Seattle Attacks Gun-Owners With 'Safe Storage' Gun Laws, Blindsided After NRA Shows Up With
Lawsuit
A recently passed law by the City of Seattle is facing a lawsuit before it even goes into
effect.
The National Rifle Association, the Seattle-area Second Amendment Foundation and two Seattle
residents are suing over the city's new gun-safety law, which was signed into law
last week and becomes effective Jan. 1.
The lawsuit was filed Friday in King County Superior Court.
The suit alleges the new "safe storage" requirement violates state law which prevents
cities from regulating guns.
Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan — who signed the law into effect — and the city's police
chief, Carmen Best, are also named as defendants in the lawsuit.
Under the new law, gun owners can be fined up to $500 for failure to store a firearm
in a locked container or to render it unusable by anyone other than the owner.
That fine would increase to $1,000 if a minor or anyone else prohibited from using the gun
gets their hands on an unsecured weapon.
A fine of up to $10,000 would be assessed if a minor or prohibited person uses an unsecured
firearm to cause injury, death or commit a crime.
In addition, a gun owner who does not promptly report a lost, stolen or "improperly"
used gun could face fines of between $500 and $1,000.
The legislation will apply only to guns that are stored.
Guns being carried legally under the control of their owners are not affected.
In a statement announcing its lawsuit, the Second Amendment Foundation said the state's
legislature has sole authority to adopt gun laws including, but not limited to, "registration,
licensing, possession, purchase, sale, acquisition, transfer, discharge and transportation"
of firearms.
"Seattle seems to think it should be treated differently than any other local government
when it comes to firearm regulation," SAF founder and Executive Vice President Alan
Gottlieb said, according to KOMO-TV.
"We should not have to repeatedly remind Seattle that they are still part of Washington
state and must obey the law."
The city responded to the suit with an expected "do-it-for-the-kids" argument.
"Frankly, this is no surprise," City Attorney Pete Holmes said in a statement to The Seattle
Times.
"The mayor and council are trying to prevent children from accessing guns with this Safe
Storage legislation.
If the NRA and SAF want to be on record fighting responsible gun ownership, that's their
choice."
Dave Workman of the SAF said the law not only doesn't improve safety, it also is almost
impossible to enforce.
"How do they expect to enforce something like that," Workman told KCPQ-TV.
"What a person does in the privacy of their own home is really none of the city's business."
This is not Seattle's first attempt at going around state law to control guns.
In 2010, the city banned firearms from Seattle parks.
Again, the NRA and SAF sued, and the law was eventually ruled unconstitutional.
While those on the left will argue this is simply the kind of "common sense" gun
laws they often demand, the reality is that responsible gun owners almost always have
their weapons secure.
And the two citizens who are part of this suit claim the law would prevent them from
having guns by their side if they believe they were needed for self-defense.
Workman says he doesn't believe this new law will be on the books for long, and said
the mayor has a larger goal in mind with this ordinance.
"The purpose isn't safe fire arms, they are trying to erode the state's preemptive
statute," Workman said.

Every time Meghan Markle is photographed in public people immediately scrutinise what
she's wearing.
Since wedding Prince Harry this year, she has pushed the boundaries of the traditional
royal wardrobe.
So far she's impressed most fashion lovers with her modern look, which is very different
to the traditional royal 'look'.
Unlike her sister-in-law the Duchess of Cambridge, one of Meghan's favourite items seems to be
trousers and she's often spotted in flares or the cigarette style.
But it turns out not everyone loves some of her bolder fashion ideas - including Prince
Harry.
In fact, there's one look he particularly disapproves of and he actually gave a 'thumbs
down' to during a recent meeting to discuss her outfits for the October tour of Australia.
Meghan has been meeting with various designers to plan her looks for the trip at Kensington
Palace with husband by her side.
But when they were shown a masculine Stella McCartney tuxedo suit, Prince Harry wasn't
impressed.
A source told Mail Online : "Meghan is being told she needs to stop dressing like a Hollywood
star and start dressing like a Royal.
"Meghan wanted to wear a tuxedo-style suit but Harry said it wasn't traditional enough."
But Meghan isn't the first royal to swap a formal evening gown for a tuxedo - and Prince
Harry's mum Diana wore them on several occasions.
Harry and Meghan will be following in the footsteps of his parents, the Prince of Wales
and Diana, whose first royal tour as a married couple was also to Australia and New Zealand.
MEGHAN Markle often breaks tradition by wearing trousers – but there is one clothing item
she may have to swerve.
But apparently, there's one item of clothing that Meghan has been banned from wearing.
According to The Mail on Sunday, Harry rejected one of the outfits his wife purchased for
their upcoming Australia tour.
The Prince is said to have thumbsed-down Meg's plans to wear a masculine suit.
While the royal is regularly pictured wearing trousers, the Stella McCartney tuxedo is apparently
unacceptable.
Instead, her aides have allegedly advised her to stick to "demure skirts and opaque
tights".
In an interview with the paper, an insider said: "Meghan is being told she needs to

The famous ensemble also included a vibrant green waistcoat.
And in 1984, Diana sported a black and white suit to a Genesis rock concert.
Since she walked down the aisle in May, Meghan has had to be more mindful of royal protocol.
Earlier this week, reports claimed she was finding these regulations strict to get her
head around.
One insider alleged that she "has found certain rules in the royal household difficult
to understand - like the fact that the Queen prefers women in dresses or skirts rather
than trouser suits".
They added: "I think she finds it a little frustrating at times, but this is her new
life, and she has to deal with it."
Following these reports, the Palace denied the claims as a "fabrication".

Quick & Easy Art Journal Process When You don't Have A Lot Of Time - Duration: 8:47.
hi everyone its Keren here and welcome back to my channel today I have a new
tutorial where I created a quick and easy our journaling page and where I
show you a step-by-step our journal process using visible image stamps and
I'm working inside my joggle 6x6 this bount
watercolor art journal all the products are listed below in the description area
now I love working in my discount art journal from juggles I love my 6x6 it's
a great space and a great great size and I love it that you can remove the pages
the thing with this double art journal page is that I've already used a journal
several times and now all my pages are done on one side and I want to make sure
that the other side is filled as well however I do not want to ruin the other
side because I live really loved the pages so I can't put too much of a wet
medium in the back so I figured that the best medium to do behind it is to use
distress exciting's so I took my Tim Holtz glass mat which
actually has been sitting in a box for a while and don't know why I never used it
because I truly truly love it and it's just so easy to use and I'm
doing it right on top of it and I'm using the white part to add the ink and
I'm using several colors of distress Hawk sightings which I will list below
and all I'm doing is just adding them to my white matte and then spraying them
with a little bit of water and then dipping my pages now you can see that
both pages have in different type of art journal in the back so what I'm trying
to do is I'm trying to fill a set of our journals
in the middle now if you don't want to do double spreads I know some people use
this disc bound journal and just use one side of the 6x6 page and then you don't
have to worry about filling the back it will just stay white and plain and
that's okay as well I love both ways of doing that but because I wanted to have
a full journal I am doing this and that's the reason why I am using a
medium that is not so liquidy so it will not stay in the back
not soak the paper as much I really love this art journal specifically because
you can remove the pages and you can do so many things with it so I don't have
to be stuck inside in our journal and it doesn't also ruin the middle of the art
journal where the binding is this way I can remove it and then put it on at the
end I also love the way the distress oxide earrings create an amazing simple
background you don't have to do much to it you can just continue adding
different stained elements with different colors and it creates a
fabulous background that you can just add things to it after so by continuing
to add the colors you continue to add really nice things to it as well one of
the things I wanted to do is I wanted to match some of the stains that were
already on the back of this art journal I wanted to match them with the same
colors from the distress Hawk sightings and other things I wanted to do is I
wanted to use some of my distress oxide inks because I just recently purchased
the next 12 colors and I realized that some of the third bundle that I had
bought I have not used it was a good way to taking them out and using them for
this purpose so I continued adding layers of the colors until I was happy
with the result then I just heat said and that was it and I wanted to talk
about the point of this type of art journaling this is a very simple easy to
make art journal and the reason why I'm doing it is because I wanted to our
journal and create art but I'm really constricted in terms of time I don't
have time right now there's a lot of things going on and I'm very very busy
and I still wanted to journal I still wanted to have video content for my
youtube channel but I really didn't know what to do and I wanted to show that
it's sometimes just easy to show a simple way of doing are generally not
using a lot of products just very very simple and that still looks beautiful
and it still gets that art craving and that amazing feeling that you get when
you create art but it doesn't have to be something too complicated since I wanted
to keep everything very simple I wanted to have just one stamped focal image and
I took this amazing life is beautiful stamp from visible image which is an
amazing a penny from the UK and I took the
hummingbird from the stamp set and placed it where I wanted it on the left
side of the page then using my stamp platform from Tim Holtz I decided to
stamp the image onto the background I use black archival ink and just stamp
the image I had to stamp it a few times just because the paper is not smooth in
the background so some of the parts were not stamping perfectly but that's why
it's so good to have a stamp positioner like the Tim Holtz stamp platform so I
just continued doing this a couple times until I was able to stamp the whole
image this hummingbird is just beautiful I really love the silhouette effect and
the distress that it has in the wing so it looks like it's flying and I thought
it was amazing to have it for a focal point for the other side I decided to
stamp the sentiment that comes with the stamp set which says life is beautiful
it's really nice to stamp it above and I used the same ink to stamp this and I
only had to use the stamp platform twice in order to get a crisp image to add
some more distress and interest to the background I took the third stamp that
came in the set and using a stamp lock I stamped it around the page using the
black archival ink again this gave a lot of interest to my background and made
the images look cohesive then to match the splatters from the back of the
hummingbird I took some black soot distress oxide ink and diluted it with a
little bit of water and then splattered it in the background all you have to do
is just create a nice watercolor like consistency and then tap a paint brush
to create the splatters then I use what was left over on my mat to distress the
edges it's really easy to just move the edges along the wet areas and all it
does it creates a nice border for the background and I love having borders on
my backgrounds because they're really frame everything
well he said everything really well and then I took my black football pen and
started adding border markings around the edges of the journal I love doing
this as well because it enhances the borders and all I did is just randomly
add lines very roughly so they become distressed and uneven I also felt like
the background in it a little bit more so I took a script stamp and I just
added a little bit of that script image around the edges of my background that
way it kind of framed everything and created a really nice distressed look to
everything which was the theme that I was going for in this art journal I
really wanted to keep this simple and not add too many elements so that's why
I only did stamping and a little bit of distressing finally I took my white
uniball signo pen and started adding a little bit of white markings on the bird
I just basically highlighted the wings and the tail just so they would stand
out a little bit more once I was done all I had to do is just pop the pages
back in and it was perfect and it didn't damage the back of the pages and now I
have double-sided art journal pages that I can enjoy when I'm flipping through
the journal so some of the pages had a lot of wet elements on them and then
there's these quick and easy pages where I use things like ink to create their
backgrounds and that way they didn't stay in the back of the other pages

Mysterious Akavir
Akavir means "Dragon Land." Tamriel means "Dawn's Beauty." Atmora means "Elder Wood." Only the Redguards know what Yokuda ever meant.
Akavir is the kingdom of the beasts. No Men or Mer live in Akavir, though Men once did.
These Men, however, were eaten long ago by the vampiric Serpent Folk of Tsaesci.
Had they not been eaten, these Men would have eventually migrated to Tamriel.
The Nords left Atmora for Tamriel. Before them, the Elves had abandoned Aldmeris for Tamriel.
The Redguards destroyed Yokuda so they could make their journey.
All Men and Mer know Tamriel is the nexus of creation, where the Last War will happen, where the Gods unmade Lorkhan and left their Adamantine Tower of secrets.
Who knows what the Akaviri think of Tamriel, but ask yourself: why have they tried to invade it three times or more?
There are four major nations of Akavir: Kamal, Tsaesci, Tang Mo, and Ka Po' Tun.
When they are not busy trying to invade Tamriel, they are fighting with each other.
Kamal is "Snow Hell." Demons live there, armies of them. Every summer they thaw out and invade Tang Mo, but the brave monkey-folk always drive them away.
Once Ada'Soom Dir-Kamal, a king among demons, attempted to conquer Morrowind, but Almalexia and the Underking destroyed him at Red Mountain.
Tsaesci is "Snake Palace," once the strongest power in Akavir. The serpent-folk ate all the Men of Akavir a long time ago, but still kind of look like them.
They are tall, beautiful, covered in golden scales, and immortal. They enslave the goblins of the surrounding isles, who provide labor and fresh blood.
The holdings of Tsaesci are widespread. When natives of Tamriel think of the Akaviri they think of the Serpent-Folk,
because one ruled the Cyrodilic Empire for four hundred years in the previous era.
Tang Mo is the "Thousand Monkey Isles." There are many breeds of monkey-folk, and they are all kind, brave, and simple.
They can raise armies when they must, for all of the other Akaviri nations have, at one time or another, tried to enslave them.
They cannot decide who they hate more, the Snakes or the Demons, but ask one, and he will probably say, "Snakes."
Though once bitter enemies, the monkey-folk are now allies with the tiger-folk of Ka Po' Tun.
Ka Po' Tun is the "Tiger-Dragon's Empire." The cat-folk here are ruled by the divine Tosh Raka, the Tiger-Dragon. They are now a very great empire, stronger than Tsaesci.
After the Serpent-Folk ate all the Men, they tried to eat all the Dragons. They managed to enslave the Red Dragons, but the black ones had fled to Po Tun.
A great war was raged, which left both the cats and the snakes weak, and the Dragons all dead. Since that time the cat-folk have tried to become the Dragons.
Tosh Raka is the first to succeed. He is the largest Dragon in the world, orange and black, and he has very many new ideas.
"First," Tosh Raka says, "is that we kill all the vampire snakes." Then the Tiger-Dragon Emperor wants to invade Tamriel.
