Youtube daily report Jun 11 2018

JACQUES: Lil Wayne's sixth studio album was an instant hit.

It sold over 1 million copies within a week of its June 10th, 2008 release.

JACQUES: The album contains Lil Wayne classics like "A Milli" and pop hits like "Lollipop."

But it's the songs that did not make the final tracklisting that made the album so big.

JACQUES: Lil Wayne proclaimed himself the best rapper alive on his 2005 album 'Tha Carter II,'

and afterwards took to the studio to flood the market.

His unparalleled work ethic sent a message to the rap game: step your game up.

LIL WAYNE: They're acting like these singers man. I ain't going into the studio until I got a situation.

A subject, I need a beat, I need the producer, who's gon' be on the hook? Man what is you doin?

JACQUES: From 2005 to 2008, Lil Wayne was ubiquitous.

He fed the streets with his official mixtapes, like 'Da Drought 3' and 'Dedication 2'

- the latter helmed by DJ Drama.

His joint album with Birdman, 'Like Father, Like Son,' peaked at #3 on the Billboard 200.

He was the hottest feature in pop music joining the likes of Chris Brown,

Lloyd,

T-Pain and others on charting singles.

JACQUES: And in preparation for 'Tha Carter III,' he stockpiled dozens of tracks,

and the music was so hot it could barely stay in Wayne's hands.

Several unfinished cuts leaked and became fodder for a number of unofficial mixtapes,

however one stood above the rest.

JACQUES: The Empire's series, 'The Drought Is Over,' compiled dozens of Weezy cuts that

were intended for the third installment of 'Tha Carter.'

It drew its name from Weezy's official set of mixtapes, 'The Drought' and caused

many to believe that The Empire was getting it straight from the source - but he wasn't.

In June 2007, The Empire dropped 'The Drought Is Over 2: ''Tha Carter III'' Sessions.'

It contained 20 songs intended for 'Tha Carter III' and many became cult favorites.

JACQUES: In an interview, The Empire told Genius that the first batch came from a random

poster on the popular messageboard, Boxden.

That leak proved so big that Wayne was forced to do damage control.

LIL WAYNE: I'ma give you some intros and outros and it's all for y'all.

Y'all got me I give it to you, red handed I must take better care of my things and I will.

Motherfuckers!

JACQUES: Lil Wayne's 5 song project 'The Leak,' dropped in December 2007.

But The Empire was just getting started - over the next year he received more Weezy leaks

and created another four mixtapes.

He became a magnet for people holding Wayne's music, gathered legally or illegally.

For the fourth installment of his series, he told Genius he got the songs from someone who

had somehow gotten it out of Wayne's car.

JACQUES: As for Weezy, the leaks became so popular that he began performing them at shows.

Meanwhile, more unofficial mixtapes kept coming and his fans just ate them up.

DJ DRAMA: There was a lot of money in the mixtape game back then and Lil Wayne was a

hot commodity.

JACQUES: DJ Drama's 'Gangsta Grillz' series was at the center of the mixtape game

and included the 'Dedication' projects with Wayne.

According to him, Wayne was a prime example of how music consumption was changing

back in 2007.

DRAMA: People were really, really, really were getting their music through the internet

around that time.

JACQUES: Websites like DatPiff.com, LiveMixtapes.com, and others fed a thriving competition for

the biggest exclusives.

In late May 2008, weeks before 'Tha Carter III's release, in an interview with the now

defunct magazine 'Foundation,' an exasperated Wayne took aim at mixtape DJs.

WAYNE: Like you said I'm on 25 top 25 I ain't put out 25 mixtapes.

So fuck y'all, fuck DatPiff, fuck these mixtape djs, fuck all that.

JACQUES: His comments struck a nerve and one DJ even leaked 'Tha Carter III' out of protest.

Wayne later clarified his statements on Drama's show.

WAYNE: That whole shit was meant to the Empire nigga.

I don't fuck with the Empire nigga.

The nigga put out a CD on me every month.

JACQUES: Drama told Genius that Wayne just hadn't explained himself sufficiently.

DRAMA: Lil Wayne has always been about mixtapes and mixtape culture.

He's been very good to the streets in a lot of ways.

JACQUES: However, at this point the cat was out of the bag.

In 'The Carter III' documentary Lil Wayne's manager, Cortez Bryant is seen lamenting the leak.

CORTEZ: He knew it was gonna happen too.

He's just looking at it like shit, we had a good leak.

10 - 11 days...know some people's albums leak 2-3 months out y'know.

JACQUES: As we now know, 'Tha Carter III' went on to become a tremendous success.

The leaks were an accidental marketing push that drove Lil Wayne's hype to a fever pitch.

But this strategy of flooding the market was only possible because Lil Wayne kept delivering.

DRAMA: But 'Carter III' was the culmination of everything that had been happening

in the last like years to become the king of hip-hop.

JACQUES: Another upside to 'Tha Carter III' leaks is that they unearthed songs that fans

may have never heard due to sample clearances - like Lil Wayne rapping over The Beatles,

Prince and Heart.

Lil Wayne fought the leakers and we all won.

JACQUES: I'm Jacques Morel with Genius News, bringing you the meaning and the knowledge

behind the music.

Peace!

How to Make Mozzarella Cheese ~ Shortened Version ~ Noreen's Kitchen - Duration: 7:14.

Hi everyone, I'm Noreen and welcome to my kitchen and today I'm going to show you how to make mozzarella cheese

First off you're gonna need one gallon of whole milk that is non ultra pasteurized the milk cannot be pasteurized beyond

172 degrees and it should be ultra fresh

You're gonna need purified water half of a rennet tablet and I have a teaspoon of citric acid

you're also going to need instant read thermometer whether it's digital or

Standard and later you're gonna need some salt as far as equipment

stainless steel or glass

Do not use aluminum do not use enamel use stainless steel

We're gonna get started here I have dissolved

the citric acid in

About a quarter cup of purified water pour this in here and stir it for about 30 seconds before we put the heat on

So all we're gonna do now is we're gonna sit here and we're gonna stir this until it comes up to 90 degrees

I'm gonna go and I'm going to just continue

Tending my milk until it reaches 90 degrees and I'll be back when that happened

We're at about 80 degrees now with our milk

you want to put your water in your rennet in you don't want to dissolve your run it too soon because

Once it's activated it only stays good for about 20 minutes to a half an hour

Right ninety degrees. Okay, turn off your burner

Take your pot off

the burner

Move it to the side

Okay, your slotted spoon take your dissolved rennet pour it through your slotted spoon

Stir it 10 seconds tops don't over stir it

Put a lid on it

Walk away from it for five to ten minutes

the curd is set and it's beautiful and the way that you'll know is if you we're gonna cut the curd and

You have to make sure that it's broken occurred

So if you sit I have an offset spatula here and you're gonna need something to cut it

Don't reach the bottom of the pot if you can see this is one solid mass now, okay

So what we're gonna do now is we're going to cut this

um

we're gonna take a long knife or your

Icing spatula or something that will reach all the way down to the bottom of your pot and you're going to cut this

into half-inch to or up to one inch

Squares so you're gonna cut one way and you're gonna cut the other way

What this is gonna do is it's gonna help the rest of this curd to release as much of its way and

We're going to heat this. How can we get this cut? We're gonna heat it up

I'm going to swirl the pot. Okay?

Can you see that?

So what I do is I I test the thermometers put the thermometer in and I test it. You know, I see where it's at

It's still at 90 degrees. So it held its heat really. Well you want to slowly bring this up to 105 degrees

so I'm gonna go ahead I'm gonna hang out I'm gonna wait for this to come up to

105 degrees and when it's close, I'll come back and I'll show you what it looks like 105 or so

and you'll have to swirl it is why I say swirl it is to

Distribute that heat that's coming off the bottom more evenly throughout the rest of the vessel

Otherwise, you're gonna get a somewhat inaccurate reading but it needs to be between 105 and 107

I'm also gonna turn off the burner and I'm going to take this off the burner and I'm going to once again

Let this sit for five minutes

We let this sit and now I'm just gonna spoon the curd gently using my slotted spoon

Into a colander that have set inside of a bowl

Okay. So what I'm gonna do now is I'm just going to gently

start

To spin this in the colander like this

Don't use one of those fine mesh sips for this the fine

Mesh sieve isn't going to work as well for you and at this point

You can start to gently press it with your hand now

Plop right there

Alright, I have an 1100 watt microwave at my house

So I put this on 60% power if you have a higher wattage microwave, you definitely want to put this on a lower

Cooking temperature, so don't leave it on high. But this one I know is probably

Not that high. So we're gonna put it in here for a minute

It's very hot

but you're gonna want to get your hand in here and you want to get rid of as much water as you possibly can because

see

But I can feel it's starting to knit together and I'm gonna kind of come in here with my fingertips and gently

Distribute that heat because that's what's going to make it literally melt together and turn into mozzarella so we can stretch it

We're gonna put it back in the microwave this time for 30 seconds

I'm just gonna stick that in here for 20 seconds

Okay, so now it's really hot

We're getting the water out of it

Yeah, it looks good now, I'm gonna start kneading it even more

And I think it should turn

It's like alchemy this is like I'm not kidding. It's like kitchen magic it is science

Okay, see

When you get this stretched the citric acid is what makes it mozzarella and causes this stretch

And then you can just get your hands in there knead it together like you're needing some bread dough

That's it but you'll see

look at

Yes, look how it looks shiny now

You see how shiny it looks

Just but this just need a little bit you need to prove that it's it's ready it's true and it's stretchable

And you can you can see the difference

This is the cheese. I made yesterday the cheese I made this morning

Oh

Alchemy: History of Science #10 - Duration: 12:50.

These days, alchemy gets a bad rap.

In fantasy stories, charlatans in fancy robes promise to turn lead into gold.

But real alchemists weren't just mystical misers.

They were skilled experimentalists, backed by theories of matter.

And they played a huge role in the development of knowledge about one of our fundamental

questions: "what is stuff?"

Do chemists today spend a lot of time trying to turn lead into gold?

No—but, in part they are the inheritors of a wealth of knowledge created by alchemists

who were trying to turn lead into gold!

Why did they keep doing that?

Did they really think it would work?

Was it some science experiment?

Or a religious ritual?

Yes! All of those things.

Today, we'll meet some alchemists and consider just what the heck they were doing all day

with metals, and how they sought to understand stuff.

[Intro Music Plays]

The word "alchemy," which is where we get the word "chemistry" from, is a bit

of mystery.

It might mean "the black earth," symbolizing Egypt, but it might not.

Either way, all of these words were used in Europe before 1600 to describe the same system.

Let's define alchemy as a way of thinking philosophically about stuff by changing it.

This included older astrological ideas alongside new ones derived from experiment and observation.

Alchemy parallels the Scholastic medical tradition we looked at last time.

Both systems spanned across Eurasia and relied on books.

But the alchemists had different social norms, or ideas about how someone creating knowledge

should act.

Alchemists did publish books, but typically encoded their philosophies in complicated

allegories, or stories wherein the characters and actions stand for something other than

what they appear.

This essentially rendered whole alchemical systems secret except to their own friends.

They used code words called Decknamen: so "tin" might literally mean the metal tin

in one book, but serve as a code word for silver in another.

The books were illustrated, but many of the images were symbols masking their true meanings.

The good and bad thing about the Decknamen system was that anyone could read any proto-scientific

treatise on "what is stuff?" and come away with almost any conclusion.

Good thing today we have the internet to help everyone agree on scientific questions based on evidence... right?

A lot of alchemical books focused on transmutation, or changing metals into other metals.

In theory—all the way back to Aristotle—transmutation mimicked a natural process: metals were compounds,

formed deep in the earth when different quantities of sulfur and mercury were crushed together.

Miners had been working with metals for years—digging them up and then heating them to purify them.

The difference for alchemists though was that transmutation meant "hacking" this whole

process by doing it artificially.

But… the alchemical metals are not compounds of anything—they're elements!

So how did the alchemists take non-compounds and "read" them as compounds?

The alchemists had problems obtaining pure samples.

When they heated up chunks of metal, these would bubble and change color based on impurities,

meaning tiny bits of other elements.

But, alas—metals, when isolated, don't actually break down into sulphur and mercury.

There were two kinds of alchemical metals: the noble metals were gold, which represented

the sun.

And silver, which represented the moon.

The base metals included mercury, which represented the planet Mercury, copper for Venus, iron

for warlike Mars, tin for Jupiter, and lead for slow sad Saturn.

In fact, our name for the metal "mercury" comes from this alchemical association with

the Greek messenger god!

Agents of transmutation also fell into two categories: particulars, which only did one

thing—for example, change copper into silver—and universals, meaning the "philosopher's

stone."

That's philosopher's stone—no sorcerers involved, American Harry Potter.

This mysterious stone could change any base metal into gold.

The quest for the universal transmutation agent was called chrysopoeia, or, literally,

"make into gold."

To get started, a "chrysopoeian" would combine the right ingredients in an egg-shaped

vessel called an alembic, and then heat the mixture up for a long time.

What were the right ingredients to make the philosopher's stone?

Alchemists disagreed.

The fact that they didn't even agree on what the philosopher's stone actually was,

pretty much symbolizes the whole system.

Chrysopoeia required fine-tuning the practice of metallurgy: alchemists had to heat ingredients

for days on end, controlling the temperature precisely without the aid of modern lab equipment,

or even a thermometer!

It was difficult, sweaty work.

Eventually, the mix of ingredients would turn black, then white, then yellow, and finally

red.

At this point, if your oven hadn't exploded—you won!

You now had a lump of red substance that, when heated up with base metals, changed them

into gold.

Supposedly.

The search for the philosopher's stone produced new alchemical theories and felt like a wonder,

inspiring generations of experimenters, even if it never quite "worked."

Alchemy persisted because transmutation clearly produced something, including new compounds.

The problem is that we don't always know what it produced, because of the whole secret

code thing.

"Luna fixa", for example, was a dense white metal, that was corrosion resistant,

had a high melting point, and was pretty soft.

Was it platinum, white gold, or something else entirely?

But alchemy was never only about metals.

The human body, for example, was understood as an alchemical workshop:

chemical reactions happened in the organs, transmuting one kind of stuff into another.

This is still pretty amazing!

We eat stuff that is not at all human—at least hopefully—and then that stuff somehow

becomes us.

In an alchemical framework, illnesses were reactions gone wrong.

So while the alchemists included metallurgists, mine directors, goldsmiths, and natural philosophers,

they were often physicians,

interested in making efficacious compounds called pharmaceuticals, or chematria.

In fact, alchemy was a system for producing useful materials from chematria to alcohol,

alloys, pigments, perfumes, and cleaning products.

Noblewomen alchemists, tasked with caring for the health of the workers in their husbands'

manors, played a major role in producing therapeutics.

These noblewomen set up production facilities—proto-labs—and expanded the repertoire of alchemical products

which could be sold.

And the system itself was heavily gendered, metaphorically, which we can see in many gorgeous

illustrations of allegorical kings and queens of heaven, the kings and queens of stuff.

One of the wackier life-sciencey practices that came out of the ancient and medieval

search to understand therapeutic compounds

was palingenesis, or "life again": the idea that you could bring things back to life

by burning them, and then freezing their ashes.

Alchemists spent a lot of time burning and freezing leaves.

Did palingenesis work?

Why don't you go try it and see if you get better results!?

At least, it might make you pay careful attention to living things and what stuff they seem

to be made out of.

On second thought I'm not gonna encourage you to go burn stuff.

Just as there are multiple sciences today, there were multiple "alchemies" in medieval

Eurasia.

Chinese alchemy was tied into ideas about the earth itself.

Remember how, in Chinese natural philosophy, the earth was one living organism?

Chinese alchemists detected its vital channels of energy transmission using magnets, formalizing

that system of earth magic called feng shui.

This work eventually led to the invention of gunpowder.

Chinese alchemy also included a search for immortality called waidan.

But still no "sorcerers," sadly.

Mostly, waidan was about self-experimentation and diet.

Indian alchemy focused on medicine, on forms of mercury, and on how to preserve health

and hopefully create an undecayable body.

We've talked before about how an Ayurvedic textbook or samhita had a whole chapter on

aphrodisiacs and another on toxicology.

Alchemy supplied a way of developing these love potions and poisons.

Islamicate alchemy, meanwhile, blended Aristotelian, Chinese, and Indian alchemical practices.

Jābir ibn Hayyān, born in Persia in 721 and known in Europe as "Geber",

was credited with authoring three thousand texts!

These included a version of the Emerald Tablet, a supposedly ancient Greek text that included

a guide to creating the philosopher's stone.

Hayyan also worked on mineralogy, transmutation, and medicinal elixirs and invented new equipment.

Like many alchemists, Hayyan often wrote allegorically, trying in his own words to intentionally "baffle"

most readers except those "whom God loves."

But the person most famous today for his work in alchemy is the Swiss physician and iconoclast

Paracelsus,

born in 1493, who also was called Theophrastus Bombastus von Hohenheim.

Think Gregory House meets Victor Frankenstein meets Miss Cleo.

In addition to his general irascibility, Paracelsus is famous today for the phrase "the dose

makes the poison."

Paracelsus also believed that the philosopher's stone was a "universal solvent" called

the alkahest,

which was derived from lime, alcohol, and carbonate of potash and could theoretically

dissolve anything, even gold.

And, most radically, Paracelsus introduced salt as a third element that made up all metals.

Paracelsus was a critic of university natural philosophers and physicians.

He saw these Scholastics as likely to mistake textual generalizations for truths.

He admonished his alchemical colleagues not to trust the words of the ancient masters.

But then he became a master himself—someone you could write books in the style of.

You could say that alchemy, like other knowledge-making systems, was torn between text and experiment—

that is, between loyalty to tradition and iconoclasm, and a return to basic observation.

Thus, even if alchemical books were often secret-concealing gibberish,

they were important in supporting a long-term rational debate about the true nature of stuff.

In fact, the most famous product of alchemy was a wondrous invention that most people

don't think of as alchemical.

Help us out, ThoughtBubble:

Johannes Gensfleisch zur Laden zum Gutenberg, born in Germany in 1468, was a metallurgist

who invented a process for mass producing movable type.

Gutenberg made his type from an alloy of lead, tin, and antimony, creating a more durable

system.

He also pioneered working with oil-based ink and made tweaks to the common cheese press

to make his printing press.

His real achievement, though, was bringing all of these together into a system that made

printing books economical.

And I mean way more economical than having rooms full of monks hand-copying manuscripts.

Economical printing meant better-duplicated texts with fewer errors.!

Knowledge circulated not simply thanks to personal travel, which was slow and somewhat

random, but as discrete knowledge.

Some of this knowledge was intentionally secret code—which presents a problem for historians

today.

How do we figure out what the alchemists meant when they wrote things like, "The wind blows

over the marriage of the moon and Saturn?"

How do we interpret alchemical recipes encoded entirely in pictures?

Thanks Thought Bubble!

So what happened to alchemy?

Parts of it became chemistry, which we'll get to later.

But alchemy also became increasingly seen as dirty, dangerous, unsavory, low-class,

and lacking a classical pedigree, unlike, say, astronomy.

And, in Europe, alchemy was tied to a geocentric cosmology that goes out of fashion in the

sixteenth century.

There were notable alchemists in the seventeenth century, including Isaac Newton.

But by this time, chemists wanted a more scientific society.

Publicly, alchemy was attacked as superstition, even as practitioners keep doing it in private.

Alchemy went underground for most of the eighteenth century, maintained in secret societies, before

dying out.

The once-famous book De re metallica, or Concerning the Nature of Metals, was first translated

into English by classicist Herbert Hoover—

who was also a president—and his wife, Lou Henry Hoover, in 1912.

This is the shop right here, Tech Cafe.

The tech shop called in the local expert

who worked nearby from home,

so I went with him to get the job sorted.

What did we do wrong?

- [Elayna] How was your sandwich?

- Incredible.

- [Elayna] Yeah?

How'd you go with the hard drives?

- All done.

It was a very small button.

- [Elayna] Okay.

So this smoke is a car that drives past

with like this huge smoke machine

for the mosquitoes.

And it's like poison.

Well I'm not sure how poisonous it is,

but the guy's wearing a mask,

who sits on the back of the truck.

So that makes me think that

maybe it's not good for your lungs.

Then let me show you the sunset.

Aw, it's gone, never mind.

Riley's gone spear fishing this morning, with George.

George sent him a photo yesterday

of him and all this wahoo that him and his friends got,

so Riley's super keen today.

And yeah he'll be gone all day so I'm gonna do some

house hold chores, like the laundry.

A few of you guys have asked how we do laundry.

We don't have a washing machine or a dryer on the boat.

So you know every two weeks

we'll take it all to a laundromat.

But y'know we still wash like some little things

with our feet in the shower.

But like sheets and stuff

we have to go to the laundromat for that,

otherwise we'll be in the shower for like 50 years

and we'll use all of our water, so.

I'm gonna take you with me to the laundry.

Hope the laundry lady doesn't mind,

because I don't have a laundry bag big enough to fit

all of our sheets and stuff,

so I've just like thrown it all into

the biggest duna cover, so.

I was gonna use the sail bag,

but the sail bag is so, so big

I think she would be madder at that.

Geez I wasn't watching where I was going

and I honestly nearly walked into that bloody hole.

So I've just come to the laundry

and they dry their clothes with fire.

Don't ask me how this works.

You have a good day, I'll see you at 4!

- Okay, bye bye darling.

- [Elayna] Cheers, bye.

Such a nice lady.

So yeah we usually try and do the washing

every two weeks, if we're lucky.

We also try and do a massive provision every two weeks.

All the hard heavy stuff,

like canned food, big bags of rice and pasta.

If we know someone who's had a hire car,

we usually ask to borrow that for the afternoon.

That's always awesome,

otherwise we gotta catch like public transport,

Riley's gotta carry all the massive bags back.

I sweep the house every few days,

you'd be so surprised at how much like sand

and dirt and dust gets in this house.

I also get stuck into the bathrooms.

And I wouldn't even say I do this once a week

but maybe once every two weeks, I'm just a maniac in there.

I try and disinfect everything, bleach everything,

like the shower curtains they get mouldy.

And you know just odd jobs like the cushions outside

if we haven't pulled them out of the rain,

sometimes that'll get mouldy,

so I've gotta check those

and then you've gotta bleach those as well.

Cleaning out the fridges.

Yeah, there's basically always something to be done.

Yeah.

I do the dishes like four times a day,

because if you make anything in the kitchen

and you don't clean up, the whole house looks messy.

It's just, that's just how it is.

So I'm sure I'll get stuck into that pretty soon.

After I make a coffee, 'cause I haven't had one today.

So Riley has just got back from spear fishing with George.

- Yeah.

- [Elayna] How'd you go?

- Okay.

- [Elayna] Yeah?

- I missed one.

- [Elayna] Yeah.

- Pretty disappointed.

But it's been good goin' out with him.

He's a bit of a wizard, so I've learnt a lot.

- [Elayna] So what did you miss?

- I missed, I shot a big barracuda, which we used for chum.

And I missed my opportunity at a big wahoo.

And I missed another one,

'cause they said it was massive and I went in,

I shot and the spear just went.

So because it was so big I thought

it was a lot closer than it was.

- [Elayna] Yeah.

- He came up and he was all, "What are you doing?"

I was all like, "I didn't think it was that big."

- [Elayna] Okay, well what are we up to now?

- Usually you don't fire

until you see the whites of their eyes.

- [Elayna] Okay.

Where we goin', Riles?

- [Riley] From here out and around and up to here.

Deep Bay.

- [Elayna] Our primary gas bottle was going to

be a few more days on the ferry

and there wasn't any gas on the mainland of Antigua,

so we decided to take our cold food elsewhere.

What happened?

- We had one of our lines to the mooring ball

just got wrapped around it

and there's a few barnacles there,

so it sheared away, so I had to dive in and untangle that

and unwrap a few things and get cut up by barnacles

and faff about and then we could leave.

(upbeat music)

- [Elayna] Yep, we're tight.

Yeah, she's grabbin'.

How much you got out?

Can I have a kiss?

- [Riley] Yeah!

- [Elayna] What?

- There is a bee minus a sting in our bed.

- [Elayna] Really?

- Yeah.

That died.

- [Elayna] I've got an overly large mosquito bite

on my bum, maybe it's a bee sting.

I'm not kidding, yeah.

Riley's cleaning the rust stain off.

It's been bugging us for ages now.

Here we go.

Aw cool,

I didn't realise you could actually go in it.

Scary.

Riley.

I think I'll go home and google

what they used to use this for.

Riley's a history nerd, but I think this is beautiful.

- [Riley] Fort Barrington.

Apparently this fort has seen more action

than any other on the island.

There were many battles in the past,

but the present fort was named

in memory of Admiral Barrington,

who had defeated the French,

which restored St. Lucia back to the British

and he was recorded as the emperor and governor

of the Leeward Islands.

The fort also served as a signal station

until about 1960.

It's pretty good, considering.

Considering we can't cook anything.

- Have you taken a liking to (mumbles)?

- See that boat on the hard called Jigsaw?

I bet he named it that and then he

would've seen the movie Saw.

And he would've been like,

I wish I didn't name my boat that.

- Jigsaw, one word?

Nothing to do with Saw.

- No, but.

- That's like saying see saw.

- No, no.

The guy's name is Jigsaw.

In the movie Saw. - Oh!

Right, okay.

- I knew you.

- I hate that movie.

I watched like half of it.

- Yeah but hang on,

before you go jumping onto another subject.

- That's not, it's the same subject.

We're talking about the movie Saw.

Very similar.

- See this guy's named his boat Jigsaw.

So I imagine if the worst villain, torturer,

filthy evil person ever, in a movie in three years times

name ended up being La Vagabonde.

You'd be pretty cut, wouldn't you?

If you'd named it, you've named it,

you've written it on your boat.

- Maybe he wanted to call it that.

- Think he recently, it's quite an old boat,

you think he recently changed his name

to that of a notorious murdering filthy torturer?

- Well I didn't know.

- Bad person.

- I didn't know that that was the dude's name.

Not everyone in the world has seen the movie Saw.

- But it sounded like you were suggesting

that he'd done it on,

in fact you did say, "Maybe he did it on purpose."

- I'm just saying it's a possibility, yeah.

- But then you said, you didn't know.

- What we need to narrow this down to.

- It's not that he did it by accident, it's.

- What we need to narrow this down to is percentage,

how many people in the world have seen the movie Saw.

- But you said.

- And what parts of the world,

what flag did this boat have on it?

What are the chances of him?

- No, it's got nothing to do with it.

I said he's unlucky.

- Maybe he likes it.

Maybe he's got some sick torture thing going on inside.

Maybe he's the real deal.

What if it is Jigsaw?

- Maybe we should take a look.

Garret Cannon investigates.

We should go, we'll go check that out

and then we'll go see Gaston Browne, see what he's up to.

In fact he's probably got a hand in all this.

(laughing)

Might be his boat.

- [Elayna] Thanks for watching and join us next Monday.

We're pretty excited as we pick up our friends

from the airport.

You guys remember Matthieu from France, right?

- Oh, come on.

- [Riley] Bonjour, Mattieu!

- [Elayna] And Stefan who we met in the Canary Islands.

They join us to film a few how-to videos for you guys

and muck around with La Vagabonde.

Break some things and meet some more locals.

Potential route N. Korean, U.S. leaders may take to Capella Hotel - Duration: 2:29.

I'm now speaking to

all of you from River Valley Road in downtown Singapore.

Where I'm standing now is less than two kilometers away from both the Saint Regis Hotel and the

Shangri-La Hotel, where North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and U.S. President Donald Trump

have stayed respectively.

Now, we cannot know for sure which route Kim and Trump will take to today's summit venue,

but we do have a highly probable scenario.

And we believe it's possible that the two leaders' route will overlap starting from

the Irwell Bank Road behind me... and they're expected to both take a turn here to take

the River Valley Road.

Their route is not likely to be confirmed beforehand, but we've seen several police

officers gathered at this small intersection, maybe to beef up security on this road.

As for the Sentosa island where the Capella Hotel is located,... businesses will run as

usual and the gateway to the island won't be blocked completely.

But some traffic lanes will be blocked and visitors will be randomly picked for baggage

check.... and definitely, the areas surrounding the Capella Hotel will be restricted.

As you've briefly mentioned, Jiwon, we are not sure when the leaders are to leave for

today's historic summit talks,... but do note that they are only 20 minutes away from the

Capella Hotel.

That's all I have for now, but I'll make sure to bring you the latest for our next newscasts.

Jiwon.

TRENDY TRESSES GODDESS CURLS INSTALLATION| BRAID PATTERN & KNOTS| LIA LAVON - Duration: 7:00.

So now that you've seen the after let's go ahead and take it back to the beginning

to see what I started on. Now this is my braid pattern you guys ask me in every

single video pretty much what braid pattern I have going on and 85% of my

crochet hairstyles this is what's going on up another braids. I have these

straight back braids and my hang time is here. Now I'm gonna show you how I sew up

that hanging time but first let me show you what products I'm going to be using

throughout this install. So for this I'm going to need rubber bands. Of course

some scissors. Of course a weaving needle and you guys have probably seen

this at every beauty supply store. Just a curved needle. As well as some thread for

said needle. As well as a crochet needle and last but not least of course I'm

using the Trendy Tresses Goddess curls today. So this is what I start with

all the time. My hang time is right here and this is where the rubber bands

weaving needle and thread all come into play. So as you can see I'm rubber

banding my hang time at the top and at the bottom. Then I am wrapping it around

itself. Then I come in with the needle and thread and basically just sew that

thing up. I'm just sewing it down. I sew it down several times and I'm going to

admit a lot of the times it is difficult to kind of take this ball out because of

the way I'm threading it. I thread it in no particular fashion. It's just kind of a

random mosh posh of threading. But this is how I always do it. So if you guys ever

wonder what my hair is doing up under the crochet hair this is it. So then once

I have it sewn down to my desired liking that's when the fun part starts. The

installation. Now as soon as I took this hair out the pack I was very much so

intrigued by how soft it was. It's the softest air that I've tried on this

channel point blank period. Now whether I think that's a good thing or a bad thing

make sure you check out my review video to see my

full thoughts. But as I was separating the hair you guys can notice if you watch

this video it it takes a lot. It takes a lot. Some of the strands do come apart and

I'm gonna be quite honest with you guys it was not the easiest hair that I've

ever installed. I probably will not if I ever get this hair installed if I ever

do a trendy tresses hair again I won't install it myself because it was one of

you longest installs. You have to be meticulous with separating this hair out.

But as I go through you guys will see what I mean. So if you guys notice with

that very first strand I only double knotted I realized very early on double

knotting was not going to be sufficient with this hair. This hair requires at

least 4 to 5 to 6 knots. It's a very soft hair. I realized after the first couple

of times that this hair was too soft to do anything less than 3 knots to be

honest. Which adds to the time that I took with this hair and the install which

added to why I feel like this install was a very long install. So the hair is

very soft and you're not gonna get away with just doing less than 3 knots. I'm going to

continue this process throughout my hair. So just putting the needle through my

real hair. Attaching the crochet hair to the needle pulling it through and then

knotting it between four to six times.

Now this hair as you can see from my face was a very frustrating install. Now

I thought Freetress Deep Twist was a difficult hair to separate and then this

hair came through and stole that difficult to separate crown. Now a lot of

hair was lost during this and stuff. A lot of hair sadly did not make it into

my head and I'll insert a picture right now of all the hair that went to the

wayside. R.I.P hair so I say all this to say if

this is your first time ever installing a crochet hair. I don't think this would

be the hair that you would start off with. I do not believe that this hair

should be your go-to first time ever install. I would say definitely stick

someone more pre-loop style just to ease your way into

crochet hair world. So this is how much hair I lost just doing one pack. Just

doing one pack of hair. So I'm moving on to pack two. But a lot got done with one

pack surprisingly. This is one pack of hair in my head right now. And on the

site they claim that three to four packs does a full hair. I do end up using four

packs of this hair. They only sent me four packs or this here. So I had to use

four packs. I think I might have done well with maybe having a fifth pack

simply because I did lose a lot of hair during this process. But four to three

three to four packs is what Trendy Tresses says you need for a full install.

Now as you can see in terms of knotting I am NOT doing any special knots

when it comes to the front of my hair. I know a lot of times people say do

invisible knots at the top. To be honest one I don't feel like I needed too. Two I

had spent forever alone just installing this hair. I'd say over an hour and a

half if not two hours just installing the hair. Not the braiding portion. Installing

the hair. It was a very long install. It was very hot. This just took a lot out of me.

So to be honest I wasn't even gonna do any fancy knots at the top and most of

the time I don't do fancy knots at the top of my hair. So this is what the hair

looks like freshly installed and nothing done. Hasn't t been cut. Hasn't been

manipulated. Of course I'm gonna take some scissors to it just to kind of

shape it up a little bit for my first day thoughts portion of the video. But

yes this is what it looks like and like I said I used 4 packs. And you guys are

probably like it looks very full for four packs. There are just some spots in the

back you guys would not be able to see it that I just feel like I could have

used a little bit extra hair. Like I said to the naked eye and to anybody off the

streets they would not notice but of course you notice things that others

don't. So yes this has been my install on the trendy tresses goddess curl in the

color 1b 33. Now this is just my install video. You know your girl Lia Lavon can't

do a video without doing a review video and I'm doing that separately. So if you

want to check out my review video where I go in-depth telling you my honest

opinion on this hair make sure you stay locked. You stay

subscribed to my channel. Make sure you have that notification

bell on so you know when it's coming. Make sure you're following me on Instagram at

lialavon89 and I will see you in my next video. Thank you so much for

watching! Bye!

Singapore's Huge Surprise For Trump Shows How Much Respect He's Earned Abroad. - Duration: 3:58.

Singapore's Huge Surprise For Trump Shows How Much Respect He's Earned Abroad.

President Donald Trump departed the G7 Summit on Saturday and headed to Singapore ahead

of his highly-anticipated meeting with North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un.

Once in Singapore, Trump was treated to a huge surprise that demonstrated just how much

respect he has earned abroad.

Singapore held a surprise birthday celebration with cake and ice cream for President Donald

Trump on the eve of his landmark summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.

Trump met with Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong on Monday.

During their lunch, the latter had a special birthday cake brought out for the American

president, who will turn 72 Thursday.

Singapore's Minister of Foreign Affairs Vivian Balakrishnan tweeted out a picture

of the festivities.

[Source: The Daily Caller]

"We appreciate your hospitality and professionalism and your friendship," Trump reportedly said

in response after being surprised with the early birthday celebration.

"You're my friend," he told Prime Minister Lee.

This, of course, is a marked departure from the reception Barack Obama received when he

traveled overseas.

In fact, the Chinese refused to even provide a staircase for Obama to exit Air Force One

when he visited China, forcing him to descend from the "ass" of the presidential jet

in humiliating fashion.

When asked about this debacle during his presidential campaign, Trump said, "If that happened

I would say thank you very much.

Close it up.

I'm going back to Washington.

Boom."

Indeed, the world knows who they're dealing with when it comes to President Donald Trump.

He is a master negotiator and a force to be reckoned with.

He puts America first at all costs.

The days of putting out and getting nothing in return are over for the United States.

Trump is currently in Singapore to meet with North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un, who arrived

on Sunday at the Changi Airport.

Trump will meet Kim at the Capella Hotel on Sentosa Island at 9 a.m. on Tuesday.

"We've got a very interesting meeting, in particular, tomorrow, and I just think

it's going to work out very nicely," Trump said Monday.

President Trump and Kim Jong-un of North Korea will hold the first-ever meeting between leaders

of their two countries on Tuesday morning in Singapore, carrying with them hopes of

ending seven decades of hostility and the threat of a nuclear confrontation.

At stake is the American goal of ridding North Korea of its nuclear arsenal, Mr. Kim's

desire to remove American weapons from the Korean Peninsula and to be recognized as a

player on the world stage, and the international desire to ease the North's provocations,

poverty and extreme isolation.

The talks begin at 9 a.m. on Tuesday — 9 p.m. Eastern on Monday — and could even
