When you think of animated films, Disney is the first company to come to mind because
their films have shaped our childhood.
Despite their longevity they sometimes don't get scenes right the first time around and
that's why there are alternate versions of scenes or even deleted scenes.
Recording segments and storyboarding a scene only to decide to cut it from the film is
not uncommon.
Let's take a look at some of your favorite Disney films and the process behind these
changes.

Beauty and the Beast
Disney's 1991 film, Beauty and the Beast was the first animated film to be in the category
of Best Picture at the Oscars.
The film ultimately lost the award to Jonathan Demme's The Silence of the Lambs but it
did win Oscars for Original Score and Original Song.
Maybe they wouldn't have been as fortunate if they kept the 11-minute version of the
song Human Again in there.
They ultimately cut the song to help move the story but later released a shorter version
of the song on DVD in 2002.
So if you want a little more enchantment in your life check it out.
Tangled
A storybook opening with the reveal of a story is nothing short of clichéd and was even
mocked in the 2001 film Shrek.
When the filmmakers behind Tangled were working on an opening sequence of their 2010 film
they did just that.
But remember filmmaking is a process and with each step the film hopefully gets better.
In this deleted sequence the filmmakers did pull ideas to use in final opening out of
the film including the teardrop from the sun.
So it was worth the extra steps.
Toy Story
Lee Unkrich moved from editor of Toy Story to director of Toy Story 3 because of his
keen eye to story telling.
One example of this came from his choice to delete a scene of Sid torturing Buzz and Woody
at his home in the original film.
He felt the audience would be too fond of the main characters and wouldn't want to
see them tortured, so he cut the torture and went straight to the interrogation.
Smart move Unkrich, you made many of us cry in Toy Story 3 when we thought our beloved
characters were doomed.
Moana
Disney's 2016 animated film Moana splashed into theaters and the hearts of theatergoers.
Some fans of the film would be surprised to learn that there was another song that was
cut from the film.
The songs name was Warrior and Moana and Maui actually did a duet together.
It was a way for the filmmakers to show the two characters bonding but despite enjoying
the song they ultimately had to cut it out of the film.
The Little Mermaid
The two most important scenes of a movie are the first ten minutes and the last ten minutes.
The first ten you need to grab the audience's attention and the last ten you need them to
leave talking about the film.
In the final scene of The Little Mermaid the filmmakers did just that but originally they
had some issues.
In an alternate version the film, the character of Ursula wasn't as scary during the ending.
She was much closer to their heroine's scale, which made her not as frightening.
Sleeping Beauty
In the film Sleeping Beauty, Princess Aurora was cursed by Maleficent and her family were
told that before the sun sets on Aurora's sixteenth birthday, she shall prick her finger
on the spindle of a spinning wheel and die.
In the film you hear a spooky vocal note calling her to a spindle of a spinning wheel.
But it really wasn't a musical note.
The films audio track was recorded on magnetic tape and because of the poor quality you heard
that note instead of the word, which was actually calling the name, "Aurora".
Lilo & Stitch
Stitch is a mischievous character but he is in no way is he evil but originally the animators
wanted him to be.
In a deleted scene Lilo shows Stitch her other best friend Pudge the Fish and gives him a
kiss.
Instead of Stitch giving him a kiss too he throws Pudge on the ground and before Lilo
can save him birds come and attack her.
The fish dies as Stitch watches laughing.
We know Stitch isn't the sweetest guy in the world but he's not a killer.
Maybe the animators were having a bad day when they wrote that scene.
The Emperor's New Groove
Like many other cut scenes from this list, in The Emperor's New Groove featured another
scene was a little too violent.
Warriors gathered together to practice the destruction of Pacha's Village.
This dark and irrelevant scene was animated but then later cut out due to being unnecessary.
Luckily the sarcastic Emperor Kuzco learned his evil ways and became a better ruler before
they had a chance to execute his plans.
Robin Hood
There have been many versions of Robin Hood made and it seems like a few different endings
for Disney's 1973 animated film too.
At the end of the film when a fire engulfs Robin Hood he is hurt by an arrow and Little
John carries him away.
As Prince John follows blood droppings into a church he finds Maid Marion tending to Robin's
wounds.
He offers to take away Robin's pain as he reveals a dagger and she bravely tells him
not to come closer.
Then King Richard arrives and ends Prince John tyranny.
We kinda like this ending more, what about you?
Frozen
It's hard to imagine Elsa being anything but the lovable character she is on screen
but that is not the case.
Originally she was meant to be the villain but someone at Disney wised up and saw the
potential of a story between sisters.
In a deleted scene she uses her powers to lift and torture two guards for information
showing a very evil side.
Do you prefer good Elsa or evil Elsa?
We think Disney preferred good Else due to the box office success of Frozen.

Paul Ryan & Mitch McConnell – Spineless GOP Leaders Afraid Of Trump - Duration: 3:31.
It took Donald Trump eight days to get to a net negative favorability where more than
50% of the country disapproves of the job he's doing, eight days.
The reason that is so important is because of all the presidents prior to him, starting
with President Reagan, it took them no fewer than 450 days at least to hit a approval rating
below 50%.
The reason I bring that up is this, where the hell is the Republican leadership right
now?
Yes, we have John McCain out there in the media telling us that Trump is screwing up
left and right.
How does Donald Trump respond to that?
He goes on Twitter and he attacks John McCain.
Where is Paul Ryan?
Where is Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell?
Where are those two men, number two and number three most powerful Republicans in the country?
Why are they not standing up to Donald Trump?
The reason is simple obviously.
They're afraid of him.
They don't have the courage to do it.
They don't want to go against their own party.
Well, keep in mind, Donald Trump for most of his life called himself a Democrat, only
became a Republican so that he could run for president.
But these Republicans, Paul Ryan, Mitch McConnell, are so spineless and so brain dead that they
won't even stand up to this man because they think that in spite of all the bad things
he's doing they might get one or two little gifts out of it, like a full repeal of Obamacare
that's going to kill 48,000 people a year.
That's what they want.
That's why they're not standing up to him.
But more importantly, they're afraid.
Republicans put two men in charge of their party in the House and the Senate that are
terrified of going against Donald Trump.
They're terrified of standing up to anyone.
They're terrified of being confronted.
Paul Ryan for the last four days has done nothing but tweet out bull shit nonsense about
repealing Obamacare and we're going to get to work and we're going to work with the president,
just catchy little things.
We're going to create a patient-centered program, which literally means nothing.
Those are just words he's strung together and Republicans eat them up, but that's all
they're focused on.
They're not out there talking about, you know what, maybe the president shouldn't have done
this.
Maybe he shouldn't have done that.
Wow, look at the tens of thousands, hundreds of thousands, millions of people that have
gathered in the last eight days to protest him.
Maybe, just maybe, we should grow some balls and say something about that.
But no, not for Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell.
They don't have it in them to stand up to somebody, to stand up to a man who is oppressing
huge populations, not just in the United States, but around the globe.
These men are not fit to lead.
They're not fit to be in charge of the House or the Senate.
As much as we need Donald Trump to go, it's also time for Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell
to hit the road because they don't have the guts to stand up to this bully.

ultimate wish: to go to the planet's surface.
While the anime may seem like pure action, the friendship between the two characters
is one of the strongest in animation history.
Rurouni Kenshin The heir to a powerful style of swordsmanship,
and the greatest warrior Japan has ever known, suddenly disappears after the last battle
of the Meiji Revolution.
The story follows Kenshin Himura, a man who wishes to atone for the crimes he committed
during the war, but finds himself dragged back into the fight time and time again.
Rurouni Kenshin is one of the most beloved anime of all time, and with a total of 96
episodes and three OVAs, will keep you watching for a long time.
Fate/stay Night When a young student unwittingly witnesses
two people battling as part of an ancient, invisible war, he finds himself an unwilling
participant in a fight he isn't prepared for.
Shiro Emiya is a student at the Homurahara school, but is almost killed when he witnesses
a fight he was never meant to see.
Shiro accidentally summons a woman known as Saber, and accidentally becomes a part of
the war himself.
Unlike a lot of anime, Fate/stay Night is designed around a specific theme.
There are two sequels that each explore different themes, as the anime seeks to teach a lesson
through telling a story.
Mushi-shi Mushi-shi is rare among a lot of anime because
it's episodic, rather than an overarching story.
Ginko, the main character, is one of a select few individuals able to see the Mushi, a primitive
lifeform that create problems for normal humans.
In a way, the Mushi are the main characters, as the story often revolves around their effects
on the world around them, even though the majority of humans are unaware of their existence
and incapable of interacting with them.
Sword Art Online Anime doesn't get much better than Sword Art
Online.
SAO, as it's called by fans, tells the story of Kirito and Asuna, two players of a full-dive
MMORPG, when they are trapped in the world and unable to logout.
Death in the game means death in real life.
As time passes, the real world becomes little more than a distant memory, and the idea of
what is real and what isn't is explored in depth.
In a day and age when virtual reality is becoming ever-present, SAO makes you wonder what the
possibilities of its use are.
Soul Eater The story of soul eater is simple: students
study to master weapons capable of defeating evil spirits at a school run by the Grim Reaper.
Like many anime, Soul Eater borrows heavily from both eastern and western mythologies.
With a full cast of outrageous characters and a main character that transforms into
a giant scythe, Soul Eater is the perfect anime for someone who wants something that
doesn't take itself too seriously.
Attack on Titan If you're looking for a lighthearted anime,
Attack on Titan is not the right choice.
Attack on Titan tells the story of the remnants of humanity, people who live behind high walls
and train with specializes armor that allow them to take down the Titans, a group of beings
as tall as skyscrapers that feed on humans.
The anime is dark and heavy, and you can feel the desperation of the characters as they
struggle to survive.
It paints the brutality of war in a light few anime ever manage to do.

Hey girls, it's Monday!
So, it's been awhile, hasn't it?
Oh, come one, it hasn't been that long since we uploaded here.
It's only been like…three years.
And it's been a pretty eventful few years for the fiveawesomegirls.
I started working at Microsoft, started doing cosplay and got engaged.
I had a baby!
His name's Rory, he's really cute, he's a year old.
I took a break from school and worked at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California for
two and a half years and now I'm back in London to complete my degree in media and
public relations.
So I guess you can say we've been pretty busy.
But this January marks the ninth anniversary of fiveawesomegirls!
In honour of their tenth anniversary, John and Hank Green are hosting the very first
NerdCon: Nerdfighteria!
Nerdcon is taking place in Boston, MA on February 25th and 26th.
Only a month away!
And we'll be there!
On Sunday the 26th at 10am, we're hosting a reunion panel.
So bring your coffee and come hang out with us!
Unfortunately, we'll only be fourawesomegirls at NerdCon, because Liane isn't able to
attend.
But we'll miss you, Liane!
And we have one other little surprise for you guys.
We came together to brainstorm ideas for a set of enamel pins that embody what fiveawesomegirls

Boeing unveiled the new spacesuit astronauts will wear while flying missions aboard the
company's CST-100 Starliner.
The spacesuit is more flexible and comfortable than earlier versions such as the orange
launch-and-entry suit space shuttle astronauts wore.
Astronauts will wear the new suit during launch and through the flight to the
International Space Station.
After completing their station mission,
astronauts will don the suit again for the return to Earth.
Testing was completed on the Core Stage Forward Skirt Umbilical for NASA's Space
Launch System rocket.
The umbilical that will provide connections from the mobile launcher to the core stage
forward skirt of the SLS rocket, underwent four months of testing at the Launch
Equipment Test Facility in order to confirm its load limits, ability to disconnect before
liftoff, and overall function.
This achievement marks the halfway point for further umbilical checkouts.
NASA's Space Launch System rocket will launch with Orion atop on the first uncrewed
flight test from Launch Pad 39B.

The perps broke the handles off.
They used a hatchet, an ax, an electric chain saw.
They used a crow bar, they used a sleever bar; they used everything they could think

- Hip hop is a lifestyle.
It's the way you live, it's the way you eat,
it's the way you listen to music, it's the way you talk
to your peers, your parents, your family.
It's a positive energy and that everything that we do
is for the good and the social gathering.
- [Cheng] We are the Hmong Breakers Leadership Council,
we are also known as HBLC.
HBLC's mission is to bridge the Hmong community
with different modern and traditional talents
by initiating opportunities with hip hop
and the arts as a platform.
So we are a coalition of different artists
of different genres founded by breakers and with our work,
we hope to build a community that's
multi-generational and multi-diverse.
- [James] We reach out to other communities
by hosting events, during those times when we host these
we invite as many people, as many dancers, to our events
and usually during those times we get
a variety of different people.
- [DJ] Thanks you guys, welcome to Little Mekong night
market, I got HBLC who's not only an organizing group,
HBLC's made up of beat boys, beat girls, pounclers,
and they're gonna break it down for you guys,
a little showcase.
- [Cheng] Little Mekong night market is a event done back
in Southern Asia where it's too hot to be selling food
and to be gathering people so they do it at nighttime.
We want to recreate it in to St. Paul
and the Minnesota community and we have all sorts
of hip hop elements into this one event.
- [DJ] B Boy Teknika
- [Robert] We're exposing hip hop to the community,
we're bringing it to them, they're coming out
for their own reasons, such as night market,
but why not expose you to hip hop
and you know all that we have to offer.
- We bring a different atmosphere that maybe the
Little Menkong wouldn't have had if we wasn't there.
It was just something that was different, something new,
something that we created, something original.
- [Judge] I am looking for execution,
complete battle mentality,
that means you're facing your opponent
but you're also making sure we can see your moves,
musicality, musicality is how well you are interpreting
the music, you don't even have to know it,
but you just gotta be on beat.
- [Robert] A battle is a street fight without the fighting
- A battle is definitely a competition,
who does the best of this, who does the best of that,
strength, speed, cleanliness, originality,
- [Robert] And that involves bringing a lot of different
aspects from all other, like your life into it
- And then the person that comes out on top,
that the judges like better or the crowd likes better
tends to win the battle.
- [Cheng] The Hmong community, our elders, all they want is
their kids to be doctors and lawyers, to be,
to get that professional life and income,
but they don't know about the possible success of dance
and especially what we're doing, breaking and hip hop.
And so, myself, I went to school for dance
and so I have a degree in dance.
- [Robert] All the individuals in the group bring their own
backgrounds, like Cheng's a professional dancer,
James is a professional lifter, and I'm just a big advocate
for the youth and so we're all bringing different views
and goals and collectively pulling it together to create
these awesome events that will bring the community together
and also help us in our own individual fields
- [Cheng] Breaking has so many moves that aren't even
in a category or doesn't have a name for it.
But the basics, there's six categories, there's top rocks,
wop rocks, get down, foot work, freezes,
hard moves and then there's get ups.
- [James] The Hmong community we also have like
traditional dances and other stuff that we do.
You think about dancing or in a battle and, you know,
you're always starting with up rocks and stuff but you know,
Hmong people we have like dance moves where like our hands
fold and stuff, you know, so when when you come out
with that people are just like, whoa, what is that, you know
so I definitely like the fact that when we express
what we have, you know, that only our culture has,
and we show it off on the dance floor,
people are like, who are you, where did you come from,
where did that dance style come from,
and I can just be like I'm Hmong and this is what we do.
- In this community we're all actual dancers
with our own experiences and were putting it all together
to create these opportunities for other dancers to network,
join and meet us as well.
- [Cheng] From our meeting with Red Wok
they have another room open for us
and they want us to help find a way to promote
Red Wok more by us gathering activities or open sessions
so then they can gather more so we can gather people there
which will gather more customers actually they want us
to use our first kickoff as an event.
We as a council, we meet weekly at
the Center for Hmong Studies at Concordia University
- A typical council meeting, we usually review
what was last said and just looking at new opportunities
that were presented to us.
- If we're trying to I guess bring as much traffic
as we can for Red Wok I think the idea would be
maybe have a little bit of everything.
- I do really like our meetings because again we joke around
we do a lot of stuff but at the end of the day
everybody loves dance, everybody loves something
about why were doing what we do.
- Any questions or concerns or are we done?
- We're good? - Yeah, good.

- [Cheng] The Hmong community has such a sudden
spurse of population into the US
and especially in St. Paul and California
that a majority of us youth found a connection with hip hop
'cause its really the same thing, we live in the poverty
and we try to find a way out by speaking
and telling the world who we are.

- [James] With Hmong people, I feel like we might live
in poverty in terms of like financial
but I feel like the Hmong people we have other things
that we're really rich at and within that
richness is where we gather, and hip hop is kind of like
the platform that kind of brings those richness together.

Wall Street falls the most since Oct as Trump honeymoon sours
The S&P 500 and the Dow were set to post their largest drop in more than three months on
Monday as investors worried that a curb on immigration ordered by Donald Trump was a
reminder that some of the U.S. president's policies are not market-friendly.
An executive order issued by Trump on Friday banned immigration from seven Muslim-majority
countries, including legal residents and visa holders, and temporarily halted the entry
of refugees.
Over the weekend, thousands of people rallied in major U.S. cities and at airports in protest.
U.S. equities had hit a series of record highs following Trump's election in November, encouraged
by his promise of tax cuts and simpler regulations.
However, the potential risk from some of Trump's policies have dampened enthusiasm.
"Investors focused on the pro-growth of (Trump's) proposals and not those detrimental to economic
activity, like protectionism," said Peter Cardillo, chief market economist at First
Standard Financial in New York.
He said investors wore blinders to only see the market-friendly policies Trump spoke about
during the campaign and the immigration ban was a reminder of actions he could take that
could undermine the economy.
Technology, a sector which has openly opposed bans on immigration and hurdles to hiring
foreign talent, weighed the most on the S&P 500.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average .DJI fell 176.47 points, or 0.88 percent, to 19,917.31,
the S&P 500 .SPX lost 20.22 points, or 0.88 percent, to 2,274.47 and the Nasdaq Composite
.IXIC dropped 57.99 points, or 1.02 percent, to 5,602.79.
The Dow, which rose nearly 10 percent in the month after Trump's election, has gained 1
percent after his Jan. 20 inauguration.
Trump also signed an executive order that would seek to pare back federal regulations
by requiring agencies to cut two existing regulations for every new rule introduced.
However, the Russel 2000 index of small and mid-cap companies fell 1.3 percent, giving
back all the month's gains.
The CBOE Volatility index .VIX or Wall Street's "fear gauge" rose 1.55 points, the most for
any day since early November.
Airline stocks fell, with American Airlines (AAL.O) down 4.9 percent and United Continental
(UAL.N) down 3.8 percent.
At least one analyst cited worries over the travel ban to the United States.
"The concern is that (Trump's) travel ban starts to encompass more countries or that
there are more stringent restrictions on travel to the U.S.," or other countries retaliate,
said Stifel analyst Joseph DeNardi.
Delta (DAL.N), which suffered a systems outage that grounded almost 300 flights between Sunday
and Monday, fell 4.1 percent.
Also on investor's crosshairs: a Federal Reserve's policy meeting that begins Tuesday, corporate
earnings from key companies such as Apple (AAPL.O) and Facebook (FB.O) and a raft of
economic data including Friday's crucial jobs report.
The S&P 500 posted 4 new 52-week highs and 5 new lows; the Nasdaq Composite recorded
46 new highs and 38 new lows.

Um, I guess I'll get started.
This is gonna be really weird for me because this is a totally different format than I'm
used to, and I'm also really bad at talking about this kind of thing, even with people
that I'm really close to, so no promises on this video staying up forever.
I guess we'll see- we'll see how it goes.

I feel tired, but that's not unique.
That is every single college student in existence.
And a lot more than that.
Um, lately I have been feeling kind of frustrated with a lot of people.
But I think that is another thing that a lot of people are feeling.
Um, today I feel nostalgic and thoughtful.
Where, if I were one to journal then I would probably be writing in my journal today.
But I don't, so I guess this is the next best thing.
Um, I don't know.
I don't have a lot to say about "I feel," I guess.
Yeah.
So then I guess I want.
Right now I want junk food.
I've been trying to be healthier the past couple weeks, like eating healthier and exercising
and all that kinda thing.
But, man, when you're trying to eat healthy junk food sounds so much more appealing, so
I really want junk food right now.
It's not fair.
Um, okay this is a super nerdy thing to want, but they released an update for the new Pokémon
games, Sun and Moon, recently, that allows you to transfer over Pokémon from older games
so I've done that, but now I don't have enough space in my version of Pokémon Sun, so I
want an update that gives me more space.
Um, I know, stupid and nerdy but it is what it is.
Um, I want...
I want myself to be...
I guess more satisfied or accepting of myself being single.
Um, like, I'm not dating right now and I'm not looking to date right now, and every so
often I'll think to myself, "Hm, maybe you should start trying to date again."
But I feel like I'm doing that out of habit rather than an actual, like, desire to.
So I just want myself to be okay with not trying to date right now.
And I mostly am, it's just every so often I think, "Well, maybe not," but- I don't know.
I don't know.
That's one thing if you know me well, I say "I don't know" a lot.
Um, okay, so then I fear...
Starting easy on this one, I fear heights, sort of.
Like, I fear unstable heights.
So like, on the top of the Empire State Building looking down onto all of Manhattan, that is
not a problem for me at all.
But like, on the top of, you know, like a 15 foot tall ladder, I'm very nervous.
I can do it, I'm just- I don't like it because I feel so unstable.
Um, I'm also finding the more I go along, the more I'm freaked out by like, giant spiders.
And I don't mean even like, you know, Australian Bird-Eating Spiders that are, like, this big
or whatever.
Um, I mean like in movies like Lord of the Rings or Harry Potter where there's, like,
giant man-eating spiders, those freak me out so bad and I don't know why or where that
came from, cuz it's a relatively recent thing, but...
Giant spiders.
Um, I fear...
I fear forgetting, I think.
Where, I know I said that I don't journal and I probably should, but like, there are
things from my life that I never want to forget, um, feelings and experiences, so like maybe
I should write them down, but they're the kind of thing that I feel like if I write
them down or share them with someone, then it's not mine anymore.
And I'm selfish and I want to keep those things with just myself, but I'm afraid of forgetting
them at some point.
So, I'll have to work on that I guess.
Um...
I know that "I fear" is usually, like, the deepest or most personal one for people but-
I don't know.

Um, like I said, this is just kind of a struggle for me to do in general so, sorry that you're
not maybe getting a ton from me.
Um, yeah I guess to move on, I am.
Um, I am a mess.
Perpetually.
I am... kind of directionless at the moment.
Like I have some thoughts of where I want to go and what I want to do, but nothing set
in stone right now.
Maybe that's something that goes with "I fear."
I fear never figuring it out.
And I know everyone does and all that stuff, but, like, I don't know.
It's- It is worrisome.
I've changed majors, like, three times which- I'm glad to be in the major that I am now,
but it is stressful for me to have known exactly what I want to do- Like, all growing up my
life was already planned out for me, um, and then, like, hitting college and suddenly going,
"Nope!
That and that and that and that and that that I expected to do are not a part of how I see
my life going anymore."
And not having something to replace them with.
So, I am directionless I guess.
Um, I am...
I'm probably not as good of a friend as I could or shou- Could or should be, um, I don't
keep in touch with people as well as I should, because it's so much easier for me to just
kinda do my own thing and then when I see them I- we can catch up or whatever, but I
don't go out of my way to try and talk to them or see them.
And I should.
In one of my classes yesterday?
Yeah yesterday, uh, we talked about how "should" is such a weird thing to say because it totally
removes responsibility from the statement.
"I should do this, but I'm not gonna hold myself accountable."
That kinda thing.
So- Get from that what you will.

I don't know.
