In fitness nutrition, one thing you hear the most about is protein protein protein…
If you want to build muscle, get enough protein.
Losing weight?
Well, eat your protein!
Stay the same weight?
Protein.
Just wanna chill on the couch all day and do nothing?
Well, then you're gonna need PROTEIN!
We're tirelessly told that we need it, but exactly how much protein should we be eating?
If you look up RDAs from places like the World Health Organization and National Academy of
Sciences, you'll typically find numbers around .8 to 1 gram per KILOGRAM of your bodyweight.
A modest amount, but nothing massive.
For a 180-pound male, that's roughly two chicken breasts or three and a half scoops
of your favorite protein supplement.
But, these recommendations are for the average person simply meeting daily requirements for
a healthy life.
Since almost all fitness goals revolve around either building or preserving muscle tissue,
naturally it will require more protein.
One of the ways to determine adequate protein intake is measuring your nitrogen balance.
From the three macronutrients, protein is the only one that contains the element nitrogen.
Knowing this, researchers can figure out if you're eating enough protein by measuring
the nitrogen content in your food and the nitrogen content that you excrete.
The goal is to achieve a positive nitrogen balance, meaning the amount of nitrogen you're
consuming is greater than the amount leaving your body.
Of course, measuring your own nitrogen balance is a rather, complicated task.
Fortunately, we can look at studies to determine the best value for positive nitrogen balance
or educatively guess the best amount for building or preserving muscle.
For people that don't work out and just want a healthy dose of protein, then the RDA
of .8 grams per kilogram of bodyweight is completely fine.
In fact, studies show that subjects can achieve a positive nitrogen balance with only 15 percent
of their nutrition coming from protein, pretty much spot on with the RDA.
When you add exercise and goals to the mix, though, things quickly change.
When it comes to weight loss, intuitive thinking might tell you, you need less protein since
you generally eat less to begin with.
Studies, however, show favorable results from those that eat a higher protein diet, especially
if they are either experienced lifters or have a low bodyfat percentage.
The more bodyfat you have, the more you can get away with eating less protein.
And the more intense you are training, the more protein you need to supplement the break
down that will occur.
All this being said, for people wanting to lose weight or bodyfat while preserving lean
mass, eating roughly 1.6 grams to 2.3 grams per kilogram of bodyweight tend to do the
trick granted you are exercising enough.
Bear in mind, though, that even the subjects eating the most protein still saw a drop in
overall lean mass, just not as much as those eating less.
For people wanting to bulk, surprisingly, the studies tend to favor protein amounts
lower than your weight loss counterparts.
Almost all studies showed similar improvements in muscle protein synthesis with a protein
intake of 1.2 to 2.2 grams per kilogram of bodyweight, those that are more fit requiring
the higher end of the spectrum.
Strength gains, however, do favor a protein intake above 3 grams per kilogram, but is
not exactly necessary, especially if you're a beginning to intermediate lifter.
In any case, there are drawbacks to eating too much protein.
For weight loss, eating too much protein means fewer calories from the more energy-efficient
macronutrients carbs and fats.
Not only will you have less energy, chances are that it will be much more difficult to
adhere to your diet since it leaves little room for more desirable food choices.
For weight gain, too much protein will make it difficult to meet calorie needs since it
will make you feel full quicker.
Protein is also the most energy-inefficient macronutrient, requiring your body to take
roughly 30% of the calories from protein just to digest and use it as energy.
So if you struggle meeting these ranges mentioned, try sticking to the low end of the spectrum
or at the very least, try meeting the minimum requirement of 0.8 grams per kilogram of bodyweight.
And no, unless you already have renal issues, eating too much protein will not destroy your
kidneys.
Studies show that people can get away with eating as much as 4.5 grams of protein per
kilogram of bodyweight with no health issues.
Last but not least, never forget that having the proper exercise program paired with proper
nutrition is your best bet.
If you feel confident about your workouts, give these recommendations a shot and see
if it works for you.
If you have any recommendations yourself, share it in the comments.

Treasonous Fake news outlet CNN appears to encourage Trump assassination to point out that an Obama - Duration: 5:43.
Treasonous?
Fake news outlet CNN appears to encourage Trump assassination to point out that an Obama
Cabinet member would take over as president.
by: JD Heyes.
(NaturalNews) The far Left has become so unhinged in the wake of President-elect Donald J. Trumps
victory over Hillary Clinton in November that its behavior is bordering on the criminal.
And treason.
Discredited fake news outlet CNN is being heavily criticized for a report that seems
to suggest there could be an assassination of the president-elect in the offing, and
should that happen, an Obama Cabinet pick would be waiting in the wings to take over.
As reported by Infowars, the story, headlined, Disaster could put Obama cabinet member
in the Oval Office, says there is no specific threat that is targeting the inauguration,
but then goes on to fantasize about who would be in charge if an attack hit the incoming
presidentjust as the transfer of power is underway.
You can almost feel the dripping resentment for Trump and the hope that something bad
would happen to him just so an Obama sycophant could seize the reins of power (and save
the country from the disaster of Trump, of course).
CNN said that an individual named the designated presidential successor will not be at the
inauguration as a security precaution, but it wont be a Trump cabinet secretaryit
will be an Obama appointee.
The report goes on to emphasize that a president from the prior administration
would then take power if there is an attack because none of Trumps Cabinet picks have
been confirmed yet by the Senate.
According to the fake news network, the designated presidential successor would probably be Tom
Shannon, the Under Secretary for Political Affairs and an Obama appointee (thanks for
publishing his identity, CNNgood thing you were around to blow the lid off that D-Day
invasion during World War II).
CNN teases the potential attack scenario on the inauguration by noting it would create
chaos and high theater, then aired clips from ABCs weekly series Designated
Survivor, starring Kiefer Sutherland who plays an obscure Cabinet secretary who is
unexpectedly thrust into the presidency after an attack at the Capitol during a State
of the Union Address.
There have already been a number of death threats against the soon-to-be President Trump,
including a family friend of Hillary Clinton, who was arrested after he threatened to assassinate
Trump at his inauguration.
And, there have also been numerous reports of protests, unrest and property damage being
planned for Inauguration Day, which in and of itself could create enough mayhem to threaten
the president-elect and members of Congress in attendance.
[RELATED: Stay current with potential threats to the civil society at Bugout.news]
We already know that CNN has regularly committed journalistic fraud; has the network crossed
another line by drawing attention to this very dangerous scenario?
After all, what is even the point of speculating something like this?
For CNNs warped Left-wing ideologues, this is nothing more than wishful thinking disguised
as a news story.
Respondents on YouTube, which were very heavily thumbed down, blasted the network for what
could be taken as encouraging an attack on Trump.
Totally not suggesting anything her, huh CNN? one person commented, as Infowars
reported.
So leftist terrorists know who they need to take out, so that dems can stay in power?
This is irresponsible journalism, wrote another.
I flagged this video as dangerous to the president elect, and that it might foment
violence, another poster noted.
This is not unprecedented for CNN, by the way, which has demonstrated amazing bias against
Trump from the outset.
This is the same network of losers who gave Thomas DiMassio a platform after he rushed
a state to violently confront Trump during a campaign event in Ohio last year.
[RELATED: Keep current with the new administration at WhiteHouse.news]
DiMassios intent?
Use violence to send a message to all people out in the country who wouldnt consider
themselves racist, who wouldnt consider themselves approving of what type of violence
Donald Trump is allowing in his rallies.
Imagine if Fox News had run this kind of a story on the eve of President-elect Barack
Obamas first inauguration in 2008; the Left-wing establishment media would have exploded
with anger.
But thats the point: Its okay for the journo-terrorists on the Left to publish this
kind of garbage and pretend its news.
If youre not boycotting CNN, youre just encouraging more of this kind
of outrageous behavior.

Triathlon Training Motivation: When To Ditch Your Watch - Duration: 6:12.
Hey, what's up, triathletes?
Taren here.
If you've found that your triathlon motivation isn't quite what it used to be and other times
where you're super, duper jacked up to get out there and train, take a look at your wrist.
If you find that you're becoming a slave to your wristwatch, and the power numbers and
the metrics that you've devised for all your triathlon training, that might have something
to do with it.
Stick around because today I'm going to talk about how you can avoid being a slave to the
wristwatch, which you see I do not have.
A comment that I got recently on one of my videos is that somebody has been completely
burnt out from training by metrics for so long.
What I've personally seen is that there is a specific training group that I'm familiar
with that they go through every single triathlon workout as a pure slave to their data.
They are looking at their bike computers, and their wristwatch and their heart rate
monitors every single day.
They're taking blood readings and body chemistry composition readings all the time.
They're constantly analyzing that data, trying to become better athletes.
Now, that's cool.
If you're looking to become the absolute tippy top best performing athlete that you possibly
can, you need that type of specificity.
I would probably argue that most professional athletes often have that type of specificity,
but not all of us are professional triathletes whose job it is is to get in those absolute
specific workouts all the time, and they have to hit certain numbers because their plan
is so regimented throughout the year that they have no choice.
In our case, we're age groupers.
We should be having fun with triathlon.
In my opinion, the best approach to triathlon training is finding a system that makes you
faster in the long run because if you're giving up speed over the course of one year but burning
yourself out for the rest of your life because you really didn't enjoy that one year, you
aren't very fast for the rest of your life.
I found that a good way to balance triathlon data with the enjoyment of triathlon training
is a few ways.
Number one, work in times throughout the year that you leave the watch behind.
(Music).
Maybe it's a few months in the off season, maybe it's after a race and before your next
build up starts.
Make sure that there's some training that is unstructured.
Sure, maybe you keep the data going, so you get all those strava segments still in, but
don't even focus on what those numbers say.
Just train freely and train by feel.
This training by feel, by the way, will also make you more in tune with your body, so that
when you get to a race you're better in tune with your capabilities.
Second thing you should do is train with friends.
(Music).
If you're training with friends, and everyone has watches around them, you know what?
Odds are pretty good that people aren't even going to be looking at those watches very
often.
If you end up with a group of training partners who are all similar abilities and have similar
goals, that's enough to self-police.
If you're going on a similar training plan, you can go with the group and that takes your
mind off of the training data while still getting in a good workout because odds are
pretty good you're going to be competitive against each other.
Hey Triathlon Taren
You love triathlons, Mel.
I do love them.
She loves them.
The third way to avoid burning out by training with nothing but training data is to switch
up what training data you're training with.
In the middle of the off season or the beginning of the off season I tend to train more by
heart rate (music), making sure that I'm not hitting and going through a ceiling of heart
rate because I want to build fitness back up, and I want to rebuild my cardiovascular
system.
Later on as we start getting into the meat and potatoes of building strength for the
upcoming race season, we switch over to power.
(Music).
Then once the winter goes away, and we start getting out onto the track, then we start
going for time around the track.
We're always switching it up, and it's staying fresh.
We're not constantly looking at power is on one, power is on one, heart rate is on two,
blah, blah, blah, blah over and over and over.
That repetition is what I think makes training with power a little bit stale and can burn
you out.
The fourth thing that I would focus on is where you focus.
(Music).
Instead of focusing on what the power numbers say, I would focus on things like the small
wins.
I was talking with somebody at one point this past week who was saying it's reassuring to
know that improvement in triathlon doesn't have to come for the next race that is two
months from now and then have massive improvements two months after that.
It's a long, long process.
If you're consistently chipping away at becoming a little bit better, you're going to be very
fast in the long run when we're talking five, six, seven years down the road.
So that you don't have to wait to become fast five, six, seven years down the road, make
sure that you're focusing on the small wins day to day.
Maybe you feel a little bit easier with a certain perceived exertion or a certain metric
or maybe you can go a little big harder.
Focus on those little wins because those are what will make you faster in the race.
Instead of focusing just on the race or just on the numbers over and over, really enjoy
those little wins.
Be grateful for them.
(Music).
Then finally, the fifth thing that I will say about training with metrics is that if
you like them, keep them.
The biggest thing that I want to get across with this is that if you find that it is boring
to constantly be training off of data, and looking at metrics and not enjoying the process,
that's when you should back off.
You know what?
If you're a person that's really numbers driven, be numbers driven.
Keep looking at the training data.
Do whatever it is that makes you want to do triathlons for years to come because it's
a long game, and that's okay.
There you have it, triathletes.
I hope that this helps you pull you out of a slump, if you are in a training slump.
I've been there, I know what it's like.
It ain't fun.
Don't let yourself get there before it's too far gone.
As always, triathletes, happy and hard training and good luck in your next triathlon.

BRACKETOLOGY: Arizona sends shockwaves with big win over UCLA - Duration: 1:32.
Arizona's 96-85 win at UCLA last Saturday sent shockwaves across projected brackets.
While knocking the Bruins and their top-rated offense off the No. 1 seed line, it moved the Wildcats to the No. 2 line with plenty of room and time for Sean Miller's bunch to move up to the top seed line as well.
You know how much the selection committee values huge road wins.
What Miller has done with Wildcats while sophomore Allonzo Trier sat the first 19 games due to taking a banned substance is amazing and could be setting them up for the coach's first trip to the Final Four. With Christ the King HS product Rawle Alkins contributing in a big way (11.9 ppg, 5.6 rpg), watch out for Arizona, which faces its biggest challenge on Feb. 4 at Oregon, which appears to breathing easier after prognosis of Dillon Brooks' sprained left foot isn't as bad as initially feared.
— Speaking of injured feet, Amile Jefferson's return is a boost for Duke in the deep ACC.
— One injury that could affect our bracketology each week could be the season-ending knee injury to Creighton point guard Mo Watson. The Blue Jays' entertaining offense look a little out of sorts in a loss to Marquette over the weekend.
— The Big 12/SEC challenge this upcoming Saturday provides us with the stellar matchup of potential 1-seeds and national title contenders Kansas and Kentucky (5 p.m., ESPN). Keep an eye on how Wildcats freshman point guard De'Aaron Fox rebounds from his ankle sprain.

REAL WAYS to Make Money from Home | Stay at Home Mom - Duration: 6:49.
hi guys today I wanted to share my
favorite ways to make money as a
stay-at-home mom if you are new to my
channel my name is Taylor and this is my
blissful home and this video is part of
a series i'm doing called money monday
is where i talk about personal finance
budgeting money saving tips and things
like that
be sure to hit that big red subscribe
button so you don't miss any videos for
me and click that little bell icon that
you are notified when I post videos
straight to your phone so my first
favorite way to make money as a
stay-at-home mom is to sell things on
ebay i sell used items on ebay and that
has worked out really really well for me
I started with spelling things that i do
not want how my help anymore like old
clothing electronics and things like
that and what additional we made me want
to sell things on ebay with the fact
that I had a water damaged macbook pro
so I had no idea what to do with I
didn't want to throw it away just
because it was so much money to buy that
so I know if there was another option
other than just using ahead a
paperweight or having a fit in a box in
a closet so i went ahead and i looked at
ebay sold listings and it turns out that
there had been several laptops that were
water damage previously sold so i knew
that i could sell my laptop so i went
ahead and made an ebay account and I
listed just my laptop can be sold and
within 24 hours like an offer from
somebody who wanted to buy my laptop i
sold that water damaged laptop over 250
dollars that was way who were the time
and effort it took to create media
accounts and learn how to posting first
sale so that was super super awesome so
far and only sold things that i have
around my health I don't want anymore
instead of giving them to Goodwill where
that is being that we just a for-profit
business that takes your stuff installed
it on their own for profit so I figured
I might as well get them the money out
of this my family could totally use that
so i created my own loading bay business
and about three months I made a little
over a thousand dollars so i think it
can definitely be very very successful
for anybody who wishes to do this it's
just one of those types of things that
you get what you put into it so if you
can only put in one
a few hours a week when you have a
chance probably not going to make that
much but if you're able to put in more
hours and that like if your kids are in
school here to tomah whole day I mean
you can put three four five hours a day
into your eBay business you can really
make a lot of money people felt things
for a lot of money and I know that what
most people do is they will go to three
stores garage sales and things like that
and they will purchase use items and
resell those items on ebay and they have
huge inventories and they make full time
income from this so this is definitely a
very good option for making money as a
stay-at-home mom that anybody can do my
second favorite way to make money as a
stay-at-home mom is to watch other
people's kids in most states including
california where i live you do not have
to register yourself as a day care if
you only watch children that come from
one family if you just watch two or
three kids or even has one child from a
single family
you don't have to be a daycare look at
his life and so that's gonna be a great
option and you can do this part-time
where you just watch kids once a week or
when their parents need them or you can
do a full time daycare type of situation
where you watch children while their
parents are at work and if you're
already saving mom and already at home
there's no reason why most of us
couldn't do this
yes it will be a little extra work but
there's no way to really make money
without doing extra work and it's
awesome because you're you can stay home
with your own kids while making money so
i think that watching other people's
children is an awesome way to make money
to help your rates are so expensive that
you could charge quite a bit of money i
have a few friends who pay over twelve
hundred dollars a month for their babies
to be in be careful time if you're
watching a few kids that could really be
worth your time and effort to have extra
toes around your house all day my third
and final way to make money as a
stay-at-home mom is probably my favorite
because it requires quite a way work in
the beginning but then you can pay the
creator's coast while you're making
money and that is to buy things in bulk
from alibaba or aliexpress brand then
and then sell them through amazon if you
have not heard of these two websites al
baba and aliexpress they have a ton of
manufacturers and companies that make
products that are selling in bulk at
wholesale to retailers and two
individuals so you can go on there and
find anything basically that you would
like to resell they do clothing jewelry
I I think maybe like phone chargers like
USB cable things like that they do a ton
of different things like really the
sky's limit with that and you can pay a
little bit of extra money to have your
own brand which is what i really
recommend because things that are
branded even if it's an unrecognizable
brand always are worth more money than a
generic or unbranded item so a lot of
these companies will offer the option to
brand the item for just one or two
percent more and then we'll be paying
for them in the first place and i will
really allow you to increase your
margins if you were to sell them that
way but i also recommend is to find one
item that you would like to sell to
begin with and request samples from the
companies that you find that sell them
and get quotes and test the products
because you want to make sure that
you're selling a quality product you
don't want to rip anyone off you want to
be selling would admit I de so you pick
a product you pick a manufacturer you
have them ship NT which can be about a
month long process because they are
coming from overseas mostly china and
india so once you receive the items you
package them the way you see fit and
then you can have amazon fulfillment
take care of the rest
so you need to sign up for an account as
an amazon seller and basically you send
them all to amazon they store them in
their own warehouse and they pack and
ship them as order come in so if soon as
those products leave your hands you
essentially have no work to do with and
you just receive the money as they are
sold on amazon so those are my three
favorite ways to make money as a
stay-at-home mom I hope you guys enjoyed

could use yourself to make money while

President Obama Says He Will Speak Out If Trump Steps Out Of Line - Duration: 3:23.
President Obama Says He Will Speak Out If Trump Steps Out Of Line.
by Charles Campbell.
President Obama made a subtle threat directed at his successor Wednesday while conducting
his final press conference, warning he would speak out if things started to go south with
the new administration.
But President-elect Donald Trump would have to engage in systemic discrimination,
attempt to silence dissent or roll back voting rights in order to draw him
out of retirement, the president said.
Obama explained that similar issues are where Americas core values are.
Theres a difference between that normal functioning of politics and certain issues
or certain moments where I think our core values may be at stake, Obama said. I
put in that category if I saw systematic discrimination being ratified in some fashion. I put in that
category explicit or functional obstacles to people being able to vote, to exercise
their franchise. I put in that category institutional efforts to silence dissent or the press. And
for me at least, I would put in that category efforts to round up kids who have grown up
here and for all practical purposes are American kids and send them somewhere else, when they
love this country.
Referring to Dreamers undocumented immigrants who came to the country as minors
Obama added, The notion that we would just arbitrarily, or because of politics,
punish those kids, when they didnt do anything wrong themselves, I think would be something
that would merit me speaking out. It doesnt mean that I would get on the ballot anywhere.
Obama has issued an executive order to protect Dreamers from deportation, but there are some
who believe Trump may overturn that order.
Attempting to quell doubt, the president thought America was going to be alright despite fears
Trump will become some kind of authoritarian ruler.
At my core, I think were going to be OK, Obama said. We just have to fight
for it, work for it, and not take it for granted.
I know that you will help us do that, he told reporters assembled in the White House
briefing room.
Obama thanked various members of the media and took an opportunity to condemn Trumps
war against certain news outlets. He insisted that reporters are an invaluable asset to
a functioning democracy.
We are accountable to the people who send us here. And you have done it, the president
said. Youre not supposed to be sycophants. Youre supposed to be skeptics.
In regards to parting advice, Obamas best wisdom was for Trump to try and rely on the
strengths of those around him.
This is a job of such magnitude that you cant do it by yourself, he said
When reporters asked about the Democrats who were boycotting the inauguration, Obama replied,
All I know is Im going to be there, and so is Michelle.
