Welcome to this premiere video of Speculation Pictures
The European Union is a political and economic union of 28 member states.
These states are UK, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain,
just kidding. I won't name all of them.
But it is an interesting thought as to what if the EU was just one Sovereign
State or country?
Firstly the EU would cover an area of 4.475 million square
kilometres making the EU
slightly bigger than India and so making it the seventh largest country in the world.
But it would still be way behind Australia the sixth largest
country in the world which has an area of 7.6
million square kilometres
But the population of the EU would be
21.4 times more than that of Australia at
513 million people.
It would knock off the US
from the third place
But it would still be behind the un-suspecting nations of China and India.
Well, India took revenge I would say!
The GDP of the EU would be
astronomically high at 18 trillion USD.
This will rank it second though, just behind the United States whose GDP is
19 trillion
dollars
Well the US took revenge now!
The currency of the EU would be of course the Euro.
But it would be surprising to know the capital of the EU.
The five largest cities in the EU are London,
Berlin,
Madrid, Rome and Paris.
Today the capital of the EU is Brussels, which is the 16th largest city in the EU.
Surprisingly the EU already has a national anthem. It's called the Ode to Joy.
This would most probably be the EU national flag.
The religious diversity of the EU is quite big.
71 percent of the population would be Christian which would immediately make it the largest Christian country
pushing out the US from the first place. The EU took revenge for the first time!
It would also have a relatively big atheist population at
24% of the people not believing in religion.
However, it would nowhere be close to the percentage of population
in China who are atheist of people who don't believe in religion
which stands out at nearly 50 percent!
China supported the US for the first time!
German would likely become the official language of the EU as it is the most spoken
language in the EU. Of course I'm aware that German has been auctioned on eBay
and I will give you the link of this information in the description.
The military expanse of the EU would be very large. The EU would have a military of 1.55
million active personnel making it the second largest army in the world,
behind China and just ahead of India. Well the EU took its fight!
The EU's highest point would be Mount Blanc in France and Mount Bianco in
Italy, both of which have the same altitude
4808 meters
The lowest point anywhere in the EU would be Tatbau Hambach in Germany
at 293 meters below sea level!
The Netherlands might be the flattest country in the EU as its average altitude is just 2 metres above sea level!
Spain is the most mountainous country in the EU.
So these countries which would likely be provinces if the EU became one country would have such extremes.
But it's surely
exciting to think of the EU as one country in but in my
opinion it won't be possible in the near future.
