The National for Friday May 11, 2018 — Canadian ISIS Fighter, Syria, NAFTA - Duration: 47:25.>> Andrew: ON THIS FRIDAY NIGHT
A CANADIAN WHO LEFT THIS
COUNTRY TO FIGHT FOR ISIS IN
SYRIA APPEARS TO MAKE A
SHOCKING ADMISSION.
TELLING A POPULAR PODCAST WHILE
THERE HE CARRIED OUT AN
EXECUTION-STYLE KILLING.
TODAY WE TRACKED HIM DOWN IN
TORONTO, CONFRONTED HIM ABOUT
IT AND HEARD A VERY DIFFERENT
STORY.
ALSO TONIGHT, MERGING MAN AND
MACHINE?
HOW WORKERS ON THIS AUTO
ASSEMBLY LINE ARE GETTING A
BIONIC UPGRADE.
ALL THAT COMING YOUR WAY.
THIS IS "THE NATIONAL."
NEW AND STUNNING DETAILS HAVE
EMERGED ABOUT A CANADIAN WHO
WENT TO SYRIA TO JOIN ISIS IN
ITS BLOOD THIRSTY VERSION OF
JIHAD, ALSO A YOUNG MAN BACK
HERE LIVING IN CANADA AND WHO
HAS SPOKEN TO US BEFORE.
>> Interview: THERE WAS ALSO
BEHEADINGS TOO.
>> Andrew: HIS NICKNAME WITH
ISIS WAS --
HE REVEALED TO US HOW HE TRAVEL
TODAY SYRIA AND JOINED THE ISIS
MORALITY POLICE.
BACK THEN HE SAID HE WITNESSED
HORRIFIC ACTS BUT NEVER KILLED
ANYONE HIMSELF.
>> CANADIANS SHOULDN'T SEE ME
AS A THREAT, I GREW UP WITH
THEM AND CANADA HAS A HUGE ROLE
IN WHAT I AM NOW TOO.
>> Andrew: NOW WE ARE HEARING A
DIFFERENT STORY, ON THE PODCAST
CALIPHATE HE SAID THIS:
>> THIS GUY WAS A DRUG DEALER.
I HAD TO STAB HIM IN THE HEART.
HUZAIFA DESCRIBED EXECUTING
PEOPLE WHO RESISTED ISIS.
JOHN, YOU ORIGINALLY SPOKE WITH
ABU HUZAIFA WITH CBC AND YOU
TRACKED HIM DOWN ABOUT THIS
APPARENT CONFESSION.
HOW DID HE REACT?
>> Interview: WE PUT IT TO HIM
SEVERAL TIMES, ANDREW, HOW
COULD YOU SAY THESE THINGS IF
YOU DIDN'T ACTUALLY DO THEM.
HE SAID HE DIDN'T DENY THEM BUT
INSISTANT HE DIDN'T DO THOSE
THINGS.
HE SAID HE WAS INTERVIEWED FOR
THE PODCAST IN 2016, 2-3 WEEKS
AFTER HE RETURNED FROM PAKISTAN
AFTER FLEEING SYRIA AND FLEEING
ISIS.
HE SAID AT THE TIME HE WAS
SUFFERING FROM PTSD, HAVING
FLASHBACKS FROM THE HORRORS HE
WITNESSED AND USING HARD DRUGS
TO ESSENTIALLY TRYING TO
SELF-MEDICATE TO GET THESE
DEMONS OUT OF HIS MIND.
WHEN I PRESSED HIM I SAID THEY
ARE GRAPHIC DETAILS YOU
DESCRIBED, HOW COULD YOU
DESCRIBE IN SUCH DETAIL YET YOU
DIDN'T DO IT.
HE TOLD ME, I WAS DESCRIBING
WHAT I SAW.
I WAS CLOSE ENOUGH, ANDREW, TO
THINK IT WAS ACTUALLY ME.
>> Andrew: OKAY, SO WHAT IS THE
SITUATION EXACTLY?
HE IS IN TORONTO?
>> Interview: YEP, WE WALK INTO
THIS TORONTO SUBURBAN
RESTAURANT, HE LOOKED AND
SMILED.
HE DOESN'T LOOK LIKE AN ISIS
SOLDIER, HE IS A 23-YEAR-OLD
MAN STUDYING AT UNIVERSITY,
CLEAN-CUT, WELL SPOKEN, VERY
SOFT SPOKEN AND AT ONE POINT
BROKE DOWN IN TEARS TODAY WHEN
DISCUSSING THIS.
IT'S CLEAR HE IS HOPING TO MOVE
ON WITH HIS LIFE BUT IT'S NOT
CLEAR IF THAT WILL HAPPEN
ESPECIALLY AFTER THE LATEST
REVELATIONS.
>> Andrew: JOHN, HE GAVE YOU AN
EXPLANATION, BUT GIVEN WHAT HE
HAS APPARENTLY CONFESSED TO,
HAS HE BEEN APPROACHED BY
POLICE?
>> Interview: HE HAS BEEN
INTERVIEWED SEVERAL TIMES BY
POLICE.
SHORTLY AFTER THE INTERVIEW IN
2017, HE SAID HE WAS CONTACTED
BY THE RCMP TO SEE WHERE HE WAS
BUT AFTER THAT, NOTHING.
TODAY AFTER THE PODCASTS
SURFACED AND AIRED AND RAISED
IN THE HOUSE OF COMMONS, HE GOT
A CALL FROM CSIS AND THEY PLAN
TO PAY HIM A VISIT NEXT WEEK.
>> Andrew: THANK YOU.
AT THIS POINT YOU MAY BE ASKING
WHY AREN'T WE REVEALING WHO
THIS MAN IS GIVEN THE SEVERE
NATURE OF WHAT WE JUST HEARD.
LET'S START FROM THE BEGINNING.
ABU HUZAIFA TRUSTED THE CBC,
THAT'S SOMETHING WE TAKE
SERIOUSLY, BUT TRUST IS A
TWO-WAY STREET AND THE PODCAST
CONTRADICTS WHAT HE TOLD US, WE
ARE NOW TRYING TO DETERMINE THE
TRUTH AND MAY REVISIT HIM.
AS THE STORY EVOLVES WE WILL
KEEP YOU UPDATED BUT THE HARD
FACTS ON HUZAIFA MAY BE HARD TO
COME BY BUT DIDN'T SEEM TO STOP
THE FALLOUT IN OTTAWA.
>> Reporter: THIS BROUGHT UP
POINTED QUESTIONS IN THE HOUSE
OF COMMONS WITH CONSERVATIVES
ASKING HOW COULD A MAN WHO
BRAGS ABOUT COMMITTING WAR
CRIMES WITH ISIS BE WALKING
FREE IN ONTARIO.
>> HE SAID HE EXECUTED
INDIVIDUALS BY SHOOTING THEM IN
THE BACK OF THE HEAD.
HE SAID THEY DESERVED IT AND HE
SAID I KNOW I WON'T BE HELD
ACCOUNTABLE.
HE SAID THAT AT LEAST TWICE.
>> WHAT I CAN SAY, MR. SPEAKER,
IS THAT CSIS, THE RCMP, AND ALL
THE RELATED SECURITY AND POLICE
AGENCIES OF THIS COUNTRY ARE
DOING THEIR JOB AND TAKING ALL
OF THE STEPS NECESSARY TO
ENSURE THAT JUSTICE IS ENFORCED.
>> THAT'S NOT GOOD ENOUGH.
THIS GUY IS APPARENTLY IN
TORONTO.
CANADIANS DESERVE MORE ANSWERS
FROM THIS GOVERNMENT.
WHY AREN'T THEY DOING SOMETHING
ABOUT THIS?
>> ONE FORMER CSIS ANALYST SAID
RETURNEES LIKE ABU HUZAIFA ARE
EXAMPLES TO OTHER JIHADIS.
>> AMAZING EXPLOITS BUT THEY
ACT AS INSPIRATION FOR OTHERS,
SO IF NOTHING HAPPENS TO THIS
INDIVIDUAL, AND HE DESERVES HIS
DAY IN COURT, DON'T GET ME
WRONG, IT SHOULD BE A FAIR AND
TRANSPARENT PROCESS BUT IF
NOTHING HAPPENS THE MESSAGE IS
IT'S OKAY TO BE IN A TERRORIST
GROUP AND TRAVEL ABROAD AND
KILL SOMEBODY, WHICH ARE
OFFENSES AND NOTHING WILL
HAPPEN TO YOU.
>> Reporter: HE HAS ALSO
CONFESSED TO SEVERAL OTHER
CRIMES, JUST TRAVELING TO SYRIA
TO JOIN ISIS IS A CRIME THAT
CARRIES A POTENTIAL 10-YEAR
SENTENCE THOUGH TO DATE NO ONE
HAS BEEN CONVICTED OF THAT.
>> Andrew: ON THAT NOTE, THERE
IS ANOTHER QUESTION HERE.
IF WE LOOK AT THE BIG PICTURE.
HOW MANY OTHERS LIKE ABU
HUZAIFA MIGHT BE OUT THERE?
ACCORDING TO A 2017 GOVERNMENT
REPORT THERE WERE ABOUT 190
SO-CALLED EXTREMIST TRAVELERS
WITH LINKS TO CANADA AND THE
GOVERNMENT IS AWARE OF ABOUT 60
THAT HAVE RETURNED TO CANADA.
SYRIA IS ALSO IN THE MIDDLE OF
ESCALATING HOSTILITY BETWEEN
ISRAEL AND IRAN.
TODAY BOTH THE U.S. PRESIDENT
AND BRITISH PRIME MINISTER
CALLED IRAN'S ATTACKS
DESTABILIZING BUT AVOIDED
CRITICIZING COUNTER ATTACKS ON
IRANIAN POSITIONS IN SYRIA
WHICH IS STILL IN A BRUTAL
CIVIL WAR OF ITS OWN.
MARGARET EVANS WENT TO ONE
VILLAGE TORN APART BY THE
FIGHTING.
>> Reporter: STREETS ON THE WAY
TO YALDA, A TOWN WEDGED IN WITH
A HANDFUL OF OTHERS ON THE
OUTSKIRTS OF DAMASCUS.
THIS IS DAY ONE OF WHAT BASHIR
AL ASSAD -- SOME 10,000 REBEL
FIGHTERS TOOK UP THE OFFER THE
PASSAGE OFF YALDA, BUSSES IN A
REBEL HELD AREA IN THE NORTH.
LOCAL OFFICIALS EAGER TO MARK
THE MOMENT HAVE A FEW FALSE
STARTS BEFORE FINDING THEIR WAY
TO THE ROOFTOP OF THE MUNICIPAL
BUILDING.
IT IS A SMALL SCENE BUT IT'S
ONE THE SYRIAN GOVERNMENT VERY
MUCH WANTED US TO SEE.
THEY WANT TO DELIVER THE
MESSAGE TO US AND SO TO THE
OUTSIDE WORLD THEY ARE WINNING
THIS WAR.
MOHAMED SAYS IT'S BEEN FIVE
YEARS SINCE HE SET FOOT IN HIS
OFFICE.
I ASK HIM ABOUT RECONCILIATION
BETWEEN PRO-AND ANTI REGIME
FIGHTERS.
>> WHY NOT?
>> THE FIGHTING ISN'T OVER YET.
BUT THE OUTSIDE WORLD IS
PREOCCUPIED WITH THE TENSIONS
BETWEEN ISRAEL AND IRAN.
ISRAEL ACCUSING IRAN OF USING
SYRIA AS A LAUNCH PAD AGAINST
THE JEWISH STATE.
TODAY THE ISRAELI FOREIGN
MINISTER LIEBERMAN WARNED THE
SYRIAN PRESIDENT ABOUT THE
COMPANY HE IS KEEPING.
>> I HAVE A MESSAGE FOR ASSAD,
HE IS SAYING, GET RID OF THE
IRANIANS, THEY'RE NOT HELPING
YOU.
IT'S PROMPTED AN ANGRY REACTION
HERE IN DAMASCUS.
>> WE HAVE THE FREEDOM TO
CHOOSE OUR ALLIES, OUR FRIENDS
AND LOOK FORWARD TO RECAPTURE,
TO GET OUR LAND AGAIN.
>> ISRAEL CAPTURED THE GOLAN
HEIGHTS IN 1997.
IN YALDA PEOPLE HAVE MORE
IMMEDIATE CONCERNS, FINDING
THEIR WAY BACK TO HOMES LOST
AND LIVES PUT ON HOLD, IF
THAT'S POSSIBLE.
NOTHING IS NORMAL ANY MORE.
THE THUD OF AIRSTRIKES GOES
UNNOTICED.
AND KIDS PLAY WITH AN OLD LATHE
REBELS LEFT BEHIND USED TO MAKE
MORTARS.
MARGARET EVANS, CBC NEWS, YALDA.
>> Andrew: HERE IS A QUICK LOOK
AT WHAT'S AHEAD ON "THE
NATIONAL."
A CBC NEWS INVESTIGATION RAISES
SERIOUS QUESTIONS ABOUT THE WAY
ONE COMPANY IS SELLING ITS
CANNABIS EXTRACT.
ALSO RESIDENTS OF LAC-MEGANTIC
ARE HAPPY TRAIN TRACKS WILL
NEVER RETURN TO THEIR TOWN, BUT
IS REROUTING THE TRACKS JUST
REROUTING THE PROBLEM?
BUT FIRST, THREE PEOPLE FROM
CANADA ARE SPEAKING OUT AFTER
ONE DAY LEAVING AN AirBnB AND
THEN BEING CONFRONTED BY POLICE.
NOW HOW SUCH SEEMINGLY TRIVIAL
ACT LEAD TO SUCH A SERIOUS
ENCOUNTER HAS A LOT OF PEOPLE
IN THE U.S. TALKING ABOUT
RACIAL INJUSTICE, BECAUSE THE
NEIGHBOURS WHO CALLED THE COPS
WERE WHITE AND THE VISITORS
FROM CANADA ARE NOT.
THE CBC'S STEVEN D'SOUZA SPOKE
WITH THEM TODAY.
>> I THOUGHT WE WERE GOING TO
BE CHARGED, THAT WAS MY FIRST
REACTION.
>> IT'S BEEN ALMOST TWO WEEKS
BUT THE INCIDENT INVOLVING
KELLS FYFFE MARSHALL.
PART OF THREE FRIENDS, TWO
BLACK AND ONE WHITE.
THEY WERE LEAVING AN AirBnB IN
RIALTO CALIFORNIA WHEN A
NEIGHBOUR THINKING THEY WERE
BURGLARS CALLED THE POLICE.
>> LIKE BREAKING INTO THE HOUSE
AND TAKING THINGS.
>> NO, WE ARE TAKING OUR
SUITCASES OUT OF THE HOUSE.
>> THEIR VIDEO WENT VIRAL IN
PART BECAUSE ONE IS THE
GRANDDAUGHTER OF MUSIC LEGEND
BOB MARLEY.
>> HANDS UP, HANDS UP AND
EVERYBODY'S HANDS STARTED TO GO
UP.
>> SHE SAYS THAT FACT HELPED
MAKE SURE THE SITUATION ENDED
PEACEFULLY BUT SAID NOT
EVERYONE IN AMERICA IS SO LUCKY
SO THEY ARE SPEAKING OUT ABOUT
WHAT HAPPENED AND THREATENING
THE RIALTO POLICE WITH LEGAL
ACTION.
>> WE ARE CONSCIOUS IN THESE
MOMENTS WE HAVE A PLATFORM AND
WE ARE BRAVE ENOUGH TO USE IT
ON BEHALF OF THOSE WHO DIDN'T
LIVE TO TELL THEIR STORY.
>> Reporter: BUT WHAT DONISHA
PRENDERGAST SAY WAS TRAUMATIC,
OTHERS SAY WAS HELPFUL, USING
BODY CAMERA TO DESCRIBE A
JOVIAL ENCOUNTER.
>> THEY HANDLED THE CALL FOR
SERVICE WITH DIGNITY, RESPECT
AND UTMOST PROFESSIONALISM.
>> FYFFE MARSHALL SAID IT WAS
HER WAY OF DEALING WITH THE
INDIGNITY OF BEING PULLED OVER.
>> I LAUGHED.
>> THEY SAY THEIR MESSAGE IS A
SERIOUS ONE THAT RACIAL
PROFILING MUST STOP AND THOSE
WHO CALL POLICE WHEN BLACK
PEOPLE IN THESE SITUATIONS NEED
TO BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE.
>> IT'S UNFAIR FOR ONE PERSON
TO HAVE THAT AMOUNT OF POWER
OVER SOMEONE ELSE'S LIFE AND
DESTINY.
>> PRENDERGAST SAID EVERYBODY
NEEDS TO STEP UP.
>> EVERYBODY LOVES MY
GRANDFATHER'S MUSIC BUT WHEN IT
COMES TO ACTUALLY FIGHT AND
CALL TO ACTION, PEOPLE DON'T
WANT TO STAND UP.
>> THEY SAY BEING SURROUNDED BY
POLICE JUST FOR DOING EVERYDAY
THINGS SHOULDN'T BE THE PRICE
OF BEING BLACK IN AMERICA.
STEVEN D'SOUZA, CBC NEWS, NEW
YORK.
>> Andrew: RACIAL PROFILING HAS
BEEN IN THE NEWS A LOT LATELY.
>> I'M NOT TAKING YOUR PICTURE.
THIS IS FACEBOOK LIVE.
>> AN INCIDENT AT YALE, A
WHITE PERSON CALLED CAMPUS
POLICE AFTER SHE FOUND A BLACK
WOMAN ASLEEP IN A COMMON AREA,
SHE WAS A GRAD STUDENT BUT
OFFICERS DEMANDED TO SEE HER
I.D. EVEN AFTER SHE UNLOCKED
HER OWN DORM ROOM TO PROVE SHE
WASN'T SOMEONE WHO HAD BROKEN
IN.
AND VIDEO SURFACED OF AN
OFFICER PRETTY AGGRESSIVELY
ARRESTING A BLACK MAN IN NORTH
CAROLINA.
AN ARGUMENT BETWEEN THAT BLACK
MAN AND RESTAURANT EMPLOYEE.
THEN CAME POLICE AND THE TAKE
DOWN.
THE SUSPECT WAS DRESSED UP
BECAUSE HE HAD JUST BEEN AT A
SCHOOL PROM.
ALMOST TWO WEEKS AGO AT A
COLORADO UNIVERSITY, POLICE
QUESTIONED AND SEARCHED TWO
INDIGENOUS TEENAGERS, ANOTHER
PARENT CALL THE OFFICERS
COMPLAINING THEY WERE CREEPY
AND STOOD OUT BUT THEY WERE
JUST THERE FOR A TOUR,
CONSIDERING ENROLLING.
IN ALABAMA ABOUT A WEEK EARLIER
POLICE WERE RECORDED THROWING A
BLACK WOMAN TO THE FLOOR OF A
WAFFLE HOUSE, THEY THREW HER,
THREATENED TO BROKE HER ARM AND
IN THE SCUFFLE EXPOSED HER
BREAST.
THEY DEFENDED THEIR ACTIONS
SAYING THE OFFICERS WERE IN THE
RIGHT AND THE WOMAN WAS DRUNK
AND DISORDERLY.
AND ALL OF THIS COMES AFTER
LAST MONTH'S STARBUCKS INCIDENT
IN PHILADELPHIA WHEN POLICE
ARRESTED TWO BLACK MEN WHO HAD
BEEN SITTING AT A TABLE WITHOUT
MAKING A PURCHASE.
THEY ASKED TO USE THE BATHROOM
BUT WERE TOLD IT WAS FOR PAYING
CUSTOMERS ONLY.
THEY WERE EVENTUALLY RELEASED
WITHOUT CHARGE.
AND TODAY STARBUCKS ANNOUNCED
ALL ITS BATHROOMS WILL BE MADE
AVAILABLE TO ANYBODY WHETHER OR
NOT THEY BOUGHT ANYTHING.
IN THE WORLD OF ALTERNATIVE
MEDICINE SOMETHING CALLED
CANNABIDIOL OIL SEEMS TO BE THE
ELIXIR OF THE MOMENT.
A CANNABIS EXTRACT BEING TOUTED
AS MIRACLE TREATMENT FOR
EVERYTHING FROM ANXIETY TO
CANCER.
>> CBD HAS ANTI PROLIFERATIVE
EFFECTS, MEANING IT COULD STOP
A TUMOR FROM SPREADING.
HERB WRACKED UP MORE THAN THREE
AND A HALF MILLION VIEWS WHICH
IS QUITE A BIT BUT THE REAL
HEALTH BENEFITS OF CBD OIL ARE
STILL VERY MUCH AN OPEN
QUESTION AND THE LACK OF
SCIENCE HASN'T STOPPED MANY
FROM BUYING IN.
>> SUN KISSED ON AN ORGANIC
KENTUCKY FARM, CAREFULLY
EXTRACTED IN A LAB.
HEMPWORX.
>> THE HIGHEST QUALITY, PURE,
NATURAL, MOST EFFECTIVE CBD
THAT'S ON THE PLANET.
>> THE PROBLEM IS THAT'S NOT
THE ONLY THING HEMPWORX HAS TO
STAY ABOUT IT'S PRODUCT.
THE FINE PRINT MAY SAY IT'S NOT
INTENDED TO DIAGNOSE, TREAT OR
PREVENT DISEASE.
DAILY AMOUNTS TO TAKE FOR
CONDITIONS, SUCH AS EPILEPSY,
MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS,
SCHIZOPHRENIA AND GLAUCOMA.
THAT'S AT ODDS HOW THEY COULD
BE MARKETED.
HEALTH CANADA IS ESPECIALLY
CONCERNED ABOUT ADVERTISEMENTS
OF ANY KIND WHICH ARE FALSE,
MISLEADING OR DECEPTIVE AND
THOSE THAT ADVERTISE CANNABIS
WITH THERAPEUTIC CLAIMS.
HEMPWORX DIDN'T RESPOND TO OUR
REQUEST FOR COMMENT.
>> CANOPY GROWTH IS CANADA'S
LARGEST POT PRODUCER.
THEY SAY IT'S IMPORTANT TO
STICK TO THE FACTS.
>> ANY OF THE HEALTH CLAIMS
BEING MADE ARE OUTSIDE OF THE
RULES WE ARE PLAYING BY.
>> THIS HEMPWORX TRAINING
WEBINAR INSTRUCTS SALES PEOPLE
TO AVOID WORDS LIKE CURES,
PREVENTS, DIAGNOSE AND TREATS.
>> WHAT YOU CAN SAY, RESEARCH
SUGGESTS, STUDIES SHOW,
DIFFERENT USERS OF THESE
PRODUCTS ARE CLAIMING.
>> WE SHOWED THAT TO
PROFESSIONAL MEDICAL SKEPTIC
DR. JEN GUNTER.
>> IT SOUNDS THE SAME AND
THAT'S WHAT'S REALLY
CONCERNING, SO FOR SOMEBODY WHO
DOESN'T HAVE A MEDICAL
BACKGROUND IT SOUNDS LIKE
THERE'S GOOD STUDIES BUT IT'S
COMPLETELY DIFFERENT.
IT'S REALLY GLOSSING OVER THE
EDGES AND A LITTLE BIT, ALMOST
LIKE A SHELL GAME.
>> HOWEVER THEY PHRASE IT, ARE
CANNABIDIOL PRODUCERS BLOWING
SMOKE WITH THEIR HEALTH CLAIMS.
>> WE ALSO HAVE PRELIMINARY
EVIDENCE, I WANT TO STRESS THAT
WORD, PRELIMINARY THAT
CANNABIDIOL MIGHT BE USEFUL.
>> ROBERT LA PRAIRIE SAYS THOSE
PRELIMINARY STUDIES ARE TOO
SOON TO SAY FOR SURE.
>> I WOULD SAY THE JURY IS
STILL VERY MUCH OUT ON WHAT WE
HAVE GOOD EVIDENCE-BASED
MEDICINE FOR.
>> Andrew: WE HAVE KATY
NICHOLSON JOINING US NOW.
WHAT ABOUT THIS WHOLE EQUATION
CHANGES WHEN POT BECOMES LEGAL
IN THIS COUNTRY?
>> Reporter: YOU WILL BE ABLE
TO BUY CBD OIL ALONGSIDE POT
PRODUCTS BUT THE MEDICAL CLAIMS
STILL WON'T BE ABLE TO BE MADE
UNTIL THE EVIDENCE SUPPORTS
THOSE CLAIMS.
>> Andrew: HOW ARE CANADIANS
GETTING THIS STUFF FROM
HEMPWORX IF CANNABIS PRODUCTS
AREN'T LEGAL YET.
>> Reporter: TECHNICALLY YOU
SHOULD ONLY GET IT WITH A
PRESCRIPTION BUT IT'S THE WILD,
WILD WEST RIGHT NOW.
THEY SAID IT WAS 100% LEGAL,
WHEN WE SPOKE WITH HEALTH
CANADA THEY SAID NO.
IT'S ILLEGAL TO SHIP IT OVER
THE BORDER, LAW ENFORCEMENT
SHOULD BE INVOLVED.
THIS MORNING THEY SENT A NOTE
TO THEIR AFFILIATE SAYING THEY
WERE GOING TO SUSPEND THE
IMPORTATION OF THE PRODUCT IN
CANADA UNTIL THEY GET A PERMIT,
SOMETHING THEY SAY THEY APPLIED
FOR NINE MONTHS AGO.
>> Andrew: THANK YOU.
>> YOU'RE WELCOME.
>> Andrew: HERE IS WHAT ELSE WE
ARE WORKING ON "THE NATIONAL."
WHAT DO NAFTA AND THE ROMANCE
NOVEL HAVE IN COMMON?
THEY HAVE BOTH BEEN DISRUPTED
BY U.S. PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP,
OF COURSE.
PLUS, THE WINNIPEG JETS ARE
HEADED TO THE WESTERN
CONFERENCE FINAL.
YOU WILL MEET JETS FANS WHO
HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS
MOMENT.
AND CYBORGS ON THE ASSEMBLY
LINE.
I TRY OUT A MECHANICAL SOLUTION
IN THIS EPISODE OF "THE FIX".
>> KIND OF LIKE I'M RESTING MY
ARM ON A LEDGE WITHOUT HAVING
TO HOLD THEM UP, SO I FEEL I
COULD DO THIS
>> BEEN HERE FOR 57 YEARS AND
NEVER SEEN THIS.
>> Andrew: TONIGHT ON "THE
NATIONAL", THE WORST FLOODING
TO HIT SOUTHERN B.C. IN DECADES.
ENTIRE NEIGHBOURHOODS ARE UNDER
WATER AND NEARLY 3,000 PEOPLE
ARE UNDER EVACUATION ORDERS
AFTER DAYS OF HEAVY RAIN AND
MELTING SNOW.
HERE IS THE SCENE IN GRAND
FORKS.
A COMMUNITY ALONG THE U.S.
BORDER ABOUT 200 KILOMETRES
SOUTHEAST OF KELOWNA, WATERS
ROSE SO FAST LAST NIGHT SOME
PEOPLE BECAME TRAPPED IN THEIR
HOMES, SO CREWS WERE BUSY
TRACKING DOWN THOSE PEOPLE
NEEDING RESCUE AS OTHERS RACED
TO TRY TO STOP FLOODWATERS FROM
SPREADING.
UNSEASONBLY HOT TEMPERATURES IN
THE FORECAST FOR THE REGION
OVER THE NEXT SEVERAL DAYS.
IT'S EXPECTED TO MELT SNOW AND
MAKE THE FLOODING SITUATION
EVEN WORSE.
>> WE HAVE WARM WEATHER COMING,
WE'VE GOT MORE SNOW, SO THIS
WITH US FOR A WHILE.
>> Andrew: WITH THAT THREAT
LOOMING, OFFICIALS ARE ISSUING
A FAMILIAR WARNING, PUT SAFETY
FIRST AND BE READY TO LEAVE
HOME IF NECESSARY.
IT WAS A BIG DAY FOR RESIDENTS
OF LAC-MEGANTIC IN QUEBEC TODAY.
TRAIN TRACKS THAT ONCE RAN
THROUGH THEIR COMMUNITY WILL NO
MORE.
>>
>> Prime Minister Justin
Trudeau: TODAY WE ARE TAKING AN
IMPORTANT STEP TO HELP HEAL THE
WOUNDS OF A COMMUNITY THAT'S
BEEN THROUGH SO MUCH.
CANADA AND THE GOVERNMENT OF
QUEBEC HAVE REACHED AN
AGREEMENT IN PRINCIPLE TO
JOINTLY FUND THE RAIL BY PASS
PROJECT.
>> Andrew: LAC-MEGANTIC'S
DOWNTOWN CHORDEE STROIED JULY
6th, 2013 WHEN A RUN AWAY TRAIN
CARRYING CRUDE OIL JUMPED THE
TRACKS AND EXPLODED.
RESIDENTS ARE HAPPY TO SEE THE
TRACKS REROUTED ELSEWHERE, AWAY
FROM THEIR TOWN, BUT THAT MAY
JUST CREATE NEW PROBLEMS
ELSEWHERE.
AS JAELA BERNSTEIN TELLS US,
PLEASING EVERYONE MAY NOT BE
POSSIBLE.
>> Reporter: THEY HAVE LIVED IN
LAC-MEGANTIC THEIR ENTIRE LIVES.
TRAINS PASS UP TO FOUR TIMES A
DAY.
>> WE WERE USED TO THAT BUT NOW
IT'S NOT THE SAME FEELING ANY
MORE.
I'M FRIGHTENED.
>> Reporter: SHE AND MANY IN
TOWN ARE RELIEVED THE RAIL
BYPASS WILL BE BUILT WITHIN
FOUR YEARS.
>> JUST KNOWING THAT NOW PEOPLE
WILL COME BACK TO LIVE IN TOWN,
LIFE IS COMING BACK.
EVERYTHING WILL COME ANOTHER
DAY AT A TIME.
>> Reporter: BUT THE PROMISE OF
A RAIL BYPASS FOR 2022 HAS LEFT
THE COMMUNITY DIVIDED.
IT WILL CUT THROUGH LAND OWNED
BY 44 PEOPLE AND IN A PLACE
STILL GRAPPLING WITH A TRAUMA
THAT FEELS ALL TOO RECENT
EMOTIONS RUN HIGH.
THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT VOWS IT
WILL OFFER FAIR COMPENSATION
BUT THAT'S COLD COMFORT FOR
SOME.
>> [SPEAKING FRENCH]
>> SHE AND HER HUSBAND BUILT
THEIR HOME HERE, HER PARENTS
LIVE JUST DOWN THE HILL BUT THE
NEW TRACKS WILL SLICE RIGHT
BETWEEN THE THEIR HOUSES
CUTTING THEM OFF.
[SPEAKING FRENCH]
>> Reporter: JACQUES
UNDERSTANDS THE NEED FOR A RAIL
BYPASS BUT SHE WISHES SHE
DIDN'T HAVE TO SACRIFICE HER
OWN TRANQUILITY.
IT'S A BALANCING ACT, SAYS THE
PREMIER.
>> CERTAIN CHANGES COULD BE
MADE AT THE MARGINS.
LET'S BE CLEAR, WE WON'T START
AGAIN FROM SCRATCH.
>> Reporter: SHE AND HER
HUSBAND WERE READY TO MOVE IF
THE BYPASS WAS REFUSED.
NOW THEY CAN SPEND THEIR
RETIREMENT LISTENING TO THE
BIRDS AND NOT THE TRAIN.
JAELA BERNSTEIN, CBC NEWS,
LAC-MEGANTIC.
>> Andrew: TURNING NOW TO
TORONTO, WHERE STUDENTS AT
SEVERAL HIGH SCHOOLS WALKED OUT
OF CLASS IN PROTEST TODAY.
THEY SAY NEW RULES MEANT TO
PROTECT THEM FROM PREDATORY
TEACHERS AREN'T TOUGH ENOUGH.
OUR RON CHARLES ASKS THE
ORGANIZERS WHAT THEY HOPE TO
SEE.
>> Reporter: YOU COULD CALL
THIS ME TOO MEETS THE
BURGEONING STUDENT LEAD PROTEST.
UNDER NEW LEGISLATION ENACTED
WEDNESDAY ONTARIO TEACHERS
FOUND GUILTY OF GROPING OR
SEXUALLY TOUCHING STUDENTS
AUTOMATICALLY LOSE THEIR
TEACHING LICENSES BUT THESE
STUDENTS SAY THOSE NEW RULES
DON'T GO FAR ENOUGH.
STUDENT SARA SOTOMAYOR WANTS
THEM TO APPLY TO TEACHERS
ENGAGING IN OTHER SEXUALLY
INAPPROPRIATE BEHAVIOUR.
>> SEXUAL MISCONDUCT SHOULDN'T
BE ALLOWED IN SCHOOLS AND THE
LEGISLATION ISN'T CLEAR WHETHER
TEACHERS FOUND GUILTY OF SEXUAL
MISCONDUCT WILL HAVE THEIR
LICENSE REVOKED.
>> SHE REFERENCES A TEACHER ON
HOME ASSIGNMENT AFTER YEARS OF
COMPLAINTS OF SEXUALLY
INAPPROPRIATE COMMENTS.
>> IT CAUSED OUTRAGE AT MY
SCHOOL.
>> EMPLOYMENT LAWYER DAVID
WHITTEN SAYS THE NEW RULES MAY
ALREADY BE FOO BROAD.
TOO BROAD.
>> I THINK IT'S PROBLEMATIC.
IT'S SO EXPANSIVE NOW IT COULD
CAPTURE INADVERTENT CONTACT
BETWEEN A TEACHER AND STUDENT.
>> THEY ALSO WANT TRAINING FOR
STUDENTS, TEACHERS AND
ADMINISTRATORS HOW TO RECOGNIZE
AND DEAL WITH SEXUAL ABUSE AND
MISCONDUCT.
IN JUST A MONTH THEY HAVE
COLLECTED 17,000 SIGNATURES ON
A PETITION.
>> IT'S REALLY GREAT THAT WE
HAVE SO MUCH SUPPORT.
STUDENTS ARE PASSIONATE, THEY
ARE TIRED OF NOT HAVING THEIR
VOICES HEARD.
>> Reporter: THEY ARE HOPING
THEIR VOICES ARE HEARD DURING
THE CURRENT ONTARIO ELECTION
CAMPAIGN AND NOT FORGOTTEN WHEN
BOTH THE LEGISLATURE AND SCHOOL
RETURNS IN SEPTEMBER.
RON CHARLES, CBC NEWS, TORONTO.
>> Andrew: SO HOW OFTEN DO
TEACHERS LOSE THEIR LICENSES?
OVER ANY KIND OF MISCONDUCT IN
THIS COUNTRY?
WELL CBC NEWS MARKETPLACE
INVESTIGATION FOUND THAT 374
TEACHERS HAD THEIR CERTIFICATES
PULLED BETWEEN 2005 AND 2015,
OVERWHELMING MAJORITY IN
ONTARIO.
EXCLUDING QUEBEC, ONLY REVOKING
1 IN 5,780.
DOWN IN THE STATES THAT RATE IS
ABOUT 30% HIGHER.
AND NEXT ON "THE NATIONAL", A
SCI-FI SOLUTION TO THE RAVAGES
OF LIFE ON AN ASSEMBLY LINE.
>> I THINK WHEN I RETIRE IN SIX
YEARS, I'M NOT GOING TO BE ALL
HANDS GRIPPED AND SHOULDERS
HURT, I HAVE SEEN A LOT OF GUYS
AFTER THEY RETIRED THEY FALL
APART BECAUSE 30-40 YEARS
>> Andrew: WELCOME BACK.
THE FORD MOTOR COMPANY IS
WRAPPED UP IN A BIT OF A
SCIENCE EXPERIMENT BUT THE TEST
SUBJECTS AREN'T THE CARS
THEMSELVES, THEY ARE FOCUSING
ON THE PEOPLE WHO BUILD THEM.
YOU MAY THINK IT'S MOSTLY
ROBOTS WHO DO THE WORK BUT
ASSEMBLYING THE MILLIONS OF
CARS A YEAR IS STILL QUITE
LABOUR INTENSIVE.
SO THEY ARE MECHANIZING GIVING
THEM SUPER HUMAN QUALITY AND
SAYING IT COULD MAKE LIFE
BETTER FOR EVERYONE.
I WENT TO AN ASSEMBLY PLANT
OUTSIDE DETROIT IN MICHIGAN TO
MEET A MAN USING AN AUGMENTING
PROCESS ABOUT AS SIMPLE AS
PUTTING ON A BACKPACK.
>> THE MODERN DAY ASSEMBLY
LINE, MILLIONS OF MOVING PARTS
AND REAL MARRIAGE OF MAN AND
MACHINE.
MORE THAN 1,000 HUMANS WORK THE
LINE HERE AND THEY ARE
EVERYTHING MACHINES ARE NOT,
INTELLIGENCE, ADAPTABLE, BUT
ALSO FUNDAMENTALLY FLAWED.
>> YOU ARE EXHAUSTED AT THE END
OF THE DAY.
MY WIFE WILL SAY LET'S GO DO
SOMETHING ON A WEDNESDAY NIGHT
AND SHE WOULD SEE ME WALK
THROUGH THE DOOR AND KNOW I
WOULD TELL HER NO, I WAS TOO
TIRED TO DO ANYTHING.
MY NAME IS PAUL COLLINS, I
STARTED WORKING HERE IN 1995 IN
JANUARY.
>> 24 YEARS, HE HAS LEARNED A
LOT ABOUT ASSEMBLING CARS IN
THAT TIME AND THE LESSON THAT
STANDS OUT, IT'S PAINFUL WORK.
>> I WAS GOING HOME AT NIGHT
FLOPPING ON THE COUCH, ICY HOT
ON MY NECK EVERY NIGHT, IT'S
HARD TO EXPLAIN PAIN, YOU ARE
TIRED, EXHAUSTED, FATIGUED.
>> SO WE ARE ALL ON THE SAME
PAGE PAUL DOES VERY LITTLE
HEAVY LIFTING.
IT'S KIND OF THE OPPOSITE, A
SMALL TWEAK HERE, LITTLE TWIST
THERE, BUT CONSIDER THIS, EVERY
50 SECONDS ANOTHER CAR GOES BY,
YOU GET IN, DO YOUR THING, YOU
GET OUT, DO THAT FOR HUNDREDS
OF CARS, FOR YEARS, THERE'S A
BODY BREAKING RHYTHM TO THIS
JOB.
>> WE ARE PROGRAMMED TO DO THE
SAME THING EVERYDAY ALL DAY,
SAME PROCESS, NOTHING CHANGES.
IF YOU TAKE A LOOK AT THE BODY
PARTS INJURED THE MOST, IF YOU
LOOK AT THE INJURY DATA, IT'S
LOW BACK AND SHOULDER.
>> THIS IS MARTY SMEDTS, CAR
GUY, NUMBER CRUNCHER
>> THE PROBLEM WITH THE
SHOULDER ONCE ITS INJURED IT
TAKES TIME TO RETURN TO FULL
FUNCTIONALITY AND IT IS COSTLY.
IT COULD BE $30,000.
>> $100,000 JUST FOR EVERYDAY
WEAR AND TEAR BUT THAT'S JUST
THE FACT OF BEING HUMAN, RIGHT?
MAYBE NOT.
>> AUGMENTING A HUMAN PROVIDES
THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS.
>> WHICH BRINGS US BACK TO PAUL.
HE IS AMONG THE VERY FIRST TO
PILOT A RELATIVELY NEW WAY OF
MERGING MAN AND MACHINE ON THE
JOB.
HE IS WEARING AN UPPER BODY
EXOSKELETON.
A BIONIC VEST.
>> ANYTHING THAT WILL MAKE ME
FEEL BETTER AT THE END OF THE
DAY I WILL GIVE IT A TRY.
>> WE WERE ALLOWED ON THE
MOVING ASSEMBLY LINE, THE ONLY
RULES, WATCH YOUR HEAD AND TRY
NOT TO SCRATCH THE PAINT.
>> BEFORE YOU HAVE THE VEST,
HOW WOULD IT FEEL DOING THIS
OVER AND OVER AGAIN.
>> YOU ARE HOLDING UP YOUR
ARMS, DOING THIS ALL DAY LONG.
>> HOW HEAVY IS THIS TOOL YOU
ARE HOLDING?
>> 3 POUNDS, MAYBE.
>> AFTER A FULL DAY OF HOLDING
THAT OVER YOUR HEAD YOU
DEFINITELY START FEELING, IT,
HUH?
OH YEAH, THAT'S HEAVY.
>> IT'S ALMOST AS IF SOMEONE IS
LIFTING YOUR ELBOW UP FROM
BELOW.
>> CAN YOU SHOW ME THE VEST,
HOW IT WORKS.
>> PUT IT ON LIKE A BACKPACK.
>> THE GENIUS OF THE DESIGN IS
HOW UNCOMPLICATED IT IS.
THERE'S NO FUEL, NO BATTERY, NO
ELECTRICITY AT ALL.
JUST SPRINGS.
IT'S WHAT THEY CALL A PASSIVE
DEVICE, COMPLETELY UNPOWERED.
BUT IT GIVES ENOUGH LIFT TO
MAKE YOUR ARMS AND ANY TOOLS
YOU ARE HOLDING FEEL WEIGHTLESS.
>> WOW, IT SORT OF LIFTS YOUR
ARM UP.
TO BE CLEAR, INFINITE STRENGTH,
THIS IS NOT, BUT INFINITE
ENDURANCE?
GETTING THERE.
THE WAY I HAVE MY ARMS NOW I
CAN FEEL THE MOST ACTIVATION.
IT'S KIND OF LIKE I'M JUST
RESTING MY ARMS ON A LEDGE

BREAKING: Reporter's BREAKTHROUGH Discovery Suggests Thicker FBI Plot To Oust Trump(VIDEO)!!! - Duration: 15:40.BREAKING: Reporter's BREAKTHROUGH Discovery Suggests Thicker FBI Plot To Oust Trump
back in the nation's capital things are boiling once again House Republicans
Devin Eunice and trey gowdy meeting with senior Justice Department
officials looking for classified documents about the Russia investigation
Kim straddle writing an op-ed in The Wall Street Journal it reads in part
quote the Department of Justice lost its latest battle with Congress Thursday
when it allowed House Intelligence Committee members to view classified
documents about a top secret intelligence source that was part of the
FBI's investigation of the Trump campaign even without official
confirmation of that sources name the news so far holds some stunning
implications but the Justice Department is pushing back on her narrative telling
Fox News they only briefed the lawmakers and did not reveal any sources or let
them read actual documents and Kim stressfull Wall Street Journal editorial
board member and Fox News contributor joins us now one of those stunning
revelations that you write about and I would encourage our viewers to check out
your piece in The Wall Street Journal one of those stunning revelations is you
say the FBI outright hid documents from congressional investigators well it's
very important hi John by the way it's very important to listen to Speaker Paul
Ryan who in his press conference yesterday pointed out that this request
by Devan newness and trey Gowdy was wholly appropriate and within the scope
of their ongoing investigation and frankly should have been answered quite
a while ago that's another way of saying that whatever this is is entirely
relevant to the long-standing probe that the House Intelligence Committee has
been conducting into the FBI's handling of the Russia collusion investigation
and that means that the Justice Department they knew full well that they
should have handed over whatever it is that these two men are seeking all the
way back last summer when they were requested for documents in August but
the FBI has been stonewalling or concealing what it has right well for
months now look at how they handled that initial subpoena they simply ignored it
and then they delayed and remember all of the excuses this could harm national
security this could undermine our relationship
with intelligence partners what we have seen so far show that none of that's the
case what they were actually hiding were revelations that were hugely
embarrassing to the FBI for instance the fact that it didn't fully inform the
FISA Court about the fact that it was basing its surveillance warrant on
information that came from the rival presidential campaign and the
indications are that the FBI had some kind of a source within the Trump
campaign that was feeding them information
well at least interacting with the Trump campaign what we know from a leak that
appears to have come from law enforcement is that they're requesting
information about a source and that term is important because when the FBI talks
about a source they talk about someone that set your average citizen that uses
their credentials or their job as a way of spying for the agency so we can take
that to mean that this is somebody that was interacting with the Trump campaign
in some way and reporting back to the FBI which means the FBI was using human
intelligence to spy on a presidential campaign yeah and and that goes back to
the whole unmasking controversy you know the FBI only masks those names because
they've taken a look at the information and they have found that that it's not
relevant to whatever they're investigating so when the Obama
administration then unmasked to those names it was essentially revealing
information that the FBI had already deemed was not relevant well these are
protections that we have in place for American citizens who are interacting
with foreigners we're allowed obviously to keep track of what the Russian
ambassador is saying on a phone we have those spying tools but we're not
supposed to be using those tools to observe Americans and so we we mask
those names but we had the Obama administration unmasking
now know that there was a surveillance warrants against members of the Trump
campaign we now believe based on this that they potentially had human people
spying on that mean this is pretty amazing and outrageous stuff especially
this is a political environment law enforcement supposed to tread very
carefully so that they don't look like they're in any way influencing or
getting involved in an election all right so my final question if you could
ask one question of the FBI and get an answer to it what would it be well it
would be for this name and to come clean about exactly what was happening in
terms of all of its surveillance and monitoring and investigation of the
Trump campaign the American people need to see this her piece is titled about
that FBI source and again I'd urge you to read it hits in the Wall Street
Journal today Kimberly's trestle the author Kim thank you we say this a lot
but documents obtained by judicial watch may confirm collusion between Muller and
Comey in the emails FBI officials advise former director James Comey to consult
with special counsel Muller before Comey testified to Congress what
well that substantiates News reports that Comey met with Muller prior to his
testimony before the Senate Intel committee in June of last year
joining us now with more on this is tom Fitton the president of Judicial Watch
we're also joined by whitewater deputy independent counsel Saul Weisenberger
along with Harmeet Dillon at the RNC committee woman from California a
practicing attorney civil rights attorney as well great to see all of you
tom boy it's tough to get documents out of this Justice Department and you guys
had to file how many suits to get this nugget about Comey and Muller to federal
lawsuits Freedom of Information Act lawsuits we again asked began asking for
the documents in August of last year we just got 15 or so pages in the last week
or so and they show as you say you know James Comey was fired by the President
and within a day or so he's communicating with the FBI about
upcoming testimony because all the Congress wanted them to testify and you
see the emails dear Jim hi Jim can we coordinate
what information do you need me to have in terms of instance can we have we have
a couple of the full screens of the emails up there and yeah director in
response to your email below we've consulted with executive management here
including the general counsel and recommend the following that your
counsel there's a mistakes there's typos in here but consult with a special
counsel Muller to determine the timing of any such testimony so the timing
should be worked out with Muller - right is there any benign explanation for this
well you know typically there would be some coordination but what Comey said
was beyond the pale in terms of what government officials are typically
allowed to say in such situations certainly if you're an FBI director and
you're having meetings with the President of the United States typically
the agencies tell you you're not allowed to talk about it
you're not allowed to talk about documents you created at the FBI about
those conversations Comey had full full you know free rein and during his
testimony and it was blessed both by the FBI it looks like and by mr. Muller so
this is curious but they're also as they refer to in this in this email there are
I guess they say institutional privileges or prerogatives that may be
presented by any such testimony so the FBI a special counsel's office messaging
call me about you we just want to basically coordinated out the concerns I
guess I don't know the institutional privileges things that call me wouldn't
have to reveal presumably on Capitol Hill do you see any problems with this
the appearance of coordination I don't see any problem for for Muller I don't I
don't to me this isn't really new news I think Comey at the time announced that
he was going to consult with Muller it's very clear that Comey has had a man
crush on Muller for quite some time and wants to wrap himself in in Muller's
glory but I haven't actually read these latest emails that Tom got but I don't
think there's anything wrong with Comey going to Muller and saying I'm gonna
testify do you have any problem with what I'm gonna say or how I'm gonna say
it and do we know that Muller blessed
anything or is that just somebody's surmise so again nothing surprises me
about Jim Comey I don't think it should be used to smear Muller here's another
big story and Harmeet I want to get into this so Devin Nunez and trey gowdy went
up to the Justice Department today and they were allowed to review certain
classified documents and they said this afterward we had a productive discussion
today with officials at the office of Director of National Intelligence
Department of Justice FBI and we raised questions related to the information
requested from the Intel community the officials committed to holding
further discussions of these matters we look forward to continuing dialogue blah
blah blah this follows Nunez again threatening contempt of Congress against
Jeff Sessions simply gift a threatened contempt of Congress to get anywhere and
you know and what what is this where's this going I mean this is a this is a
spectacle it does a very bad for the reputation of the Department of Justice
and the FBI here where it takes threats repeated threats it's like you know it's
like those movies where the villains are chasing the train and they're throwing
stuff off the back to try to delay them you know it's like that but eventually
they're going to have to you know pay the piper and come forward with this
information they're doing it very slowly there's clearly something they have to
hide because if they didn't have something to hide what's really ironic
here is that the Department of Justice is not in the Constitution it's an
inferior branch of government that was created by Congress and so for them to
arrogantly say that they're somehow above the Congress and they don't have
to answer requests like the rest of the government is truly outrageous so the
president wants them to cooperate clearly now they put out the story at
the DOJ that the White House is on board with with what they're doing but then
the White House put out a statement saying no actually we want you to
cooperate just don't give stuff that's extra top high seek top secret what
we've seen from their word actions in the past that have been grudgingly
unveiled is that there were nothing burgers they were simply there to
protect and to protect the DOJ from yeah well they were exculpatory exculpatory
not not for the DOJ right for Flynn and and you know for other people so they're
protecting very Zarya hide so there's always a tug of war between Congress and
the executive branch that has always exempt it was actually the butt
but this does take it to a new level and Kim's Drossel has an interesting
analysis I want you all to weigh in on this tonight in The Wall Street Journal
she writes it's about the FBI source she says we know mr. Nunez's requests deals
with a top secret and intel source of the FBI and CIA who is a US citizen and
who was involved in the Russia collusion probe we might take this to mean that
the FBI secretly had a person on the payroll who used his or her non FBI
credentials to interact in some capacity with the Trump campaign stressfull seems
to be she has incredible sources I know that and she seems to be indicating that
there could have been someone inside the Trump campaign from the FBI who is
embedded in there I guess spying on the Trump campaign now we'll see if any of
this pans out but Tom well we had confirmation this last week from the
House Intelligence Committee that there was a counterintelligence operation
against Flynn while he was on the campaign or working for the transit and
how does that play out yes wiretaps are just what yeah what was it what did the
program entail look this Justice Department takes the approach of the
modified limited hangout in terms of information releases for months the
Moller operation sat on the fact that they had the Lisa Paige truck struck
page of messages and on top of that then we found out about the Clinton DNC
dossier there's going to be a fourth or a third or fifth shoe to draw their
shoes I mean this I don't believe that there's classified information at issue
here there's embarrassing information
additions all the stressful part but it's interesting if if if so I love I
know you love if says they as a white collar litigator you love my
hypotheticals let's go back to law school
if the FBI embedded someone inside the Trump campaign and they believe it for
legitimate purpose if Russia was really trying to throw the election if they had
information indicating that they put someone inside the Trump campaign were
burrowed away working in a one of those little cubicles with his ear out or her
ear out what's the problem there if there's a problem there oh there's a big
problem unless you have the same kind of problem you
have when you search a lawyer's office you better have something really really
good to be able to justify that and here's the problem there's an old saying
and that before I go any further let's give credit to John Ehrlichman the
author of modified limited hangout I wouldn't want to leave him twisting
slowly-slowly in the wind Laura keep in mind there's an old saying the wages of
crying wolf and for me put her put her finger on it we've now seen too many
instances where the Department of Justice and/or the FBI has said we have
to redact this because it's it could endanger national security and it's
classified and we have seen now time after time where it's been unredacted
and it's just been embarrassing and the latest exam and when you do that two or
three times people are going to stop believing you you lose all credibility
and we saw that last weekend when they finally unredacted two passages in the
House Intelligence Committee majority report the Select Committee report and
they revealed two incredible things one that the FBI didn't think Mike Flynn had
lied we had heard about that he exactly shocking shockingly that people haven't
focused on enough that the underlying crime Mike Flynn was being investigated
for was the Logan Act an act that's been a dead-letter for 200 over 200 years all
right it's absolutely shocking
but it's really it's really shocking it's really shocking that Sally Yates
would would approve and greenlight an investigation of anybody for violating
the Logan act turkey here I mean we're way over here but Sally Yates I mean
that little hissy fit of a resignation letter the show come on she marches
herself over the agents over to interview Flynn that whole that whole
thing smells like a big fat setup to me Yates marching what have any business
going to interview Mike Flynn Mike's I didn't even have a lawyer whether he's
lecture I'll talk to you didn't notice Mike Flynn should had never talked to
them but he didn't think anything of it Saul he was like well you know whatever
you guys were way over I want to do an hour with you I need to have a five hour
show I love my guests thank you guys thank you god bless you and God bless

Seoul's FM meets U.S. Secretary of State to share details on recent meetings - Duration: 2:41.And close cooperation between South Korea and the U.S. is continuing ahead of a summit
between Presidents Moon and Trump later this month.... and the meeting between President
Trump and Kim Jong-un in mid-June.
Lee Ji-won with more.
South Korea's Foreign Minister Kang Kyung-wha met with her U.S. counterpart, Secretary of
State Mike Pompeo, for the first time on Friday.
During their talks in Washington,... the two discussed the upcoming North Korea-U.S. summit
that's set for June 12th in Singapore.
They also reaffirmed their shared goal on North Korea.
"We agreed that the summit would be a historic opportunity for resolving the North Korean
nuclear issue and securing enduring peace on the Korean Peninsula.
We reaffirmed that our goal is to achieve the complete verifiable and irreversible denuclearization
on the Korean Peninsula.
In this regard, Secretary Pompeo and I agreed the next few weeks will be critical, requiring
airtight coordination between our two countries."
Pompeo added that if North Korea chooses to swiftly denuclearize, the U.S. is ready to
help North Korea breathe life into its ailing economy.
"America's track record of support for the Korean people is second to none.
If North Korea takes bold action to quickly denuclearize, the United States is prepared
to work with North Korea to achieve prosperity on the par with our South Korean friends."
Asked about his recent talks in Pyongyang with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, Pompeo
said they had substantive conversations that involve deep complex problems, like if Kim
is prepared to FULLY denuclearize.
Pompeo added, by "fully", it would mean to ensure Pyongyang doesn't possess the capacity
to threaten the U.S. or the world with nuclear weapons.
Pompeo said the only way to achieve that is through a "robust verification program".
"... one that we will undertake with partners around the world, which will achieve that
outcome in a way that frankly no agreement before it has ever set forth.
A big undertaking for sure but one that Chairman Kim and I had the opportunity to have a good
sound discussion on, so that I think we have a pretty good understanding between our two
countries about what the shared objectives are."
While the U.S. diplomat appeared optimistic about seeing eye-to-eye with the North, Pompeo
and Kang also made it clear that sanctions will remain in place until visible, meaningful
actions are taken by North Korea on the denuclearization track.

How do we know about God?
What do we know about God apart from what we have learnt from Jesus?
Today's Gospel tells us exactly about it.
Everything that we have learnt about God was uttered by Jesus.
It came out of His heart, out of His stories, out of His song of love that He sang about His Father.
in fact, the whole Gospel is a story about God.
The story about who we are, the story about our weaknesses and sins -
this story was indeed pretty well-worded in culture, in various films, poems, tragedies and so on.
But the story about the mystery of God - only one person uttered this poem in this form,
in this fullness, in this depth, it was uttered by the everlasting Word that became flesh just in order to tell us about the Father.

Sell Harry Kane to Arsenal for £100m? Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger delivers warning to Spurs ● #AFC - Duration: 2:31.Arsene Wenger has left the cat among the pigeons by warning north London rivals Spurs that
they may have to sell Harry Kane to pay for their new stadium.
"There are some things that have changed," he said.
"The impact of the transfers has increased a lot.
The prices have gone up and the prices for the stadium have doubled.
"It has not really happened in recent seasons here because other clubs have used outside
resources.
We had a double handicap.
We had to pay back the debt and had to face the competition where clubs have even more
resources than they usually have.
"The transfers of the players have tripled or quadrupled.
A £10million player when we built the stadium was huge.
Today a guy like Kane, I don't know for much they can sell him.
£100m?
So they might get more supply.
"But they have to face it.
Will they have to sell players?
Even to Arsenal maybe!"
His tongue may have been firmly in his cheek for the final comment, but he knows just how
difficult the transition was on the other side of north London.
Ahead of his final game at Huddersfield tomorrow, Wenger was asked if he regretted leaving Highbury.
"I believe Highbury had a special spirit," he said.
"It's a cathedral, a church.
You could smell the soul of every guy that played there.
So it was special.
It will always be special for me.
"The Emirates for me was like buying a new house.
It took us a while to feel at home there.
It's a fantastic stadium – but there was something special at Highbury that you could
never recreate when you build something new.
"But we had to do it.
There is no club that can turn people who wanted to attend the game down.
At the time I thought we were a bit too ambition with 60,000 but at the end of the day it worked."

How to get a Black Belt or achieve any Epic goal! - Part 3 - Duration: 9:47.- Thank you for tuning in to
part three of How To Get Your Black Belt
or Achieve Any Epic Goal.
So this session is all about the specific techniques
and I'm gonna give thanks to all the people
that helped me along the way through this as well.
So the first and the main thing that I did was
just develop my self-hypnosis skills.
And this can be also considered meditation skills
or focusing, mindfulness skills,
whatever you want to call it
but the specific technique that I used
was a self-hypnosis technique from
Mike Mandel and Chris Thompson.
And I'll post any of the people that I talk about
down below as well in the notes
so you can check them out too.
So I used a breathing in through an eye,
breathing in through the eyes induction
and then, starting back in December,
on probably, it ended up being about
half the nights of the week,
I would use this to de-stress,
to focus on healing, to whatever reason I wanted
to use it for, for that night
before going to bed, for about 10 or 15 minutes.
And I did that on a shakti mat.
So a shakti mat is a modern bed of nails.
It's just got 6,000 little points
and it can be considered painful for some people,
especially if you're just starting into it
but I use that as a way that if I can tap in
and just focus on myself and on different techniques
while lying on this.
Well, if I do anything after that,
I'm not going to feel any pain
and it helps me sleep and it was great
for other reasons too.
But what I would do is, I would put on earbuds,
I would press Play on the song,
it's just called Om.
It's meditation music that's going to be played
during the one hour Dan Jun Ho
So I was preparing, I was linking my brain
to this music means calm, means relaxation,
it means self-hypnosis, it means potential pain
on that shakti mat but enjoying the experience
and getting a benefit out of it.
So I did that, that's the biggest chunk of what I did
and I think that was the biggest factor,
one of the biggest factors going forward.
The other part, I joined in a group
with Lori Hammond, who's an amazing hypnotist.
She has a group, Change Your Life with Hypnosis
and there's, from the group sessions that she provided,
I determined that I wanted to be
the first guy to reverse the effects of
melorheostosis with my mind.
Now, that's a pretty big statement, bold statement.
There's a .001% of that happening
by using these different things,
to turn on the genes in the appropriate way
to make that happen
but that's what I decided.
And from making that decision,
it just allowed me more freedom, more potential
for things to improve.
And through that process, that's in mid March,
I realized hey, I'm actually doin' quite well with this,
I'm ready for this.
So I think that group session
and having those other people that are
working towards their goals, that was huge.
The other thing I did was,
I de-traumatized that event
back when I was 26, 27 with the MRI.
That if I can't hold my arm up here
for 20 or 30 minutes,
how am I gonna actively hold it for an hour?
The way I did that?
Really simple, I just remembered a fact
that I learned, that most cells in our bodies
are replaced after a certain amount of time.
And there's some cells in our bodies,
there are some nerve cells in the brain
and in our heart that actually stick with you for life
but every nerve receptor, throughout your entire body
is replaced every two or three days.
And then with the bones,
it's somewhere in between five and 10 years,
it takes to completely turn over those bones.
So looking back at something that was
about five years ago, I am a fairly new person
compared to what I was then.
And just that thought, it gave me the confidence
that hey, that happened in the past
but I'm a new person.
I've learned so much more, I've developed more skills
and that the same result as not going to happen.
So that's how I de-traumatized that event.
And then that brought me into the preparation,
all throughout the time and then
beginning to expect that I'm going to succeed
from that month or so before
all the way to the event
and then at 24 hours before.
What did I do then?
Well the night before, hung out with my
wife and our flat mates, watched a,
I think it was Harry Potter.
Just relaxed, did some self-hypnosis on the
shakti mat the night before
and the next morning, I prepared myself
that I was going to be in control,
I was gonna be slow and steady, nothing rushed,
I had plenty of time, had a great breakfast.
It was an omelet I think it was,
had some quality time with Ashley to get that
oxytocin levels going, did some more self-hypnosis
with the music playing so that I can just focus in,
my intention on succeeding and doing well with that.
And then on the way there,
driving with Sean, we just blasted some old-school hip hop,
which I gotta thank Colin Reddin for the CD
that we listened to.
It was stuff that brought me back to
high school and university and
it just made me feel good.
So I went into that feeling great
and with that preparation,
expecting the results and going into it
with that 24 hours before,
everything going the way that I was planning,
I had no other choice but to succeed.
That's the way I set it up in my mind.
I had no other way, I was going to hold this
for an hour because of all the stuff I'd done.
It wasn't gonna happen any other way.
So the actual technique of going through that
60 minutes was broken down into 10 minute sections
and with the self-hypnosis that I did,
I started an idea of
creating some stickiness, some tension,
some waxiness in through the fingers
and I would focus on a couple cycles of breath,
in for three, hold for three, out for three.
And just focusing on getting my fingers stiff
and then I did that for the wrists
and then the elbow, then the shoulder,
then the core, then the hips, then the knees and the ankles.
And by focusing on that,
and then if I was, if Sean came over
and gave me a tap to get a little lower,
get the hands a little higher,
I re-set that number in my mind
and by the time I got to my feet,
I was about seven, sometimes eight minutes into it
and then I just had to focus on my breathing
for the last couple minutes.
Or another interesting one, I wasn't expecting was,
with the sweat trickling down the face
and not being able to do anything about it,
I saw that as interesting and I ultra-focused on it.
A bead starting on the top of the forehead
could take a couple of minutes to go
all the way down to the chin
and I was just ultra-focus on every little bit.
Ew, it's going by the eye,
that's gonna be really sensitive,
that's gonna be interesting.
And that would be a couple minutes gone
and then, boom 10 minutes over,
restart the cycle, top of the fingers
all the way down and I just kept going through that,
every 10 minutes.
And smiling throughout most of it to get,
I know if you smile you produce those endorphins
to make you feel better
so I faked it until I became it,
for that whole experience.
And it also helped that while I was in this,
if I started to get a little high or hands low,
I knew Sean coming over and whacking me,
he was enjoying it and I wanted to just
give that smile on my face so that
he could see that happening too.
And he said afterwards, oh I felt bad giving you the whack
to get you a little higher up
because you're just smiling.
It looks like you're having such a good time
and I was
cause now, afterwards, I'm able to tell you
about this experience and that
I've made a profound shift in
my abilities and my confidence
in what I'm able to do because I've done something
really extraordinary.
One hour in a position that is awkward,
to say the least.
And I'm actually gonna be looking at other ways
I can do this kind of meditation
on a prolonged period.
I remember, I teach my patients quite a bit about
Tibetan monks and how they can sit still
for eight, 10, 12 hours at a time.
And now I can actually see myself doing that potentially.
And that's a really cool thing
that I'm gonna explore in myself
and I want you to, potentially explore with you too.
So with all of this,
I want to thank you for watching these three parts,
think of that next goal that you want to do,
playing in from that last part as well.
How are you going to prepare for that task,
on a daily or a regular basis,
even if it's just for a couple of minutes
and what are you going to expect that outcome to have?
It's not what you're hoping to have,
it's hey, this is what I'm expecting
and I want you to use this in any way that you can
and then once you achieve your goal
and are surprised at how well it went,
I want you to comment below.
Come back to this video, comment below on
how you use this technique in a unique and awesome way.
So I want to thank you for
watching these three videos.
Check out the other videos on the website too.
