Please be seated.
Hello, Your Honor.
Hello.
This the case of Davies v. Hunter.
Thank you, Jerome. Good day, everyone.
AUDIENCE: Good day.
Ms. Davies, you say that
after being with Mr. Hunter for five years,
he's now given into your lies and rumors about your past,
scrapped your wedding plans,
and is now denying your son Jayden.
Is that correct?
Yes, Your Honor.
JUDGE LAKE: Mr. Hunter, you say
you've never fully accepted that Jayden is your son
because Ms. Davies has a questionable past.
In fact, you say, you believe you even caught her in the act
of cheating on you.
Is that correct?
Yes, Your Honor.
Ms. Davies, Jayden is four years old.
What took you so long to come to court?
Well, Your Honor, me and Devon, like you stated
have been together for five years, almost six.
And due to all the rumors,
he no longer wants to get married.
He has cut off our wedding plans.
So I'm here to prove that he is the father of Jayden.
You called off the wedding plans, Mr. Hunter?
Yes, Your Honor. Because...
Things I have seen... I don't really trust the things she do.
I have seen too much to keep going along with this.
So I have to make sure that
this child is mine.
So this was once a very happy relationship?
Am I correct?
Yes, Your Honor.
Take me back.
Well, Your Honor, we met, like, five and a half years ago,
through a mutual friend
I would say that
we were happy when we first got together.
But then I started finding text messages,
phone calls from other females.
So at that point of the relationship, Your Honor,
I no longer trusted him, at all.
Well, I found messages in her phone too.
Same, same thing.
So that's why I started doing the things I was doing.
Messages from whom?
Messages like, "When you coming out? Can I come get you?"
"When are we going to hang out?"
From men?
Yes, from men.
Ms. Davies, were you entertaining other men?
Yes, I was, Your Honor.
AUDIENCE: Oh.
You were?
DAVIES: Yes.
Because Devon was out with other females.
That's not true. I caught her first.
So that's when I started...
DAVIES: That's a lie, Your Honor.
You caught her doing what?
HUNTER: I caught her with her phone messages first.
And then I started going out, stepping out.
DAVIES: That's a lie, Your Honor.
After I see the text messages,
the females calling my phone,
then I decided that,
"Okay. Two can play that game."
And I decided to go out and talk to someone else.
Now, once you did that what happened?
Well, once I did that, I briefly had a relationship
with a guy.
We were...
(SIGHS) We were sexually...
Together.
A few times.
JUDGE LAKE: Did you use protection?
While she was with me.
Uh, um...
A couple of times we did not, Your Honor.
JUDGE LAKE: All right, so,
that's pretty much why we're here.
DAVIES: Yes.
You find out you're pregnant.
Yes, Your Honor.
He was denying my son from the gate.
He's all, "Are you sure it's mine?
"I found messages so I know you were with other guys.
"So are you sure this is my son?"
I said, "Yes, I am sure this is your son."
How were you sure?
HUNTER:She wasn't.
Okay. I can't say I was 100% sure at that time.
But I wanted Devon to be the father.
Because he has been there in my life for...
At this time we have been together for like two and a half years.
All right. Now we, we are getting honest now.
And that's what we are here to do.
DAVIES: Right, right.
The truth is that when you told him, you wanted him to be.
DAVIES:Yes.
But you didn't know for certain.
Yes, Your Honor.
When she told you that she was pregnant, Mr. Hunter,
how about you? What did you feel in that moment?
Immediately I said, "I have doubt." Because it was just...
I couldn't trust her and that's why I came here.
I need to understand what was really going on
before we move on with our relationship.
When she told you she was pregnant,
did she tell you, she was 100% sure?
Yes.
So what were you basing this doubt on?
Rumors and things that I had heard and seen myself.
JUDGE LAKE: What kind of rumors?
Like people tell me that she had been hanging out, hopping in and out of cars.
I had friend that told me they went to a party one time
and she hooked up with some guy at the party.
That was around the time the baby was conceived.
Uh, you not denying it.
You're just smirking, Ms. Davies.
DAVIES: Um, um...
What's the story?
I did go to parties.
But as far as me hooking up with the guys at a party,
that is false, Your Honor.
I didn't hear it that way.
JUDGE LAKE: You also just testified
that when you told him you were pregnant
you told him that there was no other possible father.
And then you have admitted in court today
that that statement was untrue.
Because you weren't 100% sure.
She is a liar.
(SIGHS)
So if you're not telling the truth now
why should he believe you were telling the truth then?
Well, Your Honor,
he should trust me the same way I trusted him.
JUDGE LAKE: You all going to trust one another?
How can I trust her?
That's another lie in court.
When one day...
Your Honor.
Can I speak?
No. No, let me speak.
One day, I'm at her house, right.
She let me stay over at her house.
I had been drinking so I wanted to go lay down, right.
I accidently fall asleep longer than I'm supposed to.
So she's thinking I'm gone.
She brings another guy and another girl upstairs into the room.
What?
(AUDIENCE GASPS)
So then she makes me leave.
That is true, Your Honor.
That's true.
Okay.
DAVIES: That is true.
Well, explain that.
And I did let him come over.
Because he was drinking. He says he need to sleep it off for a while.
So I'm thinking he's gone.
And so I did come with a guy and a girl
to my house and my room.
What were you brining the guy and the girl in your room to do?
(SIGHS)
(HUNTER CHUCKLES)
Your Honor.
We...
I think we all know what you were going to do.
We did plan on having a sexual encounter.
Me and the guy and the girl.
Now, is this is a different guy
from the guy that you said you were...
Messing around with?
Yes, Your Honor.
And so when you saw that, Mr. Hunter,
were you certain that this guy was excluded from potential fathers?
I didn't even know the guy. I don't know how long
she'd been messing with the guy or anything.
So he could be the father.
Your Honor, I don't...
Your Honor, he has...
I don't know the guy.
He has, he has, um, ex-girlfriends.
They were calling my phone.
You know what, Ms. Davies, I don't doubt
your testimony.
So I felt like I wanted to...
Seems like you had a lot going on.
...step out and have fun too.
Because he was doing it also.
He didn't get pregnant, you did.
You're right. You're right.
And that's why we're here.
I mean, at the end of the day,
we want to say it's a double standard,
but really it's just biology. It's how we're made.
We get pregnant, we carry the children,
and we often carry the burden.
DAVIES: Right.
JUDGE LAKE: Why the tears?
Because this is hurtful to hear all these things he thought about me.
You can't be too hurt right now.
'Cause this is not even the first time. I caught her in the kitchen.
We were sitting in the living room one day
and then she gets up and walks to the kitchen
and she's in the kitchen for like, maybe 10-15 minutes.
She was supposed to come back earlier.
I walk around to the kitchen,
and she is downright standing there in-between this guy's legs.
Like, you know what I mean? What was that about?
JUDGE LAKE: What is this about?
Because you say that it hurts to hear you...
HUNTER: It was multiple times.
You said... Hold on now, Mr. Hunter.
'Cause you're not innocent, but I am more concerned about Ms. Davies in this moment
because she is the mother of this four-year-old little boy,
and we don't know who his father is.
Ms. Davies,
when you say, "I'm upset because I didn't know
"he felt all these things about me."
You do understand that these are things you've shown him.
Yes.
Because you're admitting in court that they happened.
He's not just thinking it up, it happened.
Now we know he was up to no good too.
No good.
Don't think I don't understand that.
But when you are upset in this moment
and you say, "I didn't think he..."
Did you think he didn't know or did you think...
I didn't think that
he really believed all those things.
JUDGE LAKE: That people were saying about you?
Right.
Because all of it isn't true is what you're saying.
DAVIES: Yes.
I'm going to admit to what the truth is
like I have done so far.
But as far as me hopping in and out of cars with guys,
leaving parties with guys, that's false.
What is Jayden's relationship like with Mr. Hunter?
He's present in the home.
But, he does not physically interact with Jayden...
JUDGE LAKE: Really?
DAVIES: Yes, Your Honor.
We just had a birthday party for Jayden.
Devon didn't show up.
Why didn't you show up to the child's birthday party, Mr. Hunter?
'Cause she was gonna be tripping on me and all kinds of stuff.
'Cause we weren't... Like at that time, she was mad at me, anyway.
Doesn't matter you were still supposed to show up to his birthday party.
If I came to the birthday party,
she would be jumping all over me
in front of all the guests at the birthday party.
But if this could potentially be your biological child
why wouldn't you just show up at the party?
It's not about Ms. Davies, it's about Jayden.
He didn't show up when I had the baby.
I didn't want to mess the party up.
Cause that's how she is going to do...
You felt like if you came you all would get into it
and then the party would be destroyed.
Exactly, the party would be over.
So my concern is this,
you two are living together now.
I could do more but...
BOTH: Yes.
So for four years you've been having this dispute.
And during our relationship he was denying that he was even with me
the whole time we were in a relationship.
And so this just led you to feel insecure...
Lonely,
and I wanted to have someone that was with me all the time.
Because he was out of the house 90% of the time!
'Cause she would kick me out.
She would kick me out, like, every week.
Yes. Because I'm always finding text messages.
You want to come home at 4:00 and 5:00 in the morning.
It happened like twice.
So, yeah, I was kicking him out.
Twice too many?
I had good reasons. I had a party, we had a party.
(AUDIENCE LAUGHS)
When did a party become a good reason to stay out till 5:00 in the morning
when you have a girlfriend at home?
And a four-year-old son. What grown man does that?
I have physical proof, that he's the father.
HUNTER: It happened only twice, Your Honor.
Only twice you stayed out till 5:00 in the morning?
HUNTER: Yes, Your Honor.
Jerome.
What day did you get to stay out till 5:00 in the morning?
I didn't do it.
Right.
(LAUGHING)
So, Ms. Davies, I heard you say, "I know for certain, I have proof."
I have evidence right here.
Jerome, may I see that?
DAVIES: Look at Mr. Hunter's hair and look at my son's hair.
They both have curly hair, nice hair.
My hair is nothing like that. My hair is nappy, I need a perm.
(AUDIENCE LAUGHING)
Can I just say...
Both of their hair look a mess,
but I'm going to give the baby a pass.
(LAUGHING)
All right.
JUDGE LAKE: Um...(LAUGHS)
HUNTER:I always get mine done, Your Honor.
JUDGE LAKE: And I understand
you're looking at texture of hair.
Don't say good hair, baby.
All hair, if you have some, is good.
All right.
Now, listen, the next piece of evidence, is what?
DAVIES: The height of my child, Your Honor.
A height chart? Explain this to me.
DAVIES: The average four-year old, Your Honor, is only 40 inches tall.
Jayden is 48 inches tall already.
My whole family and everyone on my side of the family is short.
The other possible father, he's average height.
Which Devon is 6'1".
So you feel like Jayden is tall.
Is tall.
And Mr. Hunter is tall.
Yes.
The other guy not so tall?
Not so tall.
JUDGE LAKE:Next, you submitted a photo.
Oh, he's so cute.
DAVIES:Thank you.
Jayden and Mr. Hunter, they're both slew footed, Your Honor.
I don't know if you know what that means.
I do.
Okay. Which means both of their feet goes out like this.
And they stand just like that.
He had to get that from Devon.
Now, I see it in Mr. Hunter, but do you really think Jayden...
DAVIES:Yes.
...looks slew footed right there?
DAVIES:In that picture he is probably playing and doing something else.
If there was another picture,
when he stands, he stands just alike, Your Honor.
Both of their feet are pointed outwards.
Now do you think this slew footed trait is genetic?
DAVIES: I think so.
No one in my family is slew footed, Your Honor.
The other guy isn't slew footed.
Devon is and so is my son.
Okay. So, Mr. Hunter, if today's results prove
that you are not Jayden's father,
where do we go from here?
I'm done. I'm done with the marriage and everything.
I'm not even, I'm just...
Wash my hands of everything.
JUDGE LAKE: And if you are,
are you gonna try to rebuild trust?
Put your wedding bands back on?
And you all try to pull this thing together?
Yes, Your Honor. I'm willing.
That's why we're here.
I'm willing to move forward,
put all the trust issues we had behind us.
So that...
I don't want Jayden feeling that...
How I'm feeling that his father is not there for him.
He knows who I am.
He knows just who I am.
With these results, this is either
gonna push us forward
or I guess we are done.
And that's why these results are so important.
DAVIES: Yes.
And I have them for you, Jerome.
Thank you.
You're welcome.
These results were prepared by DNA Diagnostics and they read as follows.
In the case of Davies v. Hunter,
when it comes to four-year-old Jayden,
it has been determined by this court...
Mr. Hunter.
You
are not the father.
I told you.
JUDGE LAKE: I'm very sorry.
(SOBBING)
(SNIFFLES)
Don't cry now.
(SNIFFLES)
Oh, my God.
Ms. Davies, are we to assume that this other gentleman
is Jayden's biological father,
the one you spoke about in your testimony?
Or is there someone else?
Let's be honest.
No, there is no one else, Your Honor.
I know the other guy has to be the father.
JUDGE LAKE: Jayden is four years old. That means
his entire life he thought Mr. Hunter is his father?
Yes. Yes.
Calls him "Daddy"?
HUNTER: Yes.
How long has this engagement been?
Maybe four, five months.
(DAVIES EXHALES)
We was going to get married.
Mr. Hunter,
is it possible to still grow this relationship and figure things out?
Your Honor, I'll still be there for him.
But, I'm not dealing with her no more.
I can't do it.
I can see that this upsets you very much too, Mr. Hunter.
Yes, it does. Really.
And just for her to sit there and lie like that
I don't understand it.
JUDGE LAKE: You do.
You all created...
It was just an environment
of infidelity.
Back and forth. You're supposed to be in a committed relationship.
You're supposed to be boyfriend and girlfriend.
And both of y'all are just sleeping with other people.
As you can see, four years later
the main person that's going to be hurt in this entire equation
is Jayden.
DAVIES:Yes, Your Honor.
So we have to figure out how to move forward.
Mr. Hunter has indicated that he still would like to be in Jayden's life.
So this will be between the two of you,
and how you handle it.
But I hope you keep this little boy first
because he is old enough to feel love and old enough to feel loss.
We have resources I want you to take advantage of.
And I want you to figure out how to help make this right for this child.
I wish you all the very best of luck.

Hello, Your Honor.
Hello.
This is the case of Curtis v. Buckley.
Thank you, Jerome. Good day, everyone.
AUDIENCE: Good day.
Miss Curtis, you say this court date
is extremely important to you.
You're here to prove
to your ex-fiance, Mr. Buckley,
that he fathered your 22-month-old son, Xavier.
Because his denial has left you homeless
and in need of help.
Yes, Your Honor.
Mr. Buckley, you say Miss Curtis is a cheater.
And today, the test will prove you are not the father,
is that correct?
Yes, Your Honor.
JUDGE LAKE: So Miss Curtis,
you say today's results mean everything.
Explain.
Well, Your Honor, I grew up with a father.
I know how important it is to have a father in your life.
And Mr. Buckley says it's very important
for our child to grow up with a father.
And so with him being in and out
of our lives and kicking us out of his...
AUDIENCE: Oh...
Out of his... (VOICE BREAKING)
(SOBBING)
JUDGE LAKE: Take your time. I know it's difficult.
CURTIS: With him being in and out of our life,
and kicking us,
not only me but his son, out of his apartment,
we landed in a homeless shelter.
I did not... That's not true, Your Honor.
And I was not known as Shampres Curtis.
I was known as Resident 1625,
sleeping in a twin-sized bed with my son.
That's not true, Your Honor.
CURTIS: Sharing...
I did not kick her out.
Sharing everything
with other residents in the homeless shelter.
You say he kicked you out, Miss Curtis?
He went to his landlord
and his landlord sent me an eviction notice.
I had just had surgery.
WOMAN: Oh, my.
Your, Your...
JUDGE LAKE: Is that true, Mr. Buckley?
Yes, that is true, Your Honor,
but I allowed her to live
in my apartment at that time.
I was being nice to her.
She got mad at me because I was with someone else.
I didn't want a relationship with her.
She told me she was gonna make my life a living hell
while living in my apartment
and that's why I called my landlord.
I was being nice to Mrs. Curtis.
JUDGE LAKE: At this point, did you believe
her son, Xavier, was your biological child?
No, Your Honor.
I... No, Your Honor.
Miss Curtis, in your mind,
while you're living with Mr. Buckley,
did you think he had accepted that Xavier
was his biological child?
CURTIS: Yes.
He said he had a little doubt
in his mind,
but that when he looked at Xavier,
that was his son,
that was his child, that he loved our child.
He gave him his last name.
Your Honor, I don't think
I can have kids
for multiple reasons.
CURTIS: It only takes one fast swimmer. One.
(CLEARS THROAT)
JUDGE LAKE: So you don't believe you can have children?
No, Your Honor.
Why?
BUCKLEY: Your Honor, um,
I was in a relationship before
and we tried to conceive a child.
We went to a fertility specialist
and we were on,
uh, medicine and kept up with ovulation dates
and the whole nine, and it didn't happen.
As soon as we separated, she ended up
having two other children
and that's... That happened,
and not only that relationship,
but with the following relationship that I was in.
Um, I just...
JUDGE LAKE: So you've never believed
you could have children?
BUCKLEY: No, Your Honor.
JUDGE LAKE: So what happens
when Miss Curtis tells you, "I'm pregnant?"
Told her, "Congratulations.
"Whose is it?"
No, you didn't.
BUCKLEY: That's pretty much what I said.
No, you said you told every other girl you're in a relationship with,
"Congratulations. Who's the father?"
But I was different.
That you were willing to step up and be his father...
I...
...which you haven't done.
I haven't done that because of you.
Because of me?
Yes.
It's just a drive away.
You got a car. You can drive.
You were living in my apartment.
I allowed you to live in my apartment.
You left because I didn't wanna be with you.
And still didn't come to see him.
No, I didn't leave because I didn't wanna be with you.
Yes.
No.
Every time I came over there
it was pure heck.
We lived together...
BUCKLEY: I allowed you to...
You had your own apartment.
Yes.
But every time I went home,
you asked us to come back over.
Yes. But I...
Because you wanted to spend time with your son
and I wasn't standing between that.
But you are now.
No, I'm not standing between that,
but I'm not gonna let you mess with my head.
You can leave me out of the equation
and see your son.
That's your child.
Don't play with me.
BUCKLEY: Your Honor,
I have multiple reasons to have doubt
about Xavier being my child.
This is not about
your relationship.
It really is about Xavier,
this child
and his paternity.
That's it.
When she told you she was pregnant,
did you believe that there maybe was a miracle
and you did father this child?
BUCKLEY: Not at first, Your Honor, no.
JUDGE LAKE: What happened?
Um,
as the months continued to go along, um,
I continued to get older and I wanted a child.
I accepted Xavier as my child
even though I don't think
I can have kids, Your Honor.
Joey, I know when I conceived.
I know who I was with when I conceived.
I know who you were with, too,
and it wasn't just me.
So staying at your house and spending Christmas with you,
who was I having sex with, your brothers,
your uncle?
I don't know.
What happened during the conception period?
It was during the holidays?
CURTIS: Yes, it was Christmas.
BUCKLEY: She told me...
I was supposed to go home
for Christmas and I couldn't afford to go home.
So, he volunteered for me to spend Christmas with him and his family.
Your Honor, she also told me she had sex with someone while she was pregnant.
So, why would I...
While I was pregnant
is different than when I conceived.
Before he was conceived,
you were with other people.
No, I wasn't.
BUCKLEY: Yes, you were.
I worked.
Eight, nine hours a day,
and I went over to your apartment.
That means you got plenty of other hours left.
From leaving work at 4:30
and being at your house by 5:00?
When do I have time between packing my clothes
and getting a ride over there
to have sex with somebody else?
'Cause I'm not a five-minute quickie.
So take me to the day
you gave birth, Miss Curtis.
I was in labor for 13 and a half hours.
Mr. Buckley was with me
for the whole 13 and a half hours.
I have pictures of him at the hospital.
JUDGE LAKE: I'd like to see those.
CURTIS: I ended up having to have an emergency C-section.
Thank you.
CURTIS: Because little Xavier's oxygen level dropped
and he was in distress.
And they took me in for an emergency C-section
and my mom came with me.
And when I woke up, and they wheeled me
by the nursery to see him,
Mr. Buckley was standing there
with tears running down his face.
That was the moment that I fell in love with Mr. Buckley.
He was standing... He'd been standing there
since he came into the nursery
until I got rolled to my room
about 2:30.
That's a couple of hours of him standing there
and just looking at our beautiful son,
something that we made together,
something that...
I never even thought was possible.
Something that I don't think is possible, Your Honor.
But in this photo, it doesn't look like...
I see tears in your eyes,
Mr. Buckley.
What do you feel when you look at that picture?
BUCKLEY: It's impossible to describe.
Uh, there's no way to put it into words.
Um...
(STAMMERING) I just don't... Like I said,
I don't think I can have kids. I've been there. I tried and...
When you look at that picture,
it doesn't look like you don't believe.
It doesn't look like you weren't there.
It looks like you're in the moment
and you're looking at your new baby.
What were you feeling in the moment?
My heart and my mind are at a constant battle.
Um, my heart wants him to be,
but my mind knows better.
What you see right there is my heart. (VOICE BREAKING)
CURTIS: If your mind knew better,
why did you sign the birth certificate?
Because of my heart.
Why'd you sign the acknowledgment of paternity?
You wanna talk about you have doubts that you couldn't have kids?
I went through chemo and radiation.
They told me all my eggs were fried,
that I would never be a mother...
(TEARFULLY) But I'm a mother to a beautiful little boy.
BUCKLEY: Your Honor, Miss Curtis and I
were not monogamous at the time.
Um...
CURTIS: You weren't.
You can't say what I wasn't.
She is extremely promiscuous.
Um,
my witness here can tell you a little bit about that later,
but, um...
So you're saying, sir,
in addition to your doubt
as it relates to your own medical challenges
and not believing and being told you would not be able
to father children,
you also believe that Miss Curtis
was very promiscuous at the time?
Correct, Your Honor.
JUDGE LAKE: I'd like to hear from your witness.
Please stand, ma'am.
Hello.
I'd like to hear from your witness.
Please stand, ma'am.
BUNCH: Hello.
Hello.
State your name for the court.
Anika Bunch.
Ms. Bunch, you are Mr. Buckley's...
BUNCH: Friend.
All right.
And what information do you have concerning,
um, Xavier's paternity?
Your Honor, I have a lot of information.
I actually brought a sketch with me.
JUDGE LAKE: I would like to see it.
The exhibit here, please step to it.
This right here, Your Honor, this is my house, my back door.
And this is Mrs. Curtis' front door.
And as you can see...
CURTIS: That's not true.
...I can see everything.
We were friends. We've been friends.
Uh, I told her,
"I see you."
When we found out she was pregnant,
she had a boyfriend.
He passed away.
They were together, and mind you,
there were other men.
JUDGE LAKE: So what you're saying is from your back door...
CURTIS: That's not true, Your Honor.
I lived at the top of the hill.
She lived at the bottom.
This is my... This is my house. And this is hers.
And I lived on this end, and she lived on this end.
BUNCH: Her back door is right here. I see everything.
There's a straight line of sight from her back door to her front door.
She knows, and she came and confided in me
and told me about the other guys...
What exactly could you see
from your door to hers?
I could see men coming out of this door and her running up the...
CURTIS: How? When I don't really use that door?
And her running up to the Africans up at
the other apartments up top.
The Africans I was teaching English to
because he came from Africa and didn't speak English.
That's a lie.
That is a lie.
He didn't speak English.
BUNCH: He spoke English to me.
Thank you so much for your testimony, ma'am.
So Miss Curtis,
you are denying Ms. Bunch's accusations,
is that true?
CURTIS: Yes, Your Honor.
There was other men coming in and out of my house,
but I wasn't sleeping with those other men.
JUDGE LAKE: And there was no old boyfriend
that was still lingering around?
We had stopped messing around before I even met Mr. Buckley.
That's not true, Your Honor.
CURTIS: And he passed away.
That's not true, Your Honor.
I was told stories
about her being with him
while we were together.
She would go back to her apartment and mess around,
but at the time Xavier was conceived,
we were not in a relationship.
Were you in a relationship at the time
Xavier was conceived, Miss Curtis?
No, Your Honor. I was not.
JUDGE LAKE: You weren't.
Me and Mr. Buckley were just hanging out and kicking it
and having sex.
Casual sex.
So you're on the birth certificate, Mr. Buckley.
Are you...
CURTIS: And I have proof of that, too.
I'd like to see that.
Are you currently paying child support?
Um, I'm on child support.
No, he quit his job so he wouldn't have to.
I'm working right now. I'm missing out
on work right now.
CURTIS: Just started.
I just started back.
JUDGE LAKE: All right.
Okay.
So here on the birth certificate,
father's name, Xavier Buckley.
BUCKLEY: Yes, Your Honor.
JUDGE LAKE: That's you?
BUCKLEY: Correct.
JUDGE LAKE: You signed it voluntarily?
Yes, I... Yes, Your Honor.
JUDGE LAKE: And is there a child support order?
Yes, Your Honor.
JUDGE LAKE: There is?
Yes.
JUDGE LAKE: How much per week are you obligated to pay?
Um, I'm not exactly sure.
Um...
He was supposed to pay
$216 a month, and then when he quit his job,
they dropped it down to $80 a month.
I do everything on my own.
Are you current on your child support, sir?
BUCKLEY: No, Your Honor.
CURTIS: No, he's $3,000 behind.
Your Honor, I just got my first child support statement
in the mail, so it's not like I've been neglecting it.
And like I said, she was living in my apartment.
CURTIS: No, because you got child support, um, papers
when I was living there.
BUCKLEY: You checked the mail. I wasn't there.
CURTIS: You were there because you asked me to call
and have you taken off child support
because you were willing to be with me.
No, because you were living in my apartment.
Because we were living together.
I wasn't living there.
Exactly.
So why would I take you off child support? You ain't doing nothing.
Because you were living in my apartment.
And?
You're still not providing for your child.
Mr. Buckley, if you said you had doubts,
you say it's your heart that drove you to sign
the birth certificate even though your mind had doubts.
Did you understand that because you signed that birth certificate,
you would be legally obligated
to provide support for this child?
Yes, Your Honor. My family made me well-aware of that
and my entire family begged me not to sign it.
Uh, like I said, I did it out of my heart.
JUDGE LAKE: Because even today, if the results prove
that you are not
Xavier's biological father,
you are still deemed to be
his legal father.
There's no guarantee
that the court in your home state
will remove you from that birth certificate
or relieve you of that legal obligation.
Do you understand?
I do now, Your Honor.
That's an obligation that extends
minimally 18 years.
CURTIS: I could care less if my son grew up with this man in his life.
I've been doing this by myself
for almost two years.
That's why I allowed her
to move into my apartment
against my landlord's wishes.
And then made it so unbearably uncomfortable.
I was never there.
CURTIS: You'd come in on nights after being out kicking it.
Wanna sleep in the bed with us.
I would sleep on the couch. You would get mad at me
because I would try and sleep on the couch.
CURTIS: No, no, no, no.
You would come and crawl in bed.
That's a... That's a lie, Your Honor.
It is obvious you all have
so many unresolved issues.
I don't even know. Are you broken up?
It sounds like you're still together.
CURTIS: No, we're not together.
BUCKLEY: No, Your Honor.
You act like it.
This is about Xavier.
JUDGE LAKE: Well, that's why we're here.
This court exists because we wanna protect
Xavier.
We want him to know
who his biological father is
and we wanna figure out
how we can help you all move forward.
I have the results for you.
These results were prepared by DNA Diagnostics and they read as follows.
In the case of Curtis v. Buckley,
when it comes to 22-month-old
Xavier Buckley,
it has been determined by this court,
Mr. Buckley, you...
Are not his father.
Oh, baby.
(SOBBING)
I'm very sorry.
Miss Curtis?
I wasn't with anybody else.
Obviously you were with someone else.
BUNCH: Jesus, Lordy.
Xavier was born 40 weeks after conception.
December 24th to September 24th,
is 40 weeks.
I need you to stop this right now, babe.
(CURTIS SNIFFLING)
He's not the father.
I don't know what you're wrestling with, sweetheart,
but you are a ball of nerves, anger...
You're just wound up.
Your Honor, I'm still willing to be in Xavier's life.
The way he looks at me,
the way he runs up to me.
Now all the drama and extracurricular stuff can be cut short.
I'm still willing to be in his life.
(AUDIENCE APPLAUDING)
If Mr. Buckley is going to be
in Xavier's life,
that means you two are going to have to be in communication.
And we're rooting for you all because we're rooting for Xavier.
I wish you all the very best of luck.
Court is adjourned.

TV Scenes That People Always Fast Forward Through - Duration: 4:51.
Even the biggest fans of a TV show sometimes have to cry uncle and skip through a bit whenever
their least favorite scenes come up on screen.
From triggering tragedies to stomach-churning body horror and cringeworthy romantic hookups,
here are the scenes that leave people lunging for their remote controls the most.
When it comes to onscreen gore, there's almost nothing The Walking Dead isn't allowed to
do.
Since the whole series revolves around the zombie apocalypse, the grosser it gets, the
better, except for one glaring exception.
In the season six finale, the villainous Negan promised some serious retribution, and he
delivered it in the season 7 opener.
Audiences familiar with The Walking Dead comics were well prepared for what they were about
to see, but that still didn't soften the sight of Glenn's battered face.
Some viewers even threw in the towel on the show altogether as a result of this savagery.
While Walking Dead fans might be willing to wade through endless carnage everywhere else,
this is one scene that's proven to be too much to take.
The dystopian portrait of the possible future America of The Handmaid's Tale is staggeringly
awful in many ways.
There are public executions of dissidents, and the whole show revolves around the endless
subjugation of women.
It's been largely lauded as a cautionary tale for the modern world.
However, there was one moment of torment that left audiences crying foul.
In the second season, Offred, a.k.a. June, is nearing the end of her pregnancy and has
become increasingly obstinate to the family she lives with.
To punish her for her disobedience, and to speed up delivery of the baby, Serena helps
her husband Fred violate June as audiences are left to zero in on her tortured expressions.
The episode's writer later noted that this scene was meant to highlight the banality
of the evil of the entire enterprise, but no matter the intentions, a lot of viewers
were exceedingly disturbed and consider the scene to be utterly unwatchable.
There have been a lot of scenes in HBO's Game of Thrones that have caused an uproar among
audiences.
There was the Red Wedding, Sansa's wedding night with Ramsay Bolton, and Lady Walda and
her baby being left to the dogs.
But the one scene that has been seared into everyone's memory forever is Theon Greyjoy's
mutilation.
In the third season, Ramsay Bolton captures Theon and tortures him into complete submission.
To ensure his complete humiliation and defeat, Ramsay decides to relieve Theon of his manhood.
As if the cruelty of the moment isn't apparent enough, Ramsay's blithe indifference to the
horrors of his own making renders the scene almost unendurable.
There's a lot to like about HBO's miniseries The Night Of.
However, there was one element of the show that seemed to serve little purpose other
than to make people queasy: the excessive attention to John Stone's chronic eczema.
With scene after scene spent documenting Stone's many attempts at home foot treatment, enough
is enough once the Crisco comes out.
In the fourth episode, Stone uses a vat of shortening and some saran wrap to soothe his
dogs before finally paying a visit to the doctor who can prescribe him something beyond
his "Mickey Mouse medicine."
With all the painstaking close-ups of his condition, this scene is bound to offend the
squeamish.
Not to mention, it doesn't really serve any purpose towards advancing the plot.
While it may not be nearly as bad as forced castration or even scaly feet, another TV
event that's completely off-putting for fans is the moment when Friends' Rachel and Joey
try to take their budding romance to the next level.
After an unusual courtship that has seemed completely one-sided, the two start fooling
around during the Barbados trip in season 9.
But they put the brakes on letting it go anywhere until they receive the blessing of her ex,
Ross.
Once Ross gives the okay, any excitement over their forbidden attraction is gone, and the
two come to realize there's nothing real between them.
The spark of curiosity that brought them together on the sly in the first place is doused, and
what remains is an uncomfortable attempt to make something happen anyway.
The scene that results is exhausting, and the entire effort is cringeworthy for even
the most diehard Friends obsessives.
What's worse than an ugly kiss?
ABC's otherwise beloved Lost also had a few episodes and moments that missed the mark,
but perhaps no scenes were more universally hated than the ones involving Nikki and Paulo.
In the third season, an entire episode is inexplicably devoted to the two supporting
characters who also survived the crash of Oceanic Flight 815.
Nikki and Paolo's backstory of betrayal and thievery and paralyzing spider bites is completely
pointless to the rest of the show's narrative.
In fact, if not for a couple of throwaway scenes involving the central characters, the
entire episode could be removed from rotation without costing viewers anything of substance.

Seasonal Annoying Disorder | 22 Minutes - Duration: 1:30.
Can't believe it's only November.
Ugh, I hate winter.
Not this gal.
I say let it snow.
I'll take minus 30 over plus 30 any day of the week.
Am I right? High five!
(voice over) Do you know someone who's a little
too cheerful this time of year?
They may be suffering from a common condition known as S.A.D. or Seasonal Annoying Disorder.
I just love how it's dark when I leave in the morning and then dark again when I'm going home.
I think that must be what it's like to be a vampire, huh?
Plus my doctor says I have too much vitamin D anyway, so.
S.A.D. is a form of delusional psychosis whose symptoms include:
You know, if I had one complaint about winter it would that they start playing Christmas
music on November 1st.
If it was up to me they'd start right after Labor Day.
If symptoms persist for more than four months, talk to your doctor.
Chances are you may just be annoying.

6 Most Epic Ninja Moments - Duration: 4:10.
Tyler "Ninja" Blevins may seem like your average streamer, but this Fortnite player is anything
but average.
Here are some of the best moments from Ninja's epic streams.
Fortnite doesn't have to be an intense game.
Ninja's streams often consist of fun and games within the game.
But keeping in mind Ninja's past as a pro Halo player, things sometimes get serious.
In one particular instance, he starts a killing spree in Tilted Towers.
With 80 players on the map, that's a lot of gunfire to avoid, but Ninja makes three kills
within two minutes.
And he just keeps going, relentlessly seeking out enemies and taking them out with a well-practiced
precision.
In total, Ninja makes 32 kills all on his lonesome, hopping around the map with an ease
that only a true master can attain.
The Fortnite Celebrity Pro-Am paired 50 pro Fortnite players like Ninja with more mainstream
celebrities and gave them a chance to compete for a $1,000,000 prize for charity.
Ninja was paire d with DJ Marshmello, who in Deadmau5 -like fashion wears a giant marshmallow
helmet.
The helmet apparently has no effect on his ability to play, because he remained at Ninja's
side until the last moments of the very last round.
In the end, Ninja made the winning kill, earning the duo the shiny, golden pickaxe trophy.
"Here at the Fortnite Pro-Am, him and Marshmello come out on top."
Ninja's stream alone brings in big numbers, but adding an international celebrity to the
mix takes things to the next level.
That's what happened when Ninja teamed up with rapper Drake.
Drake, playing with the handle TheBoyDuddus on PlayStation 4, is a good player, his Reaper
skin a testament to his skill and apparent Fortnite habit.
What might be the most "epic" part of this duo is that this wasn't a lone incident — Drake
and Ninja have paired up to play duos a few other times, with Drake once promising a $5,000
donation should they win.
"I got 5k donation if you get this dub right now"
Yeah?"
They did, and Drake ponied up.
During the GuardianCon Charity Blitz, streamers banded together to raise a total of $2.7 million
dollars for St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
The final donations came during Ninja's own stream.
To encourage viewers to be giving, he had several incentives for viewers.
$50,000 meant he would have to re-dye his hair, $150,000 promised a cosplay stream,
and the $200,000 tier put Ninja's own skin on the line: he'd have to get a tattoo.
After meeting $150,000, an anonymous $100,000 dollar donation suddenly pops up.
Ninja doesn't even notice it until a few seconds later, but he immediately realized what it
meant for his skin:
"Daddy gets a llama tattoo mommy."
Titled Towers is usually a spot on the map that players want to get in and then get out
of as quickly as possible.
For Ninja, however, the target-rich environment is apparently a playground.
He takes out two players within thirty seconds of landing, then shoots down yet another player
in a building across the street.
By the time he's cleared the streets and buildings, he's gotten seven kills in an ever-shrinking
map, and he sets his sights on all the poor souls who tried to flee the city.
As the storm closes in on the Dusty Divot, Ninja has made a total of 19 kills and only
needs one more to win.
It comes down to a confusion of walls and ramps until, ultimately, Ninja proves to be
the fastest builder and sends his opponent to a spiky grave.
In anticipation of Avengers: Infinity War, Epic Games teamed up with Marvel for what's
been called the most ambitious crossover of all time.
In a limited-time mashup mode, players could get their mitts on the Infinity Gauntlet and
be granted superpowers.
Ninja is usually hard to take down, but with the power of the Infinity Gauntlet, he's unstoppable.
Taking destiny into his own hands, Thaninja smashes his way around the Fatal Fields, knocking
enemies into different time zones.
Thanos is overpowered to begin with, but with Ninja at the controls, he takes out 16 players
and wins his way to a Victory Royale.
Even better, he makes it look like a snap.

Banking Giant Blames "Computer Glitch" After Forcing Hundreds Of People Out Of Their Homes - Duration: 4:00.
Banking giant Wells Fargo claims that a massive round of home foreclosures recently was due
to a computer error, but they haven't said whether or not they'll give people back their
homes that lost their homes because of this computer error.
Now, we did a story on this back in August, right?
This happened one other time where there was a computer error and you had, I'm trying to
remember ... I think, you had, yeah, 625 borrowers that were incorrectly denied mortgage modifications
and ended up losing their homes.
Many of them ended up losing their home.
But Wells Fargo says, "Oh, no.
It was just a glitch.
You know, we're pretty busy.
We're making a lot of money and it's a glitch.
Sorry."
Now, same thing happens again.
Only this time, this is directly affecting foreclosures.
Right?
This glitch is actually putting people, what, about 500 people out of their homes?
Right, right.
Right now, we're looking at 545 on top of the 400 who lost it in the last computer glitch.
And here's what's, not ironic, but very odd about this computer glitch.
It's only targeting people who seem to owe less than their home is worth, meaning that
if Wells Fargo forecloses on it, they can make a profit.
It's not targeting people who are underwater on their home.
So where if Wells Fargo acquired it via foreclosure and sold it, they still lose money, none of
those people have been affected, and there's plenty of them out there who owe more than
it's worth.
This is targeting people who are coming for help.
They know they're in financial distress.
That's why they're trying to seek these mortgage readjustments, and rather than having a person
review it and look at the paper and say, "Okay, this checks out.
You're okay," they're putting it through this automated program, which is designed to fail,
and they're denying these people these remodifications.
They're losing their homes as a result, because they can no longer pay their monthly payment.
And that's where we're at.
And now, once they get popped for it, because the foreclosure bills ...
Well, popped doesn't mean anything.
You get caught, just caught.
They get caught.
Yeah.
They get, "Okay, we're going to fine you $50 million.
Well, they made that while you and I have been sitting here talking, okay?
So $50 million doesn't mean anything.
Only thing that means something is when you say, as we've said so many times, "You know,
why can't we put these people in prison like we do any other criminal?"
These are criminals.
This is not a glitch.
Okay, if it's a glitch, it sure is well-designed, isn't it?
Yeah.
The glitch happens, just glitch on people that are most susceptible to being a victim.
That's where the glitch falls.
That's the glitch goes after people we want to go after.
We glitch those people.
That's what this really means.
Right.
I mean you're not seeing people with these huge mansions out there.
They're not having glitches in their computer or paperwork here.
And here's the thing is that Wells Fargo set aside, I think, about $8 million, because
of the victims, $8 million, here's your settlement.
But when you're talking about nearly one thousand people who lost their homes, many more were
victims of this, that's pennies compared to the profits that Fargo already made selling
those houses.
They made way over $8 million selling a thousand homes that they took fraudulently.
Well, you understand, and we've talked about this before, they calculated the cost of doing
business.
It's like the same things with the pharmaceuticals.
Pharmaceuticals on the market, we know it causes kidney damage.
They calculate how many kidneys are going be damaged, how many people are going to die,
how many billions of dollars we make just by keeping this on the market.
They do the math, they said, "Ah, we can keep it out there.
We can pay off at the end."
And it's a good business decision.
It's the same thing here.

All the characters of the movie live in the shelling area
"Separatists"
By Irina Lashkevich and Dan Levi
*Reconstruction after artillery shelling*
So now You won't go out.
Probably it will stop soon. Sit for a while.
We have a friend, who, actually, came for the second time, he was in DNR...
Here we are. You see, you are involved.
Ok, now you can hear it distinctly too.
These three streets were under shelling all the time,
My neighbor burned out. Only this house stays unharmed.
On that side, everything is smashed
Oh, here we are already. "Good evening! We are here"
Catch the puppy, oh, it escapes
a flower
The shelling flies either from Piesky or from Opytne, on that side.
I can see it staying here, I mean, if there is smoke that means it's landed somewhere close
This is my "observation post".
If there is whistle and it flies over the house - it comes from the village or farther.
If no whistle in audible, only shot can be heard - it's somewhere close.
God's blessing is on us, Thanks God.
We hope He will be with us
This is the worst thing. I wish children didn't remember it.
They don't care
wether they are shelling or not
Life is life. Agree?
We have to move on.
Look at them
Here we are, now we will have teatime.
I was laying in my bad, then i got up, got dressed, sat down there and was sitting.
Walked out on the street, opened the door and, suddenly, BOOM
I ran back into the house
I was praying to the God: "Please, God, stave it off. What should I do?"
Starvation is as horrible as war, or, probably, even worse
At wartime you are expecting to be killed or wounded. While starving - you have nothing left
That is so terrible!
I used to have hairdressing. I was wearing curls
That time it cost 2.50. I really like curly hair
I like hairdress and here... this thing...an ampyx
I used to wear heels, because I'm short
Used a lipstick
Once I was sent by our canteen on cources to Kharkiv
Girls sad, that we are going to go to a hairdressing salon
I've got my hair permed, my eyebrows dyed, my lashes
We'd arrived. I'm the first to answer
We hadn't learn our lessons that time. I answered, that I know nothing
The teacher started to laugh and told me "I see, You had no time for lessons, You were in a salon"
I answered Yes and got the poorest mark. I was so worried about this.
But then I corrected it.
That was the war not like this one.
They shoot at people
That's terrific. I opened the door and, Oh my God, got back.
I think, Oh God, where do I go?
I wanted to get to the railway station and hide in a tunnel
One night I ran to the tunnel. Shelling's everywhere. I decided '' If it kills me - be it so"
I was running for my life
I was sitting in the tunnel till the morning light
*sings a Ukrainian song*
Here on the street, near the road, you can get a cross, wreaths and a coffin for 450
A coffin maker gets 1000
Yes, I do, I have collected everything, but slippers
I need to buy slippers
Here, I have a black dress
Well, here i have skirts, underwear...
Here is a jacket, they will dress me in it, on the dress
I have it so
I have evetyrhing I need. But I'm not going to die
That's the story.
I want to live little longer. I don't want to die.
Probably, the Death will not come at all. It will run away from me.
He has a lot of subscribers on his channel
Yeah, 82. That's a lot.
-I play war games -I like Avataria (VK game) -I prefer playing outside
Two shells landed there
Sleep a peaceful sleep, go to school, walk alone or with my friends
Now you can enter the area and the end.
There was no curpew, no trip wire between trees
-My dad was born in Ukraine - We all were born in Ukraine
Come on, come on
The shelling was so strong, we didn't know where to run
It lasted for half a year, untill they got the airport. The airport is close to us
Where should I run? Stay in a corner
Some women ran to the railway station. There's a bombshelter. But I can't walk
I can sit and I sit only. I can't get there
Where do I run?
*cites poetry*
My neighbors were sharing the yard, I was there as a witness. The quarrel over 40 cm, who is to blame.
She asks me, I stay and answer
She says: "You live in Ukraine, You must answer in Ukrainian"
I answer: "I must not! I love your language, I speak it better than any of you,
since you are forcing me to speak it, I will answer in Russian
She told me that she's a judge, I answered: "Be a prosecutor!"
I told her exactly so: "I know the language better than you"
We used to have Ukrainian lessons at the school
Nobody forced us. We could learn Ukrainian, we could learn Russian
Now you are trying to make me speak it
When I was leaving the yard I declaimed a poem in Ukrainian
I told her: "You will never do such things, you will never write a poem like mine in Ukrainian"
I told her I'm going to write a poem to her daughter, in the gentle, melodic and beautiful language
And I immediately dictated to her: *reads a poem in Ukrainian*
You are making me to speak Ukrainian in the court, but I don't want to. Accept me as I am.
They didn't give us language...
When I was trying to get cable (There were cable factories in Leningrad, Kyibyshev and Georgia)
I arrivid in Georgia, all the documents in two languages, while Stalin ruled.
A Gorgian reads in the Georgian language, I read in Russian, we both sigh it, I get the cable and leave.
So it was possible!
Now I'll make strong English tea
I took off heels at 85
He was gone for two month. We believed we lost him.
Suddenly I see him approaching
I ask: "Bor'ka, is it you?"
He couldn't climb the stairs
Then our soldiers told
they took him somewhere
He was barking on thieves
He could approach anybody, so someone threw him in a well.
A soldier felt pity to him and saved him
There were a lot of dead dogs, some of them were shoot, but he was still alive.
He came home after
Someone buys necks and brings it here.
It's a good thing. "Make a soup", they say. I do understand I can eat bread with tea or anything, but an animal doesn't understand it.
So i cut it to cats, to feed them
They begin at 5 a.m
Yesterday, for example, at 5.05 a.m, after the builders left, they begun shelling
It continued up to 8.00a.m or even 9.00 a.m
I say: "Brashik, come on, shelling is on". He is running for his life on our floor. He's afraid.
Me cats are afraid too
These all are mine
Beautiful. I don't know how they still love me.
They are jealous, too
This spotty one, the smallest, he alway lie with me, on my hand.
The black one sees it - he immediately sits on my breast and have his place there
Beware of being killed today
Oh, I look like... Let it be
You know, I can't hear it.
You know why?
Because of a bus stop. It's always so noisy, I can't hear shelling
It is good
The wires are making noise
I hear it is close, but at whole, I can't hear more
Who am I?
Ukrainians call us "separatists", but we are the most sincere people.
There is no place on Earth with more whole-hearted and good people, as we are in Donbas
God gave us life
He gave you life because you are a human, he gave you soul, he did, he gave you the destiny
You have to live. The wheel of your life will spin.
Wherever you go - it will follow you
You can never escape from it. It is with you through the whole life
The Destiny
Thank you God for I have nothing to fear
if the Heavenly spirit is with me
Despite sorrow and miseries are following me, You will save me and help me.

I have seen the place
In my sleep at night
If I reach out I can touch it
Still a world away
Till the stars align
Hear a call, I feel it coming
Where I wanna be
Young eternity
Somewhere that we can go to
We will never fade
Out there is a way
Come with me let me show you
So meet me on the horizon
At the point of no return
Close your eyes and you'll find it
Touch the light and let it burn
We're going where there's no coming back
Disappearing to the everlast
So meet me on the horizon
At the point
At the point of no return
Standing on the edge, will you cross the line
Will we take the fall together
We can lose our breath, getting lost in time
We can slip into forever
Where I wanna be, on eternity
Somewhere that we can go to
We will never fade, out there is a way
Come with me, let me show you

Save scummin for you :3 (also elpehlt) - Duration: 3:21.
Hello, this guide is to show how to both fight Elphelt and how to save scum if you fuck up.
first we need to explain the micro you will need to do when the battle starts, once it starts you will want to move your units into an X shaped echelon as shown from 0:13-0:17
(pause here) Now that we are in position we need to wait for her skill to start and see who she targets, if it is the back two dps (sop and 15 in this case)
as you see here sop is the one targeted, and if your dps is level 60-89 you don't want them to get hit by her first skill, because of this we shall save scum :3 ~~like the tryhards we are~~
to save scum you first need to exit the app and close it, once you do that reopen the game, you should get a prompt talking about how the game was closed while in battle once you see that your good
save scumming is simple tho one condition applies, you can not save scum if the battle is lost i.e. the banner for losing shows up.
*imagine some sweet ass elevator music*
*some rockergate music*
god my internet is trash when loading this game, but as you saw i accidentally skipped the prompt but thats the on that tells you, that you logged out in battle
now just go back to battle like normal, note you can use that orange arrow to be quicker
now that we are back in you should notice we are re entering the battle from the start, no damage taken, and no penalty, but she is at full health just like you.
do the same thing, as i said in the beginning X formation and wait for her skill to proc and check
quick thing to note, see how she jumps back at around 1:42 that's your cue shes about to use her skill, it will happen before the boxes, so when she does that be quick on looking who she targets. (thanks to ceia for the information about that)
now she targeted a non-dps unit which is what we want. Now before her skill goes off with retreat the targeted unit as shown, this will happen 2-4 times depending on your dps and is slightly rng based
as you can see no damage taken by any units which is good for S ranking her for the seither.
she targeted another unit and not a dps which is good, tho just know if she targets a dps unit at this point (hp is less than 30-40%) you should be good, just retreat and wait.
and here we are with the S rank, this guide should work for levels from 70-100 dolls with 2 dps units. the ultimate goal is to keep your total hp ABOVE 70% tho a level 90+ rfhg echelon wont need to micro as much or even deal with her skill
thank you for your time i do hope this helps someone. p.s. Git Gud
You can now leave the video, but remember that Rockergate music? you can listen to the rest of it here, enjoy tho if i need to take it out i will :fncFat:

AdventDrabbles! - Duration: 7:52.
Hey there! It's Diane, the nursing geek. Today I'm going to talk about something
called AdventDrabbles. Now this came up in a conversation between me and Kate
Cavanaugh. If I can remember which video we were commenting on of hers, I will
link it below. Otherwise I'll just link her channel, but if you haven't found her
already, oh my gosh! You need to and go subscribe to her. Anyway we were talking
about our plans for the remainder of the year with writing, and I had said that
well once NaNoWriMo is over, I'm gonna put that story aside, let it marinate for
a bit. A lot of people say should give that at least two months. I don't usually
give stories that long, but this is a very different story, so I might.
Definitely at least a month. And one of the things I like to do every December
is participate in something called AdventDrabbles. and Kate said,
"AdventDrabbles? What is that? You need to explain what that is and tell me about it and
make a video about it." So here you go. There are basically three questions
embedded in that, I think. What's Advent? What's a drabble? Ergo, what are AdventDrabbles?
Officially, really, Advent is the Catholic season of four weeks leading up
to Christmas. In the secular celebration of Christmas it tends to mean the days
starting from December 1st through Christmas.
For purposes of this specific... challenge, I guess I'll call it, or... it's not exactly
a challenge... it sort of is... but it's the entire month of December.
What are drabbles? Drabbles, in the strictest definition of the term, are stories that
are exactly 100 words. Not 99. Not 101. 100. Your whole story right there. Now people
use the word travel to mean "short-short fiction" all the time.
And a lot of writers who participate in AdventDrabbles do use that definition,
including me sometimes. I do like the discipline of trying to write a complete
story in 100 words, though. Not too often do I see drabbles outside the realm of
transformative fiction because, let's face it, if you have to establish your
characters, establish your setting, establish your just overall plot and
everything, that... that's a lot to do in a hundred words.
So having existing characters, existing setting, existing understanding about
motivations and plot is a big help. The one place I've seen drabbles in published
original fiction is actually Lois McMaster Bujold's CryoBurn. I'll link to the
Goodreads on that below. She sort of... she did her epilogue as a series of drabbles
looking at the aftermath of that particular book from various different
points of view. But, again, that meant she already had the characters, already had
the setting, already had some basic understanding and the reader already had
some basic understanding of the characters' motivations. So I'm not sure
how much interest this will be to
people who are not writing transformative or fanfiction, although it
could be a really cool exercise to expand on your own work. And if you
really want to try to just start from scratch and write the story with just a
hundred words and no background, I so want to read that, because that is a really
tall order.
What is AdventDrabbles exactly? It's a community that has migrated across
different blogging platforms. Currently, I'm going to point to the Dearmwidth
incarnation of it, because that's what was used last year. I don't know if it's
going to also be on Dreamwidth this year or if it's going to migrate to Tumblr or
something. But if so, I'll add some follow-up information, because I'm
recording this *way* early. The way it works is Aslis-anne, who is the head of the
community or who founded the community, she solicits prompt ideas from people,
usually starting somewhere in November so that she already has a bank to start
with, and then she uses this little graphic of a Christmas tree
which has all different numbers for all the days of the month. They are all flat
at first. When December first comes around, you'll pull up the entry for
December first and that one will be flashing at you on the the one so that
it looks like, "Oh hey, somebody put a Christmas light on there!" And you click
on that, and you will get the prompt for the day,
generally in visual format although she also always gives a verbal format for if
the link is not working or if you are using a screen reader so the image is
not particularly helpful by itself. So you can either just get the verbal
prompt or get the visual prompt, most of which tend to be very Christmas themed
or at least winter themed.
There's no requirement that your... whatever drabbles you write have anything
to do with Christmas. Depending on what the canon is you're writing from, that's
probably gonna tell you what the characters celebrate (if anything) in the
middle of winter. So you can run with that I've seen people run in all sorts
of interesting directions with that. Then you can post your contribution, your
response to that prompt, and somebody collects everything at the end of the
day and just does like a summary post of everything that's been shared for the
day. The vast majority of participants are writing within the Harry Potter
fandom, but there are others represented so there's not really a limitation and
some people do write original fiction, or based on their original fiction I should
say, so that is absolutely fine too. So if you are interested, come play along. Even
if you don't decide to post, if you just like getting a prompt a day to write
something short, whether it's completely brand new or whether it's to do with
characters you're already familiar with, it can be just something to get get your
writing flowing for the day before you head into whatever else you were going
to do. So there it is linked below, and that's it for now. Until next time, have a
great day. Bye!

Yu-Gi-Oh! Condemned Counter Fairy! Deck Profile November 2018 - Duration: 15:51.
(Oblivion)
(Do you think he's safe?)
Kia ora koutou I am the Casual Kiwi and this is my Condemned Counter fairies deck
profile for November 2018 it is incredibly fun to see this deck
come together and I've been thoroughly enjoying playing it at locals so without
further adieu, let's jump right into the profile so beginning with the light fairy
lineup we have three Minerva scholar of the sky this is a definite three of in
the deck it has a permanent 500 attack boost every time you activate a counter
trap which is incredibly helpful because you don't have a lot of high attack
monsters in the deck so this is very much your can be your big beat stick and
I very much based this build around Minerva the other extra benefit that she
gets is that
(Hopeless)
when you have sanctuary in the sky on the field you can recycle
your counter traps so this can create a loop with some of the ones that we're
playing later on like negate attack and drastic drop off which should basically
allow you to just keep making Minerva bigger and bigger and gets your opponent
in a situation where they're completely out resourced and so this is a staple three of
(His walls are weak, and world weary. He has traded power for comfort.)
I also run two Bountiful Artemis this allows you to draw a card every
time a counter trap resolves now in most builds you'll see this is run at three
there's two reasons that I don't do that run it - the first is because we can
access it through the new card Condemned Witch which we're going to be
going on - meaning you don't have to run the full three and the other reason I
only run this at two is that you really would prefer to be summoning Minerva over
Bountiful Artemis because while you do gain advantage off of Artemis you are
still sitting on reasonably low attack monsters so that's
why I only run it at two similar reasons I only run two copies of Guiding Ariadne
so this is the only pendulum of the deck which allows you to not pay cost
(There is always a cost)
In terms of Life Points or discards for any of your counter traps and the but the
key reason you only run this at two is really that this can be a brick again
ideally you are summoning Minerva you don't want to be stuck with too many
Guiding Ariadne's so that's why we're only running it at two and then I just
run the one the Zeradias herald of heaven which you can discard for sanctuary in
the sky especially helpful if you've already used your normal summon in the deck
(You cannot protect him)
so that's it for the light fairies now we move on to our additional support
so we've got the three Condemned Witch which came out in Soul Fusion this is a
fantastic card in the deck and really why I decide to run the Card of Demise
variant so this allows you to get one forbidden quick play spell so I play
the one Forbidden Chalice in the deck but also during your opponent's
main phase you can tribute this off in order to summon a level-four fairy
monster from your deck other than Condemned Witch so this can
be really great for bring out Minerva or bringing out Guiding Ariadne if you
need just a wall and it's also really helpful because in addition to this I
run the one Darkest Diabolos Lord of the Lair now
(he has no understanding, only misguided pride)
a lot of people wouldn't be playing this card in counter fairies but now that we have Condemned Witch
which is a dark monster which tributes itself you can use this to bring out
Diabolos which requires that in order to special summon itself to the field I
very much prefer this to the Parshaths because these days having piercing and a
big body is not quite enough I feel to make the difference you need
Darkest Diabolos provides that extra protection on itself not being able to
be tributed not being able to be targeted which is something that the
counter fairies themselves lack as well as having that 3000 attack so I would
thoroughly recommend playing Darkest Diabolos this build of counter Fairies
so that's it for the normal monster lineup now on to the spell cards so of
(You need not follow him to his fate)
so of course we run the one Forbidden Chalice you can run forbidden spells that more
than this because you do have the three Condemned Witch but I find that again
(You must accept his fate)
it's really only icing on the cake and primarily you want to be going into your
counter traps you don't want to have too many of these quick play spells but it
is really useful and I felt Forbidden Chalice is definitely the most meta
relevant at the moment so then we run three of the Sanctum of Parshath and one
of the Sanctuary in the Sky this just works so well with Minerva and just
provides so much added protection to your counter traps it's amazing
the sanctum doubles as sanctuary on the sky and as well as providing attack
boost to all of your counter fairies your Set spells and traps cannot be targeted
or destroyed so it provides a lot of needed protection it also has an
additional effect that can sometimes come up late game where you can put
three counter fairies and or traps counter traps sorry on top of your deck and
this can be super helpful for just when you really need to draw into a card
that's ended up in your grave and you can't recur it back otherwise it's
really helpful and just the normal sanctuary in the sky you can get off
Zeradias and it also provides some protection
if they do manage to attack one of your weaker counter fairies then this just
protects prevents you from taking the damage which is super important when you
(breath and time is short)
have potentially not got Guiding Ariadne up and do need to pay those costs so I
think that's the ideal line up of sanctuary cards for the deck
(His sanctuary is indeed condemned)
rest of the spells are all draw power so I've got three pot of duality and three
card of demise definitely the most expensive card in the deck but well
worth it I feel like the ties build can be fantastic but you do need to have
that perfect hand to be able to really make the use of it and you can go
straight off card of demise and into a duality and you're never going to be
doing much more than normal summoning really your counter traps are the focus
and this just helps you make sure that you're always ending your turn with a
full back row and then if that wasn't enough I've also got the two pot of desires
(Because he is not safe)
desires you can go back and forth on the proper ratios for this card I found that
two works well and again if you can get your card of demise and your duality
and your pot of desires going and then they all just feed into each other and
it makes this deck so much more consistent so that's it for the spell
(I shall demonstrate for YOU)
cards now onto the now on to the on to the traps so we've got the three drastic
drop off so this is fantastic and counter fairies much-needed staple it's
just always live and depending on what you're facing up on you might want to
use this right away on their draw phase or you might want to wait
they search for something and take it right out of their hand it's just really
effective always live similar kind of story with negate attack when we get to
the side you'll see what I mean that you can side out for the mirror forces if
you want to but the fact that this is a counter trap it just provides your
counter fairies with necessary protection while at the same time you're still
plussing off it and if you can get a loop where you have gotten the gate
attack and drastic drop-off involved with Minerva and they can't add to
their hand and they can't attack you then it's only a matter of time until
Minerva can finish them off and you just completely out resource the
game so those are probably the three key ones which I would definitely say run at
three then you've also got three Divine Punishment now we're a very Sanctuary in
the Sky focused build so you definitely want to be running three divine
punishment this is almost like additional copies of Solemn Judgment and
that you can negate a monster effect spell or trap and if you negate destroy
it as long as you have sanctuary in the sky in the field just incredibly solid
card and you're unlikely to brick with the number of additional support cards
that you run then I also run three then I also run the solemn Brigade so we've
got the three Solemn Strike the Solemn Judgment and the Solemn Warning so these
cards are just the bread and butter so good to see them all together now these
are just fantastic in the deck and they provide a lot of value they might change
with the banlist but if anything we might see Solemn go to two and that
would be fantastic because it hasn't seen a lot of play in other decks but it is
a really good card and finally just to round out the 40
I've got one copy of grand horn of heaven
I went back and forth on this card for a while because it can be really strong
in that it's ends the main phase for your opponent when you negate a summon
of a monster or monsters, they do get a draw a card but if you have got
Artemis or Minerva out then you're also recurring something back so you're not
negging too much can really throw your opponent's gameplan off track if they
were reliant on their Battle phase so that's it for the main deck onto the
extra we do run a small utopia package so three of them there so that is very
standard for counter fairies important for breaking boards then in a similar style
we have a Dark Rebellion XYZ Dragon and an Evilswarm Exciton Knight it's back at
one and a fantastic card for just getting rid of your opponent's entire
board and a very good going second option as well so then an additional to
those five we also run one Baguska one Castel one Gagaga Cowboy one Bujintei Tsukuyomi
One Gagagigo the Risen and Chimeratech Fortress Dragon so this is
just a mix of level four options and of course the fortress dragon for if you do
come up against cyber dragons it's useful to just have level four Suite
so the in addition to that I do have some Baking the Dragon targets so from
most fun to most effective we have Odin father of the Aesir
it's a light fairy and a 4k beater at that so it'll get boosts off
sanctuary and the sky but otherwise this will be the least likely for you to
bring out and then we have Belzeus and Belze again just useful cards easy
to destroy it kind of fits with a condemned theme going on there the one
Naturia Exterio so the all these cards can be really useful but again it
comes down to the circumstances it comes down where you think they'll be most
appropriate and it's just nice to have the options so that's it for the extra
deck now I do want to go into the side deck because I found it very useful at
locals and I think that it's beneficial to see what other techs you
can possibly add in so I did run three cursed seal of the forbidden spell so I
found this was just an excellent way to take out an opponent's spell that can be
super important as well so that's good to have that as an option the one Baking
the Dragon as I was talking about before and then I have one Macro Cosmos and one
Dimensional Fissure now you might want to take out Darkest Diabolos so if you're
running these two because it can conflict' but these two are both
fantastic for graveyard removal before dealing with graveyard decks so I think
being able to impact upon this strategy is really handy even though they're not
counter traps now in a similar vein we also have two quaking mirror force and
two storming mirror force these are basically just to replace a negate attack
(sick of those damned sleeves
and to deal with any problematic if ftk no otk decks one more grand horn of
heaven in case you're finding that's particularly effective one Raigeki
just for going second or even just to break a board sometimes this can come up
if they do manage to play through your back row and then finally one Bountiful
Artemis in case you really do feel like you wanted it at three that is how a lot of
decks play it, with the Minerva as the key focus supported by sanctuary in the sky
and the full trap line up so that is my condemned counter fairies
thank you so much nga mihi for now and good night
(So yes, the clock IS ticking for him)
