Youtube daily report Mar 6 2018

When you go to a fast food joint, you're not asking for much: a fast, filling meal at a

decent price, and… that's about it.

But sometimes you don't even get that.

So the next time you hit up your local drive-thru for dinner, take a close look at your receipt.

Here's a look at some times that fast food restaurants cheated customers.

Burger King's Croissan'wich

Burger King ended 2017 by settling a class action lawsuit claiming Maryland customers

had been cheated for almost two years.

The lawsuit was filed by Koleta Anderson of Maryland, who claimed customers who used a

Buy One, Get One coupon for BK's Croissan'wich were paying an inflated price.

Anderson says when she used the coupon, she was charged $3.19 for a single sandwich.

Without the coupon, she was charged $2.16 for the same sandwich.

And this wasn't a one time thing: she claimed that Burger King was intentionally hiking

prices for people with the coupon, as she and her lawyer were similarly overcharged

at several other locations

BK denied there was any funny business going on...but they still settled the matter and

agreed to hand out some $2 and $5 gift cards.

That was nice of them.

McDonald's Extra Value Meals

The whole point of ordering an Extra Value Meal is that it's convenient and it's cheaper

than ordering the components individually.

But a lawsuit filed in Illinois in 2016 alleged that's not always the case.

According to the Cook County Record, James Gertie filed the complaint when he realized

he was paying more for his Extra Value Meal than the components would cost individually.

The meal was $5.90, he said, while ordering two cheeseburgers, a medium fries, and a medium

soft drink came to $5.49.

Gertie told the Daily Herald it wasn't the money that prompted the lawsuit.

"It's because of the principle, that's the whole point of a 'value' meal.

I believe in the principle of true advertising.

If a company advertises something to be a value, then it should be."

As of early 2018, the case still hadn't reached a verdict.

Chipotle's calories

Chipotle's big bragging point is fresh ingredients, as well as their claim that they're a healthier

dining choice than their competitors.

But a class action lawsuit filed in California challenges those claims, alleging that Chipotle

was tricking customers with incomplete information.

The confusion came when diners looked at a menu board that showed a picture of the chorizo

burrito, a summary of ingredients, and a note that claimed simply, "300 calories."

Fortune reported that Chipotle's nutrition calculator actually gives you a total of 930

calories for just a chorizo burrito with white rice and black beans.

Turns out, the 300 calories on the menu was just for the chorizo alone, with no other

ingredients or fillings added.

And that's a problem for Chipotle, as California law requires restaurants to make complete

nutritional information available to customers.

So far, no resolution has been reached, though Chipotle has dropped chorizos in favor of

queso.

Dunkin' Donuts' imposter ingredients

Everybody loves Dunkin Donuts, right?

"Yeah I come to Dunkin everyday.

Grab a 'crolla, have an extra large, three Parliaments, take a big dump - that's kinda the

routine."

Well, okay, not everyone.

In fact, in 2017, the Dunks was hit with three different lawsuits alleging bogus replacement

ingredients.

In April, a Massachusetts customer got a settlement out of a lawsuit filed against the coffee

and donut chain claiming customers at a group of 20 locations were being served margarine

or butter substitute, even if they asked for butter.

Then, in June, a lawsuit in New York accused the company of using ground beef instead of

steak in their steak-and-egg sandwiches.

And in August, another class action lawsuit was filed claiming products labeled as "blueberry"

didn't contain any actual blueberries, and instead used sugary "flavored crystals."

"Time to make the donuts!"

Sure, it might be time to make the donuts.

The question is: make them with what?

Hmm.

"The best part of my day is when I'm at Dunkin.

You think that's sad?"

"Yes, very."

"Real customers know, the holidays run on Dunkin."

Jimmy Johns' sprout fiasco

In 2014, a disgruntled customer sued Jimmy Johns because she didn't get alfalfa sprouts

— even though they were clearly listed on the menu.

It turns out there was a pretty good reason: in 2012, there was an E. Coli outbreak traced

to sprouts served at Jimmy Johns, among other places.

Jimmy Johns responded by removing the item entirely from their meals, but didn't alter

their menus to reflect the change.

Jimmy Johns denied any wrongdoing in the case of the missing alfalfa sprouts, but still

settled and agreed to give unhappy customers a voucher for $1.40 that could be redeemed

for any side item or soft drink… but not a side of sprouts.

McDonald's fry cheat

If you think you've been shortchanged on your McDonald's French fry order, there might be

a good reason for that, according to McDonald's employees who posted on Reddit.

"They say they would told to pinch the base of the cardboard carton so it would take fewer

fries to make it look full."

Other employees confirmed the practice — and that customers occasionally called them out

on it — but a McDonald's representative told the Huffington Post no such policy exists.

We'll let our stomachs be the judge of that.

Subway's great "footlong" debate

Finally, there's the infamous case of the Subway Footlong.

In 2013, a customer at a Subway in Australia posted a photo of his footlong sub next to

a tape measure that showed it was only 11 inches long.

The internet was not about to stand for that sort of thing, and a group filed a class action

lawsuit against Subway.

It turned out that the case of the disappearing inch was a result of how the bread baked,

and since all loaves start from the same amount of dough, you're guaranteed to get a particular

amount of bread.

In spite of that, the case was settled for $525,000 and that should have ended it.

One sub-loving plaintiff refused to settle, however, and kept the case going.

It wasn't until August 2017 that the entire case was thrown out because...the judged deemed

it to be really stupid.

So, while you might not be getting exactly 12 inches of bread, the courts say you're

still getting your money's worth.

Just think about that before you stick your footlong in your mouth.

Rimac's C Two Electric Car is Really Fast | Geneva Motor Show 2018 - Duration: 1:28.

Well, Rimac.

I guess no one ever told it, "Just because you can, doesn't mean you should."

But they did it, those crazy fools.

Their new C2 concept is bewildering.

But I suppose I shouldn't fault the company.

1,914 horsepower is pretty badass.

As well as a supposed top speed of 248 mph.

That is, on paper at least.

And 0-60 in 1.85 [seconds]?

Sure!

Why not?

Despite the fact that the car can allegedly drive itself to the track, I still want

to be in control as I put the pedal to the floor and listen to the vroom of the

electric motor.

Maybe I can even mod it to sound like a lion roar as I tear through the streets at the

speed of light.

The founder had some strange things to say about the car's "DNA":

–When it comes to the design, the proportions are completely new compared to the

Concept One but we can still see our design DNA.

We continued to refine our DNA and the key features of our cars, so what you can see

here on the side is our signature tie and one of the most important attributes to the

dynamic of the car because this is the air intake for the rear powertrain—so we have

separate cooling systems for the front powertrain and the battery, and separate cooling systems for

the rear of the powertrain, so we have 7 cooling systems separately in this car.

–They're expected to make about 100 units in total.

I can only imagine how wild it'd be to get a test ride.

For now, we'll just have to wait.

be you okay guys let's get on to these awesome boxing's of these grips and

accessories the power launcher grip sky blue right now this launcher is running

about thirty to sixty dollars I'm not sure if it's worth it or we're gonna

check it out I'm comparing it to this red take a look at these difference

between these two clips this is a added rubber grip this is an ergonomic grip

this is supposed to wrap around your hand together okay let me grab this and

see how it feels it feels good I think it's good for your launch if you have

smaller hands you'll have it a bit tighter and this little plastic thing is

helping me right now I'm gonna test it let's see how the power launcher grip

feels that actually felt kind of good on my

head now on shoe I think this helps right here this big spot you see this

big spot right here this added a little extra support when I launched it cuz

when you launch it gives you like kind of looks good pressure on this and then

one more time pocket lets you felt really good on this side

this side actually felt pretty good a lot of support when I rip in it felt

good next I'm going to check out power

trigger here it is it's kind of springy I think it's because you will get

stronger by pushing this every time you watch this red rubber grip is running

for about $28 what's the reason I really like it it looks a little corn up feels

good there we go the power trigger runs to about 15 to 20

dollars yeah actually kind of feels it so you get a better grip it's a little

bit alive in a little bit hard but I'm pretty sure it helps your fingers get

BREAKING: They Just TOOK OVER Trump's Entire Building! - Duration: 4:49.

BREAKING: They Just TOOK OVER Trump's Entire Building!

A colossal dispute has been going on and it just to the outbreak of a massive fight in

a stairwell at one of Trump's properties.

The blazing disagreement eventually settled, and that's when they completely took over

President Trump's entire building.

This is one battle Trump was unable to win as he lost a building in Panama to the majority

owner, Orestes Fintiklis.

There was a 12-day standoff, a nasty fist fight, and this massive ordeal involved everyone

from the Panamanian government judicial, the local police, and even the employees who ripped

Trump's name off the signs.

Reports by Fox News suggest this was a commercial business dispute that was unable to be settled.

It began when Fintiklis tried to serve termination notices for the Trump management team, but

they turned him down and refused to hear or see what he was bringing.

Fintiklis then filed a legal complaint that included a reference to Trump's team destroying

hotel documents, but that could have been nothing less than an accusation to make a

claim seem more viable.

It became like a scene from the movies when security from both sides began fighting and

trying to take control of the building.

The condo association also got involved, and they were shoved out of the way.

A fist fight with opposing security teams broke out as well.

Fox News provided more information on the topic:

"Workers at the Trump Ocean Club International Hotel in Panama City pried off President Trump's

name from the building Monday in an apparent sign the Trump Organization lost a 12-day

standoff over control of the property.

The days-long stalemate for the luxury hotel came after a Panamanian judicial official

and police officers backed the hotel's majority owner, Orestes Fintiklis, over the Trump-affiliated

management.

"Today, this dispute has been settled by the judges and the authorities of this country,"

Fintiklis, a Miami-based private equity investor and head of the hotel owners' association,

said, according to Reuters.

"Today, Panama has made us proud."

Fintiklis added the ordeal "was purely a commercial dispute that just spun out of control."

The most recent feuding between the two parties began on Feb. 22 when Fintiklis came to the

hotel to serve termination notices for Trump's management team, but Trump hotel officials

turned the businessman away.

Fintiklis later that day filed a legal complaint alleging he and others witnessed Trump's

management team destroying hotel documents, which Trump officials have denied.

For more than a week, Trump's hotel business staved off efforts by Fintiklis and his allies

to gain control of the property, with rival security teams skirmishing over physical control

of key infrastructure.

That included the administrative offices and the hotel's closed caption security system,

which was housed in the condo association within the same building.

Grainy footage of the encounter obtained by The Associated Press shows Trump security

officials shoving a representative of the condo owners' association and a brawl in

a stairwell between opposing security guards.

Initially invited by Trump's managers, the Panamanian police repeatedly visited the hotel

to keep the peace.

At least one Trump security official was taken off the property in handcuffs, though a police

source told the AP he was not arrested."

Team Trump considered efforts by Fintiklis to be like something that a mob of thugs would

do in hopes to overtake a building that's possibly not theirs.

The Trump team also stated that they would not leave the premises until a proper arbitration

and litigation was complete, making the decision official by the ruling provided.

Trump's staff left the building, but on their own terms and after they determined

it was appropriate.

Fox News stated that it was only a matter of two hours until someone showed up with

a hammer to remove Trump's name from the front of the signage.

That could be nothing more than a symbolic gesture sent to irritate Donald Trump.

However, Trump probably does not care very much since he's the President of the United

States of America and has much bigger things to worry about.

This may be a small loss for Trump's management team, but they held strong and waited until

it was decidedly appropriate to vacate the premises and prevent further violence from

ensuing.

The photograph depicts the man removing Trump's name with a hammer.

BREAKING! Major News From North Korea! TRUMP Taking Direct Action NOW! - Duration: 5:35.

BREAKING!

Major News From North Korea!

TRUMP Taking Direct Action NOW!

For the first time in decades, the world is cautiously optimistic that relations with

unpredictable North Korea might be getting be on the road to recovery.

North Korea's petulant dictator has spent months threatening to attempt world domination

via newly acquired nuclear devices.

However, South Korea, Japan, and the United States have met that threat with a show of

strength that would be difficult for any country to overcome.

Becuase no one is interested in an all-out war, the United States, along with other countries,

have ended their trade arrangements with the tiny dictatorship in order to try and pressure

them into a non-violent solution.

That put a huge strain on an already under-producing country whose population wasn't doing well

before imports ended.

While countries around the world, including the United States, are very sympathetic to

the citizens of the country, the best thing that any of us can do at the moment is attempt

to keep the nation from engaging in a war that would no doubt end with the lives of

millions of North Koreans losing their lives.

To that end, President Trump, along with other world leaders have been trying to get the

North Korean dictator, Kim Jong-un, to agree to a diplomatic solution to their nuclear

threats.

Finally, there has been some news out of Korea that gives hope the nation will consider standing

down.

According to Fox News, Kim Jong-un has been speaking to his South Korean counterpart,

agreeing to at least the idea of peace with the rest of the world:

"President Trump said on Tuesday the U.S. is 'ready to go hard in either direction'

after North Korea promised to not use nuclear, or conventional weapons against Seoul and

expressed a willingness to hold talks with the United States on denuclearization.

President Trump tweeted hours after South Korea's presidential national security director

Chung Eui-yong released a statement detailing his rare two-day visit to North Korea.

He praised the 'possible progress' but remained cautious.

'Possible progress being made in talks with North Korea.

For the first time in many years, a serious effort is being made by all parties concerned.

The World is watching and waiting!

May be false hope, but the U.S. is ready to go hard in either direction!' Trump tweeted.

The Hermit Kingdom added that it's willing to give up its nuclear weapons if military

threats against North Korea subsides, Chung said hours after leaving Pyongyang.

'The North side clearly affirmed its commitment to the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula,

and said it would have no reason to possess nuclear weapons should the safety of its regime

be guaranteed and military threats against North Korea removed,' Chung said in a statement,

according to Yonhap News Agency.

Chung, who led a 10-member South Korean delegation to Pyongyang for the two-day visit, said the

North is ready to have 'heart-to-heart' talks with the U.S. about the regime's potential

denuclearization and normalization between the countries.

'It made it clear that while dialogue is continuing, it will not attempt any strategic

provocations, such as nuclear and ballistic missile tests,' the statement continued.

North and South Korea agreed to hold summit talks in April at the border.

The leaders will establish a 'hotline' communication channel to lower military tensions,

Chung added.

The comments mark a major change in tone after months of bombastic threats by the rogue regime

to keep developing its nuclear and missile program.

Last month's Pyeongchang Olympics sparked the first talks between the two Koreas that

followed a flurry of cooperative steps taken to ease tensions during the Winter Games.

North Korea sent a delegation of athletes, cheerleaders, art troupe members and officials

to Pyeongchang for the Olympics.

Kim's sister, Kim Yo Jong, labeled by the South's media as "Kim Jong Un's Ivanka,"

attended the opening ceremony and met with South Korean President Moon Jae-in over a

three-day visit.

At one point, she even wrote of her "wishes" for closer ties in a guest book at South Korea's

presidential office.

'I expect Pyongyang and Seoul to get closer in the hearts of our [Korean] people and the

future of unification and prosperity will be advanced,' Kim wrote in Korean in the

guest book, according to Yonhap News Agency.

But the 'future of unification' phrase means something far more sinister for the

Kim family and his regime.

North Korea has touted unification as a 'final victory' to the Korean War that ended in

an armistice in 1953.

In Pyongyang's view, 'unification' means Kim's brutal dictatorship would overcome

the South's government.

There have been two summits, one in 2000 and another in 2007, held between Kim's late

father, Kim Jong Il, and two liberal South Korean presidents.

They resulted in a series of cooperative projects between the Koreas that were scuttled during

subsequent conservative administrations in South Korea.""

It's encouraging to see that the President and other world leaders are both accepting

this olive branch, and also inspecting it for poisonous spiders.

No one believes that Kim Jong-un woke up one day with a heart for public service.

He either finally came to his senses and realized that if it came to war, he would be animated.

Or, he thinks he's got another shot at reuniting North and South Korea.

As the President stated, they're ready for either option.

What do you think about this?

My name is Kate Blank and I'm a parent here at Poplar Creek Elementary.

I have a fourth grade daughter and a son that will be going into kindergarten here next year.

There's so many things I love about Poplar Creek.

But for me it starts in the classroom and the class sizes.

The small class sizes are fantastic here at Poplar Creek.

My daughter's been here for five years and she's never had more than 20 students in her class.

I think the small class sizes really help the teachers with more one-on-one time with our students

And I know the individual time spent with my daughter is something that I really cherish about the school.

The teachers are my favorite part of the school.

They always smile, they invite us into the classroom at any time

Whether it be for a party or to help out with a math class at the time.

I love to see the teachers at the PTO meetings, and they are involved in all of the events we do at Poplar Creek.

I especially love that several of our teachers and our secretary here was at the Girls on the Run program

and they helped lead and empower our girls at the school.

We're really blessed and really lucky to have the teachers that we have here.

iPhone X: Camera Review | Test Drive - Duration: 5:58.

what is up guys exciting day today for us as we're just gonna hold it the new

iPhone x10 what whatever what is up guys exciting day today for us as we just go

holds a new iPhone 10 so we're gonna test out the photo and video

capabilities in the iPhone 10 you know we're gonna look at 4k low-light the

dynamic range and we want to see how it performs

now one of the great things about the iPhone is the 4k video it can shoot most

of us make videos for the web so having a 4k resolution really helps getting

that close-up you need from that much resolution the best part about shooting

in 4k is that if you plan on exporting your video to say a 1920 by 1080

resolution then you can actually scale up your 4k footage and still maintain

the picture quality it's kind of like getting to choose between two camera

shots but only having to film with one

dynamic range refers to the amount of detail that the camera can capture in

the shadows and highlights for example you may have experienced this when you

are filming or taking a picture and you have a bright sky and some shadows on

the ground most times you will have to either

expose for the sky and lose details in the shadows or expose for the shadows

and lose detail in the sky surprisingly with the shots that I took with iPhone

10 I'm quite impressed with its dynamic range so right now we're filming at 4k

regular speed and 24 frames per second so it's performing alright but I noticed

on the rock there's a lot of reflection and it's caught causing the highlights

to really blow out you're gonna you're losing the detail in the highlights but

otherwise I'm quite impressed as long as it's not too bright not too dark you can

still get a lot of details in your shot

the really great feature added to the iPhone 10 is the image stabilization on

the telephoto lens normally shooting with a telephoto lens without a tripod

will make it very shaky but now your shots are much more stable when filming

in slow motion I noticed that the camera kept changing its focus which can be

really annoying to watch also when I would pan with the camera things

appeared to look jittery and didn't seem very smooth in order to capture

slow-motion footage at 240 frames per second you would normally need a bunch

of expensive camera gear and software to go along with it so it's pretty cool

that you can achieve that all from a phone in your pocket so personally I

like to use the phone camera more for taking photos so I'm excited to see how

the photos I took with iPhone 10 turned out even though it's not technically a

macro lens which is a lens that lets you get super close to the subject without

losing focus the telephoto lens is very impressive I put the camera right up

close and it's still gone in focus as you can see I was in a restaurant

setting and the lights created a warm look and I found that the iPhone tends

auto white balance corrected this very well the front camera seems like a cool

idea with some nice features but it has some faults what the camera tries to do

is figure out where the subject of the photo is and where the background is and

then it blurs the background so that the subject stands out more in the photo

although sometimes it seemed to blur certain parts of people like their ears

thinking that it was part of the background playing around with the

portrait lighting effects like the stage light and contour light can be a lot of

fun although sometimes you could end up with a strange result like this one it

comes down to trial and error to get the look you're going for

this is an area where most cameras struggle but I'm fairly impressed with

iPhone tens performance and low-light it comes down to how you position your

subject in the available light a photo like this where the subject has her back

to the light can create washed out blacks that have a lot of noise in the

photo or you can pose your subject looking off into the sunset and get a

cleaner image now this phone as a new phone is awesome it has a brand new

interface and you almost have to relearn how to use the phone now we just covered

the phone and video capabilities but it's got a ton of other features like

the face ID and an emoji now if you're thinking about buying this phone based

on its camera functions maybe you want to reconsider based on the budget we

compared it to previous models like the iPhone 8 and 9 Phone 8 plus and we found

that the photos and videos look pretty similar to the naked eye honestly at

that price I would rather just buy a DSLR and then stick to my iPhone 7 or

iPhone 8 or whatever previous model you already have we've uploaded the photos

that we took in this video so if you want to check them out and click on the

link in the description box below hope this review was helpful now I want to

hear from you what phone camera do you like to use tell us in the comment

section below and don't forget to comment like and subscribe and we'll see

you next time so this tree here there's a lot of highlights and shadows on it

it's a good one to test out to see the dynamic range on the phone so let's give

it a shot

you

Hi, my name is Caroline. It's great to be here again at U of T

as a business and not as a student anymore.

My name is Liam Kaufman, I'm the co-founder and CEO of Winterlight Labs

This event is to get all our friends together - from academia, from industry, from government

and really kind of take note of what we're doing here

but really what this is for is for the students to show off.

So what I enjoy about supervising students is that the students

they're working on real problems that the industry actually cares about

and so, the interesting thing is getting to apply theory into real industry problems.

Presenting my project - I feel it really legitimizes the work that I've done

and it's a nice way to culminate eight months of hard work.

We hired a Masters of Applied Computing student

There's an incredible pool of students that have a deep understanding of computer science,

of machine learning and natural language processing

which is incredibly important to what we do at Winterlight Labs.

I enjoyed the challenge and just to build something from scratch gives you a lot of satisfaction.

I've acquired much more than just a Masters here - I think I've acquired lifelong connections

which are very important.

Thank you all for participating

Did My Herbs Survive the Winter? - Duration: 17:45.

♪ [music] ♪

- [Beverly] Why, Ann, I… It's so glad to finally have March here

and see an end to this brutal winter we had on the Gulf Coast.

We got to look at these herbs and see what we need to do now, if you don't mind.

Let's walk through and take a peek.

- [Ann] Let's walk through.

- A lot of things did fairly well, but some things, I know customers are a

little concerned about the way they look right now. But if you don't mind…

- Let's take a look.

- …let's walk through and see what we might be doing at this point.

- One of the things I'm seeing, Beverly, just on a quick look around is that many

of these herbs have been, especially over here in the thymes,

they've been colored up quite a bit by the cold.

- They really have.

- They give a lot of variety of color, that in the heat of the summer,

is not there.

- So I've noticed that the thymes actually held up, even in the teems and the

long-lived freezes we had, quite well. So this is kind of a general look that you

see right now in the garden and in the pots. So, is it of concern?

- I don't see it as being of concern. I think what we're watching for,

very carefully, is down in the end there part of the plant, are we seeing some new

little leaves develop on the stems that are closer to the soil.

And then I'd be interested in, you know, very soon in March, taking these long

runners off. - Runners off.

- I wouldn't want to whack them off too much, but to go ahead and take these long

runners off, that helps the new growth rise.

- Emerge as well.

- And these can certainly stand it. I'm sure they're very well-rooted.

- Well, in March, you know, there's still a chance of a frost.

Hopefully not a hard freeze,

but… - There is.

- …as long as we keep this… This crown is over winter, so it should be hardened

off and ready to go. - And ready to go.

- Right. So all the thymes, basically, I've noticed…especially you talked

about the winter color, this woolly thyme is gorgeous.

- Beautiful, and it's doing well in the bed.

- It is.

- I wouldn't have thought so, but it is. And Beverly, the one with the golden

varegation is very, very pretty, too.

- I love all the colors that they've shown. Now, the German winter thyme, too,

has done extraordinarily well.

- Well, it's a great one for this season. I know it's one of the finest culinary

thymes and also one of the ones recommended in Madalene Hill's book as a

great one for our region.

- Well, we can always take her advice to heart.

- Yes, we can. Yes, we can.

- So, what about the chives? How did they fare?

- The chives fared well. Now, in my garden, I found that many of the

longest blades, if you will, had wilted down, but behind those

are nice, fresh ones that are ready to go.

- What kind of trimming in March do we do on the chives?

- You know, cutting chives off is a radical surgery… Because what I do is take

the whole clump and just cut them all down to here…

- I got you.

- …because the new leaves of the chive have to emerge from the roots.

Those ones you cut off do not continue to grow, so do it judiciously so you'll still

have some for the kitchen.

- I got you. So what other group… I noticed the parsleys fared

outstandingly well.

- Some of our favorite plants, among the umbels particularly,

really prefer our cool seasons, so when you see these decline,

it's usually in July… - From the heat.

- …from the heat. So they should be coming along very well now. I know in my place,

I didn't cover any of this category of plant at all, and I'm especially fond

of the lovage, and these are wonderful examples, well-rooted, coming along well.

If you have some in your garden, cherish those, because the hot summer is

hard on the lovage.

- It really is, and what a great… That's one of our underused herbs, I think.

People are not aware of it with that nice, mild celery flavor. It's so nice to have

to go out in the winter months for your soups and stews.

- Absolutely. And in the cool season, it makes a great clump.

- Oh, it's gorgeous. - Lots of it.

- Now, the oreganos were another group that also fared quite well…

- Quite well.

- …and gave us some beautiful winter color.

- Yes. Those look grand.

- This radish, it's beautiful. - Beautiful.

- And you can see where the little green…little growth…

- Little greens coming up in the center.

- Those leaves will be green, and then as time goes,

you'll trim these back and you'll once again have an all-green plant.

- Are these going to be as flavorful?

- I have no idea. - Okay.

- I have no idea.

- So we don't know. We'll have to just try it and see.

- I'd try it and see.

- Okay. We always say oregano's such a great evergreen ground cover for full sun

to part shade, people don't realize how much shade it'll take, and a good,

deer-resistant plant. - Yeah. Yeah, it's a…

- There was proof in the pudding this winter.

- Now, is that… That's the Hilltop. - That's the Hilltop Madalene.

- It's wonderful. I was pleased to find my Newe Ya'ar sage looking so good.

- It is. - It is absolutely stunning this year.

- And I so enjoy the spring bloom from that plant.

- Yes. It's a brilliant thing, and I don't know of a plant that…

You know, this is a hybrid from Northern Israel, it's grown as a desert plant,

and yet it's accommodated itself to the Texas Gulf Coast.

- It has done. - That's rare.

- It is rare.

- Very rare. This is another one we can thank Madalene for.

- We are grateful to have her.

- Absolutely. Chervil is a favorite this time of the year. Remember the year we

planted this under the roses? - Yes.

- And when the roses came out and provided shade, it extended the life of the

chervil… - It did.

- …because it's a cool season plant in our area.

- You know, most people, A, don't realize that the rose is an herb,

and that other herbs are the best companions there are for roses.

They'll often overlook that when they're planting their roses,

is to use the herbs as companions.

- Around them. Yeah.

- That's one of my favorites right there.

- This is one of mine. I have some of this in a pot,

sitting out in a totally exposed area, and if moisture froze on these leaves,

it just decorated them. They never mind freezing weather.

This is salad burnet, I guess we should say its name.

- We should.

- And it lends a bit of fresh cucumber flavor to salads throughout the winter.

And it just looks so beautiful, these blue-green leaves with a little bit

of icy decoration. Absolutely grand.

- And the bloom is the scarlet pimpernel, correct?

- Yes. Yep. Very small little bloom but lovely, lovely plant.

Here's a great example of one where you can see the tiny new growth coming

out of the center. - I did see that. It's quite active.

- Very, and it… Teeny, tiny little leaves, but they'll do fine. They'll do fine.

- All right. So, so far, what I'm gathering from this talk is that

we're in good shape with our herbs.

- We are. We really are. It was a desperately hard winter.

From my standpoint, it was harder on account of the amount of water we got

from the hurricane all the way through the winter. You know, a month or so ago,

we were still having frequent rains. We'd get an inch and a half at a time,

and it just went on, and on, and on, and I think all of our gardens are soaked.

We're going to have to be very cautious about digging into that wet soil and…

- Absolutely. - …making it compact itself.

- Absolutely. - So.

- Cilantro.

- Yes. Cilantro, indeed. Now, here's one that wintered over.

And it has a new… - And again, look at the color.

- I know. I love those greens. - It's beautiful.

- And then, here's a new crop, one that's a bit more uniformly green.

- Right. So, this is one, again, it's going to be more stressed as we get

into hotter weather. Cooler weather, it loved.

- You'll take it down. You'll take it out of the garden by June,

mid-June, quite frequently. But it's a great, great thing.

It's so decorative, I think.

- It is. It is. Well, that's the thing I love most

about the herbs, are the color, the texture, and the fragrances.

- Yeah.

- Now, another one of my favorites too is the bronze-leaf fennel. And so,

with the cooler weather, we do get more of a bronze color.

- Yeah.

- They pouted a bit in the teems that we had, but they're…

- Once again. - …emerging great.

- I notice in my more mature one that the older fronds, yes, they develop color,

but they also tended to lay over.

- Lie…

- Yeah. But from that, they're not dead. They're not even wounded.

- Like so.

- Yeah. They developed a different shape, and coming out of the center then,

when the sun encourages those new leaves to come out, there they come,

bright green. - It's beautiful.

- Lovely.

- I love it. You know, our mints, as well, went dormant for the most part

through the winter, but they all should emerge just with no problem at all.

This is Kentucky Colonel mint that, as we get the new growth again,

we'll take some of these older stems off, but it's looking beautiful,

happy and healthy.

- It's going to be just fine, absolutely fine.

Yeah. And another category I wanted to mention, two rosemarys, both upright,

that came through the winter very well in the herb house here,

notably better than some of the other uprights. This one is called Spice Island,

it's a tall, upright one, and this is my favorite, Arp.

It was discovered by Madalene in Arp, Texas, and it was notable to her because

when she saw it it was deep winter, and the Arp was standing tall and proud,

and she said, "Here is a winter-resistant rosemary."

- True enough. - It looks great in the garden and…

- It does. It does. - Absolutely.

- Another great one is the comfrey.

- Yes. Comfrey is a curious plant.

- It is.

- A really curious plant and beautiful bloomer.

- It is a beautiful bloomer.

- I would like to point out, this is a plant you need to give some

room to. - Yes. Yes, you do.

- Quite often…it doesn't spread like mint does at all, it's a totally

different thing, but it does make a large and ever-widening clump, so.

But it is a great thing to have in the garden.

- It is. It's beautiful. - It's an ancient…

- Medicinal, yeah.

- …medicinal herb and not used that way anymore much, except externally.

- Yeah. Yeah. - As in poultices.

- So, what do you think about the lavenders, Ann? They seem to fare fairly

decently through. You know, we see some damage on this sweet lavender,

a few of the foliage, but I do see new growth emerging…

- New growth. - …and on the tip of the same stem.

- Yeah. I think the challenge here is to watch a lavender and see how you can cheer

it back.

- We've got new growth coming in these notes, so is it…

- Yeah.

- They emerge, you think maybe just cut back a third, or

like you said, judiciously?

- [inaudible] a fourth or a third. Ideally, we would shear lavender back

during the depth of the winter before any new growth comes because lavender blooms

on old wood, so we don't want to cut…this time of the year in March,

I don't think we can cut it as much back as we would if it were…

- December.

- …late December or early January, but it never hurts to give them a chance.

- I got you.

- We already have, you know, a great fondness for lavender and we want

to give it every chance, and then we have to be willing to let

it go.

- Right. Okay. Well, let's go check out the herb bed…

- Let's do it. - …and see how it's looking.

- See how it's looking right now.

- All right. - Good.

- You know, Ann, our herb garden is like, really, everybody's should be.

It's not solely herbs, it's a mixture of plants.

- Yeah.

- And so many plants are herbs, like we talked about the rose.

It's very easy to do and still be able to call it your herb garden.

- Yes, and not only that, but you can fill in where you have holes,

or where something isn't working, or where it's overgrown its space.

It's changeable… - Exactly.

- …as to your needs. - And it's seasonal. You know,

we've got… - Seasonal.

- One of our favorites in the summertime, and a fall bloomer, is the tagetes or the

Mexican marigold, and this plant, and particularly to the novice,

might appear to be a goner.

- So many people get discouraged about them at this time of the year,

especially when they… "Oh, it's dead." And what do we call it? The tug test.

- The tug test.

- Yeah. If you can reach down here and pull, and it doesn't come out of the

ground… - You know you've got a great…

- …you've got a great plant there.

- You do. You have a good root system. And I would encourage people coming

into March, and going through the garden, and trying to decide what may or may

not return, you know, the tug test is pretty tried and true.

- It's a pretty good…yes, it is. There's so many interesting things here,

including the volunteers climbing up the wall. But here's an example of that

favorite of all time, salad burnet, as it looks after a long, hard winter.

Very wet, very cold, and there's two beautiful examples

in this garden.

- Well, you know, and like you mentioned with the ice, even on a dewy morning

like this one, how the water beads up on the foliage…

- Yes, it does. - …it is so pretty.

- Yes, it is. - It sparkles like diamonds.

- It's that blue-green leaf surface. Beautiful.

- And then our heirloom bulbs pop up here and there, we plant onions in this garden,

and look at the echinacea. It's already…the cornflower's coming

back again.

- Isn't it a bit early for that? I'm not sure, but it's a perennial plant…

- It is. It is.

- …so it's making an appearance already, and I must point out that these so-called

weeds are in fact chickweed which is an edible plant. And we all have it

in our gardens, we might as well take…

- Well, you know… - …advantage of it.

- …it's green… - It's grean, yeah. Beautiful

- …so I leave it. It's going to die out in the heat and until the other plants…

- Absolutely.

- …come in and take hold, I really don't have a problem

with chickweed.

- I don't either. Doesn't it bloom? [inaudible]

- It does. - It actually blooms.

- It does. A delicate little flower.

- I notice that right beside it there's one of our low-growing thymes, tiny leaf,

low-growing thymes. It's made it thus far and it will be just fine as time goes on,

as well.

- And one of the ones that you mentioned is your favorite, too,

is the Newe Ya'ar sage. - Yes.

- Look how great that looks.

- It looks beautiful. It doesn't even look misshapen in any way,

or no damaged leaves, no fungus.

- Lots of new growth on it. - It's beautiful.

- And the Mexican oregano right behind it is that woody plant,

a semi-evergreen shrub. Great bloomer through the summer,

that lavender tubular bloom, a favorite for the butterflies.

- And I believe bees love it, too. - They do.

- It's just exactly the right thing and it'll be a splash of purple back there…

- I know. I love it.

- …lavender against the stone. And let's see…this is a type of celery,

I believe… - It is, it is.

- …in the garden back here. I'll just step across. And also,

we have the bronze fennel coming alive back here, Beverly. Look at this.

- Look how gorgeous, and the leaves are doing just as you

mentioned earlier. They're kind of laid out, you've got a lot of new

growth emerging. You know, to me, I love to use it in a winter landscape

as a grassy substitute. It gives you that light,

airy foliage that the grass would, but so beautiful through the winter

with that purple.

- It is. It's a fine, fine plant. And this is a great addition on account

of the lush greenness of it, and this is a cool season plant.

- It is. And you know, with that celery flavor, again,

to pick it for your soups, and salads, and stews, it's wonderful.

- There is something that's hiding back here, and it's one of our good rosemarys.

- It is. - It's going to be this big…

- It is. - …by summer.

- It is. - Beautiful.

- Well, thank you, Ann. It's always so much fun to walk

through the garden with you and…

- Well. -…talk about the herbs.

- It is. I love seeing them. This time of the year,

they're just coming forth and they're ready for us to get down there and prune,

and shape, and herbalize, and use.

- Yes. Well, thanks again. - My pleasure.

The ATM Business and The Marijuana Business - Duration: 8:54.

the ATM business and the marijuana business do they make a beautiful couple

that's what we're gonna talk about in this video hey guys my name is Carey

Buck I have been an ATM business owner operator for nine years now and I've

been teaching people just like you how to start and grow a profitable ATM

business to generate passive income for the rest of your life I've been doing

that for seven years now with my signature training ATM business

blueprint which of course got a makeover August of 2017 and we got ATM business

blueprint 2.0 out now so I want to tackle this this question and this

situation that arises a lot lately with several states making marijuana medical

and recreational marijuana illegal okay so of course a lot of these locations

are cash only okay and cash only spots are awesome spots for ATM business

owners to put their ATMs in okay so you automatically think oh I'm gonna put my

ATM in a marijuana dispensary right great thinking okay and what I do want

to tell you about the ATM business and the marijuana business is that yes you

will probably make a shit ton of money putting your ATM in a marijuana business

in a marijuana dispensary okay you probably will however you want to weigh

the risk and their reward what do I mean by that well even though there are

states that medical and/or recreational marijuana is legal

federally our federal government says it's illegal okay and that is a big deal

that's something you need to keep in mind our federal government says it's

illegal marijuana is illegal okay even if you're in a state that legalized it

the federal government says uh-uh that shit's illegal okay why is that

important yeah it's important to you as an ATM

business owner because if you're like you know what this can make me a shit

ton of money I'm gonna put my ATM in an marijuana dispensary I'm gonna do it

okay do it go for it just know the risks okay and these are the risks since it is

still federally illegal if I would say most processors out there most

aboveboard processors out there that will be processing your ATM transactions

and you cannot be in the ATM business if somebody's not processing a business is

not processing your ATM transactions if a reputable processor out there finds

out that your ATM is in a marijuana dispensary that's what happens your ATM

will be shut down yeah no matter if your ATM was making you $500 a month $1,000 a

month $3,000 a month it doesn't matter how much money your ATM was making in

that marijuana dispensary if your processor finds out that it's a

marijuana shop they will shut it down why because it's federally illegal okay

does it matter that the states some states made it legal okay

what matters is that a processor or an ISO has what's called a sponsor bank a

sponsor bank so you they can't be an ISO which is an independent sales

organization you don't know what that is find my ATM video a vocab to go over

that okay the ISO can't be an ISO and process all these transactions for folks

unless they have a sponsor bank and that's a bank putting their selves on

the line okay so when your money comes back right the sponsor bank is in charge

of holding that money until it gets dispersed to your ATMs and your

surcharges coming in the sponsor bank is holding that money until it gets

dispersed to your account okay so the sponsor bank does not want to mess with

the federal government does that make sense

because the sponsor Bank does online banking in the world and they are not

gonna mess with the US government so if something is illegal they mix it oh

you're making money all great great that is so process everybody's making this

shit ton of money what it's an America cut that ATM off

that is one of the risks with place at ATMs and marijuana dispensaries okay now

if it ever happens one day the federal government says oh you know what medical

marijuana is legal oh that risk goes away it doesn't matter

anymore cuz it's legal right it's like sells cigarettes or alcohol okay but

until that day happens which I really don't see that ever happening under the

trump administration by the way um excuse me but until that day happens

just know if you want to place your ATM and a marijuana dispensary there may

come a time where that $3,000 a month or $2,000 a month or $1,000 a month ATM

it's making you 0 because your processor shuts it down okay that makes sense yeah

get the truth for me the truth this is the truth bomb right here the truth

machine okay so that is you just have to weigh the risk and the reward you know

if you ask me what I put my ATM in a marijuana Spencer II dispensary yeah

what I'm okay with the risk versus the reward or the reward versus the risk

right I feel like the reward is higher than the risk but I also have a shit ton

of other ATMs making me a shit ton of passive income every month so if this

one ATM get shuts down that's okay I'm still gonna go on living

my life I'll just pick it up and move it somewhere else okay if all you have is

an ATM in marijuana dispensaries and they all get shut down you're screwed

you're screwed okay so you need to have a better plan okay

don't just count on the marijuana dispensaries for your a tempest it's

okay I hope this makes sense all right again I don't want to scare you away

from marijuana dispensaries but you need to know the truth when it comes to ATMs

and the marijuana dispensary business okay you need to know the truth I don't

care whether you think marijuana should be

legal or not I don't care whether you smoke pot or not I could care less and

guess what your sponsored bank could care less and the federal government

could care less okay what you need to know is the laws and the rules and what

happens if your ATM gets caught or you get caught okay all right hopefully that

makes sense if you have any questions post them down below do not forget to

like this video guys there's a little ATM machine right here or right here one

day you know what I'm gonna put a big next time I make a video I'm gonna have

a big freaking sign right on my wall so I know which way to point because I know

which way the damn ATM machines gonna be so click that ATM machine to subscribe

to this channel don't forget to like this video down below click thumbs up

button alright and above I will actually put a link to I'm gonna make a appear of

right now the link to what is an is oh yeah and then at the end of this video

I'm gonna have a link to my ATM playlist so you can have see all the videos in my

ATM playlist and I'll learn about the ATM business in general

alright so I hope that made sense I hope that gave you a little more clearer

understanding of the ATM business and the marijuana dispensary business and

how the two can be a perfectly married couple but then they might end up

getting divorce you know yeah so that's a risk/reward thing you have

to weigh that personally and you have to make sure you have a back-up plan plan

just in case alright guys have a great day I'll talk to you soon I want to

offer you to come to my free group cashflow hackers com okay that is a

group for passive income seeking entrepreneurs and what is a cashflow

hacker it is someone who legally and ethically generates enough passive

income cash flow that they do not need a paycheck from a nine-to-five job to live

their lives and pay their bills guys I'll talk to you soon have a great day

and may you live happily off of passive income

Trump Apparently Doesn't Know The Difference Between North And South Korea - Duration: 2:57.

You know it's important for the President of the United States to have a firm grasp

on American foreign policy.

To know your world leaders and which countries are your allies, and which ones could potentially

be your enemies.

That's something that apparently Donald Trump doesn't have.

On Saturday evening, during his little fundraiser in Florida there, he told the crowd that he

recently got a call from North Korea and they said, "We want to sit down and talk."

And Donald Trump said, "Well, so do I.

But you have to de-nuke first."

I guess that's what he's calling getting rid of your nuclear weapons.

You have to de-nuke first.

But nonetheless, Donald Trump told that crowd that North Korea called him, and that he was

absolutely ready to sit down, as was North Korea.

The only problem is that North Korea never called him.

It was, in fact, the South Korean president Moon Jae-in.

That is who called Donald Trump.

South Korea, not North Korea.

You know, South Korea, the country that doesn't have any nuclear weapons.

South Korea, the country that's pretty much a pretty good ally of the United States when

it comes to foreign policy against North Korea.

We're on the same side with them.

And yet Donald Trump, if what he told that crowd is accurate about what he said in that

statement, I'm sure that had to confuse the hell out of the South Korean government.

Donald Trump doesn't know enough about the world to be able to keep his world leaders

straight, and yet we're supposed to trust him to sit down with North Korea and talk

them out of bombing the United States.

I don't think that's going to happen.

I don't think Donald Trump is that guy.

And I think anybody who thinks Donald Trump is that guy needs to go have their head examined.

North Korea and South Korea recently announced that those two countries for the first time

in more than a decade, would be sitting down for talks, possibly to work out some kind

of deal and end the tensions between the two countries and the constant conflict.

That's what we need to happen.

We don't need an idiot like Donald Trump sitting there at that table making things worse.

If these two countries are able to work it out and come to some kind of agreement and

make things a little better over there for all the civilians caught in this ongoing catastrophe,

that's what we need.

We don't need a guy like Donald Trump over there who doesn't even know the difference

between North Korea and South Korea.
