GTA: San Andreas in a Handheld device? GPD XD review and tweak test - Duration: 5:29.

The GPD Win and the GPD Pocket have quickly transformed into two of my favorite gadgets.

I have played some games exclusively on the Win and parts of this video were edited on

the Pocket.

These two devices are the result of two really successful crowdfunding campaigns.

Creating hardware products is much harder than people usually think, several projects

I have been following closely have run into severe issues when trying to make their products

a reality.

Which begs the question, where did GPD obtained the experience and prof that they can deliver?

Why were so many people willing to trust this company enough to pledge money and make this

campaigns happen?

The answer might lie on this device, the GPD XD.

Before the GPD Win, Shenzen based company GamePadDigital was better known for making

android based handheld game devices with the XD being possibly the best known product until

the Win made it into the market, and it is easy to see how both products share some of

the same DNA.

Both are clearly styled after the 3DS, from the controls to the clamshell design and the

GPD Win was clearly meant to be a successor of sorts to the GPD XD as they both have have

very similar build quality

and both use very similar controls, with the stick button mapped

in weird places but the difference in OS changes the focus of both devices quite a bit.

While the WIN was meant to be a portable PC gaming machine from the start the XD is probably

geared towards emulation, as soon as you turn on the device you are presented with a interface

mapped to a set of pre installed emulators that auto detect games on specific folder

and…

All right, before moving and talking about emulation I am going to make the typical disclaimer…

laws about backups vary by region also please do not post links or place to download illegal

roms on comments because I will delete them and probably ban you

Right, so the specs on the GPD XD are ok for an android device, and it handles most emulation

pretty fine although I will comment that the emulators included in the device

are really old. I highly recommend you change the launcher and install updated emulators.

A noteworthy mention is dreamcast emulation.

I have experimented a bit in the past on emulating this 6th generation console on slow devices

so I was really surprised when Sonic Adventure 2 was playable at full Speed on the GPD XD.

I didn't even have to change settings.

This is a nice surprise, I played this game a lot when I was a preteen and even tough

the controls are wonky the levels can be quite fun.

I ended up extending this test way longer than I should.

But emulators aside what originally cough my attention on this device is the fact that

a fair amount of classic PC games have been ported to Android which could possibly reframe

this device as a gateway into some classic PC gaming.

For example, I decided to start with the Android port of Max Payne.

If Sonic Adventure 2 was the game of my pre-teens Max Payne was my thing when I was a young

edgy and cringy teenager.

Eeeeegh, I can't believe I tough this plot was deep.

But apart from that the action on the game itself is fantastic and on the lowest settings

it runs pretty well on the device, only showing some slowdown on explosions or overly extreme

action.

Now if you seek to reduce graphics further or get better performance there are some options

available on Android.

These options always require having a rooted device, which thankfully is not complicated

on the XD and I have left a link in the description explaining the process.

It will literally take you 15 minutes.

But, with the device rooted you can use something like gtools, also linked in the description,

a program that allows you to change opengl settings on games and reduce the internal

resolution even further than what it usually allows as well as cut texture resolution, also you can

disable some other effects which can lead to some… very amusing graphics if that is

your thing.

Another interesting ported game is Grand Theft Auto: San Andres, the well known open world classic.

It also did relatively well on the XD on the lowest settings, just staying around 30 fps.

And sure, you can edit this game with gltools as well but there is also something very interesting

to play around with, Mods!

Turns out there are communities dedicated to modding the mobile version of this game.

For example, I will be using this one "FPS Optimizer".

This mod is basically a couple of CLEO scripts that help with some slowdowns and make the

game permanently night, which apparently can help in some devices.

Installing them is as easy as moving those scripts to Android/data/com.rockstargames.gtasa

and then installing the CLEO SA app.

This will enable you to activate the scripts and check they are enabled.

I have left links too all necessary tools and some extra FPS mods.

So, wrapping up, the GPD XD is a device that hides a little more surprises that you would

think.

Compared to its successor its focus changes entirely due to its OS.

Unless you look for unofficial updates the device is stuck on 4.4 and android itself

can be a pain in the but to operate in a device of this format compared to Windows and while

you might not use this to play more modern PC games if you want something considerably

cheaper, with better battery life where you can play game classic games this might be

the device for you.

If you are interested there is a referral link in the description, which would help

the channel a great deal.

In any case, thank you for watching for contributing in patreon or for anything you do.

Vojtěch Benda: The gold hoard is a myth (Part 2) - Duration: 8:37.

Gold forms part of the central bank's reserves.

The CNB is often criticised

for getting rid of most of its gold reserves

in the late 1990s.

What led the CNB to make this decision,

and was it a mistake?

I wasn't in the central bank's management back then,

so I can't tell you exactly how the debate went.

However, the prevailing view in most of the developed world at the time was

that gold no longer has any real value for monetary policy-making

and doesn't perform the role of foreign exchange reserves in the true sense.

On top of that, it isn't liquid enough.

It's hard to sell – most of the time it isn't sold at all.

In addition, the costs of holding it are high,

as you have to pay a depository to keep the dust off your bullion.

The CNB wasn't alone in getting rid of its gold.

Other renowned institutions around the world, such as the IMF, did the same.

From that perspective,

it was an entirely logical step at the time

and there are no grounds to criticise it.

The arguments against

– for example that gold has strengthened in the meantime –

may be right, but stock indexes have gone up as well,

and bonds have also made a decent contribution to the growth

in the value of our reserves.

So from that point of view there's no reason to say

that selling gold was a fundamental mistake.

But why do you think that gold, or the sale of gold,

is such a sensitive issue for Czech society and the Czech Republic?

It's not just us.

A return to the gold standard was a vote-winner in the US presidential campaign, for example.

People still have the impression that the currency is backed by gold, by a metal.

We therefore need to ask: Why gold?

Why not tungsten, silver or some other metal?

Anyway, if we wanted the Czech currency to be backed by gold,

we would need around 600 tonnes to back the CZK 600 billion.

There wouldn't be enough gold to back all the currencies in the world.

That's why gold was abandoned,

because no one can sufficiently guarantee gold backing for the currency.

On top of that, if we wanted to keep a fixed ratio to gold,

it would tie the central bank's hands as regards monetary policy-making.

The amount of money in circulation rises as the economy grows,

so central banks would have to buy gold all the time to keep the ratio constant.

This post-WWII setup was abandoned in the 1970s

exactly because it proved unviable and unsustainable from the monetary policy-making perspective

So the monetary policy regime changed long ago,

but people's emotional ties to it linger on

as a relic of the gold standard,

which, as you said, was abandoned in the 1970s?

Yes, I think it's sentiment.

Another issue is what monetary policy should actually do.

What should the currency be stable against?

Should it be stable against a commodity – a metal or whatever else?

Or should it be stable against the basket of goods that people consume

– clothing, food, housing, fuels?

This is basically the concept we have today.

It's what we call inflation targeting, maintaining price stability,

i.e. keeping the value of the domestic currency very stable against the basket of goods that people buy,

so that inflation doesn't destroy the purchasing power of the currency and people's savings and wages.

The Czech National Bank currently has around 10 tonnes of gold in its safes.

Isn't that too little compared with other countries, for example the Bundesbank?

In addition, that gold is now being gradually used up to produce new gold coins.

Are you considering buying more gold as time passes?

Gold is what economists call a talisman.

It has talismanic value.

It's certainly true to say that for a large section of the public it is a guarantee

– albeit a false one –

of currency stability and exchangeability.

I wouldn't be against discussing this in the future.

In the right conditions we can increase the gold reserves or switch part of the forex reserves to gold.

Another issue is how much.

Even the most progressive investment strategies

– such as those applied to private investment funds –

do not advise investing more than a few per cent in gold, or commodities generally.

This is because commodity prices are unpredictable and their future is very uncertain.

From the investment perspective, it's much better to buy shares in gold-mining firms

than to buy physical gold directly,

because those firms are much better able to withstand commodity price swings.

The central bank currently holds a relatively large percentage of shares,

which are a much better investment than gold.

I'm not against discussing this in the future,

but there's no consensus on it among central banks either.

There are central banks such as the Bank of Canada which hold no gold at all.

It issues a reserve currency that is recognised internationally

– we ourselves hold it in our forex reserves –

and no one's bothered that it isn't backed by gold.

The currencies of Norway and Croatia aren't backed by gold.

Then there are countries that have very low forex reserves in gold, such as Hungary.

I can't see any great problem with that, and I don't think it would fundamentally change anything.

However, I wouldn't be against discussing a slight increase in forex reserves in gold

if it would boost the confidence of Czech firms and households in the domestic currency.

In the case of the Czech National Bank,

what do you think would be the maximum safe level of gold as a percentage of its forex reserves?

It shouldn't be more than two or three per cent of the total reserves.

Preferably lower, I think, because as I said earlier, commodities generally experience relatively high

and unpredictable volatility over their economic cycle.

Prices rise and then fall sharply again.

So from that point of view,

it's a potentially more profitable part of the forex reserves.

But from the perspective of the conservative strategy that the central bank should stick to,

it's an asset that is highly volatile and hence highly risky to our bottom line.

I'd therefore be very sparing with it.

If you were to express the maximum safe level in tonnes,

how many tonnes of gold would it mean for the Czech National Bank?

I can't work it out now, but it would be in the tens of tonnes.

Our forex holdings peaked in the 1930s at 100 tonnes of gold.

That was the peak.

For comparison, the famous gold hoard

that Czech firms and households gathered in collections

for the creation of the Czechoslovak currency

amounted to 300 kg of gold.

That's a fraction – around three-tenths of one per cent – of the total gold reserve at the time.

So it's a myth that the public created the central bank's gold reserve in a collection

after the establishment of Czechoslovakia?

It really is a myth.

300 kilos of gold – that's just a few bars.

It really wouldn't have been enough to safeguard the stability of the currency, or to back it.

The central bank subsequently bought gold on the markets.

It's a myth just like the one that the National Theatre in Prague was built on public donations.

It's also well-known that the biggest donors were the Czech nobility and the Habsburg court.

The gold gathered in those collections was returned after WWII as bullion,

so it's no longer in the form of rings and necklaces like it was between the wars.

Thank you for the explanation and for all your replies.

Goodbye.

Thank you.

How an underground script list changed movies - Duration: 7:35.

"AAHAHH!!!"

Two questions.

Number one. Why is Mel Gibson fighting a beaver puppet?

Two. How did this movie get made?

The Beaver is a 2011 dark comedy about depression.

It is so pitch black dark it's basically a drama — with a talking beaver puppet.

The movie was not a hit.

It was a failed comeback attempt for Mel Gibson after anti-semitic tirades, DUIs, and allegations

of abuse.

But you can't forget that this movie is deeply, unflinchingly, weird.

It got made at a time when the top ten movies at the box office were all parts of larger franchises.

Jacob: "You guys...

...really look great together."

How did this happen?

"Allow me to briefly explain."

If you go to screenwriter Kyle Killen's old

Blogspot blog, there's a clue.

A post from December 11th, 2008 called "Blacklisted."

That's because in 2008, Kyle Killen landed on

the top of "The Blacklist."

Since 2005, a survey called The Black List has recorded the most liked, unproduced screenplays

bouncing around Hollywood.

Industry insiders submit their favorite unproduced screenplays, and then the anonymous votes

are tallied and published.

It's that simple.

But it's quickly become a huge source of buzz.

And it's based on scripts alone.

And by looking at The Blacklist's success, you can learn something about how all these

movies — from number one to number 216 — actually get made.

When Franklin Leonard started his black list survey, he didn't have a master plan.

Just a big idea.

Franklin: You have a much greater chance of making a great movie with a great script, than you do if you don't have one."

So he started something in December 2005.

"The Black Llist started as a...survey. My job was I was working for Leonardo DiCaprio's film production company."

"My job was to find great scripts."

"I felt like I was doing a very bad job at my job. I wanted to do a better job at my job."

"I sent an email to 75 of my peers and said send me a list of your 10 favorite screenplays

that haven't yet been produced, and in exchange I will send you the combined list."

"They all voted."

"And I put it all on an Excel spreadsheet."

"Ran a pivot table"

"Output it to PowerPoint."

"Put a quasi subversive name on it: 'The Black List,'

was a reference to both the Hollywood blacklist of the McCarthy era."

"And sent it out."

"I think that the The Black List only could have come into existence at the time it did."

The first Black List went viral the same weekend that Lazy Sunday went viral online — from Saturday Night Live."

"The way in which we consume information online and the way in which we share information online,

that was, I think, the beginning of that moment where all those relationships and

all of that that we were comfortable with in terms of sharing information, for better or for worse, started changing."

Suddenly, a list of great stories could show up in one place and be distributed around

the world, thanks to the internet everywhere.

That 2005 Black List included future hit movies like Juno.

But to understand its real influence, you have to go beyond the list.

Let's say getting a movie made requires a certain amount of buzz.

Let's make the metaphor really literal here.

Take 2011's top movie, Harry Potter And the Deathly Hallows, Part II.

It's a franchise, last one was a hit, it has huge stars — there's no question about buzz.

It gets made.

Now imagine a movie like The Beaver.

"I think it's important to remember that, every year, there are something like 50,000 screenplays registered at the Writers Guild. Every year."

"If you are a particularly industrious reader, maybe you'll read a thousand screenplays a year.

So, obviously, there's a gap of some 49,000 scripts. Just in that single year that are submitted to Hollywood generally— that you're not going to read."

Now The Beaver was not plucked from nowhere.

Kyle Killen had representation, and it had been picked up by a production company.

Steve Carell was even attached before the 2008 Black List came out.

But this movie was not Harry Potter.

Winning the Black List made the buzz public

and, at the same time, sustained that buzz through actor and director changes.

It kept going until a movie about a talking beaver puppet improbably, miraculously, actually got made.

"We just say: send us a list of your favorite screenplays that haven't yet been produced."

"You end up with a list that includes everyone from, Aaron Sorkin and David Benioff,

and people who literally this is their first screenplay and they've just arrived in Hollywood or they're still living outside of LA.

Kyle Killen was not yet a Hollywood insider.

But the Black List clearly helped his movie keep buzzing.

Dissecting hype is hard.

Take 2012's Argo.

It got 28 votes on the 2010 Black List.

It already had a reputation.

It was based on a great 2007 Joshua Bearman Wired article, optioned by George Clooney.

They got former CIA agent Tony Mendez involved.

So it had energy.

But the buzz kind of leveled off.

Then after the 2010 Black List came out, Ben Affleck decided to direct.

The Blacklist didn't make Argo or Juno happen, but it got the scripts noticed.

It didn't singlehandedly greenlight the hundreds of movies it's featured.

Some you've heard of.

Some you haven't.

But it has amplified buzz that isn't about big stars in amusement park ride adaptations,

toy friendly sequels, or superhero franchises.

It's buzz about words.

Stories.

Today the Black List is a well-oiled machine,

including its own podcasts, events, and online submission network.

And it's all focused on generating hype about...writing.

"I know when I am reading a good script because the rest of the world ceases to exist...and

and when you're finished, you're a little sad because you don't get to spend more

time with those characters."

The Beaver was not a box office hit.

It ended up in 216th place in 2011.

The Rotten Tomatoes rating?

61%.

Fine, but not great.

In the beginning of The Beaver, there's a scene where Mel Gibson is about to walk back to his car...

and drive home.

But then he stops.

Mel sees something mangy and weird in the pile of trash.

He pulls The Beaver out.

And then?

Everything changes.

RUMOR: Triple H UNHAPPY With Finn Balor On WWE Raw?! | WrestleTalk News Sept. 2017 - Duration: 3:57.

Hello and welcome to the WrestleTalk News - I'm Oli Davis.

Any Man With Two Hands The July 25th, 2016 episode of Monday Night

Raw will go down in history as a pivotal night in WWE.

Just one week after the second brand split, the show saw the beginning pushes of two future

main eventers around whom the company would soon be built: Braun Strowman, no longer with

the Wyatt Family, starting his solo career by squashing an enhancement talent.

The other… the guy he squashed, James Ellsworth, who made his full WWE debut with the hopeful

words: "Any man with two hands has a fighting chance."

Apart from Baron Corbin.

I don't think he's ever winning a match again.

He resurfaced two months later as AJ Styles' mystery tag team partner in the main event

of Smackdown Live, which just so happens to be a year ago this week:

"#OnThisDay 1 year ago, I made my first ever appearance on #SDLive I've had so many

great memories on #SmackDownLIVE can't wait for many more"

Although currently in a heel act with Carmella where he wears a chain around his neck - oh

Kingslayer - Ellsworth celebrated his anniversary with another Smackdown wrestler - hanging

out with Shinsuke Nakamura in Las Vegas, presumably after a long night of Michael Jackson impressions

on the dance floor.

And the unlikely bromance didn't stop there, because just several days later the two were

making waves in Hawaii.

But while Ellsworth's WWE career has been a roaring success...

Triple H Unhappy With Finn Balor?

...Finn Balor's first year on the main roster has seen him mostly out with injury and stuck

in a never ending feud with Bray Wyatt.

Wrestling News World are reporting - so take this with a pinch of salt - that Triple H

"has not been happy with how Balor has been lost in the shuffle" on Raw.

Debuting on that same post-Brand Split episode of Raw as Ellsworth, Finn was quickly pushed

into the main event, and became the inaugural Universal Champion several weeks later at

Summerslam.

But a shoulder injury he sustained in that match forced him to relinquish the title to

multi-time Champion Vacant, and he missed the next seven months while recovering.

Since Balor's return, he took the fall in the Fatal Five-Way main event at Extreme Rules,

and only just got his first proper storyline with Wyatt in the build to Summerslam.

Balor seems to have become a cautionary tale to Triple H and his NXT call-ups.

Wrestling News World add that Hunter "lobbied hard" to have both Shinsuke Nakamura and

Bobby Roode go to Smackdown, where Vince McMahon isn't as hands on - meaning Triple H can

protect those he's cherry-picked from NXT.

Apparently Hunter has convinced Vince "that talent earmarked for a big push should have

graduated to Smackdown first before graduating to Raw".

This is somewhat contradicted by the recent announcement Asuka will be debuting on Monday

nights - although Dave Meltzer did report that's more because of the lack of depth

in Raw's women's division compared to Smackdown.

Both Wrestling News World and the Wrestling Observer Newsletter point out the Raw Vs Smackdown

difference can be seen in each show's respective main event scenes.

More than ever since the Brand Split, Raw is now built around very physically impressive

wrestlers - Braun Strowman, Roman Reigns, Brock Lesnar and John Cena.

While Smackdown instead focuses on the physically smaller Kevin Owens, AJ Styles and Shinsuke

Nakamura.

Jinder Mahal is the exception here, but this was apparently a Vince call, as he wanted

a top title on him for WWE's expansion into India, "but was unwilling to make him the

champion of Raw".

Did Vince McMahon shoot on CM Punk in Smackdown's main event?!

And has Roman Reigns and John Cena's 'shoot' feud become stale?

It's a friendly contest between colleges and universities to promote waste reduction.

Pete's Za, a new campus dining facility in Meredith Hall, sealed the deal for Purdue.

They use biodegradable pizza boxes, made from 100 percent recycled material.

The box can be torn into four plates to eat off of.

In one semester University Dining & Catering department has saved $1,200 on purchasing

pizza boxes.

Students say they like it, too.

Purdue gets a certificate made out of recycled materials and a traveling trophy that they

get to keep for one year.

Interact Project - Duration: 4:06.

Hello my name is Collin Craige, I am a research engineer at Oklahoma State University.

The National Whole Chain Traceability Institute, developed here at OSU has developed a whole

chain traceability software specifically targeted towards beef cattle products.

This software could be expanded to include other products such as fruits, grains, or vegetables.

While there are challenges associated with developing a product of this sort, it could

provide significant benefits for consumers and producers.

Many growers of specialty food products find that some consumers are willing to pay extra

for food products that are sustainably grown and harvested.

Many consumers are especially interested in the opportunity to learn more about the farmer,

the farm on which the product are grown, and the farm lifestyle.

Many products that consumers regularly purchase, such as oranges or avocados, can be worth

more to consumers if they know more about the production process.

The USDA has a slogan for this type of purchasing called "know your farmer know your food".

A prime example of how this desire can be transformed into economic growth for small

producers and farmers is the system developed by Top10 Produce.

Top10 Produce has pioneered a system in which a shopper at a farmers market can use a smartphone

to scan a bar-code or a QR code which will instantly display information about the product.

This could include a video of the farm, videos of how the product is harvested, recipes for

the farm produce, or just pictures of the farm family.

However, their system is locally based.

To reach consumers who cannot visit the farmers market where the grower sells their produce,

say a orange producer in California selling in Chicago, the Top10 Produce system could

interface with OSU's whole chain traceability system.

At each transaction the bar-code or QR code can record the products travel along the supply chain

This lets the consumer know all the steps that were taken by their food before it reached

their dinner table.

Meanwhile, the producer can keep track of the time along the way, or other items such

as the temperature of the product to ensure that the consumer receives a fresh product.

A whole chain traceability system can provide additional benefits, such as improving food

safety through the dissemination of information to the consumer, or by facilitating food recalls

in the event of food contamination.

Extending OSU's whole chain traceability system to interface with other systems, such as Top10

Produce can allow consumers to interactively learn about their food and see where their

food comes from.

They can in turn provide the producer with feedback about the product and the producer

can then use this feedback to improve their product.

This lets them improve food safety and provide a better quality product to the consumer.

SLIP-N-SLIDE CHALLENGE MED SP4ZIE & ATHENA | #CokeTVBucketlist - Duration: 6:53.

-This looks super fun! -Yes.

-Oh my god. The speed will be crazy. -This is...

-She's on her stomach! -Oh my god!

I'll have my sunglasses on because the weather is so nice.

Are you just going to sit there and sunbath?

-No, I was thinking that we should do a challenge like we usally do. -Yes, of course.

Did you sleep well? Are you excited?

So excited, and I feel like the weather is on our side today. Right?

But let's look at what we're going to do instead of just sit here and chill all day.

Good idea! I pick a challenge.

"Do SlipnSlide!!"

Slipnslide?

What's that?

I don't know.

I'm thinking... But it might be something else.

But you know when you have a tarpaulin and soap it up, then you slide on it.

That's what I'm thinking.

Yes, I'm so clumsy. I can't do those things.

-But I think that's for your benefit actually. -Do you really think so?

Yes, because then you can do cool tricks of your mistakes. Come on!

So we're slip-n-sliding today?

Slipping and sliding!

-Then we have a wet suit on again Athena. -Yes.

It feels good. It feels like we're ready for another adventure.

And then straight down in the water.

Now it's my last jump.

Don't lose hope.

#OOTD No. 3 // The Garment Pop Up Shop | Dearly Bethany - Duration: 5:36.

hey guys I just wanted to pop in midweek and tell you about my outfit of the day

I think that this outfit would be really good for anytime in fall because you get

to layer with it which is really cool so let's start head-to-toe this cami that

I'm wearing is a few years old but I love it so much because it's so

versatile so I'll find one similar for you guys in the description below but I

like it because I have it in two different colors this one is just a

standard black one and I feel like it's just so perfect for tucking into pants

and then the pants that i'm wearing is actually from Jesse Kamm her ranger

pants I wear them as infrequently as I can but I end up wearing them like once

a week and I just think that they're so flattering I love them and they just

match everything they're also a cotton canvas which is awesome for fall because

it's not going to be too breathable it's going to keep you a lot warmer than a

lot of other fabrics I'm also wearing my mules by Nisolo I absolutely love my

mules because they're great also for like in between seasons where it might

be too warm yet for boots and yet still too cold for sandals so mules are like

the perfect shoe ever and I just love Nisolo for a lot of reasons and you

probably know that by now because I talk about them all the time so on top I'm

actually wearing this Madelyn kimono that my friend Morgan gave me and I love

it so much because it's warm and it's like a wool fabric so I love that I

think that the color is great because it matches a lot of different things and I

think it's just a really unique shape as a kimono it's definitely looser and I

feel like anybody could find a size like this because it so loose it just is

flattering on anybody so one more awesome thing about Morgan is that she's

actually on a mission to show a thousand pieces of clothing that are

responsibly made this year so that's awesome and she's also doing a pop-up

shop to highlight five brands that she believes are responsible companies so

what's great is she's giving 10 percent off during this virtual pop-up shop

to these five stores on your order and so she's actually given us in this

community a discount code of Bethany1000 where you can go and shop 10% off

at any of these five stores and so you can buy this this one is from Only Child

and I love that brand a lot being an only child I also really like the store

Betina Lou because they have like more of a 60s vibe and I've just been really

reaching toward the sixties in all of my vintage Etsy shopping and it's just been

so much fun and I think that the colors are great for fall as well all the

sixties colors are like in the browns and the navies and the oranges and stuff

and then I like to just have that mixing in with my neutrals so a couple other

things that I'm wearing today you guys is this nail polish that I got was

actually not the typical brand I wear or the typical color I wear I really

branched out and it's like this beautiful autumn color I don't

okay so it's called Headbang if you're interested but I just think that it was

really pretty when I saw it in the store and I still think it's kind of more of a

neutral tone so it's beautiful and it's perfect for fall I feel like it goes

with this outfit really well and the other thing that I'm wearing that I

again I just got this last night I think is so pretty is this beautiful lipstick

by Buxom I'm actually going to do a "get ready with me" with this lipstick in the

future but not today I will save a lot of those details for

later but I just really liked this one because it was moisturizing and I

actually had a very specific color in mind when I was shopping in Sephora and

I like to shop at Sephora and try on makeup because I feel like there's so

many times I want to try on makeup and I just can't do that when I'm shopping at

you know bigger stores so this one was beautiful and I'm serious I shopped for

like two hours trying to find this color and I found

I'm so happy so I love those two colors together between my nail polish and my

lipstick even though it is a bit more dramatic than I've been wearing other

than that you guys today I'm wearing my necklace that was in my favorites video

this is my friend Rachel at her shop is Windblown Jewelry and I love to wear her

piece and it just seems to go with just anything I have trouble not wearing this

every day and then I'm just wearing my a couple rings so my Nisolo thick hammered

band it's brass and so is this my stackable wedding rings they're not my

actual wedding band because it's too loose on me but I love wearing the brass

pieces right now and then as you can tell I've got a little bit more brass

which is my Soko bracelets my Soko bracelets are really cool because they

have like diamond shapes and they also seem they're also like hammered

so that's really pretty so I'm just kind of playing with textures today and I

like to wear more brass pieces to make things shine up a bit and not be too

dull because I do like to wear a lot of neutrals and darker colors other than

that I think I want to just have a little bit of fun today I really do want

to go get coffee today so that's on my to-do list and I hope that you have a

really great day today I'll see you guys bye

INCREDIBLE Fast Food Stories You Didn't Know From Around the World - Duration: 16:33.

As the old saying goes, you are what you eat.

Uh-Oh!

From Egg McMuffins to the first drive-through window,

fast food is an integral part of today's culture. Stay tuned to number one to find

out how many centuries ago fast food restaurants first started making their

mark on the world!

Number 10: Founding Fathers

The story of the founding fathers of the United

States is something we are all taught as children in school. George Washington,

Thomas Jefferson, and Alexander Hamilton risked their lives to create the United

States of America and are recognized today as the heroes they are. Just as

recognizable, however, whether it's fair or not, are the founders of some of

America's fast food restaurants. John Hancock gave us the Declaration of

Independence, but unfortunately he never gave us a side of fries and a coke with it!

Any discussion about fast food founders have to start with the Colonel

himself, Harland Sanders. Before coming the face and creator of Kentucky Fried

Chicken, young Sanders dropped out of school at the age of 12 and ran away

from home. Eventually he became an attorney, but was ultimately disbarred

after having a fistfight with a client in open court. This would not be Sanders

last time in front of a judge, as he would end up shooting a man in

self-defense who defaced a sign for a Shell station he was operating. After his

charges were dropped, Harland Sanders realized his potential when he turned

his gas station into a local restaurant, where he perfected his famous

combination of 11 herbs and spices for the original recipe.

Despite establishing 600 KFC franchise locations in less than 10 years, the

Colonel was broke, and forced to sell the chicken eatery for 2 million dollars,

while staying on as the face of the company and the brand. Before selling the

fast-food chain in 1964, Colonel Sanders came across to another future restaurant

founder who would ultimately help KFC become the massive company is today with

over 18,000 locations worldwide. Who was that man you ask? Dave Thomas! That's

right...the guy who created Wendy's. Thomas met Sanders during KFC's

expansion into Indiana. An eventual franchise owner,

Thomas helped Sanders improved the brand by simplifying the menu and suggesting

that Sanders appear in the commercials himself. Thomas eventually sold his share

in four franchises he owned for 1.5 million dollars in order to open his own

hamburger restaurant. This was named after his daughter, Melinda Lou "Wendy"

Thomas the restaurant was based on old fashioned hamburgers and classic shakes.

The first restaurant was opened in 1969, in Columbus, Ohio, and became known

for the eye-catching square burger patties which were implemented by Thomas,

himself, so the customers could see the quality of the meat. Today, Wendy's is the

third-largest hamburger restaurant chain with over 6,500 locations in 30

countries. Despite both Harland Sanders and Dave Thomas serving in the military,

neither man reached the rank of colonel. However, both man were awarded as

honorary Kentucky Colonels by the governor of the state. Altogether both

men have appeared in over 1,000 commercials and, technically, that's a

thousand more than both George Washington and John Adams combined!

Number 9: Can you hear me now?

Once called the "greatest invention in the history of mankind,"

well, by me anyway. The drive-through has helped modernize the

restaurant industry overall and changed our perception of fast-food. Before the

idea of the drive-through was thought up, many restaurants depended on sit-down

business or customers eating in their car, via car hops. This required a lot of

time and resources for many restaurants, and ran quite a few of them out of

business...including the early businesses run by the McDonald brothers.

It wasn't until 1947 that the world's first drive-through was created by

Sheldon Cheney, of Red's Giant Hamburg, a hamburger restaurant which was named

The Hamburg because Cheney ran out of room on his giant sign. It crafted the design

after customers began going to faster competitors. The idea was a major hit, and

soon being copied all over the country. While this would seem like a simple idea

today, keep in mind that the man who thought of it also attached magnets to

his soda fountains to magically enhance the flavor. Yeah...that's who

revolutionized the fast-food industry. Today, the drive-thru represents 60% of

all fast-food orders taken. The oldest drive-through restaurants still open

today are In-N-Out Burger as Reds giant Hamburg has been closed for 35

years. Sounds like those magnets didn't help attract new customers! See what I

did there?

Number 8: America's favorite food

Bread is boring. You know it and I know it.

Bread is so boring in fact the man has found new and inventive ways to

make it better for centuries. Adding herbs, oils, vegetables,

meat, and whatever other flavor, has made bread a staple of our diet. However,

perfection was eventually achieved in the heart of Italy with man's greatest

invention...Pizza! Originally invented in 18th century in Naples, Italy, pizza was

a street food that was meant for those with little money. It was cheap and easy

to make. Many Europeans were initially hesitant to eat pizza because of the

addition of tomatoes, which was not native to the continent and actually

thought to be poisonous for over 200 years by its wealthier citizens.

Actually, I know a few people who still think they're poisonous today! The pizza

industry is worth over 700 billion dollars, worldwide. Americans especially

love pizza, as they eat 100 acres of pizza every year! Or 350 slices of pizza

every second. The math behind this country's love of peace is almost

unbelievable. Domino's Pizza, the world's largest pizza delivery chain, will sell 4

million pies alone on Super Bowl Sunday. Combined with their main competitor,

Pizza Hut, they will purchase six percent of all mozzarella cheese sold in the

United States. That's one in every twenty milk cows being dedicated strictly to

those two companies. Wow! I think I need an antacid.

Number 7: Famous advertising campaigns.

Every day, Americans are exposed to marketing and

advertisements meant to send us a message. Buy this, save that, vote this,

watch that...we are exposed to upwards of a thousand advertising messages every

day through television, the internet, and billboards. However, nobody does it better

than the fast food industry. In 2015, almost 6 billion dollars were spent on

marketing by restaurant chains such as Taco Bel, Burger King, and Subway. Every

year we are introduced to new multi-million dollar marketing campaigns,

giving us money makers like "Where's the beef?" and "Finger Lickin' Good," however

no conversation about fast food advertising can be had without introducing

the Clown Prince himself...that's right... Ronald McDonald. This iconic character

was first introduced in 1963 and was portrayed by the Today Show's own

Scott Willard. Originally named Ronald McDonald, The Happy Clown, this future

idol was actually created without any input from the McDonald's Corporation. This

grew into the mascot we know today who, according to one study, is recognized by

96% of all schoolchildren in the United States.

Now remember McDonald's...just because you gave us a burger pushing clown, we

still don't forgive you for the McSpaghetti!

Number 6: You look very familiar.

Fast food has long been stereotyped in the United States by the typical startup job

for young adults. Well this is not statistically supported, as the average

age of fast-food employees is 29 years old, you may still remember a famous face

or two that once asked if you wanted to supersize. From the world of

finance and telecom, to music and film, there's a who's who list of powerful

people who started their careers out with a McJob, using the lessons they

learned to reach new heights. This was the case for the current titleholder of the

world's richest man, Jeff Bezos. The Amazon CEO started his

multibillion-dollar Empire as a grill man in McDonald's, earning minimum wage

it was here that he learned about hard work, responsibility, and the age-old

lesson to never let failure slow you down. Madonna and Queen Latifah both

worked front counters at Dunkin Donuts and Burger King respectively. Even

Academy Award nominated actor Brad Pitt put in his time in the fast food

industry, by handing out flyers in a giant chicken outfit for an El Pollo Loco

in Hollywood. This hardly seems fitting for someone voted the world's sexiest

man in 1995 and 2000. Do you need any more examples of our best and most

beautiful learning important lessons in responsibility and diligence? How about

Barack Obama? That's right...the 44th President of the United States had a job

as a teenager in a Honolulu Hawaii location of Baskin-Robbins. After

beginning his political career, the then senator reminisced that he had no idea

how hard it was going to be to work at an ice cream shop, but he says he carried

those lessons with him to Washington. perhaps we've discovered the key to

getting politicians to work together. Banana splits for everyone!

Number 5: Let's get it started.

Every day, 50 million people are served

fast food from 160,000 locations all over the country. Despite being behemoth

companies now, almost every fast-food restaurant today got its start as an

underdog trying to show how delicious their new ideas were. Many even causing

their owners and founders to go broke before eventually changing the way we

all eat. White Castle, for example, the world's first fast-food

hamburger restaurant, opened in 1921 from $700 of borrowed money today there

are 420 White Castle locations with a net revenue of over 600 million dollars!

Papa John started his future pizza empire in the broom closet of his father's Indiana

tavern, getting his startup money by selling his car for only $1,600. That

gamble resulted in a worldwide Empire of 4,700 locations, becoming the official

pizza sponsor of the NFL and, most importantly, getting to meet Peyton

Manning! Clearly that's what's most important!

Number 4: Ladies and gentlemen of the jury.

Lady Justice is one of the most important symbols in our

country, as she stands for balance, authority, and impartiality. This has

brought the idea that everybody is treated fair and equally in a court of

law. Then the hot coffee lawsuit came around and things didn't seem so fair.

When all was said and done, the infamous hot coffee lawsuit (also known as Liebeck

versus McDonald's restaurants) has long been mocked by the people of the United

States. The back story is a woman spilled coffee, like we all do, and filed suit

against the largest fast-food restaurant chain in the world. She was awarded 2.86

million dollars, and became the target of scorn from almost every American...even

being spoofed by a Seinfeld episode! But, how much do we actually know about

this famous case? In 1992, 79 year old Stella Liebeck

had joined her grandson for a 49 cent coffee through the McDonald's

drive-through. The coffee cup, that she admitted was her fault for spilling, was

at an unbelievable temperature of 190 degrees Fahrenheit when it left the

window! This was so hot it it caused third-degree burns to 16% of her body,

including her buttocks, her thighs, and she ended up in the hospital for eight

days...which required major surgery and she almost died.

Hmm. Maybe we should all feel a little guilty! Well McDonald's didn't. When Stella

was left with over $20,000 in medical bills, she asked the fast food chain to simply

help pay. Their response? An $800 settlement offer. When this case

eventually went to trial, the jury awarded Stella

only two days worth of McDonald's coffee sales as payment. The ensuing reaction

against Stella that followed, though, was a carefully crafted marketing plan,

brought about by the McD's legal team in order to make her seem like a money

hungry scammer. And it worked! Congressman even introduced legislation

to keep this kind of lawsuit from happening again, all thanks to lobbying

from industry leaders. At times like this, I think Lady Justice may feel just a

little sick to her stomach.

Number 3: Tthe most important meal of the day.

Every morning, we wake up and start our day with a balanced breakfast. To help

provide the energy we'll need, favorites like eggs, bacon, and orange juice have

become commonplace on our tables. But, you know what would go really great with

that balanced meal? Make those items bite-sized and smoosh them between two

maple syrup flavored buns, branded with a McDonald's logo! That probably woulda

sounded unappetizing just a decade ago but today, this and other similar

breakfast items account for 25% of all McDonald's sales. This originally started

after the development of the Egg McMuffin, which was created by a

franchise owner in Santa Barbara, California in 1972. With the success of

the overall breakfast menu for the corporate giant, many other fast-food

chains have followed suit. Taco Bell, with their kidney-shattering

breakfast taco, has increased sales by 10 percent through breakfast alone since

starting the service in 2014. With other restaurants, such as Wendy's,

Jack-in-the-Box, and Burger King also waking up earlier, fast food chains are

expected to serve upwards of 30% of Americans at least once a week. The

convenience is great, but let's just assume your physician may not be pleased

when you tell him where you finally started eating breakfast!

Number 2: Kids are our future.

"Children are our most valuable resource." This famous quote,

originally stated by president Herbert Hoover, has long been a repeated

war cry of many successful politicians including John F Kennedy and George W

Bush. Well, this has also become the business model for the entire fast-food

industry, Originally starting with Ronald McDonald, the fast-food giant saw

the genius in marketing to children. This McBlitzkrieg on the mind of children

was highlighted in the introduction of the legendary happy meal in 1979. Created

by a franchise owner, in Guatemala, in the mid-1970s as the "Menu Ronald," this toy

free meal was meant to feed children more efficiently in the South American

nation. Once this idea hit corporate executives in Chicago, however, it was not

long before the first fast food menu item conceived specifically for children

was in McDonald's locations all over the United States. The mainstay toy would

follow suit shortly. This concept helped change family dining forever.

in 1989, the concept of playgrounds inside the restaurant was implemented

after the success of fellow kid friendly chain, Chucky Cheese. And, clearly, this

system has been a rounding success as 30 to 39 percent of all

children are expected to eat fast food on any given day!

Number 1: Looking towards the future.

Since the opening of the first All Night Noodle stands in

ancient China occurred around 25 AD, the fast-food industry has certainly changed

and evolved with time. Today, it is Americana personified, and a way of life

affecting almost every person in the country in one way or another. But, if

this list has taught us anything, it's that the version of convenient dining

that people knew in the 1950s is completely different from today. So, what

does that mean for the future? Currently Americans spend over 100 billion dollars

every year on fast food. Surprisingly, that is enough money to end world hunger

for years! With advanced studies in medicine and nutrition, it is common

knowledge that fast food is bad for you and should rarely be eaten. This

information has led to the introduction of many new menu items such as salads,

yogurts, and smaller drink sizes that are marketed as "healthy choices." However

the fact is that a salad at Burger King actually has more sugar than some sodas!

And Pizza Hut was the largest buyer of Kale, simply to use it as an interior

decoration. Regardless, many American see these as positive steps forward.

Perhaps people will shift in a different direction such as with restaurants like

Chipotle, Qdoba Mexican Grill, and Baja Fresh, these chains (labeled as fast

casual dining) have exploded in popularity in the last decade.

These restaurants have given diners a different choice of where to

eat, while offering simple menus, made with little to no chemicals, and being

cooked right in front of the customers. With over 2,000 locations and 3.9

billion revenue annually, perhaps Chipotle and similar eateries are

the future. Or, perhaps, we'll just invent flying cars to make the drive-through faster!

Digital Marketing Testimonial: Amerinet | Clix - Duration: 4:34.

Hi, My name is Kelly Wisness.

I'm the senior director of digital strategy at Amerinet.

As a digital marketer, if you're looking for a digital marketing agency, you really should

consider the Clix Group.

They make my life easier in so many ways.

I would recommend the Clix Group for a lot of different reasons.

They stay up to date on all the SEO trends.

They're just a great group of people.

Very collaborative, they have great ideas and they are very knowledgable about the different

areas of digital marketing.

I always feel important, and I know they've grown over the years, but every time I call

them, every time I email them, because of the responsiveness and because they know

my business so well, I feel like I'm their only client.

I've been working with the Clix Group for around three years now- two years in a previous

role at another company and for about a year here at Amerinet, and really decided to bring

them on board here because I was so pleased with the results we were able to achieve in

my previous role and knew they would do a great job for me here at Amerinet.

When I first met with them and they didn't know the business, they were willing to, you

know, listen to phone conversations, learn all that they could about the business.

They didn't just want the business, they wanted to learn about my business.

They wanted to learn about how they could really make this successful.

And through the years, they continue to do that and they continue to be vested in the

success of the company that I'm at.

One of the biggest benefits of working with the Clix Group is that they really care about

your success.

They don't just talk about your success, they are your partner.

They want you to succeed, and so your success is their success.

And that's really evident by the collaboration and everything that they do for you.

When I first came to Amerinet and started tackling the corporate website, there were

a lot of issues with it and that's one of the biggest reasons why I brought on the Clix

Group because I knew I needed help to make this a successful website.

So, the site was not optimized at all.

The navigation was not great.

It needed a lot of help, and I was able to get them on board pretty quickly and start

brainstorming about ideas on how we could really improve this site, and not only improve

the rankings, but make it a better site for the user overall.

They keep track of all of the trends: what's good, what's bad, and they're the first ones

to step up and say, "We should be doing this, we shouldn't be doing that," and providing

great ideas that we can execute on and then seeing some results from those ideas.

Whenever I reach out to them about additional projects, such as helping us redesign our

blog, or creating a new microsite for us, I know that I can rely on them to produce

great results in the time frame that we originally agreed upon.

I don't have to worry about the project.

I know it's going to get done and I know it's going to be great.

Since we started working with the Clix Group, our rankings have really improved and we're

seeing that in an increase in traffic to our site, which has had double digit growth since

we've started working together.

We've heard from customers and employees, anyone who uses the site, that it's so much

easier to use, so much easier to find, and that really speaks to the work that the Clix

Group has done.

One of the great things about the Clix Group is that they not only respond to my requests

very quickly when it's something very small, like changing something on a website or helping

me do something, but they also care on a very large scale.

They care about the overall strategy that we have at Amerinet.

They care about not only getting us on the front page, but they care about the company

looking good, and I really appreciate that.

They are so collaborative.

They are all very responsive to your needs and I know from the top down that I'm important.

It's not just about the tactics but they get involved in the strategy as well.

They're a great partner.

They'll be the partner you need to achieve success in all things digital marketing related.
