Youtube daily report Jul 2 2018

You've probably heard about a Scientific Revolution in Europe, lasting from roughly

the mid-1500s to 1700.

And we have some very good stories to tell from this period.

But first, let's talk historiography, or how historians have told history differently

over time.

The trope of the Scientific Revolution is a useful tool for organizing events in our

story.

But it also obscures other possible framings.

In fact—as we pointed out in episode one—the term "science" wasn't used in its contemporary

sense until the mid-1800s!

So did a "Scientific Revolution" take place at all?

[INTRO MUSIC PLAYS]

Philosopher, historian, and trained physicist Thomas Kuhn had a lot of thoughts on what

makes a revolution in science.

He wrote a book called The Structure of Scientific Revolutions, published in 1962.

And in it, Kuhn argued that different sciences undergo "revolutions" when scientists

gather enough data that they can't explain using their current paradigm, or unstated,

world-organizing theory about how the universe works.

Kuhn's ideas have animated a lot of debates in the history and philosophy of science,

so let's make sure we're clear about them.

Normal science is the kind of knowledge that professional scientists—or natural philosophers—make

most of the time.

They have a combined research program and philosophy about what counts as valid knowledge

called a paradigm.

Anomalies are things that the paradigm can't explain.

Too many anomalies and… we have a scientific revolution!

Galileo and Newton overturn Aristotle!

Einstein overturns Newton!

Or, jumping back to the mid-1500s, Copernicus overturns Ptolemy!

Historians of science often associate the start of the Scientific Revolution with a

Polish politician and all-around smarty-pants named Nicolaus Copernicus.

(Nick—keep waiting in the green room until we need you!)

But we could just as easily begin with another Nick—Nicole Oresme.

Oresme argued for heliocentrism, or the theory that the earth might revolve around the sun,

one hundred and sixty six years before Copernicus!

Oresme was born around 1320 in Normandy, France.

He attended the College of Navarre, rather than the prestigious University of Paris,

so he probably came from a humble background.

But he was very intelligent, becoming grand master of the College of Navarre and then

a bishop.

Oresme spent a lot of time trying to answer one of our big questions: "where are we?"

He went about this rationally, for example, lining up arguments for or against an earth

that rotates on its axis in his book Livre du ciel et du monde, or The Book of Heaven

and the World, in 1377.

He noted that it made more sense for the earth to move than for all of the heavens to move

around the earth.

Nevertheless, Oresme concluded that the bible dictates that the earth must remain still

and chill.

So close!

Oresme also criticized astrology as a predictive science, noting that the lengths of days don't

line up perfectly with years, making the recurrence of certain astronomical phenomena very rare.

My dude even noted that farmers and sailors are better at predicting the weather than

astrologers!

And Oresme contributed a lot to math and physics.

He pioneered the use of mathematical graphs to describe how objects move through space

over time.

And he scooped Galileo on the physics of falling objects, again by well over a century!

Oresme's theories could have helped jump-start a revolution in the physical sciences… but

they didn't.

Why?

Maybe because he didn't really push them, and his contemporaries didn't see them as

particularly important.

A little over a century later, another polymath named Copernicus worked on some similar problems

with more radical results.

Historiography strikes!

There is so much cool history out there, historians have to make hard choices about when to "start"

a big idea and whose name to pin to it.

Okay, Nick—now we're ready for you!

Nicolaus Copernicus was born in 1473 in what is now Poland to a family of well-off merchants.

We don't have a ton of documents by Copernicus, up until his major work on astronomy.

But we know that he went to school around 1500 to be a humanist.

Copernicus probably spoke Latin, German, Polish, Greek, and Italian, and he translated Greek

poetry.

He studied arts, math, and astronomy at the University of Kraków.

And he visited the Universities of Bologna and Padua.

Along with the liberal arts, Copernicus also studied medicine.

He would later work mostly as a sort of private physician-slash-economist for the high-ups

back in Poland.

But the reason that we're talking about this Nick is that he took up astronomy.

He decided that retrograde motion—planets seemingly traveling around in loopty-loops!—was

an "astronomical monster," an obvious impossibility.

Copernicus also repudiated Ptolemy's "equant point"—an imaginary mathematical point

that helped earlier astronomers see planets move at uniform speeds.

Ultimately, Copernicus proposed a heliocentric universe of the cosmos: in this model, the

earth rotates on its axis once every twenty-four hours, and the Earth revolves around the sun

once every year.

Copernicus first wrote about heliocentrism in his Commentariolus, or mini-commentary,

in 1514.

He was afraid that many people—being devout Aristotelians, Ptolemy-ians, and Christians—would

ridicule his life's work.

Most people thought heliocentrism was wrong, and many found the idea downright blasphemous.

So for years, the only source of Copernicus's radical new theory was the outline that his

protege Rheticus published in 1540, called Narratio prima, or The First Account.

When he was facing the end of his life, however, Copernicus relented.

On his deathbed in 1543, he received the first copy of his book, which I'm going to attempt to pronounce now...

De revolutionibus orbium

cœlestium, or what all the cool cats call "De rev"—On the Revolutions of the Heavenly

Spheres.

According to legend, Copernicus woke up from a coma, took one look at the published De

rev, smiled—and died peacefully, knowing that his great work would finally reach a

wider audience.

And also that he couldn't get persecuted for it cause he was super dead!

As happens often in the history of science, Copernicus's contribution wasn't really

coming up with a new idea, but taking a non-mainstream idea and explaining it in a way that made

people paid attention.

In proposing a sun-centered cosmos, Copernicus was working on a theory that had never really

caught on in Europe but had also never really gone away.

Besides his fellow-Nick, Oresme, Copernicus knew about the heliocentric model espoused

by the ancient Greek astronomer, Aristarchus of Samos, who was born around 310 BCE, about

a decade after Aristotle died.

Aristarchus was waaay ahead of his his time: he put the sun in the center of the solar

system, and then put the planets in their correct order around it.

He guessed that other stars were like the sun, just farther away.

He even deduced that the earth rotates on its axis.

But most astronomers rejected Aristarchus's ideas… until Copernicus.

If there's any guy in history that told us where we were the best, it was that greek

dude that everyone forgot about.

But people paid attention to Copernicus.

ThoughtBubble, shine some light on why his book about revolutions was revolutionary:

De rev was not based on new observations, and it did not prove heliocentrism.

In it, Copernicus hypothesized that his theory must be a better-fit model for the cosmos

than the geocentrism of Ptolemy, because a sun-centered model was more "pleasing to

the mind."

And Copernicus's theory was so pleasing!

In his heliocentric model, retrograde motion disappeared.

Copernicus dictated a definite order of the planets:

Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, and then Saturn.

Copernicus's theory also made the universe twenty times wider across than Ptolemy.

Which turned out not to be big enough, turns out the universe is very big—but still so big that most people didn't believe it.

But Copernicus didn't revolutionize everything about the Christian–Aristotelian cosmos.

For one, Copernicus's math was a disaster.

And, in his theory, the Earth and other planets revolved around a center point that was near

the sun, but wasn't exactly the sun.

And the planets were still embedded in crystalline spheres.

For Copernicus, the idea that the earth rotates on its axis was the "third motion."

That is, along with the rotation of the whole sphere, defining a year, and a transition

from day to night, defining a day.

The third motion explained the other stuff.

Thanks Thought Bubble, Nick's grand theory fit into the first twenty-four pages of his

book.

The rest was dense and, frankly, not very revolutionary astronomy.

Copernicus used Ptolemy's fifteen-hundred year old data to build his system.

So maybe Copernicus wasn't a revolutionary within science, just one more in a long line of good astronomers.

The Scientific Revolution is sometimes positioned as a break in Europe between a Christian concept

of knowledge and a secular or worldly one.

Certainly, Copernicus's cosmos doesn't look like Dante's.

But if De rev was a break, it wasn't very sharp.

Copernicus was a diplomat, a religious person, and generally risk-averse.

He was a canon in the church—a position just below bishop.

He dedicated De rev to Pope Paul III.

Protestant leader Martin Luther did reject heliocentrism.

But this didn't become a public controversy until Galileo's time, a hundred years later.

In fact, Copernicus's publisher, Andreas Osiander, added an anonymous preface to De rev,

saying that the book was only a thought experiment:

it didn't need to be true to help astronomers better understand the math behind the motions

of the planets, and thus make better predictions about them.

It didn't even need to be probable.

This was… not exactly a battle cry challenging conventional cosmology.

Regardless—according to a common version of the history of science—this is how the

Scientific Revolution started.

Was it a revolution?

The majority of people on earth didn't know the Scientific Revolution was starting when

De rev appeared.

They didn't see any armies forcing them at gunpoint to think about the fact that—plot

twist—the earth revolves around the sun.

The "battles" about this, when they occurred at all, took place in the halls of universities

or between the covers of books that most people couldn't even read!

It's true that, by 1700, European thinkers had pretty much moved away from the science

of Aristotle and Ptolemy, or at least many parts of it.

But the concept of the Scientific Revolution comes from the nineteenth century.

Historians looked back and said:

"How Europeans answered big questions such as 'where are we?'

really started to change around the middle of the 1500s.

By the middle of the 1600s, natural philosophers had developed new methods of making all kinds

of knowledge.

We dub this shift, 'the Scientific Revolution!'"

This idea of a break makes sense when you remember the motto of the Royal Society, "nullius

in verba"—don't believe something just because Aristotle said it!

Natural philosopher such as Francis Bacon and Robert Boyle pushed for experiments and

published their results in journals.

And more people had access to books like De rev, thanks to Gutenberg.

So you can call it either way: a revolution didn't take place, because the number of people

involved at the time was small, and not much changed in daily life due to new ideas in

science.

Or a revolution did take place, because Galileo got in trouble for looking at Jupiter, Newton

invented calculus, and French and English natural philosophers could argue via journal.

We're gonna talk about all these stories soon!

In conclusion: people named Nick make the best astronomers.

Two of them helped catch medieval Europe up to the astronomical knowledge level of India,

or classical Mesoamerica.

(Remember how the Maya were really, really into astronomy, centuries ago?)

So the idea of "the" Scientific Revolution, in early modern Europe, doesn't make as

much sense as the idea of many scientific revolutions in different places at different

times.

And finally—and this is so critical!—just as science is an active area of research today,

history is too.

Historians have to choose what stories to tell and how to most accurately frame them

for their own times and places.

Next time—we'll accompany science-boss Tycho Brahe on a duel and meet Copernicus's

historical brother from another mother, Johannes Kepler.

I live in an 11 storey building, surely that's not considered a skyscraper.

Okay so no.

After doing just a bit more research, and even just looking into Wikipedia's sources

it's a relative term whose definition has evolved significantly in the last few centuries.

Turns out, the building I live in could have been considered a Skyscraper, back in the

late 1800 and early 1900s, buildings taller than 10 stories were considered Skyscrapers.

This made sense, since it only became possible to construct buildings that high after the

refinement of the Bessemer steel production process and the invention of the first Safety

Elevator around the mid 1800s.

The Home Insurance Building in Chicago, completed in 1885, is generally recognized as the world's

first skyscraper, as it is the first building to utilize steel-girder construction.

Structures taller than 10 storey buildings of course existed before that time but they

required massive masonry bases and often had to be as wide as it is tall, such as the pyramids.

But for some reason people don't consider the Great Pyramid of Giza as a skyscraper

even though it's almost as tall as the tallest building in Belgium.

As buildings soared past each other in height continuously throughout the 20th century,

which is something that's still going on today, obviously people's standard of what

qualifies as a skyscraper has risen.

So what's the minimum standard for a Skyscraper now?

Well there's no consensus, some say at least 40 storeys, some say 50.

Some think it should be 100.

The reason for this lack of definition is not just that the average height of buildings

have grown.

It's more so because "Skyscraper" is not actually a technical term used in the

architectural industry.

Architects, interior designers and engineers generally utilize the term "High Building"

or "High-rise Building."

And while there is no global consensus on those terms' meanings either, they are at

least more precisely defined, and used by professionals to make design decisions.

The international building code defines a "High-rise Building" as a "building

with an occupiable floor located more than 75 feet (22.86m) above the lowest level of

fire department vehicle access."

Here where I live in Ontario, Canada, a "High building" is defined by the code as a building

either 18 m or 36 m high, depending on usage type and occupant load.

You might think, who cares what counts as a high-rise?

Well it matters because floors above a certain height cannot be reached by fire-fighting

equipment from the ground, and a building above a certain height can have a serious

impact on evacuation.

And thus, once a building surpasses a certain height, different design decisions have

to be made regarding things like egress, fire suppression systems, fire separation, and

interior materials selection.

I just realized like, 90% of my architecture and design related videos have to do with

fire.

Sorry it's a really hard topic to avoid.

Anyway, even though "Skyscraper" isn't an industry used term, I still think it's

a really important and valuable word because it embodies humanity's desires and ambitions.

We've been attempting to reach the heavens for millennia, whether it's the pyramids,

gothic cathedrals, modern glass towers, or these insane kilometre tall spires.

We keep trying to climb higher and higher.

And maybe that's why most people don't ponder too much about where the lowest line

for a skyscraper sits.

They're mostly focused on looking up.

Thanks for watching everyone.

So what's your favourite skyscraper?

I'll be a traditionalist and accept any buildings over 10 floors.

Cardi B Fans React to Her Throwback Baby Photo | Billboard News - Duration: 1:06.

As Cardi B prepares for the arrival of her baby girl this Summer, one fan on Twitter

is turning back the hands of time to when the "Bodak Yellow" rapper was just a toddler

herself in this hilarious throwback photo, that is of course, already a meme.

All of the fun began when @FendiVersace shared the flashback on Twitter Sunday,

with the caption, "My momma said ya'll have to play with me."

It didn't take long to catch Cardi's attention as the Bronx native re-shared the pic,

calling it "funny as f---."

From there, the Bardi gang took over with their own baby Cardi inspired captions.

Nina posted, "My mommy say I can bite people that be mean to me."

@nneat_tinsley wrote, "Mama said you gotta take me with you to the store."

Other fans went the reaction route, turning to memes like these to convey

their hysterical takeaways.

For even more reactions to Cardi's throwback you can head to Billboard.com,

Mom Expects After 10 Years Of Trying: Doctor Calls And Confesses Huge Mistake 4 Days Later - Duration: 4:02.

Mom Expecting After 10 Years Of Trying: Doctor Calls Frantically And Confesses Huge Mistake

4 Days Later.

The thought of not being able to have children while wanting them so badly is devastating

for most.

Sean Savage and his wife Carolyn, have had difficulty conceiving in recent times despite

already having 3 beautiful children.

Carolyn continued to menstruate each month as opposed to getting a plus sign on a pregnancy

test.

For Carolyn this process was totally draining her as each time there was a possibility of

good news it was followed by a miscarriage.

Finally they came to the decision and opted for In Vitro Fertilization (IVF).

They both hoped and prayed this solution would offer the best outcome.

It wasn't too long before Carolyn received exciting news that she was expecting until

her husband received a call neither of them would ever have expected.

In 1993 the happy couple got married to each and delivered their first baby almost 12 months

later.

Following her first pregnancy Carolyn found it more difficult to get pregnant each time.

The natural route no longer seemed to be an option so after some fertility treatment their

second child was born.

In 2007 almost ten years after their first born the couple tried test tube fertilization

and that's when their daughter Mary Kate was born.

Then in February 2009 Carolyn wanted to have a fourth child and so she proceeded to have

embryo's implanted.

Thankfully the IVF was a success but little did they realise their lives would soon change.

The devastating news arrived only a couple of days into the pregnancy.

To their horror the doctor informed them that there had been a huge mistake and the embryos

had accidentally become mixed up.

Carolyn had another person's fertilized egg placed in her womb, although she was ecstatic

about being pregnant this child was belong to another person.

Carolyn was faced with a decision to either keep or abort the baby, so despite it being

her last chance to get pregnant successfully she chose to keep the baby and give to its

biological parents.

"We moved from a position of shock to a realization that this was actually going to

happen.

It's just been difficult, but we feel we made the right decisions on how to handle

it," Carolyn explained.

Shannon and Paul Morrell from Detroit were contacted by the couple to give them the news.

Logan arrived four weeks early via C-section, after an hour and a half with him she passed

him to his rightful parents.

Carolyn said "He is their son.

But he will always be my baby."

Sean had the difficult task of handing Logan over to his biological parents they waited

in a room next door.

Carolyn thought she had seen everything after this overwhelming experience.

In 2011, happiness re-entered their lives as the couple were expecting twins, via a

surrogate mother.

The family who had experienced so much dismay now had a new sense of joy once twins Isabella

and Reagen arrived.

Carolyn explains "The twins have closed some of the grief we were still experiencing

over what happened with Logan.

They are certainly not replacement babies, but they have been the best thing for all

of us."

The biggest surprise came in 2014, Carolyn took a pregnancy test at home and could not

believe her eyes when she saw the result.

Could this really be true she thought?

"As my befuddled brain studied the test, I thought I must be wrong.

I'm infertile.

I've gone through countless fertility treatments over the past two decades and with the exception

of a couple of IVFs, I've only seen two positive home pregnancy tests.

What on Earth was my 45-year-old self thinking?

I couldn't be pregnant now.

Could I?"

Their son Nicholas Winton Savage was born in the fall of 2014, despite having struggled

with fertility for 20 years her family of eight was now complete.

Carolyn was 45 years old when her baby Nicholas, who was born without the help of fertility

drugs.

Kobe Bryant Thrilled LeBron Will Join The Lakers — Will He Come Out Of Retirement To Play With Him? - Duration: 2:56.

LeBron James is joining the LA Lakers, and we've EXCLUSIVELY heard Kobe Bryant will 'do whatever it takes' to help LeBron out

Does that mean 'Black Mamba' might come out of retirement to play alongside 'King James?'    The ink isn't dry on his four-year, $154 million contract, and people are already calling LeBron James, 33, the greatest Los Angles Laker of his generation

Kobe Bryant, 38, might take issue with that, if he wasn't psyched that the "G.O.A

T." will be wearing a Lakers jersey "Kobe is happy LeBron is coming to LA," a source close to Kobe EXCLUSIVELY tells HollywoodLife

com. "Kobe accomplished a lot as a Laker and feels loyal to the team for life. So Kobe is willing to do whatever it takes to help LeBron achieve success in Los Angeles and bring a title back to the Lakers

"    The last time the Lakers won the NBA Championship was back in 2010, back when Kobe was still on the court

Kobe hung it all up in 2016, finishing his 20-year-career with the Lakers in one blistering, 60-point game against the Utah Jazz

Now that LeBron is playing for the Lakers, is "Black Mamba" feeling the pressure to come back on the court for one last run? "While he is tempted to come out of retirement to play with LeBron," the source tells HollywoodLife

com, "that is not going to happen. Kobe feels it's LeBron's turn to shine in LA."  LeBron may (arguably) be the best player of all time, but he's not a miracle worker

Kobe will be turning 40 on August 23, a rough age for any professional athlete. Plus, consider that the overall No

1 draft pick of the 2018 Draft, DeAndre Ayton, is 19-years-old. Kobe Bryant played in the NBA for more years than DeAndre has been alive

It seems Kobe's happy to sit in the stands – or in his personal VIP box, because, c'mon – and watch with the rest of the fans

Kobe gave LeBron some love during the 2018 Academy Awards when the "Black Mamba" became "Oscar Award-winning Black Mamba," as Kobe and Glen Keane won the award for "Best Animated Short

" In his acceptance speech, Kobe gave a nod to LeBron's then-beef with Laura Ingraham

"As basketball players, we're supposed to 'shut up and dribble,' but I'm glad we do a little more than that," Kobe said, using Laura's insult as a way to raise him, LeBron and any other politically-minded NBA player up

DIY Fabric Wall Organizer with Pockets - Duration: 3:24.

Hey what's up you guys? My name is Emily and in this video I'm going to show you

how to make a wall organizer.

Lets get on with the video!

What you'll need for this DIY is some fabric,

felt or another color of fabric,

a ruler, a pencil, a wooden dowel, scissors, paper, twine, and pins.

You're also going to need a sewing machine

but you can also sew it by hand with a needle and thread.

The first thing you want to do is that you want to cut a piece of fabric

at about 14 1/2 inches by 11 1/2 inches

or you can cut the piece of fabric bigger than what I did.

Then you can flip the fabric over so you can see the back of the fabric

and you want to fold a half inch edge on each edge of the fabric.

When you're done folding the edges you want to sew each edge

with a sewing machine or you can just sew it by hand.

I decided to sew it with a sewing machine.

You want something like this.

When you're done sewing the fabric,

you want to take a wooden dowel

and you want to place it where the top of the organizer will be.

Then you want to fold the fabric over the dowel

and then you'll want to pin the fabric in place.

When you get the pins in the fabric

you can pull out the dowel

and then you can sew the fabric together.

Make sure while your sewing you leave enough room for the dowel.

When you're done sewing the place where the dowel will go

you want to cut out some templates out of paper for your pockets.

The big pocket I made is 7 3/4 of an inch by 4 inches

and my two small pockets are by 3 1/2 inches by 4 inches.

When you're done cutting out your templates

you want to trace the templates onto a different color of fabric or felt.

Then you want to cut out the pockets.

You don't have to make three pockets

and you don't have to make the pockets the same size as mine.

You can make them any size that you want

and you can make as many as you want.

When you're done cutting out your pockets,

you want to lay them out where you want to be.

Then you can pin the corners of the pockets to the fabric.

When you're done pinning the fabric, you can sew the pockets on.

You only want to sew the left, the right and the bottom of the pocket.

You don't want to sew the top of the pocket.

When you're done sewing, make sure you trim off

any of the extra thread off of the front and the back of the organizer.

Now you get put the dowel in

and then you can tie a piece of twine on each end of the dowel.

When you're done with the organizer

you can hang it up on the wall

and you can put whatever you would like into the pockets.

and that's how you make this wall organizer!

In the comments down below let me know what you think about this DIY

I will see you in the next video. Bye!

Light Painting Tutorial - Slow Shutter Speed Photography - Duration: 10:00.

I want to show you how you can create amazing light paintings like the one on

my t-shirt even if all you have access to is a mobile phone you don't have any

fancy equipment or fancy editing software even. The journey that

I've been on for the last couple of years has been all about mental health,

personal development and really trying to figure out how to live life well and

what I found is that creativity is the best kind of therapy for me and the

first light painting that I ever did, I was literally lighting up the darkness I

felt like there was nothing but darkness all around me and I symbolically created

something beautiful, where before there was nothing but suffering and pain so

without getting too deep into that stuff I'm gonna show you how I got this result

on my Samsung S6 mobile phone and how I got this result on my Canon 6D DSLR. If

you do enjoy this video please let us know by clicking the like button or

leaving a comment down below and if you create your own light painting, I

would really love to see it just tag me @KyLives on Instagram

What you'll need to get started is a packet of sparklers, a really reliable

lighter that's still going to work in the wind and a friend because it's way

more fun to do this with another person and it gets way more silly and way more

creative plus it's pretty hard to do this on your own anyway. Probably the

most important thing to remember is that if the phone or the camera moves while

the shutter is open then it will blow your image and ruin your light painting

so you probably need to lean it up against something. I just had mine on a

selfie stick leaning up against my camera on the tripod but I've also been

known to use like a sunscreen bottle on a bongo drum like whatever I have on

hand, it's fine. I wanted to show in this video that you can create amazing art

without spending heaps of money on crazy equipment and stuff like that. You

probably won't produce a perfect light painting the first time or even the

first ten times or even ever really, you're not really looking for a perfect

image it's all about getting really creative and catching something that is

the essence of that creativity, catching 10 seconds of your life where you were

in pure creative bliss just having the time of your life and forgetting about

all your worries, forgetting about all your problems and lighting up your own

darkness. On my phone here I'm just going to swipe into camera options and

then I'm going to select this pro icon and just beneath ISO you can see a

little camera shutter icon and this actually controls how long your camera

shutter will stay open for so if you set that to 10 seconds you'll have plenty of

time to draw or write whatever you want to draw or write.

The faster that you can get your light painting done, the less blurry it will

turn out in the end. If the phone moves at all while you're taking the picture

it will make the image really blurry so it's best to lean it up against

something or use a like phone tripod if you have any of that kind of stuff. You

can already get a pretty cool image without editing but if you'd like to

take a little bit further, Adobe Photoshop Express is actually free. Open

it up and select your image and this is the screen that we land on which shows a

bunch of presets which are pretty much Instagram filters on steroids but we're

gonna go to our sliders. We'll turn clarity up to the max which will give it

that crisp look and then we'll turn defog up to the max which will get rid of

that foggy look and then we'll turn contrast up to the max which will take

your extremities to their extremes then we'll drop shadows all the way down

because we want the shadows to be as dark as possible, same with the blacks

and then to play with the coloring you could push the tint all the way to the

pink side or all the way to the green side. You could also play with the

temperature. You could make it a little bit more orange or a little bit more blue

and you can also mix and match between tint and temperature to get the color

that you like and I really like this electric blue kind of thing I've got

going on that makes it actually look like electrical sparks flying off

and then to push your picture to the absolute limits I would turn vibrance up

to the max and saturation up to the max. Sometimes turning everything up to the

max will ruin the image but you can just dial it back until you find that sweet

spot but I pretty much always start with what's the most extreme thing I can do

how can I make this image pop how can I make this stand out and then a

quick crop goes a long way because you can make it look like you framed the

picture perfectly when you shot it. Then it's as simple as hitting share, hitting

Instagram, next, next, write yourself a little post and click share. If you're

using a DSLR to change the shutter speed usually all you have to do is turn this

little wheel. This means 10 seconds. If it doesn't have the little marks beside it

that means one tenth of a second which is nowhere near enough time for you to

draw a picture. If you were shooting RAW files open up Photoshop and pump up the

clarity, pump up the contrast, drop your shadows and your blacks just like you

did before. Don't worry if you don't have access to this RAW editor just skip to

the next step. Pump up your whites, pump up your vibrance, pump up your saturation,

use that temperature to give yourself a little bit more color, we'll need it in a

minute. Now we need to flip the image so we need to select the vector tool or

press V. Make sure you turn the padlock off or it won't work.

Drag it to the edge and scale it over itself.

Now we're going to add a hue and saturation layer

going to slide the hue all the way to one end

what we want to do here is brush over the parts of the image that we want to

be affected by this layer but first we need to select the gradient tool or

press G and select the black or background color and then fill the image

and that will eliminate the effect altogether and then change back to your

brush tool, change back to white or foreground paint and brush over the

parts of the image that you actually want to have the effect. If you click on

this little icon that looks like a Japanese flag you can actually feather

out the edges of your image, make that edge of what you've just painted a

little bit softer so it will blend in with the other colors and then go grab

yourself another layer and use that slider to find another color that you

would like and you've got to repeat the process over again so you need to grab

your gradient paint bucket and fill the image with black or background paint and

that will eliminate everything and then grab your brush and paint over the areas

that you want that new effect to actually affect - helps if I actually

change to the correct color

same thing again, add a bit of feather and that will help it blend in together

and not - you won't have sharp edges and we're just gonna keep adding layers, keep

adding new colors until we're happy with the image

you have to repeat all of these steps each time you do it too so each color

that you find you need to grab that paint bucket again and

eliminate that background - or that foreground and remove that effect

completely and then grab your brush tool or press B and paint over the area that

you want I'm repeating myself a lot but it might even help it stick in your head

a little bit better. We're only going to do it one more

time after this anyway and also don't forget your feathering because that

actually makes a huge difference

the last color I think I'll use the other side, there's a whole spectrum on the other side

as well, love that green. I could even leave it like that but I'm still going

to cancel it out with my paint bucket and

brush over the part that I actually want to color myself so that I get a very

deliberate image here.

I think that looks better now anyway, I'm glad I did that. Okay so the last feather

just to blend that E to the V and there we are.

Mohamed Salah sends classy message to Liverpool fans after signing bumper new deal – WATCH - Duration: 3:33.

Despite only arriving at Anfield last summer, Salah has committed his future to the club by signing a new five-year deal worth a staggering £200,000 a week

Salah has been handed the bumper new contract after his stunning debut season with the Reds

The Egyptian ace netted 44 goals in just 52 appearances last term and bagged himself the PFA Players' Player of the Year, the Football Writers' Association's Footballer of the Year and Premier League Golden Boot awards

And after signing his new contract with the club – which doesn't include a release clause – Salah took to social media to thank the Anfield faithful

"Hello to Liverpool fans, I'm very happy to say I have signed a new contract with the club," Salah said

"My first year at the club was an incredible experience for me and my family. I have to thank everyone at Liverpool and also you, our supporters

"I know we can achieve a lot of things together [and] I'm looking forward to seeing you

See you soon." Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp believes Salah's decision to put pen-to-paper on a new contract shows how the club is moving forward

"I think this news can be seen for what it is; rewarding a person who performed and contributed greatly for the team and the club last season," Klopp said

"It demonstrates two things very clearly also - his belief in Liverpool and our belief in him

"We want world-class talent to see they have a home at Anfield where they can fulfil all their professional dreams and ambitions - we are working hard together to achieve this

"When someone like Mo Salah commits and says this place is my home now, it speaks very loudly I think

"Equally, our commitment to him says we see his value and want him to grow even more and get even better within our environment

"The key thing to remember is the best thing about Mo is that he never sees himself as being more important than the team or anyone else within it

"He recognises his teammates and this club helped him achieve individual success last season

He sees the individual awards come because he is part of something bigger that is special

"Mo reflects where we are as a team, I think. Last season was special with many special moments - but we want more

"We want to be more successful and achieve more together - as the supporters sang so loudly, 'we're never gonna stop'

This has to be the attitude individually and collectively."

Man Utd transfer news: Gilberto Silva reveals change that will help Paul Pogba next season - Duration: 2:31.

The Brazil international completed his £53m move to United last month, joining from Shakhtar Donetsk

Fred, 25, is expected to slot in alongside Pogba and Nemanja Matic at Old Trafford under Jose Mourinho

And Silva says Fred will let Pogba - who struggled to impress at United this season - play with freedom and express himself

"I think the combination with Fred can really help Pogba," Silva said to the Daily Mirror

"With Fred, Pogba can be more free to go forward and help the guys up front, as he likes to do

"I'm really looking forward to see the combination with Fred, Pogba and Nemanja Matic, and how Jose is going to use them

"When Pogba came to United as the world's most expensive player, there was a lot of pressure on him and expectation generated by that

"You have to be able to handle that, but hopefully Fred's arrival, and the shape they'll play with him, can help Pogba a lot

"Matic is a great player, Pogba as well. So for Fred to be playing alongside guys of this quality, he can take his game to another level

" Pogba had numerous bust-ups with Mourinho at United this season. Red Devils boss Mourinho axed the France international from his starting line-up after a poor run of form

Pogba has been vocal on his problems with Mourinho, with the £89m man revealing he had to accept criticism from his manager

"It was a better season that the previous one," he said. "It was an experience. There were some small issues with [Mourinho], but they were nothing in the end

"Being a substitute, that sort of thing, it helps you to grow. I have to accept it

"

Społeczeństwo to zapamiętało, stąd oczekiwanie społeczeństwa daleko idącej skromności.
