A rumble sounds on the African savannah.

The matriarch speaks, urging the herd to leave the watering hole.

But the message reaches more than her own kin.

Other elephants, too far off for the sound to reach their ears, get the message, too...

...with their feet.

A half hour's march away, a rival matriarch directs her own clan to the watering hole

now that she knows it's free.

A roving, solitary bull starts to move towards the matriarch's call too, hoping to find

a mate.

Scientists call this seismic communication.

It's how the world's largest land animals keep tabs on each other in a place where eyes

and ears aren't always enough.

With vocal chords eight times the size of ours, elephants send out two types of sound

waves at once.

There are the high frequency ones.

Those travel quickly through the air and land on the ear.

They only go a short distance, about a mile or so.

The second are low-frequency waves.

They move through the earth, and travel much further -- at least 5 or 6 miles.

When elephants sense one of these low rumbles, they halt, and press their heavily-padded

feet to the ground.

That padding, a huge ball of fat called a digital cushion, spreads out as much as 20

percent.

Dozens of touch receptors in the elephant's foot, called Pacinian corpuscles, pick up

these vibrations and send a signal to brain.

But hold up, is that hearing or is it feeling?

Well, turns out the line between those two senses is pretty fuzzy.

Scientists think ground vibrations also travel through the elephant's skeleton, all the

way to the ear.

That's how feeling becomes hearing.

Caitlin O'Connell researches hearing at the Stanford University School of Medicine.

In a series of experiments in Namibia, she buried speakers in the ground.

Then she played common elephant calls, to see what would happen.

When this herd hears an alarm call played from an above-ground speaker, it means danger

is close, they retreat.

But when the same call is played underground, they react more slowly.

They grow wary and close ranks -- but stay put.

When the elephants get the message through their feet only, it means the danger is far

away.

Even an elephant's footsteps transmit useful information about its size and whereabouts

to other elephants.

holds a whole community together.

Oh, you should eat legumes. You should eat beans because they're super healthy and contain lots of mineral as well

They might contain the minerals, but they also contain so much phytic acid that you can't get access to the minerals

this studies was actually done on broiler chickens and it showed that the fight a ingestion over 48 hour period caused increased excretion of

multiple minerals amino acids sulfur nitrogen and

sialic acid

This talks about how phytic acid renders many essential minerals to be poorly bioavailable

It also talks about the mechanism and even talks about how can bind to proteins in certain pH levels

The study right here showed that phytic acid had a 79 percent decrease in zinc absorption compared to the control on page

212 of this book right here

We see that that the basically state the fact about the strong chelating effect of phytic acid and they show that it forms

insoluble compounds with a lot of essential minerals including copper cobalt magnesium manganese zinc calcium and iron

Now here in this study. We see that they talked about

The very significant inhibition of zinc absorption along with inhibiting manganese absorption

so in this study, they proved a dose-dependent effect of phytic acid on

inhibiting the absorption of magnesium

So here we go

They talked a bit about the chemistry with a colorimetric study with several minerals and their binding potential anok acid

In this one, it shows that the effects of the phytates

With a different number of phosphorus still had inhibitory effects on iron absorption

This study looked at the effect of phytic acid and the diet of people throughout China and concluded that it does have an inhibitory

effect on iron zinc and calcium absorption so ever seeing these patterns

I mean this stuff's proven over and over and over again the study showed that phytic acid given two piglets inhibited the apparent ileal

Digestibility of magnesium and sodium due to the increasing of endogenous losses of these minerals. So the electrolyte

Efficiencies so study was shown to cause an increase in excretion of minerals nitrogen and amino acids similar one above

However, this one had a sample size twice as large. So, you know, there's two major studies showing the same exact thing

So by consuming phytic acid your body starts to very much excrete some very important things

So this study shows that phytate is a potent inhibitor of zinc which we are you have seen iron

Which we've seen many times now and calcium which we've also seen many times in this study shows that sweet potatoes

Outperformed the maize based mix when compared when they were comparing mineral absorption of zinc iron and calcium

So it does look like unfortunately the you know since corn has a much higher

phytic acid content than tubers like sweet potatoes that

You know, it's does also inhibit mineral absorption. It's kind of sucks because corn tastes good

But you know and I gotta go with the facts here

So studies shows the inhibition right here

we're gonna look at some other some other things other than just those minerals because

Obviously, I mean the research is pretty obvious that it

Inhibits all those minerals over and over and over again. So let's look at some other stuff

So this study shows the inhibition of trypsin, which is a proteolytic enzyme from just low levels of phytic acid

Consumption in this one. We see a reduction in the effectiveness of amylase alpha when exposed to this phytic acid

Which definitely makes a lot of sense since the the plants wouldn't actually want to be able to be digested

So this phytic acid is a defense mechanism. I've talked about this before I've talked about this in the veggie myth video

The plants have defense mechanisms to protect the mineral content in in the plant

It makes it in de Geste Belen humans, you know in a lot of cases. So this studies showed that sodium

Phytate actually decreased the pepsin activity in the digestion of protein

so it's gonna you know this just uh

Basically hurting your gut essentially this studies showed a dose-dependent manner of phytate causing inhibition of lipase activity

So we're seeing a lot of these these enzyme

Kind of counter actions. So the phytic acid is also working against these enzymes

So in this one, you can see in the results that there's actually a good increase in the inhibition of pepsin again as phytic acid

Increase is increased. The consumption is increased this one showed an inhibitory effect of

phytic acid on alpha amylase and proteases

again, all these these

Enzymes these important enzymes are being inhibited by the phytic acid

This study showed an increased excretion of phosphorus

And also talked about the adverse effects on protein utilization because the phytic acid consumption

Here's another study showing the inhibition slowing of starch digestion by the addition of phytic acid

This link actually has a really good table of percentages of phytate for certain foods in dry weight

Here, you know we see some just you know a couple WebMD things

We got if you look at the side effects of zinc deficiency, cuz obviously phytic acid causes zinc deficiency

Also, I talked a lot about this in my book mastery tea about the reproductive hormone effects of having zinc deficiencies

Very very key mineral to have in the correct quantities same with iron. Here's some iron deficiency side effects

Here's some magnesium deficiency side effects

calcium deficiency side effects manganese deficiency side effects copper deficiency side effects and

Cobalt efficiency side effects. So these are all blocked by phytic acid phytic acid is not a good thing and again,

Like I said earlier phytic acid the most the foods that contain the most phytic acid

Are beans brown rice nuts soy and seeds

The stuff ain't good people stop eating it. So at this point you're probably a bit confused

I mean, I know this is the kind of information that rocks people's world

Like if they find out that all the major foods that they've been eating

Actually contain these anti nutrients they contain things like mineral key leaders

like phytic acid which are stripping their body of the essential vitamins and minerals that it needs if this can cause a lot of confusion

It's almost like it's flipping your world upside down

What you thought you knew is actually bad for you

So what I did is I've seen these patterns

I know exactly how to bring people's body back into a state of great health and I built a framework around two things

So this framework basically is how to eat to optimize your micronutrients

So you don't have any micronutrient deficiencies at all?

That your body has all the raw materials

It needs to function from the cellular all the way up to the full organism level

Metabolically and hormonal E. And then this framework this diet framework actually helps you bring your body back into a state of hormonal balance

So what I did

was identified the three major

Summer Wedding Cakes Design Collaborative with The Lovely Baker - Duration: 11:13.

Hi everybody its Lorelie from Wedding Cakes For You. And today I'm sharing with

you my summer wedding cake collaboration, which I did with Charity of The Lovely

Baker check out her summer collaboration cake. I cannot wait to see it.

I'll see you in a minute because I'm gonna show you how I made this cake.

For all three of the cakes I put down first a layer of buttercream. And this is my Italian

meringue. I'll put a link to this recipe for you this is a great recipe and it's

delicious and you can use it for everything. And for this particular cake

the filling is going to be a raspberry. Now I'm using frozen

raspberries here. You can use fresh. I sometimes use fresh sometimes use frozen,

it depends if I can get really good fresh ones I'll go with the fresh if not

I'd go with a frozen, because they're really sweet and they're a little bit

more reliable actually than the fresh.

Just want to seal the raspberries. Now the cake is my orange cake which you

can find in my book Wedding Cakes with Lorelie Step by Step and that's at Amazon.

The next step is crumb coating the cakes.

I like to work from the top down, and then just give it a thin layer.

Now for the tiny tear

Getting ready to put my cake together and I found this plate actually in a

thrift shop, and I really love this. Just attracted me, the colors and the flowers,

and I thought this would be really pretty on the side of a cake. So this is

going to be my theme. I actually already have green buttercream and I

have the exact right color of the red, which I'm going to do different

variations of the color.

So let's get started.

So basically I'm going to do this around the entire cake, on the bottom. I'm not

sure yet what I'm doing in the next two tiers, but for this, I'm using green and a

very small round tip.(#1 round) I think it's a I'm not sure of the number but I will put

that in the description box. And then I've got red, a dark red with a very

small rose tip. And then I've got a lighter

red with a pink with a curved flower tip. And I also have yellow. So I just need a

little tiny bit of yellow to put in the centers. Paintbrushes. I just have a

couple different size paintbrushes and you can use either end. I use

this end to put the little red dots on. and also the yellow in the centers. And

you can use the brush to add a little bit of dimension

to the flowers. All right enjoy the decorating.

The various tips that I used for this video are the rose tip number 101 and

Wilton, number 59 also will Wilton, a round number 1 for the stems, 18 for the star

for the border. I used that on the top cake and on the middle tier. Then I use

22 on the bottom tier to make the rosettes and number 70 which is a leaf

Tools & Supplies | Video Workbench: The Scale Model Show - Duration: 19:03.

- Hello and welcome.

I'm here to help you get started with tools and supplies

in regard to the hobby of building model kits.

If you're just starting out or rediscovering the hobby,

I will try to help you with some

beginning learning curve tricks.

I'm gonna start with the basics.

Materials and tools, what I used and where I got them.

So, for you out there thinking about

braving the crazy world of model kit building,

here are the materials and tools

I currently use and had started with.

Just to let you know,

there's no set order to buy your materials.

Go by the instructions of the model kit you are building.

It will help you out with the

materials and tools that you will need for that project.

Everything else that you will need will come over time.

Be patient and always be willing to learn.

Going by those two rules will

make you an all around better model kit builder.

Let's get started.

Paint brushes come in various sizes and widths.

What I recommend is, if you are just starting out,

go to your local hobby shop or arts and crafts store

and look for the packs of various sizes.

The packs will be divided up on various brush sizes

or various application uses.

Buy a pack that will give you fine to wide tips

for various applications.

Fine tips should be used for details

and the wide for even coverage.

There are also various types of brushes

that will give you different effects.

For example, if you are looking to

do a dry-brushing technique,

you can use either round tip brushes like these,

or a brush with a flat tip.

There really isn't a specific brush to start off with.

It all depends on what you are painting

and the effect you are looking to achieve.

There are many types of glues to use

with varying degrees of results.

The three that I have here are the ones

that I use the most on different types of plastic.

Zap-A-Gap Medium CA can be used

on almost any type of plastic,

including styrene, resin, and vinyl.

It is a superglue and will

adhere your skin and fingers together.

So, be very careful.

Ambroid Pro Weld is used for plastic styrene kits only.

All you have to do is brush it on over the seams

and let the bonding commence.

This glue will literally melt the plastic together.

Any type of five minuted epoxy, when mixed together,

can bond resin, styrene plastic, and vinyl.

When mixed, it can be a little thin.

So, be very careful when applying.

Always use one type of primer

for whatever plastic thst you are applying it to.

It really helps with the paint adhesion

and serves to bring out a kit's details for easier painting.

I have been using Armory grey and white primers

for plastic and resin mode kits.

It is not too dark or light

and paint adheres to it quite well.

For using through an airbrush,

I mainly use Testors Model Master grey primer.

On vinyl kits, use any water-based gray.

I suggest Delta Ceramcoat colors

for your primer or base coat.

Depending on what material the model kit is made of,

styrene plastic, vinyl, or resin,

will depend on what type of paint to use.

On styrene plastic and resin model kits,

I recommend using either Tamiya's acrylic-based paints

or Testors enamel-based Model Master paint.

Both can be applied by using either

a traditional paintbrush or through an airbrush.

If you are using either paint brand through an airbrush,

remember to thin them down with

each brand's appropriate thinners.

Thin them down enough so that you can get a good flow

through the tip without clogging it.

Please remember to allow a good amount

of time for the paint to dry.

You don't want fingerprints or smudges.

If you are working on a vinyl kit,

use water-based paints only.

I cannot stress that enough.

As oil- or enamel-based paints will never dry

and will stay tacky or sticky to the touch.

Water-based acrylic paint colors

by Delta from their Ceramcoat line

are perfect for vinyl model kits.

They dry fast and, when thinned properly,

can be applied with a paintbrush

with very little brush strokes appearing.

If using through an airbrush,

make sure that you thin the paints down

to the consistency of milk.

Or you will have trouble with the airbrush clogging.

You can do this by using either water

or with the airbrush medium that they provide.

There are many types of paints

from different companies that you can try.

See what you like.

And, with a little trial and error and some experimenting,

you will find what you can get

comfortable with and like to use.

Remember, the type of paint that you use

will depend on what type of material you are applying it to.

When you are either done painting or airbrushing colors on,

no matter if it's in between colors

or the last color applied,

you should always seal in and protect the color.

By doing this, you will protect the color

and, if you make a mistake with

putting a color over the last one,

you can take it off without ruining the color underneath.

Though, learning that trick will be learned over time.

And when you are more skillful with manipulating paint.

Also, do not mix different coatings or lacquers

with different types of paint,

as you will get effects that will be undesirable.

And starting a paint job over

can be quite a pain to deal with.

And not too fun, either.

Delta Ceramcoat Varnish should only

be used with Delta Ceramcoat paints.

Krylon finishes can be used on most paints.

Test before using on any water-based paints.

Tamiya clear coat finishes should be

used with Tamiya colors only.

Never use it on Delta colors.

Testors lacquers can be use on most paints.

It can be used on their line of

Model Master's paints, Delta Ceramcoat colors,

and any enamel paints.

Do not use on Tamiya colors,

as it can cause the paint to crack.

Masking materials are important

for clean lines and for protecting a finished paint job

that has already been applied by

either spray paint or by an airbrush.

Ambroid EZ Mask is a liquid masking material

that can be brushed or airbrushed on.

It's easy to apply and comes off without any problems.

Tamiya produces many different sizes of tape masking

that's good for when you want to do more than one color

and want to get a little fancy with your paintwork.

Patience is required when working with masking materials.

Setting solutions for decals can be quite helpful

when you want the decals to stay on

and fit snug around contours and deep crevices.

Microscale Industries produces

two bottles that are very helpful

in applying decals to most model kits.

Micro Set is a very versatile decal setting solution

that does several things to decals to improve application.

Micro Set should be applied to the surface of the model

where you will be sliding off the decal.

Micro Set prepares the surface

with special wetting agents that cuts the oils in new paint

and converts the adhesive on the back of the decal

to a stronger and more lasting one.

And, finally, Micro Set slightly softens the decal's film

to make it more flexible so that

it can conform better to the model's surface.

Better adhesion by the decal to the model

prevents tiny air bubbles from occurring

and results in an invisible carrier film

or the so-called painted on look.

Micro Sol setting solution is for

the most difficult irregular surfaces you find on models.

It completely softens the decal,

allowing you to drape down onto the surface of the model,

conforming perfectly and without distortion.

You can get the most amazing results

in seemingly impossible places,

because Micro Sol actually makes

the decal part of the paint.

For that reason, we should coat Micro Sol on

for only a few seconds and then leave it alone.

It does all the work.

Do not touch until dry as the decal

is very soft at this stage.

It could be easily damaged.

Besides using your hands for holding parts to be painted,

it's a good idea to have some tools

to hold the smallest pieces,

so that you don't get paint all over your hands.

The tools are also good for holding small pieces for gluing

so that the glue is far away from your fingers,

gluing them together or smudging glue prints

all over the model that you are working on.

Here are a few tools that I use on a regular basis.

A long tweezers with a straight tip,

a long tweezers with a bent tip.

Helpful in both painting small parts

and setting parts into places

that are hard to reach with my fingers.

Helpful in gluing those hard to reach areas.

A large needle nose pliers

and a small needle nose pliers.

Cutting tools and how you cut the parts

are important to making a good model,

especially if you are cutting parts

off of a tree from a plastic styrene kit.

If you use the wrong type of cutting tool,

you can actually wreck or ruin your parts.

Here are a few tools that can help you out.

A wire cutter for thick plastic,

a pair of scissors for thin parts and paper models,

a sprue cutter, it's flat on one side,

so that when you cut parts off of trees from styrene kits,

you get a nice, even cut.

It can also get right up to the part,

flush with it, and cut with no damage to the part at all.

I highly recommend this cutting tool.

I sure can't live without it.

And, once you get one for yourself, neither will you.

Putty is very important for filling seams on model kits.

No matter if the model kit is made of

plastic, resin, or vinyl,

there will always be seams that need to be filled

if you want the model kit to look like one piece.

You can fill seams with gap filling

superglue, epoxy, or putty, as seen here.

Green putty is used to find seams easier for sanding

once it's in the gaps and sanded.

It's made by Squadron and is very easy to work with.

They also produce a gray color

if you are worried about covering up

a green-colored putty.

Nothing is more important in this hobby

than a sharp hobby knife.

As you can see here, there are two that

I highly recommend you using that

will be very helpful in your model kit building adventures.

The first one is just your usual X-Acto brand hobby knife

that you can find just about anywhere.

They are inexpensive and durable.

It is adjustable so that you can put

other blades into the handle.

The next hobby knife is produced by Testors

and is designed with a flat handle

so that it will not roll off the table.

Unfortunately, the major downside to this hobby knife

is that the cutting blade is not

replaceable or interchangeable as the blade

is molded into the plastic handle.

But the handle is designed in such a way

it feels real good while using it.

Both have their pros and cons.

So, try them both out and see which one

you will like the best.

Or, if you're like me, you might go for both of them.

I find that, depending on how detailed

you want to get with your model kit building,

it is always very useful to have

some sculpting tools at hand.

I suggest these tools for scribing panel lines

and to help blend in areas on figure kits

that have been puttied and need to have those areas

blended in to look like the rest of the kit.

I find them invaluable to make a

convincing seamless model kit.

You can find them at select hobby shops or online.

Just look for sculpting or dental tools.

Sandpaper is an invaluable tool

in creating a professional looking model kit.

Sandpaper is helpful in wanting to get rid of seam lines

and to help blend parts together.

There are many types of sandpaper for many types

of projects and materials.

Depending if you are working with

metal, wood, plastic, resin, or vinyl

there is most likely a sandpaper made for it.

There are many manufacturers of sandpaper

and they can be found just about anywhere,

from your local hobby shop to your local hardware store.

Commonly and primarily used for nail care,

these nail sanding boards can be used

for sanding small areas on a model kit.

It's better than folding up sandpaper

to try to get into small areas.

They are very durable and usually have

two different types of grit on them.

One side has a large grit.

And the other's a fine grit.

They fit well into your hand

and can take quite a bit of abuse.

These small jeweler files come in very handy

when you need to get into very small areas.

But, be careful, they can break easily.

So, don't put too much pressure on them.

They can be found at some hobby shops or online.

With all the tools and materials that I have shown you,

you might be thinking where am I gonna put all this stuff?

Just go to your local art supply, hobby, or fishing store

and pick up a tackle box.

You have all that you need for

storage in the trays provided.

Just lift up the top tray,

thus revealing compartments that you can store

whatever hobby supply that you have

I find the tackle box invaluable.

An easy way to store hobby related items

and easy to store itself.

It doesn't take up a lot of space and is portable.

Disposable plastic measuring cups and pipettes

are very helpful with mixing paints.

If taken care of and cleaned properly,

these disposable items can be used more than once.

Small plastic measuring cups

are very useful for mixing paints.

Depending on the type of paint used,

when clean, you can use these cups more than once.

I recommend using pipettes for

siphoning paint from their containers

to use either for mixing or moving paint to an airbrush.

These two items can be found at

your local hobby shop or online.

Another very useful tool are paint trays.

They come in many sizes with a set number of areas

to put your paint for easy access,

from a small one like this to this larger one

that has an area in the middle

for mixing paints to your desired color.

Before choosing an airbrush,

consider the factors unique to your particular project.

What type of work will the airbrush be used for?

What type of media will be sprayed through the airbrush?

What is your level of experience?

And so on.

An airbrush can become a very useful tool

when you want to paint a large area

or to achieve very fine details.

Don't be afraid or intimidated by airbrushes.

They are actually very easy to use.

Once you learn how to operate and get used to them,

it's like it becomes an extension of your hand.

Let's get started with the basics of airbrushes

with the two pictured here.

The first airbrush that I will introduce to you

is the Badger Crescendo 175.

I've been using the same one for almost 20 years

with only having to replace parts that get worn out.

It's a dual action airbrush.

Meaning that, in order to trigger the air,

you must press down on the lever and then pull back

to siphon the paint from the cup.

To get different widths of paint,

there are three tip and needle parts to swap out,

small, medium, and large.

It's a quick and easy process

to swap out the tips and needles.

So, downtime is quite fast.

It is also a bottom feed airbrush.

So, either a paint cup or a jar will fit

and will siphon your choice of media up into the airbrush

and out the front nozzle.

The next airbrush I also recommend

is the Paasche F single action.

It's very easy to learn and use.

All you have to do to get both

air and paint flow at the same time

is to press down on the trigger.

Paint adjustments are made in the front

with turning the paint flow nozzle up or down

to get different widths of paint flow.

Cleanup is simple and fast.

A good airbrush also needs a good air supply

that won't fail during the application process.

I highly recommend the Paasche D3000R air compressor.

It's a 1/8 horse power, 115 volt, one phase

with an automatic shutoff when

the tank is done filling with air.

A holding tank, air regulator and moisture trap,

and an air pressure gauge are all included.

You can find this very reliable air compressor

for between $199.99 to $239

at any hobby shop or online.

I hope that I have covered materials and tools

that the beginner or experienced model kit builder

might be able to use.

What I've explained isn't the final word

on materials or tools in the hobby.

But they have helped me throughout the years.

And I hope that they will help you, too.

CANNIBAL CORPSE GUITAR TONE & GEAR - Fishman Fluence, Rectifiers, Metalzone - Duration: 11:03.

Cannibal Corpse are one of those bands that means a lot to me, they've been carrying the

flag of death metal for the longest time and I have a soft spot for them.

It doesn't hurt that the guys in the band are absolute sweethearts aswell, met them a

couple of times and they're always as friendly as can be.

I was also lucky enough to be in Six Feet Under for a brief moment together with legendary

and also absolute sweetheart Chris Barnes.

So it goes without saying, Cannibal Corpse has definitely made a mark in me AND they

are definitely the kings of their genre.

Even though I love their sound on their albums, their live sound, is to die for...

It's super thick and just so badass sounding.

Like really really manly.

You hear it and it's hard not to make that grin on your face.

Like that...

You know what I'm talking about.

So what are they using?

EMG pickups and Mesa Boogie Rectifiers boosted with a Metalzone has been part of their main

ingredient for a long while, but for this video I'm looking at trying out the exact

gear they are using today.

Because their formula has changed the past years.

All This info and settings I've received from Rob Barrett himself, so these are as accurate

as can be BUT, with that said and as I always say, I do not have their finger tone and playing

style, so it will still differ a bit and not be exactly like how they would sound, but

you will just have to live with that.

You f€&%ing leaches,

you can't have everything in life.

In that video I was using this Solar V1.6 that has Fishman Fluence Modern pickups in them,

and both Rob and Pat changed to fishman fluence a couple of years back, and this goes into

a Maxon ST9Pro + and then into a Mesa Boogie Dual rectifier

In between there is a Fortin Zuul which is a noise gate.

This guitar is tuned to E flat and later I'm also

hooking up my 7-string with that same tuning, but then it has a low A sharp.

This is hooked up to my Hesu 2x12 with

The microphone is a Beyer Dynamic M160

Celestion G12 T75 speaker...

It's really old, it comes from the Middle East.

So, these are the hammers.

Independence Day yay how are you so I'm home as you can see

I'm gonna do a progesterone test today at home and then I'm headed down to the

clinic to do one as well so we talked about confirming ovulation here's what

that kit looks like and there is the

okay there we go it's getting pink right there so let's

move it across I'm gonna lay that flat and set there and aquas door with oh I'm

sorting yeah so the reason why we do the progesterone testing is why one to

confirm ovulation and then two to make sure that the levels are sufficient to

sustain a pregnancy and this test is actually going to give either a low

progesterone reading a high or invalid oh here it is so if it's a low your

urine contains less than five milliliters of progesterone if it's high

and you see a single line in the normal area the test is positive this is more

than five of pedestrian so I'm hoping for more than five because I had so many

follicles so we're looking in this case for one line just the opposite our

pregnancy test and our obk test right so we'll see and then how much time does it

take says wait for three minutes okay here we go

and then oh my god it's so hot in New York you guys like nobody's business

in case you guys are wondering I don't wrap my hair at night I know that's a

thing now because I see people - on YouTube I also am unclear on what a

protective style is but it's the girls with natural hair last night and she was

not really it's just information at this point

oh nice okay awesome I am doing okay is that I just have a question cuz I like I

dread on you know dr. Google like on average it's like about ten and I had

three four follicles so it was 18 so high and I mean I'm glad it's aging but

it's 18 high enough for the four okay awesome okay okay thank you so much all

right you too bye bye yay oh my god so that test that we took this morning

he was wrong it's well over five 18.4 thank god so um yeah because for

pregnancy what my OB had said before is like she likes to see it over 20 but I'm

only seven DPO so even if I am pregnant like implantation would only be starting

either yesterday today you know you guys know 6:39 DPO six through nine is

usually when implantation starts so yeah but those little corpus luteum were that

we're holding the follicle are now emitting enough progesterone so I am

happy happy happy I was like a little worried too because I was thinking I

would feel sleepier but um yeah I'm I have to

remember mommy see Mahmut I trust the process

trust the process trust my process I'm so glad they told me that because I'm

gonna have to keep just like monitoring myself trust the process

trust my process trust my process um yeah 18:4 I am ecstatic it's so crazy I

don't know if it's because I'm approaching this cycle different or just

because it's happening I think it is I'm approaching it different I feel more

relaxed and the results are just coming out more positive it just is like I have

therapy this evening too so I think I'll go over it with him but I think like

identifying what is motivating me what is making me afraid and getting all that

out takes less stress to TTC because there was a lot of other stuff that was

going on that I was blaming on TTC and it was causing like stress in my body

and you know how like the stress causes the cortisol to rise and it's just not

good for your hormones right and then I wasn't triggering my parasympathetic

where I'm like nice and relaxed and so my body didn't know what to do I think

on those other cycles so I think this has been a good cycle so far I don't

want to jinx it I'm not gonna call anything because you know last time I

thought I was pregnant and I wasn't but um I'm gonna take it day-by-day and

today it was a good day hey fertility fam how are you

I'm home it is after therapy after a day and I was getting some stuff done for

the channel and yeah I needed to come on really close but I there's me was

interesting it was good I really liked this doctor I think I'm gonna keep both

doctors for now um there was nothing profound but today is also the same day

that the video posted where I was talking about my past relationships

and that I am a single woman by choice and I had been a single nut by choice

because I know there was some single mom but single moms by choice on their

channels they talk about they want to be married and they always thought they

would be married and because they hadn't found someone yet they were going down

this path I that's not me I've never had a desire to be married and so um yeah

that was posting today so it was kind of timely I think I'm open to exploring

possibilities I'm not going to say it was it never say never so I'm open to

exploring possibilities and having a long-term commitment and being partner

but I don't know what that looks like and so and I don't have examples of it

in my own life so no work in progress any work in progress but I was telling

him what I told you guys earlier about just being more relaxed the cycle and I

think not coincidentally having better results and so it is almost I hate to

say it like that cliche when they're saying just relax it's an oversimplified

way I'm telling you I think the way that he had me think about it was much more

constructive because it wasn't a matter of just relaxing but it's really

focusing on your other bullshit and they're dressing it so that it's not in

your mind because if you're already starting with baggage and things in your

way on this journey TTC is stressful and then you add that you know other stuff

or actually you have that stuff then you add TTC on top of it I always thought

like I was ready to explode and now I did not feel that this cycle I didn't

feel like a desperation or anything and so that's probably the biggest change

I've made this cycle is just my mental and following what mommy see mama Tizen

about Chester process which is really trusting myself right and knowing that I

got this and taking it one day at a time and not needing to control everything

just like I controlled what I can I'm doing my best and let that be so yeah I

did want to talk about this progesterone testing because I think I talked with

LaShonda and I was I told her I was worried about that in detour - actually

I was worried about this test because there was a second line I did not take

it with first morning urine because I forgot I woke up and I had to go really

bad so I ran to the restroom and I didn't put it in a cup so then I went

back to sleep and one I didn't actually go back to sleep I had some meetings for

about 20 minutes and took a shower and then use the restroom so that was second

first morning urine it's much more particular than those other tests and so

I'm going to test it again tomorrow just so I can test these out because I know

I've recommended them for a few people but that was when I didn't have

bloodwork to corroborate it so obviously the blood work is telling me that it's

over 18 this should have one line so I will do first morning urine tomorrow we

will see how accurate these guys are if they're not then I'm not going to

recommend them for anyone else and I'll say go to it like direct labs or

somewhere else I want to talk about why the progesterone is important because

some of you guys have never been to an Ari and you're doing natural cycles and

you're probably like what difference does it make

it helps support your embryo in the beginning it actually takes a whole

trimester for the placenta to take over and start supporting that baby which is

why a lot of women who are doing like IVF or other assisted reproductive

technology to have their baby are given progesterone through the first 13 weeks

which is the first trimester to help support it until the placenta can take

girl or well where does the projection come

from it comes from one sniff follicle has let the egg go the thing that's left

is called a corpus luteum which is why that part of your cycle that's after

your ovulation is called the luteal phase right so the corpus luteum is

excreting progesterone afterwards if there is a strong there getting ready

for the fourth of July which is tomorrow happy 4th if there is a strong ovulation

that corporately the egg was great and everything was normal right or within

that normal range that corpus luteum is kicking out enough progesterone so

that's what I was worried about last cycle I only had an eighth and I had two

follicles every dr. Google search that you're gonna do is tell will tell you

that you need at least 15 so I was worried about that especially with two

follicles now I'm only saying what you follow those no one has confirmed like

the more followers you have the more progesterone you have like maybe your

body recognizes then the level of progesterone and it balances out so

that's a separate issue so let's not focus on multiple follicles issues focus

on the progesterone so because it was eight as you heard him a call today

anything under eight they would have given me suppositories or

supplementation for me they would have given me progesterone to help my body

until we had a pregnancy test and then had I been pregnant I would have

continued with that progesterone through thirteen weeks had I had a negative beta

they would have told me to stop taking the progesterone taking it can sometimes

delay your cycle I've had it both ways or it has delayed and it hasn't so I

don't have any hard and fast rules on it just know that if you're giving

progesterone during your little phase it could delay your cycle it's a

possibility so that's kind of why the progesterone is important because and it

raised a lot of bells for me because when I was pregnant last year my

progesterone never got to nine it was like eight something I can't remember

what it is now but my OB my ob/gyn so I'm not the old re

because I hadn't seen an RA at this time when I got pregnant Lester because I got

pregnant naturally um said she would like to see like to see my progesterone

had a twenty20 that would be a viable pregnancy anything less is risky and so

she gave me the supplementation now supplementing doesn't mean it's going to

save the pregnancy but she said it can help not hurt so why not take it so

that's kind of the deal with the progesterone if you were trying

naturally at home again we're gonna test this out tomorrow this could be a way to

check your progesterone or you can go into your OB but now that's making me

nervous because a lot of you guys are telling me even once you get a positive

you're having a hard time getting in to see your OB so there is Sandra had

mentioned this before direct labs.com and I think she'll TTC also mentioned it

I have not used your clubs so check it out you don't need like a script from a

doctor or an order for lab work you can have your own done but if your

progesterone is low you want to figure out like what's going on and see if you

can get in to see like an ob/gyn I don't have you can go to Urgent Care or

walk-in clinic I'm just thinking of like I know Genesis said when she went to ER

they weren't very helpful um yeah I don't know but I would say get the text

first like don't worry about the other ones because if it's fine then it's for

nothing and you couldn't rest easy at night if it's not you want to tell them

hey I might need some progesterone supplementation here's what's going on

maybe they can do it over the phone I know at least my GP will if I tell her I

need something she'll just say come in I need to talk to you and she'll write me

a scrip for it I mean and that includes like if I need my zoloft whatever ie

like sho write it for me so and I have I say GP general

practitioner everybody doesn't have that I know some people say PCP primary care

physician I don't have an HMO so I don't have a PCP which also sounds like a drug

is a joke right I have a PCP I have a general practitioner which is just like

an internal medicine doctor so hopefully that clears it up whatever like your

doctor that does like your physical and blood-pressure that doctor whatever you

call it wherever you are contact them and see if they can help you get the

progesterone because they're still an MD they can write a script up for you also

can work with an acupuncturist you can get Chinese medicine to help to support

your little phase I also as you know see an acupuncture she gives me something

Clara Brown gives me something to support my little phase and I take that

twice a day as well we want to do lots of warming liquids so I'm doing beef

bone broth which we've talked about before I'm going to do the pineapple

core although I struggled with that last cycle you guys gave me great advice

inside make sure I cut it up and put it in a smoothie I may not always put it in

a smoothie but I'm gonna cut it up more because it just I haven't had any really

yet because I'm having flashbacks of how they just show up in my mouth last cycle

but if you didn't see that video I'll put it over here yeah so you want to do

like lots of warming things and that was another thing that acupuncture stress

not too hot you want it warming so like ginger you want teas soups it's warm

here in New York where I'm gonna do it anyway you want to put your feet in

something warm so whenever I do the giveaways I always put in like little

socks or booties that's a thing you want to keep those feet warm after ovulation

and I think that's it right for that's what you're doing after to support

implantation so hopefully that makes sense that doesn't leave me a note down

the flag I usually growing up I would have liked

July I love this country despite who's running it now but I

believe in a lot of the values of America is it perfect no no do I want to

live somewhere else no and I seriously thought about it when the dude in the

White House got elected like literally thought about moving to another car

for years tested out Canada tested our Italy meaning I went on vacation and saw

how it might be I didn't like move any things there but um yeah I'm here you
