Breaking up is hard to do.

Sometimes, it feels like it goes on forever...days...weeks...months...millions of years?

Just ask Pangaea.

[OPEN]

Plate tectonics.

It's not your fault if you take it for granite.

The concept that the Earth's crust moves around, rubs together, and pulls apart seems

obvious now.

I mean just look at it.

But as recently as 50 years ago, thinking the continents had ever actually moved from

their current locations would have gotten you laughed out of any serious scientific

meeting.

The notion of moving continents all started with Alfred Wegener.

He noticed the continents appeared to fit together, almost perfectly, like a jigsaw

puzzle.

And if they used to fit together, that means they must have somehow moved apart.

This led him to introduce a new idea: "continental drift".

The snug fit of coastlines wasn't the only evidence that the continents were all once

joined together in a giant landmass, all nice and cozy

Wegener noticed fossils of certain animals had been found in Africa, India, and Antarctica.

How did the same animal end up all over the world?

Before, geologists thought land bridges had connected the continents, and were now submerged

or eroded away.

Or else, they swam.

Remains of an ancient fern had also been found on FIVE continents.

And ferns definitely can't swim.

It just didn't make sense.

That wasn't all.

The same types of rocks and mountains lined up continuously between continents.

It was a convincing body of evidence suggesting the continents moved around during Earth's

history, so obviously Wegener was celebrated and awarded for this brilliant idea, right?

More like the opposite.

One paleontologist called his theory "Germanic pseudoscience".

He was ridiculed around the world for his "delirious ravings."

The reason for all the hate was no one could see HOW continents might move.

Did the rotation of the Earth create enough centrifugal force to move them?

Was it the tides?

These forces weren't strong enough to move entire continents.

Wegener was never able to convince other scientists before he died on an expedition to Greenland

in 1930 at only 50 years old.

He never knew the fate of his ideas.

In 1929, Arthur Holmes showed thermal convection in the mantle could create enough of a current

to move the continental crust on top of it, an idea he originally got from Wegener.

In 1962, geologist Harry Hess found a strange magnetic pattern along a seafloor ridge.

Earth's magnetic field has flipped hundreds of time over the planet's history.

Magnetic minerals deep in the Earth, in hot magma, preserved this magnetic fingerprint

as they cooled and hardened into rock.

Just like planetary tree rings, geologists could analyze the rock on either side of the

ridge to retrace its history.

The seafloor was spreading apart at these ridges, where new rock was oozing up from

the hot mantle.

Geologists finally had proof that earth's crust wasn't static.

It was constantly changing.

They're even moving right now?

Can't you tell?

Probably not.

Every year, the spreading at the Mid-Atlantic ridge pushes the Eurasian plate and North

American plate just 2.5 centimeters farther apart, but over millions of years, that really

adds up.

Spreading between plates also happens on land.

The African plate and the Arabian plate are actually splitting the continent in two.

These deep rift valleys will eventually become an ocean and create a new, separate African

landmass.

The "Ring of Fire" is where denser oceanic crust is moving underneath the less dense

continental crust.

90% of the world's earthquakes and most major volcanoes occur along this margin.

Monstrous eruptions and destructive earthquakes change our world everyday and influence the

lives of humans all over it.

Just like the the surface of our dynamic planet, the story of plate tectonics shows us it can

take a little while before earth-shaking ideas change the world… if you catch my drift.

Stay curious!

Payback Is A B TCH Look What Trump Just Did To Beat Obama At His Own DIRTY Game

By Lindsey Bruce

President Trump discovered this week that former President Obama wiretapped the Trump

tower while Trump was campaigning.

Obama secretly had trump under investigation, so now President Trump is returning the favor!

Trump officially requested that the House Intelligence Committee make Obama the subject

of investigation and the committee AGREED!

The House Intelligence Chairman Devin Nunes (R-CA) WILL investigate Obamas illegal

wiretapping along with their investigation into any Russian interference in the U.S.

presidential election.

According to the New York Post, Nunes believed there was merit to look into Obamas actions:

One of the focus points of the House Intelligence Committees investigation is the U.S. governments

response to actions taken by Russian intelligence agents during the presidential campaign.

As such, the Committee will make inquiries into whether the government was conducting

surveillance activities on any political partys campaign officials or surrogates, and we will

continue to investigate this issue if the evidence warrants it.

If any part of the allegations are correct, someone in the Obama administration will likely

face criminal charges. What Obama did was illegal.

The law forbids lying to any judicial officer to obtain any means of surveillance. What

the law also forbids, under criminal penalty, is the misuse of FISA.

FISA can only be used for foreign intelligence information. The only foreign intelligence

information allowed as a basis for surveillance is information necessary to protect the United

States against actual or potential grave hostile attack, war-like sabotage or

international terror.

Also, FISA can only be used to eavesdrop on conversations where the parties to the conversation

are a foreign power or an agent of a foreign power. An agent of a foreign power cannot

be a United States person unless they are knowingly involved in criminal espionage.

It can NOT be used to spy on a political opponent!

Obama deserves to rot in jail for what he did. Using the powers on the FBI, CIA and

NSA to spy on your political opponents is as dirty as it gets. President Trump is NOT

going to let him get away with this!

Is Lonzo Ball's Dad Hurting His Career? - Duration: 1:40.

We've all heard of the Ball brothers by now and how nice they are with the rock.

Their father, LaVar Ball, is certainly familiar with them, as he's been constantly gassing

them up for years now.

The UCLA star Lonzo Ball is averaging 14.9 points and 7.8 assists per game with a field

goal percentage of 55%.

Lonzo is one of the top players in college ball right now, but is his father's mouth

going to get him in trouble?

LaVar Ball is proud of his son and brags, as any parent would.

But does it go too far to say that he's better than two-time MVP Steph Curry?

Apparently, LaVar doesn't think so.

And, earlier this week, LaVar, with major confidence as always, spoke with ESPN's

Jovan Buha and said Lonzo should be the No. 1 draft pick in the NBA: So there you have

it—LaVar Ball obviously thinks Lonzo's game is NBA ready.

Do you think the way he boasts about his son will hurt him in the long run, or is Lonzo's

game good enough to justify his dad's comments?

Tell us your thoughts in the comments and subscribe to Complex for more Ball brother

Untethering From 3D To Let In 5D - Duration: 7:11.

Untethering From 3D To Let In 5D.

by Raphael Awen,

There is nothing wrong at all with the kind of time and space orientation that we

all know in 3rd dimensional reality that we all share.

In fact, there is actually so much right about it, that if anything, weve been unable

to really handle its magic, so weve had to dull it down in an attempt to make it manageable.

Many of us have become so skilled at this dulling down that we find ourselves stuck

in ennui and boredom, seeking some kind of external change in our time and space circumstances

to shake off the doldrums.

But from the beginning, getting stuck in any dimension was only and ever meant as

a process for us to bake in order to lead us onward.

3rd dimensional time and space, and us, as aware beings within that, were imagined up

from the creator as a way to have an experience outside of the timeless-allness bliss that

it was.

In fact, the divine actually got tired and bored of this bliss and reached outside of

itself for something more.

Boredom preceded creation.

So it remains.

If thats true, and I believe it is, then even our admittedly medicative and harmful

distractions we seek from our boredom are a divine similarity in us.

We seek freedom from boredom.

This week, where we live in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, there have been 3 guys vacationing

and sharing a suite just across from the deck where I like to sit out on and gaze and meditate,

taking in the ocean.

Theyve been given to lots of beer and giggling with one another and their own kind of nervous

explorations in camaraderie.

It was touching for me to feel at times, even in my annoyance at them, that they are actually

no less the divine, out divining than I am seeking to meditate and travel with star

beings and archangel guides.

They will ascend when they are ready, and in the larger picture, they are ascending

every bit as much as I am.

Did I not need similar experiences in density to arrive at where I am today?

We are all in such deep sacred journey that it is inescapable.

We are hopelessly the divine out divining, all of us., you, me, and any and all others,

including many kinds of beings and consciousnesses that are off our radar, awaiting reconnection

with us.

If we can see this utter reverence for every kind of dimensional experience and experiment,

we are then so primed in that kind of reverence to let in other dimensions.

When the divine, divined out of itself so called others who felt individuated

out of itself just enough to provide an otherized experience of itself, the divine considered

this dimensional experience we know as 3D time and space reality to be nothing less

than supernatural.

So that means, we, living in 3D are nothing less than part of the divines cosmic wow

expression and experience.

Right now, already, you cant actually become more God than you already are, except in your

awareness of that reality.

You only and ever only become something more in the discovery of what you always were and

never lost.

The only thing on the downside in all of this though is for us to get so captivated by this

dimension, that in our forgetfulness of other dimensions, we suffer in a sticky stuckness

that cant seem to find our way out, able to only check out, but unable to leave, and

explore beyond.

Our souls certainly can get stuck for painful times and be suppressed in our awakening.

We however, like the divine, become more and more, when we are ready, simply bored and

tired of locked-in 3rd dimensional living.

A holy dissatisfaction begins to ebb more and more into our being.

The enjoyments, pleasures and deep meaning found in 3D living simply dries up.

Now, we are straddling more and more into the 4th dimensional place that is a bridge

to the 5th dimensional reality known in our souls (by one description) as the Golden Earth

reality.

This is not an easy dimension and it is not for the weary, or weak of heart.

Here, in 4D we literally burn up many of the comforts and super things of our super-natural

lives, in order to reach for a dimension that we know is there, but vulnerably, we dont

experience much of it yet.

Here we become a different person and feel intense shakedowns in all of our relationships.

Truly gaining more and more access to this so called 5th dimension, that our hearts tell

us is possible, is firstly about completing and fully inhabiting the 3rd dimension and

learning all we were meant to in that dimension.

Our planet, Gaia, is currently going through its own ascension into the 4th dimension,

and so it is a pressure that all of her inhabitants are feeling, and it makes for a big support

structure for those ready in their soul journey to make the ascension with her.

There is nothing wrong with any being or consciousness who needs to complete a phase in a so called

lower dimension and isnt ready to ride the ascension wave many of us are feeling

called to embrace.

We need to feel this same way towards parts of ourselves who need to be felt in this way

for where they are at.

Not all of you may be on board with this ascension process that a soul part of you is so excited

about, and egging you on with.

Feeling a part of you still attached to 3rd dimensional reality will be necessary to integrate

in order to ascend.

This is a none left behind kind of deal.

As a soul fragment being birthed out of God, we were only willing to be participants in

this god-otherization project if we were given the assurance that we would never

be ultimately left behind, regardless of the necessary level of forgetfulness of our actually

being a part of God.

With these kinds of feelings and reassurances, the kind that color our hearts with love,

we are enabled to much more so open the portals of our imagination to begin having real experiences

of Golden Earth to call us forward and beyond

This is the untethering into 4th and eventually 5th dimensional experience, loving and feeling

and completing all the goodness that the 3rd dimension had for us, and will continue to

as we incorporate 4th as a path to 5th, more and more.

Tuesdays with Liz: Nutrition Ambassador Sarah Keathley - Duration: 5:34.

Welcome to another edition of Tuesdays with Liz: Disability Policy for All.Today I'm interviewing

Sarah Kealthey, one of the nutrition ambassadors for the AUCD Nutrition is for Everyone program,

which is supported by a grant from the Walmart Foundation.Sarah also works for the Partners

for Inclusive Communities which is the University Center on Disability at the University of Arkansas

So welcome, Sarah.

Thank you Liz, thank you for having me today.

I'm excited to be here with you.

The first question is: What policy impacts people with disabilities to be healthy?

Well that's a good question.

So I think there's two policies that really affect the ability for people with disabilities

to be healthy here in Arkansas.

And that is number one: Food accessibility.

So we have a really big lack of food accessibility for people with disabilities here in our community

and throughout the state.

And our second is access to nutrition education.

We don't have a good nutrition education system here for people with disabilities and also

their care providers.

So those are two of our big limitations here in Arkansas.

That is something that we're trying to change.

OK, thanks.

You mention those are Arkansas policies.

Is there a national policy, since this is a show for the nation?

I think so, but I am learning all of the policies.

This is my first year in policy work.

But I think nationwide these could apply as well.

I think we don't have a nutrition education set up for people with disabilities and that's

something that nation wide we lack.

And I think that's something we're implementing to change not just here in Arkansas but also

in all of the states in America as well.

OK, thank you.The next question is: What has made your program successful so far?

So I think our biggest success that we've had so far is community involvement from the

disability world.

We have had a huge support system from people with disabilities and their care providers

and their families and their friends and advocacy groups.

And that has been the big drive to make our program successful.

We've also worked to adapt a curriculum for people with disabilities for a cooking class

here in Arkansas and so we've just started those cooking classes.

And so far we've had a really big turnout of people with disabilities and they love

the curriculum, so we're really excited to continue that and grow that here in the state.

Thank you, and the final question is: Is there anything else that you would like to talk

about regarding your program?

Sure.

I think there's just a few things.

First, we would love to thank the Walmart Foundation and AUCD for letting Arkansas participate

in this program.

And second, when we talk about this being not just Arkansas but also nation-wide, we

want to make this program sustainable for not just us but also for all of the people

with disabilities throughout America and throughout even the world as we move along.

So I think we're starting small, but we'd like to see this program grow into something

bigger where we have cooking classes offered for people with disabilities at a regular

basis throughout multiple different avenues and also make nutrition education available.

Thank you, and if you have any questions about this or any other policy issues please go

to the AUCD webpage and look for this week's InBrief.

And if you have any questions or comments about this week's edition of Tuesdays with

Liz, please leave them in the space below.

Thanks again, Sarah.

Thank you Liz.

Bye.

Don Cheadle Claims Donald Trump Used the N-Word on a Golf Course | Splash News TV - Duration: 1:10.

Don Cheadle doesn't like Donald Trump… and it sounds like he has a pretty good reason.

The House of Lies actor was engaging with some of his Twitter followers when he pointed

out one incident in particular during a pro-am when Trump allegedly used the n-word.

And he's hated him ever since.

The tweet's gotten a lot of press and the actor clarified that Trump and Cheadle's

friend were in a 4-ball together and Donald thought they were all like minded.

Cheadle also clarified that he didn't know the man Trump allegedly used the n-word with,

and when a user asked if the fellow golfer would go on record about the incident, Cheadle

pointed out that his daughter is famous and probably doesn't want that particular beef

for her or her dad.

Of course, Cheadle's story is completely hearsay and there is no proof of the alleged

slur being used…

But as he pointed out to another user… if he taped her father swearing to it on a stack

of bibles you'd still say it was a lie.

Guess he's got a point.

We're gonna let you decide what you want to believe.

Tom Hiddleston Gets Snooty When Asked About Taylor Swift, Private Life | Splash News TV - Duration: 1:15.

[Tom what was your favorite song tonight?]

We just saw Tom Hiddleston leaving a secret Ed Sheeran show in New York City…

Turns out secrecy is something he appreciates on many levels.

The Kong: Skull Island star was recently asked about if he had any regrets about his relationship

with Taylor Swift during an interview with The Telegraph, and let's just say he wasn't

thrilled.

He reportedly replied, "What should I regret, in your mind?

I would rather not talk about this if that's all right."

To be fair, Tom and Taylor weren't exactly hitting up red carpets together…

Whenever we did see them, it was brief, or from far away.

But then again, this is the very same guy who publicly displayed that gag "I Heart

T.S." tank top when he knew he'd be photographed with it.

He tells The Telegraph, "I'm just thinking about this.

Everyone is entitled to a private life.

I love what I do and I dedicate myself with absolute commitment to making great art and

great entertainment and in my mind I don't conflict the two.

My work is in the public sphere and I have a private life.

And those two things are separate."

Alright Tom, we'll just wait till Taylor releases a song about it.
