Well you know it's interesting. You know, people say to me,

"Do you have a five year plan?" And I say, "No, I have a five minute plan."

Whether it was a five year or five minute plan, this journey takes us back more than 70 years.

So let's reverse to the very beginning.

John Hegarty was born in London in 1944.

His father was Irish, something he says made him a bit of an outsider… and an observer.

Those skills led him toward art, but it was advertising that won him over.

I wanted to be a painter so I went to art school.

From art school I went to design school and whilst I was at design school, I discovered

there was this wonderful thing called advertising because I loved ideas.

And I was shown the work of Doyle Dane Bernbach, back then they were doing great stuff.

And it just completely turned me on to the idea of advertising.

It was the way Bernbach was using ideas and how he was doing stuff

that was intelligent, smart, witty but yet also inclusive.

So you were inspired by the creative side-

I was inspired totally by it and at that moment at design school

I decided to create an advertising portfolio and got a job in advertising.

Was that hard in the day? Were there jobs available?

Well there was actually - I have to say, it was a lot easier than it is now.

Hegarty's first job in advertising came from Benton and Bowles, a big New York-based agency.

But it wasn't his only choice.

I was offered two jobs and one of them was at Y&R and the other was at Benton and Bowles

and I said to a friend of mine: "Which one should I take?"

And I said: "You know, the Benton and Bowles one is paying half what the Y&R job is."

The friend of mine said: "John, the thing is that Benton and Bowles has this new brilliant

New York art director coming over, that's going to be an opportunity, I'd go there."

So I went to Benton and Bowles.

So the first lesson I learned was don't chase the money, chase the opportunity.

Hegarty's opportunity came in the form of getting to work with a young Charles Saatchi.

After several successful collaborations, he eventually joined him

as a founding shareholder of Saatchi & Saatchi.

The creative director walks into my office.

Well, I didn't have an office, I had a space.

And said to me: "Now, I've found a writer you to work with."

And I said: "Oh, what's his name?"

And he said, "Charles Saatchi."

And I went, "Oh, brilliant.".

That's a name everybody knows.

That's a name everybody knows.

So Charlie and I started working together. So that's the point,

my first big, in a way, break was working with Charlie.

We had a fantastic team together and we did some great stuff.

Was Charlie a creative genius right back then?

He was pretty damn good actually, I have to say.

I think we made a great team, obviously. But we both learned off each other.

I was an art director, he was a writer.

So you worked closely together from the very beginning?

Yeah, and then when he went off to set his own agency up in 1970,

he asked me to go and join him as a partner in that.

After three years with Saatchi and Saatchi, Hegarty co-founded advertising agency TBWA

in London, where he served as Creative Director.

I loved working with Charlie, I thought he was fantastic, but in the end, it was always

going to be his gig and quite rightly, he founded it, why shouldn't it be?

And so I thought I want to make my own mark, I want to do things my way

because I have a slightly different point of view.

What were the differences, do you think?

Charlie would take any opportunity, which is great.

But, you know, sometimes he was taking opportunities that were compromising creativity

and I wasn't happy with that but you know that was his right, that was the business he wanted to run.

After nearly a decade with TBWA, Hegerty was ready for something new,

founding ad agency Bartle Bogle Hegarty with colleagues John Bartle and Nigel Bogle.

We kind of felt we could do it differently, we could do it better.

There was an opportunity we thought to create a really wonderful agency

that was based on not just creativity but brilliant strategy.

So did you have an almost start-up mentality when you began the business?

Oh yeah, I was doing so many start-ups, working with Charlie was a startup,

working at TBWA was a startup, BBH was a start-up.

So we had a lot of experience in how you get an agency or business going.

Hegarty decided to put all of that start-up knowledge to good use

by launching his own incubator, The Garage Soho in 2014.

I was beginning to sort of have to exit from BBH and hand on to the next generation.

I'm still part of them but you're not actively working on the business

and I started with an old friend of mine investing in companies

and we suddenly thought: "Hey, why don't we do this for real?"

We both have an opportunity to set up an early stage investment company, let's do it."

So in 2014, we set up The Garage in Soho - the Garage because that's where good ideas start.

Right.

And we've now got something like 28 companies going.

The wonderful thing about advertising is, this is what I always say to people, is that

it's a great industry for teaching you how to do so many other things.

So people haven't had the experience I've had in sitting in business meetings for 30, 40, 50 years

listening to people talk about business problems, what they will do to solve them

and although I was the creative guy in the meeting, I was hearing all of these conversations

and so you're picking up amazing tips, it's like a sort of - you've been to Harvard Business School times 20,

and it was just brilliant, absolutely brilliant.

SquidWeb: Warnings - Duration: 5:00.

Warnings can be sent from SquidWeb to prompt clients to pay overdue invoices.

Overdue invoices are marked in the invoice list payment column.

Yellow markers indicated which warning level an invoice is currently at.

Blinking markers indicate warnings that are due to be sent.

Solid yellow markers indicate warnings that have already been sent.

Warnings can be access directly from the action menu.

PDF reports are automatically generated in the language of the client.

Visit the invoices list wiki for further details on payment status.

Warnings are defined by two parts of company settings.

Claim management allows you to choose the default sending method

and set the default time between due dates.

"2nd due date after - 20" represents the 2nd warning to be due 20 days after original invoice date.

These settings may be modified in a contact's claim management.

Warning report templates are chosen in the warnings section,

users may upload a PDF or use SquidWeb's default template for all languages.

Any additional late fees are also defined in the Warning section.

Finally, a company warning address may be added as default sender.

The warnings filter is available in the invoice list container menu.

"Any due date" displays all invoices that still require a warning to be sent.

The list may also be filtered by warnings or due dates.

The 4th and 5th due dates are reserved for legal action.

The action menu displays the due dates and allows access to the reports.

The report will be generated in the same language as the contact,

but other language templates, will also be available from the menu.

A warning will be sent from the accounting address defined in company settings,

and a copy sent to the same address via cc for accounting records.

The destination will be the address assigned to the contact's claim management.

Once released, the warning is logged in the activities container.

A PDF of the warning is also created

and saved in the invoice documents container.

This too is logged.

A LogNote is optional but not required if users have only one default payment method.

The next due warning of an invoice is always available in the action menu.

Users may send the warning directly to the contact from here.

The LogNote and PDF are also created from this method.

If an invoice has been settled, it may be marked as paid.

Paid invoices are marked with a green point in the payment column.

Monopolistic competition - short-run supernormal profits - Duration: 2:14.

In this video we'll take a closer look at firms in monopolistically competitive markets.

The focus will be on firms earning supernormal profits in the short-run and understanding

why they cannot maintain them in the long-run.

To understand why let's look at a sample firm.

Imagine a firm produces dishwashing liquid and decides to expand its product offering

and launches a new blueberry washing liquid.

The product is an instant hit with consumers and demand levels are so high that the firm

starts to earn a supernormal profit.

Here's what that would look like in the short-run.

We lay out demand and marginal revenue as before but something unique happens here.

The profit maximising level of output Q* results in a price that is higher than the average

cost at this point.

The result is total revenue which is greater than total costs.

This allows the firm to earn supernormal profit.

BUT…that's not the end of the story.

Remember there are low barriers to entry in monopolistically competitive markets so other

firms would be lured in by the supernormal profits being earned.

This is the previous firm's costs and revenue diagram.

As new firms enter the market, the demand for this firm's products will fall.

This is because its customers are now taking their business elsewhere, causing this specific

firm to face a fall in demand.

What will happen next is that demand will keep falling until the firm is earning normal

profit.

We hold our costs constant and adjust demand only.

As the firm is now earning normal profit, entering the market is no longer attractive.

At this point, the firm can continue to sell the product but does not earn any supernormal

profit.

That wraps up this video on monopolistically competitive firms earning supernormal profits

in the short-run.

You should understand why a firm in this structure cannot maintain supernormal profits and also

be familiar with how to draw both short-run and long-run equilibrium.

Jeśli jest niewłaściwie przechowywana, rukola "lubi" szybko więdnąć a nawet zgnić. Powinna mieć nieco wilgoci i chłód. Wyjmij rukolę z opakowania i umyj. Odsącz nadmiar wody na ręczniku kuchennym.

Plastikowe pudełko wyłóż papierowym ręcznikiem, włóż listki, nakryj kawałkiem ręcznika i skrop go wodą. Zamknij pudełko, schowaj do lodówki (do szuflady na warzywa i owoce). Tak przygotowana może leżeć pięć-sześć dni. 

Nasza rada: Po dwóch-trzech dniach otwórz pudełko i sprawdź, czy papier, który ją nakrywa, nadal jest wilgotny. Jeśli nie, zwilż go.

It's a wonderful entertaining property . . . you've got these terraces and

patios that all have these extraordinary views of the garden and onto the

snow-capped mountains in the south and there's a sort of a covered barbecue,

alfresco dining area that we had lunch at today which was lovely.

The owners really care about the environment. It's really important to them and when

they were organising their water treatment system they researched it

thoroughly and they found a system that is actually treated by air and by

plants so in fact there's no chemicals and it actually looks like a reed bed so

it's very eco-friendly.

This property... because it's been renovated extensively... feels old and has

a lot of the old-world charm with old beams and stone features. However it's

modern and so you've got the old features and yet it really feels like a

modern home too, in terms of the way you live in it and it has a wonderful floor plan

- a very comfortable floor plan. But I have to say one of the things that really

struck me is the owners here chose to do a thick plank,

two centimetre French oak floor which looks absolutely stunning -

it's one of the marks of authenticity - it kind of shows that they

have really done things layer by layer with a great deal of care and quality.

I suspect that whoever does buy this

property that they will have a beautiful vehicle and they'll

appreciate the fact that there are two enclosed the garages where they can put

something special like that.

If I was to sum it up I would say: proximity to the airport - just 45 minutes

- 90 minutes to the ski slopes - a tranquil quiet private location -

6 hectares of land but only probably about one and a half hectares really needing any maintenance.

You get quite a lot of land - a turnkey property ready to move in right away.

For me . .. a wine cellar - I love the wine cellar!

A big kitchen where you can entertain - fantastic terraces outdoors and alfresco

dining area - just a comfortable home at a luxury farmhouse that's been renovated

and is ready to move into....

This is the piece before we put it on. We always start from a rectangular base

which will then come to line up with the piece.

It's just the hood. One design per body part.

On the Aventador, there are 40 parts. On a normal car, there are 10.

40 rectangles of this size?

Some are even bigger! Some are smaller.

There are some that are 3 meters long.

We are putting the wrap on the backside.

It must be aligned perfectly with the door.

The car is very complex.

You can't do the entire side at once on the Aventador.

We must align the foil to the millimeter, for a perfect result.

If you look at the car, it shouldn't look like the parts were wrapped separately.

Once we find the perfect placement, we add markers.

Then we put the rear wing and all the side will be placed.

All that's left are the side skirts and the details.

Weird as it sounds, there may be some truth to the term, "creative juices..."

And I'm not talking Crossfit, Zumba, or Milly rocking on every block.

Lighter exercise like walking can help you get some BDNF in your system.

BDNF is integral to processes of learning and memory,

and if you need more proof that it's important, there's significant evidence that

Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, and Huntington's Disease patients

have less BDNF in their brains.

So getting those levels up early in life could help stave off those neurodegenerative diseases.

Write a little, walk a little.

If you get blocked, take a walk.

If the juices ain't flowing, get up and get going.

Honestly, what am I doing here?

I should be writing science mixtapes and selling them in Times Square.

There's so much scrutiny from so many people into our lives, increased exponentially by social media,

that it could be doing damage to our mental health, increasing psychosocial stress.

All of that in turn affects our depression and anxiety.

But, that damage isn't irreparable.

Changing small things about your mindset and routine can affect you on a neurological level,

a.k.a. "neuroplasticity."

Neuroplasticity is exactly what it sounds like: neuro, "brain" and plasticity, "flexible."

In this case, it means that our brains have the ability to change and adapt

in response to our environment.

We can help alleviate these symptoms of depression, anxiety, and psychosocial stress

by changing small things in our routine.

It doesn't have to be a reboot of your entire life - #NewYearNewMe;

it could be a small change that makes things better...

#NewYearSameMeButILikeChangedSomeStuff...?

That's clunky, we gotta fix that in post.

Hop off social media for a while. Take a trip.

Change your work environment.

Cut that messy friend who talks all kinds of trash out of your life,

or stop being that friend.

All of these things will not only positively affect your physical health,

like your heart and immune functions, but also your psychological health.

I realize that there's extenuating circumstances to getting enough sleep:

work and family stuff, being a college student trying to survive in a capitalist society, et cetera.

But important things happen in your brain when you're asleep.

First, cerebrospinal fluid is cleaning toxins out of your brain while you sleep.

The more time asleep, the more thorough that cleaning can be.

Second, it preserves and encodes our memories in our hippocampus,

in turn helping us keep track of our day, the next day's agenda, and who owes us money

(Steve, I know you saw the Venmo charge, so text me back).

Third, it solidifies new information we've learned over the last day.

This especially goes out to all my people still in school – you've learned so much information

in your last day of classes; just go to sleep to help remember it,

stop playing FIFA, Fortnite, and 2K all night (yeah, I was you once, I know what you're doing).

These are small tips that have science to back them up.

Try all of these for a month and track your progress.

it's pretty hot at the moment so me and Ragsy are here in the summer house to

try and cool off and bring you this week's vlog now this week I'm going to

be telling you some facts about fostering cats now a lot of people like

to foster cats for many different reasons and some people don't even know

what it means so I'm going to give you some facts and some tips about if you're

thinking about fostering first of all what is fostering well fostering is

giving a homeless cat a temporary home until they find their forever home it

might be that the shelter they are at is overbooked and they have no more room

at the inn now this is really important as you have the chance to rehabilitate a cat

and in turn means that they are much more likely to be adopted fostering cats

also frees up space to a shelter so that they can rescue more animals but fostering

also helps with a cat who may not do well in environments such as a shelter

so one with multiple animals or too much noise or too much stress it's a win-win

that sort of situation really number two fostering won't cost you a penny in

most cases if not all the shelter that you're fostering from will cover all

costs in when it comes to your looking after the cat so that means food a

litter tray toys even any medical expenses or anything that they need to

get done at the vet and also transportation well obviously if you

have a cat you're fostering of a few cats you're fostering and you want to

spoil them rotten with toys and treats obviously you can go ahead and do that

but any costs that you incur with fostering an animal it is completely

covered by the shelter so that again is a great thumbs up for fostering a cat

number three it is a good practice so if you are umming and ahhing about getting a

forever pet why not try fostering one not only will this help a shelter out

but it can help you get some experience as a pet owner now this will help you

make a decision if you could commit long-term to a forever cat or if it's

something that you're not sure you're ready for number four fostering it gives

a special needs kitties a chance now there are a few cats in shelters and

quite often people who do foster cats do tend to go towards cats with special

needs or who have had some sort of injury trauma or surgery now a lot of

these cats need extra care extra attention and someone to give them

medication on a regular basis now shelters are absolutely fantastic but if

they are overrun or they are very particular busy they might not have the

time or all the resources to dedicate to that one special cat quite often cats and

kittens who do have special needs are the last to get adopted so a lot of people

who foster full-time do tend to gravitate towards cats who have special needs not

only is this beneficial to the cats they get all the care and attention that they

need but it can be so so rewarding as well and finally almost anyone can

foster now if you are of an adult age or you are a family

you can almost certainly foster if you are an adult or a family you have space

the time the patience and the passion to look after a cat either short-term or

long-term then you can foster a cat there is no upper age limit on fostering

an animal and you can do it on and many of your own terms so you can foster on a

short-term basis a long-term basis multiple cats and a mother cat with

kittens or even a senior kitty-zen there are fostering options to accommodate

almost every setup so if you have any questions regarding that just ask your

Van Mahotsav is a week-long festival celebrated in India.

This festival is usually celebrated between 1st July to 7th July.

It was started in 1950, by

The Union Minister for Agriculture and Food Dr. K M Munshi

The main objective behind starting this movement was to create awareness among people

About planting trees and conserving forests.

He wanted people to participate wholeheartedly

and wanted this event to be considered as a festival

Come let's know the objective of Van Mahotsav

Dr. Munshi wanted to fulfill objectives such as:

Increase production of fruits.

Help create shelter belts around agricultural fields.

Animals get food.

Boost soil conservation and to Prevent further deterioration of soil.

History of Van Mahotsav

Interestingly, the term Van Mahotsav originated in July 1947

After a successful tree plantation drive that was held in Delhi

and saw national leaders like Abdul Kalam Azad

Jawaharlal Nehru

and Dr Rajendra Prasad participate in it.

As a part of Van Mahotsav celebration, afforestation drives are conducted across India.

In the last few years,

We have been cutting trees ruthlessly in the name of urbanization.

In-fact

According to a report by the Ministry of Environment and Forests,

That total 24.16% forest area are reaming in India.

This campaign helps create awareness about benefits of trees and the harm caused by cutting them.

and motivate them to come up and plant more trees.

Global Warming is a major issue

and we have to solve it now.

Festivals such as Van Mahotsav are the need of the hour! Van Mahotsav will help solve this issue.

How is the Van Mahotsav celebrated?

In India Van Mahotsav is celebrated in first week of July

As monsoon in India usually begins in the first week of July,

and also tree have a high survival rate.

In Van Mahotsav Native trees are planted

Because they have high survival rate than other plants

It is also believed that Native Trees support birds, injections and animals

During Van Mohotsav Civic Bodies and State Governments

Supply plants to schools, colleges and academic institutions, NGOs and welfare organizations

I'm going to be making a treat as a meal substitution

I'm really into tofu cream these days

So I thought I'd make a tofu cream dessert

Since it's going to be a cream, I'll start by blending

It's going to be sort of a tofu nutella type of dessert

Soak hazelnuts overnight. It's going to really give that nutella flavor

Into that, add sugar free cocoa powder

and maple syrup as much as you want

Blend it with almond milk so it grinds more smoothly

If you aren't satisfied with the chocolate flavor,

feel free to add dark chocolate

I'll be boiling it once so I can store it for later

Doing this helps getting rid of the tofu odor

Try tasting it and if any flavor is missing, feel free to add it

Vanilla extract or any other spices will do.

Since the cream itself won't be sufficient,

I'll try making a bread with a microwave :)

Pour in whole wheat flour into a bowl

About 3 spoon or so.

Add in a bit of baking powder and mix them well

And why not put some maple syrup for some sweetness

Into that, I added a small amount of coconut oil

Stir up the dough with almond milk

Based on your preference, add vanilla extract, cinnamon or anything else.

Cocoa powder, green tea, black tea powder will all go well.

2 min in a 1000W microwave will do

Although it's not as good as an oven baked bread,

it's still moist on the bottom

and suitable for a simple treat

It's a bit dry or too chewy

but you get to stay cooler by not turning on the oven

and it takes you less than 5 min :)

Tofu cream only lasts about a week

but having them once in a while is really a treat

It also helps with cravings!

Well, I made it.

23rd of June 2018 Mount Manaia sunrise.

I've wanted to do this since I've lived in Whangarei.

...and I wanted to wait for a solstice or a special day and it was so close to Matariki

and if you're going to pick a sunrise,

pick the one latest in the morning

...and in this case it is just about 7:30.

I'll just do a quick...

here we go, I'll turn it around while I'm doing it, um...

yeah...this *oh there goes the light change* is part of the mountain....

and back that way, is Whangarei.

I've got to watch my step here because, it's a cliff, and it's just....just there.

Matariki...Matariki is all about ancestors and letting go of the past,

and embracing the future, and

I can't think of a better time to be here.

There's my partner...

And here we are again on the sunrise if I can...there we go.
