Hey guys,
So, you're about to watch an episode from my Self-Improvement Dark Mode series.
We're showing this intro at the beginning of every episode,
so if you've already seen it,
you already know what Self-Improvement Dark Mode is,
skip ahead.
My goal with the series is to show how we can accomplish amazing things
if we put all of our focus and energy into them.
It's called Dark Mode because I'm effectively going dark.
I'm not talking to friends or family,
not engaging in social media,
and not going out.
I'm basically not doing anything that isn't directly facilitating the acquisition,
the manifestation of my stated goals.
And I will do this every single day.
I will not stop until I have accomplished my goals.
I will die before I don't accomplish them.
I have four very difficult goals that I've set for myself:
First is my occupational goal.
I want to successfully launch a brand new corporate website,
and I also want to create 20 extremely high-quality videos for our blog and marketing
My expressive goal.
I want to dance one complete song of salsa at the same level of energy.
I know that sounds easy but it's extremely difficult;
even some of the highest level dancers aren't capable of doing that.
My physical goal.
I want to be able to complete five reps of
225 pounds benchpress,
325 pound deadlift and,
245 pounds squats.
Those all represent personal records for me,
and I have to achieve these goals, remaining lean.
And then my fourth goal,
is with Nelson Quest, my youtube channel.
I want to get to 10,000 subscribers organically.
let's go ahead and get into the episode.
If you noticed,
at night before I go to bed,
that's when I'm most tired.
that's also when I want to be the most tired.
So what I do is,
I spend the last thirty minutes of my day just preparing for the following.
So, yeah.
Coffee's ready.
Now I take my first two sips,
grab a tablet,
get my headphones,
finger thing,
and then it's time to meditate.
So, if everything went well,
you should've just seen some bars come across at the bottom of the screen.
I wanted to just give a quick update on where I'm at as far as my goal progression.
Let's start with NelsonQuest.
So this is the goal that I'm still furthest from.
The goal there is 10,000 subscribers,
and as of today, I'm at 281.
So, it's still a long way to go there,
but the strategy...-
my strategy is working pretty well.
We're uploading almost a video a day,
and we've got a team of three really, really talented videographers,
We also have just really, really good equipment,
really good assets,
and when you include people that are also helping us to create graphics and stuff like that,
I'd say it's pretty big team.
I know that it'll get to 10,000,
and I know the key to get there is just to create really high quality content.
So some of the stuff that I've created,
one of the videos...-
I made a video: "keto guide",
that actually has over 20,000 views.
I know that's sounds like a lot to you,
But I mean that's...-
Yeah, that's a lot for me.
Also, the first video that I ever made,
my full daily routine,
is about 20,000 views as well.
So if we're getting that many views,
we just need to make sure that we're loading up these videos with really really strong calls to action to subscribe.
Maybe even today what I'll do is work on, like, a commercial or something like that,
like a Youtube in-stream commercial that shows before videos of related content,
to try to get more subscribers.
And I've been doing a lot of stuff to try to increase the subscriber count,
but I think the most important thing is just to create quality content,
and that's what I'm going to remain focused on.
So that goal still has a long way to go.
As far as my physical goal,
I feel very, very strong.
I'm lifting very, very heavy in the gym.
Again, I'm not quite at where I want to be,
but I'm going to say I'm about 50% of the way there.
We're going to do some some chests at the gym today,
and we'll see just how far I am with my benchpress goal.
Salsa, I'm making good progress as well,
I would say that I'm about 25 % of the way to my goal.
But, the fact that Mayra left to the USA,
is going to put me in a bit of a pickle,
I've been practicing by myself,
I don't know why I just said put me in a pickle.
I've never ever used that word in a sentence before.
Anyway, Mayra's gone,
I need to find another teacher.
So one of my goals for today-
This is not a Dark Mode goal,
This is just a Me goal,
I'm going to set up a website.
I'm going to use Facebook Ads to find a new teacher.
At least someone-
It's going to be hard to find someone on Mayra's level,
but at least someone that I could just practice with.
So, 25% of the way to my Salsa goal.
I've been doing a lot of practice,
just in private,
in the morning,
at night,
I'll dance, and my goal-
When I start a song, I'm really trying to maintain the same level of energy for-
And it's very difficult.
it's really difficult.
But practice makes perfect.
As far as my occupational goals,
so we did launch the new Agent Fire website.
Here's what the old website looked like.
Specifically, here's the home page.
Here's the old tour page.
And here's the old pricing page.
So you can see-
That the old stuff wasn't bad.
But now here's the new stuff.
So here's the new home page,
you can see that we've really limited the number of call to actions,
we're using colors a little bit differently.
We are the top reviewed solution in the entire industry,
and so, I think that's something that we need to use a lot more in our marketing,
which is why you'll see that on the top of the page.
Here's our updated tour page.
So we still have to make some some tweaks to this
because it's not converting exactly as much as we would have liked to,
but basically, what we've done is added a tour progress bar.
We want to keep people moving through the page.
On the old tour page, we had a very, very long video,
which I expected that more people would watch,
and people actually did watch it.
But people definitely prefer short videos.
So on this new tour page,
You can see each section has a short two-minute video
on a specific aspect of Agent Fire.
Now, this updated pricing page,
this is where I think we've made the most improvement.
We've got a lot of things that are included in our packages,
and it's very difficult to communicate that in a way that isn't overwhelming.
Here's the new pricing page,
you can see we've clearly got the two packages that we offer,
outlying what those include.
The pricing, I think from a design standpoint,
is much more clear,
much more obvious.
Anyway, this just launched a couple of days ago,
and so we'll see how it converts,
but it's already looking really, really, really strong.
So, the main site is launched,
and I finished five videos of the 20 videos that
I said that I wanted to complete.
The videos are coming along really nice as well.
I'm using a lot of the equipment,
obviously, I'm using the same equipment for NelsonQuest that I am for my business.
So, there's a double benefit there.
I also work with people that whose hours are completely different than mine,
So, what I try to do is,
I try to structure my day,
so that during the day I'm working with people that working with me at the same time.
Then at night, when everyone goes to bed,
and I'm still working,
I start with the the second shift of people that work for me.
those are the people that focus on,
they handle a lot of the video and graphic stuff,
not only for Agent Fire but for NelsonQuest as well.
That goal, I'd say we are...-
Well, the main site it was about 25% of the things,
so, I say we're about 30...-
I'm going to say 35% of the way towards the goal.
So we still have 15 videos to go.
So, there's your progress update for the week.
Just a couple of additional thoughts,
and this is something that I noticed when I was doing the documentary.
When I say "doing the documentary",
that was another period of time where I spent months just not speaking to anyone.
That's what I'm doing right now.
I'm barely talking to to my family.
I'm not talking to any friends,
I'm not engaging in anything that is outside the acquisition of his goals.
Literally, anything.
So, a couple of updates.
I deleted my facebook again.
I had to reactivate it today because,
I've got to find a salsa teacher.
But I just noticed,
I'm so much happier the less I use my phone.
Like it's literally a direct relationship.
The less I use my phone,
that happier I am.
The less that I have that mental stimulus.
My workflow, the way that I like to work
I use this Pomodoro Timer.
I'm sure you guys are familiar with this at this point.
I worked for 45 minutes blocks.
So I hit this,
Countdown starts.
I just focus on a single task,
and I noticed that the beginning of the week,
that gets a little bit stressed from NelsonQuest,
from all the stuff that I'm doing.
I found myself not being very strict with my 45 minutes.
I continued to work past the 45 minutes.
I'm also working on many things, multitasking.
I just become really, really happy when I do that,
when I fall into that pattern.
So, when I focus on a singular tasks,
and I respect the 45 minutes.
I just get much, much, much more...-
I like this application a lot.
It's called "Good time", I'll put some links up on the screen.
I'm actually going to start building my own.
it's going to have the same Pomodoro model,
But it'll have like a competition board,
it'll sync between all of my devices,
I'll probably start work.
I have a lot on my plate, so
I'll probably wait to work on that for another couple of weeks.
So moral of the story,
is just for me, personally,
I am much more happier,
more fulfilled,
and I get a lot more done when I focused on singular tasks.
And when I really,
when I don't work more than 45 minutes without taking a real break.
When I say break. I mean get up,
stretch,
you know, look out the window.
Meditated.
Wash the dishes,
I really like washing dishes when I take my break.
Just kind of disconnect from that intensity.
And that also conditions, ike the ebbs condition the flows.
I see everything in life as ebbs and flows,
on and off.
And so when it's the off,
that allows you to better contextualize beyond.
So if you're not getting yourself off,
You can't, at least in my personal experience,
your "on" is not going to be as "on" as it can be.
Anyway, I'm going to drink some coffee,
meditate and we've got a lot to do today,
including finding my new salsa teacher
Alright guys,
I'm back from the gym,
feeling very, very, very strong.
I tested my max list on benchpress.
I got two reps of 225 or so.
I'm still three shy of my goal
But I think with enough rest,
and with just a couple more weeks of just doing everything that I'm doing right now,
I'm going to be on track for that goal.
I'm feeling very good about it.
I'm just feeling so strong.
My legs, my...-
I'm just feeling strong everywhere.
I'm really focusing when I get to the gym.
I'm focusing on compound movements.
I'm really pushing myself harder than I ever have before.
Really, really, really taking the advantage of just extra reps,
getting to what I think are my perceived physical limits,
and then working to push past them,
which I think also helps in all areas of my life.
I started with the ice baths this week.
And given that today is Sunday,
Excuse me, Saturday.
Jesus!
I lose track of days.
Given that it's a Saturday,
I'm going to take advantage of-
It's not a slow day.
Can't call it a slow day because I'm going to work all day.
Saturday is a more relaxed work day.
There's less stress from people messaging me,
and meeting things,
and so I'm going to take advantage.
I'm going to spend--
I'm going to do an hour,
maybe even a little more,
of recovery.
So I'm about to hit the sauna,
I'm going to do that for 30 minutes,
really going to push myself there to stay past my threshold for--
And I have a pretty high threshold,
but I'm going to stay past my threshold.
It's heating up right now.
And when I come back,
I'm going to do an ice bath.
I'm going to try to do a 30 minutes ice bath.
So that'll be about an hour total of recovery,
and depending on how I'm feeling,
I'll use my pneumatic compression boots,
work for a little bit,
and then have my first meal.
I like to do what's called a fat fast,
which is basically where,
before my first meal,
I only consume things that are 100% fat.
So that bulletproof coffee a tablespoon of ghee,
a tablespoon of MCT,
again, 100% fat.
Nnothing that's going to spike my insulin.
So let's go ahead and start this recovery,
and get it over with.
First I got to find something to throw on to the--
I'm so happy I got this.
Now when I'm in the sauna,
and even when I'm in the ice bath,
I have something to just listen to
because otherwise I just I'm focused on the pain,
That doesn't bode well as far as my ability to sustain.
Or to stay past my threshold.
So, you know, let's get this recovery started
Alright guys,
I'm done with the sauna.
I did 29 minutes.
Now I'm going t hit the ice bath,
so I'm filling it up right now,
going to throw three bags of ice in.
I'm going to try to do another 30 minutes.
The strategy is to cover myself with hot water first.
Which I'm going to do right now.
And then, just get in very, very quickly.
And I'm going to sit there for 30 minutes today, we'll see.
So after the ice bath,
my body was freezing which is why I put on a sweater,
and sweatpants.
And it's taken over an hour and a half for my body to just get back to normal temperature.
So I'm going to get back into normal clothes.
So this is tablespoon of coconut oil,
50 grams of cauliflower,
50 grams of tomato,
3 eggs,
and then 100 grams of avocado.
I'm going to go ahead, eat this.
I got two more meals today,
one snack,
and then of course dinner.
So, look at the macros up on the screen.
I'm going to eat this,
and I'll see you guys in the next clip.
