Top 10 Outrageous Burger King Scandals - Duration: 12:19.
In 1953, Burger King opened its doors, under the name Insta-Burger King.
Fast forward over 50 years to the end of 2010, when a big company in Brazil, called 3G Capital,
bought a majority stake in the business.
The deal cost a whopping 3.26 billion bucks.
Throughout the years, this popular fast food restaurant chain has had its ups and downs.
It's the home of the Whopper, which is a good thing, but it's also been the subject of some
truly outrageous scandals.
Now and then Burger King has gotten some negative press so let's check out the top 10 Burger
King scandals.
Horse Meat Whoppers In The UK
Horses are beautiful animals and it's safe to say that Burger King customers don't expect
horse meat in their Whoppers.
That's why the alleged presence of horse meat in Burger King burgers in the UK caused such
a huge scandal.
During 2013, the fast food chain's reps reported that very small amounts of DNA from horses
were discovered within one of the plants of a supplier.
Burger King stopped using that supplier right away, just to be on the safe side.
BK representatives said that there wasn't any DNA from horses in its food items though.
Unfortunately, a media outlet with a shady reputation, known as Before It's News, implied
that Burger King was selling burgers that did contain horse meat.
It looks like this particular scandal was a tempest in a teapot.
Before It's News exaggerated the situation and alarmed Burger King customers.
These types of trumped-up hoaxes do happen now and then after all.
Basically, there was no real proof that Burger King was peddling horse meat at its UK fast
food locations.
When these types of stories start circulating though, it means bad press for companies.
There's always the possibility that the UK meat supplier, Silvercrest, did supply
Burger King with meat that contained some horse meat, but we'll never know for sure.
Burger King certainly didn't request meat with equine DNA, so the fault lay with Silvercrest.
Burger King did move fast to cut ties with the supplier, in order to ensure the quality
and purity of its burgers.
The Black Halloween Whopper
When Burger King introduced the black Halloween Whopper in 2015, it seemed like a great marketing
gambit.
The burger had a spooky black bun and apparently tasted really good.
This promotion was just picking up steam when customers who ate Halloween Whoppers started
noticing that their poop was turning green.
And this was because a lot of food coloring was used to turn the burger buns black.
When the food coloring combined with other substances in the digestive tract, the end
result was green bowel movements.
The food coloring was food-safe, so this strange phenomenon wasn't harmful in any way.
It was just unusual, and kind of ruined the whole Halloween Whopper promotion.
After the green poop scandal, Burger King moved on.
In October of 2018, it celebrated the Halloween season by introducing an exciting new whopper
that promised to deliver extra nightmares.
Nightmares weren't guaranteed, but there would be a higher likelihood of bad dreams after
scarfing Burger King Nightmare Burgers.
This burger featured a green bun, bacon, crispy chicken, a burger made from ground beef, mayo
and American cheese.
Test subjects who ate these burgers and then participated in sleep studies were 3.5 times
more likely to have nightmares.
Test subjects had some freaky dreams about people turning into snakes and attacks by
angry, violent aliens.
The Burger King Croissan'wich Scandal
Burger King went low during its famous Croissan'wich coupon scandal.
During a special promotion, customers were promised a great deal on Croissan'wiches,
as long as they had valid coupons.
The problem was, the coupons featured a higher retail price for the croissant sandwiches.
People noticed that they could buy Croissan'wiches for less money without the coupon.
When they used the coupon, they paid more for each sandwich.
The scandal resulted in a class action lawsuit that was settled during 2017.
A woman noticed the price issue when she used a "buy one, get one free" voucher to get a
couple of Croissan'wiches.
With the "buy one, get one free" promotion, she paid three dollars and nineteen cents
for a sandwich with cheese, egg and sausage and got the second one for free.
When she went back to the fast food counter to buy a single sandwich, without a coupon,
she paid only two dollars and sixteen cents.
Burger King was apparently jacking up the price of the BOGO Croissan'wich, so it wouldn't
take such a hit financially for the "two for one" promotion.
Thanks to the lawsuit, people who felt ripped off did have some recourse.
They were able to file for refunds until late January 2018.
It does seem like Burger King really goofed with this promotion.
If they hadn't, they wouldn't have had to issue gift cards for Burger King food to customers
who participated in the BOGO coupon deal.
This scandal damaged the fast food chain's reputation something bad.
The Unfriending Special Promotion
233,906 people were willing to unfriend people on social media in order to get free Whoppers.
This hilarious, but mean-spirited special promotion was known as the Whopper Sacrifice.
Would you ditch buddies on social media for the sake of a juicy free burger?
Many people did make this choice.
Facebook had to shut down the Whopper Sacrifice promotion after just ten days.
Burger King definitely got a lot of publicity from this scandal.
With the Whopper Sacrifice app, the people who were unfriended for free fast food actually
got notified of what happened.
This was pretty crass and probably part of the reason why Facebook cracked down on the
promotion.
The promotion required the unfriending of ten people to get one free Whopper.
23,000 free Whopper coupons were doled out during the Whopper Sacrifice.
The promotion was shut down during the middle of January in 2009.
Facebook claimed that privacy concerns for its users was the reason why the de-friending
app was eliminated.
This special promotion had so much attitude.
Sure, it was a scandal, but a lot of people loved it.
It set Burger King apart as an edgier type of fast food chain.
The promotion was definitely darkly humorous and many people who used the app had no issues
with pruning their friends lists for the sake of freebies.
The German Burger King Hygiene Scandal
This scandal erupted in 2014 and definitely hurt Burger King financially.
It wasn't a hoax or a bizarre social media promotion.
It was a very real problem with the conditions of many Burger King franchises in Germany
and with the condition of food served at those locations.
As a result of the scandal, Burger King Germany ended up closing 89 franchises.
RTL Television reporters went undercover to let the public know that food products that
were past their sell-by dates were being labelled as fresh.
Also, RTL revealed that burgers which were supposed to be grilled after they were ordered
were actually resting under warming lights for long periods of time, even hours.
Other problems revealed in the RTL report included hygiene violations, such as staff
making food for customers after cleaning washrooms, without bothering to clean themselves up properly
first.
Needless to say, all of this information really grossed out German fast food fans.
BK Germany had to take action to stop the negative publicity, and it turns out closing
many franchises seemed like the answer.
Apparently, the franchises hadn't followed the rules that they were supposed to.
So after breaking the rules they were punished.
Yi-Ko Holdings was the company that ran all of these franchises.
Its business practices were very sketchy.
That company also treated Burger King staff badly, by withholding bonuses, sick pay and
holiday pay.
The Big Mac Ripoff
Burger King does have a history of copying McDonald's menu items and it's not hard to
understand why.
McDonald's is the competition and the leader.
When Burger King unleashed its Big King XL burger in January of this year, it was touted
in a press release as containing way more beef than a Big Mac.
This was really the key difference between the Big King XL and the Big Mac.
Other than the XL having one hundred and seventy-five percent more beef, the burgers are eerily
similar.
The Big King XL features a half-pound of ground beef, as well as pickles, savory sauce, sliced
onions, American cheese and crisp lettuce.
That sounds a little familiar, right?
They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, but Burger King does get some flak
for copying Mickey D's, and the Big King XL isn't the first Burger King menu items that's
a very close copy to a McDonald's menu item.
In truth, BK is always watching what McDonald's does and making business decisions accordingly.
McDonald's surely keeps tabs on Burger King, too, but doesn't seem to copy BK to the extent
that BK copies Mickey D's.
Another example of BK imitating McDonald's is BK's "The Rib Sandwich", which is just
so McRib-like.
Mary J. Blige And The Burger King Ad
When talented singer, Mary J. Blige, filmed a promo for Burger King Crispy Chicken Wraps,
there was public outcry.
Why?
Well, some people felt that having a black singer advertise fried chicken was a little
racist.
People were freaking out over the ad.
Mary's ode to the Burger King menu items caused outright outrage.
Burger King had to pull the ad down fast.
Even though it was pulled from YouTube, people were already remixing it.
Plus, the scandal was ensuring that the remixed video was being seen just about everywhere.
Obviously, BK's marketing team expected different results from this campaign.
Burger King did get tons of free publicity, but the publicity was not too positive.
Mary defended her participation in the ad by saying that Burger King didn't edit her
spot as promised.
Mary felt that the ad which went out to the public was unfinished and very different than
what she was told it would be like.
Burger King admitted that it pushed the ad out too soon, because it got all the paperwork
done and just wanted to get it out there.
In the end the fast food chain apologized to Blige.
The French Fry Burger
As scandals go, the Burger King "French Fry Burger" scandal was pretty tame and fairly
amusing.
BK decided to sell a burger that had four fries added to it.
That was basically the only thing that made the burger stand out.
It seemed a bit lame.
Wasn't really so creative.
Anyone can grab some fries and add them to a burger.
A small child could do it and many have.
The burger was launched in 2013 and retailed for just a dollar.
At this point in time, Burger King was ranked at number three in terms of fast food chains.
It wasn't interested in losing more ground, so it cooked up a burger concoction that didn't
require any big changes or new ingredients.
French fries were already on hand after all.
Experts believed that Burger King wanted to grab publicity and attract customers, without
needing to shell out money launching a brand-new menu item.
The burger wasn't too creative and it wasn't a monster hit.
After all, you could just do it yourself.
Burger King Hijacks Google Home
In 2017, Burger King got devious by creating a new and innovative ad campaign that hijacked
Google Home speakers.
Like many BK ad campaigns, it was kind of amusing.
However, this one was also controversial.
The company released a new ad that lasted just fifteen seconds.
It showed a person wearing a Burger King uniform getting close to the camera and asking Google
what a Whopper burger is.
People who kept Google Home speakers close to their televisions noticed that the question
asked by the person in the Burger King uniform would activate their speakers to start reading
out the Wikipedia page for the Burger King Whopper.
Yep, this ad got some attention, but also really annoyed a lot of people.
Burger King knew exactly what it was doing with this ad.
It had edited its Wiki page before the ad launched.
The edited Wiki page described the burger in a tantalizing way.
It's kinda hard not to laugh at this stuff.
At least it's creative.
But Google had no input into the ad.
As this list proves, Burger King's marketing team is occasionally a bit subversive.
To stand out from its competition, BK's marketers aren't afraid to push the envelope.
Sometimes, it all seems to go too far, but Burger King hangs in there.
There are probably so many people who find ad gambits like the Google Home thing very
amusing.
Burger King is shooting for a younger demographic with its wackier promos.
Going for the youth dollar.
The Lettuce Bin Scandal
This scandal started with a meme, which is now known as the Burger King "foot lettuce"
meme.
The meme surfaced when a Burger King employee took a photo standing in two vats of Burger
King lettuce.
This rogue worker was a 4Chan user and the pic of the lettuce was the subject of fascination
on the internet when the controversial photo was posted back in 2012.
The employee was wearing black shoes while stepping into the lettuce.
He later lost his job because let's face it, he deserved to.
People online who were curious about the image managed to figure out which Burger King location
it came from and let the media know what they'd discovered.
All of this led to the employee losing his job.
How this employee managed to pose for the photo without being discovered by a manager
is still unknown.
Clearly, the "foot lettuce" employee wasn't exactly Employee Of The Month material.
Burger King execs must have been really mad when this picture started circulating online.
Sometimes, bad workers will do real damage to businesses, including fast food joints.
Pics like "foot lettuce" never really seem to stop people from hitting those fast food
spots.
Most BKs don't have employees who would do these things and this was an isolated incident.

well thank you for being here everyone my name is Mike the CPA and welcome back
to money and life TV a channel that people come to to learn about finances
investing and taxes! If you have come to check out this video you are probably
excited about the idea of building a feral beast like portfolio of dividend
producing assets to help support you in retirement I also suspect you would like
to achieve that goal as soon as possible because your boss at the job you no
longer like going to is really starting to get on your nerves let's be honest
you see we're putting the cover sheets on all TPS reports now before they go
out did you see the memo about this yeah yeah yeah I have the memo right here I
just forgot so we know that dividends can be a great way to start replacing
your income but how do we do that for you as soon as possible what's the best
way well I remember when I first started out investing for dividends one of the
first questions I had is should I invest for dividends by purchasing ETF's
exchange-traded funds or should my focus be more on selecting individual company
stocks that pay dividends which one's the right one at this point the video I
could probably transition this whole conversation it's is trying to sell you
a course on daydream
but instead we're gonna skip all that BS and I'm just gonna give you guys the
answer straight up and the answer is stocks it stocks that's why in this
video I'm gonna be sharing four reasons that I have found why I feel stocks are
superior when it comes to investing in dividends are building a dividend income
portfolio this doesn't mean that all investors should invest this way for
dividends but I'll explain my reasoning for this throughout the course of this
video reason number one is payout predictability one of the nice things
about investing in dividend paying stocks is you will know exactly when
your dividend payment will be received secondly it's easier to estimate how
much your dividend payment might be and also you can more easily gauge the
financial health of each individual company which is really hard to do with
an ETF just from some of the factors above I think you can see how this makes
budgeting a little easier especially if you are retired or on the brink of
retiring soon by building a dividend portfolio that consists primarily of
individual stocks not only do I feel you're gonna have an overall safer
income but I also think you're going to have a more predictable income as well
trying to do this with a dividend Payne ETFs can be more challenging to predict
dividend payouts because the ETF's typically are made up of 50 or 100
stocks or more some companies the ETF sold can be low quality companies who
may cut their dividend payouts and you might see a drop in your dividend income
when you least expect it the idea of picking individual stocks takes a bit
more time I'm not gonna lie to you know the figure out the right investments but
I have found that it's worth it if you don't mind the extra time commitment and
guys this for my personal experience especially if you're more of a cashflow
investor somebody who wants to invest for dividends I have found it's not too
much of a time commitment typically I only spin now to do some research
anywhere from one to four hours per month so I don't think it's too large of
a time commitment and you're gonna become more and more efficient at it
over time the more you do it now I know you're all freaking out about how much
time it would take away from you playing fortnight but don't worry
that time will not be hindered reason number two stocks are easier to analyze
I've kind of already hinted it at this and reason number one personally I feel
stocks are easier to analyze in ETFs because you can look at the financials
of each individual company one at a time there are ways to analyze ETFs but I
feel from experience that I can do a much deeper company analysis with
individual stocks and believe it or not my wife feels the exact same way when it
comes to shopping for a purses if I'm out with her when she's shopping she
never likes to look at 100 purses all at once
no she likes to carefully and slowly look at one purse at a time for those of
you who are married you know exactly what I'm talking about
reason number three fee fie foe fum investment fees one of the things I love
about buying individual company stocks is I only pay a fee one time when I buy
it I don't have to worry about reoccurring fees year after year after
year now you're probably saying well wait Mike aren't ETFs low-cost yes but
you might change your opinion about that here after we look at some numbers now I
still think overall ETFs are low cost but if you think of it this way if you
grow your account to a million dollars for example and you know let's say
you're looking at a fidelity funds or Vanguard funds and they're fun fees
usually like a tenth of a percent three tenths of a percent so it's super small
right at least or so you think even with such a small fee on a portfolio a
million dollars that tenth of verse in our three tenths percent can cost you
anywhere from one thousand to three thousand dollars per year in brokerage
fees and those are reoccurring that keeps going every single year as your
accountant gross now compare that to a platform that charges no commissions
like Robin Hood or m1 finance or even like a merit rate for example which you
guys know that's what I use that charges six dollars and ninety five percents per
stock transaction even if I invest four times per month or twelve times per year
I'm only paying about three hundred and thirty three dollars
regardless my account is worth a million dollars or
not I invest less frequently than that so my annual commissions are typically
only $200 or less per year but remember once you buy the stock and hold on to it
you never have to pay another fee again unless you sell that stock which means
you can use all that extra money you're saving to fuel your gambling addiction
or realistically buy your wife a person in advance so you don't have to go purse
shopping with her hold on guys just one second
chipper what's with all the purse jokes in this script
I mean seriously like if my wife if she sees this thing she's gonna think I'm
super insensitive and that I actually don't like going purse shopping with her
you're gonna get me in a lot of trouble what do you mean you didn't turn the
camera off ah reason number four customization now
most of us like things that are customized like customizing our
character in Red Dead Redemption too so if we're customizing our character there
why can't we customize our dividend portfolio as well when investing for
dividends by purchasing stocks you are able to customize your portfolio the way
you like it you can purchase companies that pay dividends monthly quarterly
annually etc you can diversify by industry and have more control of how
diversified you want your portfolio to actually be and also you can customize
your yield as well which were just about to talk about I know earlier in the
video I said I only have four reasons for you I actually have five the reason
number five is higher yields one of the most important ones of all now when it
comes to yields and ETFs when I think about it I think the yields for most
people are gonna be far too low to really benefit people's retirement needs
or to meet people's retirement needs in my opinion it's going to take too
much capital to have a safe income or retirement if your ETFs are only
yielding you around 2% in my experience I have found that that I think it's much
easier for the hours person to achieve this income or retirement goal with
dividends by picking individual stocks rather than ETFs individual company
stocks can provide much higher yields now personally and I've mentioned this
in another video but I try to shoot for a minimum yield an average minimum yield
of at least three to four percent maybe even five to
six percent depending on the investment mix but at a minimum three to four
percent I think two percents too low I don't think I could do it or have
success that way now right at this moment my current weighted average
dividend yield in my portfolio is right around three and a half percent as you
do this own research for yourself I think what you're gonna find is that yes
picking individual stocks doing a little bit of research
it takes more efforts a little bit more energy but I think you're gonna find
that it's well worth your the additional time because the extra income and
savings of what it can produce for you in retirement I found to be well worth
it now if you're watching this video if you're still someone out there who you
just cannot fathom or cannot the idea of having to spend time the research
individual companies makes you sick to your stomach then by all means ETFs are
still a great choice it's still beef by investing in dividend paying ETFs it's
still gonna move your portfolio and your retirement income in the right direction
so don't beat yourself up if you don't want to take the time to research
individual stocks ETFs can still be a great option for you if you want to
learn more about this particular topic in the description section of the video

Russia may soon have a weapon that no one else has - a nuclear-powered cruise missile.
On January 29, 2019, Russia conducted a partially successful test of its Burevestnik missile.
Viewers can check the video in the link provided in the 'Description' section below.
This has been confirmed to The Diplomat by U.S government sources who have information
regarding the matter.
In this video Defense Updates, analyses Russia's one of a kind Burevestnik cruise missile.
Let's get started.
Viewers may note that Burevestnik was one of the several new weapons first mentioned
by Russian President Putin on March 1, 2018, in his State of Nation address before Russian
lawmakers and other senior government officials.
The Burevestnik was announced along with a host of new weapons which included the Avangard
- a hypersonic boost-glide reentry vehicle, the Poseidon - an autonomous thermonuclear
torpedo, the Sarmat, a new intercontinental-range ballistic missile, and the Kinzhal - an air-launched
ballistic missile.
Regarding The Burevestnik, Vladimir Putin noted that "In late 2017, Russia successfully
launched its latest nuclear-powered missile at the Central training ground."
He added that "during its flight, the nuclear-powered engine reached its design capacity and provided
the necessary propulsion."
He additionally claimed that the missile's range was "unlimited" and that it could
"maneuver for as long as necessary."
The 9M730 Burevestnik is a nuclear-powered & nuclear-tipped cruise missile.
So, it has a nuclear warhead and is powered by a nuclear engine.
It is has a NATO reporting name of SSC-X-9 Skyfall.
Nuclear tipped cruise missiles have been developed like the American Tomahawk, but there is no
cruise missile or any other type of missile that uses nuclear energy for propulsion.
The most important advantage of nuclear propulsion is that the missile will have virtually unlimited
range.
Cruise missiles like Tomahawk carry fuel to power their turbofan engine.
The fuel is either liquid propellant or solid one and is carried in limited quantities.
Since conventional fuel like this can power the turbofan engine for a fixed time - this
basically missile these missiles have limited range.
For example, Tomahawk has a maximum range of 2500 km.
The Burevestnik, if successfully developed will not be limited by this aspect.
As per reports from Russia, the missile will also have the ability to evade any interceptor
based missile defense system.
It is not clear how Russian engineers plan to build this type of capability in the missile.
As for the external design, the missile is fairly conventional in characteristic.
It has a wing attached to the midsection and stabilizers at the rear.
Till now no country has attempted a missile like this.
This mainly comes from the fact that developing a miniature nuclear reactor is very complex
and there are also safety issues since the nuclear engine will be housed in close proximity
of the nuclear warhead.
Viewers may note that, in the late-1950s, America started working on a project like
this.
A prototype nuclear-powered ramjet engine was planned as part of Project Pluto.
But this was never deployed.
Developing The Burevestnik has been challenging for Russia.
The Burevestnik was first tested at Kapustin Yar In June 2016.
There have been 13 tests of the weapon in total.
The last one was conducted in February 2018.
The longest test flight reportedly lasted for a bit more than 2 minutes in which the
missile was able to cover 22 miles.
The latest test is the only moderately successful as per U.S intelligence sources, but the technical
data is not available in the public domain.
A missile with nuclear propulsion not only means that it will have the unlimited range
it also means that it can hover around a target indefinitely.
This poses a massive challenge since if the missile carries a nuclear warhead, then even
bringing it down could also result in catastrophe.
So, a nuclear-powered & nuclear-tipped missile like The Burevestnik will have to be neutralized
much before it enters the territory of a nation.
This is where The Burevestnik will make things very complex for Russia's rivals.

Number 10: Rakotz Bridge.
I could've easily called this bridge by its other name, the "Devil's Bridge", but honestly,
this bridge is a bit too beautiful to be called that.
You'll find this bridge in Germany, and it looks like something that was made for a fantasy
movie given how it curves into the air.
But no, this was a simple bridge that was made for us regular humans.
Kromlauer Park in Kromlau houses this bridge, and it's actually made entirely out of Basalt,
which is a popular building material in the area, which covers about 200 square acres.
What's ironic about this bridge, though, is that it's actually closed to the public now.
Why is that?
Well, it's because it was made back in 1860, and so it's been around for over 150 years,
and thus they don't want people to accidentally ruin it, which is very understandable.
What might be the most unique thing about this bridge though is that if you look at
it via its reflection in the water, you'll actually see that the bridge and its reflection
merge to make a perfect circle.
Number 9: Vitim River Bridge, Russia.
Just because a bridge is unique doesn't mean that it isn't dangerous.
For a unique form can cause people a lot of pain if not crossed carefully.
To that end, the Vitim River Bridge is one of the most unique and dangerous bridges in
the world today.
This Bridge in Russia was built to help people cross the Vitim River.
Just one problem, its location on this river ensured that the place was cold, very cold,
so the bridge, and everything around it, froze.
Now, ice on a bridge isn't a problem for certain bridges, but it most certainly is for this
one.
For you see, the construction of it didn't include handrails or supports.
So there's nothing to grab onto or crash into to keep you on the bridge.
Due to this, if you slip on this bridge, you're very likely to fall right off of it and into
the freezing river below.
Which in the extreme temperatures of Russia, rarely has a good outcome.
You might be thinking that this bridge is a "ghost story" of sorts, and that I'm trying
to keep you away from it.
But here are the facts, many people have tried to cross the bridge, very few have survived
intact, and many more didn't survive at all.
Number 8: Crab Bridges.

When you think of a bridge, your mind often goes to massive constructions that were built
for the purpose of getting people and vehicles across certain areas.
But, that's not always the case, as sometimes, it's the animals of nature that need our help,
and a bridge is what they need to get to where they need to go.
And that's why the Crab Bridges of Christmas Island are so important, and unique.
This island is part of Australia, and its function is quite literal.
You see, the forests of this island have crabs in them.
But not in small numbers like you might be picturing.
There are, in fact, millions of red crabs here, and they like to go at times from the
forests to the nearby oceans to migrate.
One problem though, humans also live on this island, and due to that, there are roads that
cut right through the most direct paths.
So, the locals decided to help out by building these very tall bridges for the crabs so that
they can go up and over the roads without fear of hurting themselves.
You might think that this is a bit ambitious, and that the crabs might not be able to climb
it, but crabs have been known to climb trees, and as you can see here, they're clearly not
struggling that much to get over the hump.
Another thing to note is that there are several of these bridges on Christmas Island, ensuring
that no one bridge is harboring millions of crabs.
Number 7: Lucky Knot Bridge.
Let's head to China for a very unique bridge.
And unlike some bridges that are unique in terms of function, this one is very unique
in terms of shape.
For in fact, the Lucky Knot Bridge is actually three different bridges side by side.
Each one, though, has a different curve in it.
These three footpaths, as they are called, were inspired by the ancient art of knotting,
thus why they're all unique, and slope in different ways.
The looping pattern is rather interesting to think about, and if it wasn't made of solid
steel, you might think twice about going onto it.
Yet, it's completely safe.
What's more, the bridges are built as a connector between two parks, and add to the ambience
of the area if you will.
It'd be a very interesting walk for sure.
For you could choose the more balanced up and down path, or the one that slopes up highly,
then drops back down.
In this case, walking from one park to another is just as much of an adventure as going to
the parks themselves.
Number 6: The Helix Bridge.
Heading over to Singapore now, let's look at another bridge that has a very interesting
design to its construction, The Helix Bridge.
As its name suggests, it has a helix built into it.
Actually, it has two.
This double helix design is meant to mimic the DNA of the human body, and you can't deny
that it looks rather interesting both up close and from afar.
This bridge was built for pedestrians near Singapore River and connects Marina Centre
with Marina South in the Marina Bay.
While it may be hard to tell at points, The Helix Bridge is much more than just a beautifully
designed construct.
For while you are meant to walk across it, there are plenty of places to sit and relax
throughout it.
What's more, they made it so that there are a couple of viewing areas that'll let you
see breathtaking views of Singapore and the bays.
The beauty and elegance of the Helix Bridge helps it to stand out in the best way, and
its design is so unique, that it's the first in the world of its kind.
Number 5: Chapel Bridge.
Given how long bridges have been made, it shouldn't be surprising that some of them
not only date back pretty far, but have an important meaning to the locals of the area.
Such as the Chapel Bridge that is up in Lucerne, Switzerland.
This bridge was built all the way back in 1333, and is considered the oldest wood-covered
bridge in the world today.
But the Swiss went far beyond the call with this bridge, for not only does it span the
Reuss River, it also had paintings inside of it that depicted the local areas history
in a beautiful display.
However, a fire broke out once and nearly burned the entire bridge down.
two-thirds of it was destroyed, and only 25 paintings could be saved.
However, the bridge was rebuilt less than a year later, and it remains up to this day.
Number 4: Aiola Island Bridge Bar Let's be honest here, why just build a bridge
when you can build a bridge that does even more?
And while many would take that opportunity to make bridges that have big scenic views
or photo opportunities, the Aiola Island Bridge Bar in Austria decided to make a bar out of
their bridge.
Oh, but they didn't stop there though, they also included a sunbathing area, coffee bar,
open-air theater and children's play area.
All of which is right there in the middle of the bridge!
Now if you're curious how all of that works, it's honestly because the bridge in question
crosses the Mur River in such a way that allows such amenities to be possible.
This is also one of the more recent bridges on this list, being built in 2003.
The New York based designer made sure that the bridge not only felt unique, with what
it offered inside, but was also unique in its design and layout.
Number 3: Circular Laguna Garzon Bridge.
Sometimes, a bridge needs to be made out of necessity.
And that's exactly what the people of Uruguay did when a crossing that had been built long
ago, across the Laguna Garzon, wasn't allowing enough cars through to meet the demand.
At the time, it would only allow 2 cars at a time, which obviously is not a lot.
So, they upgraded and made the Circular Laguna Garzon Bridge.
It's unique because of how circular it is, and it stands out when you look at it from
above.
But most importantly, it functions like it should and this new bridge can hold 1,000
cars!
And because of the shape, they are forced to drive go slower, which ensures safety.
Win-win.
Number 2: Hussaini Hanging Bridge, Pakistan.
Ah, you thought we were done with the "uniquely dangerous bridges" huh?
Sorry, no such luck.
Let me introduce you to the Hussaini Hanging Bridge in Pakistan, a bridge that has the
dubious honor of being called the "World's Most Dangerous Bridge".
It's not hard to see why.
Let's start at the bare minimum, the visuals.
This bridge looks like something from the ancient days of bridge making, and I don't
mean that as a compliment.
For unlike a truly sturdy bridge, this "Hanging Bridge" has the most basic wood logs to serve
as "footholds".
They're not even all the same size!
It literally looks like someone did the bridge in the least amount of time and for the lowest
budget possible.
This isn't even mentioning the ropes on the walkway.
The horizontal ones seem somewhat strong, but the vertical ones are loose, which you
definitely don't want because that makes the place very flimsy.
And the Husaaini Hanging Bridge has this going down the whole bridge.
Walking across this bridge is without a doubt one of the most harrowing experiences you
would have simply because every single step would be a risk to your life.
If you go to the Borit Lake in Pakistan, do yourself a favor...don't cross the bridge.
It might be the last thing you do.
Number 1: The Living Roots Bridge.
You've seen bridges made of all kinds of materials.
But have you ever seen one made out of tree roots?
And not just roots cut out of a tree, oh no, ones made from a LIVING tree.
That's exactly what the War-Khasis tribe in India did.
They made it so that the roots of the local Ficus Trees would grow in certain patterns
and directions.
That's pretty epic given that this wasn't done with modern technology.
These bridges can handle dozens of people, and stretch over 100 feet.
The only real catch is that unlike modern bridges, these "Living Roots Bridges" take
over 10-15 years to be strong enough to walk on.
But, given the look and construction, or lack thereof, there's no doubt that this is one
of, if not the, most unique bridge in the world.

Dividend investing: (Are Individual Stocks Best For Dividends?)🥊 Stocks Versus Etfs For Dividends! - Duration: 10:39.well thank you for being here everyone my name is Mike the CPA and welcome back
to money and life TV a channel that people come to to learn about finances
investing and taxes! If you have come to check out this video you are probably
excited about the idea of building a feral beast like portfolio of dividend
producing assets to help support you in retirement I also suspect you would like
to achieve that goal as soon as possible because your boss at the job you no
longer like going to is really starting to get on your nerves let's be honest
you see we're putting the cover sheets on all TPS reports now before they go
out did you see the memo about this yeah yeah yeah I have the memo right here I
just forgot so we know that dividends can be a great way to start replacing
your income but how do we do that for you as soon as possible what's the best
way well I remember when I first started out investing for dividends one of the
first questions I had is should I invest for dividends by purchasing ETF's
exchange-traded funds or should my focus be more on selecting individual company
stocks that pay dividends which one's the right one at this point the video I
could probably transition this whole conversation it's is trying to sell you
a course on daydream
but instead we're gonna skip all that BS and I'm just gonna give you guys the
answer straight up and the answer is stocks it stocks that's why in this
video I'm gonna be sharing four reasons that I have found why I feel stocks are
superior when it comes to investing in dividends are building a dividend income
portfolio this doesn't mean that all investors should invest this way for
dividends but I'll explain my reasoning for this throughout the course of this
video reason number one is payout predictability one of the nice things
about investing in dividend paying stocks is you will know exactly when
your dividend payment will be received secondly it's easier to estimate how
much your dividend payment might be and also you can more easily gauge the
financial health of each individual company which is really hard to do with
an ETF just from some of the factors above I think you can see how this makes
budgeting a little easier especially if you are retired or on the brink of
retiring soon by building a dividend portfolio that consists primarily of
individual stocks not only do I feel you're gonna have an overall safer
income but I also think you're going to have a more predictable income as well
trying to do this with a dividend Payne ETFs can be more challenging to predict
dividend payouts because the ETF's typically are made up of 50 or 100
stocks or more some companies the ETF sold can be low quality companies who
may cut their dividend payouts and you might see a drop in your dividend income
when you least expect it the idea of picking individual stocks takes a bit
more time I'm not gonna lie to you know the figure out the right investments but
I have found that it's worth it if you don't mind the extra time commitment and
guys this for my personal experience especially if you're more of a cashflow
investor somebody who wants to invest for dividends I have found it's not too
much of a time commitment typically I only spin now to do some research
anywhere from one to four hours per month so I don't think it's too large of
a time commitment and you're gonna become more and more efficient at it
over time the more you do it now I know you're all freaking out about how much
time it would take away from you playing fortnight but don't worry
that time will not be hindered reason number two stocks are easier to analyze
I've kind of already hinted it at this and reason number one personally I feel
stocks are easier to analyze in ETFs because you can look at the financials
of each individual company one at a time there are ways to analyze ETFs but I
feel from experience that I can do a much deeper company analysis with
individual stocks and believe it or not my wife feels the exact same way when it
comes to shopping for a purses if I'm out with her when she's shopping she
never likes to look at 100 purses all at once
no she likes to carefully and slowly look at one purse at a time for those of
you who are married you know exactly what I'm talking about
reason number three fee fie foe fum investment fees one of the things I love
about buying individual company stocks is I only pay a fee one time when I buy
it I don't have to worry about reoccurring fees year after year after
year now you're probably saying well wait Mike aren't ETFs low-cost yes but
you might change your opinion about that here after we look at some numbers now I
still think overall ETFs are low cost but if you think of it this way if you
grow your account to a million dollars for example and you know let's say
you're looking at a fidelity funds or Vanguard funds and they're fun fees
usually like a tenth of a percent three tenths of a percent so it's super small
right at least or so you think even with such a small fee on a portfolio a
million dollars that tenth of verse in our three tenths percent can cost you
anywhere from one thousand to three thousand dollars per year in brokerage
fees and those are reoccurring that keeps going every single year as your
accountant gross now compare that to a platform that charges no commissions
like Robin Hood or m1 finance or even like a merit rate for example which you
guys know that's what I use that charges six dollars and ninety five percents per
stock transaction even if I invest four times per month or twelve times per year
I'm only paying about three hundred and thirty three dollars
regardless my account is worth a million dollars or
not I invest less frequently than that so my annual commissions are typically
only $200 or less per year but remember once you buy the stock and hold on to it
you never have to pay another fee again unless you sell that stock which means
you can use all that extra money you're saving to fuel your gambling addiction
or realistically buy your wife a person in advance so you don't have to go purse
shopping with her hold on guys just one second

I mean seriously like if my wife if she sees this thing she's gonna think I'm
super insensitive and that I actually don't like going purse shopping with her
you're gonna get me in a lot of trouble what do you mean you didn't turn the
camera off ah reason number four customization now
most of us like things that are customized like customizing our
character in Red Dead Redemption too so if we're customizing our character there
why can't we customize our dividend portfolio as well when investing for
dividends by purchasing stocks you are able to customize your portfolio the way
you like it you can purchase companies that pay dividends monthly quarterly
annually etc you can diversify by industry and have more control of how
diversified you want your portfolio to actually be and also you can customize
your yield as well which were just about to talk about I know earlier in the
video I said I only have four reasons for you I actually have five the reason
number five is higher yields one of the most important ones of all now when it
comes to yields and ETFs when I think about it I think the yields for most
people are gonna be far too low to really benefit people's retirement needs
or to meet people's retirement needs in my opinion it's going to take too
much capital to have a safe income or retirement if your ETFs are only
yielding you around 2% in my experience I have found that that I think it's much
easier for the hours person to achieve this income or retirement goal with
dividends by picking individual stocks rather than ETFs individual company
stocks can provide much higher yields now personally and I've mentioned this
in another video but I try to shoot for a minimum yield an average minimum yield
of at least three to four percent maybe even five to
six percent depending on the investment mix but at a minimum three to four
percent I think two percents too low I don't think I could do it or have
success that way now right at this moment my current weighted average
dividend yield in my portfolio is right around three and a half percent as you
do this own research for yourself I think what you're gonna find is that yes
picking individual stocks doing a little bit of research
it takes more efforts a little bit more energy but I think you're gonna find
that it's well worth your the additional time because the extra income and
savings of what it can produce for you in retirement I found to be well worth
it now if you're watching this video if you're still someone out there who you
just cannot fathom or cannot the idea of having to spend time the research
individual companies makes you sick to your stomach then by all means ETFs are
still a great choice it's still beef by investing in dividend paying ETFs it's
still gonna move your portfolio and your retirement income in the right direction
so don't beat yourself up if you don't want to take the time to research
individual stocks ETFs can still be a great option for you if you want to
learn more about this particular topic in the description section of the video

Number 10: Rakotz Bridge.
I could've easily called this bridge by its other name, the "Devil's Bridge", but honestly,
this bridge is a bit too beautiful to be called that.
You'll find this bridge in Germany, and it looks like something that was made for a fantasy
movie given how it curves into the air.
But no, this was a simple bridge that was made for us regular humans.
Kromlauer Park in Kromlau houses this bridge, and it's actually made entirely out of Basalt,
which is a popular building material in the area, which covers about 200 square acres.
What's ironic about this bridge, though, is that it's actually closed to the public now.
Why is that?
Well, it's because it was made back in 1860, and so it's been around for over 150 years,
and thus they don't want people to accidentally ruin it, which is very understandable.
What might be the most unique thing about this bridge though is that if you look at
it via its reflection in the water, you'll actually see that the bridge and its reflection
merge to make a perfect circle.
Number 9: Vitim River Bridge, Russia.
Just because a bridge is unique doesn't mean that it isn't dangerous.
For a unique form can cause people a lot of pain if not crossed carefully.
To that end, the Vitim River Bridge is one of the most unique and dangerous bridges in
the world today.
This Bridge in Russia was built to help people cross the Vitim River.
Just one problem, its location on this river ensured that the place was cold, very cold,
so the bridge, and everything around it, froze.
Now, ice on a bridge isn't a problem for certain bridges, but it most certainly is for this
one.
For you see, the construction of it didn't include handrails or supports.
So there's nothing to grab onto or crash into to keep you on the bridge.
Due to this, if you slip on this bridge, you're very likely to fall right off of it and into
the freezing river below.
Which in the extreme temperatures of Russia, rarely has a good outcome.
You might be thinking that this bridge is a "ghost story" of sorts, and that I'm trying
to keep you away from it.
But here are the facts, many people have tried to cross the bridge, very few have survived
intact, and many more didn't survive at all.

This island is part of Australia, and its function is quite literal.
You see, the forests of this island have crabs in them.
But not in small numbers like you might be picturing.
There are, in fact, millions of red crabs here, and they like to go at times from the
forests to the nearby oceans to migrate.
One problem though, humans also live on this island, and due to that, there are roads that
cut right through the most direct paths.
So, the locals decided to help out by building these very tall bridges for the crabs so that
they can go up and over the roads without fear of hurting themselves.
You might think that this is a bit ambitious, and that the crabs might not be able to climb
it, but crabs have been known to climb trees, and as you can see here, they're clearly not
struggling that much to get over the hump.
Another thing to note is that there are several of these bridges on Christmas Island, ensuring
that no one bridge is harboring millions of crabs.
Number 7: Lucky Knot Bridge.
Let's head to China for a very unique bridge.
And unlike some bridges that are unique in terms of function, this one is very unique
in terms of shape.
For in fact, the Lucky Knot Bridge is actually three different bridges side by side.
Each one, though, has a different curve in it.
These three footpaths, as they are called, were inspired by the ancient art of knotting,
thus why they're all unique, and slope in different ways.
The looping pattern is rather interesting to think about, and if it wasn't made of solid
steel, you might think twice about going onto it.
Yet, it's completely safe.
What's more, the bridges are built as a connector between two parks, and add to the ambience
of the area if you will.
It'd be a very interesting walk for sure.
For you could choose the more balanced up and down path, or the one that slopes up highly,
then drops back down.
In this case, walking from one park to another is just as much of an adventure as going to
the parks themselves.
Number 6: The Helix Bridge.
Heading over to Singapore now, let's look at another bridge that has a very interesting
design to its construction, The Helix Bridge.
As its name suggests, it has a helix built into it.
Actually, it has two.
This double helix design is meant to mimic the DNA of the human body, and you can't deny
that it looks rather interesting both up close and from afar.
This bridge was built for pedestrians near Singapore River and connects Marina Centre
with Marina South in the Marina Bay.
While it may be hard to tell at points, The Helix Bridge is much more than just a beautifully
designed construct.
For while you are meant to walk across it, there are plenty of places to sit and relax
throughout it.
What's more, they made it so that there are a couple of viewing areas that'll let you
see breathtaking views of Singapore and the bays.
The beauty and elegance of the Helix Bridge helps it to stand out in the best way, and
its design is so unique, that it's the first in the world of its kind.
Number 5: Chapel Bridge.
Given how long bridges have been made, it shouldn't be surprising that some of them
not only date back pretty far, but have an important meaning to the locals of the area.
Such as the Chapel Bridge that is up in Lucerne, Switzerland.
This bridge was built all the way back in 1333, and is considered the oldest wood-covered
bridge in the world today.
But the Swiss went far beyond the call with this bridge, for not only does it span the
Reuss River, it also had paintings inside of it that depicted the local areas history
in a beautiful display.
However, a fire broke out once and nearly burned the entire bridge down.
two-thirds of it was destroyed, and only 25 paintings could be saved.
However, the bridge was rebuilt less than a year later, and it remains up to this day.
Number 4: Aiola Island Bridge Bar Let's be honest here, why just build a bridge
when you can build a bridge that does even more?
And while many would take that opportunity to make bridges that have big scenic views
or photo opportunities, the Aiola Island Bridge Bar in Austria decided to make a bar out of
their bridge.
Oh, but they didn't stop there though, they also included a sunbathing area, coffee bar,
open-air theater and children's play area.
All of which is right there in the middle of the bridge!
Now if you're curious how all of that works, it's honestly because the bridge in question
crosses the Mur River in such a way that allows such amenities to be possible.
This is also one of the more recent bridges on this list, being built in 2003.
The New York based designer made sure that the bridge not only felt unique, with what
it offered inside, but was also unique in its design and layout.
Number 3: Circular Laguna Garzon Bridge.
Sometimes, a bridge needs to be made out of necessity.
And that's exactly what the people of Uruguay did when a crossing that had been built long
ago, across the Laguna Garzon, wasn't allowing enough cars through to meet the demand.
At the time, it would only allow 2 cars at a time, which obviously is not a lot.
So, they upgraded and made the Circular Laguna Garzon Bridge.
It's unique because of how circular it is, and it stands out when you look at it from
above.
But most importantly, it functions like it should and this new bridge can hold 1,000
cars!
And because of the shape, they are forced to drive go slower, which ensures safety.
Win-win.
Number 2: Hussaini Hanging Bridge, Pakistan.
Ah, you thought we were done with the "uniquely dangerous bridges" huh?
Sorry, no such luck.
Let me introduce you to the Hussaini Hanging Bridge in Pakistan, a bridge that has the
dubious honor of being called the "World's Most Dangerous Bridge".
It's not hard to see why.
Let's start at the bare minimum, the visuals.
This bridge looks like something from the ancient days of bridge making, and I don't
mean that as a compliment.
For unlike a truly sturdy bridge, this "Hanging Bridge" has the most basic wood logs to serve
as "footholds".
They're not even all the same size!
It literally looks like someone did the bridge in the least amount of time and for the lowest
budget possible.
This isn't even mentioning the ropes on the walkway.
The horizontal ones seem somewhat strong, but the vertical ones are loose, which you
definitely don't want because that makes the place very flimsy.
And the Husaaini Hanging Bridge has this going down the whole bridge.
Walking across this bridge is without a doubt one of the most harrowing experiences you
would have simply because every single step would be a risk to your life.
If you go to the Borit Lake in Pakistan, do yourself a favor...don't cross the bridge.
It might be the last thing you do.
Number 1: The Living Roots Bridge.
You've seen bridges made of all kinds of materials.
But have you ever seen one made out of tree roots?
And not just roots cut out of a tree, oh no, ones made from a LIVING tree.
That's exactly what the War-Khasis tribe in India did.
They made it so that the roots of the local Ficus Trees would grow in certain patterns
and directions.
That's pretty epic given that this wasn't done with modern technology.
These bridges can handle dozens of people, and stretch over 100 feet.
The only real catch is that unlike modern bridges, these "Living Roots Bridges" take
over 10-15 years to be strong enough to walk on.
But, given the look and construction, or lack thereof, there's no doubt that this is one
of, if not the, most unique bridge in the world.

you're looking to grow your eyelashes out I would recommend juicing they do
say that clean eating which juicing is a form of eating but in liquid form is the
best way to grow out your hair and also clear up your skin but believe it or not
your eyelashes can also grow as well if you are juicing consistently and what I
mean by consistently at least have been one 16 to 32 ounces of fresh juice 7
days a week one drink a day and trying to eat clean with very few processed
foods you will definitely reap the benefits of growth in the lashes in on
top of your head so don't want to make this video too long just want to answer
your question that yes it does actually grow your eyelashes when you juice so
