Youtube daily report Mar 5 2018

Logic Vs Joyner Lucas, the battle of the biracials.

Now I say battle or beef, it's a bit one sided at the moment, because Logic has not

responded to Joyner Lucas in this situation yet, but today what we're gonna be talking

about, I'm gonna be asking if Joyner Lucas really is justified in throwing these shots

at Logic.

I'm just gonna give a breakdown of the situation, any shots that have been thrown Logic's way

by Joyner recently, and then giving my thoughts on if he needed to do this, if this was necessary.

I thought this subject kinda died down but I still get asked about a lot and see people

to this day debating on Twitter about it, so I decided to give you a video with my full

thoughts on it.

So with all that being said guys, this is CDTVProductions, you can follow me on Instagram

under that name, and let's get right into this.

So as I'm sure we all know by now, this all started when Joyner Lucas said this on

his remix of Future's Mask Off.

(Clip: Joyner Lucas "Mask On (Mask Off Remix)").

He was basically saying him and Logic aren't comparable, and if you don't believe him,

the song Sriracha by Tech N9ne is proof of that.

If by some chance you haven't heard it, here is Joyner Lucas's verse on that song.

(Clip: Tech N9ne "Sriracha (feat.

Logic & Joyner Lucas)").

And this is Logic's Verse on the song.

(Clip: Tech N9ne "Sriracha (feat.

Logic & Joyner Lucas)").

Not only was Logic's Verse disappointing because it didn't really match up with Tech

and Joyner, it was also disappointing because it just kinda came off as a freestyle, and

Logic shoulda came with something much harder for that song.

Joyner explained why he was frustrated with Logic's verse on Everyday Struggle (y'know,

back when it was good), saying he was initially excited to see what Logic would come with,

but then saying it took months for him to come through with the verse.

I mean Joyner even says he thinks Logic wasn't happy that Joyner was on

the song.

(Clip: Joyner Lucas on Everday Struggle).

He also talks about how he felt that Logic took some of Joyner's concepts, for example

naming a song after a phone number, which is what Joyner did with his mixtape, and then

making a song about su!c!de prevention, which Joyner did better but I don't necessarily

think Logic stole the idea.

Its a common theme to make a song around.

Nonetheless, Joyner feels that Logic kinda stole those concepts from him.

You can hear the whole story in the interview, but that's pretty much the gist of it.

Now, things haven't exactly escalated recently, Logic still hasn't said anything on the

subject to this day, but Joyner has thrown some more jabs Logic's way recently.

Now its only really a small shot he's taken at him, but it's worth noting and this was

on his Look Alive Remix.

Here he says this (Clip: Joyner Lucas "Look Alive (Remix)").

It's not much of a diss, but it really stood out to me because of the mention of 44 More

and Everybody, you know, whilst he's talking about carbon copies, which makes sense as

he thinks Logic took his ideas.

Now like I said this is a minor diss, but then again so was the Sriracha diss, it was

only a few lines, but it shows that Joyner is still throwing some shade at Logic in his

music.

This brings me to the question; is this gonna continue further and is it justified, was

it even justified in the first place?

Now here we get, right into the main meat of the video.

We wanna make this big and meaty.

So let's start with the initial diss from the Mask Off Remix.

Maybe dissing him because Joyner felt he stole the phone number thing and the su!c!de prevention

song, I don't think that's the reason why he should have dissed him.

That's not very justified.

Logic could've been making that song before he'd heard of Joyner.

I feel like Joyner shouldn't be calling him out for that, but dissing him because

of his Sriracha verse is completely justified in my opinion.

Logic deserves to be called out for that verse, because even Logic fans such as myself knew

that verse was so underhwelming.

And it's not like he was just calling out Logic for attention, he just genuinely felt

offended by the verse he turned in for Tech.

That was justified.

However here's where my problem is.

At this point Logic is probably never gonna respond, and I do not want Joyner to keep

calling him out in the future.

I was happy he called out Logic's Sriracha verse because it's undeniably bad, but if

this keeps going on it's gonna get old and stale, and not to mention it could make Joyner

look thirsty for Logic's attention.

I don't think he does right now, I just think people are saying he are because Logic

fans are upset that Joyner dissed him so they call him corny, but that's what could happen

if Joyner keeps throwing these jabs.

As a huge fan of both artists, I think Joyner was right to call out Logic at first.

I just hope he doesn't continue this further and let the Beef bl33d into his commercially

released music, because at that point, it will have overstayed it's welcome.

I don't know if Joyner is watching this, but fun fact, Joyner actually has one of my videos

in his favorites section on his

YouTube channel.

Let's just accept that the situation has happened and appreciate the fact that both

Joyner and Logic are putting out great music right now.

That's what we should focus on.

Top 10 Dumbest Facebook Posts – Part 6 - Duration: 7:17.

Hello and welcome back to the Most Amazing channel on the internet.

I am Rebecca Felgate and today we're back talking about the dumb things people post

on facebook.

Some of you guys may have seen Mr Danny Burke's seminal series, The Top 10 Dumbest Tweets.

He is an expert at dumbest tweets… but he couldn't handle any more dumb social media

for fear of going insane…he said Rebecca, take facebook… and I said, okay Danny, if

that is what you want.

So, before we get into the dumb area of good old facebook, mum's favourite social network,

I wanted to ask you guys to leave this video a thumbs up and leave me a comment in the

comments box.

Also, if you aren't yet subscribed to Most Amazing Top 10, please go ahead and do it!

Okay…facebook… let's see what number 10 has for us.

10 - I love birthdays, birthday's are great….I get excited about birthdays, and so did this

facebooker who posted: Ohmigosh you guys, all my friends had brithdays this year.

Wait….what… well… that's weird.

Come to think of it, so did I.

So did Danny.

So did Landon.

Weird that…

I guess when all of your friends have been born….on days…., birthday's, anniversaries

of their births, happen each year.

From questions about birthdays to questions about blood at number 9.

Science is great.

It answers many questions.

That's why we study science in school…

It seems like Katy needed to pay attention in class.

She wrote: So I just got to thinking, so how come when you stand up all the blood in your

body doesn't go to the bottom of your legs?

Wouldn't gravity just make it fall.

I've been trying to figure this one out all day.

……*silence*……

Oh, hun.

I wonder if she knows what her heart does….what her veins do….

I wonder if she ever stops to think about biology.

I bet she thinks people pee because gravity is just dropping the liquid out her body at

the earliest convenience

What is happening at number 8?

Sarah has some issues, that's what is happening.

When James posted that Osama was dead, she wrote : Wow, he only the presdent 4 like a

year.

Presdent.

Oh dear.

When James clears up he is talking about Osama, not Obama, she is very confused and has no

idea who the terrorist was.

She then wrote she had never heard of him and needs to watch the News more.

When another of James's friend, Randy, gets involved and says he heard he used his wife

as a human shield, Sarah pipes up with concerns for the first lady…again not understanding

that the group were talking about Osama, not Obama.

In frustration, James says Google….Jesus Christ…and poor old Sarah thinks he is asking

her to Google Jesus.

Let's move on to number 7.

Social Networking is problematic for this pair…probably because they have no idea

what it actually is.

One social network user wrote: Does anyone actually use google plus?

Their friend replied WTF is google plus…which I mean…fair comment.

When their friend told them it was a social networking site, like Instagram, Twitter etc,

they responded Social Networking Sites are stupid.

I never use them, that's why I stick with Facebook.

Hmm.

M. MMhmm.

I guess they never saw the movie The Social Network, ehy.

I feel a bit sad for Anna at number 6 I don't want to laugh because Anna clearly

has the right sentiment, but like….

Oh dear.

She wrote: No matter skin colour, sexuality of race, we're all just human beans.

BEANS.

She then realizes her error and writes *Beongs.

I don't know, would you rather be a human bean or a human beong?

Let's have a quick vote in the comments section….

Bean or beong….I am going with beong.

Hello to you, number 5.

If it wasn't for my dumb ass smart phone maken up its own words, Id be goin ham on

suma u hoes bt u slow so I no u culd understand…..

I'm sorry what?

Are you sure your dumb ass smartphone is making up words...?

Or could they be, like, actual words….like the actual words that might have helped your

status make actual sense.

I am not the only one who got the irony here, either.

We have some love advice at number 4.

Relationships are hard, believe me, I understand that… so at first I felt a bit sorry for

Lynette….who wrote: "Well everybody, im single again.

But guess what im not upset cuz why would I want someone thats gonna cheat on me."

I mean, fair play Lynette… buuut then I started reading the comments from her concerned

friends who asked what happened, to which Lynette replied: He wanted to b with his wife.

OH LYNETTE, do you think before you speak.

He is not cheating on you, he his cheating with you.

And you ask why would you want someone that's gonna cheat on you?

BABE, why would you want someone who wants to cheat on their WIFE with you?

My heart bleeds.

3 Oh Josh…

He posted: At least 1 like and I'll get drunk all by myself….

And, when nobody liked it, honey went and liked it himself, then replied "ok".

Josh.

The sad story of Josh.

Ah, the age old question of do dogs have brains at number 2.

One facebook user posted: Dogs can't talk, so do they have brains?

I mean, I know they walk but it's only because we're telling them to walk?

#IDK.

Righhhht.

I mean….. good job humans are here to tell dogs to walk right, if not they'd be totally

motionless…

When you go out and leave your dog at home, they just sort of sit there, baffled.

Finally, there is some tasty meat at number 1.

This person straight up thought they tried Lion for lunch…..

I guess an ability to read is really helpful in life.

The lion eater posted lion for lunch, with a picture of a sign advertising pork loin.

PORK LOIN.

Loin.

Loooooiiiiin.

They then wrote – My mom and I have tried Lion.

It wasn't too bad – tasted like pork….

Go figure!

So that was the Top 10 Dumbest Facebook Posts part 6 - what was your favourite?

HOW TO SPEAK MORE FLUENT ENGLISH WITH THOUGHT CHUNKING - Duration: 7:58.

Hello and welcome to go natural English if you didn't already know

I'm your American English teacher Gabby Wallace here to help you with your English fluency and confidence and

especially in this lesson with your listening skills now if you improve your listening skills, you're

automatically going to improve your fluency because if you can hear something then you're more likely to be able to replicate it in your

Speaking so if you want to improve your English fluency and especially your listening skills then keep watching

Let's begin in your English class your teacher may have given you a long list of

individual vocabulary words to memorize

I know my teacher did in elementary school when we had to memorize vocabulary

words and middle school and then in high school in my Spanish language class and in

college in my Spanish language class and my French class and basically

Every language class I've ever had my teacher always gave me a list of

Individual vocabulary words to memorize and then I memorized them for the test

And I did pretty well on the test and then when I went to speak that language

With native speakers of the language whether it was Spanish or French?

I

Couldn't complete a full sentence all I could think of were individual words

So my fluency was really horrible of course this doesn't really apply to English because it's my native language

But with languages that I was learning like French and Spanish I was having a huge problem with

fluency and also with listening

I couldn't understand what native French speakers or Spanish speakers were saying it was extremely difficult to understand them

unless they spoke only in individual words yes, no one -

It doesn't work like that in real life most of the time unfortunately although sometimes. I got lucky and

People would speak in one-word sentences

However in real life. It's just not like that right

I think you know what I'm talking about so what I want to tell you about today is the opposites of

learning individual words

Learning multiple words together

two or three words

for example in the sentence

How is it going?

How is it going forwards?

But this is a phrase that's used so often that you should learn these four words

Together as one unit there's no need to memorize them separately you're going to get a lot

Farther in your English fluency if you memorize them together

How's it going? It even sounds like one word and this is called a chunk when you learn more than one word together

It's called chunking

Another example would be the answer to this question. How's it going good? Thanks?

Those are two words, but it's kind of a chunk because you say them so often together good

Thanks good. Thanks. It almost sounds like one word so I want us to take this a step further

Let's talk about

thought

chunking in longer sentences because

beginners learn individual words like good

Thanks, how

is

It's going

Intermediate learners will learn chunks like how's it going good?

Thanks, but advanced learners are going to learn how to create their own chunks in longer sentences

So these are called thought chunks. We're going to look at an example about how to identify

them and

how to produce them so identify them produce them and

Hear them and recognize what the important words are that you're hearing so this is going to improve your listening skills

By listening for chunks, and not just individual words

This is also going to improve your speaking skills because you're going to speak in a way. That's more intelligible more understandable to other

Native speakers and also more interesting

Using chunking is going to make you sound more

Interesting so keep watching, and I'm gonna show you how to do this with an example

Let's look at an example from one of the longest sentences in literature it has 96 words and it's one

Sentence so we're gonna take a look at how to identify thought chunks, and how to stress the word in the thought chunk

That is the most important one now when you're listening you want to listen

For the stressed words because those are the most important even if you don't

Hear the other smaller words that are less important

It's okay, because you're still gonna be able to understand the main idea and that's gonna help your listening skills a lot

Okay, so I'm gonna read this first without stressing and without making any thought chunks

And let's see how that goes and how easy that is to listen to and also how interesting it is here

We go as he crossed toward the pharmacy at the corner

he

involuntarily turned his head because of a burst of light that had ricocheted from his temple and saw with that quick smile with which we

Greet a rainbow or rose a blindingly white

parallelogram of sky being unloaded from the van a dresser with mirrors across

Which across as across the cinema screen passed a flawlessly clear reflection of Bo's sliding and swaying not our barley?

But with a human vacillation produced by the nature of those who were carrying the sky these bows as gliding facade

So that was pretty difficult to listen to you right, and I'm guessing you may have fallen asleep

Or you may have clicked over to another video, but if you're still here

thank you so much because now I'm gonna show you how to

chunk words together into thought chunks, and how to stress the most important words as

He crossed toward the pharmacy at the corner he

involuntarily

Turned his head

because of a burst of light

That had ricocheted from his temple and saw

with that quick smile with which we greet a rainbow or a rose a

blindingly white spiral Ella Graham of sky

Being unloaded from the van a dresser with mirrors across which as across a cinema screen

Passed a flawlessly clear reflection of bows

sliding and swaying not our Burley

but with a human vacillation

produced by the nature of those who were carrying this sky these bows this gliding facade so

I think you're gonna hear where we paused and which words were more stressed

That makes your speaking so much

clearer so much more interesting and easy to understand and

You should listen for stressed words to improve your listening to really catch the most

Important words to catch the main idea

And if you need clarification from there you can always ask a question

So I hope you enjoyed this quick lesson if you'd like to get some of my best

lessons directly into your email inbox

I invite you to join my free email group you can click right up there to sign up and it just takes about two seconds

So thanks so much for watching, and I hope to see you again in another lesson soon bye for now

The Untold Truth Of PF Changs - Duration: 3:44.

Love it or hate it, P.F.

Chang's has a strong foothold in the culinary world.

The Chinese-American restaurant has opened hundreds of international locations since

it was founded in 1993.

But while it's played an influential role in shaping modern cuisine, there's probably

a lot you don't know about this landmark restaurant.

Back to its roots

Without the efforts of Cecilia Chiang, P.F.

Chang's may not exist today.

The Chinese American chef opened the doors of the Mandarin Restaurant in 1961.

Her success in the restaurant business eventually inspired her son, Philip Chiang, to get into

the restaurant scene, himself.

After running his mother's business, Chiang opened his own restaurant, the Mandarette,

where he met fellow restaurateur Paul Fleming.

The two later founded P.F.

Chang's using Fleming's initials, followed by Chiang's last name.

A different type of menu

Chiang's fresh and simple cooking technique became the foundation of P.F Chang's Asian-inspired

menu.

But in spite of Chiang's insistence that the dishes served at P.F.

Chiang's are authentically Chinese, some recognize that the food is very Americanized.

CEO Michael Osanloo told Business Insider that while some dishes are inspired by Asian

cuisine, others are created by P.F.

Chang's chefs.

He said,

"If you want a classic Japanese sushi experience, you're not going to come to us.

But if you want some amazing rolls...we rock at that."

The secret sauce

"Sriracha!"

Sriracha is everywhere these days, thanks to P.F.

Chang's, which goes through 100,000 bottles a year.

The restaurant chain began using the condiment in 2000, and soon other popular chains like

Applebee's and Wendy's followed in their footsteps.

Business Insider reported that, by 2016, hot sauce sales increased by 165 percent.

It's so popular that 40 states prefer the condiment to ketchup.

Wrapping it up

We can thank P.F.

Chang's for more than just setting our taste buds on fire.

The restaurant also helped popularize lettuce wraps in the U.S., as it's credited with being

one of the first restaurants to serve them.

"PF Chang's famous chicken lettuce wraps have become the most popular item around the globe."

This dish subs lettuce in for tortillas, for those looking to eat a wrap minus the carbs.

Putting in the hard wok

The P.F.

Chang's kitchen is centered around the traditional wok, where dishes are cooked, after being

prepared fresh.

The restaurant prides itself on "scratch-cooking," which means that everything you eat at P.F.

Chang's was made fresh that same day.

The dim sum is wrapped by hand every day, and even meats and vegetables are painstakingly

sliced and chopped by hand.

Serious accusations

"Girls are so pretty.

You should smile."

In 2012, two women took legal action against P.F.

Chang's, claiming they were harassed on the job.

The San Diego Union-Tribune reported,

"[The women] said they were subjected to offensive comments and conduct from the male kitchen

staff at the restaurants, including [...] remarks about female workers' bodies, and kissing

and whistling noises aimed at female employees as they walked by."

P.F.

Chang's paid out nearly $1 million in total to these women in 2014, only to be faced with

new harassment claims from at least four more women, by 2016.

While the company was reluctant to comment, P.F.

Chang's insists they are...

"...committed to providing a workplace free of any type of unlawful harassment or discrimination."

Surprising branding

P.F.

Chang's has many international locations, but so far have only expanded into one East

Asian country.

The franchise has several restaurants in South Korea, along with dozens more in Europe, the

Middle East, and South America.

But part of the reason P.F.

Chang's can't be found all over Asia could be due to the lack of demand for Americanized

Chinese food.

"It's smiling at me!"

[Laughter] [Screaming]

While Osanloo tells Business Insider that their food's lack of authenticity isn't a

problem, the company did announce plans to market P.F.

Chang's as an American bistro when expanding to China.

We listened to your feedback

and have taken our best-selling Flow Hive Classic

and made it even better.

To celebrate our third birthday,

we have a limited-release, exclusive to Indiegogo.

My dad and I spent a decade

inventing a new way to harvest honey.

- A way that's gentle on the bees,

and a lot easier for the beekeeper.

- A way where the honey

doesn't require any processing at all,

and there's no need to go through

that long, messy, sweaty process of conventional harvesting.

- [Stuart] Just simply turn the handle,

and watch as delicious, raw honey fills your jars,

ready for you to eat.

- Indiegogo is where we started,

and we're forever grateful for everyone

who supported us in 2015.

- [Stuart] First drops and it's pouring

- [Cedar] It's pouring in!

(airy electrical music)

- We were awed by the huge, global response

which allowed us to take our invention to the world

in a way we never thought possible.

(airy electronic music)

- Honey harvesting is such a pain

and it's a tremendous amount of work

and it makes a huge mess, it's very disruptive to the bees.

It's just, it's kind of a disaster.

- Every time I harvested I was killing a lot of bees.

Just poor bees kinda stuck in their own honey.

- So to actually just to have it pour out

of the side of the hive into a jar,

and skip all of that mess is amazing.

- We have delivered 50,000 Flow Hives

to 130 countries so far.

It's a wonderful feeling to have helped inspired so many

to take up the art of beekeeping

and learn to do all the things necessary

to keep their bees happy and healthy.

- One of the coolest things I've ever done in my life

was pull out the first frame, crawling with bees.

You see all these little heads pop up and look at you,

and you just go "Why didn't I do this 20 years ago?"

- As inventors, we're always looking

at how we can make things better.

- So we've redesigned the Flow Hive from the ground up

with lots of new features inspired by all the great feedback

from our amazing customers.

The Flow Hive Two now includes double observation windows

on the honey super.

So you can now get even more insight

into the amazing world of bees.

The all-new hive base now features a built-in tray

for managing pests with three ventilation options.

Built-in spirit levels

and an optional adjustable hive stand,

allows you to set up your hive perfectly.

Inside is our second generation patented Flow Frames,

which allow you to share the new experience

of harvesting pure, untouched honey directly from the hive,

and eliminates the need for costly harvesting equipment.

By popular request,

we've included an adjustable harvesting shelf,

to make it easy to collect your very own fresh honey.

Each hive includes a tool and screws

to make it easy to assemble, even by hand.

The roof shingles now come pre-glued together

for better weather protection,

with roof locks for high winds.

All handles and latches are now robust, solid brass.

The hive is made from highly durable,

sustainably-sourced A-grade Western Red Cedar.

We now manufacture in our own, in-house workshop

using precision laser cutting to make sure every hive

is of the highest quality.

- If you're new to bees, don't worry.

We've created lots of educational resources

and our team is on-hand to give you guidance and support

as you enter the fascinating, wonderful world of beekeeping.

So to celebrate our third birthday,

we're offering the Indiegogo community first options

on the limited, early release Flow Hive Two.

- Whether you're in your backyard,

rooftop community garden, or school,

there's nothing quite like tasting

the utterly unique flavours of your very own honey.

Order here and join our engaged,

global community of beekeepers.

If we look after the bees, they'll look after us,

and the honey really is an amazing bonus.

Liverpool star Jordan Henderson is as good as N'Golo Kante and Nemanja Matic ● News Now ● #LFC - Duration: 2:04.

Tony Cascarino says Jordan Henderson is as good as N'Golo Kante and Nemanja Matic.

The Liverpool ace has impressed in recent weeks as Jurgen Klopp's side have climbed

up to second in the Premier League table.

Henderson, 27, is playing as a holding midfielder, allowing Liverpool's front three of Mohamed

Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane to roam free.

And Cascarino has hailed the England international, claiming Henderson is as good as Chelsea star

Kante and Manchester United enforcer Matic.

"When I hear fans criticising Jordan Henderson I think: 'Am I watching a different game?'

He is as important to Liverpool as all their flair players," Cascarino wrote in The Times.

"He keeps things simple, he robs the ball off the opposition and brings energy to the

midfield.

"He also chips in with the odd goal.

Henderson's work allows creative players to express themselves; on Saturday, he allowed

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to get forward to set up the opening goal for Mo Salah.

"I was talking about this on the radio yesterday and someone said that he's not as good as

Nemanja Matic at Manchester United, but I don't see it.

"Matic, Fernandinho at Manchester City and N'Golo Kante at Chelsea get the praise for

that role, but Henderson does it as well as anyone else."

Liverpool are back in action tomorrow night when the Reds host Porto in their Champions

League Round of 16 second leg.

Klopp's men come into the clash with a 5-0 advantage.

Flow Hive 2 - walk through the features with Cedar Anderson - Duration: 3:14.

- [Narrator] Okay, here it is.

Flow Hive 2.

Let's take a look at the new features.

We're manufacturing this new hive in-house

using precision laser cutting.

This allows us to focus on quality control

and ensure the highest levels of sustainability

throughout the process.

And also gives us the ability to innovate more quickly.

We've redesigned it from the base up.

All made from highly durable, sustainably sourced

A grade Western Red Cedar.

There's an optional adjustable leg kit

which enables you to control the height and level

of your hive perfectly, even on uneven ground.

We've included a multifunctional tray

allowing you trap pests and monitor the health

of your hive.

There's three positions of ventilation control

so you can assist your bees as the seasons change.

Vents down closes the air flow.

Vents up allows air to pass up through the screen.

Or you can remove the tray altogether

for maximum ventilation.

We've included handy built in spirit levels.

From side to side, you want to be dead on level

so the bees can naturally build their brood cone

nice and straight.

And the front to back level has been calibrated

for the ideal honey harvesting angle.

So when the bubble is squarely in the middle,

you're good to go.

The brood box has deeper handles for easier lifting.

And it comes with a set of eight brood frames

with comb guides for the bees to naturally build the comb.

They can also accommodate foundation shapes if you wish.

The Flow Super now features observation windows

on both sides, giving you another window

into the fascinating world of bees.

So you can watch and learn, keeping an eye on your hive.

Inside is our second generation patented flow frames,

the biggest innovation in beekeeping

for over 150 years.

The unique in-frame view allows you to watch

the girls as they cover the frames in wax,

turning it into honey,

and count the cells ready for you to share

the experience of harvesting pure honey

directly from the hive.

You no longer need costly, conventional processing set up.

There's a hole in the inner cupboard

designed for feeding your bees in lean times.

And we've included a plug, so that the hole

can be closed off, or you can leave it open

and allow the bees to build honeycomb in the roof.

The shingled roof panels now come pre-glued together

in one piece for better weather protection

and easier assembly.

To ensure the roof stays on in high winds

to protect your bees, we've included

these sturdy brass wing screws.

We've used high-quality, durable solid brass fixtures

throughout, and they go with that beautiful,

tarnished colour outdoors.

By popular request, we have included

an adjustable harvesting shelf

to make it easier to collect your very own fresh honey

directly from the hive.

You can attach the brackets up high for small jars

or move them down for large ones.

And watch with amazement as your honey

flows right out of your hive into your jars.

The kit comes complete with everything you need

to put your hive together, tools included.

Square and Philips head driver bits

with a nifty L-wrench for easy assembly.

Even by hand if you wish.

This limited early release is exclusive to Indiegogo,

celebrating three years into our record-breaking

Flow Hive launch.

Thanks for watching, and please send us your pictures

as you look after your bees

and enjoy the sweet rewards from your Flow Hive.

Love, Simon Interview w/ Greg Berlanti, Nick Robinson & Cast | HBO - Duration: 3:43.

I'm Greg Berlanti, I'm the director of Love, Simon.

I'm here with the cast and Jack Antonoff,

who wrote a number of the songs in the movie,

and we're here on HBO to talk about the movie.

-Do you ever feel weird? -Weird?

LEAH: Sometimes I feel like I'm always on the outside.

Me too.

Simon, played by Nick Robinson,

is a closeted gay kid coming to terms with his life

and falling in love with another boy online.

Dealing with life, and high school, and friendships

and family, and coming of age, and coming out.

SIMON: My name's Simon. I'm just like you.

Except I have one huge secret.

Hey!

I like your-- your boots!

I said I like your-- your boots!

Goodbye!

Nobody knows I'm gay.

Greg was my first point of contact with this story.

It was a story that I felt was familiar

but it was told now from a completely new perspective.

SIMON: I've been thinking about why I haven't come out yet.

Maybe part of me wants to hold on to

who I've always been... just a little longer.

It wasn't playing into any kind of stereotypes

or any of these cliches that we've seen before

when you're dealing with a gay character.

As a young person and also hearing from

other young people, it's important to have

representation of yourself.

Not that I choose projects with any social agenda,

but I think that, when something speaks to you,

it's important, and also,

it's a story that so many people share.

And to have a big studio film tell this story is

really important and really timely.

A person who was really close to me

came out as gay to me, and, like, three days later,

I got this script for this movie, and

if I could be a part of this, something monumental like this,

then I'm all for it.

It's such an incredibly relatable story,

and music in those films is such an important thing,

because they're living in suburbia,

and they have to make moments like driving around

or sitting around, they have to

make them as emotional as they really are.

And you just have this song that's playing for that.

I think it's always been true, that young people in particular

have the person that they feel like they are inside

and then the person that the world outside sees them as,

that they haven't quite yet announced to the world

whether or not it has to do with being gay.

We all have our coming out moments,

where we choose to announce ourselves to the world.

There's a lot of Simon considering that.

SIMON: Announcing who you are to the world is pretty terrifying.

Because, what if the world doesn't like you?

It was your idea to sort of get us all into a room

before we started shooting, and just have, like,

a safe space to could, like, try out ideas...

I think that helped a lot, to just have sort of a test run.

It was cool to just be with you guys.

It wasn't just about the words or the acting.

It was you making sure that we could get along together.

They did start hanging out all the time and going to dinner

with each other, and they had sort of a private text chain

all of them had going, and then they had the text chain

they allowed me to be on...

-So... Which I didn't know, -(ALL LAUGH)

when you name a text chain, everybody can see it,

so I called it "The Kids," and then they all came to me, they're like,

"Aw, you called our text chain The Kids!"

I'm like, "I had no idea!

Thank God I didn't call it something else!"

-Yeah, "Fucking Actors." -(ALL LAUGH)

What did you guys say about Greg on the other chain?

I don't know, I just know that they had the other chain.

-(LAUGHS) -Mean words.

That's an age when you are just screaming from the mountaintops,

"I am my own person," but you also don't know how to

express all these things.

That feeling, like you can't break out of yourself,

is how I see Simon.

SIMON: I'm done living in a world

where I don't get to be who I am.

I deserve a great love story.

Thank you for watching The Interview on HBO.

Everyone Sees Sick Message Celebs Hid In Plain Sight Entire Night at Oscars 2018 - Duration: 4:31.

12Hrs After Anti-Trump Oscars, Everyone Sees Sick Message Celebs Hid In Plain Sight Entire

Night.

The 90th annual Academy Awards show had the Hollywood elite gathered together not only

to accept awards but to lecture the American people and bash President Trump, which began

almost immediately.

The so-called celebrity host Jimmy Kimmel started off his disrespectful commentary by

slamming Trump, and from there it only got worse.

Soon enough the entire award show turned into a Republican slam fest, that included a sick

message from these hateful liberals that was hidden in plain sight for everyone to see.

We all have come to expect that any award shows that liberals attend will eventually

if not immediately become a platform for these Hollywood actors to spew their hate.

Over the last several years, we have seen this trend continue, but it wasn't until

President Trump was elected that these Hollywood actors began to throw some nasty punches.

For instance, earlier this year, Hollywood liberals lectured the American people that

Dreamers were Americans too, and that all males in America were guilty of sexual assault

thanks to the absurd hash tag MeToo campaign that swept social media.

Now, these Hollywood hypocrites have seized onto the gun violence platform staging a protest

during the Academy Awards show that no one noticed until today.

If any of you so happened to watch the award show last night, you may have noticed a handful

of celebrities wearing orange American flag pins on their designer duds.

These pins are from the far-left gun control group "Everytown for Gun Safety" that

is doing their best to brainwash the younger generation into forfeiting our second amendment

rights, and what better way to do that then by employing the help of the rich and famous.

Here is more from ABC 7:

"Less than a month after a school shooting that killed 17 people, several celebrities

are reportedly planning to use the Oscars as a platform to raise awareness for gun control.

People magazine reports that a group of A-listers will don orange pins from Everytown for Gun

Safety, a nonprofit organization that advocates for gun control and works to reduce gun violence.

Orange is the unofficial color that has come to be associated with various gun-control

causes.

Everytown sells orange American flag pins on its website, but it's not immediately

clear if those are the exact pins that will be worn during the demonstration.

Everytown has not yet responded to a request for comment about the People report.

The reported demonstration comes at a time when gun control is at the forefront of American

political discourse.

After the mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida,

survivors spearheaded a movement demanding that several national brands disassociate

themselves from the National Rifle Association.

Delta Air Lines, First National Bank of Omaha, Hertz and Wyndham Hotels are among more than

a dozen companies to end business relationships with the NRA, while Dicks, Walmart, L.L. Bean

and other companies have announced changes to their policies governing gun sales.

Those same survivors are also organizing a series of student-led nationwide marches in

support of gun reform later this month.

They have raised nearly $3 million in support of their cause, with large donations coming

from George and Amal Clooney and Oprah Winfrey.

Awareness-raising pins have been highly visible at awards shows this season, with many celebrities

wearing black pins in support of the Time's Up movement to various shows and dressing

in black to call attention to sexual misconduct in the workplace.

There is no such Time's Up demonstration planned for the Oscars, sources tell ABC."

I support the freedom to choose, and if a celebrity decides not to own a weapon well,

that is their choice.

However, where that understanding ends is when these Hollywood gun grabbers begin to

tell the rest of us what we can do, and that is not their right to do.

You see, armed security surrounds these Hollywood heavyweights, but yet have the audacity to

push for us to be disarmed, all while they are protected.

What happened in Parkland, Florida, was tragic but placing more restrictions on legal gun

owners is not going to stop future attacks from occurring.

However what will is advocating for more people to arm themselves and take personal responsibility

which is precisely what the left hates.

What do you think about this?

How Metal Gear Has Been Censored In Japan - Duration: 5:11.

Like many video game series, the Metal Gear franchise is no stranger to censorship.

Changes have been made to the titles all over the world, however, in today's video we'll

be taking a look at the times this affected only the Japanese region - this being, of

course, the game's home country and home country of series creator, Hideo Kojima.

The Japanese video game industry is highly influenced by the CERO rating system, which

is the rating system in Japan that's comparable to America's ESRB.

CERO can be pretty strict when it comes to, amongst other things, blood and violence.

This is something Kojima tended to be very vocal about whenever it affected one of his

new releases.

The first time that a game had have changes made, only in Japan, was with Metal Gear Solid:

Peace Walker.

This is something Kojima confirmed during development over on his Twitter account.

In his message he explained that leaving the scene in would have pushed the game up to

a 17+ rating, instead of its 15 rating.

He wasn't at all happy about this, stating: "There's tolerance for fantasy games, but

for games where you show war or real violence between people, you apparently can't complain

about anything.

With this, it seems impossible to communicate something through games."

The affected scene wasn't known at the time, but when release day came around it was discovered

to have been the scene which shows Big Boss being tortured with electricity.

How did the Japanese version change this?

By changing it to tickling torture instead...

As you can see here, the Japanese dialogue was also altered to reflect the change.

Stangelove says that the rod is a "laughing rod" and that "the electrical charge that

is emitted will directly stimulate [his] ascending nerve pathways".

"Tickling for answers, how original", Big Boss replies.

The next game to face censorship issues in Japan was 2013's Metal Gear Rising.

Kojima didn't comment on this one, but this could be due to the fact he was much less

involved in the title's development.

The censorship issues were in relation to the hack and slash title's heavy use of red

blood.

This saw the Japanese version on the right replace the blood with white blood instead.

Metal Gear veterans will be familiar with seeing white blood, with this being the colour

of Raiden's blood in Metal Gear Solid 4 worldwide.

In the Metal Gear universe, 'white blood' is a type of artificial blood initially developed

for military use.

However, in Metal Gear canon, white blood had become outdated by the time of the events

of Metal Gear Rising.

As the Metal Gear Wikia explains, Raiden now uses a more advanced blood that's red in colour

and this is also confirmed in-game in a codec conversation with Doktor.

For the Japanese version though, they had to sacrifice this element due to the CERO

rating system.

The next game to have edits was Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes in 2014.

Kojima, again, spoke out against the changes prior to release.

Speaking to the Japanese magazine Famitsu, it was reported that Kojima was very unhappy

about this and he said that CERO "understood nothing of the symbolic meaning of this scene".

The scene in question shows Paz, a young women, having a bomb surgically removed from her

stomach.

The English version is on the left, whereas the Japanese version is on the right and,

as shown, multiple changes were made to the camera angle to hide the bomb being removed

and the large open wound in her stomach.

You can also see various internal organs in the English version on the left and these

were either obscured by the camera angle, or the graphics were changed so that they

no longer appear.

Around this time, Kojima made some other statements regarding video games tackling sensitive subjects,

which could also be seen as pretty relevant.

Here he said: "If we don't cross that line, if we don't

make attempts to express what we really want to express, games will only be games."

"If we don't try to go beyond that, we won't be able to achieve what movies or novels have

achieved.

I didn't want to stay away from these things that could be considered sensitive.

If we don't go that far, games will never be considered as culture."

Unfortunately for Kojima, his next and last game in the Metal Gear series, Metal Gear

Solid V: The Phantom Pain ,would also face issues in Japan.

Kojima didn't speak too much about it though this time, with him only tweeting out to inform

people that only one scene had to be changed in the Japanese version and this was, again,

due to violence.

The censored scene shouldn't be too surprising considering it's very similar in nature to

the altered scene in Ground Zeroes.

In one of Big Boss' hallucinations, Paz is depicted as reliving her experiences with

the bomb in Mother Base's medical bay.

She is shown pulling at the bomb inside of her stomach and in the English version on

the left, you can clearly see intestines coming out of her wound.

The Japanese version didn't remove any blood but the sight of the intestines was what proved

to be too much and so you won't be able to see the internal organs over in Japan.

But, with that is now the last Metal Gear from series creator Hideo Kojiima and, following

the split from Konami, Kojima's Metal Gear is no more.

Konami is set on continuing the franchise though and the new game, Metal Gear Survive,

which is a zombie game with minimal story, has had no censorship changes found.

As mentioned earlier in the video though, it's not just Japan that's had to have changes

made to the series but also other regions around the world.

This is, of course, something that Censored Gaming wants to take a look at one day and

so if this and other censorship-related videos are something that you are interested in,

please consider hitting that subscribe button and, until next time, thank you for watching.

History Bubble Australia: military junta and convict uprising - Duration: 7:55.

Hello and welcome to the fourth episode of history bubble Australia.

last episode we saw the struggle of the early colonists of the early penal colony of new

south wales And how it survived on the fringe of starvation.

but by 1792 with the help of British supplies a sustainable food source.

That year the first governor of the colony Arthur Phillips had also left it.

But a new governor would not arrive in the colony for three years so following this power

vacuum the military took control of the colony.

the new south wales corps as they were called was a regiment that had accompanied the first

fleet to australia with the goal of being guards for the convicts.

their leader francis grose had been lieutenant governor of new south wales at the time of

phillips departure and had now become the colonies de facto leader of new south wales.

Grose started his rule by putting most civil affairs in the hands of the military and appointing

fellow corps members at the highest positions.

the average corps members standard of living started to increase more and more.

at first the changes were small such as giving back the soldiers their original rations that

had been decreased under philip to the same as the convicts.

but the advantages just grew and grew with bigger rations more clothes and soon even

25 acres of land was given out to each members of the corps who wanted it.

the officers were even more privileged as they go 100 acres for free as well as ten

convict workers paid for by the government to work this land.

they also monopolised all imports and took tariffs on all goods sold from ships arriving

in sydney.

This added with the already high prices from delivering goods to such a remote place made

everything extremely expensive.

the biggest of these imports was rum which they sold to the convicts making many of them

drunkards mostly unable to work making early colonial Australia a drunken mess.

The biggest hope for a convict or former convict under the corps was to join it as it constantly

needed new members as the number of convicts increased.

The other wasd the hope of being given a land grant that were still given out although much

fewer than preceding and succeeding governors.

but more than half who had been given these had lost their land before the turn of the

century.

mostly because of flood, drought and fire but also laziness, drunkenness and inexperience

in farming.

there was also much harder for a ex-convict to work since the officers were always given

the best land and workers and also go much cheaper tools even when they already could

afford much more than ex-convicts.

the corps soon had control over everything from the livestock to the stores, farms and

even the convicts themselfs.

So even when real governors arrived to the colony they had a hard time expressing their

authority over the corps.

This was especially true for the first real governor after phillip, John Hunter.

He wanted to express his authority but was unable to do so as he could not find a way

to do so without triggering a rebellion from the corps.

he tried diplomacy and policy change but the corps grip on sydney was to great soo it was

all futile.

Hunters inability to deal with the corps led to his dismissal in favor of Philip Gidley

king the former lieutenant governor of norfolk island.

the first issue he tackled was the abundance of alcohol and drunkenness in the colony by

regulating liquor traffic and discouraging trade ships from selling rum to the colony

decreasing it to a third of what it once was.

He also increased the imports into Australia with the hopes of breaking the monopolies

mostly controlled by the new south wales corps and established a public warehouse.

he also tried to take back control of the convict labor from the corps and to control

the prices of sold goods which was partly successful..

The free framers were now also to sell their goods directly to the government as under

Philip and farming soon became almost self sustainable on the continent.

Livestock in the colony also quintupled under his rule covering large expenses in the name

of growth.

but this self sustainment broke in 1806 when a large flood struck destroying most of that

years harvest and they needed a few years to recover.

in 1803 port phillip (melbourne) was colonized after some french ships had been seen on the

coast and even landing there.

308 convicts were sent there, buty the port was even more disappointing than botany bay.

the infertile ground, little water, bugs and the constantly shifting tides.

Everyone in melbourne was discontent and a mutiny was brewing among marines so many were

flogged and many escapes into bush occured. this colony was soon abandoned and the people

living there instead joined up with an expeditionary force in tasmania where they would start colonisation

instead.

in 1798 there had been a revolt in ireland and many of the revoters had cottet the punishment

of transportation as to get rid of them without creating martyrs.

these men were treated much worse than the average prisoner both being irish and a possible

conspirators.

many of the united irishmen as the participants in the revolt were called were being treated

worse and worse and soon some of the united irishman former leaders were rounded up and

flogged and sent to norfolk just for being suspected of planning a revolt.

Maybe it was inevitable or it was a reaction to their poor treatment but in either case

the irish revolted in 1804.

their plan was to first take the ill guarded settlement castle hill and to weapons and

supplies to then link up with irish in parramatta and storm sydney.

but they had no fixed date and only a codeword to signal the revolts start.

on a march evening the revolt began and convicts started to gather up weapons mostly scythes

and axes but also a few muskets.

the revolters started by burning farms and threatening other irish to join them and a

few people were beaten up.

they were soon going to parramatta after having taken the unguarded castle hill.

five hours after the revolt started King herd of it and dispatched 66 soldiers to deal with

it.

when the soldiers arrived in parramatta it seemed relatively unharmed and the chase continued

as the forces were split to chase the revolters.

when the corps finally caught up with the irish the convicts were mostly hungover from

last nights drinking and the entucasim was gone. and after a few volleys from less than

thirty rifles the convicts turned to flee.and not a single soldier had died. and over the

next few days the revoters were captured and most leaders hanged for the public to see.

the others were flogged half to death and were put to hard labor with a diet just above

starvation

kings rule covered huge cost for the british but also led to future lesser spending as

the amount of people under government rations became over half of what it had been before

him and the colony grew ever more self sustainable.

he also established a few schools and medical facilities.

he left the colony i 1806 and with his departure we will leave australia for this episode hope

to see you next time as i will cover the first settlement on norfolk island were we will

meet king once again.

Duetto Concepts: Innovation for Hotels - Duration: 3:01.

No longer do not just hoteliers but also consumers or businesses have the luxury of waiting to

see what the herd is doing, and then following the herd.

The time that you have to capitalize on opportunities is shrinking and shrinking fast.

And if you wait and see to see what happens, it could actually be terminal.

You wait too long, and you actually die.

My fear is the late majority is going to find themselves in a very difficult position, because

they haven't embraced technology early enough and then become more adaptive to the changing

market.

The mountain that they're going to have to climb when they eventually decide to become

truly digital — it's going to be too late, and they're going to get overtaken by competitors

that they probably don't even know exist today.

There needs to be a cultural change.

I think there needs to be recognition that the way of doing things historically is no

longer the way to do things moving forward.

And it's easier said than done.

I understand hotels' position, and I understand their nervousness.

But they do need to be bold.

They need to understand that they have to change behaviors within their organizations,

and that behavioral change then lays the platform for innovation, allowing them to try and fail,

try and fail, and then succeed.

Not everything they try is going to work the first time, but if you create an environment

— a culture — of innovation, almost a startup culture, that just becomes the way

of doing business.

That becomes part of your DNA, and you don't cry over the spilled milk when something doesn't

work out.

You pick yourself up and you try again.

You will find success as a result of that mentality and that sort of A/B testing, if

you like.

Let's try different things and see what works, and when something does work, we'll reap the

rewards.

If it doesn't work, we move on and we try something else.

There's a degree of denial.

I think they think if they just continue to do things the way they've always done them,

if they be hospitable, if they treat the guests the same way that they've always treated them,

things will be fine.

They'll be OK.

I don't think that is the case.

We don't know what the modern consumer wants and needs, and we've got to stay very close

to them.

And we need to — their desires and their wants change very quickly.

We need to be responsive to those changing needs.

The modern consumer just expects things to be seamless and frictionless, and if we continue

to have friction points — whether it's our check-in and check-out, ordering room service,

whatever the case may be — if we continue to have those friction points and we don't

remove them through automation, those guests will vote with their feet and move to the

competitor next door.

Out of Context: How to Make Bad History Worse - Duration: 19:26.

There are a number of myths and counter myths involving the end World War 2.

It was Russia declaring war, and not the atomic bombs, that convinced Japan to surrender.

Not dropping the bombs would have cost hundreds of thousands of American lives during the

invasion.

But perhaps my favorite is the leaflets.

Critics of the use of the atomic bomb make it sound like the bombs weren't dropped

out of necessity, but some sort of bloodthirsty rage or even morbid curiosity.

"And they haven't used the bomb yet and were curious to see if it works, so they drop

it on Japan.

They actually dropped two."

But they leave out the fact that in the weeks prior to the bombing, the US dropped leaflets

on three dozen Japanese cities warning civilians that these cities would be bombed and to evacuate.

Including Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

Critics of the leaflets point out that they didn't specifically say atomic bomb and

that the picture is of B-29s dropping firebombs.

But remember, this is 1945.

Atomic bomb wasn't really in anyone's vocabulary, so explicitly saying atomic bomb

wouldn't really make sense to the – forgive the pun here – target audience.

And what difference would it make?

This is Tokyo after being firebombed and this is Hiroshima after being atomic bombed.

It doesn't matter whether it's one bomb or hundreds, the effect is basically the same.

In fact, more people died in Tokyo than Hiroshima or Nagasaki.

After Hiroshima, we started dropping leaflets specifically saying "We are in possession

of the most destructive explosive ever devised by man.

If you still have any doubt, make inquiry as to what happened to Hiroshima."

This was somewhat of a bluff though since we only had the two and we used both of them,

we wouldn't have another one for several weeks… but they didn't know that.

A few weeks ago I was asked by….

Fiosracht?

To respond to a twitter rant regarding Winston Churchill.

I won't respond to the entire thing in this video, but link down below.

It got me thinking about the many ways that people pluck out pieces of history, maybe

dust off the context and embellish parts in order to make it fit the story they want to

tell.

While the twitter thread itself never mentions it, several others commented that Winston

Churchill didn't care about Australia and said things like "let the Japanese have

it."

Australians often call it the Great Betrayal and this is somewhat of a mischaracterization.

After the Fall of France in 1940, when the Battle of Britain started, the British met

with the Americans to figure out a strategy for World War 2.

They agreed on two major points.

The Atlantic and European areas were the "decisive theater" and as such would be the primary

focus of US military efforts.

A defensive strategy in the Far East/Pacific.

This is commonly referred to as the Germany First plan.

There was no plan to cede territory to the Japanese just get it back later, in fact one

of the sub-points was The security of the British Commonwealth must

be maintained in all circumstance including the retention of a Far East position.

Both the US and Britain agreed that since Nazi Germany was rapidly expanding and on

Britain's doorstep, that it was the greatest threat and even the backbone of the Axis powers.

And so it should be the primary focus of the war.

But the US wasn't in the war yet.

We were not-so-covertly helping Britain, France, and Russia, but not officially.

Of course, all of that changed on December 7th, 1941, a date which will live in infamy.

There is seriously so much to say about Pearl Harbor, but I would like to focus on the conspiracy

theory that FDR let Pearl Harbor happen in order to justify getting into the war.

This is a real conspiracy theory, you can look it up, there are dozens of videos and

books on the topic.

The main problem here is that they're focusing on just Pearl Harbor.

Like they have historical tunnel vision or something.

To be fair, when we look back, that's the only one we talk about since it was on the

front page of every newspaper and it even got entire Michael Bay explosions devoted

to it.

In the December 7th, 1941, a date which will live in infamy speech given by Jon Voight

in that movie, he says…

"The attack yesterday on the Hawaiian Islands has caused severe damage to American military

forces.

I regret to tell you that over 3000 American lives have been lost."

Which makes it seem like Hawaii was the only place that was attacked.

But as accurate as that movie is, that's an abridged version of the speech.

"I regret to tell you that very many American lives have been lost.

In addition American ships have been reported torpedoed on the high seas between San Francisco

and Honolulu.

Yesterday, the Japanese government also launched an attack against Malaya.

Last night, Japanese forces attacked Hong Kong.

Last night, Japanese forces attacked Guam.

Last night, Japanese forces attacked the Philippine Islands.

Last night, the Japanese attacked Wake Island.

And this morning the Japanese attacked Midway Island.

Japan has therefore undertaken a surprise offensive extending throughout the Pacific

area."

Saying FDR let Pearl Harbor happen is a myopic view of history that strips away the fact

that dozens of islands and countries across the Pacific were all attacked at once.

Pearl Harbor was by far the most important to the American military, but certainly not

the only one.

American entry into World War 2 was inevitable at this point.

FDR didn't need to sacrifice nearly every US territory in the Pacific, thousands of

American lives, five battleships and about a dozen other smaller ships to justify it.

Ah, but what about the carriers?

Stan, mmk.

At the time of the attack on Pearl Harbor, aircraft carriers were still somewhat of a

novelty and curiosity.

We only had 3 in the Pacific Fleet.

The undisputed pride of the US Navy was its battleships, 8 of which were in Pearl Harbor

on that day.

The primary objective of the Japanese attack in Pearl Harbor was to disable the battleships

– they launched the attack knowing that the carriers weren't in the harbor, and

not caring, because they weren't seen as important.

A major part of the conspiracy is that the carriers weren't at Pearl Harbor.

Suggesting that FDR thought they were more important than any admiral moved them so they

wouldn't be destroyed in the coming attack.

So where were they?

The USS Lexington was delivering dive bombers to Midway.

The USS Saratoga was in San Diego.

And the USS Enterprise had just finished delivering a squadron of fighters to Wake Island and

was returning to Pearl Harbor that morning.

Many of its fighters actually participated in Pearl Harbor's defense ahead of the carrier's

arrival.

Ben Affleck and Josh Hartnett weren't the only ones flying around that day.

All of these missions were planned separately, weeks before the attack on Pearl Harbor.

The reason people find this suspicious is because aircraft carriers were key to our

victory over Japan.

This is historical hindsight at its worst.

Think about it, what did we have left after Pearl Harbor?

Since all of our battleships were either damaged or sunk.

Aircraft carriers.

So we were forced to use what we had left, and we suddenly realized that these former

novelty items were actually pretty dang useful.

Once America declared war on Japan, anti-Japanese sentiment exploded.

Americans were suspicious of any Japanese person living in America, thinking they might

be spies or saboteurs… which…

remember this scene from Pearl Harbor?

Yeah, that actually happened, his name was Tadashi Morimura, or actually Takeo Yoshikawa.

Though, we didn't find out about him until well after the war.

Suspicions and racial tensions were excessively high and as a result, FDR signed an executive

order that moved all people of Japanese ancestry from the western states to internment camps

in the interior of the country.

Many people, who want to make this event sound as bad as possible, will call them concentration

camps.

And I guess by literal definition, they could be considered concentration camps.

But also by literal definition, if you try to kill more than one person, that's genocide.

It's the connotation, the background meaning that's evoked when you hear the phrase that's

important.

When you hear concentration camp, you think of that one specific concentration camp.

When they weren't at all comparable in terms of purpose or end result.

These weren't labor camps or death camps.

In fact more people came out of the camps than went in.

Yes, people died, but the death toll in the internment camps was actually no higher than

the outside civilian population, and there were more births than deaths.

"Adults could work if they wanted to, for a measly salary of $5 a day."

Five dollars a day sounds awfully low.

But we're in 2018.

They were paid five dollars in 1942 money, which is almost 80 dollars today.

To put that into perspective, a private in the US military in 1942 made 50 dollars a

month.

"Measly" is an added adjective to make it sound worse.

I'm not saying the conditions weren't awful, but Internment Camp is a perfectly

accurate term for what they were.

As awful as Heart Mountain, Wyoming might've been, it wasn't Auschwitz.

When you exaggerate everything, you diminish everything.

When everything is the worst thing that ever happened, nothing is.

We should all be able to agree that both internment camps and concentration camps were both bad

– but one of them was clearly worse.

The camps were absolutely racially motivated and without any hard evidence of military

necessity.

Two-thirds of the internees were US citizens and I'm willing to bet all of them were

loyal to the United States.

I personally don't agree with it, but when it's put into the wider historical context,

I can at least try to understand it.

But I'm saying that with 2018 Hindsight.

Get it?

Instead of 20/20?

I thought it was funny.

When talking about the Japanese Internment Camps, people often point to Hawaii as an

odd example.

Since that's where the Pearl Harbor attack happened, and over a third of the population

was Japanese and they weren't rounded up into camps.

They usually say something to the effect of how devastating it would have been to the

economy.

"The military governor of Hawaii actually said, please don't do this you can't do

it, it's impractical, we could never pull it off and you're going to wreck the territory's

economy.

Just leave it alone."

Did you catch that?

Because it's really subtle.

"The military governor" Hawaii did have an internment camp, it only

held about 1400 people but more importantly, the entire island was placed under martial

law.

As in, barbed wire on the beach, tanks in the streets, freaks in sheets, martial law.

Hawaii wasn't some liberal paradise where everyone got along in racial harmony despite

the war.

There were travel restrictions, no radio stations, curfews, and a blackout.

Which meant that you had to cover all doors and windows, you weren't allowed to light

fires or drive around with your headlights on at night.

This was done so that Japanese bombers flying overhead wouldn't be able to find their

targets.

Not that they ever tried bombing at night, but still.

They even printed special money just for Hawaii so that if it ever got invaded, the US Government

could immediately render it useless.

So just saying that Hawaii didn't have a camp and they didn't round up all the Japanese

is inaccurate.

Because the entire territory was on military lockdown, like one giant internment camp.

But, there were some Japanese Americans, mostly from Hawaii, who joined the military.

"One of the last German units to see action in World War 2 was the 33rd Waffen Grenadier

Division, which participated in the defense of central Berlin.

And that was comprised of French volunteers.

And of course, some Japanese people fought for America in the Second World War.

The 442nd Infantry Regiment of the United States Army was made up almost entirely of

soldiers of Japanese ancestry."

These two units are not at all comparable.

The 33rd Waffen Grenadier Division was made up of French people, from France, fighting

for the Germans, against France.

The 442nd Infantry Regiment was made up of Japanese people, from America, fighting for

America, against… the Germans.

Yeah, the reason why is actually both smart and a little racist.

They were assigned to Europe not because they were worried that the Japanese would defect,

but because they were worried that other American soldiers would mistake them for the enemy.

There weren't a lot of enemy Japanese people running around Europe at the time so… yeah.

They were American soldiers fighting for America, they weren't at all traitors to their nation.

In the aftermath of World War 1, when the Ottoman Empire was broken up, Britain got

control of a large section of the Middle East.

It's actually a pretty interesting story, someone should make a video about that.

Would you like to know more?

The very first tweet in that Churchill rant is about the British occupation of Afghanistan.

But Afghanistan's not part of the Middle East.

Alright, Stan, mmk.

"While he was there Churchill discovered his passion for war and viewed the Pashtuns

as beneath him.

Going so far as saying that 'all who resist will be killed without quarter.'

That they 'needed to recognize the superiority of race"

"He wrote about how 'We systematically, village by village, destroyed the houses,

filled up the wells, blew down the towers, cut down the great shady trees, burned the

crops and broke the reservoirs in punitive devastation."

This makes Churchill look pretty bad, right?

Well here's a question for you – what year is this?

He rather conveniently leaves that information out, because it's 1897.

1897 isn't even close to World War 2.

Stan, mmk. Churchill is a 22 year old war correspondent for the Telegraph, he's not

exactly the Prime Minister or in charge of… anything.

And everything he was quoted as saying is wartime propaganda – we do the exact same

thing in every single war.

I am tempted to quote the great Leonard Cohen, I am guided by the beauty of our weapons.

And they are beautiful pictures of fearsome armaments.

I'm not saying it's a good thing, I'm just saying it makes a lot more sense when

you put it in context.

"Churchill was 'Secretary of State for the Colonies' in '21.

This is when he decided air power was superior to troops on the ground and he bombed the

s*** out of any resistance" He advocated for the use of the air force

rather than troops because it was cheaper.

No other reason really.

"'I am strongly in favour of using poisoned gas against the uncivilized tribes, it would

spread a lively terror.'"

But that isn't the full quote is it?

… No, it isn't: "I am strongly in favour of using poisoned

gas against uncivilised tribes.

The moral effect should be so good that the loss of life should be reduced to a minimum.

It is not necessary to use only the most deadly gasses: gasses can be used which cause great

inconvenience and would spread a lively terror and yet would leave no serious permanent effects

on most of those affected."

He advocated for the use of non-lethal tear gas to subdue rebellions.

It's pretty important to note that they never actually used any gas – of any kind.

He just kind of suggested it.

But there is one Arab Revolt that he doesn't bring up – The Anglo-Iraqi War.

The thing about revolts and independence movements in the middle of a war is that you never really

know who's behind it.

Is it a natural uprising from within – or is it being funded and supported by your enemy?

The Germans did this a lot.

In fact, during World War 1 they tried it in Afghanistan against the British, which

didn't work.

They tried to get Mexico to start a war with the United States in order to keep the Americans

occupied and out of Europe.

Which also didn't work.

In order to get Russia out of the war, they funded and sent Vladimir Lenin to Moscow to

start an internal coup.

Which did work, rather famously actually.

And Spain didn't participate in WW2, because it had just finished fighting an internal

civil war, supported by… the Nazis.

So it shouldn't surprise you to find out that the leader of the Iraqi revolt was the

Ba'ath Party, yes, the same Ba'ath Party that this guy was part of.

Supported by, say it with me – Germany… or the Nazis, whichever one you said.

Revolts and independence movements during a war are never a good idea for this very

reason – they're going to crack down on you even harder.

You can't pick and choose revolts that you think were unjustly put down while ignoring

the ones you now know were justly put down, because you're coming at it with 70 plus

years of extra knowledge.

In the moment, whether it's funded by the enemy or a natural uprising of the people,

it all looks the same.

I got a lot of flak for saying that during my video on Gandhi, and I got comments like

this, saying "No reason why a country can't fight for

independence instead of waging a war in Europe."

India wasn't fighting in Europe, they were fighting in India.

Indians were fighting against the Japanese, who were right here, this is India.

So when the enemy is right on your doorstep and you start demanding independence… it

raises some questions is all I'm saying.

But the twitter rant mentions India as well.

"He orchestrated a mass genocide in Bengal."

"It was a famine in the same sense that we had a famine over here.

He starved over 4 million Bengalis in 1943."

It's actually two million, not that makes it any better.

This bit right here is Bengal, it's part of India and also happens to be the front

line.

So food was often shipped back from the front line or reserved for the military, and whenever

the Japanese would advance they'd burn it all so that it wouldn't be captured.

So there was a famine.

"Churchill refused all said to Bengal.

Canada and US offered rice and he refused."

What?

Your first clue that this is false should be that Canada and the US aren't exactly

known for their bountiful agriculture of rice.

They offered wheat, not rice.

But Churchill declined because it would take two months to ship it and that's assuming

it made it through all of this mess.

The United States didn't offer anything, that part is just plain made up.

In fact, in 1944 when Churchill wrote to FDR asking for help, saying

"I am seriously concerned about the food situation in India…

I have had much hesitation in asking you to add to the great assistance you are giving

us with shipping but a satisfactory situation in India is of such vital importance to the

success of our joint plans against the Japanese that I am impelled to ask you to consider

a special allocation of ships to carry wheat to India."

FDR refused, for the exact same reasons that Churchill decline Canada's offer.

Instead, Churchill ordered Australia to ship 350,000 tons of wheat, although the reallocation

of ships was still an issue given the upcoming Normandy invasion.

The writer of these tweets, and indeed many of the other things I've mentioned, seems

to want to pluck these events out of World War 2 and talk about them as if they were

the only thing going on at the time.

It's only when you put it in the larger context that things make sense.

This isn't always nefarious, it has a lot to do with just how we tell stories.

Nobody wants to hear about the second worst time something happened.

Just like with people, we want to label events as either good or bad.

But that's not interesting enough, it also has to be the worst.

Not everyone was as bad as Hitler and not everything was as bad as the Holocaust.

The actual history is bad enough on its own.

Exaggerating or embellishing, or cherrypicking things out of context casts doubt on the rest

of history.

Especially if the person ever finds out that there's more to the story.

So the next time you see someone being labeled as a genocidal maniac…

Gee, where have I heard that before… or hear that people were rounded up into concentration

camps, maybe look into the story a little more because now, you know better.
