U: So they - recently BTS has been releasing solo tracks as teaser(s) for their comebacks.

U: So J-hope the rapper would - had a(n) intro single to their Wings album,

U: And then Jimin had an intro single for their Love Yourself album,

U: Then Jungkook had kind of a single for a concept sum-up video thing,

U: And then now we have Taehyung, or V, for their next concept.

U: So the lyrics for this song were written by RM, and the song was produced by Charlie J. Perry.

U: And this one there are a bunch of fan theories going around,

U: Talking about maybe this video being related to Ophelia, Phantom of the Opera, or Narcissus.

U: And Korean fans think that the whole message of the song was about two conflicting egos within yourself,

U: One being the facade, which is how we desire ourselves to be presented on the outside, like a mask;

U: Or the other one being your real self who is struggling and drowning in a lake to show itself.

U: A layer of thick ice on the lake is preventing the real self to be revealed,

U: But when spring comes, the song is saying that, the ice will melt you, and you'll be able to accept yourself within time.

U: And that BTS is trying to promote the idea of loving yourself, and so fans believe that this is the perfect concept for learning to love yourself.

Katie: That's awesome.

F: The dancing is so cool because it's like a little more active than the - Lindsey: it's so minimal

F: The vo - the vocal line and like what's actually going on. It's like really fun to watch. L: The visuals are awesome.

F: Looks like a modern dance more. Yeah. Ya know. L: Yeah.

F: I think that's why.

F: It's the speed of it.

Henry: I like that so many of the movements are so sharp,

H: And nothing about the music is sharp.

H: It all sounds like it's underwater, drowning in reverb.

H: None of the moves are angular, all round edges and; yet the choreography is just not that way.

Kevin: The things they do to make picardy thirds sound special.

K: This one they add the "wah-wah-wah" only on the picketing third.

K: Like it's a mom - like it's a momentous event.

Lindsey: Like, this is in like a very slow three, and sometimes there's only a sound on the downbeat.

Fiona: Ooh.

F: His thick was so re - his voice was so resonant and thick, what?

L: His thick was so voice and resonant. F: Like down there.

Katie: It's like super laid back.

K: But their movements aren't.

K: Oh! It's the conflicting thing, maybe.

K: Between like what you're - wanna look like and what you actually are.

K: Maybe that's what that was

K: Like he's trying to act all cool, but in the inside he's like [silly]

Henry: Yeah. Elizabeth: That's really effective. H: Again, with the sharp images. E: Oh that's such good lighting. Oh my god.

H: Wow. Oh my god. This is incredible.

Peyton: That was interesting.

Charlotte: I'm trying to like, form my thoughts.

C: I think it's interesting that you mentioned like Ophelia and Narcissus, and like referencing to all of these.

C: You know, characters that are supposed to teach and messages and stuff like that.

C: But like, the interesting, like, comparison of Ophelia, who has drowned herself in a river for the love of somebody else,

C: Versus Narcissus, that's so in love with himself that he can't stop staring at his own reflection.

C: And so it's just weird to have that comparison in, in one.

Umu: Are you leaning towards a specific theory?

C: I don't know, because I don't get that the message of the song is narcissism.

C: Because Narcissus is more about like "Hey, you know, like, you can't fall in love with yourself. That's kind of ridiculous."

C: But like, you can love yourself.

C: So I'm so confused, cause both of them are not a message of loving yourself.

C: They're kind of warnings like, you shouldn't fall like Head over heels for the wrong person, and think that they're the only thing for you.

C: But like, also, don't fall in love with yourself to the point that it's like - it's like two extremes of love.

C: But they're totally on opposite ends of the spectrum. Because one is completely forgetting about yourself, and another is just thinking about yourself.

C: And it seems like the message of this song is like, "Find the happy medium".

C: It's just like, weird to have those two conflicting messages in the same thing.

Umu: Other than the concept, what do you think about the music, and how it went with the visuals and maybe the atmosphere they're trying to create with the sounds?

Lindsey: The backgrounds being so simple but like - and spaced out. Everyone was very spaced out. Fiona: Yeah.

L: It was just relaxed and it would just - F: It was about the voice. So sensual. Cause his voice was. L: Yeah. And his voice was so smooth, and like, just.

L: Mm.

Umu: Yeah, and you talked a lot about how you felt like the choreography was moving much faster.

U: Do you think it supported the music brought out? F: Oh, yeah. I thought it did it like - L: I think it definitely did.

F: Made it about the mood of the music.

F: It wasn't like, really about like what except emotions that you're doing.

F: It was like, it was like the flow of it, and whenever they add the props and the masks like moving around (L: Yeah.)

F: That was just so cool. L: Yeah, it reflected it.

Peyton: I thought that they were setting up for pretty clear contrast, between their movements and what was actually happening aurally.

P: I don't know, like a lot of music videos like, aren't really supposed to kind of portray like a live performance,

P: But like, it was just very stark as like he was like kind of lightly singing with a lot of air in his voice

P: But he was like doing these like, really complicated fast movements and the dances.

P: And so that's just like, it was like, man, you first thought it was like

P: "How does he sound like that while he's moving so fast?"

P: And then you realize like, you know, very quickly, obviously it's like,

P: Oh.

P; You know, they're totally different worlds, you know.

P: Like, I mean, just because also how like slow their music was going.

P: It was, I mean - C: Everything sat on the back of the beat.

P: Yeah, and the movements were so like, fast. C: But it wasn't, it wasn't all the time that they were -

C: Like double timing for the dance aspect.

C: There's times that they definitely move to fill the space between like the bigger beats, rather than moving faster.

C: So it was just, again, another interesting mix of two opposites coming together.

Kevin: I really like it.

K: Aw man, the way it ends, it does not ruin the end that the ethos of the song

Isaac: Yeah! Like the chorus, like it would just pick up a little bit.

I: And just like hit you with a really heavy bass, as to accentuate that,

I: "This is the chorus".

I: But then you're just still going to that really smooth -

I: Like for some reason. I couldn't get a sense of like anything, like the form of the song.

I: Unless, there was a good downbeat to it,

I: It was like "This is it".

I: And then, yeah. It's because the way it just continuously flows.

I: And it just keeps going.

K: This is the least radio-friendly song I've heard, just in terms of mixing.

K: And that gives me a lot of faith.

K: Especially because one of the biggest things I dislike about a lot of BTS songs,

K: Is their sound is just so radio-friendly.

K: Everything's always popping out at you.

K: Even for a song like I I Need U. It's catchy. It's great.

K: But everything just is straight up in your face, and I feel like there could be more nuance, and then out comes this.

K: I'm like, guys.

K: Solo is where life is.

K: If you could put this in your group,

K: BTS could really musically live up to their their status

Hemry: Okay, everything about BTS is so concept driven.

H: And I am a bitch for concept driven music.

H: Like, It's just true.

H: It didn't really come across when we were reacting to the Wings thing with BTS. But like, concept music.

H: This just feels like, it's so much about something, and yet it's like a fragment.

H: You feel like you understand so much.

H: But the thing that you understand is that you want to know more.

H: Ah.

H: So smart.

H: I also liked that it never got too dynamically huge.

H: It's very clear that that was an intentional decision.

H: It didn't feel rushed in any way. It super took its time.

H: It left so much space for you to understand what was going on.

H: I just, oh my god. It was genius construction

H: It was really excellent.

Elizabeth: It was rhythmically very simple, so you were just like waiting there on the edge of your seat for the chord to change.

E: Which is really - kind of felt like I was floating the whole time.

E: Which is - especially with the visuals.

E: With the very, very colorful lighting, but very stark lines in the video.

E: And the close-ups of like, ice and ripples on water, like it was definitely an aesthetic they were going for.

E: And musically they really made it work.

E: And I really appreciated how all of the like, you know, quick changes, and music in the harmony, like they reflected that in the video.

E: That's, that's my shit.

guys there's so many fun things in here and I love that the backpack is a really

good size it can fit a laptop in here it also has this really nice cushion on the

back as well as really really cushioned straps on it as well so hopefully it

won't break your back, please don't get mad at me if it does. I don't want this

video to take an hour so I'm gonna just quickly go through everything we have

these double doodlers they are dual ended markers I tried to be

matchy-matchy as much as I could so we have a really cute binder with all kinds

of really cute stuff on it we got shoes we got popcorn, lollipops, popsicles

strawberries, lipstick, yeah all the cute stuff then we have a little matching

pencil bag I really like this it's got unicorns and strawberries and hashtag

happy that's what the winner is gonna be and they win all this cool stuff. We have

a composition book with little clouds my head's always in the clouds this is very

fitting. A little notebook with a lot of cute stuff on it I thought that was

really cute just a standard notebook I mean nothing too fancy but I think it's

cute nonetheless. Folders who doesn't love folders especially cute

ones of course everyone has to have some filler paper so here's some filler paper

for you nothing fancy we just need some paper.

We know we're mostly gonna be just doodling while the teacher talks anyway

I thought this little clipboard was kind of cute it has a little diamond on it

all need pens, I got black pens and blue pens. Pencils, again number two's for

those standardized tests you guys still do those fill in the bubbles gotta have

your number two pencil. Sharpie highlighters these are always nice to

have I love sharpies and speaking of which look at all these I've never even

bought sharpies for myself you notice how sharpies just appear and we always

steal them whether it's at work or I don't know one flies under your desk or

don't steal but I mean don't we all do that? We got glue don't make slime with

this kids use it for school okay I sound like a mom but on my mom's

so it's fitting. Gum! last year you guys said you loved that I gave you a candy

and gum I might throw in some candy at the very end but definitely gotta have

gum for the fresh breath you don't want coffee breath or you just need gum give

one to your friend too it'll make your life a lot easier. We have really cute

little Clips going with the theme of sort of the neon and tie-dye. You guys

told me like this company I think it's called you know I can't pronounce things

Yoobi? One for you one for me that's really cute a little toucan on there and

then a lot of cool stickers for your planner and whatnot. Little cute paper

clips who can resist we have cake and I don't know a donut and some ice cream. We

have some mechanical pencils, pencil sharpener so you don't have to get up in

class embarrass yourself, I used to hate that. Post-it notes these are like the little

tab ones they're page markers for when you're studying. Cute little unicorn

pouch for change or money or whatever you want to put in there. You had to have

the ruled index cards and these ones are pretty extra with the different colors. I

just thought this little notepad was cute it's a little pineapple with heart

sunglasses. A holographic little pouch and inside there's some paper clips but

you could put anything inside here. You guys like these last year they're smelly

pens. Speaking of smelling good I'm giving you

two projects seven gourmet gum packs one is the cupcake bites and the other one

is fairytale fruit. Tissues! You never know when you have to clean yourself?

The cutest little glue sticks ever I love these they're so adorable with

pineapples and watermelon and cupcakes and strawberries. Sticking with the theme

again we have some cute little highlighters I love it they're also

little pineapples and watermelons and rainbows. I thought this was really cute

it's a little lanyard and it has a little unicorn. More post-its

we've got neon pink. You guys told me on Twitter that's where I take a lot of

suggestions that you wanted locker decorations I couldn't find too many of

them but these are really cute they stick to your locker they're magnetic

and you can write things on them with what can you write erasable marker or a

chalk pen. Okay so we've got a stapler and staples, more post-it notes, really

cute little erasers that go on the top of your pencil

and they are doughnuts and then probably my favorite thing that I got besides PopSockets

to give you guys is this I got one for myself as well it's the cutest

notebook it says beat instafamous and it actually

has tips on starting an Instagram it's super cute it says welcome to the world

the blogging, vlogging, selfie taking an emoji loving. I just thought this was so

cute it tells you how to get started how to improve your Instagram and make it

I love these pixie fairy lights you're getting one of those in rose gold ooh

and look at this kiss proof SLAYYY, also some pinky swear clip paints these

are for your lips their lip colors. You're getting these shadows from the

balm. You're also going to be getting this contour palette from Kokie

cosmetics there's all kinds of facial products we've got some hungarian water

essence by belif we've got some lip balm you're also gonna be getting some

face masks i think there's three or four of them also some derma e products which

I absolutely love. A brush more lip colors and all kinds

of stuff i have thrown in there for you. I'm a mom and I would definitely give

one of these to my daughter if she was in high school I don't know about middle

school cuz I don't know what the age requirements are for this this is a very

beautiful purse charm but it's not just a purse charm or

something that goes on your keychain to look good it is for protection it is

for self-defense I take this very seriously but this one is so cute it's a

bling sting and it's a pepperspray it's been seen in Cosmo magazine and I have

one of these myself as well as the Tazzer but those can be a no-no in a lot of

places so this is good enough I don't know if you know what this is even

though it's cute it is for your protection and it should be taken 100%

seriously so again if you're not of the age to

have one of these you can disregard it in the giveaway but you definitely need
