Shimmer Paint Technique #4 | 2-Minute Tuesday Tip - Duration: 2:50.

Hey everybody it's Connie with Simply Simple Stamping .com dot. I am back

with another tip for you using Stampin Up's shimmer paint. Guys today I'm going

to teach you how to create this wonderful but very realistic tin tile

technique. So easy to do and it can be done with any color. Let me show you how

it's done. So for a more antique copper look I chose early espresso as my

cardstock you're going to place that inside your tin tile embossing folder

and run it through your big shot. You can use either side of the cardstock but

I liked the area where each tin tile was raised. I'm gonna be using the bright

copper. We're gonna give that a shake and we're only going to use what's inside

the lid. I've got a sponge dauber you can see it's now dedicated to my copper. I

just grabbed a little bit and we're gonna dab that on a clear block and I

want to get quite a bit of that off of there don't worry we'll be using it all.

I'm gonna start with the circles and guys the lightest touch I mean just give

it a swirl and remember when it comes to antiquing there's nothing perfect about

it. We want it to kind of have a very random look so I'm gonna hit all of

these circles. Now my sponge is starting to get a little dry so I can pick up

some more. And now again, just a light touch, I'm going to start to fill in. On

my card I did an ink and shimmer mist technique. Let me show you how to do that

I've got an early espresso ink pad so I will ink up my stamp.

I will now come in with my leftover shimmer paint. We'll pick that up and I'm

just gonna dab it on here you see I still have plenty of that early espresso

how about we stamp the inside of our card. And there we go. Can you see we kind

of get that early espresso. We get that nice shimmer. Clean up is super easy! We

can just wipe that right off. If you have any spots that may be dried little water

and it's gonna come right off of there. I thought I'd bring in just another one I

did; this was on pool party cardstock. And on this one I used the frost white as the

base and then I came in with just a little tiny bit of that leftover bright

copper. Now if you're ready to order your own shimmer paint head over to Simply

order one or all of the paints and you'll be able to start creating these

The threat that technological innovation will

destroy more jobs than it creates has spurred

a wide variety of proposals for ensuring that

workers aren't left out in the cold.

One such proposal is universal basic income.

The idea is simple: citizens or permanent

residents receive a fixed sum of money, giving

them the security and flexibility to participate

in reskilling or higher education programs,

to start their own businesses, to engage in

less lucrative but socially valuable activities,

or simply to spend less time working.

As the so-called gig economy grows, and unions'

capacity to protect workers weakens, a UBI

would be a powerful economic stabilizer.

And, because it would be universal, a UBI

would lack the stigma or means-testing that

often weaken political support for existing

welfare programs.

The most obvious question is how to pay for it.

One option is taxation of corporate profits,

though any tax-based financing scheme would

almost certainly face powerful – and possibly

fatal – political resistance.

Another option, advanced by Yanis Varoufakis,

seeks to avoid this problem by giving the

public a share of returns on capital.

For example, a percentage of capital stock

(shares) from every initial public offering

could be channeled into a Commons Capital

Depository, with the dividends funding what

would amount to a universal income scheme.

But financing UBI is just the first step.

The concept challenges traditional ideas about

work, success, and human fulfillment.

On the right, critics worry that a UBI would

give rise to mass dependency, with a large

share of the population no longer bothering

to work, leading to a drop in labor supply

and falling productivity.

Critics on the left, meanwhile, worry that

the UBI could be used as a Trojan horse for

cutting other social programs that are meant

to target disadvantaged groups.

In any case, UBI is not the only potential solution.

For example, in the United States, some advocate

the expansion of the earned income tax credit,

which benefits low-income workers based on

how many hours they work and children they

have.

Some also advocate a guaranteed jobs program.

The federal government would guarantee employment,

with benefits and a living wage, to every

citizen or permanent resident willing and

able to work.

Among other things, a job guarantee, like

a UBI, would boost workers' negotiating

power throughout the economy by removing the

fear of unemployment.

None of these proposals has yet been implemented,

at least not on a scale large enough to assess

them properly.

And, for now, the political will to test bold

solutions is lacking in much of the world.

But with the specter of technological unemployment

closing in, governments may soon have no choice

but to test novel ideas.

When I talk to graduate students in education policy today,

two things stand out: One, the caliber of their methodological training, and

two, how little time they say they spend reading or thinking broadly about

education. When we discuss what they're learning, the answers tend toward the narrow,

ahistorical, and, well, thin. For example,

those training to research teacher quality have devoted remarkably little attention

as to why career ladder models have failed in the past,

or even to what it really means to be an effective teacher.

A lack of history and context can lead researchers to overinterpret

findings or miss obvious caveats. Just for instance:

We should always keep in mind that higher test scores may reflect better instruction, or

just increased test preparation, and that the answer really matters!

Let's be clear: While methodological chops are great,

we need scholars who also possess historical memory wisdom and judgement.

I hope those preparing tomorrow's researchers can rise to the challenge.

American all-weather multi-role Strike Fighter that was designed in the 1980s

warfare aircraft some interesting facts the f-15 made its first flight nearly

forty three years ago on July 27th of 1972 it's one of the most successful

modern era fighters with over 100 aerial combat victories it's also had zero

aerial combat losses giving it an absolute perfect record the Eagle can be

armed with combinations of four different air-to-air weapons including

the aim 7mm Sparrow missiles or the aim-120 amraam missiles on its lower

under the wings and an internal m61 vulcan 20 millimeter Gatling gun on the

right wing root of its design the f-15e prototype was a modification of the

was designed to incorporate the more powerful engines with advanced engine

can actually use Dave's capture page for you under your affiliate link but you

wouldn't have access to your emails for 45 days until his autoresponder

completed the email run for your customer okay so when you're ready to

set up your capture page and you have all your emails and sent into your

autoresponder you can actually get your emails as soon as the person opts into

your system if you so choose but in order to receive the emails from Dave

after he runs the 45 days of autoresponders for you when you're

starting out you have to have your send laned account set up so when he's done

with the 45 days it will go directly to your Semillon account and I'm going to

show you how to do that today this is actually a really simple procedure but

what was integrated with this web forms that was it and that's how it's improved

I think I joined Sun Lane March of 2018 and here were in November of 2018 look

at how these guys have expanded it almost makes me I'm gonna go back and

start using something because of the ease of the setup and integration system

that they've actually accomplished and according to this it actually looks like

they're even gonna do more I actually use pop-up manager a lot but see they

don't have a setup for yet but I mean this is these guys are really cooking I

mean I would be very content and very happy to just have Sun Lane but like I

said for my purposes my marketing purposes I'm currently using get

response but anyway when I told you or go up here to account setting click on

that and then you'll see this go down scroll down a little bit lower

to the page you'll see your security credentials now obviously I have to

block my now so you don't see them but there are two things here your API key

and your hash key now I know for forget response there is no hash key I don't

know why but for ape there's always an API key okay now this is the API key

in SendLane and the hash key Send Lane I think it's just a little bit more

added security but by no get response has the API key I'm not sure bought a

weber but i'm pretty sure they only have an API key

I think Sendlane is the only one that has the hash key but these are extremely

important right here okay so whatever those numbers are those are the numbers

that you're going to plug into your legendary marketer account and for that

matter any legitimate big-time affiliate marketing program slash business that

you can involve with whether it be super affiliate marketer or mobi or legendary

marketer if you want to integrate your account assembling account into any

those programs you're going these are the keys right here literally it says

keys kiki you need these things okay so that's where you are you just go under

account right here you go into your account settings you scroll down a

little bit and it's right there so if you go onto your legendary marketer

back-office you go under your account you go under settings right and then you

click on your email list and there's a big explanation about here basically

telling you what I told you already it is considered more advanced and you need

to know what you're doing before you decide to move forward doing this here

is the API key that gives you a video tutorial to watch on how to do it it's

really really simple basically Dave and legendary marketer

they don't want you to use this like I said until you have your send lien

account your email your autoresponders and your capture pages all set up so you

don't lose any opt-ins it's extremely important and the reason why they gave

you all these capture pages and sale pages with legendary markers because

they know it takes time especially if you're new but to integrate it all you

need to do is take your API key and your hash key that I just showed you on your

account settings put them in here right and then you're sending login

login URL which you guys know it's John kabat-zinn San lien comm and whatever it

is you put yours in I told you I could have used a choir Liberty dot San lien

calm when I first started but I didn't have the acquire Liberty website going

yet so you guys can put anything in there that you want when you're setting

up your son lien account mine was John Kallis cuz that's how I signed up now

obviously I'm not connected right now because like I said I'm using get

response I don't need to connect so what you guys to do is just hit connect now

right and then after hit connect now it'll tell you if connected to your son

Lane account and guess what folks any leads that Davis collected for you then

the force first 45 days of you getting opt-ins into his capture page and league

page guess what boom they're gonna go right back to you and you're gonna be

able to see them right here under your subscribers tab I'm not gonna click on

that because I got a lot of subscribers there I can't I don't want to give their

name off freely but yeah you would click under your subscribers and if you don't

see it immediately usually within 24 to 48 hours you're gonna see an additional

amount of you know leads put up right in here

from Dave's system after after they complete the 45 day run of

autoresponders but guys that's basically in a nutshell as far as connecting send

Lane to your legendary marketer account it's really that simple and I want to

stress it one more time do not do this until you have your opt-in page but I

have an African Grey parrot and he's just like making a ton of noise up there

hold on a second I gotta close the door I can't emphasize

this enough don't do this until you have an opt-in page you're happy with

everything is linked up and you're tested and you've tested it and you have

a list created with all you with your autoresponder hooked up to it so when

someone gives you an email into your capture page you know your autoresponder

is gonna work or your workflow okay so I just want to emphasize that make sure

it's clear and but I wanted to give you guys I want to show you how easy it is

Dear friends, I hope you're well and happy

Today is snowing here. It's very gray

and cold

The first time of the year is always a little bit special

So I just wanted to share that with you

I'm going to drink some

apple pie

Flavoured green tea... it sounds strange, but it is really good !

So I guess my little happiness today is to drink this

wonderful tea sitting next to the window where I can see the snow falling

and starting to edit this video

Lately, I've been in a bit of trouble

to... draw - get back to drawing

for myself, because

I have commissions and projects I need to work on, so I have to draw and I have no choice

and it's kind of okay, because I already know what I have to do. I already have directions and rules to follow

so it doesn't leave much space for doubts. Well... a little, as always, but it really helps

But when it comes to my personal work and personal projects, I've been feeling a bit stuck

Because I haven't

really taken some time to paint an illustration for myself.

I mean that I have been doodling a bit in my sketchbooks

or just on random papers in between commissions, but

I haven't made a proper illustration with details and background and thinking about the composition and everything

for myself

in... a very long time

And

I've been putting a lot of pressure on my shoulders to

get back to that and be able to make an entire finished illustration

for myself

Because as you may know, I am currently working

towards opening an Etsy shop.

I really would like to be able to open it

next year - at the beginning of 2019

And I thought it would be nice to have some

full-page illustrations to

offer as prints. I mean, to sell as prints in the shop

But the only

full-page illustrations I have - that haven't been made for clients - are quite old now

so I feel like it could be good to make some new ones.

But, now, you know, I think a lot about this and I really want to make something special and pretty

that people would love and that would make them happy and

then I just

Find myself completely stuck and out of ideas

Because I would like to make something that looks like me and my work

But that is not too repetitive with all the other things I already have.

And I've been thinking about this too much and too hard for a long time now

So I feel blocked and I don't know where to start.

So today

I decided to just let go

and doodle randomly

and for some reason

I've been

stopping myself from making simple doodles, because they never looked

Good enough to me. But then I thought it's okay, you know, it's in my sketchbooks

I don't have to show it to anybody if I don't feel like it

So why not take the risk and maybe something nice could come out of it

So today I'm going to use my Copic markers and a fineliner

And I thought maybe you would like to join me in this...

... useless doodling time ? I mean it's not going to be useless. Obviously. It's never useless to doodle but

in this

doodling session with no particular purpose, if I can say so !

So, yeah, if you'd like to join me, I'd be very happy to have you here

I have been editing this video

for a week or so, because I didn't have time

To do it all in one time

So I had time to doodle much more in the sketchbook during the week

more than what I have actually recorded

and I've come to the conclusion that the more you draw, you doodle

the more the ideas, and the motivation, and the desire to draw will grow

I mean, it sounds really obvious when you say it like that

But it's always difficult to start when you don't feel motivated

But I found that just doodling random things around me - it doesn't have to be

wonderful, and it doesn't have to be original, and it doesn't have to be cute, or it doesn't even have to be beautiful

But just to doodle something... it really helps

to get back into the "swing of things", if I can say so

and it will be like a circle

So, I think that the most difficult part of getting back to drawing is just the first step

and this is where we usually put the more pressure on us because we feel

...rusty, we don't feel confident. We don't feel like we're going to do something good

But it's actually the moment where we should be the kindest to ourselves and the more understanding

Because maybe it's going to be ugly. Maybe it's going to

Look nothing like what we had in mind when we started doodling

but it's going to be useful, and it's going to be helpful, and it's just the first step on the way to

making something we like.

So I think that we should trust ourselves more

and not mind too much to fail or to make something ugly because

because actually when we make something that we find ugly,

I don't think this is a failure because it's just a step that will lead us to

the next doodle that we might like more and

you know, on the way of doodling, we will just...

... keep trying new things that will make us come closer to what we have in mind.

I don't know if that makes any sense because it's just...

I haven't planned too much of it

I'm just saying what comes through my mind when I think about

Doodling and when I think about that week where I finally took the time to get back to a sketchbook.

But I hope you you see what I mean !

And, for some people, it may seem obvious

What I'm saying, but I think we tend to forget it sometimes in the moments when we actually need to remember this most

In the moments when we don't feel confident with our drawings or we don't feel inspired.

But trust yourself because you will do something good
