The definition of what is a heavy metal is generally defined as a metal with a high
density and atomic weight and atomic number.
That would include metals such as
lead, mercury, cadmium, but I don't really like to refer to...
and the nutraceutical industry and in the health field
lots of people refer to, you know, heavy
metal toxicity. Heavy metal toxicity. We've gotten a lot of the lead out of
things. I'm not saying it's not something to worry about because it is very
damaging and very dangerous and still in some paints in homes and pipes and it...
we're still exposed to lead in many different items especially items coming
from China but you know the cadmium, mercury, and lead were the heavy metals
that we were the most concerned about for years but now I just term toxic
metals because now we're starting to see high, high levels of aluminum, arsenic -
it's not necessarily classified as a heavy metal but it's an extremely toxic
metal. Nickel, I mean when we had our practice and we were doing chemical and
toxic metal cleanses we had one case where this we cou- no doctors could find
out what was causing this lady to have brain fog and cramps and, and all of
these different things that were happening to her and we we had to run
different types of screening to try to determine the root cause because that's
what it's all about - trying to find the root cause of the situation to eliminate
it from the environment and we ended up tracking it back to her glasses frames
which were made of nickel and she was actually wearing jewelry that had nickel
in it and believe it or not the little metal thing on your jeans and some
zippers contain mercury. She always had a rash like right around where her belly
button was well and she had rashes around where her
eyeglass frames were that was one of the reasons it led me to think that maybe
that's - could be the cause of her problem and when we ran all the tests we found
out that her nickel levels were really high and so we started detoxifying her
and then she ended up getting better and we switched her to plastic frames
and just changed up some of those things. So you really have to look at all the
different areas in your life. You - sometimes you never know what could be
the cause of the symptoms that you're suffering from. So that was the first
question what are heavy metals. You know, the toxic metals that I think
are the most concerning right now are aluminum, nickel, chromium, and arsenic as
opposed to or in conjunction with the lead, and the mercury, and the cadmium.

Welcome to The Dress Up Mom.

Hi friends, it's time for another one of my What I Wore videos, where I show you the
outfits that I pick out for a week.
I really hope you like them.
Today, I have on one of my favorite vintage pieces, which is this Asian, I think it's
from Japan, silk, vintage coat.
Now, I got it at ReLove in San Francisco, one of my absolute favorite places for resale.
I did a whole video, which you can see, I'm linking it up here, on how we transformed
this.
It was more of like a robe, and I took it to my alterations guru, Donna, and we turned
it into more of this coat/dress.
I can also button it up this way and wear it as a dress.
But, tonight I'm wearing it a little bit more casual because we're going out for
a fun night.
So, I have it paired with just this little Kit and Ace top, a little shell.
These are my Levi's, my 501 Levi's that I actually bleached, cut and frayed myself.
And then finally, these are Moroccan slippers that are from Artemis Designs, the flying
carpet shoe people who, as you know, I adore.
Now, this purse that I'm taking, this little bag, is one that I've had for the longest
time.
And I got it from a street vendor and it's so clever, I think.
It is made out of the album cover, an album cover on one side and then the actual vinyl
album on the other side.
And, of course, this is Audrey, one of my style icons and My Fair Lady, one of my great
movies.
So, heading out, a little fun tonight.
Today, we are going to see the Drowsy Chaperone, a musical, and I thought I would have a little
bit of fun with my outfit.
I'm wearing this green swingy coat that is vintage that I picked up in San Diego at
one of my favorite places, Bad Madge & Company.
I was channeling a little bit of Audrey I think in this, because I have very simple
pieces underneath it.
Just a little black shell, a long-sleeved shell from St. John Knits.
These are my incredible vintage Channel pants, that I got at ReLove in San Francisco, love
these.
And then my little Rothys they are sustainable shoes.
And even though the green is a little bit of a different shade, I think they go together
pretty well with the black in there tying it all together.
So, looking forward to seeing this.
We are heading out tonight and I've got on my Jennifer Grace Kimono, once again.
I love this.
It was the original one I purchased.
The vibrant colors.
I'm wearing it today like a coat.
I love it, it's so versatile.
All I did is I tied these knots in the bottom of it to give it a little bit of shape and
structure and also to make it not so long and to make it a little bit more casual.
I have it paired with this Kit and Ace top.
This is white jade, I think it's called, and it's this beautiful beaded necklace
that was gifted to me by my mother.
I've got a Tano belt on, wonderful leather company.
Vintage 501 Levi's that I cut, bleached, frayed myself.
My Bryr clogs that I absolutely adore, handmade in San Francisco.
And also, this handmade leather clutch from a local artisan here in San Diego, Erin Bynam.
I'm going to head out and have a great night.

And tonight we are going out to have a nice dinner with the family.
So, I am wearing this top that I picked up at a place in San Diego called Flashbacks.
I've always loved it, it was a weird length when I bought it, it was too short to be a
dress really, and a little bit too long to be a top.
So, I just took it to Donna and had her cut it off right here and I've gotten so much
wear out of it.
It's really comfy and I love the colors.
I have it with this necklace that was from my mom's collection.
It's beaded, and I think sort of it goes along with the tribal look of the top.
These are Mother jeans which I have had for just the longest time.
I paid a lot for them, but they certainly have worn well, and they always stay somewhat
up to date.
I don't know why, they always look modern to me.
And then these are my Sven clogs, which I love.
They're gold, halter-top, Sven clogs that I think just sort of add that pop of color,
give it a little bit of the Boho feel and I'm going to enjoy a fun dinner.
My hair is super dirty, but I'm getting it cut tomorrow, so I did not want to wash
it and we're going out tonight.
So, I put this had on.
This hat my husband bought for me when we were on vacation a little while back.
It's not vintage, but I like it because it looks vintage.
And, I think it's covering up this hair quite nicely.
So, I'm just wearing it with a little sweater that I've had forever.
These are my Levi's that I got in Ireland at Le Harlequin and I cut and frayed them
myself.
And then this belt here, I really love.
It's also from Artemis Design, one of my favorite brands.
They're they ones that do those flying carpet shoes and they make these belts too out of
Turkish carpets.
So, this was an old, vintage Turkish carpet that they repurposed.
Then these are my little Kurt Geiger little kitten pumps.
Look at this cute little red tiny heel.
They're comfortable though.
I got these on eBay many years ago.
Finally, this Sword & Plow little cross body bag, I think ties it all together with sort
of the color in the hat and a little bit of the belt.
And I also love this brand.
This is all made from repurposed materials from the military.
So, that's what I'm going to be doing tonight.

DAY 7: KILIMANJARO SUMMIT NIGHT BRIEFING (LEMOSHO ROUTE) - Duration: 6:44.
- One of the things that really struck me
was one of the guides said that if you feel
like you wanna throw up, eat more
so you throw up.

- When we get here for those who want summit,
we gonna summit.
So, from now we gonna have 'em rest
to least we can try to have 'em nap.
Even if you don't fall asleeping, try to lay down.
You allow your body to rest til 5:00, you'll come here
for bed check.
- [Male Hiker] 5 o'clock?
- Yes 5 o'clock and then dinner'll
be at half past five and then we'll go again to sleep
til half past 10 p.m.
- [Female Hiker] Half past 10.
- [Male Hiker] 10:30.
- P.m. yes and then until 11:00, we'll come here
for light breakfast, then half past 11:00
we'll go to starting our night light.
We'll leave here at half past 11:00
and we gonna walk for about five to six hours
to get to stellar point.
Then another 45 minutes to one hour to get to (mumbles).
- Anything, what happens at stellar point?
Nothing, it's just a point?
- Stellar point is our remote centre
and it's the most difficult part to get to.
And sometime you may feel a bit dizzy.
Once you start to feel dizzy it's better
to concentrate to where you stepping, don't do.
Coldness is gonna make you exhausted.
It is, it is difficult to summit.
Don't want to scare you but I don't,
I would like to tell you that it is, it is difficult.
It is difficult for our body.
- Hi everybody, this is it.
This is the evening where we're gonna wake up
and do the summit.
It is 6:00, almost 6:30 in the evening.
We just had our final dinner, final meal.
I'm at base camp at the moment here
and everybody's just gone to bed.
And I just thought I'd go to the bathroom real quick
near the fortress and just quickly pump out an audio,
a video to just kind of discuss what we discussed
in the tent.
Just a moment ago a few of us have really kind
of, a little bit nervous, little bit in the game
in the mindset of kind of like pre-competition really.
Like just ready to go to war, ready to go to battle
sort of thing.
I'm feeling a little bit nervous
because I'm fearful of, like, fuckin' freezin' to death
on the summit.
We're talking about the altitude sickness.
You know, we're talking about today, for example,
we climbed from 13,000 feet to 15,000 feet.
That was a 2,000 foot elevation gain
and I felt the effects of altitude like coughing
a few times and that kind of stuff.
Little bit of a headache.
It's gone away now but we're gonna be waking up
at around 10 o'clock tonight.
We're gonna leave at 11:30 tonight
and we're gonna be climbing for seven hours
through the night.
Anyway so that's gonna be a 4,000 foot elevation
gain in seven hours, in the dark, cold, windy.
I'm freezing now (chuckling) just talking.
And my fear is freezing and also throwing up
and getting severe altitude sickness.
The guides were saying that a lot of people
when you hit 4,500 metres you're in extreme
altitude territory and a lot of people
will throw up, which is completely normal.
So they said as we start climbing, you'll start
to see people on the side of the trek throwing up.
One of the things that really struck me
was one of the guides said that if you feel
like you wanna throw up, eat more so you throw up.
So I've never heard of that before (laughing).
Eat more to throw up.
So it's gonna be, it's gonna be very challenging
and, and it's fucking freezing.
Brandon's over there, he's a little bit nervous
and, and I don't blame the kid.
I think we're all a little bit nervous you know.
Like but you know what, to be honest with you
it actually feels a little bit like before
getting on the stage and competing, you know
that one or two days before getting on the stage
you've spent months and months prepping for it,
and then you get on the stage.
It's like kinda like the same feeling.
Yeah, so I've just carb loaded a lot.
I had a lot of carbs.
I've had about five, two, three, four
four litres of water and a little electrolytes,
Gatorade and Staminade and I put quite a bit
of salt on my, on my carbs.
Basically had spaghetti and earlier today
I had potato, a lot of potato, lot of spaghetti.
It's kind of the carb loading thing
cause it's gonna be seven hours, seven hours climbing
from 15,000 feet to 19 and then 19,000 feet
that's a massive elevation gain.
Anyway, let me quickly wrap this up.
I'm going to go to bed now, try and get
at least three hours rest and this is gonna be
the last video that I record until I wake up tonight
and start filming, try and film what I can
during the climb to the summit.
