Being quiet is sometimes annoying.

You are ignored, many people won't talk to you, and people may forget you.

People also think negatively about you.

They don't think you are normal person because your super unique behavior.

Moreover, people are also afraid to talk to you because you may say something creepy.

Well, that's because they don't really know about you.

Despite all of that, there are still some other benefits of being quiet, and here is

some of them.

#1 - Saying fewer stupid things

Assuming people say stupid things at the same frequency, and quieter people actually will

say fewer stupid things.

That is very natural context.

People have different intention when saying something, and it does not make quiet people

say lesser stupid things.

However, quiet people really say stupid things lesser just because they are careful when

they are about to say something.

#2 - People think you are a good listener

Sometimes people do not like people who talk back or interrupt when they are talking.

Quiet people tend to not say anything until the real full stop.

This is why people appreciate you as the good listener.

Even though you are not really listening, the other people actually feel more appreciated

because you do not fight back.

#3 - Everyone thinks you are mysteries

Why is this even a good thing?

It is because people will not approach you and bully you because they are just afraid.

They don't want to know the real you because it may be dangerous.

It makes you feel safer.

You may be thinking that it is unfortunate situation.

However, you should not regret that.

The reason is simply because you need to avoid toxic people who will only bring misery in

your life.

#4 - You can sneak out from unpleasant situation

Being quiet means being ignored.

You can absolutely run away from some situations without being noticed.

It is definitely a good thing, and you can do whatever you like afterwards.

It is really fun thing to be able to do everything that you like including running away from

annoying people.

Fortunately, you can just walk away without raising alarm.

#5 - When you laugh, people will think it is extremely funny

Quiet people indeed rarely laugh.

That is why when they laugh, the jokes must be very funny.

Even though it is not, people will laugh anyway.

It is weird, but they really like your jokes somehow.

It sounds original and it is just irreplaceable.

#6 - Dark humor is acceptable

Additionally, people will also be blown away even if you make dark punchline.

They really don't mind because you rarely do that anyway.

Some of them even start respecting you.

They immediately understand you even though you are not that creepy.

It is like there is a magic that makes them attracted, but it is what it is.

We're just on our way to go to Trollhättan

Welcome to Uniti Update Episode 20. My name is Albin, this is Isak.

It's been snowing in Sweden as you can see and we're on a mountaintop.

How about that?

So, we are back from india and as you saw in the previous episode, it's really clear that India is a really great market for

EVs and that's a great growth opportunity for us

But now that we're back home

We want to continue focusing on our main tasks. So if you remember from episode 18, here's Antonio and Tom.

Well they've been using their experience from the car industry to build a long-term

expansion plan for Uniti

So, right now

We feel like giving you as a viewer an insight in what's actually going on on the operational side

So let's see what they have to say

We've been working over the last months to define our business plan to better refine our operational model

The plan is to go to market with our iconic two-seater to establish meaningful differentiation in the marketplace

That's why we want to concentrate our efforts and our activities taking advantage of the expertise of partners

We just wanna pause there with a greeting from some of our team members in Paris

and they're with one of these partners that Tony is talking about, Zoltek.

And Zoltek actually makes the carbon fibre in our base plate and in our chassis

and it's a really important part. And we had a joint booth and

It went really well, so thanks for that!

Alright, let's get back to Tony and vehicle development

We'll continue developing the vehicle with the goal to present in December 2018 -

The production-ready prototype.

Production, in fact, will start in 2019

It's a tight timeline but everything is set up and we are sure we'll get there

And we're also doing some really innovative work on the software side.

As we look ahead to 2019 and bringing our first production car to market

We're working really hard internally, and with really fantastic vendors to make sure that we're gonna

Bring the best possible user experience to the urban commuter

But honestly, it's not just about right now - it's about the road ahead

In fact, Future Tom - can you tell us a little bit more about that?

So, here we are in the future and we're all about seamless mobility services

In fact, the Uniti of today could be considered the perfect

Platform for cloud-based mobility. Now, what does that mean?

Well it means a few things actually. It means that we're working with cities and municipalities

On the challenges of last mile transport

That means that we're developing the next generation of ride-sharing services and new business models based off this new

Technology, and lastly it's just really getting people used to the idea of autonomous driving

That if you don't want to drive, you don't have to drive. But you also have all the safety and convenience that comes along with that

So let's stop there and change to something different. Let's switch channel to Anton at the engineering

That's the big picture and of course our engineering team is working on improving the next prototype so for example

So for example we're doing analysis on the suspension

System and powertrain system and this is to develop the component requirement, so we can reach our targets.

So, for example, we have to make sure we're choosing the correct motor to reach our goal of

Exploration and torque speed and we have to make sure we have the correct

Suspension system to reach our target for comfort. And this is of course one of the areas

We get a lot of help from our partners because they have the experience, they have the tools for this

We're also doing certain adjustments to the previous design.

So, for example, what you can see behind me here

is that we redesign the front dashboard to integrate safety features.

And when a part design is mature enough, we take that and integrate that into the virtual production environment.

That's where we can, plan out the whole factory layout

And that's to reduce set-up time, investment cost and optimize the vehicle for efficient production

So, that's just a small insight into what we're doing, the processes we're working on

and the plans we're making to get this vehicle into mass production

and we're not in this by ourselves.

So we're in contact with many different companies with many different expertise.

And that's really why we are in Trollhättan

Trollhättan is a small town just north of Gothenburg

You know it's small? But it's famous for a lot of different things

Let us explain:

The town was a pioneer in renewable energy sources as the first hydropower plant in Sweden,

Olidans kraftverk, was built here in 1905.

It produces 1260 gigawatt hours of energy each year -

enough to charge 57 million Uniti cars

This town is also known for its film industry, with its rather large production of Swedish films -

which is why there is now Hollywood,

Bollywood, and a slightly less known Trollywood

We can't mention Trollhättan without mentioning the car company SAAB.

So here's a breakdown:

SAAB Automotive started producing its first car

In 1947

The company's background is in aerospace, which contributed to giving the car its aerodynamics

And in the coming decades, the company developed and sold lots of cars all over the world

While inventing many different technologies, such as the first ever reliable turbo motor used in consumer cars,

Electrical heating systems in car seats which is very much needed here in Sweden and asbestos-free brakes.

But in spite of SAAB's innovation, it was unfortunately put into bankruptcy in 2012.

It has since been bought by an EV company currently

developing new cars in Trollhättan again

And, in this innovative town, there are of course a lot of innovative people

A great example of this is Combitech here right behind us

We've actually started collaborating with them

So let's go inside and see what that means!

We're starting today to go through the different steps you need to take and do the virtual developments all the different

Simulations and analysis you need to do. Coming from a traditional

industry it's very exciting to meet a startup company Uniti and have new fresh ideas

It's exciting to work with people who don't see

See the problems and see the possibilities

It went really well

We had a discussion around challenges regarding passive safety,

and passive safety is all the systems that keep you safe when you actually have a crash

Overall. Short version of scandal between Vandy Vape and VooPoo

Vandy Vape ordered VooPoo 80W Gene Chip for their new product - squonk mod Pulse 80W

After long period of time of delivering the chip to the buyer, the price of the chip was increased twice and reach a 30% increase in total

After Vandy Vape rejected those terms VooPoo broke the contract. VooPoo's argument - they preparing box mod with that chip and similar features and functional. So Vandy Vape product will compete with the new VooPoo product

It turns out this isn't the first case when VooPoo increase the price on their chips in last moment to get better profit

Aside from that VooPoo emailing distributors, directly saying that their new product will be better, than Vandy Vape product

In this situation I'm totally on the side of Vandy Vape and it's not because I'm working with them. It's my moral choice because I'm against bad and dirty business

I'm on the Tony B. side - the creator and inspirer of Pulse project - Pulse 22, Pulse 24 and Pulse squonk

Me myself had issues with VooPoo - after i've done a review on VooPoo Too mod and showed that those stickers is falling off, VooPoo didn't like that a lot, they got sad and stopped to send me their products

And started to email other reviewers, directly saying that some of reviewers are lying about their product. There was screenshots somewhere, Serzh Navalisty and md Troy received such emails

At the moment I removed from viewing all reviews of VooPoo products, I need to not forget remove Demon RDA as well

And I'm officially state - I will never will review any of VooPoo products. Absolutely. In any shape. Never

In my opinion, VooPoo is thinking way too much of themselves and their business methods are wrong

So I will repeat - in this situation i'm on the side of Vandy Vape

Hehehey! Hello everyone! Alex from VapersMD is here

And i'm glad to welcome you on my channel

Today our guest is ThugLyfe RDA by Thug Nation Vape

This company is from California. But they manufacture their products in China, like the most products on the market

This RDA is symbiosis of solutions, that were previously known on the market, like Velocity and Plume Veil. The posts are very familiar

Overall, this RDA come out pretty interesting. I will tell a little ahead that I like the flavor of this RDA

But first, we will dive down and look in details how this RDA is done

Let's roll

As it says(in Russia) - stylish, fashionable, youthful

We have that bag as a package for this RDA - it have ornament, logo and so on

Fun fact - pay attention to those metal clamps, which tell us about the color of the device itself. This is what I call attention to details

Inside this bag we have RDA in plastic bag. Inside we have spare o-rings, allen key, BF pin, spare clamps and spare screws

But let's talk about RDA. It's made out of stainless steel and aluminum. For example right now I have SS version

And color versions have a top cap made out of aluminum and as you can see that RDA is available in 4 colors - Yellow/Black, Full Black and Pink/Black

Aside from color versions, the deck in all versions is black with steel posts

This RDA have a 810 drip tips slot, side dual airflow - one is Velocity-style, second is Plume Veil-style

The deck have two post design with 2 clamps for bottom holding of coils

Also this deck is only for dual coils and have decent juice well capacity - it's 6mm deep. The diameter of the RDA is 24mm, height with drip tip is 34mm, without drip tip 26mm

Now let's take a detailed look at it. As always we start from the top where we have a boring black delrin non-o-ring 810 drip tip

Classic fit, but due to 810 slot we can use our favorite 810 drip tips no problem

Moving forward. Now we can see the top cap. It's composite top cap, which is giving us airflow as the Velocity

On the top cap we have a logo of this RDA, that skull, and a name - ThugLyfe on both sides

Personally - I would left it only on one side, but it's the manufacturer decision

I think you noticed that hole. That hole is through on both sides and it gives us option of back airflow of the coils

Though main airflow is realized as on Velocity RDA. By unscrewing the top cap counter clockwise you are opening the airflow holes on both sides

Maximally, the holes can be opened like so. This adjustment gives insane cloud production when fully opened

If you will continue to unscrew you will get access to the coils and o-ring

Also, the top cap have spherical machining inside

Important note - these little holes will be always opened and you can't adjust it. So be aware of it

The top cap is held on the deck by 2 o-rings, and like i said the deck is black, posts are made of steel

Regarding of that back airflow holes - as you can see - it drilled right through, the air is coming out of this central insulator with oval hole - it will divide airflow on both sides evenly

By the way, on one side above the airflow hole we have a piece of metal. I think you noticed that it's only on this side

If we look down inside the top cap we will see a notch by which the top cap is fixating on the deck and will prevent top cap from spinning

In case if you will put on the top cap in the wrong way it will not fit, you will need to turn it a little bit, so the key will match with that notch, so the top cap will fit and airflow holes will match

Wonderful. Let's talk about the posts. As you can see there's two clamps which will tighten the leads from bottom

These clamps have a knurling for holding the leads. On the top of it we have 2 massive screws, they are in center of the posts and they will pull those clamps up and tighten the leads

This RDA could be used on squonk mods as well. If we unscrew regular pin we will be able to screw down BF pin, which we have in the kit

Also, on the bottom we have a screw that holds negative post, a nice protruding pin, deep engraving ThugLyfe and serial number

I'm totally satisfied with the juice well - it is 6mm deep. Pay attention - guys cut those corners - attention to details, again, and it's cool.

The screws is working like so. When you unscrew it the clamp goes down and opens a slot for putting the leads and in the end we have 4 holes - two on both sides

If you coil come out wide - you will place the leads in 1st and 3rd slot

I wanna apologize in advance - I won't be showing how I install the coils in this RDA, because there is an issue which I faced during coils installation

And the name of this issue is the screws - as you can see the screws are completely wasted - and it's only 2 installation of coils

I have to say - the metal used for these screws is very soft, I strongly recommend to Thug Nation Vape to use harder material

I tried several screwdrivers but the final is one for all of them - the screws are wasted

Another important thing - don't forget - these clamps are tightening the leads from bottom. In this case the amount of force on the screws is higher, than if we tighten them from the top

It's much harder to tighten anything from bottom than simply tighten it from the top

So the amount of force on these screws are high and as result - screws are dying

Anyway, that's how I installed the coils - as you can see the leads one lead is in far hole and the other is in the near hole. Initially, I wanted to do a counter installation, but it wasn't comfortable

There was not enough space for leads and they was shifting to each other too close. It wasn't cool, so I had to throw one lead to the far hole

Anyway, I centered the coils so they would get both back and side airflow and i'm fine with it

This build is 0.08Ω fits perfectly for mechanical mod

Folks, I strongly recommend not to staff your RDAs with a lot of cotton

RDAs doesn't like that amount of cotton - use as less cotton as you can, so the cotton just barely touch the bottom of the juice well

This amount of cotton is enough for any RDA or build

And yes - don't overdrip. Otherwise you will get the leak

It's HIM! My god, it's really him! He's come to help us! It's the Captain Hindsight

Okay, my coils are installed a little above the side airflow, I think it will positively affect the flavor

I guess I will leave that adjustment and we're all done. Hit that Fire button and vapor is happening

It means it's time for face-time, where we will talk of its pros and cons

Thanks for your attention in close up, let's go up

Well build your devices correct, so they will do big clouds

Anyway, not the point. Today we're talking about this RDA

And to this RDA I have 2 complaints. MAJOR and critical ones. Which the manufacturer necessarily must to fix

Fix it and give us, if I may say, more brutal product

They've done it brutal anyway, but let's talk about cons

What the hell are you talking about?

First con to this RDA I'll give for weak o-rings. The cap is holds badly, it's very easy to take it off, guys need to pick better o-rings

Second con. And last. And the most critical. The screws. The screws are very soft, they dying way too fast and manufacturer MUST change it

I want to say directly to the manufacturer - Thug Nation Vape - guys, pick better o-rings, more stiff. And find the replacement for these screws. Give us more sturdy screws

In close up I showed what's happening with those screws. With such coil installation the force that we apply to the screws is way higher compared with top tightening

With botto tightening you need to apply more force so the leads wouldn't shift

In this situation pressure on screws is high and these screws can't endure it

That's it regarding some major cons that directly affect the workability of this device. Now let's talk about nitpicks

For those who don't understand what nitpick is - it's the things you can live with, it's something subjective - maybe even cons, but ONLY for me personally and, maybe, for someone of you

Many can live with them and simply pay no attention to it

First nitpick goes to the convenience of coils installation. As you saw the leads is shifting when you centering it, so the airflow worked correctly

Many people doesn't like it. Many think, that if one lead is longer than the other it is burning the cotton

For me it's inconvenient, because I get used to the counter installation, i guess - when you just put the leads, simply tighten them down and that's it

In this RDA you have to center the coil, leave one lead longer than the other

You need to get used to this type of coils installation. And I think once you will start using such device you will pay zero attention to it - that's why it's a con

And last nitpick goes for boring drip tip. It's the most standard of all standard drip tips. Nothing exceptional. I like more interesting drip tips. That is why I'm using mine

I'm done with cons and nitpicks. That means it's time for pros

First pro i'll give for appearance. It look stylish, brutal, I will say it again - fashionably. Guys did a great job in terms of design, well done

Somewhere this dripper is looking like Velocity, but due to deep engravings, overall design and various colors of aluminum top cap this RDA is getting very interesting and stylish appearance. So a pro for appearance

Next pro I'll give for wonderful and versatile airflow. Due to this airflow you can get any result you want - insane clouds or intense flavor. I strongly like that airflow. And of course it's a pro

Intense flavor, decent clouds - but those two factors are totally depends on build you will install and the way you install it

Thankfully, I'm get used to it and know how to install the coils, so any device will have intense flavor

If you want to have same results as I do - watch my reviews - and you will succeed

Anyway - it's a pro for clouds and flavor

Regarding quality of manufacturing - initially I was thinking of giving it a major pro, but after testing the screws and o-rings have failed. So the quality isn't bad, but guys should fix those issues

Okay folks, that was all regarding cons, nitpicks and pros

And as always, in final we are summarize. Did I like it or not?

I liked this RDA - in terms of flavor, clouds, appearance and quality

But it all stuck at these f*^&ing screws. Which, I hope, guys will fix

Other than that I can recommend this RDA

BUT. In this place we are stuck - where to buy it?

At the moment you can buy it only in certain app called VapeBlock

That app is available both on iOS and Android and looks like so

But again, unfortunately, I couldn't register in this app, since after I filled out the form with my data it just wouldn't let me log-in. So I simply couldn't log-in and see what's going on in that app

After all forms are filled out, I tap next, I'm getting age verification, I tap continue and nothing happens

Nothing happens, no emails, no nothing. I simply couldn't log-in and see anything in that app

Though I know that price of this RDA in that app is 50$

Yeah, 50$ price tag is a little high for the average prices on the market. Especially for a product that is made in China

But anyway, it's a price from manufacturer, and the manufacturer decide what price should be set for their products

I hope this RDA will appear in online stores, maybe in some local vape shops in Russia. But anyway I liked that RDA and I can recommend it

If you have 50$ for purchasing this RDA, or maybe even less if it will be sold not through that app, then yeah - go for it.

It look stylish, it's good for matchy-matchy and it distinct from others.

I'm gonna be completely honest, I really enjoyed them.

You know, when I picked one up, I thought like "okay, it's probably gonna feel like an Ibanez"

every Ibanez kind of feels like another Ibanez in a way

But I was pleasantly surprised that it was not feeling like the regular Ibanez

it was definitely feeling like something else and it was nice, it was just really nice.

I'm not sure if the prices are good or not, I didn't really pay attention to the specs

but they felt really good, and I think the roasted maple will look well, so well done Ibanez!

"Is the Ax8 your solution to the backline rental problem when playing in different countries?"

Yeah, it's a very convenient way for me to get around and get my type of sound through any type of amplifier

So what I do is I bring my Ax8, I plug it into whatever FX loop of a backline amplifier that there is at the venue

and absolute worst case scenario I can hook up my Ax8 directly to the mixing board or the front of house

And I have a sound, so I still have my my type of sound everywhere, basically.

So, yeah, it's definitely a good solution, I totally recommend it.

England is a country, Englund, my last name, is a mix of two words: Eng and Lund

It was just, you know, the first of its kind. I mean, you had Wolfenstein 3D before, but Doom was just Horror.

I mean the first time you ever saw horror in a sense, you know, that it was First-person

and it was just totally blowing my mind, because, I mean, you look at it now and it's laughable

but back in the day you'd never seen anything like that and it was so f***in' scary. It was awesome. I love Doom.

I don't really go after a specific formula for, you know, treating my room

but what I do is basically I have panels over here. Maybe I can show you real quick.

So on this side of room I have Auralex panels, so it basically covers the whole part of that wall.

On the other side here, from now on, I also have curtains, and behind those curtains are my green screen wall.

so what I'm doing is that I'm adding a bunch of absorption in my room

and you can see I also have curtains there that are pretty thick and my carpet is kind of fixed

So, I just basically fill my room with a good absorption.

You know, it's a rectangular room, it's not perfect for audio engineering

but at least, with all these absorbing materials, I kill most of the reflections that I kind of think are annoying

So yeah, I don't really go for a formula,

but there's a bunch of YouTube guides out there you can check out if you want to learn about that.

So, it's become the logo for the Solar guitars brand now, and I'm not using it personally.

Just to start off, I know a lot of people they see that logo, they think about me, okay?

And that makes total sense, I know. And you know what? I like having the logo there, it looks good.

Designwise it takes the eye to the center of the guitar, and I like that

I know and I understand that it's not for everyone, but you know it's a design decision that I went with

and I think it was a good decision, because the guitars are sold out all the time.

7 Perks of Being Quiet People

Being quiet is sometimes annoying.

You are ignored, many people won't talk to you, and people may forget you.

People also think negatively about you.

They don't think you are normal person because your super unique behavior.

Moreover, people are also afraid to talk to you because you may say something creepy.

Well, that's because they don't really know about you.

Despite all of that, there are still some other benefits of being quiet, and here is

some of them.

#1 - Saying fewer stupid things

Assuming people say stupid things at the same frequency, and quieter people actually will

say fewer stupid things.

That is very natural context.

People have different intention when saying something, and it does not make quiet people

say lesser stupid things.

However, quiet people really say stupid things lesser just because they are careful when

they are about to say something.

#2 - People think you are a good listener

Sometimes people do not like people who talk back or interrupt when they are talking.

Quiet people tend to not say anything until the real full stop.

This is why people appreciate you as the good listener.

Even though you are not really listening, the other people actually feel more appreciated

because you do not fight back.

#3 - Everyone thinks you are mysteries

Why is this even a good thing?

It is because people will not approach you and bully you because they are just afraid.

They don't want to know the real you because it may be dangerous.

It makes you feel safer.

You may be thinking that it is unfortunate situation.

However, you should not regret that.

The reason is simply because you need to avoid toxic people who will only bring misery in

your life.

#4 - You can sneak out from unpleasant situation

Being quiet means being ignored.

You can absolutely run away from some situations without being noticed.

It is definitely a good thing, and you can do whatever you like afterwards.

It is really fun thing to be able to do everything that you like including running away from

annoying people.

Fortunately, you can just walk away without raising alarm.

#5 - When you laugh, people will think it is extremely funny

Quiet people indeed rarely laugh.

That is why when they laugh, the jokes must be very funny.

Even though it is not, people will laugh anyway.

It is weird, but they really like your jokes somehow.

It sounds original and it is just irreplaceable.

#6 - Dark humor is acceptable

Additionally, people will also be blown away even if you make dark punchline.

They really don't mind because you rarely do that anyway.

Some of them even start respecting you.

They immediately understand you even though you are not that creepy.

It is like there is a magic that makes them attracted, but it is what it is.

#7 - When you talk, people will listen

Since you rarely get the turn to say something, people will listen seriously.

They will look at your eyes, and they are all ears.

They will pay attention, and they will listen as they are being possessed by the devil in

you.

Well, at least that's all of the 7 perks of being quiet people.

hey guys welcome back to money in life TV my name is Mike this is my sidekick

chipper I know many of the subscribers and viewers of this channel are in

college or are about to attend college so my goal today is to help you

understand when you have to pay tax and when you don't on your scholarship and

grant money and that's the goal for this video if you guys enjoy the video and

started alright guys this is a really cool topic

and a lot of people get scholarships and first of all I just want to talk about

scholarships and grants and say if you were able to get one congratulations

that is fantastic news for you my friend because that is less money that has to

come out of your pocket to get a higher education less money that has to go

towards student loans so less debt for you so congrats on getting those

scholarships and really it's one of if you can get scholarships ladies and

gentlemen it is by far the best way to pay for a school in my opinion it is one

of the best ways much more effective than working to pay for school if you

don't have to I work to wait my way through to school but if you can get

scholarships like I said that is your golden ticket!

so let's talk about right now let's talk about scholarships and grants now I

thought I should sit down for this one because I have some visuals on screen

and I want to show you and just so you know the vigil you're looking at right

now on screen is publication 970 now this is like the Bible for education tax

deductions so make sure to check it out all of the information from this video

is coming from here so make sure to read more about scholarships and scholarships

are all in this chapter 1 of this publication and I'm going to leave a

link down in the description section below this video

so you can go check this out for yourself just in case there's a question

I I missed or didn't cover I mean I'm gonna try to cover some of those guys

obviously there's a lot of information on scholarships so feel free to ask

questions or leave comments down below as you watch this video if you're

uncertain of what a scholarship or a fellowship grant is it's basically a

scholarship is generally in the mountain paid or allowed to or for the benefit of

a student whether an undergraduate or graduate add an educational institution

to aid in the pursuit of his or her studies so that's basically what

scholarship is so now let's take a look on screen of a table I made in Excel

that I feel breaks out the main differences between taxable scholarships

and non-taxable scholarships the truth is is that you might get a scholarship

that is partially tax-free and part of it is not tax-free so it just depends on

what expenses you use it for so let's look at that right now so let's start

with taxable scholarships let's I think that's a good place to start everything

that's taxable is on the left-hand side the grant our scholarship is taxable win

money is received but student is not pursuing degree so

you apply for the scholarship you write this awesome paper or somehow you come

into this money but you're not a student well then all of that is like income to

you and you have to report it on your tax return as wages the next area when

it's not tax-free is for when grants relate to payment for services so a lot

of times a person in order to get the scholarship or grant they have to do

something at the university they have to work as a teacher at that University are

they assist in research at you know thirsty it could be a variety of other

things too but if you are getting money from Grants and scholarships for that

specific purpose the portion that is for services the part you got for actually

doing work as a teacher or doing research for example that is going to be

taxable and what they're gonna do is if they're doing it correctly is they're

gonna send you a w-2 to report that amount of income on your tax return just

to specify the amount of money you got paid for services is will be on that W

tube okay the next area when it's taxable amount to use for anything other

than tuition fees and other qualified education expenses so all of us probably

know somebody who came into a lot of scholarship money our grant money and

what did they buy they went and bought a car with it they didn't spend it on

school or higher education qualified higher education expenses no they went

out and bought stuff money that they received on that scholarship since they

did not use it for educational purposes it's gonna be all taxable income to them

and of course any amount of scholarship or grant money that you receive that

exceeds qualified education expenses and this is to my understanding the year in

which you receive the money so if you have more scholarship money than

education expenses the amount that exceeds the your education expenses

let's say you're let's say you received $5,000 in scholarship money but you only

had three thousand dollars in education expenses that means two thousand of that

is gonna be taxable income to you

all right let's look at some examples of wind scholarship money will not be

taxable to you and that's of course a real obvious one right is amount so when

you use the money for tuition fees and other qualified education expenses if

you don't know what qualified education expenses are I have a whole video on

that I'll link it up in the description section down below so make sure to check

it out then also it's not taxable win if reduced tuition received by student for

teaching or research activities that were not considered payment for services

so it's okay if you work at the school and get tuition reductions as long as

it's not payment as long as it's not considered payment for services you

should be fine it's also not taxable if the amounts received by degree

candidates from National Health Service corporations or Armed Forces scholarship

programs for tuition fees books supplies and equipment

even if it's for services so if you're in the military or if you meet one of

these requirements where you're in the National Health Services Corp even if

that money you got for scholarships is from services and they say hey you still

non-taxable to you because you served our country and that's that's the best

situation you can have in that scenario

alright guys I know it's not on here but so let's say now often scholarships come

out and they're earmarked for certain things it could be earmarked for your

personal living expenses so based on the terms of the scholarship you have may

determine also if it's taxable or non-taxable so sometimes people will get

a scholarship that is strictly for room and board well any amount just so you

guys know any amount of scholarship money that you use for room and board is

not tax deductable and will be included in your income okay so any scholarship

money that you use for personal living expenses is gonna be taxable to you now

as I mentioned earlier in this video is that it's probably it's more than likely

that part of your money scholarship money is going to be taxable and part of

its not so in the publication there's a worksheet that's going to help you

determine how much of your scholarship income is taxable versus how much is not

taxable and you'll just work your way through the worksheet to determine that

and keep this as a work pay after you filled this out keep this as a work

paper for your tax documentation for that tax year

so you might be wondering well Mike if I have taxable scholarship income does

that mean I have to file a tax return for myself the answer is maybe so if you

if you don't work at all you know some people work but if you don't work at all

and just have some taxable scholarship income you might have to file a tax

return on that so I'm gonna link up a publication for you to check out to

determine the income finding requirements and I can tell you that if

somebody's claiming you as a dependent then it's going to be a right around

$6,000 anything above that is when you're gonna have to file so make sure

you look at that publication I linked up down below and check out the rules for

filing your income tax returns just to make sure you're covered you know if you

work let's say you work at a job and then in addition to your job income you

get this extra taxable scholarship income then more likely than not I'm

gonna guess you're gonna have to file because it doesn't take a lot of income

in order for you to have to be required to file a tax return now generally when

you see tax documents of scholarships it's gonna come to you possibly in a

couple different forms in one instance you might see the amount of scholarships

you received on a 1098-t that's one place you might see it another place you

might see it is if you get a w-2 because if part of your scholarship

money was from wages I mean from services then you're gonna have a w-2

that where you have to report that income on your tax return so you'll see

scholarship money there show up as well as wages the other place you might see

it unfortunately and this is not gonna be your fault or issue it's because

sometimes the organizations or companies issuing the tax documents for

scholarships don't quite know or fully understand what they're doing so if they

issue you a 1099 miscellaneous form with scholarship income on it that is

incorrect they're supposed to issue it on a w-2

however there's there are gonna be times when you get it on a 1099 so and just to

prove what I'm saying the IRS has in their publication on 1099 s this is what

they say about scholarships this is for companies who need to file scholarships

art this is for companies who need to send out information on scholarships so

the rule state says do not use form 1099 miscellaneous to report scholarship or

file if grants scholarship or fellowship

grants that are taxable to the recipient because they are paid for teaching

research or other services as a condition for receiving the grant are

considered wages and and must be reported on Form w2 other taxable

scholarship or fellowship payments to a degree or non degree candidate do not

have to be reported to the IRS on any form so those are the general reporting

rules so you might however like I said companies and organizations mess up and

they send you a 1099 with that scholarship income on it so if you get

that then just be aware of that and you should the correct way to report it is

on line seven of your 1040 and I'm going to show you an example right here let me

come down here so I found an example online as you would show this as wages

on this is the first page of the 1040 and you would this little code section

right here not a code section but this basically refers to that of these wages

nine thousand or so dollars of that is scholarship income in this example so

and it says right here this isn't this parts in the publication

but if you file form 1040 include the taxable amount in the total on line

seven if the taxable amount was not reported on Form w2 which is like a 1099

right because it's not on the w-2 also enter s CH in a taxable amount on

the dotted line next to line seven so that's how you are supposed to report

your scholarship income and you like it says right here make sure you enter the

SCH if the scholarship income was not correctly reported to you on a w-2 now

you can also another thing you can do if you do get a 1099 from whatever company

it is telling you that you have scholarship income you can contact them

and say hey this is incorrect scholarship income needs to be reported

on Form w2 please correct this and send me a tax form so don't ever be afraid to

do that you feel free to contact them and you can do it that way but if you

want to file your return before the deadline or if you don't want to extend

it then you can also report it here as well but I'd probably start with trying

to get them to correct it on their end so there's no matching issues between

the IRS database and in what you're reporting on your tax return all right

guys that's a brief overview of scholarship income

it's taxable when it's not how to report it on your tax return and the different

kind of forms and documents you might see that income reported on so remember

in general your scholarship money may be partially taxable it might be not

taxable at all or it could be taxable in full it all just depends on how you use

the money how you receive it why you receive that money you know is it for

services is it not for services so those kinds of things make sure to check out

the publication on that because there's a lot more detail in there especially if

I didn't cover something if there's anything you feel like a minister if you
