Make a Chunky Knit Cuddle Blanket with Jenny! - Duration: 10:49.Jenny: Hi everybody, it's Jenny from the MSQC.
And I am here today with my daughter Natalie.
And we have a really fun project for you today.
I don't know if you've seen these big Merino wool blankets.
What are they called?
Natalie: Big Knit.
Jenny: Big Knit, Big Knit blankets?
And they are so cool looking.
But super, super spendy.
Natalie: Well they're expensive and they're also hard to care for.
Jenny: Oh ya you can't wash, you can't really wash them and stuff like that.
So Natalie had this brilliant idea, what if we do it with cuddle.
Natalie: Ah huh.
Jenny: And so this is what they look like.
Look at this.
Look how cool this is.
Don't you just want to wrap up in this?
Natalie: This is the back.
Jenny: I mean this is amazing.
Ok, there's the back.
There's the front.
I can't tell the difference but she can.
Isn't that beautiful?
So we're going to show you how to do this.
Jenny: So to make this project what you're going to need is eight yards of cuddle.
And that's a lot of cuddle.
And you're going to cut it into four inch strips like this.
Natalie: Yep.
Jenny: And then you're just going to sew them together end to end.
And I have two here just to show you.
Natalie: The great thing about cuddle is that it doesn't fray.
So you don't have to worry.
I mean it will shed the day that you do this project but after it's been washed you won't
have to deal with that anymore.
Jenny: Now what can you do about that shedding, honestly?
Use a shop vac?
Natalie: Or you could throw it all in the dryer
Jenny: Throw it in the dryer, throw it in the dryer.
And then you won't get so covered.
And you're just going to sew them together, just straight across your seam, just like
that.
Natalie: The other thing I think would be cool is if you just used your scraps.
So everytime you do a cuddle project, you know we always end up with like a quarter
yard leftover or something like that.
Jenny: That's true Natalie: Like that, you can just keep collecting
these four inch strips and sew them together and create a big yarn ball.
Jenny: And we actually have one we'll show you at the end that is made with pieces.
Natalie: In different colors.
Jenny: In different colors.
So do we want to sew this onto there?
So look how cool this is?
Natalie: Sure.
Jenny: She's got this all wrapped up just like this giant yarn ball.
I just think that's so fun.
So probably the only other thing you're going to need when you make this blanket besides
your eight yards of cuddle is going to be one of these.
This is going to be your friend.
We just keep getting covered with this.
You're going to need a lint roller.
Natalie: Yes, it's ok though.
Jenny: Now we're going to use the whole table for this so I'm going to move my sewing
machine off here.
Once you're done sewing your strips together that's all the sewing you'll need to do.
Natalie: Alright so you start with a slip knot.
Jenny: Alright let's show that slower up there because a slip knot, a slip knot is
where you, the knot you can pull it right out.
If you can't pull it right out.
Let me move this ball.
If you can't pull it right through you know you don't have a slip knot.
So show them again how you do that.
Natalie: So there's your first loop.
Jenny: There's your first loop.
So basically we're going to be knitting this cuddle fabric.
And we're going to put 15 stitches in this first, first row.
Natalie: Chain stitch 15.
Jenny: So that just means you're going to grab that cuddle and pull it through the loop
like this so that's a chain stitch.
See so let me count for you.
We have one, two, three, four, are you counting, five, six, seven, eight, nine.
And if you want it bigger of course you make it bigger.
This just makes a nice little, a little lap quilt.
And they're heavy.
They keep you really warm.
One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten, eleven, twelve, thirteen, fourteen,
fifteen perfect.
Natalie: Alright.
Then you have a loop that starts your next row.
And you just keep your yarn kind of going the direction you want.
Jenny: You know you want to roll off.
Once, we put our in a ball because we thought it looked so cute and it actually keeps it
organized good.
But once you, once you get ready to make a row, pull, pull a good amount off.
Alright let's look at what she's doing here.
Natalie: Ok so you want to make sure that you don't go into the same loop that you
just did.
So you go one over and then just start pulling up the next set of loops for the next row.
Jenny: So you're just actually, and you leave the loop sticking right up?
Natalie: Yep.
Jenny: Ok.
Natalie: So you just keep looping it through.
Jenny: So when we talk about pulling it through the loop, this is, this is the loop we mean.
I'm showing this because I always get a little.
So this piece that comes over the top like this, right here, this is the loop.
So then you would just reach through and pull that through, correct?
Natalie: Ah huh.
That's right.
Jenny: And then, and then make sure you don't pull it out of the next one.
Natalie: Right and just leave them all, make sure they're all about the same size.
Jenny: Ok.
Natalie: But you know, keep it loose.
And go back if you want to and count and make sure you still have 15 so that you can keep
your rows all the same.
Jenny: You don't to slip a stitch.
Natalie: Make sure, ya, you haven't dropped a stitch or added one.
Jenny: Alright now we're here at the end.
Ya I think the first row is always the hardest on any project like this.
Natalie: It is.
It is.
So you want to make one new loop to start your next row.
And then you just keep going.
Jenny: You just keep pulling them through those loops.
Natalie: Yep.
Jenny: It's very, actually, it's very kind of relaxing to do this isn't it?
Natalie: Ya.
Jenny: I know Natalie did it and then, I mean she did like two or three in a day.
It was actually pretty fast and pretty relaxing.
Natalie: Yep it does go fast once you get the hang of it.
Jenny: Alright so now we're at the end.
And then you go back through that loop.
Natalie: Pull off more yarn Jenny: And pull off more yarn.
Isn't that the funnest yarn ball you've ever seen?
Funnest, that wasn't good English.
The most fun.
My mother would have gone, Jenny, not good English.
Natalie: My mother too.
Jenny: Ya your mother too.
I'm like, really?
Alright so we're just going along.
Natalie: Keep that straight.
Jenny: I should be helping you a little more, shouldn't I?
Natalie: That's fine.
Jenny: See how the knit is starting to take place.
Natalie: Five, six Jenny: Seven, eight, nine.
Jenny: So we're back in to show you the very last row.
Natalie: Yep.
Jenny: Natalie has been working hard over here, pulling, pulling cuddle through loops.
You want to keep your cuddle always, or your yarn always going the same direction that
you're knitting, correct?
Natalie: Yes.
Jenny: And now we're going to show you the finishing row.
And to do that let's move that over here right so we can get it in the overhead camera.
So basically you're going to pick up two loops.
Natalie: So you put your hand through the active loop and you pick up the other loop
and you pull the yarn through both loops.
Jenny: Oh ok Natalie: Then you keep your hand on this active
loop and pick up the next one and pull the loop the yarn through to make a new loop.
Jenny: Ok.
Natalie: Does that make sense?
So Jenny: So we're picking up two, pulling
the yarn through.
It's like a little rhyme right there.
Natalie: Yep.
Jenny: Picking up two, pull the yarn through.
You know I make those little mantras for myself all the time.
I kind of drive my children crazy, just a little crazy.
Natalie: Not me.
Jenny: Not you?
There are other children we shall not name who I drive crazy.
They shall remain nameless.
Alright so you pick up two, pull that yarn through.
It still sounds musical when I say it.
And then we're here to the last loop Natalie: And basically you just pull it all
the way through and make a knot Jenny: And make a knot.
Natalie: And then you're going to take this piece and just weave it back in.
And what you can do with it is either leave it tucked in or you can use a needle and thread
and just tack it down so it doesn't come out.
Jenny: I don't think we tacked any of ours though.
Natalie: We didn't.
Jenny: We just wove it through the, just take it through the stitch and wrap it it around.
Natalie: Ya because it hides.
Jenny: And you can shorten it but you don't want it too short because you really want
that end to be able to catch in.
Natalie: Right you just sort of tuck it inside.
And the cuddle just kind of slides in itself.
Jenny: Alright let's show how big this came out.
Natalie: Oh I've got to tuck or weave this one in too.
Jenny: So how cool is this?
Now you know a while ago we made a weighted blankets
Natalie: I think this would be a great alternative Jenny: A great alternative for a weighted
blanket.
I mean Natalie: It's very heavy
Jenny: It's, it's really comfy to lay under this.
Alright let's them the one where we used all of the scraps, ok?
Natalie: Ok.
Jenny: So we have this one here.
And it's a bit bigger.
We used the scraps.
Natalie: We have three colors, the white.
We also used different textures.
I don't know if you, if the camera will pick that up.
But this one here is really fuzzy and this is just the regular cuddle
Jenny: Oh ya, this is the fluffy.
Natalie: Right.
Jenny: Also the fluffier your cuddle the more forgiving it is, right?
Natalie: Ya it's not going to show if your seams show a little bit or, the fluffy stuff
hides it really well, so this is fun because we have
Jenny: So this is scraps.
We really don't have any idea of the yardage do we?
Natalie: It's about 16 yards, maybe a little bit more than that.
Jenny: 16 yards, so about double Natalie: Maybe 20 yards.
Jenny: And oh my gosh, they're just so luxurious and comfy
Natalie: Comfy.
I had it at home and one of my daughters didn't want to let it go
Jenny: There we go.
Natalie: We showed the white one already, right?
Jenny: We showed the white one.
We've got this one.
We've got the pink one.
Natalie: This is the back by the way.
That's how the back looks.
Jenny: Alright let's keep it to the front.
It's how the loop goes I guess.
Natalie: It's still snuggly Jenny: It's still snuggly either way.
Natalie: Yep.
Jenny: So we hope you enjoyed this tutorial on our Big Knit, is that what we're calling
this?
Natalie: How about Chunky Knit.
Jenny: Chunky Knit.
The Chunky Knit blanket.
Natalie: Cuddle blanket.
Jenny: The Chunky Knit Cuddle blanket from the MSQC.

Where? Is the door open?
- It's not. / - No.
(The bell rings again.)
- They must be watching us. / - They probably are.
I will announce your mission for today.
They're watching us.
- It's obvious. / - Let's take it down.
We already know what's going on.
(They already figured it out.)
- See? / - Those born in 1946,
- 1958, / - 1958?
1970, 1982,
- What? / - 1994,
- We know. / - and 2006.
2006?
You must find one person born of each year.
- What? / - Born in 2006?
Their age must be verified in some way.
Does it have to be a celebrity?
- There'll be a lot. / - It can be anyone.
It's easy to find a winter scenery.
It's winter outside.
(Take a photo of a winter scenery.)
(They figured out this mission as well.)
It must be similar to the examples provided.
The photographer must approve.
Where are the examples?
(Those?)
(Knocking)
They'll be provided.
(Junho wants to go to the bathroom.)
It's by your feet.
What? This is unbelievable.
(He was thinking about escaping.)
We need to go by a stream.
A stream?
It's too warm for icicles like this.
(Icicles under the eaves)
(A kid playing on ice)
We need to go to Gangwon Province.
I just went there last week.
- What? / - We can use this.
Let's use these.
Siyoon's already taken these photos.
Where is this?
These are even better.
- Good thing he went there. / - These are amazing.
This is the "Pocket Money Game".
2018 is the Year of the Golden Dog.
Out of the items you have on,
you will receive a dollar each
for anything that's yellow or golden.
(Siyoon's covered in yellow!)
(Every yellow item is worth a dollar.)
Look. This is the color gold.
You're not wearing anything that's yellow.
- Of course, I am. / - That's mustard.
That's unfair.
That's not golden.
Everything is gold. I have this and this.
- No. / - It's mustard.
- Who's the judge? / - It's too vague.
- Right. / - Gold should be shiny.
If I receive money for my coat,
- I will not share it. / - Look.
I'm not going to share.
- You're in yellow. / - I don't have any.
- Not even a single item. / - This, too.
It's just the three of us.
Look. My golden tooth!
His yellow teeth.
- He has yellow teeth. / - It's like last year.
Are you admitting it?
A kid saw me on the street and yelled,
"It's Mr. Yellow Teeth."
He really did.
(It upset him.)
I wasn't the one who said it.
- Then who was it? / - Him.
(Annoying)
- Go ahead. / - Right.
The jacket and pants I'm wearing
are yellow.
- That's it. / - That's two dollars.
(Siyoon receives two dollars.)
Jongmin, you're next.
- This doesn't count. / - My coat
and my boots are yellow.
- Do they count? / - My pants are yellow too.
That coat isn't yellow.
My coat and boots.
Only your boots count.
- But... / - Don't be so greedy.
- Just tell me this. / - Not all gold
is the same purity!
This is 14K and this is 24K gold.
- That's more like orange. / - I have two items.
Okay!
- Do they count? / - Yes.
I have more.
The stitching on my shoes is yellow!
(It's there although it can't be seen.)
- Now you're pushing it. / - No, look.
The stitching is yellow.
What about my shoelaces?
Okay!
- Really? / - My shoelaces too.
- You already said that. / - Not my shoelaces.
They're one and the same.
(It doesn't work for Jongmin.)
It's my turn.
This is actually gold.
- No way. / - This is gold.
See?
(This part.)
I have yellow socks on.
- Also... / - Your teeth?
I have yellow teeth.
You've made it clear that they're yellow.
(Laughing)
It's even more yellow today.
(What do you say?)
- Yellow teeth. / - Get lost.
It was accepted!
- Good. / - I dyed my hair
with a yellow color.
- Also... / - Hold on a second.
- I have jaundice. / - That won't count.
- I have jaundice. / - It's my turn now.
I have jaundice.
Since it's the new year, I dyed my eyebrows.
(Yellow eyebrows)
- These are mine. / - Hey!
Why would you eat my eyebrows?
Nice. Who earned the most?
- Me. / - How many did you have?
- Three. / - He had three.
Check your underwear.
Something yellow...
If I had known, I'd be covered in yellow.
- I dressed to impress... / - Yes. I found some too!
The screw in my helmet is yellow.
Why aren't I wearing anything that's yellow?
- Good. / - Let's look.
- Nice! / - This is unbelievable.
Even my shoelaces aren't yellow.
Yellow items aren't common.
Why are you stripping?
- I'm looking for a speck of yellow. / - See?
There could be something.
Check your buttons.
I have it.
I don't know if you can see this,
but the button on my jeans...
Check your right pocket.
It's kind of yellow.
Doesn't that count?
Look at it.
(He looks pathetic from behind.)
The door's open.
It's open!
(Take that!)
- What's that? / - What is it?
Hold on a second.
What is it?
- Read it. / - Read it.
Kim Yejin.
(It's money!)
Give it here.
We must be a team.
It was given to all of us.
We should've insisted more.
We're supposed to be a team anyway.
I'll hold on to the money.
I can't trust you, so I will.
- It's for the whole team. / - Let me see.
We'll divide the money.
Why would we do that?
- Give it to me. / - Wait.
I'm taking mine.
I earned three.
- I earned three too. / - No way!
- I did. / - What about Hyun Bin?
Let go.
Or what?
Why should you have the money?
(What a mess.)
Please arrive at the address on the envelope by 5 p.m.
- Seocheon? / - If you arrive late
or without completing your mission...
Look at the photo on the wall.
(Is this a clue to what the penalty is?)
I know what this is.
- It's a magic eye image. / - Right.
I'm good at this.
(We've all stared at these before.)
Let's eat some.
There's even a speaker here.
- Do you see it? / - No.
(He looks here and there.)
I saw it. I saw it!
I saw the image.
What's a magic eye image?
I see it too.
(I want to see it too!)
- I see words. / - I see it too.
- It says, "diving". / - That's right.
It says, "diving"!
What are you talking about?
Let me see.
It says "diving" in Korean.
What are you talking about?
You're right!
(Unlike the others, Junho can't see it.)
Where is it written?
- I wish I hadn't seen it. / - Where?
(Can you see the word "diving" too?)
Force your eyes to look at the center.
Use the cross-eye method.
(Like this?)
More. Bring them closer.
- Closer. / - This one's tougher.
(Jongmin cuts in!)
Are you kidding me?
(The two still can't see the word.)
- I don't see it. / - I used to do this a lot.
What about the numbers?
I see numbers.
"Diving"!
- I saw it. / - I saw it too.
Right.
(They didn't see it.)
Junho lied about seeing the word.
(Diving)
Let's look at the time we have.
- There's plenty. / - That's right.
- We don't. / - How about some coffee?
- Let's take a nap. / - Come on.
I can't believe you guys!
My house is nearby, so let's take a nap.
Let's invite those born in the Year of the Dog over.
What about the one born in 2006?
Why would we go to a kid?
That's right. The kid should come to us.
(Meanwhile, the staff sends over a dove.)
Were you sleeping? Where are you?
Yes, what do they have lined up today?
Why is it just me?
- Let's get going. / - How old are they?
(A camera as a gift for the one who had a salted drink)
(A lot of cables)
Ayeon
(They're given a camera.)
Ayeon was born in the Year of the Dog.
Is that so?
Do you know what BTS has planned?
Let me tell you about the camera.
- The camera... / - What are you wearing?
I'm a symbol of peace.
Are you kidding me?
Why is he dressed as a dove?
We thought you're like that because you were stressed.
So let me explain.
(Cornered)
Always make sure
to check the sound and video.
How?
Like this.
At a new location,
please film a background shot first.
(Like this.)
Then when you all face the camera,
it must capture all six of you fully.
(Like this.)
Syncing the timecode is important,
so please clap whenever you turn it on and off.
(Like this.)
Your car for the day
is at the bottom of the front steps.
- All right. / - Let's get going.
We'll do the rest.
In the car,
always fasten your seatbelts.
Sure.
He can't leave.
- Will you open it? / - Don't go!
I really need to go to the bathroom. It's urgent.
We'll fail if you let him leave.
- Stop him! / - But you should get going anyway.
(Cornered)
Hold on. I'm locking you in.
Please let me go.
He's a symbol of peace.
(The dove is stomped on.)
He's a symbol of peace.
Let me out. I really need to go.
(Squashed)
The toilet.
- Where's the toilet? / - Let's go.

Kal Sowon, a star born in the Dog Year of 2006! [2Days & 1Night-Season 3/2018.02.11] - Duration: 13:52.We can't clear the mission at this speed.
Let's just give up and go in the water.
Joonyoung's right. Let's just give up.
- Let's just play. / - Let's go to an amusement park.
Let's just play.
(They become similar to each other.)
- You're so ugly. / - You're so ugly.
(It's hard to tell the difference.)
There's no candid camera this time.
Right.
(They stride through KBS Studio.)
(A man in a red sweater looks familiar.)
(Who is he?)
Hey.
(He's one of the staff members.)
(He's Alpha-O Pigeon with messages of peace.)
(He's quite flustered.)
What?
- What's going on? / - What should we do?
- Where are you going? / - I have to go somewhere.
Are you going out to play together?
(He has no worry at all.)
Okay.
(Meanwhile, Taehyun...)
That must be the van.
(Struggling)
(Difficulty of being a cameraman)
Do I keep it attached?
(Fidgeting)
(He puts down)
(the precious camera.)
(Pro-gamer Joonyoung gets in.)
This rifle is a nuisance.
(He struggles because of the rifle.)
What's going on?
- What are you doing? / - I'm searching.
We should call them up soon.
We don't have much time.
There's Yoo Inna.
Do you know Hong Seobeom? There's also Han Jimin.
Do you know Kim Sooro?
Kim Minjoung, EL.
There's Ha Seokjin.
Lee Joongi was also born in the Year of the Dog.
- It doesn't have to be a celebrity. / - Right.
Hello, I'm Kim Junho from Two Days and One Night.
Hello.
We're shooting Two Days and One Night today.
- Yes? / - Our mission
is to find people
(He seems unusually nervous.)
born in the Year of the Dog.
- We need their blessing. / - He's so nervous.
Why are you so careful?
You're just on the phone.
I'm sure that you're busy,
but I was wondering if you're in Yeouido now.
May I call you back with this number?
Yes, definitely.
- I'll call you back. / - Thank you.
(Soon after...)
Hello?
Are you at the National Assembly Hall?
(National Assembly Hall?)
Yes, okay.
- He said it's possible. / - Let's go.
- He's at Assembly Hall. / - Really?
- What's going on? / - The roof is green.
- He told us to come. / - There?
To the National Assembly Hall?
- How do we get in? / - Let's just go.
Let's go since we don't have time.
I've never been to the National Assembly Hall.
- My goodness. / - Here.
(To get blessing from someone,)
(they head to the National Assembly Hall.)
- Is that it? / - Yes.
(The building looks familiar.)
(They can't believe it.)
We're at the National Assembly Hall.
Are all political parties here?
- Yes. / - It's my first time here.
- You should turn right. / - Here?
There's Taekwon V here.
Do you know that the roof wasn't originally green?
- What color was it? / - It was red.
- Why? / - Time turned it green.
That's a lie.
(It changed to green due to the passing of time.)
- It's true. / - Do you know her?
I just called her.
Are we going without having met her before?
Is she willing to meet you?
(He called the National Assembly.)
We're only asking for a word of blessing.
- This is good. / - That's amazing.
(They don't know who to contact.)
(How about a well-known woman?)
(They look up famous women)
(born in the Year of the Dog.)
That's amazing.
Han Biya.
(Among the many women born in the Year of the Dog,)
(he calls someone who is nearest to them.)
(He carefully asks for blessings.)
Are you in Yeouido?
- This must be it. / - Which floor?
(They enter the National Assembly Hall.)
- Did you press it? / - Yes.
- Okay. / - In two, three.
- It's my first time here. / - Goodness.
(He's nervous.)
He dared to call her.
I'll film you.
(Siyoon films Junho entering.)
I'll go in.
- For now... / - The camera is rolling.
Let's go.
(He tries to enter naturally.)
Hello. Thank you.
Hello.
(To enter in casual clothes...)
You're working hard.
(It's too serious inside.)
I can't believe this.
Let's keep our manners.
- Keep your manners. / - Yes.
We have to meet the Representative,
- Who is it? / - so keep your manners.
(It's the trend for the Year of the Dog.)
He dressed up to meet the Representative.
I dressed up for the year 2018.
(Stars in the sky are printed on his shirt.)
- My goodness. / - Keep your manners.
You're embarrassing.
- It's an amazing shirt. / - Keep your manners.
Hello, Ma'am.
- Hello. / - Hello, Ma'am.
(Congresswoman Choo Miae)
(Ms. Choo Miae of Democratic Party)
- Hello, Ms. Choo. / - You must be cold.
- Hello. / - Hello.
(Embarrassed)
Welcome.
This looks unfair. He's dressed warmly.
- We dressed ourselves. / - It looks like dog fur.
(His coat looks like dog fur.)
(He shows off.)
This is what I think.
"A society that rewards sweat over land."
(There's a serious side to Junho.)
It's one of her quotes.
- What is it? / - "Sweat over land".
- Do you have any land? / - No.
I miss the ball when playing golf.
I'm sorry.
He must sweat a lot. He has scanty clothes.
We ask you for blessings for the new year.
The Year of the Golden Dog
can take place only once in a lifetime.
Life is solitary these days.
We usually eat and drink alone.
That's why dogs feel more like our family.
- Right. / - I agree.
Dogs are friends whether you're lonely or happy.
They're lifelong friends. It's the Year of the Dog.
It's called the Year of the Golden Dog.
I hope things work smoothly without problems.
Goodness.
- Thank you. / - Thank you, Ma'am.
Let's get together.
Happy New Year.
- Two Days. / - One Night.
(We thank Congresswoman Choo Miae.)
(They leave the National Assembly Hall.)
- Hello? / - Sowon.
(Who is Sowon?)
You're so cute.
(Child actress Kal Sowon)
(Kal Sowon)
(has sung with Jongmin before.)
(Although it seems like they're acting happy,)
(he's still extremely happy.)
- How are you? / - I'm good.
I was in Jeju Island,
- but I'm back again. / - Where?
Where are you?
I'm in Seoul.
- Are you in Seoul? / - Gosh.
Hello, Sowon. I'm Uncle Junho.
Hello.
- Goodness. / - Gosh.
- Were you born in 2006? / - Yes.
We'll buy you present.
Can I speak with your grandma?
Okay. Hold on a second.
Ask her how old her grandma is.
- Hello, Ma'am. / - Hi.
Hi. I'm Kim Jongmin from Two Days and One Night.
Hi. Nice to meet you.
Sowon was born in 2006, the Year of the Dog.
Yes, that's right.
I'm wondering if she has time to see us.
- Sure. / - Thank you.
- Things are going great. / - Nice.
Everything is going smoothly in the new year.
(They're going to Guro-gu where Sowon is.)
How many left now?
Taehyun got someone who was born in 1970.
Who?
I sent a message to the film crew.
We'll go to Seongsu-dong after that.
We have 1946 and 1982 left.
1982.
Han Jimin. Han Yeseul.
- Lee Youngeun. / - Kim Minjoung.
Kang Hyejung. Kim Ajoong.
Kim Ajoong.
(He starts singing all of a sudden.)
(He's showing off that he's still a singer.)
(After that...)
Born in 1946. Nam Jin.
(Jongmin automatically starts singing.)
(Artificial intelligence jukebox)
(With my love)
(I want to live 100 years)
Yoon Bockhee was born in 1946.
(Starts singing automatically)
(Singing passionately)
Seriously, he sings really badly.
- How is this possible? / - He can't sing.
He's a singer, but he can't sing.
It's all about feeling.
I'm searching people who were born in 1934.
How about Noh Joohyun?
How do you know him?
We did "Vitamin" together.
Can you call his agency?
(Jongmin finds a person, Joonyoung calls,)
- Hello? / - Hello?
(then Junho does the talking.)
- Please talk to him. / - Okay.
I'm Kim Junho from Two Days and One Night.
Yes, hello.
(He explains the mission.)
- Okay. / - Thank you.
- Yes, thank you. / - Okay.
We have Noh Joohyun.
If he's in Anseong...
I just texted Hyejung,
and she's at a filming set in Anseong.
She was born in 1982.
- Amazing. / - Nice.
- That's great. / - We can drop by.
(Perfect team play)
Let's eat spicy steamed galbi in Seongsu-dong.
- Does that sound good? / - Anything is good.
Isn't it free today?
- It's free. / - Sure.
(They keep driving happily.)
This must be it.
- Is it over there? / - Yes.
(We're here.)
Hi. This is Kim Jongmin. I'm in the car.
- Wait. Tell her... / - Wait a minute.
Hello?
She should bring an ID card or something.
She doesn't have one since she's a minor.
Can't you think before you talk?
(Sullen)
(Their teamwork is broken in three minutes.)
Would you mind bringing Sowon's ID card?
Okay.
(Taehyun makes sure to collect proof.)
Turn the camera on. Hurry up. Clap.
- Clap once. / - One, two, three.
Give me one for the back.
One, two, three.
(Siyoon records an insert.)
(Siyoon films it artistically fast.)
- Got it. / - Sowon!
- Hi. / - Welcome.
- Hi. / - Hello.
- Hi. / - Nice to meet you.
(Kal Sowon, a star born in the Dog Year of 2006)
(She was in "Miracle in Cell No. 7".)
(She played the role of young Yeseung.)
(She made the audience cry and laugh.)
(Child actress Kal Sowon)
- Hi. / - She grew so much.
Were you born in 2006?
Yes. I'm going to be in 6th grade this year.
Is that so?
Sowon, how did you feel when Uncle Jongmin called you?
Earlier? I thought he called me by mistake.
Did you?
- I see. / - She's so cool.
Let's go to the playground.
This doesn't look very pretty.
Sowon, what are you filming these days?
"A Korean Odyssey". I'm on it
- once in a while. / - "A Korean Odyssey"?
"A Korean Odyssey". Do you remember this?
(A coat with the same print)
Did you borrow this coat?
I did. You know this, right?
- Yes. / - This is it.
- Is it really? / - Yes.
Of course.
I hear you have to go back to Jeju Island.
The school starts on Monday.
- School starts on Monday? / - Yes.
- You've grown so much. / - You're so busy.
- Sowon. / - Say Happy New Year.
We'll say it first.
- Okay. / - Happy New Year.
- Happy New Year. / - All right.
We'll hold the mic close like this.
- Go ahead. / - Uncle...
Uncle Jongmin called me out of the blue.
I think 2018 will be funny and exciting
like Uncle Jongmin.
My new year wish for Two Days and One Night
is to be very happy.
- Great. / - Nice.
- Thank you. / - Good job.
- That was great. / - Out of the six members,
tell us who you like the best.
- Rank them. / - From first to last.
It's a bit difficult.
Is it? Then just pick the least favorite person.
- Pick the least favorite. / - We want to know that.
(This must be the toughest moment in her life.)
(Junho and Jongmin, who almost always)
(place last, wait for the verdict.)
(Defconn turns away when Sowon looks at him.)
(What's the verdict?)
I'm sorry.
(She chooses Defconn.)
- Okay. / - Goodness.
- It's you. / - No way.
I should go back to Cuba.
I need to return to Cuba.
- "I'm sorry." / - You're so funny.
Is there a reason?
- Of course. / - Is it the coat?
There is no reason.
Something is just...
- "Something is just..." / - Then,
- who's the best? / - Good job.
As long as I'm not the worst, it's good.
- Thank you. / - Thank you.
Put your finger up like this.
- Two Days. / - One Night.
(Kal Sowon, a star born in the Dog Year of 2006)
I got a text message from Sowon.
- What did she say? / - What?
"Thanks for coming all the way here."
"Have a happy 2018."
"Uncle Defconn, I was just kidding earlier."
Goodness. She's cute.
She's so pretty.
She's really nice.

Special Forces Wife Getting Deported - Duration: 1:58.THE WIFE
OF A SPECIAL FORCES VETERAN IS FACING DEPORTATION.
HER NAME IS ELIA CRAWFORD AND SHE RESIDES IN VIRGINIA.
SHE IS THE WIFE OF RETIRED SERGEANT FIRST CLASS BOB
CRAWFORD AND COULD BE DEPORTED IF A VIRGINIA IMMIGRATION
COURT RULES AGAINST HER.
FOR VETS AND ACTIVE MILITARY MEMBERS THERE IS SOMETHING THAT
MAKES IT EASIER FOR THEIR SPOUSES TO BECOME US CITIZENS
BUT SINCE THERE IS A DEPORTATION ORDER IN PLACE AND SINCE THE
DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY REFUSES TO RESEND THAT
DEPORTATION ORDER, THEY ARE NOT ABLE TO APPLY FOR THE GREEN
CARD.
THIS PROCEDURE IS KNOWN AS THE PAROLE IN PLACE THAT WOULD
ALLOW FOR HER TO REMAIN IN THE UNITED STATES AND APPLY FOR
THE GREEN CARD.
THEY ARE NOT ALLOWING IT AND SO UNFORTUNATELY THIS FAMILY
COULD BE TORN APART AS A RESULT OF THE DEPARTMENT OF
HOMELAND SECURITY UNDER THE TRUMP ADMINISTRATION BEING
INCREDIBLY DRACONIAN WHEN IT COMES TO IMMIGRATION ISSUES.
BY THE WAY, MELANIA TRUMP CAME IN ON A TOURIST VISA AND
THEN WORKED.
THAT IS NOT LEGAL, SHE SHOULD BE DEPORTED.
THEY ARE DEPORTING THIS VETERAN'S WIFE,
THEY SHOULD DEPORT MELANIA TRUMP.
-------------------------------------------
Trump Policy Sends Markets Into Chaos - Duration: 5:24.DONALD TRUMP JUST ANNOUNCED ADDITIONAL TERRACE THAT HE WILL
USE FOR ALUMINUM AND STEEL.
THE WHOLE POINT IS TO CREATE TARIFFS THAT ARE SO
EXPENSIVE THAT THERE WILL BE MANUFACTURERS WHO PRODUCE
ALUMINUM AND STILL HERE IN THE UNITED STATES AS OPPOSED TO
IMPORTING IT FROM OTHER COUNTRIES.
THE TARIFF WILL BASICALLY BE 25% FOR STEEL, 10% FOR ALUMINUM AND
AS SOON AS HE ANNOUNCED THAT, THE STOCK MARKET DID EXPERIENCE
A LITTLE BIT OF A DOWNGRADE SEVERANCE TENSE, THE DOW DROPPED
500 POINTS.
THE DOW INDUSTRIAL AVERAGE TREATED 488 POINTS LOWER AFTER
RISING MORE THAN 100 POINTS EARLIER IN THE DAY AND ALSO THE
S&P 500 DECLINED 1.6% ERASING ITS YEAR-TO-DATE GAMES SO THE
STOCK MARKET IMMEDIATELY RESPONDED AND REACTED TO IT
NOW FOR THOSE WHO MIGHT THINK THAT CHINA IS GOING TO BE
HIT THE HARDEST BY THESE TARIFFS, THAT IS NOT THE CASE.
WHEN IT COMES TO STEEL, FOR INSTANCE, WE ARE ACTUALLY
GOING TO PROBABLY ANGER SOME OF OUR BIGGEST ALLIES, CANADA,
PURCELL, SOUTH KOREA, MEXICO WAS ON THAT LIST ALTHOUGH I DO
NOT KNOW IF MEXICO IS REALLY OUR BIGGEST ALLY AT THIS POINT.
THROUGH NO FAULT OF THEIR OWN.
RIGHT.
THIS IS ANOTHER COMPLICATED ISSUE.
THERE IS DIFFERENT WAYS TO PROTECT OUR INDUSTRIES AND A LOT
OF THE OTHER COUNTRIES DO THINGS THAT ARE UNFAIR AND SO WHETHER
IT IS CHINA MANIPULATING THEIR CURRENCY, OTHER GOVERNMENT
PROP PROPPING UP THEIR COMPANIES IN A WAY THAT CREATES SO
MUCH, IT IS NOT THAT IT CREATES COMPETITION THAT IS NATURAL.
IT CREATES UNNATURAL COMPETITION AND DRIVES PRICES DOWN
UNTIL IT BANKS OR BANKRUPTCY OR COMPANIES AND THEN THEY
DRIVE THE PRICES UP SO YOU CAN'T TAKE SMART ACTION ON IT
ALTHOUGH IT IS NOT EASY, THESE ARE NUANCED ISSUES.
SO WHAT DOES TRUMP DO INSTEAD?
NO NUANCE, TARIFFS.
AND WHEN YOU DO TERRACE IT ALSO DRIVES PRICES APPEAR IN AMERICA
SO IT MIGHT HAVE SOME POSITIVE RAMIFICATIONS FOR PEOPLE
WHO WORK IN THE STEEL INDUSTRY ALTHOUGH I AM NOT POSITIVE
ABOUT THAT EITHER.
THERE'S A LOT OF NUANCE HERE BUT IT IS GOING TO HAVE SOME
NEGATIVE REVOCATIONS FOR ALL THE OTHER INDUSTRIES WHICH USE STEEL
AND ALUMINUM, NOW ALL THEIR COSTS HAVE GONE UP WHICH
THEY WILL NOW PASS ON TO US.
FOR INSTANCE, THE CAR INDUSTRY, AUTOMOBILE INDUSTRY,
FORD MOTOR COMPANY NOTICE THAT IT'S STOCK PRICES DID
CONSIDERABLY AFTER THIS ANNOUNCEMENT AND IT IS
BECAUSE THEY IMPORT STEEL FROM OTHER COUNTRIES AND WHAT DO
YOU THINK THEY'RE GOING TO DO?
DO YOU THINK THEY ARE GOING TO ABSORB THOSE COST?
NO, THEY ARE GOING TO PASS IT DOWN TO YOU.
IT IS AN INCREDIBLY NUANCED ISSUE AND THERE IS THE
UPSIDE OF POSSIBLY PUSHING FOR THE MANUFACTURING OF PRODUCTS
HERE IN THE UNITED STATES RATHER THAN IMPORTING IT BUT THERE ARE
ALSO PEOPLE WHO MIGHT LOSE THEIR JOBS BECAUSE OF THIS, RIGHT?

Cinema Chennai Ep 1 | Slums with Velaikaaran | Video Essay with Tamil Subtitles - Duration: 7:51.Hi, I'm Kishor, and I'm Preetika from Hashtag Urbanism,
and welcome to Cinema Chennai, a collaboration series between Moving Images and Hashtag Urbanism.
a collaboration series between Moving Images and Hashtag Urbanism.
The series is going to show how Chennai, as a city, has been used as muse and a stage
in Tamizh films, as a mise en scene.
Mise en scene is a French word that literally means placing on stage.
But in cinema, mise en scene is everything that is captured by the camera.
It's the set and how it is lit, how everything is framed, how the actors look and what they
are wearing.
It is the overall look and feel of the sets that helps tell a story.
The mise en scene of a film is the responsibility of the production design team.
Like these fruit cartons, which are used instead of acoustic foam to sound-proof the radio station.
The production designer in this case clearly did research on what materials a man from
a slum would have access to, and built a set using that.
This series is going to explore how Chennai, and its urbanism itself becomes
the mise en scene where certain poignant scenes play out in films.
In this first episode of the series, we will analyse the slums or informal settlements
in Chennai and how it is pictured.
We will use Velaikaaran and a few other films as our case study and explore the various
urban morphology of the informal settlements, it's symbolism, and how the production design
team in a film build this world to bring the director's vision to life.
In this video, I will be talking about Chennai from a Urbanist's point of view, and I will
be talking about Chennai from a film analyst's point of view.
On a macro level, informal settlements are formed in and around the unclaimed residual
spaces in the heart of the city, in the grey areas along the river banks, sea side, market
areas, and railway lines.
These settlements are part of the city and depend on the city for their survival.
In films, an informal settlement is always shown juxtaposed against the city, symbolizing
the economic divide between the slum dwellers and the rest of the city.
Just showing where a protagonist comes from establishes his character and motivation.
It could be to rule the place he is from, it could be to obtain the materialistic things
the city has to offer, it could be do better than the rest and get out of the slum, or
even to better the lives of the entire slum.
The juxtaposition helps establish the main lead.
Within, the macro level of an informal settlement, the nodes and intersections serve as anchor
points that house important social spaces in the area like temples, mosques, churches,
and public spaces.
These become landmarks within the settlement.
The public spaces are places where people gather naturally and provides the spectatorship
the directors needs to set an opening song, fight scenes, or even as a place to rally
the people for the common good.
In Velaikaran, the main lead's house and the radio station is even conveniently located
at the central node to show its importance and acts as a view point over the entire informal
settlement.
The narrow street pattern of the informal settlement shows how it is pedestrian centric,
which is later used to highlight the dominance of the antagonist when his car enters the
streets.
Furthermore, informal settlements are built organically rather than being planned by architects,
planners or urban designers, and hence have an almost maze-like quality such that an outsider
cannot find his way out.
This maze-like quality of the slums is also exploited in many run and chase scenes in
movies where the protagonist or antagonist manages to escape because of his knowledge
of the small alleys and hidden pathways in the slums.
Moving on to the street level, the houses within the informal settlement each have their
own identity.
As these houses are largely built by the people themselves, it reflects their occupation and
the kind of raw materials they have access to.
This brings us back to the juxtaposition with the city, where the tall rise apartments all
look the same and have no individual identity.
The tea shops, open areas, retaining walls that decorate street corners are urban spaces
whose poignance in Tamil cinema is well known.
A lot of comedy scenes, important plot points, discussion between the protagonist and his
friends, happen in these areas whose accessibility and informality invites social conversations.
Depending on the time of the day, and the accessibility of the social spaces, it could
serve the plot.
Within informal settlements, there are no defined boundaries between the street and
the house.
This spillover of activities and blurred boundaries, indicate the lack of space and a tight-knit
community that cannot afford to prioritize privacy.
In the context of the film, this serves as the perfect stage for the characters to discuss
their economic plight, as if to show it is public knowledge, have confrontations, or
even have the street as an extension of household events and activities, with the whole community
participating.
Slums are an unique urban form, that is entirely built by a community and functions as part of it.
The slums in and around Chennai are part of her identity and the production design team
has taken inspiration from various such settlements in building the set for Velaikaran that feels
quintessentially Chennai.
The meticulous detailing and research that has gone into building Kooliekaara Kuppam,
makes the place feel alive and lived in.
This video is both a tribute to Chennai and her slums and also the production designers
who have brought them to celluloid in such beautiful forms throughout the years.
The series aims to start a larger dialogue on cinema and the city, Chennai.
We wish to map Chennai through Tamizh cinema and highlight other similar typologies over
the upcoming episodes.
As cinema is a part of the Chennai-vaasi's lives, so are they a part of Tamizh cinema.
Until next time, this is Cinema Chennai signing off saying...

Another Arsenal blow Arsene Wenger reveals the one way he will leave ● News Now ● #AFC - Duration: 2:32.Manchester City condemned Arsenal to their seventh defeat in 2018 and third defeat in
just this week alone to replicate Sunday's Carabao Cup scoreline.
City produced a scintillating display on a wintery evening at the Emirates with three
sublime goals from Bernado Silva, David Silva, and Leroy Sane
handing them their third win over Arsenal this season.
The defeat now mounts near unbearable pressure on the shoulders of manager Arsene Wenger
who has told fans he will be the person to make the decision as to when he will leave
the club.
"All the decisions will always be mine"
The contrast in the touchline behavior from both sets of managers was more than telling,
as whilst Pep Guardiola continued to bark out orders to his side at 3-0 up, Wenger sat
on the bench looking abject and broken.
At this moment in time, we look closer than ever to the end of the French manager's
21-year reign in charge of the Gunners, however, the man himself feels very different.
When asked about whether he may decide to leave Arsenal in the near future, Wenger answered:
"I have been here for 21 years and I always respected my contract so I am quite amazed
that you ask me the question.
In life, I look at what people do, not at what they say.
What I did in my life was that, so I am quite amazed that you asked me the question.
If you want me not to be here, that's a different problem.
You ask me my commitment, and my attitude is dictated by what I did in my life,
not by what I say in a press conference."
When asked about who will decide when he will leave Arsenal, Wenger responded:
"All the decisions are technically will always be mine and that will remain because
it's part of my job."

use breast piece only
marinate the chicken with some ginger-garlic paste
some garam masala powder
red chilli powder
some beaten curd
some salt
mix it well
let it rest for at least 1 hr
It is best if you can marinate the chicken overnight
Cover it and put it in the fridge to marinate
sliced onion
sugar
salt
Khuskhus, or poppy seed paste
ginger-garlic paste
sliced tomatoes
garam masala powder
black pepper powder
coriander powder or dhaniya powder
red chilli powder
cumin or jeera powder
turmeric or haldi powder
add some water into the spices
Make a thick paste out of it
Keep it aside.
We'll also need some oil for cooking
heat the oil in a pan
Add in the sliced onion
Fry them briefly
Add in the sugar
cook till it becomes
dark brown in color
Add in the tomato
Followed by the chicken
Cook the chicken
stirring continuously
Add in some ginger-garlic paste
add in the masala paste
Cover it
check on it after a few minutes
Raise the heat
Season with salt
Cover it one more time
let's see how it's doing
That looks lovely!
add in the khus khus paste
The chicken is cooked perfectly,
but we put the heat on absolute low and cover it and
Give it two more minutes
Checking after two minutes
Sprinkle some garam masala on top
Give it a mix
Now for a cool cheat tip :
if you are not cooking in mustard oil
like me
Then at the end
you could just add in a tablespoon of mustard oil
into the pan
and give it a mix
Let it simmer for a minute or two
and that's ready to be served

IF COMPANIES NEED TO CUT COSTS IN ORDER TO OBSERVE SOME OF
THOSE TARIFFS, THEN THEY ARE GOING TO DO IT.
THEY ARE GOING TO LOOK AFTER THEIR BOTTOM LINE SO WE
WILL SEE HOW THIS PLAYS OUT.
IT WAS JUST ANNOUNCED, AND BY THE WAY, HE HAS NOT GIVEN

THE DETAILS ARE EXPECTED TO BE ANNOUNCED NEXT WEEK.
SO WHEN THEY ASKED HIM WHY DO YOU DO IT, MISTER NUANCE,

WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?
I THINK WHAT IT MEANS IS, LOOK, THERE HAVE BEEN PEOPLE IN

SO THE PEOPLE WHO SUPPORT THESE HIGH TERRACE DID SOMETHING
INCREDIBLY CLEVER.

THIS A LITTLE MORE BEFORE YOU DO IT AND FINALLY HE BECAME
IMPATIENT AND JUST DECIDED TODAY, I AM DOING THIS.
TO BE FAIR TO TRUMP, HE PROMISED THAT DURING THE CAMPAIGN.

THIS PROCEDURE IS KNOWN AS THE PAROLE IN PLACE THAT WOULD
ALLOW FOR HER TO REMAIN IN THE UNITED STATES AND APPLY FOR

THEY ARE NOT ALLOWING IT AND SO UNFORTUNATELY THIS FAMILY
COULD BE TORN APART AS A RESULT OF THE DEPARTMENT OF

INCREDIBLY DRACONIAN WHEN IT COMES TO IMMIGRATION ISSUES.
BY THE WAY, MELANIA TRUMP CAME IN ON A TOURIST VISA AND

Ho'oponopono Hawaiian Prayer for Healing || Zero Limits Book - Duration: 6:34.Hey, what's up, Sarah Johnson here and in today's video
I am going to introduce you to an ancient healing
practice called Ho'oponopono
Prayer for Healing. I
was first introduced to this prayer for healing many years ago by a very close and dear friend of mine.
But it wasn't until I read Dr. Joe Vitale's
book called, "Zero Limits," where I got a deeper understanding of the technique, and
and a more profound appreciation
for its use. In the book, Dr. Joe Vitale
talked about a
doctor, a Therapist in Hawaii who
claimed that he
treated a whole ward of
patients, criminally insane patients in a hospital,
without first seeing them in person.
Or,
rendering during some type of treatment for them. So initially when I heard about this story, I was like "hmmm,
not so sure about this one."
But,
how was it possible that a
doctor could physically heal a patient without seeing him? Or,
administering some type of treatment? I just wasn't believing it. And, I believe that
Dr. Joe Vitale, the author of the book also had some degree of doubt as well. But it wasn't until he met with Dr.
Hew Len, and learn more about the application of the Ho'oponopono technique, where his skepticism
dissipated. So,
Dr. Hey Len shared that he had worked at this hospital for some time, and one of the things he realized is that, there was a
high rate of turnover amongst the employees.
Not just the doctors, we had the doctors
leaving, the nurses and all of the different employees of the hospital were leaving simply because
they felt they were under enormous
stress working with these patients.
But, Dr. Hew Len decided, "Well,
you know, I'm not gonna run away from this problem, because I know that every problem also has a
correspondent solution. So, he started to
examine
every patient's hospital record. And , one by one he
started to heal each patient by first looking within, and healing himself.
So, the Ho'oponopono technique comprised of four
key mantras. The first one... it has to do with repentance,
"I am sorry." And you utter those words,
"I am sorry." And basically you're saying I am sorry
for looking at you in a negative light.
I am sorry for judging you. I am sorry for holding on to resentment.
I am sorry for not seeing that light, or the God
qualities of you,
the Godlike qualities. The second part is, "Please forgive me.
Please forgive me for all of those negative views that I was holding
about you. "Thank you," is the next one. So there is a part of gratitude,
thank you. And gratitude is so
powerful because it helps to
transmute certain low vibrational energy, it helps you to heal. And then the last part is "I
love you." And we all know that love, they say God is love and love is the highest
frequency
that exists within the universe. At least that's what I've heard. Love is the highest frequency that exists and
love heals everything. So, the four parts are, "I am sorry please, forgive me
thank you, I love. And, Dr.
Hew Len just started looking at the patient's chart and would repeat those phrases over, and over, and over. And it
triggered a healing within himself,
thereby triggering a healing in each of the patients. So, I
have used this technique, and I am a huge fan of it. Although it may seem very simple
it's a very transformational
technique. And you don't have to be a doctor to use this. You can use this in your life.
And what I would suggest, or what I have done is, make ...grab a journal and write down
some of the negative feelings or negative events or quote/unquote "Negative" events that have happened in your life . And,
anything that brings up or elicit a negative feeling within you when you think about it. And, write them all down.
It could be situations,
it could be people, whatever the case may be. And, for each item that you have written down or each
situation, you want to repeat those four mantras. "I am sorry, please forgive me,
thank you, I love you. I am sorry, please forgive me, thank you, I
love you. For each of them. And you will be amazed how those four
mantras
offers
healing, and it shifts that negativity that we have buried within us, and
now we are able to view the situation
from a place of love. Because, at the end of the day, what we don't realize is that,
everything that has happened to us has happened for a reason.
Everything ...nothing comes without a lesson, or
every situation shows up in our lives to teach us a lesson. And we learn from those situation and
move on to the next. So, I hope you appreciate this video. If so,
please give me a thumbs up. Leave a comment below, and share it with one person
that perhaps this video can add some value to their lives. And, I will see you on the next video.
Thank you so much!!

How To Make a Smoothie for a Healthy Gut - Duration: 3:05.- When it comes to healthy digestion,
one of the common questions come up
is is there an easier way to get food into the body
where it's maybe already predigested or broken down
so the body would process it easier
especially if you have difficulty
with the health of your gut
and that leads to a lot of people
having a lot of shakes and a lot of smoothies.
Now, I'll be honest, I love shakes, I love smoothies.
I have one a day.
I love throwing in a quality protein powder.
I love throwing in quality greens.
I love adding some healthy fats like avocado
or cacao butter or coconut butter
but I will encourage you to exercise caution
when it comes to smoothies because it really is not the way
your body was designed to eat.
Your digestive system assumes that you would be eating
whole foods and I want you to think about what happens
when you actually have a smoothie.
You take all these whole foods, you blend 'em,
you churn 'em up, you drink them down
and sometimes that gets into the digestive system
within a matter of minutes
when frankly, if you were to eat all of those foods slowly
with a fork, chew them all, it would take you much longer
than it would to wolf down that smoothie
and the truth is when you don't give your body
the ability to do that,
it actually can interfere with your digestion.
So there's a couple tips that we have
when we talk about making smoothies.
The first thing is you don't have to
churn it up all the way.
Churn up those whole foods really as little as possible
so that way you're getting a great smoothie
but still giving your body a chance to chew that drink.
The expression is that you should chew the drink
but then you wanna chew it so much
that then you're gonna drink your food.
When you chew, that stimulates the digestive enzymes
so that your body breaks down the food.
A lot of people are out taking a digestive enzyme.
You know what, if you chew your food better,
your enzymatic process in your body is gonna be better
and smarter and more efficient
at breaking down the food that you're consuming
and that's what you want.
You want your body to do the work.
You don't want a supplement
to always have to do the work for you.
So the first thing is you don't have to chew it up,
churn it up all the way.
I would say put in whole foods there
as much as you possibly can
and consume them over the same period of time
that it would take you to eat them.
You don't have to drink a smoothie within five minutes.
Really, I would consume it more
over about a 20 minute period
and something else that you can also
really, really aim to do is make that smoothie
as thick as you possibly can.
It's interesting, the last few years,
people now talk about the smoothie bowl
and I really think that if you're going to have
blended whole foods, eating it out of a bowl with a spoon
as well as better for your digestion
as opposed to completely pulverizing everything,
letting it getting into the GI too quickly
bypassing your body's natural digestive processes.
So I'm not saying never have a smoothie
but there's definitely some better ways to have a smoothie
and I would also say try to do this
maybe once a day at most.
Ideally, our bodies are designed to be eating whole foods.
Where we're really getting into problems
is when people switch over to a plan
and now all of a sudden they're having two smoothies a day
or three smoothies a day.
Remember, make this as a great complement
to your Maximized Living Nutrition Plan
rooted in whole foods first.
