Cut Corners | Idiom Meaning - Duration: 3:15.

English Winners. This video lesson is about the idiom: 'cutting corners" or to

'cut corners.' 'Don't cut corners on this job.' 'Don't cut corners on this job.' 'Don't

cut corners on this job.' 'We had to cut corners to finish the project on

schedule.' 'We had to cut corners to finish the project on schedule.' 'We had to cut

corners to finish the project on schedule.' So, what is cutting corners? Well

cutting corners is about how you do something. When you do something very

fast, and very cheap - in other words, very little money - they say you are cutting

corners, and when you cut corners, that often means that quality goes down.

Whatever you do is less good, because you are working with less time and less

resources - less money - right? So, there's a famous saying in project management, and

it goes like this: "Fast. Cheap. Good. Pick two." That's a famous saying because it's

very hard to do something fast, cheap, and good; usually, one of them has to suffer.

And when the quality or the goodness of something goes down, that is said to be

cutting corners. I'll give you a couple more examples. 'To save time and money, cut

corners on things the customer doesn't care about.' 'To save time and money, cut

corners on the things the customer doesn't care about.' 'To save time and

money, cut corners on things the customer doesn't care about.' The builders cut

corners when building the tower, putting everyone in danger.'

'The builders cut corners when they built the tower, putting everyone in danger.'

'The builders cut corners building the tower, putting everyone in

danger.' 'You see, cut corners started out having to do with races, or finding a

shorter route to get someplace. This was called a 'shortcut.' I may explain 'shortcut'

in another video. So the idea is: get someplace fast in a short time, but often

that shortcut leads to traffic jams and other surprises, making the trip longer.

So shortcuts are frowned upon. That means people don't want you to cut corners

usually, alright? So that is 'cut corners'. You can use this anytime that you

believe somebody is doing something fast or cheap, and not doing as good a job as

they could have done, had they invested the right amount of money, or the right

Xiaomi MI MIX 2 Android Phone Launched - Duration: 2:56.

Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 Android Phone Launched Today For the past several years, Xiaomi has introduced

us to many beautiful and innovative smartphones.

The most famous one of these devices was, most likely, the Xiaomi Mi Mix.

The Xiaomi Mi Mix was the first Bezel-less smartphone that became a large success globally.

After the Mi Mix, many major smartphone brands such as Apple and Samsung followed the hype

of adding edge-to-edge screens to their latest flagship models.

Today, September 11th, in Beijing, Xiaomi is expected to be officially introducing us

to the second version of their Mi Mix Smartphone.

Originally, the Mi Mix was launched as a concept phone, however, its immense popularity has

led to a new trend in the smartphone industry: bezel less displays.

Originally, last year's version of the Mi Mix got launched with a screen to body ratio

of 91.3%.

As stunning this already was, the Mi Mix 2 is expected to impress us even further with

a rumored 93% screen to body ratio.

Additionally, it has been stated that this display will feature a curved AMOLED panel.

The phone itself has been designed by the same designer as its predecessor so we can

be guaranteed that it will look absolutely stunning.

It is expected that this latest Android phone will feature a Snapdragon 835 or Snapdragon

838 Octa-Core processor.

Along with this powerful CPU, it will bring either 4GB or 6GB RAM.

This hardware is comparable to that of many other latest flagship smartphones such as

the OnePlus 5 and Galaxy Note 8.

Besides its impressive chipset, the phone will treat you to either 128GB or 256GB internal

storage.

Naturally, the main selling point of the phone's display is the fact that it is bezel less,

however, the screen has so much more to offer.

With a size of 6.2-Inch, it will truly treat its users so an unlimited visual experience.

Added to that, it will feature a breathtaking Quad-HD display resolution of 2560 x 1440p.

Other features worth mentioning of this flagship Android phone are its 21MP rear camera, a

whopping 4500mAh battery, Dual-Band WiFi, and 3D facial recognition support.

Also, it is rumored that the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 may be running on the newly released Android

8.0 operating system.

And last but not least, the phone will feature a 3.5mm headphone jack!

hello everybody it's Kadzowe with Kadzoweforafrica and welcome to my channel

breaking news and I'll get right to it what is DACA? well DACA is Deferred

Action for Childhood Arrivals and so what that means is that this is very

different from international students DACA are the children of individuals who

immigrated into the United States with no legal paperwork and so as you know

the USA is the land of opportunity and there are some individuals who are able

to get into the United States without official legal paperwork and so DACA is

a law that is being discussed in the news by the new president and the

administration about how they're going to deal with all these children who are in the United States with no official type of paperwork so the first

thing I want you to know as an international student is this do not

worry you are legal you came into this country using the US Embassy or

consulate in your own country you came in with an i-20 you have all the legal

information you need to be able to explore opportunities here in the United

States and so that law and that policy does not affect you specifically as an

international student so I hope that is helpful because I've been getting a lot

of emails about what's happening now with immigration and immigrants as an

international students on f1 visa status your situation is very different so

hopefully that piece of advice is very useful now if you are a DACA individual

who is watching this video I would like you to know that they the update as of

today according to the New York Times is that an agreement has been reached to

see how the rights can be protected so you don't have to be scared just yet I

know that there's a lot going on with the new administration but hang in there

and I'll keep you updated on how things go but if you are a student or anybody

who has entered the United States legally on f1 visa status then this does

not pertain to you so hopefully at this breaking news was useful to you if you
