fund was founded in 1961,

it distributed all printed materials in black and white.

You know what else was black and white?

Pandas.

Pandas look just as cute in color

as they did in grayscale, so voila.

But the sad irony is the main reason pandas

were endangered in the first place is habitat destruction.

Yet, even with all their funding,

it's not enough to prevent further habitat decline.

Construction, logging, and an influx of tourists

continued to diminish and disjoint

the panda's natural habitat.

And if the whole point of these hefty funds

and breeding programs is to rebuild

wild populations, we're sucking at it.

In 2006, the Chinese government started

reintroducing pandas to the wild,

but only five of those seven are still alive.

In fact, of all the species listed as endangered

since 1973, 99% are still around,

but only 1%, one, have been successfully

rehabilitated and taken off the list.

Maybe it's time to end the era of pent up panda bears.

After all, we'll always have Kung Fu Panda.

Jo Vlogs... Haircuts!!! - Duration: 3:09.

- Hey everyone, it's Jo with another vlog

and I just wanna say thanks to everyone

who said amen last week, especially you,

you with the icon.

(techno music)

So, we've all had bad haircuts.

I'm gonna tell you about my bad haircut.

Little me didn't really understand hair

so I was like, cutting hair is easy.

All I need is two ingredients, my hair and scissors.

I really wanted to be like an anime character

and I guess that the criteria for that

was that I needed bangs.

I put my hair in a ponytail

'cause then I just had to snip it once.

I just chopped a big chunk of it off

and there you have it

and then when I untied my hair, by golly, did I have bangs.

But they were like three centimeters,

so I spent some time crying in the bathroom

'cause I looked awful.

I was like, oh my God, I have to show my parents,

I live with those guys.

My mom freaks out 'cause she's like

what have you done with your beautiful hair

that I, that I raised?

I raised this hair, I grew it like a crop.

After my mom got mad at me, she was like,

alright, it's gonna be okay little buddy.

You look bad, but so does everybody else

when they're ages 10-14.

If you're ages 10-14 and you think you're ugly,

it's okay, 'cause that just means you're gonna be

really really hot in college.

Source, me.

I was really ugly for really long.

Then I got really hot in college.

Can I get an amen from the people

who are really hot right now?

That means all of you, got 'em.

But like, positively, I got 'em positively

'cause all of you are beautiful and lovely.

Back to the hair, day after I go to school,

everyone's making fun of me and I'm like,

you know what?

Come at me.

And I mean, I was in the sixth grade

so after a day of laughing at my hair,

people stopped caring,

'cause sixth graders don't have great attention spans.

Eventually it grew out and I actually looked kinda cute

but then like, what nobody tells you about bangs

is that they get real annoying real fast.

Once they get a little too long, you can't see anything.

I had bangs for maybe six months

and then I grew them out, I didn't have bangs again

until college, and now look at them.

I'm waving them back and forth, you guys see them?

I have exactly three bangs.

If you like 'em, let me know.

If you don't, please don't let me know,

that's gonna hurt my feelings.

Do you have a bad haircut story?

You should tell me, tell me all about it in the comments

and then I'll read them with my eyes, bye bye.

Bye bye bye bye bye bye.

Vlog #18 Ascent to the Cold Mountain - Duration: 6:58.

Hi everyone!

How to start the day better than in Logarska Valley.

I am at starting point just under waterfall Rinka, continuing to Okrešelj,

and than to the Cold Mountain, this is right there.

I decided for Cold mountain, because I was never there before,

and because there is very nice view on Karawanks, Austrian mountains and Kamnik-Savinja Alps.

And also because I wanted to go above 2000 meters.

Let's play some music now.

Savinja waterspring.

I am at GRS hut, and over there is Frischauf lodge at Okrešelj.

But I don't have plan to stop now.

My today's goal is here, behind me.

This mountain.

I reached snow for the first time today.

I just got to very interesting part of the trail.

I have two options,

I can walk on the snow, but it is very steep,

or continue through here.

I will choose safer path, but that means I will be under the snow.

I hope it is wide enough.

Just like being in the fridge.

This viewpoint.

There is already Savnija pass behind me,

but I just go straight to the Cold Mountain.

Let's check this view from another perspective.

Because of the danger of falling rocks,

from here,

is right to put this on.

Path now gets harder,

so I will put the camera on my chest.

I am on the top!

Now I will tell few interesting things about Cold Mountain from my book,

written by Peter Ficko in 1977.

Cold Mountain is 2203 meters high,

and for long time very few people visited it.

It is because there was border between Yugoslavia and Austria on this mountain,

so walking here was forbidden.

At the time, when book was published only 20-30 people per year visited this mountain.

The summit was reached for the first time only in 1876, because access is so tough.

This path from Okrešelj, is marked as very tough and lasts 3,5 hours.

There is another way, a bit easier but longer.

Also this one is for experienced climbers.

I think it is time to go back, so these clouds don't catch me with a storm.

I am going back for some time now.

I reached snow now, and decided to sledge down.

So, hiking is almost finished.

I think I will get to the car just before rain.

I had a great time.

3 Ways to Enable Alexa Skills - Duration: 3:07.

Hi! I'm Zoe from Technicool,

and today I'm gonna show y'all how to enable an Alexa skill.

There are three ways that you can enable skills.

Through the Amazon Alexa app,

through Alexa herself, and through Amazon the website

The first method I'm gonna show y'all is through the Amazon Alexa app

So you're just gonna open the app and you're gonna click the three lines over here and go to skills

so when you click that it brings you to this menu where it shows

you different Alexa skills, the latest skills, or game skills, or top skills.

You can either look at the categories and search through there.

Or, you can search for a specific skill.

Today I'm going to demonstrate with our own skill called Spin the Wheel.

And you can learn more about that

in our last video or on our website Technicool.com .

And so this is our skill

which is the second one. Just a blue thing and it says "by Technicool"

and you're gonna see this big blue rectangle it says "Enable" and you just click enable,

and then you wait for it to enable.

and then it's enabled and it's ready to use.

Zoe: Alexa, ask Spin the Wheel to create dinner.

Alexa: what item do you want to add to dinner?

Zoe: and there you go that's how you enable a skill through the Amazon Alex app.

The next method is to enable a skill through Alexa herself.

Zoe: Alexa, enable "Flatter me"

Alexa: That thing you don't like about yourself is what makes you so interesting.

Z: Alexa, enable "The I'm poor Skill".

Alexa: Here's a skill "the I'm poor skill" created by cooliotonyio.

A: maybe you should stop trying to be poor.

Z: And there you go, that's how you enable skills through Alexa herself.

Now the last method is through the Amazon website.

Be sure you're signed into the same account that all your Alexa's are set up to.

So what you're gonna do is you're gonna go to this little thing in the corner,

click Alexa skills, then you're gonna

type in the skill that you want. So we're gonna do Spin the Wheel.

Like I said before, you can find out more information on this from our last video and also on our website.

Then you're gonna want to click the skill that you want and

obviously y'all want our Spin the Wheel because it's awesome and amazing and y'all should get it.

Then you're gonna click this yellow rectangle over here that says "Enable"

And then it's enabled!

Wow look at that it's so easy.

(In the distance) wOw.

Now let's try it out

Zoe: Alexa, ask Spin the Wheel to create dinner.

Alexa: What item do you want to add to dinner?

Z: And there you go.

those are all the ways that you can enable an Alexa skill.

I hope you guys found this video helpful and if y'all did be sure to hit that "like" button!

Be sure to check out our last video and don't forget to subscribe to see more content like this.

Also, if you want more information about other things that we've reviewed,

or that we have instructions on be sure to visit our website:

Technicool.com . it'll be linked in the description below as well as our skill!

which is downloadable for everybody who has an echo dot...

(laugh)

Anyways, that's all for now!

Bye.

Imagine Dragons - Whatever It Takes ft. Maddie Wilson (Music For a Cause) - Duration: 4:19.

People look at you. They stare.

They all stare. They point at you.

They shout things. They make you feel different.

It's fantastic.

Falling too fast to prepare for this Tripping in the world could be dangerous

Everybody circling, it's vulturous Negative, nepotist

Everybody waiting for the fall of man Everybody praying for the end of times

Everybody hoping they could be the one I was born to run, I was born for this

Whip, whip Run me like a racehorse

Pull me like a ripcord Break me down and build me up

I wanna be the slip, slip Word upon your lip, lip

Letter that you rip, rip Break me down and build me up

Whatever it takes 'Cause I love the adrenaline in my veins

I do whatever it takes 'Cause I love how it feels when I break the chains

Whatever it takes

You take me to the top I'm ready for Whatever it takes

'Cause I love the adrenaline in my veins I do what it takes

Always had a fear of being typical Looking at my body feeling miserable

Always hanging on to the visual I wanna be invisible

Looking at my years like a martyrdom Everybody needs to be a part of 'em

Never be enough, I'm the prodigal son I was born to run, I was born for this

Whip, whip Run me like a racehorse

Pull me like a ripcord Break me down and build me up

I wanna be the slip, slip Word upon your lip, lip

Letter that you rip, rip Break me down and build me up

Whatever it takes 'Cause I love the adrenaline in my veins

I do whatever it takes 'Cause I love how it feels when I break the chains

Whatever it takes

You take me to the top, I'm ready for Whatever it takes

'Cause I love the adrenaline in my veins I do what it takes

Hypocritical, egotistical Don't wanna be the parenthetical, hypothetical

Working onto something that I'm proud of, out of the box

An epoxy to the world and the vision we've lost

I'm an apostrophe I'm just a symbol to remind you that there's

more to see I'm just a product of the system, a catastrophe

And yet a masterpiece, and yet I'm half-diseased And when I am deceased

At least I go down to the grave and die happily Leave the body and my soul to be a part of

thee I do what it takes

Whatever it takes 'Cause I love the adrenaline in my veins

I do whatever it takes 'Cause I love how it feels when I break the chains

Whatever it takes

You take me to the top, I'm ready for Whatever it takes

You'll NEVER Take Vitamins Again After Hearing THIS - Duration: 2:55.

We all need our vitamins and minerals.

There are 13 main ones and you'll actually die without them.

Many of us take multivitamins and supplements because we think it will somehow benefit our

health in the long run.

But after hearing what I'm about to tell you, you'll probably never take another

multivitamin again.

Welcome back to IO I'm Charlotte Dobre.

We all had a mother that forced us to swallow or chew a vitamin every morning.

I had those flinstone vitamins, which low key tasted like candy so I tolerated them.

I also didn't eat my veggies as often as I should have so I took multivitamins as a

way to escape eating a salad.

In the united states, 68 percent of adults take supplements, and 84 percent of Americans

believe that taking supplements is effective.

But multivitamins are expensive.

Sometimes they can cost $20 or more for a single jar.

That's if you're only taking one type.

But guess what.

According to a 5 year study, Vitamin and Mineral supplements make absolutely no difference

to your health.

Before you go and say, what the hell IO this is fake news, cuz I know some of you like

to do that before you actually look up the story, this study has been published in the

journal of the American college of cardiology.

And frankly, this isn't even a new idea.

To anyone who's studied vitamins, the results of the recent study is not even surprising.

According to the lead author of the study, Dr. David Jenkins, there is no harm in taking

supplements like vitamin d, multivitamins, calcium or vitamin c.

But there is also no apparent advantage either.

Furthermore, They do absolutely nothing to prevent heart attacks, cardiovascular disease,

or death.

The only supplements that seem to have some positive effects is folic acid, which may

be linked to having fewer strokes and less overall cardiovascular disease.

Obviously there are some exceptions.

If you do have a specific deficiency, and if a doctor tells you to take supplements,

do it.

But the best thing to do to get the vitamins and minerals you need is to eat a healthy

diet.

Once again, there is no shortcut around eating healthy.

Moral of the story: take that money you would spend on supplements, and instead regularly

stock up on veggies, fruits and nuts.

Stop spending money on pills unless you have to.

Usurp - Word of the Day with Lance Conrad - Duration: 1:56.

Welcome back to Word of the Day with Lance Conrad.

Today's word is "usurp."

Let me tell you a story.

To usurp a position is to take it by force.

History is full of people who overthrew kings

and emperors by trickery or force and usurped

their thrones.

William Walker was a very colorful individual.

He was, at various times in his life, a doctor,

lawyer, journalist, and mercenary.

So there was some civil unrest going on down

in Nicaragua in 1855, and one side invited

Walker down as a "colonist." So he gathers up about

56 other men from San Francisco, goes down

to Nicaragua, and takes the whole nation!

He takes advantage of the chaos down there

to usurp the position of leader of the armies

and then usurps the presidency by staging

a rigged election.

Shockingly, the President of the United States

officially recognized his new regime.

Walker was a horrible president, instituting

slavery and creating a cholera epidemic.

The surrounding Central American countries

combined their armies to throw the man out

and he fled back to the U.S.

Later, he tries to go down to Nicaragua

to usurp the presidency again.

Through a series of bad luck and worse decisions,

he ends up being turned over to Honduras.

They decide not to take any chances with this

usurper and execute him by firing squad.

The story goes that he refused the blindfold.

Please take a moment to support us by sharing

this video with your family and friends.

If you enjoyed it, I'm sure they will too.

Chris Teach McNeal stunt show at BMW Motorcycles of Riverside, S1000RR, G310R, K1600B - Duration: 14:58.

Hey guys Albe here

I received a last minute e-mail from

BMW Motorcycles of Riverside

telling me that Chris Teach McNeail

was driving by and decided to stop and put up a stunt show

A part from being one of the best stunt riders out there,

the thing that attracted me the most was the fact that he was going to use....well...

an S1000rr which is....ok ...it's what stunt riders do....you know

fast crotch rockets, but,

he also was going to use

a G310R

which is an unusual choice for a stunt rider

and on top of that, he was going to use a K1600B

which is a giant motorcycle

so, obviously my curiosity picked

I grabbed my camera hopped on my F800GS

and rode down to the dealer

but enough with the chit chat, Teach is getting ready, so, enjoy the show.

He left no time to regret

Kept his dick wet

With his same old safe bet

Me, and my head high

And my tears dry

Get on without my guy

You went back to what you knew

So far removed

From all that we went through

And I tread a troubled track

My odds are stacked

And I go back to black

We only said goodbye with words

I died a hundred times

You go back to her, and I go back to...

I go back to... us

I love you much

It´s not enough

You love blow, and I love puff

And life is like a pipe

And I´m a tiny penny rollin´up the walls inside

We only said goodbye with words

I died a hundred times

You go back to her, and I go back to...

Lecture: Protective Magick, When and How To Use It - Duration: 42:59.

Merry Meet, in this lecture I will be discussing the idea of protection magick, now the first

thing we need to understand is what the term 'protection magick' actually means.

For many people the first thing that's going to come to mind when you hear protection magick

is something along the lines of what we see in the Harry Potter™ movies and the Defense

Against The Dark Arts, and it really is nothing like that. We aren't fighting demons, we

aren't battling other witches, we're not dueling, we're not deflecting magickal spells

and whatnot. Protection magick is simply about keeping ourselves from negative energy, keeping

our energy safe the magick that we're working with, keeping negative energy out, it's

as simple as that.

Now, protection magick is usually one of two things, active protection magick also known

as preventative magick and then there is reversal magick. Now, let's start with preventative

magick, the way I like to look at this is along the lines of health, if we look at preventative

magick the way we do preventative medicine, preventative healthcare, this is akin to washing

our hands and taking our vitamins and making sure we're preventing germs and nasty stuff

to get us sick, so this is, in magick sense, preventing negative energy from attaching

itself to us.

Preventative magick could be done on a daily basis and actually it kind of should be done

on a daily basis, especially if you're coming in contact with other human beings on a daily

basis, just like we should wash our hands every time we go to the bathroom and clean

off the cart before we push it and make sure that we're not going into areas where there

are going to be sick people, if we're going to be doing that we know that we need to make

sure that we should double our efforts. So the same can be said if we're going to be

dealing with a lot of people with negative energy if we're going into situations where

we are going to be coming in contact with other people's energy or if we're doing

a lot of work that requires a specific energy and we don't need that specific energy all

the time.

So we need to look at preventative magick the same way we do preventative medicine and

make sure that we're taking care of ourselves, eating healthy, taking our vitamins, boosting

our vitamin C during cold and flu season and so on, we do the same things when we're

working with preventative magick.

Now I'm going to be covering a few ideas that can be used for preventative magick,

the first one is simply grounding and centering, when we learn how to ground and center ourselves,

what we're doing is we are pushing that energy that we have created out and regrouping

in a way. It can be done in many, many different ways, very commonly is to imagine, simply

that energy pushing down through your body from the top all the way down into the ground

and turning into roots and just returning to the Earth.

A lot of people like to simply go outside, if you can, and take off your shoes and physically

feel your feet on the ground.

Other ways of grounding are simply eating a heavy meal and bringing back in those nutrients

that we've relinquished when we're working our magick, so there are many different forms

of grounding and centering and it's simply just eliminating the excess energy because

when we are working a spell where we're gathering in a specific energy that is for,

say, prosperity, we don't need that 24/7, especially if we're working other magickal

workings, we wouldn't want the prosperity if we're doing another form of magick that

doesn't require that So we want to make sure that we're eliminating the excess because

when we have energy that we're working with and we're just constantly pulling in, it's

a very big drain and can be a drain physically and can make you very lethargic and can cause

you to become physically sick so grounding and whatnot so grounding and centering is

a very nice key element to preventative magick because when we are simply getting rid of

that excess energy that we don't need a lot of times, if we don't ground and center,

we can have excess energy and that can cause wear and tear, you start feeling like you've

had way too much caffeine, get jittery and shaky and feel like you have to be moving

and you have to be doing something and it's very distracting, especially when you've

just worked magick and you're trying to go to sleep, you haven't grounded and centered,

more than likely you're going to find yourself suffering from insomnia. So, grounding and

centering is something that should be used regularly.

The next idea would be smudging, this is where we take a bundle of sage, traditionally, simply

sage, you can get bundles with other herbs included, such as lavender or dragons' blood

or cobalt or cedar there are hundreds of different combinations that you can get these days;

you light a sage stick, you start from the top, you work your way down, and this neutralizes

the energies that are surrounding you. This is great for if you've had an extra stressful

day and you've dealt with a lot of negative energy, if you've come into contact with

some very negative people and whatnot, sage smudging helps neutralize those energies and

then you can, with the other herbs that are added to it, you can pull in specific energies

as well. Dragons' blood is good for protection, cobalt is good for eliminating negative energy

and really dealing with it, exorcising it out and then there is lavender which is good

for helping relax and bring in more of a calming energy to you, so what you use is totally

up to you. Now, sage smudging a lot of people think you have to go purchase a big bundle

of sage or put together a big bundle of sage and that's not the only way to do that,

go to your local supermarket and you can get a little canister of rubbed sage for fairly

inexpensive, you can burn that on a charcoal disk like you would with incense, if you don't

have an incense burner you can also use a clean ashtray or you can get the bottom of

those terracotta planters can be used, those things are great but just simply burning sage,

it doesn't have to be a huge sage stick, it can be simply ground sage that you get

at the grocery store for relatively cheap. So for those people who want to try sage smudging

but can't find the big sage bundles you don't have to worry about that, so that's

another great way. And that's another way like simply washing your hands after you've

been someplace where people have been sick or you don't know how healthy the people

are that you've come into contact with, like you go to the grocery store, you put

your hands on the cart, you don't know who had that cart last, they could've sneezed

all over it so to prevent yourself from catching the cold, during cold and flu season, you

would wash your hands, sage smudging –

along the same lines as washing your hands, something that can be done on a regular basis

and it's a good habit to get into. One of my absolute favorite things is apple cider

vinegar, I often when people come to me and tell me that they're dealing with a negative

person or dealing with negative energy, negative people, my first go-to thing is tell them

to take an apple cider vinegar bath. This is my favorite thing in the world to do because

it's so simple and it works so well, you go to the store and you can buy a small bottle

of apple cider vinegar for less than a buck; all you do is you fill up your tub you can

throw in a handful of salt and a handful of baking soda too to stop your skin drying out,

and pour in the bottle of apple cider vinegar into your tub and just relax, and what this

does is the acidity in the vinegar does two things, the first it does is it helps to recharge

your energies, think of yourself as a battery, the vinegar and the acidity helps recharge

your batteries, it cleanses your aura, it re-aligns all of that energy that you've

been dealing with and then, on top of that, it eats away the negative energy that has

attached itself to you.

A lot of times we come into contact with negative people who don't necessarily realize that

they're negative, you'll know these people because when you come in contact with them

you'll feel totally drained of energy, these are what are commonly known as "psychic

vampires", what they do is leech your energy from you and they tend to become more energetic

the more they are around you and you start feeling more lethargic and you know that you've

come in contact with one of these people because when they leave you just feel like curling

up and going to sleep because you are so drained and a lot of times these people don't realize

that they're doing it, nine out of ten times a psychic vampire doesn't realize that they

are, a lot of times they have the best intentions, they don't realize that they're doing

it so we can't really find them at fault but now we know what we can do to combat that.

And that's to do this apple cider vinegar bath and not only does it remove any energy

leeches, that's how I like to look at them as they leech energy from you, it releases

that connection and it makes it more difficult for them to connect back with you, so especially

if this is a co-worker or someone that you see on a day-to-day basis, obviously you don't

want to take a vinegar bath everyday but every couple of weeks and the more often that you

do it, the more difficult it will be for them to connect that energy because you will start

building up a tolerance. If you don't like baths, I know a lot of people do not care

for taking a bath and sitting in a bathtub, another option is to do it in the shower and

to take the little bottle and slowly pour it over the top of your head and let it go

down your body, now when you do that, first know that it will be very cold, it's very

chilly when you do that because it's not warmed, if you want to try to warm it first

then keep the lid on it and set it in a bowl of warm water, and that'll warm it. Also,

keep your eyes and mouth pursed shut, because it will sting if it gets in your eyes and

it's tasty, if you like vinegar, but it will make your mouth get real pursed because

it's vinegar, and your hair will feel amazing afterwards because on top of the spiritual

benefits of apple cider vinegar, it releases any build-up of whatever hair product and

soap you use, there's usually a waxy build up that's cause by most commercial soaps

so it will cause your hair to become extremely soft. So apple cider vinegar baths are great

to use whenever you come into contact with these people who drain you and, like I said,

it recharges that aura and recharges your energies as well and replenishes what they've

taken. I wouldn't do it on a daily basis, but on a weekly or monthly basis would be

good, or otherwise your skin will start to dry out.

Another popular thing to do is something very simple and it's just shielding yourself

with white light, this is helpful when you know you're going to be going into a situation

or if you're very, very sensitive and very empathic to other people's energies. I usually

have to do this before I go to the grocery store otherwise I feel bombarded and start

getting very anxious and nervous because I have all of these other people who are in

a hurry and aggravated and have had bad days and all their energy seems to be coming at

me. So what I do is simply focus my energy before I leave and simply envision a boundary

around me, of white light. It's kind of like creating a little force field around

you and you just have to focus that and it takes a while for you to make sure that it's

thick enough, it's kind of a trial and error thing, so keep trying it, keep trying it until

you find the way that is best and easiest for you and what works for you because everybody's

sensitivities are different. I like to try to focus starting from the top of my head,

going down around me and just envisioning a bubble surrounding me and it's kind of

like your circle of protection, it works as a filter, it's not going to make people

bounce off of energy field around you, that would be amazing and I would use that to my

advantage if that was the case, that would be a lot of fun playing bumper cars but it

will help block and filter any energy that other people may have that you happen to come

in contact with so that life is a little easier for you.

Another nice method which kind of works with the idea of the shielding are simply talismans

and gemstones that you can carry with you on your person, these are very handy things

to have, and in the image I have up here this is a necklace that I wear anytime I'm going

into a situation of unknowns or a situation where I might feel I need that extra security

or if I'm just going anywhere where there is any energy that might not be positive,

now it might not be negative, but it may be tense or stresses or whatnot. It's a moonstone

there in the center, knowing what your correspondences are is very important so knowing what your

gemstones and their correspondences are is very helpful, for instance, here is the moonstone

and that helps with calming energy, other ones that people like to use are a clear quartz

or rose quarts, some people enjoy using amethyst, smoky quarts, hematite, obsidian and jet also

help with dealing with emotional and stressful events so understanding what gemstones and

their purposes are and those correspondences are will be very helpful in finding talismans

or jewellery that you can wear to help shield you and help you in creating that shield that

you might need, sometimes just holding the gemstone in your hand, I always carry, I have

moonstones all over the place, I keep them in my pockets, I have some in my purse, I

have some I wear as jewellery, simply because they help with extra sensitivity and dealing

with other emotional crises and whatnot, so I keep them where I can easily access them

and if I need to I'll hold on to it and just focus my energy and realign myself, so

understanding what works for you is huge, know your correspondences, like I always say,

magick is the understanding of what different things have on a person, so understanding

what symbols give you peace, what stones give you peace, what stones help you feel more

comfortable is a big part of preventative magick, so when you understand what works

then you're going to be able to find items that you can keep with you that will help

center you and make you feel protected.

So the things I have just listed, the grounding and centering, the sage smudging, apple cider

vinegar, shielding with white light, talismans and gemstones, all of those things can be

used on a daily basis and work like a safety net or like a surgical mask would when you're

trying to keep out things from making you sick, this can help your energy from being

overloaded and keep you from being bothered by other people's energies. So those were

preventative magick, now if there are times where you do feel that someone has sent negative

energy to you and is harming you in some way, there are things that can be done to actively

reverse what has been done to you. Now, the first thing you need to do is figure out,

who is that angry with you? Who would be sending out so much negative energy to you and why

would they be doing this? In order for someone to actually curse another person, there has

to be a lot of negative energy being focused on to that person otherwise negative energy

isn't going to last very long, if you're just mad at someone and (makes annoyed noise)

and you send that out, usually by the time that it's sent, you're over it and so

that negative energy might cause a minor annoyance to that person, focus that energy and they

stub their toe, but it's not going to last and last and last, in order for an actual

curse to last there has to be a deep seated hatred for another person and that takes a

lot of energy, there has to be something to fuel that negativity in order for it to take

hold, so someone would have to hate you with an extreme passion in order for something

horrible to happen. People do hold onto negativity and grudges and this can be sent out to other

people but usually, like I said, they tend to be more an annoyance to that person, it's

not usually harm, it's not usually terrible things happening to that person, it's minor

annoyances, it's aggravations, it's negative things that can happen but not to an extreme.

So when a lot of negative things start happening to you my first thought is to work out what's

going on and maybe there is a way to work through it with that person who seems to have

it out for you, a lot of times a misunderstanding can cause issues and a lot of times if these

things are talked through then sometimes that can help, if that doesn't work there are

things that can be done to help you out. So in extreme cases, if you're being stalked

or if you have somebody who for some strange reason has this focused hatred, because this

does happen, people become obsessed with something in their head that makes them think "I hate

this person" for some strange reason and it's only understandable to them and there's

no way of talking through it, there's no way of fixing it, you've just rubbed this

person the wrong way and so they're focusing that negative energy. Sometimes they will,

if you ignore it long enough and it's just minor annoyances, and you show that it really

isn't worth the trouble in dealing with you at this point in time, usually they leave

you alone and they go away and they go and focus on something else, but sometimes there

is this switch that's flipped and they can't let it go and they become obsessive and they

become harmful. So you should always, before doing anything make sure that you follow the

chain of command and that is, you need to make sure who is causing the problem, why

they are causing the problem, is there a solution to this issue, is there a way of resolving

it, if not you need to make sure that you document everything that is going on, you

make sure that you keep clear records, you make sure that you have physical proof, you

make sure that you go to the people in authority, if it's somebody that is causing problems

at work you go to your boss, to the human resources people, if this is someone who is

threatening physical harm to you and causing negative issues for you, threatening you and

all that, you go to the police first. You make sure that you have proof of what's

going on, that you have written things out, you have made record that this person is causing

issue for you, if you need to get a restraining order, get one, there are things that you

need to physically do, magick is not just going to cause things to go away, so you need

to make sure you follow the chain of command first. Then you can move onto some of these

ideas that can help. OK, a protection jar is the first one that we're going to talk

about here, now they're very common, basically what a protection jar is, it's also called

a witches' jar, it is any type of container it can be small, it can be large, and it's

filled with items of a magickal purpose. Usually, traditionally, items are placed into the jar

that had a magickal purpose at some point in time, so one thing that a lot of practitioners

do is that they will keep a jar near-by and any time they do any magickal workings, any

leftovers (wax drippings, burnt incense, leftover items and what not) are all placed into this

jar, other things, like if a person does a lot of kitchen witchery things like leftover

food and chicken bones, fish bones, beef bones, whatever are placed in there. If you are a

person who does a lot of magickal craftings things such as leftover ribbon or yarn or

thread needles and what not are placed in there. Other things that can be used to fill

a jar are things like salt, water, urine, broken glass, needles, rusty nails, it's

focusing the energy that you want trapped into this jar so it's usually a lot of things

that are leftover, have a lot of magickal pull or are considered negative because as

we understand magick and energy, energy attracts energy so when someone is sending you negative

energy, if you have one of these magickal protection jars on your property then the

negative energy gets attracted to this jar first and gets trapped in there. So usually

these are buried in the ground at the corner of your property, if you are not a homeowner

and you don't have property to bury it in, these can be placed in the backs of cupboards,

in crawlspaces, in attics, they can be placed in storage space, they can be placed above

the rafters in your home, if you open up an air vent they can be pushed into a corner

of the air vent and the negative energy will be attracted there. Just make sure that wherever

that is it's away from where you spend a lot of your time, you want that negative energy

to be attracted AWAY from you. These don't usually have to be changed up but if they

break, if you start feeling extra negative energy being sent to you then you may need

to have more than one, you may need extra protection jars, so that's always a possibility.

A witches' ladder is another very common way to deflect negative energy, usually it's

used to keep out negative spirits, what they are are a length of yarn with knots in them

and feathers and sometimes bone is placed in between the knots, various colors of yarn

and feathers are used in the witches' ladder depending on what kind of energy you're

trying to attract through the feathers and what kind of energy you're trying to deflect

through the yarn, so knowing your correspondences is very important. The purpose of a witches'

ladder is, again, to attract negative energy and to confuse that negative energy, the negative

energy the way that it's explained in the lore of the witches' ladder is that the

negative spirits feel the need to untie all of the knots and usually there are thirteen

knots in a witches' ladder and they have to take the time to untie all the knots and

by the time they have untied all the knots they forget the reason why they're there

in the first place so that's the whole purpose of the witches' ladder and they're very

good in helping to deflect the negative energy. Another neat thing you can do is use mirrors,

small mirrors can be found at your local dollar store, you can find the little compacts, or

you can even purchase mirrored tiles at crafting stores you place those on your windowsills,

you can even make pretty crafts for your window using these if you don't just want the mirrors

on the window, you can make a design using them. You want the mirrors reflective side

facing OUT of the window, so this literally reflects the energy and directs it back to

the sender, I've seen some really pretty ones that have been made with old Compact

Disks, and speaking of using Compact Disks, I've seen some really neat, creative ways

of using CDs and turning it into a wind chime, simply by using bits of thread and old CDs

it's good to get the kind that are silver on both sides rather than silver on one side

and on the other a label but placing these in the corner of your house would reflect

negative energy quite nicely and it's a fun and pretty craft to do too so, you're

not just putting mirrors up, you're also creating something that's pleasant to look

at and not so strange. Another alternative to the mirror in the window can also be using

a crystal as a sun catcher, the crystal traps and changes negative energy, some people believe

that a crystal in the window will be able to transform the energy or return it so you

could actually look at this similarly to the idea of the circle of protection, using it

as a filter (as I discussed in the Creating Circles lecture), it will filter the negative

energy out and let the positive energy in. Now, the final one I'm going to talk about

here are freezing spells, freezing spells can be very effective when needed, these should

be a last resort, the purpose of a freezing spell is to freeze the person or energy in

it's tracks and stop it, it's a pretty powerful type of spell, how it works is you

write out the problem and put it in a jar and freeze it with water and/or other items

in the jar and place that in the back of your freezer, this will last for about a month,

this is usually long enough for the person who is bent on causing you issues to decide

to stop or the spell can be continued the following month, it should usually start on

the crying moon, and will last until the next one, it does take a lot of energy to do and,

like I said, it should be done as a last resort. So these were some very basic and simple protective

magick solutions, now they aren't the only solutions out there, these were just some

of the ideas for what can be done. Remember, however, that you should always follow the

chain of command, you should always make sure that you understand the situation and what's

going on, make sure that you look at the solution and possibilities, a lot of times when you're

in a situation, it's very common to only look in one direction and sometimes it's

hard to look at all sides and it's best not to simply react but to look at the issue

at hand and choose the method which suits the situation, not choose the quick route

and eliminate what we perceive as the problem, things are usually not as cut and dry and

as black and white as we would like. It would be wonderful to look at every situation and

simply see good versus evil but that's usually not the case, even in the worst situations

we sometimes have to look from the person who's causing the problems side, to understand

not only what they're thinking but why they're thinking it, why they're feeling the way

they are and sometimes this helps us in understanding the proper method in which to deal with the

situation, if we can look out from, not only, our eyes, but the eyes of the person who's

causing the issue, that's a big thing that we need to learn to do, it's very difficult

and it can be very, very trying, especially when you're dealing with the situation at

hand when it's a negative one but in the long run it's worth it because there's

always more than one side to every story. Thank you for joining me in this lecture,

I hope that it's helped you out and helps you do preventative magick first before thinking

about pulling out the big guns. So I thank you for joining me, Merry Part.

How not to get Alzheimer's - Duration: 7:20.

I do these videos every week, and it's hard for me to believe that I've done almost 50

of them now.

But the information that I have for you today is I think going to be some of the most valuable

that I've ever offered.

It's the best advice from one of the very best Alzheimer's doctors.

And I think you're going to want to hear what he says, because these are all things that

have really been shown to slow cognitive decline and reduce the risk of Alzheimer's.

The are things that he does with his patients, and you can do them too.

Hi, I'm Tony Dearing of GoCogno.com, the website for people with mild cognitive impairment.

This video is the second of 2 parts focusing on Dr. Richard Isaacson, the founder of the

Alzheimer's Prevention Clinic at Weill Cornell Medicine in New York.

His practice is focused on people with MCI or early stage Alzheimer's, and he's doing

truly pioneering work.

Isaacson's message is that based on the best evidence that we have right now, about one

in three cases of Alzheimer's could be prevented if the person does everything right.

As someone with MCI, I know you want to be that person.

So what should you do?

Here are Dr. Isaacson's answers.

He says when it comes to your risk of Alzheimer's, there are some things you can't control.

They include your family history, or things like past head trauma, or past medical problems.

There the good news is, there are plenty things you can control, that have a direct bearing

on your Alzheimer's risk.

Here they are, and there are a lot of them.

So where do you start?

Well, based on the best science, three good places to begin would be exercise, cardiovascular

risk and nutrition.

On the question of exercise, Isaacson couldn't be more blunt.

Here's what he says: "If there is one thing you can do today, right now, exercise is literally

the only thing someone can do to reduce amyloid in the brain.

Another way you can dramatically cut your risk is by addressing cardiovascular risks,

in particular things like high blood pressure, Type II diabetes or high cholesterol.

If you have any of those things, Isaacson says addressing them should be the top priority.

"If you have diabetes, you have twice the risk of Alzheimer's," he says.

"You are pushing the fast-forward button on Alzheimer's.

I also think high cholesterol pushes the fast-forward button on Alzheimer's."

Another area that Isaacson puts a lot of emphasis on is diet and nutrition, and there, he has

a very specific recommendation.

"If I had to choose one type of dietary pattern with the best evidence, a Mediterranean-style

diet would be my top choice," he says.

Again, that super clear advice and I offer a link below on where you can find out more

about the Mediterranean diet.

The Mediterranean diet is a good overall eating plan, but based on some really important recent

studies, Dr. Isaacson has some other things he advocates as well, so let's look at those.

The first of those is something I talked about recently in another video -- and that's the

cognitive perils of the American diet.

In a study published 2011, Suzanne Craft, a professor at the Wake Forest School of Medicine,

assigned about half of 50 older adults to a Western diet high in saturated fat and sugar.

The other half ate a more heart-healthy diet.

An analysis of their spinal fluid found the Western diet increase inflammation and levels

of beta-amyloid plaque in the brain.

Craft said: "If you think of the impact of eating with these kinds of patterns over years

and years, it's not hard to see how diet can have a profound effect on your risk of Alzheimer's."

Second, let's talk about counting carbs.

In a 2012 study, researchers took 23 people with MCI and put them on either a high carbohydrate

diet or very low-carb diet.

After just 6 weeks, they showed improve verbal memory performance.

The verdict, according to researchers: "Dietary ketosis by means of carbohydrate restriction

can improve neurocognitive benefit for older adults with early memory decline and increased

risk for neurodegeneration."

And here's one more for you.

In 2012, the Mayo Clinic looked at about 1,200 older adults between the ages of 70 and 89,

and followed them for a period of about four years.

It found that those who ate more than 2,142 calories a day had double the risk of developing

mild cognitive impairment.

Now Dr. Isaacson is careful when he talks about Alzheimer's prevention.

We don't have a cure, and we don't have any way to guarantee you won't get it.

He's not saying anything otherwise.

However, until that first big breakthrough drug comes along, or until we have some surefire

method of prevention, all of these things are actions you can take right now to significantly

reduce your risk.

You can learn more about these things and many other prevention strategies by going

to a website that Dr. Isaacson and his team have developed, called Alzheimer's Universe.

It's a free, educational site where Isaacson offers you the same information he gives to

his patients.

It's at alzu.org and there's a link below.

I encourage to go to the Alzheimer's Universe site and spend some time there.

I also look forward to seeing you here again next week.

Until then, as always, be kind to your mind.

"Doorway Drill" By Jordan Harbinger - Duration: 2:36.

When I was younger, my mom always taught me to walk with my shoulders back, sit

with my shoulders back, "own it" basically. So when I was younger, I was a force

to be reckoned with. In fact, I turned into kind of a little a-hole, but

fortunately, I was taken down a peg or 2, or like 15, just by life.

Unfortunately, I've never really gotten that confidence back. But that's

something I'm working on. Which leads me to my point. I was listening to an Impact

Theory (Tom Bilyeu) podcast with Jordan Harbinger... Harbinger... I probably should have

double-checked that before I did this. But he was describing a technique... I'm

gonna have to find it... He called it the "doorway drill." He was saying

that humans, on an innate level, make split-second decisions on a first

impression. It's not something that we control. It's just the way our brains

operate. When you think about how many doorways we walk in daily, weekly, monthly,

and how many first impressions we are creating and eliciting, this is a prime

time to create a more positive and confident first impression. When you do that,

the reaction that you get back from people is that you are this confident,

amazing human (WHICH YOU ARE) you're just demonstrating that. So he was talking

about how, because we are like we are, we will immediately think to ourselves, "yeah

we're going to implement that." And then we will promptly forget to

implement that. So he suggested creating post-it notes and putting them

places that would help you remember as you walk out of a doorway to, what he

described as, reset your body language. Because when you put it into practice,

you can actually reset and retrain yourself to do it unconsciously.

And to do it without thinking about it. And when you do it without thinking

about it, then you're just this confident, positive person. And you portray that. All

the time. And that, I'm thinking, is when the magic happens.

I think. Side note: UnLearn Season 2 launches on Friday. You don't want to

miss it.
