Youtube daily report May 15 2018

Considering the balancing act it has to pull off, Avengers: Infinity War is pretty great.

The movie has the gargantuan task of advancing and paying off ten years of storytelling,

and directors Joe and Anthony Russo handle the assignment well.

That said, Infinity War is the first movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe that might

leave casual viewers behind.

If you haven't been keeping up with the franchise, the film contains a number of moments that

may leave viewers scratching their heads rather than fully engrossed.

After 20 movies in this series, it's easy to lose a few.

And even if you saw them when they came out, how long's it been since then?

So if you left the theater with questions, don't worry — we're here to clear up some

of those muddier moments for you.

If you haven't seen the movie, you should prepare for some spoilers.

In your head

The Mind Stone, implanted in the forehead of The Vision, is the second Infinity Stone

we see in the MCU — we see it in the scepter that Loki wields during The Avengers.

But it's changed hands so many times since then that it's easy to forget how it ended

up in the powerful android in the first place.

Here's a recap.

After Loki is defeated in The Avengers, SHIELD confiscates the scepter, supposedly for safekeeping.

Unfortunately, the organization turns out to be rife with undercover HYDRA agents, who

smuggle the scepter into the hands of their boss, Wolfgang von Strucker.

Von Strucker uses the stone to perform experiments on humans and give them powers, which is how

Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch come to be.

During the events of Age of Ultron, The heroes manage to get the scepter back from von Strucker

during a raid on his compound.

Iron Man realizes it can be used to power his version of Ultron; unfortunately, Ultron

goes rogue and uses the Mind Stone to power up a new body for himself.

The heroes steal both the stone and the robot body, and then combine the two to bring their

new teammate, the Vision, to life.

A most unexpected cameo

Infinity War wouldn't be a Marvel movie without an out-of-nowhere cameo from Stan Lee, a deep

cut Marvel Comics character, or someone else in the movie series that you didn't count

on showing up.

Sometimes they're played for laughs, like Bruce Banner and Captain America popping up

in Iron Man 3 and Thor: The Dark World.

But Avengers: Infinity War features a cameo from a character we were all but certain we'd

seen the last of: Red Skull.

His appearance to Gamora and Thanos on the planet Vormir is an awesome moment, but it's

also one that some viewers couldn't help but respond to with an "Uh, what?"

Red Skull is the villain of 2011's The First Avenger, where he's obsessed with using the

Tesseract to fuel HYDRA's plans of world domination.

His downfall comes in the film's climax, when he picks up the cube, which begins to envelop

him in awesome energy like Indiana Jones' Ark of the Covenant.

With a scream and an explosion, he's shot out into space with a blue laser beam, seemingly

never to return.

It's the last we see of the character until his surprise return in Infinity War.

His tampering with the Space Stone in the Tesseract led to his imprisonment on the distant

planet, where he's cursed to guard the Soul Stone, never able to possess its power or

to leave.

Joe and Anthony Russo have since discussed the scene's inclusion of Red Skull, explaining,

"It felt like there was more credibility than just a random character."

As his ambiguous fate in The First Avenger demonstrates, the Red Skull's re-emergence

on Vormir wasn't completely random — it just might have felt that way.

Sibling rivalry

You'd think a father would love his children equally, but then again, Thanos isn't exactly

father of the year.

Even the daughter he claims to love, Gamora, is sacrificed by Thanos so he can wield the

Soul Stone.

AND she was kidnapped to begin with — that's not exactly top-tier parenting.

It begs the question as to why Thanos doesn't seem to harbor the same sort of "affection"

for his other daughter, Nebula.

It can also lead to some confusion as to why Gamora had to be the sacrifice on Vormir when

Thanos already had Nebula imprisoned on his ship.

Wouldn't she be a worthy sacrifice for the Stone as well?

It's established in the Guardians of the Galaxy films that Thanos raises Nebula and Gamora

as competitors rather than siblings, pitting them against one another in battle time after

time.

Gamora constantly wins, and every time she does, Thanos mutilates Nebula, replacing one

of her limbs or organs with cybernetic appendages to improve her skills as a warrior.

Nonetheless, she never defeats Gamora.

There's a Darwinian side to Thanos that finds Nebula to be inferior to Gamora, his masterpiece.

She's the ultimate warrior and he gives himself the credit for making her that way.

In his own sick way, he truly loves Gamora in a way he can never love Nebula — not

that it worked out that well for her.

Paging Captain Marvel

The post-credits scene is a hallmark of the MCU, and for the most part, they expand the

universe and set up future films.

Infinity War's post-credits scene is no different.

It pulls away from the battle in Wakanda to show the effects of Thanos erasing half of

all life on Earth.

Nick Fury and Maria Hill realize what's going on and Fury pages someone as he disintegrates.

Who could he be reaching out to at a time like this?

And what does that little red and blue symbol on his pager mean?

The moment can be a bit confusing for anybody not already familiar with the character Captain

Marvel, who's getting her own solo movie in March 2019.

While not too much is known about how the character will fit into Avengers 4, we do

know that her solo film takes place in the '90s, well before the events of most MCU films

we've seen so far.

We also know a pre-eyepatch Nick Fury will be involved.

Knowing all this gives the scene a clearer context: Fury recognizes that something horrible

is happening and calls on an old friend we haven't met yet, Captain Marvel, to save the

day.

Where she's been, and what she can do to help in this fight?

That's a question not even the comic books can answer.

Tony's chest problems

Iron Man 3 closes with Tony Stark stepping down as Iron Man, and destroying all of his

suits in the process.

He also undergoes invasive surgery to remove the shrapnel in his chest, allowing him to

finally get rid of the arc reactor that's kept him alive since the first Iron Man.

However, Age of Ultron opens with Tony in the Iron Man suit and back at it full time

by the time the film is over.

Furthermore, at the beginning of Infinity War, we see that he's actually still toting

around an arc reactor on his chest.

So, why?

As Tony explains to the long-suffering Pepper Potts, the enclosure spotted in Infinity War

isn't actually an arc reactor of the sort that was slowly poisoning him in Iron Man

2.

Rather, it's an enclosure for nanotech — basically a storage space for his newest Iron Man suit

to reside.

He's still clearly got a problem with giving up the Iron Man identity, but at least he's

stopped poisoning himself with radioactive gunk.

Where's Wong?

Doctor Strange and his ally Wong are introduced pretty spectacularly in Infinity War's first

massive fight sequence, when the duo join Iron Man and Spider-Man to take on Thanos'

henchmen, Cull Obsidian and Ebony Maw.

The two sorcerers are a highlight of the first act, and Wong even gets his own character

poster.

So why does he vanish after that fight, not to be seen again for the rest of the film?

The answer lies in Doctor Strange, and is very briefly alluded to in Infinity War.

It all comes down to Doctor Strange and Wong's home, the Sanctum Sanctorum.

Part of a network of Sanctums manned by other sorcerers, it helps generate a shield against

evil, otherworldly forces.

There must always be a sorcerer in each Sanctum.

As Doctor Strange is going to be heading off-planet with Iron Man and Spider-Man, Wong is left

to stand guard and keep the planet safe.

We still don't know if he survives Thanos' purge, but we can at least rest assured that

he kept Earth safe from non-Thanos threats while the rest of the Avengers were trying

to stop the big purple guy.

Who had the Infinity Gauntlet?

The Infinity Stones and the gauntlet build to bear them have been at play in the MCU

since its earliest days, even if only in the form of brief cameos.

When all six stones rest in the Infinity Gauntlet, the user is granted complete control over

the universe.

The Gauntlet actually appears in the franchise before any of the Stones do, glimpsed briefly

in Odin's trophy room in Thor.

However, according to Infinity War, Thanos gets the gauntlet from Eitri, a dwarf and

master weapons forger.

How does this make sense?

It's quite simple, really: the Infinity Gauntlet in Asgard was counterfeit.

This is revealed very quickly in Thor: Ragnarok, when Hela ransacks the trophy room.

"Fake.

Most of this stuff in here is fake."

As it turns out, the real Gauntlet is with Thanos, who had Eitri build him a real one,

as the dwarf describes.

It might be a bit confusing if you miss Hela's line in Ragnarok, so let's not even talk about

that third Gauntlet in Eitri's studio.

Drax's vengeance

Drax the Destroyer, a character who has largely served as comic relief over the course of

his last two cinematic outings, has one of the most tragic backstories in the MCU.

As the Guardians of the Galaxy movies establish, his wife and daughter are victims of the wrath

of the Kree terrorist Ronan the Accuser.

The title of Destroyer was earned thanks to the murderous rampage he's been on since losing

them.

It does make one wonder, though, why he holds such a grudge against Thanos if Ronan is the

one who murdered his family.

Here's why: After Ronan is defeated in Guardians of the Galaxy, Drax learns that the Kree warrior

has been working for Thanos all along, which means Thanos is ultimately responsible for

the death of Drax's family.

Drax then refocuses his thirst for vengeance on the Mad Titan, and carries that rage into

Infinity War.

"What did it cost?"

Most MCU films are pretty straightforward, but this changes for a moment in Avengers:

Infinity War.

After Thanos fulfills his goal and wipes out half of all life with the snap of his fingers,

the film cuts to Thanos and Gamora in an unknown world.

Between Gamora's young appearance and the inexplicable change in location, this segment

is a bit unclear.

Is it all in Thanos' head?

Why is Gamora a child?

What does it mean?

What we're seeing in this moment has been confirmed to be a realm existing inside the

Soul Stone.

In the comics, this place is Soulworld, and it's populated by the souls of those absorbed

by the Soul Gem.

While there's yet to be an explanation for the Soulworld in the MCU, we at least know

that's probably where Thanos' conversation with Gamora takes place, and she appears as

a child because it's how he still envisions her.

This may go on to be a crucial scene once Avengers 4 arrives.

Maybe Ant-Man and the Wasp will shrink inside the Soul Stone to bust everyone out, if they're

actually in there — or, maybe Captain Marvel will just beat down Thanos until he lets everyone

go.

We'll all find out in 2019.

What If Yig Was Real? - Duration: 5:00.

Hello and welcome back to Life's Biggest Questions, I'm Ron McKenzie-Lefurgey.

Yig, otherwise knows as the Father of Serpents, is one of Lovecraft's Great Old Ones.

First seen in "The Curse of Yig", this snake-like being is known for his love and control over

snakes of the world.

But what if this freaky snake god was real?

Let's explore.

If you want more What If videos, check out our "Biggest What Ifs" playlist on the

channel.

Now get ready to get Yiggy with it, it's time to ask the question: What if The Yig

was Real?

Yig was actually created by Zealia Bishop, first appearing in The Curse of Yig, but it

was changed when Lovecraft added it to the mythos.

Little is said of Yig; some stories say he closely resembles a man until you get too

close, while other works depict Yig as looking much more like a snake.

In all cases, however, Yig has a distinct love of snakes.

Yig views snakes as its children, and much of its kindness and wrath is based on how

various individuals treat snakes.

Treat them well, and Yig has your back.

But treat snakes badly, and you may feel the wrath of this great old one.

Although Yig received relatively little attention in Lovecraft's work, he has found a good

deal of popularity in recent years, often being chosen over greater beings when creating

mythical games like Dungeons and Dragons.

This is largely because he's more relatable to modern readers and gamers.

Why?

Well, Yig is rather different from many of the other Lovecraftian Gods.

While the others tend to be incomprehensible and mysterious, difficult to pin down, Yig

seems very much like a god from one of the better-known pantheons.

It seems like something you'd find in Egyptian mythology, rather than disturbing literature.

In fact, within Yig's lore, it's stated that he may have been the prototype for the

serpentine Mosoamerican deity, Quetzalcoatl.

This gives Yig a somewhat different feel, trading the mysterious dread of the unknown

for the well-understood fear of snakes.

It also allows us to look at more specific effects of Yig's existence.

Lucky us!

So, how would the world be different if there was a Snake God on the loose?

Well first and foremost, people would probably start being a heck of a lot nicer to snakes.

Yig has been known to be easy to anger, and any act against a snake could be dealt with

heavily.

It is said that Yig will either send his snake minions after one who has angered him, or

else turn the offender into a snake themselves, do join his ranks.

The idea of being attacked by snakes, or worse yet, turning into a snake slave, would likely

be more than enough to make people terrified of harming a snake.

This might eventually lead to humanity worshipping Yig.

It's tough to believe in a vague, mysterious God that may or may not exist when there's

a big snake thing running around chucking cobras at everyone it hates.

This is something that Yig would likely be very much open to.

Perhaps the world would not only avoid harming snakes, but would even raise them to a higher

position, similar to cats in Egypt.

They would likely become much more numerous, but as long as you stayed on Yig's good

side, they likely wouldn't be a danger.

However, other than the changes to how we treat snakes, there really wouldn't be much

change.

Yig is believed to be rather easy to please, so he may not bring with him a number of commandments.

He probably wouldn't order us not to mix fabrics, when or with whom to have sex, he

wouldn't even necessarily care about killing people… just be excellent to snakes, and

party on dude!

Now, it should be noted that some interpretations see him requiring somewhat more from his followers,

but it's possible that Yig would be less demanding when it comes to all of humanity.

That said, it's possible that even accidental harm to snakes would be punished, and this

would have some rather significant effects, particularly on transportation.

Transportation would become much more stressful, particularly in more rural areas, and off-road.

If you accidentally ran over a snake in your car or bike, you may find yourself feeling

the wrath of Yig.

This would cause people to be more reluctant to travel in certain areas where snakes were

common, and would be made even more difficult as the number of snakes rose and rose.

Furthermore, it could be that Yig would cause animals that prey on snakes to go extinct,

since they, too, would be killing his children.

This would have a huge effect, since many species of animals eat snakes, from bobcats,

to wolverines, to the endlessly stoic honey badger.

We might see a mass extinction of many animals we love, and that would be a tough pill to

swallow.

Interestingly, while past videos have largely involved humanity's fight against the Old

One, it's unlikely that mankind would fight back against Yig.

First, Yig would be significantly smaller than Cthulhu or Yog-Sothoth, so it would be

a smaller target.

Furthermore, Yig tends to work more behind the scenes, making it harder to find him in

the first place.

Plus, given his abilities with snakes, it seems likely that anyone plotting against

Yig would come to an unfortunate end before they managed to succeed, and he wouldn't

even need to leave his home.

So fighting the beast would be largely futile.

And now we return to our question: What if The Yig was Real?

Well, after an initial slaughter of people who didn't get the memo, there's a good

chance that the rest of humanity would step in line, and avoid harming snakes at all costs.

It's possible, even likely, that a religion would form around Yig, although his commandments

would likely be limited to the treatment of snakes.

However, these new rules would cause people to be incredibly cautious when traveling,

severely limiting man's mobility, and could even result in mass extinction of animals

that prey on snakes.

So I, for one, am glad that Yig isn't real.

But if he is…

I welcome my snake overlords!

Being Vulnerable On The Internet - Duration: 7:35.

(pencil scratching)

(beeping)

Hello, so today is, well, actually,

the entirety of May is Mental Health Awareness Month.

So we're going to bring some mental health awareness videos

to this channel, and today I want to talk about

being vulnerable on the Internet.

Really, this isn't just about mental health,

but I guess, kind of, it is, let's just go with it here.

This is actually a video that was inspired

last year by Dodie,

Dodie made a video about sharing too much on the Internet,

sharing too much of her mental illness on the Internet,

and that kind of had me thinking about talking about

being vulnerable on the Internet,

so it's kind of like an add-on to that video,

because I know Melanie Murphy also made a video about that,

so we're just kind of continuing the conversation,

about a year or so after it started.

So I want to talk about the good things and the bad things

about being vulnerable on the Internet,

about being someone like a YouTuber or a content creator

if you write stuff, rather than make videos, you know

talking a lot about yourself and what you've been through,

there are good things and bad things that come along

with that type of job,

or hobby, or whatever YouTube or content-creating is to you.

So let's just start off with the bad things first

so we can end up on more of a positive note.

Two of these cons that I wrote down kind of go together,

which is, one, public judgment, and two,

people thinking that they know more than they actually do.

So one, when you put yourself out there

and you talk about your experiences,

you are one person versus however many people

know who you are and have seen your video.

So let's say a thousand people watch this,

this is one of me and a thousand other people

that can take whatever is being said and speculate

and just, sometimes it gets to the point

where they start making up certain scenarios,

creating scenarios then just acting like

they know you better, know your experiences better

and what have you.

And of course people do this, and I know that

there are websites dedicated to doing this kind of thing,

which is absolutely bizarre to me.

And that is why there is the Internet rule

of don't read the comments, because sometimes this happens.

Not necessarily in your own space, because you control

your own space, so you control what you see,

what others see, what others can do.

But when I make a video for Ai-Media,

which I haven't done in quite some time,

Ai-Media is not my space, so anybody can do what they want,

and there has been one instance when I was able to ask

the people to remove a certain comment,

but it's not my space, I can't really do anything about it.

Or when an article is posted and people

have some absolutely ridiculous things to say,

not my space, can't really do anything about it,

I don't control the domain,

I did not write the article that is posted.

So that's something that's really annoying to see,

so that's why, people, the Internet rule,

don't read the comments.

And then the third bad thing,

which is what Dodie was talking about in her video

way back when, the possibility of sharing too much,

especially with something like mental illness,

it can get really, really uncomfortable,

sometimes to the point of, say, glamorizing something,

like glamorizing depression, anxiety, suicide, or something.

Disclaimer, this is not me saying

that any particular person does that,

I'm just saying that sometimes it is a possibility.

And I know some people have said that,

"So-and-so has done this," right?

But sometimes you can share a little bit, a little too much,

you have to create boundaries with yourself, with others.

Because the fact is, if you share too much,

if you share the wrong things,

people can use that against you,

so it is very important to keep some

or a lot of things to yourself.

I know there were certain things about my abuse

that I dealt with that I shared a long time ago

that I regret sharing because there were times

that it came back to bite me.

And it was annoying, because what would happen is,

like the other couple of reasons that I said,

people would judge too much

and then they would make up stuff that really was just,

they thought they knew more than they actually did.

So the good things about being a little bit vulnerable

on the Internet, talking about your problems,

one of the main things is the fact

that you're basically letting other people know

that they're not alone.

So when I talk about being mainstreamed and feeling like

very alone, being mainstreamed, you know,

I was the only deaf person that I knew

for such a long time, besides my biological mother,

people, other people, you know, they saw other deaf people

on the Internet, like ASL deaf people on the Internet,

but they couldn't necessarily relate,

because it's different deaf experiences,

or they see another mainstreamed person

on the Internet and it's like,

"Holy crap, this is something that I can relate to."

You know, like depression, and child abuse, it's just,

sometimes it's just really nice to be able

to find somebody that has dealt with that kind of thing,

and you're not going to feel alone

and there's just somebody to connect to, connect with.

And that's actually the second point

that I was going to make, being able to relate to somebody.

I mean, I get comments quite often on various videos

of various topics, being like,

"I'm so glad that you're making videos about this,

this is something that I can relate to

and haven't been able to.

I haven't been able to find anybody that I can relate to."

And you know what, doing this type of thing,

number three, is it helps you be able to create

relationships with people, friendships with people.

I've met quite a handful of friends

that I never would've been able to make

if I wasn't doing YouTube for the past eight years.

That's a very long time, and half of that was makeup stuff,

and I don't really talk to my makeup friends

all that much anymore.

There's still a very small few,

but most of them I don't talk to anymore,

because I can't really relate anymore.

But now, you know, my other disabled friends,

people who have also had abuse,

dealt with abuse in their lives, depression, you know,

stuff like that, that has been pretty awesome.

So those are just some good things and bad things

about being vulnerable on the Internet.

If YouTube is something that you want to do,

keep these things in mind, there's always good things

and bad things about this, sometimes you don't share enough,

and sometimes you can share too much.

And you know, you deal with some hate comments

whether it be actually to you, or away from you,

but you also get a lot of really good comments,

which is something I probably should have said

along with seeing some bad comments.

Just try not to worry about the bad comments

and stick with the good ones, you know?

If you can think of any other good or bad things

about being vulnerable, sharing yourself,

putting yourself out on the Internet,

feel free to leave a comment below.

And before you go, if you haven't,

consider pledging on Patreon to support my work.

Depending on the tier that you pledge,

you get some sort of perk.

And you know, that's all good, and I'll see you later. Bye.

I Stole A Sick Fish From Walmart - Duration: 3:28.

Me and my girlfriend were driving around. We were both very upset about something, I

don't remember what it was. but we were both in the mood to do something rebellious. We

went to Walmart. A little background information...I love fish. I'm majoring in Marine Biology

soon. I have a 10 gallon tank. And I was like, "hmmm"....A little lightbulb went off and

a little voice in my head that was telling me, not to say what I was about to say. I

was just overpowered and I said, "let's just steal a fish." My girlfriend, we'll call her

Bianca, she looks and me..."What did you just say?" I said, "let's steal a fish!" She was

like, "Okay..." I don't think she though we were actually going to do it. We get to the

fish isle. I just see this ONE single Beta fish. He looked so miserable, like his

fins were all tattered. He was like just floating on his side but still like alive. and I was

like "oh my God, Bianca please?" She's like "you know what, I guess were stealing the

fish." And I'm like "Sweet!" "How are we going to go about this?" "I have an idea. Go over

to the other isle and get a box of pads." And she was like "Why". And I was like, "just

do it!" and she did it. So she took all the pads out and put them in her purse. And then

we took the container that the Beta was in and we put it in the box. I had never stolen

anything in my life. That was the first time I ever stolen something so I was a nervous

wreck. I was like. I was like shaky. I was looking around and Bianca was like, "Yeah"

and I'm like "OKAY, OKAY, OKAY!" We pay for the box of pads but NOT the fish. And uhm,

we started walking back out to her car and suddenly she's like, "where are my keys?"

"What, uh you don't have your keys?"and she's like "No I don't" and I'm like, " GREAT! AMAZING!

WONDERFUL!" So we go back into Walmart. And I'm a nervous wreck because I am a felon and

I am holding a fish in a box of pads! And so we are looking for her keys for like 30

minutes and we finally give up. We were going to go back out to her car to call her parents.

And her keys were sitting in her car! And so, we both look at each other and we get

in the car and I take out Gilbert which by the way I named Gilbert because of the gils,

out of the box and, I have never felt so proud of myself in my life because I saved a fish!

I felt so morally ambiguous. And that felt so good for some reason. It dawns on me, Idid

not ask my parents if I could have a fish. I'm like " what do I do?" SO we tried to get

the story straight that a friend gave the fish to me because at school my name is actually

"Fish Girl" because I talk about fish a lot. I get the fish home and I don't have the tank

prepared. There is no water in it. I filled a 5 gallon cheese snacks container with water.

And put him in there. S I had to cycle the whole tank for like 6 weeks and then I put

him in and you know, he's like livin' the life know! He's got plants, he's got hiding

holes, he's got plenty pf space. I feed him blood worms every week. Thats the story about

how I shoplifted a fish successfully. To this day I still haven't been caught. Don't follow

my example, I am sorry.

Trump Says Reports Of Leakers Are Fake News, Then Admits His Whole White House Leaks - Duration: 3:27.

On Tuesday Donald Trump seemed to be having a bit of a breakdown on Twitter over the fact

that he really can't trust any of the members of his staff.

He's having a problem with the leakers is what it is.

We're seeing more and more reports come out in major publications where people are speaking

to unnamed sources at the White House, and Donald Trump is obviously pissed off about

the fact that the people in his administration are telling all his dirty secrets out there

to the press.

So he took to Twitter, as he always does, and tweeted out the following: "The so-called

leaks coming out the White House are a massive over exaggeration put out by the fake news

media in order to make us look as bad as possible.

With that being said, leakers are traitors and cowards, and we will find out who they

are."

So in one tweet, in two sentences Donald Trump says that leaks are fake news.

They're totally fake.

The media is making this up.

And then literally in the next sentence admits that, "Yeah, we've got a big problem with

leakers and we're going to find out who you are.

But you're fake also."

So it leaves me wondering, is it actually fake or is it a problem that you feel needs

to be dealt with?

Because if you're admitting, as you are in the second sentence of that tweet, that these

people are leakers, then that would also mean that these reports coming out by the media

aren't exactly fake.

I mean hell, if you want us to believe that there's not a problem with leakers, then why

is it that last Friday, Sarah Huckabee Sanders had to hold a meeting about people leaking

to the press?

Yes, leakers are a big problem for your administration.

In fact, one recent interview with them when they were asked why they continue to leak

to the press, the guy said because it's like playing with matches.

You know it's dangerous but you want to do it anyway, just to see what happens.

This is what happens when you put a numbskull like Donald Trump into the White House.

He doesn't know what he's doing.

He doesn't know how to hire the right people for these political positions.

So he hires the worst of the worst, and you get people like that who just want to cause

chaos because Donald Trump wants to cause chaos in this country.

I had no sympathy for the president and all the people leaking stuff about him.

I applaud the leakers.

They're the only ones telling us what's actually happening inside of that White House, and

regardless of their reasons for doing this, this is information that the public needs

to know about.

Trump has not done a single standalone press conference with the American media.

So all we have are the leakers, because we know we're not going to get the truth out

of people like Kellyanne Conway or Sarah Huckabee Sanders or any member of the Trump cabinet.

These leakers and the anonymous sources and the people out there taking private phone

calls with The Washington Post, those are the real heroes of this administration.

They're not traitors.

They're not cowards.

They're just people who want the American public to understand the truth about what's

actually happening inside that chaotic White House.

The Deadpool Salamander - Duration: 7:37.

Hi guys, Joe here.

One of the most amazing things in nature is the… ahh...

Is that safe?

One of our lights is… it's okay?

Okay!

Where was I?

One of the most amazing things in nature is the -

[OPEN]

Crap.

That was definitely one of my two favorite arms, and now I've just got… one left.

And if there's one rule about losing an arm, it's that they don't grow back.

Unless you're this guy.

I don't mean Deadpool.

Well, I do.

But … I really mean...

…this guy.

The axolotl.

You guys remember Amber from our tuatara video?

Amber: Hi guys!

She also helps take care of axolotls!

Axolotls are salamanders, a type of amphibian.

Joe: It kind of looks like it's smiling… it's really cute.

They have happy little dopey faces.

Hi!

It's nice to meet you.

Like other amphibians, salamanders spend their first days in the water, breathing with gills

and swimming with tails.

Most amphibians lose these traits when they become adults, when they leave the water and

start breathing– with lungs or through their skin.

But axolotls spend their whole lives in the water, so they never lose juvenile traits

like those big gills.

That's right they're…

Prepare to have your mind blown.

And then regenerated.

Because axoltols can do that.

Amber: But by far the coolest thing about them is that they have the ability to regenerate

lost limbs.

In the 1700s, an Italian priest started cutting body parts off animals… kind of a weird

hobby.

He noticed starfish, flatworms… these could all regrow their arms and bodies.

Cool, but they're pretty simple invertebrates, no bones or anything like that.

When he sliced off a salamander's arm, though, he saw something shocking: It regrew the entire

arm, bones and muscles and nerves and blood vessels and everything.

Deadpool-style.

Joe: So, cut off arms, legs, eyes, mouth, tail – anything and they regrow it?

Amber: Yeah!

Perfect copies.

Joe: That is so wild.

Amber: The juvies and babies are super cannibalistic, and so if they're eating each other's

limbs, toes  – the ability to regrow them would be really helpful.

An axolotl can even regenerate half its own heart or part of its brain!

That is crazy.

In what is now Mexico, axolotls were known to the Aztecs for centuries…

Aztecs even occasionally ate them.

Amber: They're native to an underground lake: the name's a little interesting…

Joe: We're not even going to try to pronounce it.

Amber: No!

It's Xochimilco.

Joe: Xochimilco?

We'll also put it right here, so we can…

Xochimilco.

Because of the growth of Mexico City, you'll probably never see an axolotl outside of a

glass tank today.

They're almost extinct in the wild.

But biologists are studying the animals in captivity to see if their powers of regeneration

might one day help humans regrow lost body parts.

If I cut off my arm for real, it won't grow back...and I might bleed to death or get a

bad infection.

But an axolotl can regenerate without these problems.

We don't have a complete understanding of how it happens, but here's basically what

goes down:

Right after an amputation, a signal is sent to cells all over an axolotl's body telling

them to start dividing.

Next, skin cells create a living bandaid over the wound.

Now, this is *really* important for everything that comes next.

The animal can't regenerate without it.

After about a week, this bump called a blastema, pops up.

Everything that will become the new limb grows from that little nub.

New cartilage starts to form, notches show up where the digits–fingers or toes–will

go.

And six to ten weeks later the salamander has a complete limb where there was once a

stump.

Take a second and think about how cool that is.

We're talking blood vessels, nerves, muscles - everything re-connected *seamlessly*

Joe: You are a magical creature.

So, obviously yeah,  if people lose their limbs it would be cool if we could regenerate

them – Deadpool style – but we can't do that.

Amber: We can't do that.

Joe: But by studying these and how they do it, we might be able to stimulate that in

humans?

Amber: Yeah maybe we can eventually learn to do that!

Scientists think this is within reach.

Don't try this at home, but there have been cases where young children re-grew a fingertip

after an injury.

And some of our organs, like our skin, already regenerate constantly.

The secrets to axolotl-like healing might already be hidden in our own bodies… we

just have to find them.

Think about it: Before you were born, you grew a little bud, that formed a paddle, which

eventually became an arm.

The instructions to do all that are still in your DNA when you're an adult, we just

have to figure out how to turn those growth switches back on.

CU Of course, it's not easy.

There's no gene that says "arm", "finger", or "hand" and in your DNA you won't

find literal blueprints for growing a limb.

It's one of the most incredibly complex processes evolution has ever crafted, There's

dozens of genes involved in building a limb, and they don't work like instructions for

say, building furniture.

The genes work more like sheet music for an orchestra.

Different instruments play notes at different times, sometimes together, sometimes on their

own.

It's the timing and where things are played that creates the symphony, not just the sheet

music itself.

Growing a limb works in a similar way.

Dozens of genes, interacting with others, each playing tiny parts in a special order

creates the whole.

The secret to remaking an arm or a leg seems to be turning back the genetic clock to the

very youngest days of an animal's development, pausing the adult arm programming and growing

the limb like it was the first time.

And because the axolotls are "forever young" they may have a 'leg up'.

Even if we never get to the point of regrowing complete limbs, the lessons we learn studying

axolotls could help us regrow specific tissues like muscle, which is pretty awesome on its

own.

I'd like to give you a hand.

Joe: I want to say a huge thank you to my new friend, this axolotl right here.

And to amber for giving us all of the axolotl facts.

Amber: Yeah man, you sure do axolotl questions…

Joe: well, thanksalotl for answering them.

Alright, stay curious.

Trump Has Had Enough, Going To Fire Them ALL! Traitor's And Cowards Are Not Allowed In Here - Duration: 4:06.

Trump Has Had Enough, Going To Fire Them ALL!

Traitor's And Cowards Are Not Allowed In Here.

President Trump's administration is on edge as he's hinting towards a major change within

the White House after learning about recent leaks, an incident with John McCain, recent

stories from fake news media outlets reporting leaks that may or may not have been true,

and leaks, in general, that will certainly be addressed.

Numerous stories have revealed leaks and President Trump's administration is left to figure

out what leaks are legitimate and then dish out consequences to those who've been 100%

verified as a leaker.

Trump referred to people who leak information to the media or other sources as "traitors

and cowards."

There could be a huge shakeup, or shakedown, of the entire administration causing an abrupt

staffing change.

Tie this in with the phone ban that was recently an issue in the White House and we have what

could be a very juicy and gossip-filled story that might have more underlying stories than

we expect.

Whatever is brewing in the thought process of President Trump will surely be exciting

to watch unfold, as he doesn't take lightly to cowards and traitors – his own words,

of course.

Politico added this information to the situation: "Counselor to the president Kellyanne Conway

said Monday that she expects personnel changes in the White House in the wake of President

Donald Trump's latest outburst against leaks that have proved damaging to his administration.

The White House has dealt in recent days with fallout from a leaked remark from communications

staffer Kelly Sadler, who responded to Sen. John McCain's opposition to the confirmation

of Gina Haspel to be CIA director by saying it "doesn't matter, he's dying anyway."

McCain (R-Ariz.) has been away from the Senate for weeks as he receives treatment for brain

c****r.

Sadler reportedly called McCain's daughter, Meghan McCain, after the news of the comment

surfaced but has yet to make a public apology.

White House spokespeople have not denied that Sadler made the remark but have declined to

comment on it other than to say it is being dealt with internally.

On Monday, Trump wrote online that "the so-called leaks coming out of the White House

are a massive over exaggeration put out by the Fake News Media in order to make us look

as bad as possible" but added that "leakers are traitors and cowards, and we will find

out who they are!"

Asked later Monday whether, in the wake of the president's tweet, she expects personnel

changes at the White House, Conway told Fox News that "I do, actually.

Yes, I do."

She said she had spoken to the president about the subject of leaks earlier in the day.

"There are all kinds of leaks.

Some leaks exist to hurt, I guess, colleagues, some leaks exist because they disagree with

the policies that are being put forth, but none of them are helpful," Conway said.

"Something else that's gone on in this White House but not as badly as it was at

the beginning, where it's not so much leaking as using the media to shiv each other, and

that was going on quite a bit at the beginning of this administration and it's less so

now."

The problem for Trump seems to be identifying who his most trusted people are and who the

leakers are.

Then he has to decide if the leaks are relevant or real, or if they were part of a movement

to simply oust him as a bad guy.

Don't be shocked if people who seem to be the closest with Trump turn out to be the

biggest leakers.

There's the old saying of keeping your friends close, but keeping your enemies closer.

I wouldn't be shocked if it turns out that someone very close to Trump goes rogue.

Of course, I hope that would not be true because any distraction to the president only hurts

us as citizens.

When the president is unable to accomplish tasks due to nonsense such as leaks, Stormy

Daniels, and the #Resist movement, then it only hurts us all in the long run.

NASDAQ CRYPTO EXCHANGE? CONSENSUS DAY 1 COINS! NEM XEM, ZCASH ZEC, ICON ICX, BITCOIN BTC PRICE 2018! - Duration: 17:04.

what is going on guys Patrick here bringing you a brand new videotape got

another killer video for you guys full of information I'm going to be talking

about consensus icon and Z cache as well as lots of other news going on in the

cryptocurrency space but guys before we get start with that if you guys want to

enter a chance to win some free Bitcoin all you guys have to do is number one be

subscribe the channel and have your notifications turn on number two give

this video a thumbs up and number three leave a comment down below saying

something related to the video as well as leaving your Bitcoin wallet address

you guys can leave as many comments down below as you want and I will do my best

to answer every single one of them for the guys who have one of the previous

giveaways in the last few days I'm going to be sending you all of your

cryptocurrency today I'm sorry for the delay

it was really really busy but I'm going to be sending that today but let's jump

right into this I want to start off with some fantastic news Bitcoin could emerge

as a threat to US dollar in the future suggest st. Louis Fed chief so a top US

policy maker made mostly positive remarks about Bitcoin also not ruling it

out as a potential threat to the US dollar in an interview with CNBC this

was held May 14th which was yesterday so guys I want to start off with this

because we know this is the point cryptocurrency is going towards this is

what it's trying to do is try to change the financial industry as well as also

blockchain helping out a lot of other companies a lot of companies we've

already seen implement blockchain related patents to improve the way that

their company works in certain aspects of their company but overall

cryptocurrency itself especially big coin was made to try and take down the

US dollar and other currencies and just turn into a worldwide creep of worldwide

currency that we can use obviously a worldwide of a worldwide digital

currency that we can use and I'd love to see more and more people get on board

and I'd love to remind you guys that this is only the beginning and that we

are all early adopters in this in in this new movement in this yeah just the

new movement so second thing I want to talk about is pretty huge where I spend

a little more time on this so kripp the first crypto exchange using Nasdaq's

technology announces a launch include it's going to exclude US customers

though keep that in so the first crypto currency exchange to

use US stock giant Nasdaq's technology revealed it it plans to launch next

month this was again announced yesterday on Monday May 14th

so Nasdaq being the second largest Stock Exchange in the world by market cap just

behind the new york stock exchange exchange which has actually also been

recently talking about a potential crypto or a potential big point of

potentially listing Bitcoin so we've had Nasdaq talk about potentially listing

big point we've had the New York Stock Exchange do that now if that happens

that is going to be absolutely huge this however is using Nasdaq's

technology in order to build their own exchange so Nasdaq is providing the

technology to power the new centralized crypto exchange DX now keep in mind it

is centralized so this is a piece of good and also a piece of bad news

because I do think decentralized exchanges are what our work or what are

going to continue to make improvements that's why I mentioned it not too long

in another video I mentioned another decentralized exchange which I started

to invest in because I thought they were going to do well but this is a start and

this is going to expose cryptocurrency to a lot more people so in the short run

I don't mind there being a centralized exchange if it means more and more

people are gonna hear about a more more people are going to get more confident

when it comes to cryptocurrency and therefore more and more people are going

to invest and we're gonna get an influx of money entering the market that is

fine by me because that will mean prices are going to increase so it's going to

be a one-stop-shop for exchanging fiat and crypto holding coins as well as

wallet services so it's gonna be pretty in-depth obviously using knives next

technology and with the money that they have available they were going to do

something pretty good now according to the report DX will not charge fees for

trading and will open trading with the markets top six crypto currencies

including Bitcoin Bitcoin cash is theorem and light point now if we're

gonna factor in the other two that would be ripple and I believe yo s yeah ripple

at EOS would be the other two if it is just the top o 9 to the top five if it

is the top six yeah so we'd have a light coin ripple yeah those would be the top

six that they're going to do and in the second

stage they're going to reportedly add 20 to 25 more cryptocurrencies making it

available to change Fiat to crypto now when they're saying exchanging Fiat to

crypto are they is they only gonna be Fiat to the bigger kryptos are we going

to be able to exchange Fiats for Tron for example because that would be

something that we've been waiting for but from finance and from all the other

cryptocurrency exchange that these guys might have been able to do now they do

say we are supporting blockchain technology and the way we can help this

ecosystem to progress and there were the way you can help this ecosystem to

progress is by betting the tokens and making sure the good ones are promoted

we are not going to list poins just because they pay us those who are worthy

will be list now that is something I think it's great to hear that there

isn't going to be any form of payment for you to be able to get on there it's

going to come down to who they deem are good projects that are going to thrive

and they're trying to use this to support blockchain technology so like I

said in the long term having a centralized exchange might not be

everyone's favorite thing but guys think about it in the short run this is going

to expose cryptocurrency to a lot more people and this is what I'm talking

about when I mean some steps to mass adoption we have to you know be

realistic and take baby steps when it comes to wanting everyone on board we

can't expect everyone to get on a decentralized exchange right away so now

let's take a look at the market cap we have more four hundred eight billion

dollar market cap 36.6% bitcoin dominance so things are actually looking

a lot better today than they have in the last few days things are up we have big

point of 3.8% we the theory of up 3.5% we also have some very big movers

actually Dash's up 11.6% and V chain is up almost 12% there in classic an icon

built up over 10% and it way keeps going down we have Z cash up 42% out guys I

would not then this is not financial advice I'm not a financial adviser but I

would not invest in Z cash right now it is up way too much for me to be

comfortable putting money into it although I think it is a great project

and there is a reason it's not just a pump and dump there is a reason to why

it is up and we're going to cover that a second I think it is up way too much

for me to want to FOMO in and so in order to play it safe

I'm not going to be buying in and I would recommend not not financially

advise but I would recommend you guys think about doing the same

anyways let's talk about consensus a little bit first day one consensus

happened yesterday everything apparently went super well there was record

attendees you know they raised they managed to make a ton of money off of

ticket sales and there were a ton of great projects there from the people I

know who are there that were mentioning it they mentioned I want to talk about

three specifically that I heard we're doing very big things we're doing very

good now a lot of these new product not only did they have existing products

obviously like litecoin was there and Charlie Lee was speaking but they also

had icos and what's happening is a lot of these I

SEOs are getting filled in presale and I'm not even going to the public sale

anymore where you and I can get involved it's being sold out to like venture

capitalists or angel investors all in the presale which is kind of annoying is

it make it's gonna make it harder for a you and I to get into the top top icos

but at the same time it is showing the how many how many more people are

looking at ICS that are looking at new projects to make a difference that I

can't help but be happy overall for the direction the cryptocurrency space is

going now another thing they notice is that a lot of new and big developers are

coming into cryptocurrency people from Google Apple Amazon you know Microsoft

all of these huge huge tech companies are seeing developers are aware scene

developers from them come into the blockchain space and start to help build

there and that is the foundation of an all-star team is having people with

experience from very very reputable places and so things are looking very

very good now if you guys want to watch day 2 again make sure to go on over to

coin desk slash event slash consensus 2018 just type in consensus 2018 on

Google and then you can watch live and see everything that is going on but

overall guys I'm very happy to hear where things are going consensus I'm

very bummed out that I couldn't make it but I do want to share with you guys

some of the stuff that I picked up from talking to people so you guys can gain

some knowledge as well so obviously make sure do your own research before

investing I know it's hard because we're not seeing the actual tests and the beta

tests of things that are going on there but from what I've heard nem is making

some very very big plays we have a on here who was at 52 in market cap pretty

small compared to some of the other cryptocurrency 422 million dollar market

cap not yet at a billion a on apparently is doing some very big things and lastly

power ledger actually had a private section where they were hosting their

Beynon showing how things work so part of our ledger ranked at 99th in market

cap 186 dollar market cap might be a pretty good investment I have some I

definitely am looking to pick up more especially with this good news now

moving on from consensus talk a little bit about some of the cryptocurrencies

they have some big news happening one I want to talk about is icon so icon for

those of you who don't know is the Korean in theory and it's at a 1.6 a

billion dollar market cap ranked 19th overall in market cap with a 4.3 dollar

per icon or per icx now take a look at their chart obviously it's following

what's been happening to the market recently no surprise but they have had a

list of major partnerships and that is what's helping it go up today and break

the previous resistance that it had obviously the last few days caused it to

correct back down but I do see in achieving the $5 mark coming relatively

soon now who did they partner with is what you guys are probably asking so if

we do look through the article they are partnering with the leading electronic

and mobile phone developer Samsung that's right Samsung is well-known for

the fact that it's created a global brand for itself

competing with the likes of Apple so the partnership is big news for Ikon and

also means a lot for its technology so icons chain ID will now be adopted into

Samsung's latest project dubbed Samsung past so guys a party with Samsung

is absolutely huge but it doesn't stop there so the Korean financial investment

blockchain consortium has been working with icx to make the chain.i jeep the

chain ID project a success so that's and that's more backing that they have and

that's more people helping them out sort of a partnership but not exactly the

same level as Samsung but that's not it again there is more so from other news

icons also acquired another partnership this time with a social media platform

line plus the platform has over 200 million users average every month from

across the world the platform is also a co-founder of Unchained and is working

on building lines of blockchain network the collaboration will with icon will

help unchain to overcome to come up with different dab services at the same time

creating synergies therefore expanding the blockchain ecosystem so so much news

going on for icon and that has caused the price to move a decent amount of

almost 11 percent today as we saw compared to some of the other crypto

currencies that were up three to four this is definitely up significantly more

in that being one of the reasons these huge huge partnerships that are coming

up now let's talk a little bit about Z cash as well because Z catches up 44%

and know a lot of you guys are gonna ask me what's going on now it's actually

pretty big news that I've been hearing since yesterday but Z cash is up after

it gets listed on Gemini exchange those of you who don't know Gemini exchange is

owned by the Winklevoss twins so very popular twins very very rich twins and

very very early adopters into cryptocurrency these guys are on it when

it comes to tech and to you know the next big thing they have been involved

in a lot of it be it good or bad but basically Gemini exchange has been

closely working with the New York state of financial services to obtain their

approval to offer Z cash to their customers this approval makes Gemma in

the first license e cash exchange in the world and makes NY s DF s the first

regulatory agency in the world to supervise z'castle guys C cash out xx

rank 23 one point four billion dollar market cap 366 and does have a very low

circulating supply what that's why it costs so much but guys that's huge huge

punch you guys can see it actually all the way back here January October 29

2016 it was worth four thousand two hundred and ninety three and that's why

it's so difficult to look at the chart but if we do just exclude that and movie

like this we can see more of what the chart should look like in the last few

months and kind of similar to what the market has looked like and other crypto

currencies have looked like except for this little the little peep we have

right here which is from the last few days it went from being worth $250

yesterday to being worth three hundred and sixty six dollars today that is more

than $100 gained per Seacat so that is actually insane and congratulation so

the Winklevoss twins for Dib being the first licensed Zee cash exchange that's

really cool but big big news for them and like I said before though I'm not

gonna be buying in right now it is up way too much for me to be comfortable

investing in and the news is already been out for a day and a half now I

don't know how much more this is going to pump now long-term Z cash is really

cool and I think the idea of it is really really good so I have talked

about it previously in other videos is what we're I mentioned this Z cash is

pretty solid it's a pretty solid project so I do think it's good it does have its

place it's going to continue to grow so if that if that's what you're looking at

then if one might not be a terrible investment soon I do think we might have

a little bit of a correction because it is up 40 70 percent I don't know if it's

gonna just level off and move sideways from here it might we might have a

little bit of a correction first before it looks it looks like a good

opportunity to get in but of course I'm not financial advisor so I can't tell

you guys what to do I'm just telling you guys what I would do in this situation

now let's end the video off with the technical analysis like we always do

basically it looks like we're trying to break up the resistance now of 8800 we

dipped under it we actually broke down below it to the 50-day moving average

now it's looking like it has become a resistance

for us and we are bouncing we bounce on we bounce yesterday off of it it ended

with a red candle but not much of a decision candle here doesn't really look

like anything in particular it just kind of looks like the it tried the day of

the day tried to go down to the 50-day moving average again it tried to go up

to the resistance but it didn't end up doing anything out today it looks like

we are getting closer to the resistance although we do have a tweak on top of

the candlestick it does look like we are moving closer which is what we saw

already being up three to four percent on average on most crypto currencies

obviously excluding some of those we talked about that are up a ton but guys

I'm excited to see if we do trade sideways here for a little bit but you

guys know consensus is going on a lot of big projects keep in mind things are not

gonna moon on the first day of consensus not how things work consensus these

projects all these crypto is the new ICL's they're showing what is going on

what they're working on though the the where it's at it's where it's where it's

at in the development stages what the beta looks like that is all being shown

and so then people are gonna go home or take it to you know if it's if it's a

private investor so they're gonna go home and think about it if it's an

happen instantly so calm down I know the first day of consensus we have a great

that's a lot but I do think we're gonna have solid coming days but wait for the

money to come in we need people to first think about what they've seen that

consensus day one and then look at putting money in they're not just gonna

throw money in without thinking about it so guys that's gonna be it for this

BJJ: A basic defense against a back attack - Duration: 1:58.

(rock music)

Okay guys.

Let's work for one of the escapes for the back.

My opponent

has both hands under my armpits,

controlling the lapel.

The first thing I do is, I lock it.

I'm not even waiting for him to move over his other hand

on my neck.

So, the moment he has the control, right away,

Lock my hands.

Choose one side to fall.

Okay.

Start turning down.

And now, lock it tight his arms, especially the bottom one.

Okay?

The top one, I can release the pressure a little bit

if you want.

So the moment he starts to come in to attack my neck,

that moment I use to start to escape.

Okay? Here. Turn.

The problem with that on top,

is it's easy for the guy on the back to finish on top.

But at least, he's not on the back anymore.

Try to finish in a head guard, full guard.

THE BOSS: Putin Drives Kamaz Truck, Afterwards Gives Inspiring Speech; WATCH UNTIL THE END! - Duration: 15:10.

Congratulations!

Thank you.

The first part, not even part but the most important road.

I don't doubt that you will do everything and finish the truck section in autumn

and in one year time the railway section, everything with the highest quality and within the timeline.

Half a year before the deadline (they finished the motorway section). Excellent, you are great, thank you very much.

We did our best.

Let's go!

Good afternoon, dear friends.

My sincere congratulations on this wonderful historical event.

This is a truly historic day because in different historical eras, including during the tsars' reign, people dreamed of building this bridge.

They came back to it in the 1930s, then the 1940s and the 1950s.

Finally, thanks to your hard work and talents, this project, this miracle has come true. Thank you very much.

I want to thank this project's organisers, who, without exaggeration, put national interests above their personal and collective needs.

I want to thank the bomb disposal engineers, who were the first to start working here, as we have just mentioned,

as well as the environmentalists, archaeologists, scientists, designers, engineers and construction workers.

More than 10,000 people are working at this construction site, and at peak times the number exceeded 15,000.

Almost 220 contractor companies are involved. In fact, the whole country worked on this bridge.

This is an excellent result that has made Crimea and the legendary Sevastopol stronger and brought us closer.

The bridge will mean faster and greater progress for the economy of Crimea and Sevastopol, and will improve the quality of life here.

We will continue to work on similar projects across the country.

And when I say across the country, I mean it. We will build more roads, bridges, airports and ports.

We will make our peoples' lives better and more comfortable.

And we will succeed by all means because we have outstanding and talented people like you.

Congratulations to everybody and good luck.

Thank you.

You are the best people and the best builders. Thank you very much.

Insane Cliff Jumping - A How-To Guide with Robert Wall in Lake Tahoe - Duration: 3:37.

"Hey, get ready right now, dude."

"He can drop any second."

"Three, two, one!"

"Oh, shit!"

"You alright? You good?"

"Yeah."

"What happened?"

"Dude, that was so sketch."

"Dude, I just slipped!"

"That was me landing literally right there."

"This thing is so gnarly."

"So much bigger than I thought."

"After slipping on that rope swing

and narrowly avoiding rocks,

it's really hard to come back from something like that."

"Especially mentally."

"Obviously, being a cliff jumper, we acknowledge that there are risks involved."

"On this particular Tahoe trip, it just seemed like all the

spots we were going to were just sketchy in general."

"Whether it came to the take off, you know, having loose rock

or there just being a small, little, narrow gap we have to land into."

"A little intimidating with the rocks on the far side

as far as reaching out too far."

"Yeah, the bottom down there is super narrow,

so you gotta like land in this little tiny pocket."

"Part of that is taking the necessary precautions

to know that we're gonna be safe

like checking the water for depth,

measuring the cliff to know the exact height,

and once it's good to go, you just gotta step up and do it."

"When we first started jumping it, Emigrant Gap,

you can tell that everyone was playing it safe, a little bit cautious,

but once we got warmed up, it actually turned into a really fun session

and everyone's confidence went way up."

"The second spot we went to actually had a lot bigger landing area

which was perfect because we got to expand our

bag of tricks and really start throwing down."

"Tensions were super high going back to that rope swing."

"Especially after what happened."

"But, you just gotta be able to put that behind you

and just really zone in on the moment

and concentrate on what's happening right now."

"After everyone killed it, it's nice to go out, relax a little bit,

be happy that everyone came back safe,

and just be stoked on another successful weekend."

"Is it Saturday yet?"

"Yeah, it's Saturday."

What is Déjà vu and Why Do We Experience It - Duration: 4:54.

What is Dj vu and Why Do We Experience It

By Dylan Harper

Have you ever experienced a feeling of Dj vu?

Dj vu is a French expression, which means already seen, It is commonly used

to indicate a phenomenon that happens in the brain.

The term was used for the first time by Emile Boirac, a researcher of psychological phenomena.

It is a word also used in the manuals of neurology, psychology, and biology, assuming several

meanings.

However, there are different dubious theories, such as those of past lives, supernatural

appearances, and common sense, that appear to mystify the phenomenon.

So Dj vu is when we feel something for the first time, and we have the sensation

of having already seen or experienced that sensation before, or rather, it is a replay

of some scene or moment, but that never happened.

Dj vu arises when a specific memory, for some unknown reason, goes to memory in

the long run, without passing through the memory in the short term.

Some scientists believe that this phenomenon is triggered by a neurochemical action in

the brain, which is not connected to any past experience.

Freuds explanations help us understand Dj vu, he states: All phenomena within

the psyche are determined, that is, as long as we investigate, we will find the cause

of associations.

External phenomena, on the other hand, are a mixture of other causes and accidents.

In other words, what happens outside of us will not necessarily mean anything.

These assumptions confirm the explanation that Dj vu manifests itself in a psychological

reaction to the transmission of ideas that we have been in those places before, that

we have already seen those people, but not knowing for sure where, how and when we live

in such a situation.

Freud sums up: In succinct terms, Dj vus feeling corresponds to the memory of

an unconscious fantasy.

Thus, psychoanalysis understands that Dj Vu is that content which is felt by consciousness,

which is an unconscious content that, at another moment, passed through knowledge in a dream

or in daily fantasy.

Because of repression, content is no longer available to knowledge, except when it happens.

Dj vu occurs in about 60% of the world population, as a vision of the future, since

the phenomenon occurs only in exact moments, and never in previous situations, that lasts

from 10 to 30 seconds and soon submerge.

One example is the 23-year-old British man who has experienced episodes of dj vu

for eight years, a frequency that has intrigued scientists.

The researchers doubt that the problem has been triggered by excessive anxiety.

The young man had to avoid watching television, listening to the radio and reading newspapers,

because he always had the feeling of having lived those stories before.

At last Dj vu is an experience based on the various types of memory, such as direct

memory, a short memory that lasts a few hours and mind of the near future, lasting for months

or even years, thus giving the sensation that the fact already occurred earlier.

To understand the functioning of dj-vu, researchers at the University of St. Andrews

in Great Britain decided to proceed with a groundbreaking experiment in trying to provoke

this sensation of replay in the laboratory.

After all, in a typical situation, there is no way to predict when the Dj vu sensation

will occur, which made it difficult for scientists to analyze the brain reactions involved in

the process

To the surprise of the researchers, the brain mapping of the participants showed that dj-vu

sensation activated the frontal areas of the brain, which are areas involved in the decision-making

process.

Initially, they anticipated that regions associated with memory, such as the hippocampus, would

be activated with the Deja vu.

But that did not happen.

This means that the phenomenon is not a replay, but the brain showing that the memory check

system is working well and that you are unlikely to forget something or confuse past events.

3 Things We Still Don't Understand About the Milky Way - Duration: 5:42.

Thanks to Brilliant.org for supporting SciShow Space.

[ ♪ Intro ]

The Milky Way is our home, so you'd think we'd know a lot about it.

And we do.

But a whole galaxy is a pretty big place, so there's still plenty of weird stuff that

we're trying to figure out.

And that's the cool stuff!

So, here are three questions scientists are still trying to puzzel out.

One is our galaxy's shape.

We know that we live in a spiral galaxy, with long, sweeping arms packed with stars.

But why's it like that?

After all, stars form from a fog of gas and dust called the interstellar medium, or ISM.

And the ISM is everywhere within the galaxy, so why do stars congregate in the arms?

Well, we don't totally know -- but we're making progress.

One clue comes from structures called filaments that astronomers in the 1980s started to find

at the cores of some galactic arms.

Filaments are dense regions of the ISM that are incredibly thin, up to a hundred times

longer than they are wide.

They can stretch for hundreds of light-years but, weirdly, seem to exist on all size scales,

kind of like a fractal.

Together, they form a sort of galactic skeleton for the Milky Way, providing ingredient-rich

places for new stars to form.

The European Space Agency's Herschel Space Observatory has even found filaments connecting

all the closest star forming regions!

But exactly how many of these structures there are and how they play a role around here is

still up for debate.

That's not the only mystery our galaxy's stars present.

As astronomers have mapped out the positions and speeds of nearby stars more accurately,

they've found they're less predictable than expected.

Instead of mostly circling in a flat plane, a research group discovered in 2012 that many

stars seem to be moving up or down about 10% as fast as they're circling the galactic center.

When mapped out at large scale, the Milky Way's stars even seem to be rippling with waves.

Studying these waves is called galactoseismology and, like the study of seismic waves here

on Earth, it may reveal clues about unseen events.

The waves are probably the result of a big collision with the Milky Way... but where's the collider?

Researchers aren't sure, but they think there are two likely possibilities, both of

which would've happened about 100 million years ago.

One's kind of standard: an interaction between our galaxy and one of its many satellite galaxies.

The other, though, is really cool: It's possible that the Milky Way collided with

a massive dark matter structure, and its gravity stirred up all those stars.

Although we can't see dark matter, we know it's all around us, especially near our

galaxy's outer edges.

But just because we can't find the culprit, doesn't mean it's gotta be dark matter.

Whatever the collision was, its trajectory probably carried the other object to a place

beyond the galactic core and basically out of sight from Earth.

There's also at least one piece of evidence suggesting a dwarf galaxy might've been

the culprit instead.

Astronomers have found a few stars traveling so fast that they couldn't have come from

our galaxy, so they might have been knocked loose during that big collision.

Either way, we'll have to work fast to figure this out because those waves of stars will

probably disappear in another hundred million years.

Then again, maybe we won't have to work that fast after all.

Finally, stars aren't the only thing traveling weirdly fast around here.

For decades, astronomers have observed a few clouds of gas moving at strangely high velocities

-- up to 90 kilometers per second faster than the stuff around them.

At that speed, it would take only a year and a half to travel from the Sun out to Neptune!

Always on the lookout for a clever name, researchers call them high-velocity clouds.

These clouds are mostly found in the outer, halo region of the Milky Way, and they're

often observed to have a low metallicity, or abundance of heavier elements.

And they're not small, either: They can contain millions of times more material than

the Sun and span tens of thousands of light-years.

Scientists have four main ideas about where they might have come from:

[yawn ort] The oldest hypothesis, proposed by famous

astronomer Jan Oort, suggests that the clouds might be the far-flung leftovers of the process

that formed the Milky Way.

With only the weakest gravitational pull affecting them, that far-off material would've taken

billions of years to get here, speeding up along the way.

Another idea is that -- because they do have such low metallicity -- high velocity clouds

are the remnants of an ancient collision between the Milky Way and another galaxy.

Hey, where have we heard that before?

A related hypothesis is that the material is made up of gas stolen gravitationally from

a satellite galaxy.

That seems especially likely for the clouds found in the southern hemisphere, which is

in the direction of the Magellanic Clouds, our closest galactic neighbors.

One last idea is that these clouds actually came from the Milky Way all along.

Perhaps a powerful supernova explosion hurled them away from the galaxy's disk, only for

gravity to claw them back before they could fully escape.

There's even a chance different clouds could have different origin stories.

To figure that out, astronomers are studying the composition of each cloud in detail.

If they were created in different ways, there might be a signature of their home still waiting

to be detected.

We'll just have to wait for the results.

We don't yet know the answers to any of these Milky Way mysteries or many others out there.

But put them all together and our galaxy suddenly seems a lot less isolated and our cosmic neighborhood

a lot busier.

Just watch out for any flying galaxies.

One place within the milky way where we can figure out the answers to big questions relatively

quickly is Brilliant.org.

Inspired by these existing questions about the milky way, I'm working on the Dark Matter quiz.

Leading up to it was a lesson and quiz on the fate of the universe that I looked through

to prep, but this starts off pretty easy.

So this question wants to know what is the dominant source of mass in our solar system.

So the Sun!

So I got it right and so did 72% of the other people in the Brilliant community.

Which is a neat thing about Brilliant because you can see how you did but also see how other

people did when they answered the question.

I think what sets Brilliant apart from other education sites is this community aspect.

On Brilliant you can answer questions that other people have submitted or you can even

submit your own questions to be answered.

So check it out for yourself and let us know if you submit a question and I'll try to solve it.

you

titanium condensers and so if we look at these here's a couple of XL titanium

condensers here is an XL stainless condenser and get them both so you can

see them if you look real carefully you can see that there's just a slight

difference in sheen okay the stainless condenser which is the one

in this hand he's a little bit more of a bright silver whereas the titanium one

is a little bit more of a we'll call it a very faint bronzes hue okay other ways

that we can kind of differentiate the difference is I'm gonna drop them and

we'll see how good the mics are if we can actually pick up the difference so

if we just kind of listen there's the titanium and there's the stainless we

can hear a slight difference in pitch I'll do it again just so you can kind of

hear it a little higher a little bit lower one of you musically inclined

people can hopefully tell me or give me some inclination in terms of which range

and what the specific pitch is that would be pretty cool all I know is they

sound different from one other on top of that let's do something else that's fun

got my trusty little torch here let's uh do something that titanium is really

good for let's change the color

there we go

we'll give this one a little bit extra hot so you can see purple in there

so you can kind of see the got that in focus now see that almost like a bluish color

you're gonna get a lot more coloration on the titanium when you heat it so one

of the fun things you can do with your titanium condensers is we can just add a

little bit of color add a few stripes and just color things in make make them

a little bit more interesting nice little bright stripe there if you get

the temperature just right you can get one of my favorite kind of purple type

colors so it tends to change more like a goldish color first and then it'll

transition into some of the Reds and the purples really excited to finally be

able to offer these to everyone they are like we really aim to do with most of

our components completely backwards compatible with effectively any

stainless steel condenser that we've ever made so even if you have one of the

first devices that we made a long long time ago with the stainless steel

condenser no problem swapping out with one of the titanium ones same length the

inside diameter is very ever so slightly smaller because we needed a slightly

thicker wall thickness in order to make sure everything would be structural but

at the same time just because of the significant reduction in overall density

between stainless steel and titanium they still weigh less do the titanium

condensers perform differently well is titanium different than stainless

absolutely is it going to perform differently well the answer is yes it is

but how different is it really going to be and that's gonna kind of depend on

you is the the owner and how you're gonna use your device in terms of

whether or not the difference is going to be significant or if it's gonna be

subtle the actual difference in performance I'm gonna speculate is going

to be not very noticeable for most people because again the overall

dimensions aren't much different and even though the titanium has much less

mass the mass differential is in the tenths of a gram range so it's not a

huge thing but at the same time it still is different and it does give us the

ability to now upgrade our devices so we have that

titanium vapor path from the tip all the way through the exit of our devices
