Heya playa, have you ever had a bad dream that really shook you up to your core?
It made you worried and scared as soon as you woke up?
Don't worry, in this video, I'm gonna explain what to do when you have bad dreams, how to
interpret them and how to move forward so that they don't ruin your day.

For those of you that are new here, my name is Josh and every single Monday through Friday
I make videos sharing tips, ideas and stories teaching you how to be your best self now
if you had a bad dream, the first thing you're gonna wanna remember is that it was just a
dream.
It wasn't real and it's not a premonition of what's to come.
Sometimes things happen in dreams that feel so real.
Maybe you're falling off a cliff and hit the mattress, or you're being chased by someone
and you wake up all sweaty or even worse, you get broken up with or cheated on in your
dream and you wake up being angry at that person.
And I get it, those feelings can be incredibly difficult to shake but I think the first step
in moving past them is opening up and talking about them more with people.
If you had a dream about someone breaking into your house and attacking you, talk to
your family or whomever else you live with about making the house a little bit more safer
to prevent that from happening.
Or if you were cheated on or hurt by someone in your dream, don't just hold those resentful
feelings towards them.
Talk to them about what partnership looks like or if they're just someone that you have
a crush on, just get closer to them.
Get to know them to better to see that hey, the way they acted in the dream isn't really
how they feel in real life.
Remember, dreams are just a compilation of all the different thoughts and experiences
you've had throughout your life.
So if you want to better understand your dream you have to actually start processing it.
The more you think about it, the more you talk about it, the more you try to understand
it, the easier it is for you to digest what happened and why it happened.
Sometimes though, it may just feel silly to talk to someone about what happened in your
dream.
You might feel like they'll make fun of you or they might misinterpret what you tell them
which might change your mindset and bring on a whole different path of thought.
Either way, what matters most is that you focus on the feelings that a dream gave you
rather than the actual details of it.
The feelings are the things that you're gonna carry around, the details are just the supplemental
piece that make you feel those things.
There's nothing that was actually real about the dream.
What's real are the emotions that you carry and how you choose to handle them going forward
and what you do to prevent more bad dreams from occurring.
So how do you do that?
How do you actually prevent bad dreams from occurring?
Well, the first step is to take care of your body in a way that you're going to have much
better and deeper sleep.
And that means developing a healthy sleeping routine.
I would recommend doing things like not using technology an hour before you go to bed so
you don't have that bright light right in your face before you go to sleep which generally
makes it harder for you to actually fall asleep.
Try drinking more water so you don't end up dehydrated in the middle of the night, try
having a window open so you can have air flowing in and out so it's not stagnant air that you're
sleeping in.
Another thing that might be helpful is to practice breathing exercises, if your body
is in a calm state of being before you go to sleep, it's going to be a lot easier to
have deep, well rested sleep.
And look, doing those things isn't going to 100% stop you from having bad dreams, but
it is going to help you prevent them.
And, if you still do have bad dreams, try to talk to people about them.
Think about them, process them, you have the ability to work through these moments so don't
let them take over your life and control you, you can do it.
