How to make a great video tutorial for YouTube ? - Duration: 8:56.

Hello everyone, it's Jeanviet.

Today I'm going to explain you how to make a good video tutorial, to attract

more people on your YouTube channel.

To do this, I will analyze YouTube tutorials that you sent me and also

to share some good advice that I have read in the excellent Videocracy book, from

Kevin Allocca.

Kevin Allocca is a Trend Analyst at YouTube, his job is to understand why and how

a video happens to become popular on Youtube.

In his latest book, he devotes a chapter whole to the video tutorials that he titled

"I learned it on YouTube"

The Dutch culture (shock)... How to deal with the Dutch? - Duration: 3:57.

I think what summarises for me the cultural shock is...

how spontaneous Dutch people aren't.

I actually myself became a bit like Dutch.

I am also very direct.

But I know in Poland for example...

especially towards people who you do not know...

you shouldn't sometimes say some things.

In The Netherlands, there is no limitation!

For me it was like coming home.

When I got to this country and I found out how direct people were,

I was like: wow, these are my people!

They tell you what they think.

English are notorious for not saying what they mean.

I am not the kind of person who can catch the meaning underneath the words.

So it's really good for me personally.

When talking to my parents over the phone

sometimes I explain things in a very direct

and most short way most efficiently as possible.

They ask me: "Are you mad or something?"

"Are you tired?"

Because it's just not normal for them.

And I understand that.

I noticed an ad at a train stop for clothes that the slogan was:

"Fit in to stand out!"

And that just caught me as something that I would never see in the US.

That would just never happen.

The US has so much more of a focus on you doing everything yourself

than the Dutch culture.

It seems like they feel more responsible as members of society.

Here, people are just more easy going in a way.

It's just easier to approach.

Did you experience culture shock when you came here?

I don't think people experience that.

Of course we had some culture shock!

They don't like to share a lot.

No, it's 1 bitterbal

1 glass of juice.

They are fun people to have drinks with, I think.

They will end up all drunk and then singing André Hazes songs...

... till 4 in the morning.

Also, in Brazil we don't have a time to finish.

So you don't plan anything after... because you're not going to say to your guests,

you know... "het is op!"

They plan everything.

And they are very well organised.

They put everything in their agendas.

So... let's go out for a drink... and they get the agenda

and they say... which day?

It all boils down to the level of respect that people have for each other's time.

You need to be very observant...

and not expect to just push your values on them.

If you listen, and you observe, and you watch...

you will be able to integrate

and be able to work that much quicker with Dutch people.

But I think that's any society.

If you don't learn the language, you miss out on so much.

You never really are going to fully understand the people that are living next to you.

So, they are like always trying to speak English with me...

but it's like, they start speaking in English with me

and then 5 minutes later they speak in Dutch again.

When there are those rare occasions where it's just Dutch that people are speaking

then it can be quite awkward.

And it reminds me that I'm not really well integrated...

and that I would like to be more integrated.

I'm too high, I'm not entirely in the video

We will never have been so physically close to each other,

but it does not matter.

Hey ! It's been a while since I have nothing, I think I can not speak in front of a camera.

It is almost halfway through March that I come to take stock of my February challenge

which was spending a month without going to a multinational.

I have so much to say.

It'll be a long video, but I don't care.

A multinational it's the big supermarket where everybody go to do their shopping.

food, cosmetic, clothing, petrol etc. the place where people usually go

the goal of the challenge was to boycott these places

because they are not always respectful of the environment.

But also to promote the local economy, small traders and farmers.

I succeed in with this challenge

It was esay because I chose a month with only 28 days instead of chosing a complete month, so 3 days doesn't exist in.

It was not I succeed

that it was esay to do.

For example I do my shopping twice a month

knowing that my shopping lasts me 2 weeks.

So I went once at the beginning of the month and once in the middle of the month.

When I do not have time to go shopping, I go to the store at the end of my street.

But this store is a multinational.

So I couldn't go there !

This forced me to have to look for other alternatives.

to be able to fill what I needed.

Because I did not have time to go to the organic store

I had to look for other ways to feed myself.

I am a vegetarian so I did not have to worry about getting meat.

For fruits and vegetables, I went to the outside market

and for cheeses or cream I went to the cheese factory.

This is things I never do usually.

and I had to find time to do it

and it was not really easy to find this time to doing this.

a small disadvantage for students who have not a lot of money

when we go to market or cheese factory etc...

it costs more than multinational.

the supply is lower than in a hypermarket

so it costs more,

but it goes directly to the person who is in front of me on one side!

I do not allow intermediaries between supermarkets and farmers to take money.

even if it is more expensive, to avoid ruining oneself it is necessary to consume in smaller quantities.

another disadvantage of depriving oneself of multinationals,

is that where I work, we receive restaurant tickets.

The problem is that small shops or farmers do not take these restaurant tickets

So I find myself stuck with these restaurant tickets and it makes me spend money that I would not spend more in multinational.

So this is another disadvantage to this system of boycotting multinationals.

For people who want to make this system, they should ask their company to recover all their money and not have restaurant tickets.

This avoids spending extra money and not using tickets.

I understand that for lack of time people do not do it.

that people don't want to look for other ways to do their shopping

Because society must always go fast,

shopping, food is something we neglect to do

we rarely go there and buy a lot because it takes time and we consider that we have no, or not for that.

these are not things in which I devote a full budget.

For shopping I buy when I have to replace something that is faulty or broken.

I do not need to have the same model of shoes 30000 times.

It was not difficult to do without this type of multinationals.

As I could not buy in multinationals, if I wanted something I had to wait to get it.

Waiting allowed me to see if my craving for these items was necessary or if it was all-consuming shopping.

I almost forgot to talk about the oil companies

so do not buy gas at the stations or department stores that supply it.

it was not hard for me because I never use my car to go to work or school.

I use it up to once a week, otherwise I walk or ride a bike.

When I did my food shopping in the outside market, I went with my bike.

I could take tramway or bus but it's not near my house.

In my daily life I don't buy oil for my car every week or month cos' I don't use enough my car to do it.

in the long term I would like to have no more cars and to travel exclusively by public transport or bicycle

the bus problem is that it pollutes more than other public transport, but when you have no choice is better to take the bus than everyone's car.

I always try to tell myself that I do not have all the objects that I have on a daily basis to tell me that if one day I do not have them anymore, I would not feel disabled to no longer possess them.

I think I have pretty much everything on this subject.

For March I had to do a yoga challenge but we are already March 12 and I have not done anything. So I will not do any challenge videos this month.

I try to do sport everyday but it was not the challenge I wanted to do at first

During this month and April I'm in exams that's why I did this video later.

I'll restart challenge in April.

I hope to restart flute cover too because I miss it

And I have a lot of ideas.
