Americanos entendem outros sotaques em inglês? | AMIGO GRINGO RESPONDE #58 - Duration: 9:03.

Once again, Amigo Gringo...

Responds

The first question is from Suellen Silva from Vitória, Espirito Santo state, who wrote

her city and state, you all should do that too.

And she wrote, "Amigo Gringo, I'm curious, do you have any addictions or vices?

I think Eric's hot, and that he looks like Adam Rodriguez from CSI Miami,

I love your channel."

First, thanks! That's great that you love the channel.

As for Eric, do you think that all Hispanic actors look alike? What a racist!

What does that Adam Rodriguez look like?

Ah, hmm, they do look a lot alike, right? Sorry!

Now, about my vices. I don't smoke, I don't use drugs, I don't even drink a lot?

Huh? It's true!

But I have two vices. First, sugar. I'm like a kid: sweets, cakes, cookies, and I'm practically a Homer Simpson

when there's a doughnut nearby.

But my biggest vice, without a doubt, is making videos in Portuguese for Brazilians.

Seriously, who else would do that?

Next, Guacira Ramos Mesquita has a question about Harlem.

And she wrote, "Amigo Gringo, is going to a gospel mass in Harlem worth the trouble?"

Hmm, many tourists want to visit a gospel mass in Harlem. And as always, when lots of tourists want

to do something, it becomes touristy.

In other words, in a lot of churches you have to arrive really early on Sunday, stand in line for hours,

Or pay for a tour to avoid the line.

What do I recommend? Two possibilities.

I said two? Two possibilities.

There is a business that in my opinion gives the best tours, Harlem Heritage Tours,

and they did not pay me to say that.

It doesn't just include the mass, it includes a tour of Harlem, always led by guides born and raised in Harlem.

Is that the expression, Patrícia?

Ehhhh, kind of. It's more like: "Like me, born and raised in Butantã, like the snakes."

Uh, I don't think that's the same thing.

Anyway, there are tours on Wednesday afternoons, when the mass isn't as much a tourist show

as on Sunday. Second option is to go on Sunday to a church to a less-known church,

but that I discovered when I was doing an article about Harlem.

The Convent Avenue Baptist Church. But if you choose that church,

you have to dress well, be very respectful, ask for permission to enter, and stay for the whole mass,

not just for the music.

Masses start at 8 and 11. Once again, it's not a show for tourists, it's a real mass.

By the way, you don't even need to visit Harlem, you can hear it live on the internet in Brazil, link in the description.

Next, Duarte VGC wrote: "Amigo Gringo, I have a question: do you Americans have any trouble

understanding people speak English in different accents?

For example, I find it hard to understand someone from Portugal speaking Portuguese."

OK, first, I agree, I have more chance of understanding a Chinese person teaching philosophy class in Mandarin

than understanding a kid in Lisbon count from 1 to 10.

It's not as hard for us to understand people from London.

But a lot of accents in English are difficult.

For example, the Scottish.

Especially when they speak in slang.

???????????

So, no idea what that guy said, I only understood the word bum.

But within the U.S. we also have tricky accents.

When I visited Kentucky, for example, I had some problems understanding people.

Let's listen to an example.

This is me again Ricky, I've ??? my mustard greens, I've got ??? mustard....

Uhhh, I heard mustard greens, but I didn't understnd the rest.

And as you know, here there is a an African-American accent.

Not every African-American has the accent, and there are a thousand varieties.

Sometimes it's hard to understand. Let's hear the most difficult possible example:

a southern accent, with an African-American accent, from a child.

Let's see that example.

??????????????????

Aww, so cute! And totally incomprehensible to me.

OK, don't forget to subscribe to the channel, and like the video

and also follow our Instagram seuamigogringo, as well as my Instagram, sethkugel

which is in English and Portuguese.

Ah, and have you watched Amigo Gringo in Chinese? That's right, there's a Chinese version

but it hasn't come out yet. Only our Patreon partners can watch.

Totally exclusive, patreon.com...amigogringo. I don't know how to say this in Portuguese.

But you know what it is, right? What is it?

-Slash. -Slash, ok.

And now, your New Yorkese class, which comes from a question from Kelvin Detolli

and he wrote "Statue of Liberty", "Liberty's Statue"

"Door of the car," "car's door".

I never know when to use the apostrophe-s and when to use "of" in English.

Is there any rule?

As usual, I don't know the rules of my own language, so I looked and looked and didn't find anything anywhere.

I'll give you my rule. Exclusive to Amigo Gringo, perhaps wrong, but ok.

First, it's important to know that apostrophe-s is by far the more common.

So using "of" would be an exception.

And I'll give you some examples. First, Statue of Liberty.

That's to appear more formal, or elegant.

Much better than Liberty's Statue.

There's also the War of 1812. Did you know there was a war here in 1812? There was.

There's also...

That's formal.

And this brings us to another example. When the phrase is difficult to pronounce or say.

Then we'll change it. Listen to this:

That's very weird, and hard to pronounce.

OK, it's better to say...

More common is when the "owner" of the object is not a single word, but a clause or phrase.

Example: do you know the phrase...

That's like "the venom of the snake that bit you" or when you take a drink to cure a hangover.

Now, saying that with apostrophe-s is hard.

That's really weird, which is why it's...

The truth is that expression is weird for another reason as well.

If you eat the hair of the dog that bit you, it's probably going to bite you again.

And, speaking of biting...

The Disaster Artist | Official Trailer HD | A24 - Duration: 2:16.

Los Angeles, everybody want to be star.

You have to be the best and never give up.

When I get up on stage in front of people,

all I can think about is what if they laugh at me?

But you man, you're fearless.

Stella!

I want to feel that too.

I don't care, I'll do it.

You and me, we both have this dream.

- Yeah I guess we do. (laughs)

And we'll be famous, we'll show them.

Watch out here we come!

To be or not to be?

It's not gonna happen for you.

Not in a million years.

But after that?

This town Greg, they don't want me.

Wish we could just make our own movie.

That great idea.

So there's this guy Johnny,

a true American hero, to be played by me.

He has it all.

Good look, many friends, and also

maybe Johnny is vampire, we'll see.

This set of the alleyway

looks exactly like the real alleyway.

That's right!

Well why don't we just shoot in the real alleyway?

Because it's real Hollywood movie.

No, yeah, sounds good.

Okay. Action!

I did not hit her, I did not.

Oh hi Mark.

What, it doesn't work

if you're looking at the camera!

And then this beautiful girl,

anything for my princess.

She betray him.

And then this guy Johnny!

He go crazy.

Cheep cheep cheep cheep.

Nobody respect my vision!

You are a villain!

I do this whole movie for you Greg!

You are tearing me apart, Lisa!

Cut.

Why you cut, Sandy?

This is great, this is real acting.

If you're going to writhe around with the dress,

maybe do it before you shoot yourself

in the head and blow your brains out.

I disagree.

You're really gonna make this thing?

We are going to do it.

Together.

(Howls.)

Tommy this is not necessary.

No, very necessary.

I need to show my ass to sell this movie.

I think you're aiming a little bit high.

I aim where I am, just do the scene.

Why is he having sex with her bellybutton?

He knows where her vagina is right?

Hi doggy.

A Baby Dragonfly's Mouth Will Give You Nightmares | Deep Look - Duration: 4:01.

This episode of Deep Look is brought to you by CuriosityStream.

For over 300 million years, these lethal hunters have ruled the skies.

They're the order Odonata.

That's dragonflies and damselflies to most of us.

Before the dinosaurs even existed, they had a two-foot wingspan, like a small hawk.

Today they're more modest in scale, but no less deadly.

Take their eyes.

Each tiny hexagonal cell picks up light from a different direction, which gives dragonflies

an almost-360-degree range of vision.

Four wings help them hover, or turn on a dime.

That means this hunter rarely misses.

The weird thing is Odonata spend most of their lives in a place where these killer piloting

skills don't help.

This is where their mothers lay their eggs.

When they hatch, the babies – called larvae or nymphs – spend months or years underwater.

Their wings are still growing, so they aren't any help in scoring a meal …

like this tasty mosquito larva.

It's a larva-eat-larva world down here.

Did you see that?

Let's slow it down.

The nymph has a killer lip, called a labium.

Remind you of this creepy thing?

For this skimmer nymph it's shaped like a spork.

Only dragonfly and damselfly nymphs have this special lip.

This kind of dragonfly nymph, a darner, has an extra surprise.

There's a pair of pincers right at the end.

It all happens in a fraction of a second.

Think of the lip as a knife, fork and plate all rolled into one.

When the meal is over, it folds up neatly, ready for the next occasion.

These baby skeeters don't stand a chance.

And that's good for us.

Let's hope it stays this way for a few million more years.

This is Who I Am (Clip 3) // Harrison Conley - Duration: 2:28.

Get ready to discover answers in the Bible

with Bayless Conley

In moments the devil will come at us and say, "None of this is real.

You don't belong to God.

You're not an heir.

You're sick; you're depressed; you are going to hell."

Holy Spirit begins to whisper and speak to our heart.

He reminds us, "Oh, no.

There's an eternal life; there's an eternal power at work in you.

As a matter of fact, it's the same power that raised Jesus from the dead, and it's

going to bring life to your mortal body."

He reminds us that one day we're going to shed mortality and we're going to put on

immortality, and we can stand with confidence as He seals our heart and we can say,

"I am an heir!

I have an inheritance!

I have obtained it in Christ Jesus."

He seals us by His Spirit.

He reminds us that we belong to God.

In moments where it seems like we don't belong, the Holy Spirit stamps our heart.

He reminds us that God has inscribed us on the palm of His hand.

The Bible says that in the Old Testament that God has your name inscribed on the palm of

His hand.

He hasn't forgotten you.

The Holy Spirit reminds us that your name and my name is written in the Lamb's Book

of Life.

So when the enemy comes at us and tries to steal our gifts, because of this last gift,

being sealed by the Holy Spirit, we can say with confidence,

"Oh, no, no. These are mine.

They belong to me because I'm in Christ.

I'm chosen. I'm adopted. I'm redeemed. I'm forgiven. I'm an heir

I'm sealed in Christ Jesus."

This is what Paul was saying.

Paul was saying, "This is your new reality.

This is your new identity.

This is who you are."

You are chosen; you're adopted; you're redeemed; you're forgiven; you are an heir.

You have an inheritance, and you are sealed in the Holy Spirit.

#LifeChangingPlaces Lofoten: Tanz mit dem Eismeer | Lufthansa - Duration: 2:42.

Life can be crazy.

Here, in the North Sea in front of the Lofoten Islands,

it all began.

It was a lot stormier those days

... and cold.

Damn cold.

Winter in Lofoten is an attack,

in the best kind of way.

I was a surf photographer

standing on the most beautiful beaches on the planet.

And it sounds stupid: But it actually became boring.

Wifi everywhere, high rise hotels and crowded beaches.

I knew there was something missing.

I started looking in more remote places

to find the adventure that I was seeking.

So I went to the Lofoten Islands.

the islands of the gods …

It was like I found this whole new world

that maybe others had simply overlooked.

It was minus 23 degrees, icy wind,

and three meter high waves.

A freezing cold feeling,

everything it feels like it's about to shut down.

I could literally feel the blood leaving my hands,

feet and face.

"He's Going"

At that moment I knew this is exactly what I've been seeking out.

These pictures they meant so much more to me

because I had given a piece of myself to get them.

It makes me feel alive in a way I never felt before.

I came here to do something different.

And now I know:

I never want do anything else again.

Crashing into Saturn : Cassini, $3.26B Space Probe Final Day September 15 - NASA's Grand Finale - Duration: 3:02.

$3.26 billion and 20 years of history go into smoke and flames this month.

Space probe Cassini of NASA is about to do a suicide mission by crashing into Saturn's

atmosphere and there is nothing that will stop it

well, uh...

except for the gas giant Saturn.

September 15 would be the day that Cassini will be destroyed.

The reason for this digitalized terrorism is that the probe is aged.

It is better to destroy it safely than NASA loses control and infects watery moons that

may contain alien life.

NASA calls this the Grand Finale.

NASA staff members will cry a lot a lot

cry a little bit more and apparently, cry for a few hours

Like how we normal people react on new years eve.

The Cassini space probe has been spinning around the gas giant since April 22, resulting

in beautiful close-up photos of the Saturn's rings.

NASA scientists call this the Death Spiral.

What the alligators and crocodiles do with you when they've got you.

The Cassini will not crash because Saturn has no bottom because it's a gas planet but

the space probe will be pulled apart or cremated, or a bit of both.

The last part that will be destroyed is the plutonium inside that thing.

So it will be a nuclear radioactive shooting star.

There is a small chance that you will see Cassini explode from Earth.

Maybe it's so hot that Cassini just evaporates or the Dayside will spoil the game.

This is Cassini,

Total cost of this scientific exploration mission is about US$3.26 billion, including

$1.4 billion for pre-launch development, $704 million for mission operations, $54 million

for tracking and $422 million for the launch vehicle.

The United States contributed $2.6 billion (80%), the ESA $500 million (15%), and the

ASI $160 million (5%). However, these figures are from the press kit which was prepared

in October 2000.

And my mother complains every year about fireworks that they are a waste of money.

Well, mom, I hope you see this video.

Early on September 15, Cassini will plunge into the clouds of Saturn to prevent contaminating

icy, watery moons that may support alien life.

The spacecraft will burn up as a fireball of silicon and metal — and scientists say

its last parts to disintegrate will be pods of exceedingly rare and vital nuclear fuel

that made the mission possible.

Click the videos next to me to watch more of my videos.

I sincerely want to thank you for your time watching this video, it's really appreciated.

I'll see in the next video. Tomorrow, 3 p.m. C.E.T.

HOUSE RECONSTRUCTION | Sharing The Good in Nepal // Day 5 - Duration: 17:42.

DAY 5

- Namaste!

- Good morning!

- Are you awake?

- No

- Have you slept?

- Yes

- I was the first one to wake up

- Good, now let's go have breakfast

and in 30 minutes we should be ready

- Now let's start our 4th day

sun is shining, it's a bit humid.

Today we will visit some schools

and now it's breakfast time!

- We are waiting for the breakfast

and this time as well for the girls

they are taking longer to get ready

but maybe they will get here soon

- Now we got the girls here

- Huh?

- Good morning to you

- Time to eat breakfast. Awesome!

- We are on the road again

first we will visit a pastor and his church

and afterwards to some schools

- What are you laughing there?

- Nothing

- Okay

good, that's what I thought

- I was just photobombing you while you were filming

so I was wondering if it will show

- Now we have visited the pastor

actually there was a school as well

it started our day with a lot of energy

all the students came to us

- It was awesome!

- Once again the students were so wonderful

they spoke really good English

so this time we were able to communicate with them

now we are heading to the next school

that is on top of the hill

once we survive this hill

- Yeah it's a bit of climbing

looks like they are having a PE class

- The weather has been on our favor

the sun is shining so bright

the whole week was supposed to rain

but it only rained yesterday night

- Shade and water

This madcap came on a motorcycle!

- That's the old school

that got destroyed in the earthquake

we will visit the new one

that was built after the earthquake

- Here is the new building supported by Fida

- Emma is trying the Glidecam

- Yeah for the first time

- It's going good

- I feel it's shaking a lot

- You only need to move it a little

- Oops!

- It's good exercise

- Yeah

- When you hold it for hours like that

- Yeah I can feel it in my muscles

- Wait

- It's a fun device

- The bad thing about filming is the weight of the equipment

when you have drone, stand...

- This is actually really heavy

but this is pretty useful

- We got back to the car

it's starting to get pretty hot

we will go get some cold drinks and food

that will be needed!

- Our loyal car is here again

ready to serve

- Now we are going to visit homes

we are visiting Fida's reconstruction sites

houses Fida has been sponsoring

the view is incredible

- Or what does Elena think of the landscape?

- It's really unbelievable

I don't understand it

- I was just thinking how cool it would be

to get to walk on these type of paths

- As a normal tourist you wouldn't see this

- How's Nora doing?

- Feeling bit week

not sure if it's something I ate or from the sun

or because of both

- Yeah, we have been getting lot of sun

- But it will be fine

we will survive from everything

- Now let's go visit the next family!

- Yeah, this is so worth it

- Here we have mango trees

- Nora what do we have here?

- It's cannabis

marijuana

- Really?

- Marijuana grows here wild in the nature

- Cannabis and mango, what else would you need?

- For a change we have Teemu in front of the camera

and not behind

- Awesome!

- The stick might move a little

- It will be fine

you are like a pro

- So where are we going now?

- We are going to...

- So here we are

- We are visiting the reconstructed houses

- Go Elena! Good!

- Nora and Emma went to get some fresh drinks

and to get some rest

we are continuing here with Elena for a while

we will go check few houses

- It's so cool to see what Fida has done here

- It's so pretty here

- Let's go check!

- That's some sort of lemon

- How cool!

- I think this looks just like a banana

- Are you ready?

- Try to hold your facial expression

- First I felt like the people live here in bad conditions

like they would be missing something

or not have enough

after being here for a while

when you have the basic things

such as home

then you actually have it all good

nothing extra

and unnecessary stuff

like at the market place

they have all they need

- When you have food, close friends, relatives, family...

- And just look this nature where they live

- What wrong there is?

- This is how people lived in the old times

- It's great how we can be sponsoring the houses

- Like these houses

they are cosy

even they are simple they are for sleeping and eating

that they have a roof on top of their heads

- In the Western countries we easily think you need to have a fancy house, wealth

in order to be happy

- But that's actually pointless

- You only need so little

- Here's chicken farms

and there we have Elena

- Hello!

- We made it through from this day

- With honor

- High five!

- Almost miss the camera

- Almost miss the hand too

- Good

- So it's okay if it doesn't show

- Our energy levels are so low

so we almost missed the high five

- Wonderful places, great people

that was our day today

- Our loyal Mitsubishi will take us back to the hotel

- And back at the hotel

- It's bit windy? Or?

- Well not that much

- Maybe it will start raining

- That would be nice

- Some rest and food

and let's relax a little

- Gladly

- Awesome, let's go!

USI Tech and FutureAdPro Daily Method of Operation - Duration: 3:34.

USI Tech and FutureAdPro Daily Method of Operation

hey guys it's Jay here it is Labor Day here in Canada and North America

quick update you know um I guess quick update on kind of my daily method you

know my daily procedure you know kind of what I do on a daily basis you know I

wake up usually the first thing I do is go through my future ad pro account

buying adpacks that you know I have extra money for or you know put some

money into deposit and then I watch my tin ads so I'm good for the day overtime

I also get credits in my advertising account so you can purchase a thousand

views with three dollars in your advertising account and that kind of

just accrues so from there you know I advertise might lead lightening some of

my other email list so that you know other people maybe that want to join

other programs or that are in future ad pro can also you know go into my email

list you know when I can get other leads that way next I usually go into USI tech

and see if I have enough of a balance to buy another BTC package or if I want to

withdraw even though I'm not withdrawing now so that's not really something I

need to worry about yet I upload videos like this to YouTube you know when I

shoot some more screencasts a to get more traffic you know I push those to my

email list maybe to some of my affiliate programs and then I will send out an

email to my email list you know showing them my new videos maybe a new Facebook

post maybe a new blog post you know just an update you know whatever that's kind

of my main things I do want a daily basis some of those things I can like my

emails blog posts Facebook post uploading and publishing YouTube videos

I can schedule all that so if I'm away so it's nice that you know a lot of that

stuff can you know if you're on vacation or if you don't want to do it you're

going to be you know away from a computer for a

while away from internet I can do that completely you know on autopilot even

with future ad Pro if I'm not gonna go through my ten abs a day which you need

to do to be eligible to you know to make your fifty cents per day approximately

in your ad pack you can buy vacation time you know or get somebody to do it

for you you'e SciTech is completely on autopilot the only thing I even the

rebuy so even if you know I said I go into my account on a daily basis if I

have enough proceeds I will buy another BTC package I can even set that to auto

rebuy as well so this is kind of the business of the future where you know

you do everything on automation you do it on your own time you're still working

but I can I can batch things I can script them I can do them you know in

bunches as opposed to doing it every day from like a nine-to-five job if you want

to know more about that I will leave a link below that is my kind of my initial

plan that uses future add Pro lead lightning you know and builds up your

account so you can do some of these so take a look at that if you're interested

if not that's cool subscribe to my youtube channel like

this video and we will talk to you later

Q&A Part 1 | Answering You Burning Questions! | Người Mỹ Làm Video Hỏi Đáp | Audrey Nguyen - Duration: 10:50.

Hi everybody!

Welcome back to my channel.

If you're new here, thanks for joining.

Today's video I'm finally going to do my question and answer video.

So last week I had a video asking you guys to submit your questions in the comments and

I would be making this video shortly, and I received a lot of questions.

So with that being said I'm actually gonna make two question and answer videos just because

I wanna answer everybody's question but if I do one video it's gonna be really really

long so today will be Q&A part 1 and then next week I will have Q&A part 2.

So if you didn't get your question answered in the first one stayed tuned for part 2 and

hopefully I will be answering your questions there.

So yeah, I'm just gonna start right in and start answering some questions.

So I have a question here from Breezy Plant.

Breezy Plant asks: do you prefer songs in Vietnamese or songs in English and can you

sing in Vietnamese?

So actually for me I listen to Korean music.

You probably know that from some other videos I made but yeah so normally I listen to Korean

music and I know some Vietnamese music too and of course English music.

I'm not a good singer so I'm not going to sing for you guys but you know I did Karaoke

before.

So yeah, that's, that's my answer for that one.

So thank you Breezy Plant for your question.

The next question is from Ha Ho Sy.

Ha Ho Sy said, what is the main reason that makes you decide to go back to Vietnam along

with your husband?

Why don't you raise your family in the U.S.?

So everybody for some reason thinks I live in Vietnam, which I don't.

I live in the United States right now.

So it's the opposite.

Yes, we have chosen to stay in the United States and my husband works here.

I'm still going to graduate school and am gonna get a job next year here and we're gonna

raise our family here in the U.S. so that's kind of a question that a lot of people were

asking and so I'm glad I could clear that up.

Thanks for the question.

Now I have another question from Ngoc Anh Nguyen.

Ngoc Anh Nguyen says, hey beauty, tell me what are the difference before and after getting

married?

And when you guys live together, then how can you both organize everything?

I mean who cooks, who does housework and shopping market, etc?

So we know, being in America, we're also very young so I guess you could say it's more like

a modern day couple.

So when it comes to like organizing, let's see, tell me what the difference is before

and after getting married, well there wasn't really much difference I guess.

Like, we were together before together after so, that's a funny question.

We're still the same people together and it's still the same thing so for us nothing really

changed, we're just officially married.

So for cooking, housework and shopping, so my husband Huy is actually a really good cook

so I let him cook most of the time but I do some cooking as well.

And then for housework I do like dishes and laundry and he helps with taking out the trash,

wash the floor, stuff like that, so we work together as a team.

We go to the supermarket together to buy food because, you know, it's just more fun to be

a team.

So it's not like one person does everything the other does everything, for the most part

we work together.

So I hope that answers your question!

The next question is a different one so, Aarati says, my question for you is what do you like

about India and would you visit it in the future?

Also, have you tried Indian food?

So, I don't know a lot about India except for I have had the food here in the US and

what I've had is delicious like ummm of course the Naan bread is very good and Chicken Tikka

Masala, which I think is actually a British invention, but like those kind of, and curries,

I love Indian curries, so delicious.

Of course I would want to visit someday, so yeah, hopefully I can.

I'm trying to learn some Hindi so Namaste.

And thank you so much for the question and your support.

So Thuy Hoang asks, when did your husband's parents move to the US and where did they

settle down?

How old is your husband?

Where are you guys living now?

So my husband's parents don't live in the US, they're still in Vietnam and they live

in Ho Chi Minh City.

My husband is 25 years old and I'm about to be 25 years old as well, so we're quite young.

So maybe his parents will come here someday but for now they are still living in Vietnam.

Another question here from Hieu Nguyen says, which is your favorite city in Vietnam that

you would like to visit?

So I have been to Ho Chi Minh City, because that's where my family lives, I have also

been to Nha Trang, Mui Ne, Phan Thiet, Vung Tau, Can Tho, and Mekong River Delta.

So those areas, I've been in the South.

I would really really love to visit Hanoi and also Ha Long Bay, because it just looks

so beautiful so hopefully I will get to visit there next time, well maybe not next time

but in the future I want to visit the North.

So I have a lot of people asking how we met.

I'm gonna actually make a complete video about that later so that it's just in one place

because I don't want it to get lost in this video so thank you to Thao Doan for asking

about a please do a how we met video.

I will be doing that soon.

You also included some questions that I can try to answer here so you said, do you guys

plan to have children in the near future?

So right now I'm finishing my school, I'm in graduate school getting my masters.

I'll be done next year and then maybe I'm gonna find a stable job so maybe in 2 or 3

years we will have children.

So it's not like super in the near future but of course it will come quickly.

I think we will be around 28 years old at that time so I think that's a good age to

have children.

Somebody asked, why did you decide to marry so early?

This was from Marnie Marnie MH.

Well, it wasn't like, I don't know, it's hard to explain because it wasn't like when we

made the decisions I was thinking oh I'm so young, maybe I shouldn't get married.

We were just ready to get married so we did.

I feel like I'm a mature person overall so even though I was only 20 at the time I was

a little bit more mature than some other people maybe the same age so for me I didn't feel

like I was too young to get married.

I feel like it was the perfect age for me do so.

So thanks for the question.

So I don't know if it's Duy Pham..

Duy Pham asks, did you date any asian guys before you met your husband?

No, I did not.

I mean, not that I was looking for a specific kind of person to date, it just happened to

be that the person I fell in love with was Asian, and Vietnamese, so it wasn't like,

oh I need to find an Asian guy or oh I need to find a White guy, no it wasn't like that.

And before that I didn't think about it either so yeah I guess it's interesting.

The next question I have here is, what is your job?

So currently I am a student, I'm in grad school studying global affairs, but I do have a part-time

job.

So I work for the university in the dorm.

I'm kind of like an assistant supervisor of the dormitory where the students live.

I work 25 hours per week over there and then I go to school.

And I like my job, it's a lot of fun to work with students so yeah, it's great!

Another one here from Huyen Nguyen said, why did you call in love with a Vietnamese guys?

Personally, I find that Western girls are not interested in Asian guys, especially Vietnamese.

Like I said before, it's not like I was looking for an Asian guy or a White guy or a Black

guy or a Latino..

I wasn't like, that's not how I think.

When you grow up in America, you don't, at least for me, I can't say for everybody, but

for me growing up in America you see everybody from different backgrounds so it's not like

you're just stuck in one box of like just white people.

No, I know in other countries where it's not as diverse you may feel like pressure to only

marry your race but for me that's not the case so the question of why did you fall in

love with a Vietnamese guy?

I didn't fall in love with a Vietnamese guy, I fell in love with a guy.

So, that's just how it happened.

you know.

We connected, we liked each other, and that's just how it went.

I hope that answered your question.

Nguyen Touyen, I'm sorry fi I said you name wrong, says, can you share a bit about how

you and your husband know each other?

Sure.

So we met each other in college, I'm gonna do like I said an entire video about how we

met so I'm gonna keep this very brief.

So we just went to the same college in 2010 is when we met and we also started dating

shortly after we met.

We met in school, he was an international student in the United States so that's how

we met.

So that's the end of the question and answer part 1 video.

I'm gonna be making part two for next week so stay tuned for that.

If your question wasn't answered in part one I'll try to answer it in part 2.

How To Get Perfect Eyebrows For Beginners | #BeautyBite - Duration: 6:44.

what's up guys welcome to the cult curator where I help you navigate the

overwhelming world a beauty one tutorial at a time. My name is Sonya and in this

week's video I'm sharing my tips for an everyday natural looking brow I do a beauty

bite every week so don't forget to subscribe and if you'd like to see how I

do my brows and keep on watching alright so with the full face of makeup on you

can really see that my brows need a lot of work they're not doing a good job of

shaping a face they're just too sparse and too light so filling them in will

make huge difference so before I go on with any brow product the first thing

that I like to do is go in with a setting powder over my natural brow

hairs and I like to kind of look at this as going in with an eye primer and then

going over that by primer with either setting powder or an eye shadow so that

your eyeshadows have a smooth base to apply to you it's kind of a similar

thing and I have noticed that it makes a big difference in the way that my

eyebrow product applies so lately I've been taping this RCMA no color powder

and an elf blush brush to do this so I just coat the brush in the setting

powder like this and then go over my brow and I'm just taking the brush and

patting and swiping across the brow to make sure that there's a good amount of setting powder on it.

my go-to brow product lately has been the NYX micro brow pencil and Ash Brown

I used to only use the Anastasia Beverly Hills brow wiz but this is literally

half the price and I would say it's just as good so I've been using this a lot so

the first thing that I like to do is take the spoolie side of the brow pencil

and run my brows through it the reason I do this is because sometimes my brow

hairs go all over the place so this helps tame them and put them into the

shape that I want them to be now I'm gonna fill in my brows and the

first thing I like to do is outline the shape so that I know where I should be

filling in so I like to start from the beginning and gradually draw a line

across my brow and when I get to this area I like to draw it a little bit

thicker than the natural shape so that it matches this side so for this video

I'm not going to go into too much detail about how to shape your brows I actually

have a very in-depth brow tutorial where I show you everything from how to shape

your brows to how to fill them so if you're a beginner and you need a

few more in-depth tips and tricks on how to do your brows then I will link that in

the description bar down below and I'll also link it somewhere up here for you

so now that I've outlined the shape of my brows I'm just gonna go in and fill

them in so I like to just go in with small strokes like this and the goal is

to try to kind of mimic the brow hair so you're doing little light strokes like

this to make it look a lot more natural versus a very harsh line that will be a

lot harder to blend out and another tip is to follow the direction of your brow

hairs so you'll notice my brow hair is in this direction to go horizontally

like the brows in the front go up so I will be going up like this and then

the tail area kind of curves downward you don't want to do upward strokes in

this area because it won't look as natural and you don't want to do

horizontal strokes in the front because that won't look natural either so keep

that in mind while you're doing this and also when you reach the front you want

the lightest amount of pressure in this area because you don't want it to be as

dark as this you want to kind of create a gradient so the front of your brow

should be the lightest and then it moves into the darker tail of your brow and

then as I'm filling them in and after I'm done filling them in I like to go in

with a spoolie and this helps blend everything together

another trick while you're doing my brows I do this all the time to make

sure that my brows are completely filled in so you want to take your mirror and

look sideways like this and when you do this you can actually see sparse areas

that need to be filled in that you wouldn't be able to see by just looking

forward and just by doing my brows even though I've just done one

and see that it makes a huge difference in the way that your face looks and your

makeup looks alright so now I'm just gonna do the other brow rather quickly

and I will be right back alright so this is both brows filled in and another tip

that I like to use when I'm filling in my brows is to actually look at a larger

mirror where I can see my entire face this has become such a crucial step for

me because there have been times where I've done my eyebrows in a smaller mirror where I can

just see my brow and my eye and I think that they're perfect, I think that

they're symmetrical and then I look at myself in a larger mirror and they're

completely different brows one is higher than the other or the shape is

completely off whatever it might be they're just completely different so as

I'm doing my brows I always make sure to look at myself in a larger mirror where

I can see my entire face so that I can see that my brows are symmetrical and

looking pretty even on both sides alright so once I fill in my brows I

like to take the time to make them look a little bit more natural so what I like

to do is take my finger and kind of press it along the front I don't want to

wipe away any of the product really I just kind of want to soften it so that

it's not as harsh and it helps create that gradient effect that I want next

I'd like to go in with my RCMA no color powder again and the same blush brush

and run it along my entire brow and what this does is to help set the brow

product and it also helps soften the color so that's not as harsh in the last

step for natural looking brows is to go in with a brow gel to help define the

natural hairs on your eyebrow for this tutorial I'm going to be going in with

my Anastasia Beverly Hills tinted brow gel in Granite and if you don't

want to break with an Anastasia Beverly Hills tinted brow gel

because I know this is expensive the NYX tinted brow gel is really good

also I just can't find mine right now so that's why I'm using this one and once you do

that your natural brow look is complete! alright guys so that is my

natural everyday brow look I hope you found these tips helpful and if you like

this video don't forget to give it a thumbs up and if you're new to my

THE THEOGONY (PART 1) - Duration: 8:08.

Khaíre, guys. How are you?

My name is Patricia Fagundes and this is Mythology As You've Never Seen!

And today's episode is...

The Theogony - Part 01

Well, on the last episode I taught you guys a little about the ancient Greeks

Today we'll study one of this people's creation myths, found in Hesiod's Theogony.

But first and foremost, subscribe to my channel, give this video a thumbs up and follow me on social media

to be up-to-date on my news

If you want more mythological information, access my website:

www.patfagundes.com

and have fun!

And if you really like my work

You can support me on PATREON. Link's in the description below.

Well, Hesiod was a shepherd

that lived about twenty-seven hundred years ago in Beotia, which is located in Greece

And wrote this poem after apparently having heard the voices of the mythic muses.

It's also quite possible that these were much older stories that came from oral tradition de tradição oral

that he simply gathered and wrote down as a poem afterwards

Isn't it so?!

We can always suppose!

Having said that...

Let's have some fun, because time is short and there's a lot of information!

In the beginning there was only Chaos...

Yes...

I'll have to clean all this later!!! :')

Chaos was something weird, without a shape

As if it were the Big Bang singularity that gave origin to our universe

It was ALL there, but it looked like a big VOID!

And in this big quantity of nothingness

was the seed of things, as a potential to "come to be".

Earth, ocean and air were mixed in a way

in which earth wasn't solid, ocean wasn't liquid and air wasn't gaseous

From Chaos emerge five more deities without a specific shape

and without a specific ORDER

Actually, many authors give an order

But each one say something different and my brain nearly exploded

Apparently, the five of them emerged at the SAME TIME

So I'll just list these deities in the order that Hesiod himself gave

and explain what follows

Ok?!?!

As for their appearances, just to make things clear I'll personify, but...

they weren't necessarily

humanoid...

It's best to understand them as the stuff or concepts they represent

After all, most of the Greek deities represent abstract concepts

Check that out!

Folks REALLY had some talent for philosophy in their veins!

The important thing to understand now is that, with the birth of these five

What was nothing before, got to be something now

The first one to appear was Gaia, Mother Earth

Following up was Tartarus

It lays right underneath Gaia

In fact it's waaaaaaay down below

So distant from earth as earth is from the sky above our heads

So far away

that if you throw a BRONZE ANVIL from the land's level down below

it'll take

TEN

FREAKING

DAYS

to reach the ground in Tartarus

Folks back then liked that basic "over-the-top" description of things

The third deity that came from Chaos was Eros

The spirit of desire, of love, of will

You can understand him here as the "force that promotes creation"

Got it?

No?

Without him, nobody would want to make some babies

Basically

If it weren't for Eros, all of the universe's creation would have stagnated and...

in fact

There would be only the four of them floating in the middle of Chaos till this day

but let's agree that he exaggerated a bit in the guys' libido, right?

I'LL TELL YA THAT!

There were more gods than people in the train during rush hour!

Those that you have to enter practically by osmosis!

And you can't even put one of your feet on the ground or reach any kind of metal to hold yourself up

But you don't even need to...

Because the compact block of human beings around you already holds you up by itself!

With the laws of the physics that you, MATTER-OF-FACTLY, have just broken

when you managed to enter this wagon!

Just to give you some notion

TWO TITANS were responsible for more than

SIX

THOUSAND

CHILDREN!!!

And no...

I'm not joking this time.

But going back to where we were...

The fourth deity that I'll mention here is

Erebus, the realm of darkness

The most shady and inaccessible place, situated in Tartarus

And last, but not least, is Nyx...

NYX! (:*)

The feminine personification of the night.

Gaia, Tartarus, Eros, Erebus and Nyx (:*)

So far so good? Are you keeping up?

Erebus and Nyx got together and made a bunch of babies

Hemera, the day, a feminine deity

And Aether, the shine or pure air.

Actually, it's quite poetic when light comes from darkness

Nyx still gave birth to a whole lot of children afterwards, alone

without the help of Erebus

That's what "alone" means, Patricia!

APPLAUSES FOR ME!!! (CLAP, CLAP, CLAP, CLAP, CLAP)

Thanatos, the death

Hypnos, the sleep

Moros, the doom

and his three assistants, the Moirai

Nemesis, the vengeance

Oizys, the misery

Momus, the mockery

Eris, the strife

The Keres, feminine spirits of violent and bloody death

Geras, the old age

Oneiroi, the dreams

The Hesperides, guardians of the gods' garden, with Hera's gold apples

The number of Hesperides varies from two to nine, according to the sources

But in general, there were only three of them

And there's even the children that Eris gave birth to alone afterwards

To spare time, here's a quick subtitle with the name of the citizens

Wanna read?

Pause it.

(BAM!) "Fatigue, Oblivion, Pain in the body and in the soul, Battles, Combats, Homicide, Massacres, Lawsuits, Lies, Disputes, Lack of law, Disillusion and the Spirit of Oaths. (You can notice that Eris wasn't a very nice person.)

Gaia, inspired by Eros, got so sensitive and aroused

(Especially after witnessing her siblings' prominence)

that she got self-impregnated

And gave birth to three sons:

Uranus, the sky

Ourea, the mountains

and Pontus, the sea

Her son Uranus, as soon as he appeared, turned into a super blanket

a quite abusive and oppressive one

United with here and made some several babies in a bizarre and incestuous way

According to Hesiod, the first to "be born"

And here I say "to be born" between quotation marks, because they didn't actually leave Gaia

But I'll get to that...

Hold on!

were the six Titans and the six Titanesses

making twelve total

In order:

Oceanus

Coeus

Crius

Hyperion

Iapetus

Theia

Rhea

Themis

Mnemosyne

Phoebe

Tethys

and Cronus

the youngest, with a "bent thought"

Some authors translate it to "crooked thinking"

Or even "grim thinking"

But I'll simply call him "mischievous brat"

Please do not confuse him with Chronos

See the difference?!

Chronos

and Cronus

Chronos

and Cronus

There's a huge difference there!

ALRIGHT?!

Chronos is the personification of chronological time

It's where the word "CHRONOLOGICAL" comes from, matter-of-factly

and he was created by a sect called Orphism

that had another myth to explain the origin of the universe

and it wasn't much like this one that I'm telling now

Actually, both were very confused and sometimes even assimilated as time gone by

IN GREECE ITSELF

but theoretically, they're different deities

But moving on...

Following up, Gaia gave birth to the three blacksmith Cyclopes

Brontes, the thunder

Steropes, the lightning

and Arges, shiny

And at last...

Cottus

Briareus

and Gyges

The three Hecatoncheires

Huge monsters with fifty heads and a hundred arms each

Over-the-top?

NOOOOO!!!

REALLY?!!!

Just like me.

I learned it with the Greeks, you see?!

Everything has an explanation! :')

Uranus wouldn't let his children leave their mother's womb

in fear that he'd be dethroned by one of them

Apparently, as soon as he appeared, he became the god of gods

Probably self-proclaimed

Just because he's up high, he's bragging

Leave him be... <_<

The Cyclopes and the Hecatoncheires, he locked up in the Tartarus

The Titans were just forbidden to leave and see the light of day

Or, in fact, Aether

Since the sun, Hyperion, haven't left Gaia yet

Isn't that so?!

And now I'll stop here, there's more next week!

I hope you've enjoyed this video

Please share it with all your friends!

Let's spread the word of...

The word o...

The word of whom, since Zeus wasn't yet born YET?!

O_O

Let's spread the WORD on the interwebs!!!

(HAH)

I'll post videos every Tuesday at ten am sharp (GMT -3)
