Youtube daily report Jan 23 2017

It's been several months since our grand adventure.

And now, a new story begins.

I'll show you a defense attorney's resolve!

Those precious days... if only I could see them again!

The solution is: "a great detective!"

I've put the kettle on - help yourselves to the cookies!

The first thing we must consider is this shining star.

I'm sure it represents my bright future.

It's a traditional part of the logo.

Now, this appears to be letters of some sort.

Somehow, it gives a sense of "resolve".

That would be because it says "resolve".

And look at these Oriental symbols!

It's all Greek to me, but I'm sure it's something important.

That's the title!

Finally, this heroic-feeling band.

It must be a snake.

It's the number 2... surely you can see that much?

In other words! This heralds the beginning of our new adventures!

...That's what we said at the beginning.

Dai Gyakuten Saiban 2: The Resolve of Naruhodou Ryuunosuke!

Now in full development!

It seems that "in development" is simply a way of saying "we have little to show right now".

I don't think we're allowed to say that...

The 10 Most Tunable Japanese Engines - Duration: 8:16.

Τhe TOP 10 Best Japanese Engines to Tune.

Before watching this video, I'd absolutely love it if you clicked the bell icon nearby the subscribe button to get notified of new uploads.

Number 10 : Honda K20

The 2 litre K20 engine, found in the EP3, FN2 and DC5 Type Rs is considered one of the best production Honda engines.

Despite being an engine which already is in such a high state of tune from factory, a lot more power can be had even without resorting to turbos or superchargers.

With the 2.4L K24 bottom-end bolted on or using a 2.6L stroker kit, you can get 300hp with great torque and linear power delivery.

The standard internals are definitely not weak, as people have managed to extract upwards of 500hp out of stock K20s with turbo convesions, while when fully built with uprated internals double that can be easily had.

The i-VTEC head also ensures fantastic drivability in comparison to engines of similar states of tune and capacity.

Number 9 : Subaru EJ-Series

Already 20 years old, the Subaru EJ-Series Turbo motors with their unique exhaust note and unusual boxer layout have been hugely popular and seem to be getting increasingly powerful.

Capacities range from 2 litres to 2.5 litres in standard form but a stroker kit can take it up to 2.7 litres.

Regardless of the capacity, big power is easily possible.

While having a flat layout, access to certain parts of the engine like the exhaust manifold can be proven tricky and costly on these engines, subaru specialists offer bolt-on hybrid turbos capable of more than 500 horsepower, a figure people have pushed the standard internals lots of the time to as well.

800 horsepower can be extracted from a fully built track car reliably, while 1400+ horsepower has been achieved in drag racing use as well.

Number 8 : Mitsubishi 4G63

Found in every Mitsubishi Lancer Evo apart from the tenth, this 2 litre lump is definitely one of the most tunable 4-bangers ever made.

Its components conform with Group N and A rally rules, meaning it's hugely strong and easily tunable while still using lots of OEM stuff.

A massive front mount intercooler up front from factory, and an equally big turbo mean well over 400hp on the stock setup.

Of course, while 400hp is a truly impressive figure from a stock engine, there's a dazzling amount of turbo, stroker, twincharger kits or even dry sump conversions, allowing double that easily and an impressive 2000hp out of drag fuelled monster 4G63 units.

Number 7 : Toyota 1UZ-FE

This motor started its life as a $30 million dollar developlment plan for a Le Mans and Japanese GT Racing engine.

However due to a change of rules in the classes it was planned to run in, it was heavily de-tuned and fitted to various luxury Toyota and Lexus vehicles of the time.

It's incredibly light for being a V8 and given ITBs and tubular exhaust manifolds, upwards of 400hp on standard internals has been achieved while revving to a staggering 8000rpm.

Figures of 500hp have been achieved as well on 24-hour endurance race spec, while 600hp plus in turbo form on stock internals is considered quite safe. Fully built engines can definitely surpass double that.

Number 6 : Mazda Rotary Engines

The Rotary is an unusual engine, being unbeatable when tuned correctly. Proof of that definitely is the fact they were banned from Le Mans just by plainly being too good. Huge punch out of such small engines, as a quad rotor which isn't any longer than a typical Straight-6 delivers the grunt of a big V8.

Small, light, powerful and revving to the moon and back rapidly are definitely characteristics of these engines.

At least 150hp can be achieved per litre in N/A form, over 350hp per litre with forced induction and over 500hp on a full-blown race engine. Due to the design of the rotary, a 1.3L twin-rotor unit can spool turbos as easily as a 2JZ while three or four rotor engines completely annihilate V8s.

Number 5 : Nissan SR20DET

While definitely not the most powerful engines of the bunch, what's astonishing is the bang for the buck they give, having a huge load of parts available.

Bolt-ons can take them to around 260hp, while 400hp is easily achievable and safe on stock internals with a bigger turbo.

Power figures of over 700 horsepower have been achieved in combination with the extremely high flowing VVL head of the SR16VE and SR20VE lumps and some examples have even reached the 1000hp mark.

Number 4 : Nissan VR38DETT

Fitted in the R35 generation Nissan GT-R, it's considered a tuner's dream.

The VR38 starts at over 500hp in stock form

There are stroker kits that bring the engine up to 4.6 litres and upwards of 1500hp has already been achieved, with plenty more coming undoubtedly.

Number 3 : Honda B-Series

Already over 25 years old, the little B series units are absolutely incredible. Despite only ranging from 170 to 200hp in standard form, a bolt-on turbo kit brings you to upwards of 500hp.

That's an insane number out of an engine as small as 1.8L while on stock internals.

Drag racing examples obviously push out way more than double that, obliterating many bigger engines.

Number 2 : Nissan RB Series

The three main party pieces of the RB family are the RB20DET and its 2.5L and 2.6L brothers. The RB20 can achieve 450hp on standard internals while revving up to 8000rpm safely, achieving well over that fully built.

The 2.5L RB25 on the other hand is a greater bang for your buck, achieving up to 300hp just with simple mods or up to 500hp with a turbo upgrade still on the stock bottom end.

When hitting for the 1000hp milestone, tuners usually choose the RB26 as it's an engine that was actually born as a racing engine, originating from the Group A Touring car championship.

Due to this, people have reported upwards of 1000hp on stock internals, while people have been stroking these motors up or using the rb30 block to achieve numbers as impressive as 1800hp!

Number 1 : Toyota 1JZ/2JZ

While definitely not a power-lacking motor at all producing well over 300hp in stock form, ditching the stock turbos and going for a big single one means upwards of 1000hp out of a 3.0 on its completely stock bottom end.

More realistically, 700hp can be easily achieved on a standard healthy 2JZ maintaining fast spool up characteristics and reliability.

The 1JZ on the other hand can be credited for being a great bang-for-buck motor, being the choice of plenty of drifters due to their low cost since they were installed in cars like the Toyota Chaser and Crown sedans, while still being very tunable and powerful.

28 Home Makeover Ideas 2017 - Duration: 18:35.

28 Home Makeover Ideas for 2017 and beyond

Whether it's part of your new year's resolution or just something you've been meaning to

do, a home makeover can be expensive and can take a ton of work.

Whatever your goal is, the new year is a perfect time to change things up.

Here are a few makeover ideas that will leave your home looking new and fresh, but won't

break the bank.

1.

Give that dull corner of your house a splash of color.

Pick a color that evokes a mood.

Often, a tranquil purple or gray is a good choice for a busy area, or maybe a deep red

will liven the coat corner.

Whatever you choose, do so boldly.

2.

Paint your own geometric wall art.

It doesn't take much—just find some decent looking wooden boards to use and put strips

of painter's tape down to create your own shapes.

This is a great way to dress up a living room without buying an expensive print.

3.

Create an island for your kitchen, Part 1.

In this DIY project, you're going to need a few basic woodworking tools.

After sanding down the corners and smoothing out all the wood, you'll assemble the parts

according to the design you want to make.

It's easier to assemble it all in place, so be sure to map out where exactly the island

will go and how large it will be so that everything fits nicely.

Part 2: In this video, you'll watch as you learn how to properly mark where you want

the island and begin installing the base and the walls of the island.

Use resources like a T Square to make sure that your corners are perfect.

This video also teaches you how to ensure your top will be level before actually installing

the top.

Overall, this isn't a highly complicated project, but you'll need to have everything

prepared ahead of time.

4.

Resurface an ugly concrete patio.

Great news: you don't have to stare at the crack in the concrete patio anymore!

Use interlocking teak flooring tiles to resurface your outdoor patio for a clean new look.

Plus, they are easily uninstalled in case you're not sure if you want to keep them,

or if you're renting.

5.

Use high gloss paint to spruce up your chairs.

If you have a nice set of chairs (or just one), a fun way to change it up a bit is by

updating the surface.

Use some high gloss paint in order to create a shiny new finish that adds a cool touch

to your antique piece.

Be careful, though- high gloss paint will easily show flaws in your paint job!

6.

Use old wood to make a new coffee table.

Whether you use the wood from an antique piece that you inherited, or you just find the wood

at a flea market, you can easily turn it into a cool coffee table.

The smoother the wood, the nicer the table's surface will be, so choose wisely!

7.

Use a crate to make a pet bed.

Let's face it—your pet runs the house...and expects a glorious throne to rule from.

This is an easy project that will impress not just your house guests, but your pet too.

But reassembling a few basic parts of a crate, you can turn a pile of wood into a luxurious

bed your pet will thank you for.

8.

Awesome chalk and dry-erase memo board.

In this easy DIY project, you'll use a simple frame, along with a few special surfaces to

create a chalk-dry-erase combination memo board so you won't forget about coffee with

mother-in-law next time!

9.

Disguise your ugly tile.

Faux tin tile is a fun new product that temporarily covers up your ugly and dated pink tiles.

Whether it's a fireplace or a backsplash in the kitchen, the tile is "versa-tile"

(get it?) and can be placed anywhere.

You won't pay an arm and a leg either, as this can be found for cheap on Amazon.

10.

Resurface your nesting tables with vinyl flooring.

If you have a cool set of nesting tables (just a fancy term for small tables that stack into

each other), and want to vamp them up a bit, you can use your choice of vinyl flooring

for the table surface.

It's fast, easy, and fun.

11.

Paint it black.

And we mean pretty much anything (preferably just not everything).

Floor, wall, bathtub, shelf, backsplash, fireplace, brick, or anything else that could use a spicy

coat of paint.

Choosing which objects to paint can be tricky, but just have fun with it.

Almost anything can be painted black.

Just don't overdo it, or it you'll start feeling like Gollum in his cave

Just be careful when choosing other colors to use...often it's easy to go crazy and

use too many colors in addition to place and your place ends up looking like a Barnum and

Bailey nightmare.

Throughout years of fashion history, black is a classy and decorative color that people

often dismiss when redecorating.

It's been used for symbolic things, as well as expression of the human emotion and elements

of the spirit....

Besides reflecting all the colors at once, black is a neutral and sophisticated color

that never goes out of fashion.

From window frames to the back walls of your bookshelf, black can really change up the

look of your house.

12.

Make your doors more interesting using molding and paint.

Everyone has a few boring doors.

That's not to say they need to grab your attention—they're doors—but you can

add a sophisticated style to your home by adding some subtle molding to the door.

Then outline it by painting the molding a different color than the door.

13.

Make a cool new filing chest for your office.

Filing important things is a necessary evil in everyone's life.

Here's a cool DIY project that will redefine the way you file things away.

You can use it to store anything—from children's toys to important documents.

You make it for what you want it to be.

Check out this guide for what you'll need and how to assemble it.

14.

DIY wooden hose holder with planter.

If you're tired of coiling up the water hose only to hang it on a hook where it gets

all jumbled once again, take on this DIY project to hide the hose.

With this detailed instruction and tools list,

you'll be on your way to having a cleaner

and more beautiful patio area.

The planter fits nicely on the top, while the hose gets stored away down in the bottom.

15.

Spray paint a colorful filing cabinet.

The perfect remedy for a boring office with a plan Jane filing cabinet is a great paint

job.

Paint can do so many different things, and in this case it can really spice up your office

area.

Step one is finding a filing cabinet if you don't already have one.

They can be found in almost any thrift store.

Then use painter's tape to block off the areas you want to paint.

In this fun example, you can see how stripes make a regular cabinet look fresh and new.

16.

Shiplap your wall for cheap.

Everyone has "that" wall in their home...maybe it's due for a paint job or you just don't

like the décor on a specific wall.

Give it a facelift by using cheap shiplap to create a textured modern look.

You can choose the color or go with something more natural looking, like a good quality

wood.

This is a cool way to make that drab wall one of your favorite parts of your home.

17.

Make pull-out shelves for the pantry.

Tired of finding outdated food in the back of your pantry?

There's no telling what kind of swamp monster it could turn into in the back of that pantry

you can't see into.

Fix this issue by following this detailed guide on how to install pull-out drawers for

your pantry.

Trust us, when you're mid-recipe looking for that one can of tomato sauce, you'll

thank us.

18.

Industrial style laundry hamper.

Hate doing laundry?

Us too.

Spice it up with a cool laundry hamper that you actually like to look at.

You'll use a simple metal trash can which can be found at a local hardware store to

make a rolling hamper you'll love to use.

19.

Make a chalk board headboard.

Here's a cool DIY project that is a fun addition to any bedroom, kid or adult (and

it's also a great way to get your kid to get INTO the bed at night).

Just use some general plywood, wood stain, chalk board paint, and a few yardsticks to

get started on this project.

Kids love this and adults do too!

20.

Craft a vintage headboard.

This is a fresh take on another kind of headboard.

In this guide, you will find out how to use artistic frames to fit together in order to

form a headboard.

The frames have cool-shaped holes so that the background comes through.

The great part is that you get to choose the background colors by using a cool sheet or

the perfect material.

21.

Create a book headboard.

Another headboard idea?

They're the perfect way to dress up the bedroom, and it sounds harder than it really

is.

This is an ultra-modern version of a headboard, so put your 2017 hat on and let's get started!

You're going to use opened books to fasten to a larger headboard, and eventually you'll

end up with a perfectly secured headboard.

22.

Design your own light-up headboard.

Okay, another headboard design.

But really—you're going to love it.

This guide shows you how to craft and assemble your own light up headboard.

You can choose how the lights are arranged, and in what shape on the headboard.

It leaves the perfect glow for late night reading without struggling with a lamp.

And you choose the word or shape you want in the board.

23.

Assemble a Styrofoam headboard.

Styrofoam anything is cheap and easy to find.

But when mounted on a wall as a headboard and painted, it looks expensive.

This is a fast and easy way to redecorate your bedroom on a budget.

You can use sticky adhesive squares to fasten them to the wall.

For more headboard ideas (16 more, in fact), check out a link under this video:

24.

DIY Board and Batton border for a fancy room.

There's no better way to dress up a room such as a dining room or sitting room than

to give it borders and textures.

Of course, you could hire someone to do this for you, but that could be pricy.

Plus you'll value it more if you do it yourself!

For a little more challenging project (if you like that sort of thing), follow this

guide to give your walls a clean new finish by doing it yourself.

25.

How to fix popped drywall screws.

Do you have those annoying screws that pop out of the drywall and leave hideous marks

in your wall?

This video explains how to fix this problem easily.

You'll need to grab some more drywall screws and some lightweight patching compound, as

well as some basic tools.

When you're done, you'll be glad to be rid of those ugly holes and you'll be glad

you didn't fork over a ton of cash to do it.

26.

Make a sofa with storage.

If you'd rather add to your living room, rather than redecorate it, this is a cool

way to fancify your home while adding some storage solutions as well.

Sofas with wrap-around shelves is a recent thing, but one that won't go out of style.

Some classy wooden shelves that border your sofa is a great touch to having more storage

and a refined look...just make sure you have adequate room to do this project since adding

shelves to your sofa can take up space.

27.

DIY paneled wall.

Give your room an update in this simple DIY project by making interesting panels for your

wall.

Not only is this a cool and fun project, but it will leave you with a high class look to

your room.

By using a laser, you can draw on your wall exactly where the panels will go so that everything

is level, and so that you can be sure you like the look.

For additional directions, check it out here:

28.

Give an interesting and natural look to your wall.

Use plank boards, or thin plywood sheeting to design your own wall with personality.

In this guide, they've used many different colors and stain combinations in order to

give a blast of color and personality.

If you like something more subtle, then you can go with just one or two colors.

It is recommended that you buy enough wood one the first time, and measure everything

out before you begin.

Screenwriting: Stage vs Turning Point by Michael Hauge - Duration: 3:27.

Film Courage:  Can you help us determine a Stage versus a Turning Point [regarding

the six-state plot structure for screenwriting]?

Michael Hauge:  Yes.

Basically a Stage is a sequence of events in the story.

It covers a span of time.

A Turning Point is a single event that happens to the hero.

So a stage would be, we meet the hero, the hero is living their everyday life.

We maybe meet the villain in the piece.

We meet other characters, the best friend, something like that or in stage two she arrives

at this new job, if that is her new situation, we meet the boss, she has some problems, she

has co-workers, she meets the guy who is going to be the romance character or the love interest.

Those are the stages, they are sequences of events but the opportunity is going to be

a single event that happens to her such as (in that example I just made up) the opportunity

would be she gets the new job.

Ok?

Or the change of plans would be she is told she can have a promotion if she can design

a new house for a billionaire and so her goal in the movie becomes to design a house for

a billionaire.

By the way, I'm making these examples up that's why that would be a terrible movie…so

anyone listening to this don't take that as an example of a good idea you should pursue.

I shouldn't make stuff up off the top of my head.

Let's take an example from a real movie, one of my favorites this year, Jason Bourne.

O.k. stage one we see him.

He's down in Turkey I think?

Or the border of Turkey?

He earns money by getting into fights and knocking these British guys out.

He's obviously unhappy and we see that he's just sort of stuck in this identity of a guy

who has no home, no connection and no real identity in the traditional sense.

He doesn't really know who he is.

Is he Jason Borne or is he really the guy who became Jason Bourne and so on?

So all of that is a sequence.

It's a whole series of events that's a stage and we cut away from him during that

stage and see the Julia Stiles character and she breaks in to this facility that  the

CIA runs or the NSA or whatever it is and she steals these things.

We don't know why.

That's a stage.

It's a whole lot of scenes strung together.

The opportunity is a single event.

He's in this fight and he sees she shows up in his life and is coming to him and now

he's in a new situation.

What am I going to do now that this woman from my past who knows the truth of who I

am, who I apparently had an affair with once before I lost my memory and so on?

What am I going to do?

And so now it's a new sequence of events.

She tells him what's going on they have to go on the run from a guy.

She has to give him the flashlight, etc. and we see new villains and we see what's going

on a the NSA as they try and stop him.

So again, a Stage is a sequence of events.

A Turning Point is a single event that happens to the hero.

QUESTION FOR THE VIEWERS:  What is the first turning point in the last movie you saw?

Celebrities Join Women's March, White House Press Secretary Lies About Crowd Size - Duration: 2:14.

For Complex News, I'm hanuman welch.

As hundreds of thousands protested the incoming trump administration in coordinated country

wide women's marches, attendees were joined by a whole slew of celebrities adding their

voices to the chorus of support.

From LA, where crowds were measured at around 750,000 to DC where crowds tipped the scales

at half a million, celebrities like Zendaya, Seth Rogen, Jenny Slate, and Nick Offerman

came out to march and speak.

Janelle Monae and Alicia Keys spoke and performed in DC with Monae Surrounded onstage by the

Mothers of the Movement and activists, including #BlackTransLivesMatter co-founder Cherno Biko,

Monáe urged everyone to not let the "bullies" get to them.

"Continue to embrace the things that make you unique, even if it makes others uncomfortable.

You are enough"And whenever you feel in doubt, whenever you want to give up, you must

always remember to choose freedom over fear."

While all that was happening, Sean Spicer the new White House press secretary gave a

briefing where he came to the podium and ranted about how Trump's inauguration attendance

was the largest audience to ever witness an inauguration, period.

Which is

completely insane considering the inauguration was Friday and we all saw what the turnout

was.

Spicer's version of history doesn't exist, these are lies.

He came out and said no one had numbers because bc park service doesn't put them out followed

bye this was biggest in history.

He also bailed before taking any questions.

If the Trump administration is going to get this bent out of shape and insecure about

the size of crowd, what else will they try and get away with when we're not looking?

coping mechanisms - Duration: 2:26.

ok.

um i don't have that many coping mechanisms to deal with feeling like this.

um especially when it's been um like a consistently sort of long period of time.

um. all i really, like my main one is this. is video making.

and i like that because um, it makes me feel that even though i'm feeling bad at least

something good has come of it, at least i've been able to use it, um, to create something,

because creation is positive, it's a positive activity and um, when i can't do that, it

really affects how i feel about um my purpose and my worth and, because I place so much

value upon what I make and what i exert into the world that, thats how define myself

i define myself by my videos and it's alot of weight to be put on um what some people might

think is such trivial short clips of random video but um, i just, it- when i can't make

a video, but i've tried to it messes me up.

so i'm trying to just wait and feel better but i've been waiting for a while now.

guess i'll just wait some more.

Locked Up Escape Artist Almost Drowns Holds His Breath for 4 minutes on Norway's Got Talent - Duration: 5:59.

We are soon going to handcuff Christian

Fill the cube with water

Fill the cube with water, and he will try to escape while holding his breath

Mia, can you please come up on stage?

The most dangerous thing about this escape is

If I can't get escape In time, I will drown

and I will have to be rescued by my crew

Mia, we also have a lock-pick, can you just check that out. It's not a key, just a small piece of metal

When you're done can you just place it in Christian's hands

Even If I get an X, or four of them while I'm trying to escape, I can't stop.

I just have to continue to the end, or I will drown.

A medic team are also stand by if something goes really wrong

There Is only one way this stunt can be done, and I just have to hope it goes well

Christian has no way to get anywhere before he has picked all the locks

Any second now the snorkel will be removed

The water will start pouring inn, and a clock will come up on the screen.

Then I want to challenge everyone here and home to try and hold your breath together with Christian.

And see how long would you be able to hold your breath In a situation like this.

The water is starting to flow

The snorkel is removed

And we can start the time NOW

I get claustrophobic from watching this.

He has a small lock-pcik. He has got it

Oh my God

30 seconds has passed and the first hand is loose from the handcuffs

How long can a person hold his breath?

The locks on his arms are harder to pick because It's more difficult to reach the keyhole

He has two left, no three

Two minutes has passed

He can do it..

He has got two left

Two and a half minutes.

Two and a half minute

Oh my God!

hahaha

Three minutes

This is impossible

Oh my God

Holy...

Can he do any longer?

It's almost four minutes now.

FOUR MINUTES?

Come on!

Is he going to make it?

I think he needs help

He won't make it!

Oh holy God!

Four minutes and 20 seconds ladies and gentlemen.

I can't believe It's possible

Holy fuck!

This was the entertainment of the day! I loved it! Totally crazy

Today on Touching Lives...

The reason why my sin will not find me out

is because I went to the cross as a nine year old boy

to the One that's already found my sin out anyway.

And I put all of my sins on Him.

When I put all of my sins on Him, He said,

"Have I ever, ever, ever got good news for you.

Your sin will not find you out; not because you covered it up,

but because I covered it up."

Teaching people everywhere who Jesus is

and why they need Him,

this is Touching Lives with James Merritt.

"...be sure your sin will find you out."

Now, that's a short little statement,

but it's amazing to me as I study the Bible

how much truth God can put in just one short

statement of scripture.

We're going to study that statement in depth today,

and I just want to share with you something

about the dark side.

Three things we're going to learn that I want --

And all I'm trying to do is this.

I'm not trying to be negative.

I'm just trying to really caution some of us

that may be here today and we're thinking about

going into the dark side.

We're thinking about entering into the world of pornography.

We're thinking about entering into the world

of over abusing alcohol or drugs.

We're thinking about going onto the dark side of sexuality.

We're thinking about this dark side or that dark side.

We're thinking about the dark side of holding a grudge

and being bitter.

I just want to share with you three cautions

before you ever decide to do that

that come straight out of this text here.

Here's what this text tells us.

First of all, it tells us that the dark side of sin

will control you.

The dark side of sin will control you.

Now, listen to these words again.

"...be sure," 100% certain, take it to the bank,

"you sin will find you out."

Now, that statement is not only true because it's in the Bible,

it's in the Bible because it's true.

You can't win the game of sin.

It will beat you every time.

You may think you can take all those skeletons of your past,

you may think you can lock 'em up in the closet,

you may think you can lock the door

and throw the key out,

but they will crawl through the keyhole.

They will find you.

They will eventually come out.

And by the way, even if that statement were not in the Bible,

let's just say that verse is not even there,

we still know deep down that verse really is true.

And I'll tell you why.

Jesus, on another occasion, said something about sin.

He said this.

He said, "I tell you, everyone who sins,"

i.e.. everyone who goes over to the dark side,

"is a slave to sin."

Jesus said, "Here's the danger of the dark side."

If you decide to go to the dark side

before you even know what's hit you,

before you even know what's happened,

it will control you.

Now, if you don't believe that, just ask the alcoholic

who wears alcohol like handcuffs every day of his life

and he can't find the key.

Or just ask the adulterer whose marriage has been destroyed

and whose life has been ruined because he sacrificed his family

on the altar of his lust.

Or just ask the purveyor of pornography whose mind

and eyes are so trapped in a sea of sexual images

he cannot escape it.

Or ask a bitter person whose anger and hatred

pulls a dark shade over every sunny day.

We know by experience, we know without it

even being in the Bible.

You know what, you're right.

Some way, somehow, sin has a way of finding you out.

It'll find its way out through your body.

You know, we don't talk about this much anymore,

but there is such a thing as sexually transmitted diseases.

There are 20 different kinds of STDs in the United States

right now, and somebody is infected every 45 seconds.

Finds it out in your body.

Finds it out in your conscience.

There's this ghost of guilt that just kind of has

a way of following you around everywhere you go.

It will find you out in your mind.

You'll see little things and you'll see big things

that will remind you of what you've done.

See, sin's not in a hurry.

Sin never gets hasty.

Sooner or later, sin will serve you

with a summons to appear before the bar of your conscience

and it will become the star witness against you.

Let me give you a very practical,

personal illustration.

And before I say this, before I even address this issue,

I want you to understand what I'm about to say,

I'm not trying to be condemning,

I'm not trying to put anybody here on more of a guilt trip

than you may already be.

I'm going to address that in just a moment.

But let me just tell you something I read about

the other day.

Didn't know much about it.

There are a lot of women who are suffering from

what is known as PAS.

Never heard of it before.

You know what that is?

It's called Post Abortion Stress Syndrome.

It's a mental health problem that's now being discovered

more frequently, listen to this, in women who've had

an abortion five to nine years after they had the abortion.

Dr. Anne Speckhard, who is a psychologist

in northern Virginia has found common symptoms

that vary in intensity from woman to woman.

And she said the number one thing she finds

in these women is just out and out depression.

She found that 60% of women who have an abortion,

they begin to suffer things like frequent crying,

the inability to communicate, sexual inhibitions,

suicidal tendencies, increased alcohol and drug use;

and between 80 and 100% suffered from feelings of grief, sadness,

loss, depression, anger, guilt, and low self-worth.

And again, let me just stop right here.

I know there are women here who have had an abortion,

just a church this size.

If you're one of those women, I want you to understand

what I'm just saying to you.

I want you to hear me clearly.

I didn't say that to put you on a guilt trip.

I didn't say that to make you feel any worse.

It is what it is.

What's been done has been done.

I want to emphasize to you, you may be suffering from PAS,

but there's an answer for that.

It's called the cross of Jesus.

And when you come to Jesus Christ,

I don't care what you've done, how bad it's been,

I don't care how much you've entered into the dark side,

He will forgive you, because God is not

in the business of putting people on a guilt trip.

He's in the business of putting people on a grace trip.

So if you're here today and you're one of those ladies,

and you might even be tearing up right now, hear me.

There is grace for you.

There is forgiveness for you.

The point I'm simply making is this...

the dark side's like Kudzu.

When you enter into the dark side, when you decide,

"I'm just going to go over here,"

you may have intended only to stick your foot in it,

maybe just to dabble in it, but it has a way of spreading

its tentacles around you until, as Jesus said,

it will make a slave out of you.

It will grip your heart, it will grip your soul,

it will grip your mind.

The dark side will control you.

But then it tells us something else.

The dark side of sin will corrupt you.

Now, I want to make a concession here,

'cause I know what some of you are probably thinking right now.

And believe it or not, I'm going to agree with you.

You're probably sitting there and you're going,

"You know what?

You really can't prove what you're saying to me empirically.

I mean, you really can't prove that sin finds out

every person because you just talked about STDs.

Well, I know a lot of sexually promiscuous people

who've never gotten an STD."

I get that.

I've known a few myself.

I'll be the first one to tell you there are

a lot of terrorists who are plotting right now

to kill your kids and my kids,

would love nothing else to do it,

and if they got a chance to do it, they'd go

and sleep like a baby tomorrow night.

There wouldn't be any remorse.

There wouldn't be any regret.

They would be just fine.

But what I do what you to understand is

that there's a greater truth behind this verse

than empirical truth.

There is a spiritual truth.

You say, "What do you mean?"

Well, I want you just to imagine that everybody

could go to the dark side, everybody could sin,

everybody could do wrong, do whatever they wanted to do

and you'd never see any physical consequences,

any mental consequences, any emotional consequences,

any financial consequences of the dark side.

That verse would still be true.

You say, "Okay, prove it.

How do you know that eventually my sin will find me out?

How do you really, deep down, know that I won't get away

with what I'm getting away with right now?"

I'm going to give you one reason...

because God is holy.

God is holy.

See, there are basically two reasons why people

go over to the dark side.

If you think about it, there are basically

two reasons why people do that.

First of all, they think they can hide their actions.

They think they can do it in such a way

nobody will know it.

And then, secondly, they think they can escape their actions.

They actually think they can get away with it.

As a matter of fact, the psalmist even said this.

He said, "Why does the wicked despise God?"

He says to himself, "You will not demand an account."

The psalmist said, "You know why people cross over

to the dark side?

Because deep down, they've convinced themselves

there's no God up there I'm going to have to answer to.

There's not, no God up there that's going to judge me.

As a matter of fact, the terrorist's mind

is so warped, his conscience is so blackened,

he thinks God's going to reward him

for the things that he does."

And when you start thinking, "You know what?

I don't think even God cares what I do"

or "I don't even think there's a God up there

to care what I do," when you start thinking about that,

if you realize it, you've just about put away every reason

not to enter the dark side.

Here's the problem.

I'll be the first one to admit, you can fool a policeman,

you can fool a judge, you can fool a jury.

We're watching this right now.

You can fool public opinion.

But you can't fool God.

There is not a lawyer in the world

that can plea bargain your dark side away with God.

Listen.

You can try to prove the glove doesn't fit;

He still won't acquit.

There are no technicalities in God's courtroom,

because remember, the verse does not say

"be sure your crime will find you out."

One of the most fascinating characters in history to me,

somebody we don't know, I've always been fascinated

by Jack the Ripper.

Jack the Ripper, London, lived in the late 19th century.

He butchered, literally butchered prostitutes in London.

He really gave us the moniker serial killer.

He's the one that made serial killing famous.

And you know what's amazing?

They've written books about this killer.

There's been probably more investigation

about this killer than any other person

who's ever lived, who's ever done this kind of crime.

Do you know that today, 150 years later,

we are no closer to knowing who that guy was

than we were 150 years ago?

We don't even have even a clue.

We don't even have a suggestion on who this guy was.

And yet, all these books have been written about it,

and so somebody says, "Now, wait a minute.

Did he get away with his crime?"

Absolutely.

He got away with his crime.

He won't get away with his sin.

He will not get away with it.

Why?

If there is a God in heaven, that God knows exactly

who he was, He knows exactly what he did,

and one day, he will be judged for the dark side.

It will find you out.

I read about a man the other day,

and he was charged with shooting some pigeons

that belonged to this guy who owned a farm.

And so he's in court and so this guy hires

one of these high-priced lawyers to try to get him off.

And so this lawyer puts the farmer up on the stand

and he's looking at this country bumpkin, he thinks,

"Man, I'm going to make short work of this guy.

I'm going to get my client off, you know, like that."

And so he looked at that farmer and he said,

"Sir, now you're just a farmer."

He said, "Well yeah, I'm just a farmer."

And he said, "You ever been to college."

"No," he said, "I didn't finish the fifth grade."

He said, "Well, do you read and write very well?"

He says, "No, I'm really not real educated."

He says, "Okay.

So I just kind of want to know who I'm dealing with here."

He said, "So let me get this straight now."

He said, "Are you absolutely telling me

that you're swearing to this court

that saw this man kill your pigeons?"

And the farmer said, "Well, no.

I'm not prepared to swear that I saw the man

shoot my pigeons."

"Oh," he said.

"Really?"

He said, "No."

He said, "I didn't say he shot them.

I said I suspected that he shot them."

Well, the lawyer, he's smiling big.

He thinks, "I've got this guy right where I want him."

He says, "Oh, now we're getting to the truth.

So you didn't see the man shoot your pigeons?"

"Well, no, I didn't."

"But you suspected he shot your pigeons?"

He said, "Well, yes, I do."

He said, "Would you mind telling the court why?"

He said, "Well, yeah.

I'll give you four reasons."

He said, "Number one, I caught him on my land

with a gun that was still smoking."

He said, "Number two, I heard the gun go off

and I saw some pigeons fall."

He said, "Number three, I found four of the pigeons

in this pocket.

And number four, I don't think they flew in there

and committed suicide."

Now, the truth is, you can hide a crime,

but you cannot hide a sin.

Listen.

Let me tell you how we think.

This is how we all think.

Why do you think most crimes are committed at night?

Why do you think most crimes are committed

under the cover of darkness?

People think they can hide their sins.

Now, you may sit there and you say, "Man,

that is kind of... I didn't realize it.

That's kind of foolish."

Can I tell you something?

We all have that tendency.

We all -- I'm going to prove this to you.

I bought a car not too long ago, and I don't buy many cars.

If you're like me, I buy a car,

man, I put 200,000 miles on that sucker.

I try to wear it out 'cause I don't like car payments.

I'm allergic to car payments.

So I just, you know, I drive a car 'til it drops.

Well, it's time for me to buy a car,

so I bought a car last fall, and Teresa said, "Now honey,

I don't care what you buy.

Buy whatever you want to buy.

But buy a dark colored car."

She always tells me that.

Now, why do you think Teresa always tells me

to buy a dark colored car.

Anybody want to tell me?

Yeah, hides dirt.

You know, it hides dirt.

You know?

So she'll say if I'm going somewhere,

like if I'm doing a funeral service, she'll,

I'll wear a dark suit.

Wear something, you know, I'll wear a dark dress.

Well, why do you wear a dark suit?

It won't show dirt.

Right?

So you know -- Now, I want you to think about that.

That's practical and it's true.

But have you ever thought about how odd it is

that you think that way?

'Cause here's what you're really saying,

"I don't care if it's dirty,

I just don't want anybody to know it."

Isn't that kind of weird?

"I don't care if I've got marinara sauce

all over my dress; as long as it blends with the dress,

we're good to go."

But we just have that tendency within us.

And this is a perfect parallel of our attitude toward

the dark side of sin, because the more we think we can

hide a sin and the more we think we can get away with a sin,

the more likely we are tempted to commit that sin.

And what I want you to understand is

what matters to most people is not whether or not

they can commit a sin or go onto the dark side.

They don't care about that.

Here's what they want to know.

Is there a way I can do it and get away with it?

Is there a way I can do it

and nobody will ever know about it?

And what this verse of scripture tells us is,

"Look, neither darkness nor distance makes

any difference to God.

He always knows and sooner or later

sin has a way of coming out."

So just mark it down.

Someday, somehow, the moment of truth will arrive,

whether it's in the dark or whether it's in the distance,

God is watching, God is seeing, God is knowing.

You may escape the judge, you may escape the jury,

you may escape justice in the short run.

In the long run, you won't escape God or justice.

"...be sure your sin will find you out."

The dark side will control you

and the dark side will corrupt you.

And if you're still thinking about entering

into the dark side, let me just show you one last thing.

The dark side of sin will condemn you.

It'll condemn you.

Now listen again to that verse, just one more time,

and listen to the last three words.

"...be sure that your sin will,"

now listen to these last three words,

"find you out."

You can run, but you can't hide.

Now, let me just talk.

Some of you are probably saying right now, "Wow, Pastor.

You're just trying to strike fear into us, aren't you?"

Yeah, I am.

I'm not going to lie about it.

I'm trying to strike fear into me.

Because the next time that you even think about

going into the dark side, I just want you to remember this.

That verse doesn't say, "Be sure your sin has found you out,"

because for some of you, it hasn't found you out yet.

Right?

No, it hasn't.

That verse does not say, "Be sure your sin may find you out,"

because then it would leave doubt in your mind.

That verse says, "be sure," dead sure, no matter

what else happens, "your sin will find you out."

Oh, it may not find you out in this moment.

It may not find you out today.

It may not find you out tomorrow.

It may not find you out on this earth.

It may not find you out in this life.

But it will find you out.

Be sure.

No.

It may not find you out immediately,

either physically or mentally or emotionally.

As I've already said, there are people who murder

and rape and molested children last night

and went to sleep just like a baby.

There was no regret.

There was no remorse.

There was no repentance.

As a matter of fact, when someone does something wrong

and is not immediately punished, it's just natural to think,

"Hey, maybe I got away with it.

I think maybe I'm one of these guys,

I'm going to get off scot-free."

As a matter of fact, Solomon said in Ecclesiastes 8,

"When a crime is not punished,

people feel it is safe to do wrong."

Do you know why, in the Constitution,

our forefathers had enough wisdom to say every person

is constitutionally guaranteed to what kind of a trial?

Quick and speedy.

That wasn't just for the innocent person.

That was for the guilty person, because they knew

if people commit crimes and it takes you 25 years

to punish them for the crime, they're not really not

all that concerned about doing the crime.

They know deep down if somebody commits a crime

and they're not immediately punished,

they'll think to themselves, "Maybe I did get away with it.

And if I got away with it once,

maybe I can get away with it again."

And see, here's the problem.

That one verse tells us just because

you get away with a sin now doesn't mean

you'll get away with that sin forever.

And if you happen to be one of those people

who are living in the dark side and you think

you're getting away with it, just because

nothing's happened to you --

You may be living in the dark side for a good long time.

I don't know, maybe for years.

And you say, "You know what?

I have to be honest, man.

Life's good.

My wife doesn't know.

My husband doesn't know.

My kids don't know.

My boss doesn't know.

I'm living good.

I'm healthy.

I'm clean.

I'm physically fit.

I'm making great money.

Never had more fun in my life than I'm having right now.

So maybe..."

Well, hold that thought and listen to this verse.

"The sins of some men are obvious, reaching the place

of judgment in heaven."

In other words, sometimes when you sin, I mean, boom,

it catches up with you just like that.

The sins of others trail behind.

There was a college student and he invited his mother over

for dinner where, during the meal,

his mother couldn't help but notice his roommate

was a girl named Julie and she was a knock-out,

drop-dead gorgeous roommate.

And this mother had long been suspicious about

the relationship between him and Julie,

and she was kind of concerned about it.

And he kept telling her, "Oh no, mom.

It's purely platonic.

We're just in this for an economic benefit.

She doesn't have a place to stay,

I don't have a place to stay, so we're kind of

pooling our resources.

We're just kind of helping each other out."

Well, as they were having dinner, she kind of noticed

how they were kind of interacting with each other

and how they were eyeing each other.

And she just started, you know, couldn't help

but wonder again.

"I just think there's more going on here

than meets the eye."

So her son's kind of reading his mom's thoughts

and he said, "Now, mom, listen.

I know what you're thinking.

Let me just say it again.

We're just roommates.

It's purely platonic.

It's totally innocent.

There's nothing going on.

You don't need to be worried about a thing."

Well, she left and about a week later,

Julie came up to her boyfriend and she said, "You know,"

she's like, "I hate to bring this up."

She says, "I don't know your mom that well,

but you know, ever since your mom came to dinner,

I can't find that beautiful silver tray that we had

and I wanted to use it.

We've got some guests coming over tomorrow night

and I was going to use it to serve some dinner.

And ever since she's gone, it's...

She...

It's gone."

And she said, "Look, I don't even know how to say this,

but you don't think maybe she took the tray, do you?"

And the son said, "Well, gosh, no.

I don't think that mom...

I don't think she'd ever do that.

I'll write her a letter just to be sure."

So he sat down and he wrote this letter, "Dear Mother,

I'm not saying you did take a silver tray from my house,

and I'm not saying you did not take a silver tray;

but the fact remains that one has been missing

ever since you were here for dinner.

Love, Your Son."

So about five days later, he gets a letter.

And his mother wrote this, "Dear Son, I'm not saying

that you do sleep with Julie, and I'm not saying

you do not sleep with Julie; but the fact remains

if Julie was sleeping in her own bed

she'd have found the silver tray by now.

Love, Mom."

[laughter]

What's the lesson?

Big lesson about silver trays, right?

Now, here's the lesson.

The lesson is maybe to mom, maybe to dad,

maybe to husband, maybe to wife, maybe to pastor,

maybe to police, maybe to a judge,

but one day to God your sin will find you out.

The silver tray will be discovered.

The dark side will be revealed.

Nobody can, has, or ever will get away with sin.

"...be sure your sin will find you out."

Now, I never close on a negative.

Üetliberg Winter Soaring - Duration: 7:09.

So hello there!

I just arrived up here at Üetliberg (Balderen)

I hiked up the Ris track.

It was a 20min hike.

So now I'll try to fly down the Üetli-Hill

at lake Zürich.

It is important to have north-easterly winds here

since the takeoff site here is quite small.

First time for me to fly here.

So I will check if it is flyable today.

Also very important here at this spot,

to study the aeronautical charts and air spaces before flight,

there are many CTR's, TMA's and small airfields arround here!

We do not want to hurt any regulations!

There is the takeoff site, lets check it out!

So, I decidet to give it a try. The wind is quite strong but

there are quiet phases in between, I wait for one of them,

I am ready, when the wind calms, I can take off.

Wind peaks are at arround 30 km/h (16 kn)

average at arround 25 km/h (13 kn), lowest wind below 20 km/h (11 kn).

There is snow coming! I get down there to land.

I landed after a 45min fligh,

I was quite cold and also I saw that weather front coming,

ok, not a front, but a lot of snow.

it was getting very cold, but I can recommend this spot.

Down here is also a sign which describes everything like landing fees, very nice, I'd like to come back!

It was not a bad idea to go for landing,

there is quite a snow storm out there.

If you need info about this spot, there is the link down here. (www.pgzh.ch)

Have fun and let me know what you think about this spot!

This is how the mold is expected to be.

The templates are glued with glue stick...

The three parts of the base are spaced with segments of cardboard pipe, joined with instant adhesive.

A slight cut in the lines where the piece will be bended.

One layer of Con-Tact, to make it impermeable.

Apply a good and uniform layer.

Preparing the resin.

The first layer of fiberglass is "cloth".

Remove air that forms bubbles.

Next layer of fiberglass is "mat".

And one more layer of "mat".

Before the material gets completely "cured", the unwanted edges can be cut with utility knife. (TAKE CARE! Protect your body.)

C_A.N.D_Y Cakes Introducing Vlog : Chohee [ re-make & Eng Subs ] - Duration: 5:24.

*in korean* Hello C_A.N.D_Y Cakes: Chohee Park....Hi

uhm yeaah

Before i begin

i want to apologize for the quality and everything

uh i will look that i make in in the future a lil bit better but

i think u know that the first videos are never so professional and good

but yeah....

the away with that and lets go to the actual point

i maked/uploaded a Introducing video before too but when i watched it again i was like nope to much cringy so i deleted it okay........

first i set it on privat i need bc i to delete it xD

*breathes in* yeah

eh i'll introduce myself, My name is Chohee im 16 years old

i am half german half russian, live here in Germany

thats why i speak german ( bc i am too lazy to talk in english)

uhhh yeaaah..

I am a member from C_A.N.D_Y Cake(s) and more to our channel and stuff later

uhh yeah....(again uh yeah xD )

I am Cosplayer since 2013...but i need to say that i did not upload so many cosplays

i meant make but...

2017 just began, maybe i will *make more cosplays in that time ( XDDD i wanted to say make but i said upload)

like i need to see with the time aand the money u know...

i think every Otaku,Cosplayer or kpop fan knows that moment and knows how it feels when u want many things, but then the money ( and times) comes between

*breathes again in* yeah..

right......uhhhh yeah

now the important things abt me / from me

uh..i am genderfluid uh..

that means.....

...i...

u can already hear that in the name

those one who can speak/undestand english

Gender = Geschlecht .....Fluid = Flüssig

fluid......u can say that like fluid u know like ( dunno how to translate that stuff)

uh yeah that mean that u switch between the genders

female, male, both, neither

and that happens most time unknowing; by some people its diffrent, for me it is ..that

i switch around and never notice it so often

only at the end

u can notice that ( that i switch) how i dress me up and how i speak, how i act and..

yes

its a little bit hard to explain

because...genderfluid people....well..in the world are many genderfluids but..

uhh i just know to many people who dont even know what this is so...

yes

uhhh yeah.......i am also asexual and pansexual

so asexuality is basically that you dont have attractions to sexual stuff like sex or masturbation

it is.....it is totally diffrennt by anybody so

for me it is like

i can do jokes, with kissing i too dont have a problem

and like i said the 2 things in before, i dunt like/fell attracted to sex and masturbationare not so my thing and..it doesent intrested me i dunt need that xD

i dont know how its gonna be in the future but...

yes so....pansexuality is....basically...

*thinking abt how to explain it right

many people mistake it and say that bisexuality and pansexuality is the same but

but its not the same....bisexual people...uh

like uh..bisexual people just love/feel attracted just to males and females

but pansexual people love/feel attracted to mans,woman,transgender.....there are to many sexes but

like basically u dont care about the gender just the personality......like for me the personality is more important in my panter than how my patner looks or the gender...i just dont care

when i love that person, then i just love the person

yeah...more to me and stuff like i'm going to upload vid on my own channel

i am going to link all the social media acc that i have in the discription down below, like twitter or instagram, my own youtube channel and ect.

yeah uuuuhh

i'm gonna say...

i wanted to say something to the name C_A.N.D_Y Cake(s)

i created the name

and had also some help from the members ( like asking if are they okay with the name and stuff)

created the name but actually the idea and the name came from me and..

and the meaning ....like behinde C_A.N.D_Y Cakes in that name is a really deep meaning..uh

i'm gonna look for it that i upload a vid where i explain the meaning from that name later..

yeah i still dunno how its gonna work but..

more informations i/we will give you soon..

like ...i have now said everything that i wanted to say uhh yeah

i just want to say thank you for watching!

and uh yeah... give a thumbs up when u like this video... when u want so see more of this yeah....

our other members who are official are in this whole groups are gonna make

they own introducing videos too and gonna upload them ya know

:D wait for it

yes...thank you for watching ( again )

uhh yeah....like i said

more informatios are going to come later...

i m thanking you for listening

and then i wish..

you a good day/night and..

*in korean bye* BYEE

Journaling is Fun - Duration: 2:03.

Hi, Debbi Mack here.

And I'm testing out a new mic, actually.

It seems to be doing pretty well, so let's keep going.

I don't know about you, but I tend to make lists and use journals a lot.

So thing is that a lot of times they're in books like this.

You know those spiral-bound things you get at Staples or someplace like that.

So, it's nicer to keep your journals in a nice-looking notebook.

And a journal is a wonderful thing.

You can use it for any purpose.

You can keep a goals journal, a travel journal, a wish list journal, a bucket list journal.

There are so many different types of journals out there ... a motivation journal.

I could go on and on.

The thing is, I'm thinking about making journals myself and publishing them, so I'll let you know

as soon as I come out with one and let you know where you can buy it.

That's pretty much all I had to say at this point.

Thanks and, hopefully, my new microphone here has worked.

Talk to you later.

Reading Diversely & Picking What to Read // Discussion - Duration: 3:55.

Hi everyone! It's Clarisse, this is ClarisseReads

and today I'm going to talk a bit about

reading more diverse science fiction and

fantasy books. As you may know, I decided

not to set yearly reading goals but

instead try to set more specific

quarterly reading goals. And I'm still

sticking with that, but even though I'm

doing that there are still some reading

goals that are more general that I do

want to prioritize - not necessarily for

the year, but just right now, for some

undefined period of time - and one of

those goals is to read more diverse

science fiction and fantasy. Well, the

first part probably makes sense to you; a

lot of people on Booktube have been wanting

to read more diversely - I mean to

DiverseAThon is a thing, and I think it's

going to be happening when this video goes up -

and that's something I want to strive towards

generally. But the reason that I'm trying

to read diverse science fiction and

fantasy specifically...well, I think that has

bit of a longer explanation. Recently, when

I was trying to reflect a bit on my

reading goals in 2016, and things

that went well, things that went wrong - I

did make those videos, but there were

some thing I noticed that I wasn't able

to mention in those videos. Specifically

for my "Read the World" goal. As I mentioned in

the video when I talked about the results of

that reading goal, I was pretty proud of

what I was able to accomplish, and I'm

still pretty proud of it.

But something I forgot to mention is that even

though I read from so many different

countries

last year I don't think any of the books

I read from my "Read the World" goal made

it to my "Favorites of 2016" video - like I

tried to read more diversely, but my favorites

videos still didn't end up being all

that diverse. I tried to figure out, why is that?

Am I just naturally biased towards things

that aren't diverse without me even trying

to be biased? Then I realized there was

something wrong with my mindset when it

came to reading more diverse books.

When I pick books to read in

general, I normally gravitate towards

science fiction and fantasy, because I

know that those are my favorite genres.

But when I was trying to pick books for,

example my "Read the World" challenge last year,

I was picking books that were rated really

highly, books that were recommended by

my friends...and I don't think there's

anything wrong with that, but I do want

reading diversely to become something

normal, to become something natural.

And I don't think that's going to happen if I

continue to have this disconnect

between how I choose books to read in

general and how I choose books to read

that are diverse. I wasn't unimpressed by my

"Read the World" books because they were

from other countries, but because I

wasn't picking them the way I was picking

books normally. I wasn't picking them

with the same filters. I wasn't picking

books that I thought I WOULD enjoy, but

instead I was picking books that I thought I

SHOULD enjoy, and I think there's

something wrong with that.

So now, for again, some undefined period

of time, I want to try to focus more on

reading diversely, but also reading

books from the genres I love, and

knowing that those two things aren't

separate, I don't need to think of them [as] separate,

I don't need to pick diverse books

differently from the way I pick normal books.

So I'm hoping by the end of the year my

favorites video is going to be a lot more

diverse, I'm hoping that as I progress

with this channel I'm going to be

able to share books that other people

aren't talking about, and, most

importantly, I hope that reading

diversely eventually becomes something

that I don't need to consciously do but

instead becomes something that I

naturally gravitate towards doing. So that's all I

have to say about that,

I guess. Sorry if it was a bit ramble-y; normally for videos I try

to write a bit of an outline first, but I was actually filming

something completely different when I

suddenly went off on a tangent and started

talking about this, so I figured I might as well

make it a completely different video. So if

you have any thoughts on this, or on reading diversely

in general, feel free to share it with me in the comment

section below. Also feel free to share with me any of

the diverse science fiction or fantasy books that you think I should read

also down below. Anyway, thank you so

much for watching, and I hope to see you next time. Bye!
