#2 LA MACHINE CONTRE LE FAUX CAFE | La Clavette - Duration: 10:12.We're off to start the Vietnam episode.
Hi! I'm working at a coffee shop in Vietnam.
Thank you!
You know, when you're a nomad,
you end up working in all kinds of places
and, most of the time,
I end up working in coffee shops like this one.
Good thing that this episode
is about Positive Engineering and coffee.
There's a true coffee tradition in Vietnam.
You can find it from the North
down to the South of the country.
Even though there are a lot of consumers,
the competition is tough.
There can even be several coffee shops
in the same building.
Here, they make coffee
with a metallic filter called "phin".
This technique was brought by the French
during the colonisation.
Then they add condensed milk and ice
to make a popular drink called "Cà phê sữa đá".
The problem is that most consumers
don't know that there is a scam.
It's a fake!
Yes, there are some dishonest coffee shops
using fake coffee.
We're going to show you an exceptional recipe.
Never seen before.
Let me explain to you how fake coffee is made.
They cut the coffee with burnt corn and soy.
Then they add chemicals for taste
such as mercury,
chloramphenicol, which is an antibiotic,
or sodium dodecyl sulfate,
which is also used as a detergent.
Basically, they turn a great drink
into a poison.
What a shame.
Especially when you know
the country is the second international coffee exporter.
An engineer has decided to solve this problem.
I'm meeting him at one of his coffee shops.
My name is Hải,
I live in the South of Vietnam.
I'm the head of the School of Innovation
and Entrepreneurship at the University.
My main job is to work with several startups
and young people in the HCMC area (ex-Saigon).
Bá Hải loves innovation
and he's involved in many projects.
But for the last few years,
one particular project has held his attention.
We try to build a team called JAVI Coffee.
We hope we can apply technology
to change the coffee quality
that humans drink everyday.
Then we can reduce the number of people
who have a problem with cancer and so on,
which is very common in Vietnam.
To this end,
they have made a coffee machine of a new kind
designed for coffee shops.
We want to keep the taste of Vietnamese coffee
but with higher speed.
And to reduce the amount of coffee powder
for every cup.
The coffee made with a phin filter
is strong and has a lot of taste.
But it requires a lot of coffee.
Not to mention that this is a slow technique…
very slow.
With the JAVI machine,
you can make twice as many cups
out of the same amount of coffee.
And it substantially reduces the preparation time.
To create this system,
the team was inspired by techniques
used in different parts of the world.
Japan has the siphon technology.
Vietnam has the traditional filter.
And Italy has the espresso technology.
They are mixing
and they are the core of the JAVI coffee maker.
Obviously, I had to try that coffee.
I confirm that it's pretty delicious
and does keep this taste
that is so specific to Vietnamese coffee.
That's nice!
Yeah, many people like it.
In the end, Bá Hải's strategy is simple.
As the machine allows coffee shops
to serve good quality coffee
at a low price,
they no longer have a reason to use fake coffee.
To make his machines,
Bá Hải works with local factories.
The machine is totally produced in Vietnam.
It's important for him
to stay close to his manufacturers
and to ensure everyone's good working conditions.
We want to provide them
with a place to drink coffee [inaudible]
and play a little bit when they are free.
Since Vietnam is beside China
and China is already famous
as the factory of the world,
we want to create more jobs
and more flexibility for Vietnam.
We want young Vietnamese generations
to be able to build such machines,
like in South Korea, Japan and so on.
The machine construction
isn't the only thing Bá Hải supervises.
He also makes sure
that the entire production chain,
from the coffee beans to the coffee cup,
is responsible.
So let's leave the city to see one of the farms
where JAVI's coffee is grown.
We are close to Dalat,
where the owner is showing us her farm.
She is very proud of her crops
and she dressed up to show us around.
The tree is blooming.
Here, there are hectares of coffee plants
and not a trace of chemicals.
We can buy coffee beans from farmers
for 10 to 30% more,
depending on the quality they can provide.
The harvested coffee is bundled
and shipped to one of JAVI coffee shops
to be roasted.
By roasting the coffee in his premises,
Bá Hải makes sure that no chemicals are added.
They also enjoy the good smell of coffee
in the whole room.
JAVI even produces a coffee called 007
made with MaCallan, James Bond's whiskey.
50 years old MaCallan.
A particular favourite of yours, I understand.
Lastly, the coffee is packed to be used
in one of the many coffee shops of the city.
The first day we went out,
we sold only 10 cups of coffee a day.
But now about 20 000 cups a day
at a very good price.
Anyone can buy it, even the students.
And we created more than
one hundred part-time jobs
and full-time jobs for young people.
Bá Hải is also Education Officer
at the University of Technology.
That's not a surprise
since he loves to share knowledge.
That's why the main coffee shop
does not only serve coffee.
It's also a makerspace
where people can come to make objects.
And on Sundays,
there are technology lessons
where the professor's students
tutor children who are fond of innovation.
Every week,
they come to learn to develop a product.
They learn to program,
to wire electrical circuits
and even to speak English.
This year I am 10 on my birthday.
We're learning how to build real things
so we can make it work.
I call them the future Vietnamese Edisons
or Elon Musks.
We want young people to change the country
with technology and innovation.
Innovating, that's what Bá Hải does everyday.
In fact, one of his other projects is Robotiv Eye:
obstacle-detecting glasses for the blind.
I tell you everything about it
on the website www.laclavette.fr
where you can find more information.
I'm telling you about it
because the money generated by JAVI Coffee
helps to make these glasses affordable
for the most needy.
Bá Hải creates links
so that each project benefits from the other ones.
This professor really is one of a kind.
After explaining how to wire a dashboard,
he'll also talk about
how important meditation is.
An inspiring man,
always in this balance of the body,
the heart and the spirit.
I think the world is huge,
in physical dimension
but the distance between the hearts,
different cities,
different races,
different human beings,
is very small.
And I hope that this world would be better
if we can make human beings closer
to solve common problems and issues.
Not bad, right?
JAVI Coffee is Positive Engineering
for 3 reasons.
First:
a product that solves a health issue.
We tend to think that counterfeiting
is all about laws and regulations
and that it doesn't have much to do with Engineering.
However, Bá Hải identified the problem
of fake coffee
and used his skills as an Engineer
to bring a solution.
A well-designed product can impact an entire industry
and even solve health issues.
Second: controlling the production chain,
from the coffee beans to the coffee cup.
Bá Hải didn't just develop the JAVI machine.
He also looked for a way
to have a responsible and good quality production chain.
And everyone involved in the production chain
works in an atmosphere of respect and trust.
Putting a bit of humanity back into the industry,
doesn't it sound great?
Finally, the third reason:
a positive ecosystem.
There's an entire ecosystem around JAVI.
The generated money helps develop
glasses for the blind.
The main store, which is also a makerspace
and a classroom for future inventors,
is a true innovation hub.
And as a professor, Bá Hải never fails
to include his students by making them work,
whether on developing machines
or in his coffee shops.
There is a lot of interaction between all of these elements,
which creates a dynamic and positive ecosystem.
In the end, Positive Engineering
is just like Professor Bá Hải.
It's dedicating all of your energy
to solve social problems,
innovating again and again,
without ever forgetting what matters most:
the heart.
Alright, I grab my bag and my coffee beans
and I'm off to Cambodia for another example
of Positive Engineering.
A big thank you to Kevin,
who helpd me shoot this episode.
And if you liked it,
don't hesitate to give it a thumb up,
to share it or to comment.
And of course, you can find more initiatives and more episodes
by subscribing to La Clavette.
See you soon!

HOW TO ACHIEVE ALL YOUR TRADING GOALS (Goal Setting Technique) - Duration: 6:15.What's up guys, welcome back!
Another beautiful day today.
It's a little bit cloudy, but I've been backtesting these past couples of days...it's been really
tiring.
Some strategies give the same thing that I already trade, which means I'm not gonna modify
something just for fun.
But, I'm doing some more work on that topic.
Now, let's go do some work, here around.
Find a coffee shop and try to do something productive.
It's been quite productive and there is this concept that I've been starting to work with
called the 12-week year.
I think I wanna talk about that today and dive into this a little more.
You see, the way most people see their goals is they sit down at the beginning of the year
and they think about what they want to accomplish, the big goals they have for next year.
Someone might think: "well, I want to become a profitable trader.
That's my goal for the next year".
And then, they kind of write this down.
Kind of think about it a little bit.
That's like their goal.
And then the only thing they think about is hard work.
They're going to have to work hard to reach that goal of becoming a successful trader.
Now, you kind of know what's gonna happen with this story, right?
People are gonna leave their goal away or they're going to be distracted by something
else.
Or, the other thing that might happen is that they might not know what to do.
They just do the wrong task all the time until they see no results and get frustrated.
That happens a lot.
Instead of saying this, I prefer this kind of different way of setting goals, which is:
yes, you can have like big outcomes that you see for the future but you also need this
kind of smaller (kind of) action steps along the way.
And the book I came across is called the 12-Week Year.
And it's showing you how you can get as much done in 12 weeks as in a full year, which
is pretty insane.
The way the process works is that you set some goals at the beginning of the year, for
example.
The big things you want to accomplish by the end of that year.
And then you break it down into different parts, so every single part has 12 weeks.
And those different 12-week periods have different goals (kind of smaller goals).
And within those goals, you need to put in actions, things that you do on a daily basis.
Because you probably heard before that the success you see is based on your habits and
what you do daily.
And that's exactly what we talk about.
So I like to establish some goals and some things that I track.
The problem when I first started with this is I had some actions that I wanted to do,
but I didn't really track how I was doing them, which is making it harder.
Today I was creating this spreadsheet of all the tasks I need to get done and how much
I get done (like percentages I reach every month or every 12 months).
Once you have these 12-week periods broken down into smaller goals, then you can go to
the weekly.
What are the things you need to do weekly to get to those goals?
Let's say your goal for 2017 was to become a profitable trader.
You want to trade Forex, you want to become profitable.
So you're gonna have different parts, of course.
And, we won't look at all of it, for now.
We'll just look at the first 12 weeks.
So let's say we were January 1st...what are the things you need to do like right now to
see the most progress toward your goal (become profitable)?
And the first thing might be to research someting online.
You might give yourself like 2 weeks to do that.
The other one might be to backtest something.
You might give yourself 4 weeks cause it takes a long time sometimes...whatever.
And then, once you backtested that, the next step is gonna be create your plan, test something,
learn about money management.
You might give yourself 2 weeks for each of them.
And that's gonna conclude pretty much your 12 weeks I believe.
But you need to identify those in advance.
And every 12-week period should have a clear outcome (a clear thing you want to reach).
We don't really care here whether you reach the 12-week outcome that you set.
It doesn't really matter.
What really matters is if you execute properly on your plan.
Because, not reaching your 12-week goal might be based on 2 things.
First possibility is you didn't execute the actions you were supposed to execute in your
12-week plan, same thing as not trading your trading plan.
It's basically the same.
And the 2nd possibility is that your plan is not effective.
Now, those are really different things and you're gonna tackle them differently.
If your plan is not effective is not effective for the first 12 weeks, guess what?
You still have 3 more 12 weeks in the year to do things differently.
Hence why, you have a lot of possibilities to improve.
And that's always the goal.
I believe in a growth mindset and I believe that you get better over time by the things
you change and how you execute on things.
And that's all there is to it.
Then of course you want to review like every month to sure you're on track on your progress
and to kind of figure out what things you didn't do as you were supposed to do and how
you can correct them for the next month.
That's very important!
And that was the thing I've been doing today: the monthly review.
Cause it's been 4 weeks now in my 12 week period.
And, I'm kind of not happy about the progress I've made.
I kind of skipped some parts.
I did the 12 weeks before I left for my trip, then I (kind of) stopped for summer and then
I'm (kind of) back to it.
It's always a process of improvement and I have something I know I'll have to improve,
but I just want to share this with you guys cause I believe it's really really effective
and really useful when you want to reach your goals.
So figure out what is the goal you want to reach.
If you want to get on this 12-week journey with me, I'd love to keep you updated on it
and do my best to help you out.
And if you have any questions about like what goals you want to reach or how to reach them,
I'll do my best to help you out.
Today, I've been talking a lot about goals.
I hope you guys enjoy this (kind of) topic.
I hope this is valuable to you.
If so, please give a like to the video, I'd really appreciate.
I do my best to bring you the most value and things that people don't talk about sometimes.
I didn't see that many people talk about trading goal, hence why I wanted to do this video
and make sure you guys have something to keep going and some things you keep progressing
toward.
As I've heard once, a goal without a plan is like a dream and you don't want to have
that.
So thanks for watching guys, I appreciate.

Sadly, no, it only bounces slightly off the slime block...
Here's a comparison:
Hey, will it work if I sit in it while it hovers???
Oh, the boat's the wrong way. :P
Aw, it didn't work...
I think it might've bounced higher than the hovering boat though...
Yep, nothing changes with the minecarts if I sit on it...
Any other rideable things to test?
Nope...
Welp, I guess that's all for the (Semi) Hovering Boat!
Thanks for watching, the video I was setting up should be ready soon...
You should watch one of these videos to my right while waiting!

Your acrylic craft paint in any colors you want, water balloons, some tape, and a push

CNLohr will be at MAGLabs 2017 (Sept 2,3) - Duration: 2:12.Hello, how's it going.
Where are you going to be this weekend?
The weekend of the second and third, 2017.
I'm gonna be right here in Alexandria, VA at MAGLabs.
Well, what is MAGLabs?
It's got a bunch of music like this inside jamspace, outside rooms, in the middle of
hallways and wherever, and heck.
Even the hotel forier's got some people jammin' out.
But, that's not it, it's also got video games.
A lot of video games.
Custom indie video games.
And well heck.
Expo rooms full of video games.
It's also got board games and heck even some video games I helped make, like NeonFM right
here.
But, that's not it.
It's got some of the smartest people I know working on some of the coolest proejcts that
I've ever seen.
Some of their own personal projects, or sometimes there are peoeple working tirelessly around
the clock to make the event the best it could possibly be.
Oh, yeah!
And if you come, you get one of these.
It's a swadge.
It's got an ESP8266 and if you have supporter, you can get this nice swanky screen you can
solder on.
Now, these things are cool, but there's other projects people are working on, like this,
and this.
Mark decided to go make MAGFest plays pokemon where a bunch of people in a room get to control
who's clicking what on the screen.
I think that's pretty cool.
Is is I think you upload.
I don't know I just flashed it and it seems this thing is working from the github repo.
Do you put the wifi stuff in the github repo?
*Laughter*.
This is amazing.
Of course you probably want to do that, cause otherwise how are you going to encourage people
to do it? *chuckles* Charles.
We have a hacker con.
And did I mention there's a room entirely filled with legos?

Husband Leaves Paralyzed Wife After 14 Years Together, Then She Falls In Love With Her
Trainer
In March 2015, Riona Kelly, a mom of four, suffered a spinal stroke that left her paralyzed
from the waist down.
On top of her stroke, Riona's husband informed his wife that he wanted a divorce after being
married for 14 years.
"It was the time I needed my husband the most," Riona said.
"After my husband left me in hospital, my friend, Sarah, became my next of kin, it was
her and the children that supported me during my recovery."
Then one more person came into Riona's life to help her through this difficult time.
Riona's personal trainer, Keith Mason, was there to help her physically.
The pair then started developing a bond much stronger than patient and trainer.
"After our sessions, Keith and I stayed in contact, he would ask me how I was getting
on and our relationship blossomed from there," Riona said.
"We have now been together for 11 months, the children really like him and I finally
feel like I'm living the life I deserve."
Keep scrolling to learn more about Riona and Keith and their happily ever after!
[H/T: Sun] This is Riona Kelly, 37.
In March 2015 the mom of four suffered a spinal stroke that left her paralyzed from the waist
down.
"I really miss having the full use of my legs, I just miss silly little things that
most of us take for granted," Riona wrote in an emotional Instagram post.
Around the same time as her stroke, Riona's husband of 14 years decided it was time for
a divorce.
Riona not only had to go through rehabilitation alone, she had to cope with the loss of her
marriage and partner.
"It was the time I needed my husband the most," Riona said.
"At the time I felt like giving up, but I knew I had to be strong for my children."
So the mom continued to work hard to try and prove the doctors wrong and attempt to walk
again.
"I put a post on Facebook last January looking for a personal trainer to help me and some
friends suggested that I get in touch with Keith," Riona said.
Riona started training with 35-year-old Keith Mason and the two formed a bond much deeper
than trainer and trainee.
The two ended up keeping in contact, then formed a romantic relationship.
"I thank the Lord for bringing my soul mate into my life," Riona wrote online.
"Apart from my children I have never loved anyone the way that I love my best friend."
Riona and Keith have been together almost one year and the mom couldn't be happier
to have found him when she needed someone to depend on most.
Keith helped Riona battle back from her stroke through different training sessions.
The mom shocked doctors when her rehab was paying off and she started to walk again.
"I was dragging my body and I had no feeling in my legs but I didn't care, I was walking
and that's all that mattered," she remembered.
"Every day I built up my strength and after four months in the hospital, I was finally
allowed to go home."
Riona went home to her children and they started raising funds for research for spinal strokes.
She still trains with Keith and needs her wheelchair for long distances.
"Looking back, going through what I did was the best thing to ever happen to me,"
the mom said.
"I'm now back in the gym, and with Keith's help I'm getting better and stronger than
ever."
Riona credits a lot of her progress to the amazing support system she has at home with
her family, friends, and of course newfound love Keith.
"Keith says I inspire him, but he encourages me every day and understands and sees the
pain that I am in," Riona said.
"He has been amazing with me and the children and I love him more each and
every day."
