Mathematics: Beauty vs Utility - Numberphile - Duration: 9:11.
BRADY: I noticed one other thing, I noticed on your board you have a magic square.
Correct.
BRADY: Why is that there today?
You know I spend part of my life doing interviews and sometimes you have to vary things, you
know change a bit from the usual.
And so in that interview this was to recall my initial interest in mathematics.
When I was a kid this was the kind of thing that I loved doing - magic squares.
I think it's one of the oldest mathematic memories that I have, doing large magic squares.
There are techniques for doing the magic squares when it's an even number but for instance
you would do like this.
A child can learn how to do this.
And I often explain about this in the schools - it gives you some sense of mystery and power
of mathematics and algorithmics.
And there you are Brady, see, it's magic.
BRADY: So basically this is to entertain journalists?
That's correct.
But a bit more than that.
In this particular case the interview was intended for children.
If I tell the children "you know mathematics is so good for the GDP because its so good
for technology" and so on - not sure they will like it.
But if I tell them when I was a kid, at your age, I loved to do this kind of figures and
it was kind of making me dizzy in a way to see the properties of the numbers - this was my
start - and then it became my job.
BRADY: How do you find striking that balance Sometimes when you're talking to people about
mathematics you have to talk about things like GDP and the important role it plays in
society.
And other times you just want to show someone a magic square and just excite them - is that
not enough, exciting them?
Does it frustrate you that you're always having to come up with these justifications
for mathematics?
You have to justify.
Part of the reason is there has been some excess in the past I guess in insisting on
mathematics for itself - mathematics for the the beauty of it - and somehow we have to
insist also on the other side now.
But it's okay, you have to balance.
Every time I say something about the utility of mathematics, I will balance it with something
about its beauty.
And vice versa.
BRADY: It's unusual to hear a mathematician talk like that, you sound almost half politician.
You think that's important?
Pure mathematics is not enough these days, you've got to sing for your supper?
In front of you is not just a mathematician, I'm director of an institute, already six
years.
For the past four years I have been supporting a project of expanding my institution and
managed to raise 13-14 million Euros for that project.
This can only be achieved if you know how to talk to society; talking to businessmen,
talking to bankers, talking to politicians, talking to school masters, talking to everybody.
If you don't manage to talk the way they understand, you will not become their friend.
BRADY: But when you were younger man doing some of your work you're most famous for - most
awarded for - were you thinking like that then?
Or were you just doing it for the pleasure and was it just about mathematics then?
You know when I chose my subject, Boltzmann Equation, my adviser wrote for me the Boltzmann
Equation, okay one variant of the Boltzmann Equation, I asked is it useful and who used
it?
And for me at that time this was an important question.
To know that it was important in the modelling of rarefied gases, important for construction
of shuttles or planes or simulation of what goes on around the wing of the plane and so
on.
It was important for me.
And later when I worked on it I discovered I really loved it for the beauty of the study,
that the more I was going into it and the more it was a world opening for me.
It was a curiosity that was driving me then.
But to get into it I first had to be convinced of its utility.
There's no shame in something being useful.
Somehow it's a little bit of poison that Hardy has instilled in our minds, making us feeling
ashamed of what is useful.
These were other days, other times and different context.
Now we should not be ashamed of what is useful and even understand that when it is useful
it is even more beautiful.
There has to be some useful and some useless.
Sometimes the useful becomes useless, sometimes the useless will become useful.
There has to be room for all kinds of mathematicians and it's a big illusion to think that there
is a real recipe to decide what has to be funded and what should not.
You know you have to allow some uncertainty in the system.
If you try to predict, you lose the most interesting parts.
BRADY: Do you think mathematicians are good at outreach?
Do you think mathematicians are good at explaining themselves?
In general mathematicians are not so good at outreach.
And there are reasons for that.
Some reasons are related to the field itself; because we go into such details.
You know even between ourselves mathematicians it is difficult to communicate.
It's so hard to communicate between mathematicians of different specialties.
To talk to the oouter public, the outer audience, is an even greater challenge.
You have really get to the point, understand what you want to share and so on.
Another reason is when you are into mathematics you have been so high on the scale of complexity
of reasoning that you are living in some kind of altered reality.
You think that everybody on the street is able to understand complicated reasoning and
so on.
And you get very frustrated when you discover that's not the case.
And then there's a third reason, I guess.
Which has to do with, how do you say, the business model of mathematics so to speak.
The physicists, the chemists, the biologists - they are often in contact with the industry.
Or the people who run big teams, they have to negotiate budgets, fundings, with the big
pharmacy companies, or with the big sponsors, otherwise they don't have enough funding for
the experiments and so on.
And so they their learn to --- their rhetoric and speech and so on.
It struck me when I first attended the conferences of Nobel Prizes how good were some of the
people, Nobel Laureates, in physics and biology, to present themselves.
And I attributed that to the fact that they had to do it already many times for the funding
in their career to people who were really out of their world, and it was very important
to convince those people to trust them.
BRADY: And historically mathematicians don't need as much funding?
Historically we don't need the companies, historically no such need for support.
I need the companies now because I am working on this outreach interface.
We are soon opening some kind of museum of mathematics - soon means in three years or
something.
This will be impossible without the contribution of the industry, the economic world, so I
had to learn to talk to them otherwise my projects could not have come
into life.

Robots Can Now Sense Your Emotions Via Radio Waves - Duration: 3:31.
Scientists have invented a machine that can detect emotions even if someone's expression
doesn't change.
Can you read what I'm feeling?
Hey everyone, Amy here for DNews.
Part of what makes us human is that we experience emotions.
But it's still really hard to know what other people are feeling, especially when
they're trying to hide it.
So, what if machines could read and interpret people's emotions for us?
Well, scientists at MIT have thought of that, and have developed a device that can detect
how you're feeling without even looking at your face.
See, we display emotions not just through facial expressions and body language, but
with our entire physiology, things like our heart rate, breathing, blood pressure, and
sweat.
These are the exact changes that lie detectors look for when you're hooked up to a polygraph.
But polygraphs require being physically plugged in, which is an awfully cumbersome way to
get a read on someone's mental state.
That's where MIT's device, dubbed "EQ-Radio", comes in.
It works by bouncing radio waves off a person and analyzing how those waves are affected
by the rising and falling of their chest or the vibrations of the pulse under their skin.
With this information, it can measure the time between heartbeats and breaths, and notice
when they're speeding up or slowing down.
The device then uses an algorithm to determine how the data matches up with different emotional
states.
Researchers trained to recognize the emotions of joy, pleasure, sadness and anger in 12
subjects, and it was able to identify these emotions correctly 87% of the time.
And when it was shown a new subject, it could guess how they were feeling more than 73%
of the time.
The scientists think this technology could be used for things like market research, like
telling a production company what you're feeling when you watch their movie.
It could also help monitor people's emotional states for medical reasons, such as observing
people with depression.
But let's not forget about facial expressions, because the technology for reading faces is
also getting better.
5 years ago, Google's algorithms could pick out faces less than 16% of the time, which
isn't very impressive.
Now software is so good at seeing and identifying faces, apps on your phone can automatically
swap them.
Computers can measure the details of your face remarkably well, and by analyzing the
relationship of certain points on your face, they can guess how you feel with surprising
accuracy.
According to a 2014 study published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences,
researchers at The Ohio State University created a program that could identify not just the
six basic emotions of happiness, sadness, fear, anger, surprise, and disgust, but a
total of 21 complex emotions, things like "happy surprise" or "angry fear".
They took 5,000 photographs of 230 volunteers reacting to different scenarios.
After pinpointing a variety of facial muscles that are used to express emotion, the software
was able to identify basic emotions 97% of the time and complex emotions almost 77% of
the time.
This could help us diagnose and understand people with autism, who have trouble expressing
emotions, or people with post-traumatic stress disorder, and it may even allow us to learn
what's happening in their brains when they feel complex emotions.
So, computers that know how you feel might just improve medical science, even if it is
a little creepy.
Oh no, now they know I'm uncomfortable and it's just making me more uncomfortable...
These algorithms that read your emotions wouldn't be possible without machine learning, the
first step towards Artificial Intelligence.

5 Real Prison/Jail Escapes Caught On Camera #2 - Duration: 10:49.
In this video, we take a look at 5 more prison escapes caught on camera.
Some of these are pretty intense, and others downright bizarre.
This list has it all - it features bulldozers, fistfights, helicopters and excrement-coated pipes.
Now that i've got your attention, let's start.
Bulldozer hits Danish Prison
On August 27th 1995, 12 inmates escaped when
a large bulldozer was driven into the walls of a maximum security prison near Copenhagen,
Denmark.
The prison held some of Denmark's most dangerous and notorious prisoners, and the escapees
were a seriously hazardous crowd made up of four robbers, three drug dealers and five
murderers.
While these prisoners fled and made a break for freedom, others stayed and decided not
to jeopardise their chances of legally leaving the jail at a later point.
Prior to the escape, a former inmate of the prison had been secretly communicating with
those still incarcerated using cell phones which had been thrown over the walls.
This sneaky perpetrator then stole the bulldozer, smashed through the walls and released the
prisoners, as had been arranged.
The footage, captured on a video camera, shows prisoners sprinting from the boundaries of
the prison while guards flee after them, thoroughly confused and unsure as what to do.
As the prisoners run, the look pretty jubilant and happy, one of them even excitedly shouting
'yeah!' as he runs beyond the camera.
The recording stops when one guard abruptly places his hand over the lens in order to
prevent any further filming.
Though they could not anticipate the attack, the guards were clearly concerned that the
footage would make them look incompetent and inadequate.
The whole clip is pretty chaotic
It took more than 6 months to rebuild the broken wall.
The prison team also installed extra security cameras to prevent future breakout attempts.
all 12 of the escapees were captured within a month and returned to their cells.
Romanian Prison Escape
In Iasi, north-eastern Romania, in 2015, a
guard was tasked with the job of escorting two prisoners to a van.
In theory, a pretty simple job and all very routine stuff.
However, CCTV footage from the day shows what ends up as a pretty botched effort.
As the three are walking out of the prison and towards the van, which is in the parking
lot, one of the prisoners sees an opportune chance to escape and quickly bounds over a
fence.
Seeing this, the unfortunate and flustered prison guard opens a gate and goes running
after his escapee.
Having done so, he leaves the other criminal alone in the parking lot with an open gate
in front of him.
Finding himself in a wonderfully fortunate position, the second prisoner does what anyone
else would do and takes the chance to join his fellow escapee.
He sprints through the open gate and also makes a run for it.
While he runs in one direction, the other prisoner runs in another, and the guard can
of course only chase one of them.
The prisoners were not brought back to the complex on the day of their escape as they
could not be located.
One of them was found at a later date, while the fate of the other is unknown.
So much for high security.
Trent Archie Prison Escape
In June 2011, when convicted murderer Trent
Archie decided to break out of his Texas jail cell, he didn't do so with any contrived tricks
or complex plans - he simply tried to smash and fight his way through the front door.
Just before 3am, he and fellow inmate, Davis McLeskey brutally attacked and assaulted three
officers in order to make their way to the exit.
CCTV videos from the early hours of the morning show the pair on the prison telephones, purporting
to speak to people from outside the compound.
Archie claimed that he wanted to call his mother at such an early hour in order to catch
her before she set off for her pre-dawn morning paper delivery drop.
Officers believe that Archie was in fact just pretending to be on the phone, waiting for
his opportunity to escape.
They remained on the phones - or perhaps not - for 20 minutes, seizing their chance when
one of the officers opened the door.
The footage then shows them grapple and wrestle with officers, punching and kicking them in
their attempt to escape.
One of the officers was later treated for a head injury.
While Archie managed to escape, McLeskey wasn't so lucky, and was instead taken back to his
cell, shirtless and hopeless.
Archie, who is serving forty years for murder, was finally tracked down three days later
and taken back to prison.
His mother, Jacqueline, was charged with attempting to help him hide.
His two - yep, two - girlfriends were also charged.
After being discovered, Archie, who was undergoing a new hearing, claimed that he had attempted
to escape because he 'wasn't getting a fair trial'.
He was subsequently charged for his attempt to escape.
The prison captain later vowed to tighten security at the prison, which has seen at
least seven successful escapes within a 22-year period.
Prisoner Attempts to Escape Through Toilet
In perhaps the smelliest escape attempt in all human history, In 2015, an inmate at a
Brazilian prison attempted to flee via the unusual option of the communal toilet.
The footage, which you can almost smell through the screen, shows him being pulled from the
excrement-covered sewage pipes which lead from the lavatory.
At the maximum security prison, his other escape options must have been pretty limited,
and he was left with this one and only stinky alternative.
Unfortunately for him, the pipes are tighter and narrower than he had anticipated, so the
video shows him wedged in, stuck in the putrid environment of the tubes.
He persistently wiggles and wobbles to get himself free, but he finally gives up the
ghost and decides to let two men aid his recapture.
A later shot of the man shows him standing upright
and covered in waste, his malodourous position no doubt compounding his disappointment at
not being able to escape.
The exact location of the prison and the identity of the fragrant vagrant are not known, but
it is believed that anyone in the region of South American can smell him if the wind blows right.
Still, you must admire him for his unsavoury attempt.
God loves a trier, though he might need a wash before he steps through the pearly gates.
Canadian Helicopter Prison Escape
In something resembling a heist movie, two Canadian prisoners attempted a daring escape
from prison via helicopter.
The bold attempt occurred in 2013, and footage shows the pair clambering up a rope to reach
the chopper, which is placed on the prison roof in Quebec.
The two planned and plotted the escape via secret text messages which they had sent from smuggled phones.
Their accomplices rented a helicopter under seemingly innocent means, then hi jacked it
at gunpoint to aid them in their escape.
The pilot, no doubt taken by surprise, was then forced to fly to the prison while being
threatened by the hi jackers.
Officers could see the escape taking place, but were reluctant to interfere as the helicopter
hi jackers were armed and dangerous.
Throughout their ascent up the rope, both inmates seem thoroughly incapable of making
it to the roof.
The whole attempt seems pretty dim and dithery, and looks to be carried out with little urgency.
When the inmates seemingly cannot complete the climb to the roof, the helicopter takes
off with them hanging from the rope.
Before they manage to successfully float away, the rope then gets stuck, somewhat ironically,
on a CCTV camera.
The footage then shows them rise and drift out of shot.
They then landed nearby in a getaway car and made their breakaway attempt in the relative
safety of the vehicle, probably pleased just to have their feet firmly on the ground.
The escapees and their accomplices were then found just hours after they floated away to freedom.
Not quite the Hollywood ending they'd planned.

Andrea Cole-Wahl 3 Minute Thesis Presentation - Duration: 3:11.
Good morning.
Sirex noctilio has the potential to become the next great economic pest in southern pine
planted forests.
This is an industry that employees over 600 thousand people throughout the region and
provides products that everyone uses every day – from wood, to paper, to your toilet.
Researchers estimate that if this pest were to become established in southern pine forests,
there could be a loss of revenue up to $1.9 billion over the next 30 years.
Sirex noctilio is a wood wasp that is native to Europe, northern Africa and parts of Asia
and has been introduced throughout the southern hemisphere and is decimating planted pine
forests in those areas.
It was introduced into New York in 2004 and has slowly spread to southern Pennsylvania
and north in to Canada.
Before my research, there was no evidence that Sirex noctilio would be introduced in
the southern United States, but there was thought to be a threat because of the Port
of Mobile and the wood packing industry, so that is where my thesis came in.
Sirex Wasps affect pine trees by over positing eggs and at the same time laying fungal spores
from their associated fungus, Amylostereum.
Amylostereum acts on the inside of the pine tree basically causing the tree to have a
stroke and causing the tree not to be able to move water from part to part of the tree.
After inoculation of the fungus, then the tree begins to decay within the inside.
Larva develops and then females are able to complete the lifecycle and fly to the next
tree in the area.
For my thesis, I tracked throughout the state of Alabama and national forests and was able
to collect wood wasp specimens.
I took those specimens to a lab in South Africa where I did biogenetic analysis and was able
to conduct and create trees to see how closely related our native wood wasps are with wood
wasps around the world, as well as the fungus from around the world and the biological control
agent, Nematodes, are microscopic worms.
Also in my study, I looked at how chemicals from our native Southern Yellow Pines affect
the growth rates of Amylostereum from around the world and how it competes with fungi that
are found in our trees natively.
I was also able to look at various aspects of how the interaction between native beetles
and nematodes affect the survivability of the Sirex wasp and its associated fungi in
our forests.
Throughout my thesis, I was not able to find Sirex noctilio in Alabama forests, but I did
find its associated fungi in our forests which leads to bigger questions whether it is I
did not find the wasp and it is here or that the host is not as specific as thought.
Thank you.

[ENG SUB] MY KNK TV #63 (YOUJIN CUT) GOODBYE 2016, WELCOME 2017! - Duration: 1:58.
EP. 63 PART 2/6 To: Youjin
Youjin, Youjin's head is bi.. no, his head is small,
his body is big, his height is tall, and he sings well.
His voice is very good.
His voice is very nice and he's good at games.
The main setback is your gaming.
I want you to stop playing games
when we're in the waiting room, riding in the car,
games when you eat, games before we go out,
mobile games, game machines, computer games..
You are a game.
You always tell me that my taste is strange
and that it's unable to be understood like otaku..
But, you always watch Japanese animations on your phone
like Digimon, Pokemon, or Zzanggu.
Those are cute.
But Youjin hyung, you like female warriors.
The ones that have swords and blonde hair
something like that.
So don't blame me.
You are just as otaku as I am.
Youjin is the king of presisting subbornly.
I don't have to say more about it since he's well known for it
Sometimes he becomes the persisting king alone.. even though everyone is right.
Yesterday when we were practicing,
we were talking about stuff like chairs tipping over backwards
and Inseong said "The ad of a chair tipping over backwards is 리*CF"
And then Youjin hyung said "No, the ad of a chair tipping over backwards is 푸*CF"
They argued like this for 5 minutes and they made a bet
saying that the loser gives the winner 5 dollars.
Then they researched it and found out that Inseong was right.
But then Youjin just took his foot off from it (*this part isn't related to the story*)
I think he dresses well these days.
Youjin-ah, you did great this year
I hope you'll do great next year too! (exact translation is more like "I hope you watch my back next year too")

Democracy Should Be Divided – but Not This Divided, Says Bernard-Henri Lévy - Duration: 6:05.
I'm so sad when I remember the first speech of Barack Obama, which I heard in 2004 in
the Democratic Convention endorsing John Kerry.
He said, "There is no blue states and red states of America, I know only United States
of America."
So such a long way down since this first speech of the young senator of Illinois.
We are so far from the United States of America, which he was thinking of at this time.
America is divided as never because of what?
A lot because of Mr. Trump, a lot because of the sort of campaign he did; vulgar, populist,
aggressive, counting on fascists passions in part of his electorate.
And this has created an unprecedented division in the American society.
I like division.
It belongs to democracy.
It's part of democracy.
Democracy is, of course, a society divided with itself inside itself but not to this
point.
if I had to make a parallel I would say probably Berlusconi.
In general America show the road and Europe follows.
And this time it's a European country who did show the world and America has followed.
Because the pattern, the pattern.
The godfather of this sort of new spectacular populism, populism based on TV, populism based
on real television – is Silvio Berlusconi in Italy, exactly the same.
He started with the same program as Donald Trump.
He acted with women exactly as Donald Trump is reported, true or false, to behave.
He had the same sort of despise of his enemies and of his friends as Trump, and he, Berlusconi,
created the same sort of division which you are facing today in America.
And it's not very good news because this did cost a lot to Italy.
Italy, which is the very fatherland of art and beauty was partly damaged, if not destroyed,
by these Berlusconi eras, years.
Because this sort of non-politics, it is not politics, politics is a brave great world.
What Berlusconi or trump do is not politics it's something else.
It's a circus, it's games of circus, it's Game of Thrones.
It's deals as Trump says, it's cool (coup?).
It is not politics.
It does not have the nobility of politics.
So this sort of non-politics damages strongly a country.
And for someone like me who is so attached to America – I was defined years ago by
my friend Adam Gopnik as an anti-anti-American.
Anti-Americanism for me is a plague.
I hate that.
It's a form of fascism – anti-Americanism as itself.
And so for me I am such a lover of America, such a friend of America.
I spent a month of my life touring America on the footsteps of Toqueville13 years ago.
It's heartbreaking.
If Trump has full powers, if he acts in America like in a shop of toys where he can buy the
biggest toys or eat the best pastries and fill himself with the most creamy pastries
he can find in the bakery then it will feed anti-Americanism.
If the civil society in this country reinvents the checks and balances system, which will
be frozen with a Republican party who gets everything, Congress, Senate, a lot of governors
and so on.
So the balance, the checks and balances have to come from elsewhere.
From the churches, from the associations of citizens, from new protester movements which
are still to be born.
If this works then I think America will give to the world a new image of itself, which
will be a great one, which will be an image of a great nation standing firmly on its feet
and values and own words against a cartoon president, a caricature of your self.
If there is a sort of democratic uprising, democratic peaceful uprising of civil society
saying, "Not in our name."
If abroad we have the feeling that some of the acts, which will be done are not done
and taken in your name or in the name of a big part of the society, then maybe it will
improve the image of America in the world.

5 Tips, Tricks and Ideas for Toad Don't Jump Levels in Super Mario Maker. - Duration: 6:25.
Hello you lovely mario maker person, my name is Ceave and welcome back!
Today we are going to take a closer look on the second placing idea in the idea of the
year competition, we are going to take a look on five more designs for stages where it is
forbidden for toad to jump.
So you're ready?
Let's do this!
So here's our first idea.
Toad finds himself on top of a couple of bullet blasters on top of lethal sawblades.
These sawblades can't hurt our small mushroom as long as he decides to follow the physical
rules of treasure tracker.
As soon as he tries to jump through the floor decides to collapse and he is forced to kiss
the sharp-blades.
The mechanism behind this is actually super simple.
As soon as the game starts these shells try to hit the pow-block to their right, but they
are stopped by a thwomp.
This thwomp will only block them for as long as toad doesn't jump, as a jumping toad
makes the thwomp angry and he decides to throw himself down.
So now that toad learned his don't jump lesson, let's see what he's actually supposed
to do here.
Luckily for him this room is super simple to survive as long as he plays by the rules.
All he needs to do is to avoid the koopa and the thwomps and he reaches the exit door.
Now he has to activate the small skeleton roller coaster which is hidden behind this
sawblade and the p-switch on top of the thwomp to the left gets triggered.
Hooray.
In our next idea it's not only forbidden to jump for toad but to gain any vertical
height.
Sadly for him there are tons of obstacles which try to push him into the air if he isn't
careful.
If he hits one of these cannonballs for example everything collapses again.
Here we use buzzy-beetles instead of thwomps to trigger our prevent jumping p-switches.
This is actually a lot more practical than using thwomps as you don't hit the item
limit too soon with this technique.
If toad stays careful and plays the stage again he soon finds himself trapped in the
middle of a dangerous boss fight.
Here he has to wait for the skewer to destroy all blocks so that a pow-block becomes triggered,
while our small mushroom tries to avoid all the lethal fireballs.
For our next don't jump design we use invisible blocks: This variation is is a little bit
less cinematic than a collapsing stage but probably a lot more useful.
The cool thing about invisible blocks is that it's possible to pass through them in many
ways without triggering them.
In this level our small backpacker has to go through hidden blocks by climbing and using
platforms at first.
Once he made it through the moving vine part he faces a small puzzle.
The exit door is just above him, but as toad learned during this video above doesn't
mean reachable, so he needs to find a way to reach it without hitting A. Luckily there
is a small contraption to his right which helps him.
If toad triggers this skeleton platform the platform will travel directly beneath the
exit.
Now he only needs to escape from here without jumping.
Triggering the p-switch allows him to throw a shell down into this little hole which grows
a vine a few seconds later.
Now he is finally able to escape this idea, and to enter the next one.
The next idea is basically a don't jump autoscroller.
Above toad there are two thwomps on tracks hidden.
Once he jumps the thwomps become angry and trigger a lethal p-switch.
So our poor little mushroom is trapped in between these munchar-pillars.
This on it's own wouldn't be too much of a problem if it wasn't for the horrific dogs
which try to eat him.
Toad now has to avoid getting bitten by the chain-chomps while he can't jump.
That's a little bit unfair, mario would just jump over the munchers and run to the
exit, but mario carries no heavy backpack on his shoulder.
So let's take a look on my favorite don't jump idea.
Toad finds himself in a huge room.
There are bullet-blasters to his left which block each other and some small obstacles
to his right.
The ground isn't made out of brick-blocks which makes toad confident that he won't
fall into a bottomless pit soon.
Together with this key he is now able to go through the door at the beginning.
This door teleports him on top of a moving platform.
The platform would have been reachable by a simple jump before but our small backpacker
was too afraid of the consequences of trying it.
Once the platform made it to the left it lifts one of the bullet blasters into the air which
starts to shoot flying bob-ombs.
Toad is now able to escort one of these flying bombs back to the right where they get ignited
by a fire-blade and explode directly on top of the blocks which block the exit.
How convenient!
So toad played the whole level without jumping once, but was there really a lethal mechanic
hidden in this stage as well which would have killed him if he tried to jump?
Or is ceave playing mind games with him as he got conditioned that jumping kills him
but in this room it would have had no consequences?
Should he try to make a last little jump before he leaves the room?
Just to know for sure?
He decides … not to do so.
Thanks for watching I hope you enjoyed this little video, if you enjoyed this little video
don't forget to leave me a thumbs up and maybe you…
no I'm just kidding, let's find out.
So here is what happens if toad jumps.
The munchers get killed.
The pow-blocks drop down and the exit door becomes unreachable for our small mushroom
and he is forced to restart the room.
But the really cool thing about this contraption is that it's able to remember when toad
jumped.
If toad jumped at the beginning of the stage for example nothing would have happened until
he reached this area again, but then the exit would have gotten blocked.
It was a pretty good idea by toad not to play with the fire, before.
The mechanic behind this is actually incredibly simple.
There are buzzy beetles hidden out of sight once again.
If toad jumps they drop down and travel into this little hole.
Once the p-switch at the end becomes triggered they fall down and hit the pow-block.
But if toad never jumped there is no shell in here and the pow-block stays lonely in
his little hole.
So thanks for watching, I hope you enjoyed this little video, if you enjoyed this little
video don't forget to leave me a thumbs up and maybe you feel especially speedrun-challenge
today and want to hit the subscribe as well.
I hope you have a wonderful day and to see you soon, goodbye!

Donald Trump Plans to "Keep America Great" - @midnight with Chris Hardwick - Duration: 1:28.
President-Elect Donald Trump
will be taking office immediately
and then heading off to vacation this weekend,
but he's already got his eye on 2020.
In an interview with the Washington Post,
Trump said he's looking forward
to trademark his next campaign slogan, which is not gonna be,
"Do svidaniya, American comrades."
-(laughter) -It's...
In 2020, he plans to run with "Keep America Great,"
showing just how confident he is
that there will still be an America
-in four years. -Nah. -(laughter)
But people online were quick to point out
that they'd heard that phrase somewhere before.
Oh, yes. "Keep America Great"
was the tagline for the third installment
-of The Purge: Election Year. -Oh, my God.
(laughter, applause and cheering)
But at least he has a consistent vision for this country.
-So comedians... -(laughter and groaning)
...since that motto might need to change, what's another
movie-inspired slogan for Trump's 2020 campaign?
-Bryan. -You want the truth? I can't handle the truth.
-(laughter) -HARDWICK: All right. Very good.
-(applause) -Points.
Very good.
Erin Gibson.
I'm just a girl standing in front of a boy,
asking him to please not get us into a war with China.
-(laughter, applause, cheering) -All right, points. Points.
-Judah Friedlander. -Uh,
Toto, we're not in Kansas.
Uh, we're in Canada.

Throwback - One Day on Heartland, Season 7 Finale - Duration: 19:54.
Here they are ladies and gentlemen
let's hear it for our beautiful flag-bearers!
I want them to be cheering along with the television set
I want them to feel the the ups and
downs I want their hearts just to go
crazy when they see that helicopter take
off
This has been a really dynamic year for
Amy and I feel like there's some
challenges presented that she has never
faced in her life and for me, portraying
Amy, it was the best challenge that
could have ever been thrown at me
[Whispering] I'll be right back. I love you.
Amy! Amy, Hey!
Ty? Ty.... Ty?!
I'm right here Amy. I'm right here, what's going on?
Nurse! Nurse!
When Amy starts doing really well in her life she feels like hey I'm not pulling my
weight I need to step up so he links a
bit of these these past few years from
his childhood to his present and he gets
too caught up in it and he loses sight
of what it's really about the
relationship its kind of his last chance
to actually get some money and and
really come through and what he wants to
provide for Amy.
Let's have a toast.
What's the occasion?
I'm in.
Let's buy charger.
You won't regret this.
Better not.
This is crazy!
I can't believe I'm going to own a Futurity contender
Here's to a big payday.
The last few episodes leading up to
this finale we're putting them through a
couple of rough spots to say the least I
mean Amy's wondering if she can never
trust Ty in the way she always has and
anything like this puts a strain on any
relationship so it's going to be
interesting to see how they deal with that that.
I've been thinking a lot about
Charger and I'd like to take a look at him and
see if there's anything that I can do to help.
I can come by the arena tomorrow morning.
I don't understand Amy, what about your job with Ahmed?
You let me worry about him.
Ok well what about us?
One thing at a time.
My favourite horse to work with? You are going too see him today.
I love Stormy, who plays Spartan.
He's probably my favourite horse, but
I've got a new favourite that I just fell in love with a couple of days ago.
His name is Hi-Fi and we've never
used him on the show before.
But he plays the role of Charger.
Who you are going to see as a barrel horse.
And he is my ultimate favorite so when I'm riding
him I'll come by and say, "This is Charger, this is my
new favourite horse...
We knew we have to have a crowd and we know
we have some pretty loyal fans and it was it was
fantastic, the response within minutes we had
our crowd and we have the people who
were the biggest fan so I think we
discovered at our charity event this summer
how many people were willing to travel
to be be here and to see our stars and to
see our crew at work and I think it's
fabulous for them to see
behind-the-scenes and I think
that for us it's just so great to hear
the cheering I kind of feel it's real.
It was great.
They were some of the best fans we've ever had
on the show really enthusiastic and really
excited and and I got to meet a bunch of
them after they were done and then take
pictures and stuff so that was really
cool that we sort of had a win-win with
that where they were really great and helped
us out and then they also got to see a
part of the show and how we make it and
we sort of got to bring them into our
world and show them a piece of that so it was cool.
It was so exciting having 300 fans fill
the stadium because it's one of those
things that typically we do our job and
there's the crew around but we don't see
a reaction to the episodes until they air.
Well, having people here in the audience
was like doing a live performance and it
was really cool to be able to go over
things with them and say okay this is
why we do it this way this is the
process and now we're going to move on
and we're going to do this but that's
only because we've accomplished these
steps and so I'm talking it through with
them and I loved having them there just to say
okay this is what we do everyday and
this is why we have so much fun but it's
also a lot of work.
We shot in this arena
for two days before we shot it as it's
sort of like it is in its natural state
and we wanted to transform it into
an event so it feels like it has put on
a big show for the
hundred-thousand-dollar Futurity so we
want to transform it into kind of a kind
of sort of rock show kind of feel like
they made it a real event so we sat down
with plans of the arena and talked to Rick Roberts
about what he had in mind for the
backdrops and all that sort of thing and
then plan the lighting out the guys came in
and took two days and set it all up and here we are
it's just working along with the horse
wranglers back and forth making sure we
get the right horses selected for the
riders and then for the actors and stuff
that's an important thing because you
need to have the real barrel racers that
do this for a living on their horses
matched up with our actress that is
playing the star there
that has her horse and make it so all of the shots
tie-in properly for the director and
and it keeps it exciting and real.
So for me as an
actor preparing lines and things like
that really wasn't relevant for today
because there's not a whole lot of dialogue
it's all action based so when I go through my
scripts and I think about how Amy's
feeling in each scene because there's
about twenty four scenes in a very short
period of time that I want to make sure
I can track that because we're not
shooting in order we're filming you know
maybe the scene that comes last for
something that first and so on so I want
to just make sure when I'm doing my
homework that I know where Amy is feeling
and where her emotions are at each one
of those points.
I'm just reviewing the script reviewing the arc of the character
making sure that I'm hitting the beats
that I want to hit with the certain
storylines that we're going through a
lot of the work is done for me at least
I do a lot of the work when we do the
read-throughs in the scripts and just sort of
arcing out where I'm going to go and what's
going to happen and what's happening each
scene so the day before I just kind of
review that and then just sort of tweak
anything or think about anything
So what happened last night?
Charlene called me out of the blue. Asked me out.
turns out she just wanted to tell me
she'll be riding another guy's horse at the
barrel race on Saturday.
I tried talking her into switching
Did it work?
No. We actually had a good time.
Our director, Dean Bennett is incredible and
he's been here since the pilot so he's been here from
the very beginning and he knows the
heart of Heartland he knows how to
capture those emotions and he's so great
at working with us to accomplish that.
Dean is a painter. He is a visual painter
and he also is a real painter in real life
but in terms of cinema and TV he's he's
so good at painting and he approaches
everything like that as he has broad
strokes and does little, you know, designs
and then you'll see you just try this
you can have this feels and he's a joy
to work with because he kind of gives
you a framework to play with and he says, 'now play'
He really is a bit of an artist. We work
really well together, I'm usually the
writer of those scripts and so we have a
kind of a of a connection I guess so
that he really knows what I'm looking
for and and I've when I see what he's
done it's always so much better than I expected.
Do you want to watch the video with me?
Yeah...
Look how fast he is, it's unbelievable.
Wait a minute
Look at this. Right.... there.
You see how high his head is?
There's no way he can see that first
barrel, it's physically impossible for him with
his head that high
There's a lot of teamwork that goes into
all of the scenes we do on Heartland
Heather typically writes all of the
finales for the show and they're always
so full of emotion so full of adrenaline
it's one of those things that you're
going to laugh and cry and everything in
between in the same episode.
And she's very good at that visual creating sort
of visual tension and and really big
scope of the Heartland world as you can
see there is great pot of gold racing Futurity signs...
Here they are ladies and gentlemen
Let's hear it for our beautiful flag-bearers!
Welcome to the Hudson Pot of Gold Barrel Racing Futurity race!
What is she doing? How does she expect to win a race going backward?
Well folks, there's a tactic
I've never seen before
I don't people want people to ever feel
that the show looks lit looks like a studio or
looks fake it's gotta feel real it's
gotta feel like an event
and even the way we shot this we
wanted to light in such a way that we
could shoot the lighting and it was all
kind of you know is visible to the
audience so that it's not like we were
hiding a bunch of movie lights in the
ceiling and then had to shoot around and
we just want to give everybody
everything and make it feel real
feel like you walked into this event.
Craig does a great job of setting up the
world that we film Heartland in and
he's coming here and he said okay so
what do we want to accomplish we want to
see this is a big deal we want to see it
as a great Futurity race so let's bring
in proper lighting that demonstrates
that and let's have the audience
properly lit and featured let's have the
horses properly lit there's a
spotlight above each one of the barrels
all the important components of the
scene makeup the entire world of
Heartland it's so important that we achieve that.
I always like to look at
them like he's like a Jedi like he's
kind of like the silent but very
skillful and tactful man that he would
be able to say like these aren't the
droids you're looking for kind of thing
like all the light is perfect right and
you would believe him because he's so good at
what he does and I'm not just saying that...
We didn't want
it to look like a television show we
wanted to every week to look like a mini
movie and I think Alberta comes with
that on its own and it's just beautiful
and to capture that beauty with the
lighting and is is amazing he's brilliant.
Come on Amy!
And she's done it!
Amy Fleming riding Charger!
That is just insane.
you know it wouldn't have been a good
season ender if she'd lost but Amy is Amy
and I don't think she'd ever let anyone
else win accept her so it's kind of fun
to watch her rise to the occasion and do
the part I like the best is when she
does what's not expected and literally
comes into the arena backwards and and
that's her way of keeping that horse
fact she understands the horse's psyche in
a way that a lot of other people
wouldn't and that's the key to her winning.
I think everybody really looks up to Amy in
the horse world because they know she's
kind of a woman of all trades she can do
it all and there's a little bit of a
fantasy element to that and Amy can do
no wrong type thing but at the same time
it's something that everyone can aspire
to be like because it's so great to be
able to be versatile in all disciplines
and for me you know I ride primarily
western on my time off with my own
horses but I love jumping and I love
riding english and i love barrel racing
and I love... there's so many different
elements and the thing about Amy is she
loves to try them all and she never says
no I'm just a western rider I'm not
going to jump or I'm not going to... she says
hey sure I'll try it. If it deals with horses, I can do it.
I think in the Heartland world
being myself Graham thinking reading the
scripts that I didn't think it was gonna
happen where he was like, 'oh my god, I lost, no!'
But in terms of the reality of the
show that we're playing I think that's
really intense and I think him putting
all his money on the line for this all
the savings he's sweating bullets
he's really sweating bullets and that's
part of the thing that I want to work in
this that that my character is really
nervous and and and sweat bullets but he
doesn't want to show anybody that
because
he's trying to keep it under control.
I have something to tell you
I have something to tell you too.
Ok you first.
Ok. Uhm... Ahmed offerred me a job
on his team
Wha.... wow.
I don't know what to do I mean it's hard to accept it
but it's also hard to turn that down but I
would never do without your go ahead
you should go
really?
Yeah...we'll be fine.
It's only for a few months
You gotta do it. You have to.
We'll make it work.
Absolutely.
Amy and Ty are a point in their relationship right now
where they are a little bit unsure of the future
it's not that they don't want to be
together but they want to make sure that
if they are going to be getting married
for the right reasons and this episode
kind of it it really tests the
relationship and it shows some some
great triumph but it also shows some of
that tension that you know is
involved in any relationship and you
just have to figure out how to work past that.
He has a newfound awareness of his
love for this woman and his care for
this relationship but also what if this
was to happen how's it going to change
that how would I deal with this so he
really in my eyes what I've tried to do
with them is really mature him in terms
of how he sees his life how he sees his
relationship what he wants for his life
when he wants in his relationship and what's
actually occurring and the conflicts of
all those things coming together.
That horse turned out to be a winner after all
looks like you did do something right huh?
Thanks, Tim.
Ah...you're welcome. Not so sure you know
what you are doing right now.
Over this season, in particular
I think he really grew up and matured
probably because of Amy's accident but
also because he's just more confident in
his place in the world like he's
studying to be a vet, he has goals
he's in love with Amy, they're engaged so
his life has taken such a huge turn from
when we first met him in episode one of
season one so I can't wait to see where
we're taking him next actually because it can
only be in a in a direction that makes
him even more mature and more able to
cope with the world on every front
We'll talk every day
Absolutey.
I'll be back before you know it.
I love you.
I love you too.
We have to get going if we want to stay on schedule.
The Prince has made a difference
in Amy's life and it affects Ty in a great way.
I'll take good care of her.
I learned a valuable lesson at one point
on another show show called Road To Avon Lee
And it was that you make them laugh
and you make them cry within minutes
maybe even seconds an audience
should feel like they've been dragged
through a knothole.

Monkeys Fist Knot Cufflinks - 925 Sterling Silver Platinum Plated - Fort Belvedere- - Duration: 1:44.
These Cufflinks are made out of a solid 925 Sterling Silver and you can't see it in
the pictures but once you put it in your hands, you can really tell because they are more
than twice as heavy as normal cuff links.
Because silver tarnishes very quickly and easily we added a platinum plating so they
stay nice and clear without tarnishing and you won't stain your cuffs.
The large ball is 12mm.
The small one is about 10mm and we designed them so that they work with 99% of shirt cuffs
out there.
So what's so special about these cuff links?
Well first of all they are inspired by original monkey fist knot.
They are handmade in Germany by a master goldsmith.
They are not factory made and they have very intricate rope details.
They have a beautiful maker's mark and it will not come off and the plating is very
thick so these are pieces you can actually pass on to your children and grandchildren.
We believe these cufflinks are perfect to start because they are very versatile and
you get a lot of wear out of them because they work with formal outfits, semi formal
or more casual odd coat combinations.
These cufflinks have a bar and no moving parts and therefore they will last longer than any
cufflink out there.
Overall, it's the perfect first pair to have in your wardrobe and if you have one
in gold or in rose gold you are basically covered for every situation there is.
If I have to pick my very first pair of cufflinks it will either be this one or one in gold.

Disturbing Footage Of A Terrified German Shepherd On The Set Of 'A Dog's Purpose' I TMZ Live - Duration: 5:46.
HARVEY: WE GOT SOME VERY
DISTURBING FOOTAGE OF A VERY BIG
MOVIE THAT IS ABOUT TO COME OUT
WIDE CALLED "A DOG'S PURPOSE"
AND THE VIDEO SHOWS A TERRIFIED
GERMAN SHEPHERD BEING CAJOLED
AND PUSHED INTO THE WATER BY A
TRAINER.
CHARLES: YOU CAN SEE THIS DOG
DOES NOT WANT TO GO IN IS
LEANING AGAINST THE TRAINER
TRYING TO RUN AWAY.
WE'LL LET YOU LISTEN A LITTLE
BIT OF WHAT'S GOING ON HERE.
>> SHE WANTS TO GET AWAY.
OH, THERE IT GOES.
HE'S GOING TO END UP GOING IN
WITH HIM.
>> HERE, BOY.
>> NO.
CHARLES: I KNOW THAT THERE'S A
PERSON THERE ON SET WHO'S
LAUGHING BUT WE'VE SPOKEN TO
PEOPLE CONNECTED TO THE
PRODUCTION AND WE KNOW THAT
THERE WAS AT LEAST ONE PERSON
WHO WAS EXTREMELY DISTURBED BY
WHAT THEY SAW GOING ON ON THE
SET.
HARVEY: BY THE WAY, WE ALSO HAVE
THE DOG IN THE WATER.
CHARLES: THE DOG DOES EVENTUALLY
GET INTO THE WATER.
WATCH WHAT HAPPENS.
HARVEY: THIS IS THE DOG IN THE
WATER.
CLEARLY --
CHARLES: THE DOG WENT UNDER.
YOU CAN HEAR THE DIRECTOR OR
SOMEONE YELLING CUT IT, CUT IT.
HANDLERS RUSH IN.
ACTUALLY, THE PEOPLE WHO
PRODUCED THE MOVIE IS AMBLEN
ENTERTAINMENT.
UNIVERSAL IS THE DISTRIBUTOR.
HARVEY: WE SENT THEM THE VIDEO
BEFORE WE POSTED IT ON THE
WEBSITE AND THEY SAID THAT THEY
ARE LOOKING AT THIS.
THEY SAID THEY'RE INVESTIGATING
IT.
THEY CARE DEEPLY ABOUT THESE
ANIMALS AND AGAIN, SOMETIMES
THERE ARE MANDATES THAT GO OUT
FROM EXECUTIVES AND THEN THE WAY
THEY'RE EXECUTE SLED A WHOLE
OTHER THING.
BUT THE QUOTE, FOSTERING A SAFE
ENVIRONMENT AND ENSURING THE
ETHICAL TREATMENT OF OUR ANIMAL
ACTORS WAS OF UTMOST IMPORTANCE
TO THOSE INVOLVED IN THOSE
MAKING THE FILM AND WE WILL LOOK
INTO THE CIRCUMSTANCES
SURROUNDING THIS VIDEO.
SO THEY ARE CLEARLY CONCERNED
ABOUT WHAT THEY SAW.
THEY'RE LOOKING AT OTHER CLIPS
SO SEE IF THEY CAN GIVE THIS
SOME CONTEXT.
CHARLES: WE SHOULD EXPLAIN.
THIS IS A POOL BUILT OUTSIDE
WINNIPEG, CANADA, WHEN THEY WERE
BUILDING THIS IN 2015.
THEY HAVE OUTBOARD MOTORS
CREATING THIS.
THEY'RE TRYING TO RECREATE THIS
SCENE OF A RUSHING RIVER AND THE
DOG JUMPS IN IT'S JUST REALLY --
HARVEY: IT'S TOUGH TO WATCH.
CLEARLY: THE DIRECTOR THAT YOU
HEARSAY CUT IT IS LASSE
HALLSTROM AND HE HAS A LOT OF
EXPERIENCE WORKING WITH ANIMALS
IN THE PAST.
HE DID "A DOG'S TAIL."
THIS IS NOT HIS FIRST RODEO.
WHICH TO ME MAKES ME CONCERNED.
CHARLES: WE DON'T KNOW THAT
ANYTHING ELSE HAPPENED ON
ANOTHER SET.
HARVEY: AND SOMETIMES THERE ARE
MULTIPLE DIRECTORS.
CHARLES: WE'RE TOLD BY PEOPLE
CONNECTED TO THIS THAT LASSE WAS
ON SET DURING THE SHOOTING HERE.
HARVEY: AGAIN, AMBLEN IS LOOKING
INTO IT, THEY'RE INVESTIGATING
IT.
CHARLES: THE BEST WE KNOW THE
DOG WAS OK.
HARVEY: THE DOG SEEMS LIKE IT'S
OK.
VAN: VERY, VERY DISTURBING FOR
HIM TO LOOK -- TO LOOK AT IT.
BUT THE GUY'S NAME IS LACY?
HE SHOULD KNOW BETTER.
CHARLIE: I THINK IT'S PRONOUNCED
LASSE.
VAN: THAT'S VERY SAD.
I HAD A GERMAN SHE WERE HEARD
GOING UP.
-- SHEPHERD GROWING UP.
THAT'S BAD STUFF.
CHARLIE: THERE HAVE A -- THERE
ARE A LOT OF MOVIES CHOOSING NOT
TO USE ANIMALS ANYMORE AND USE
ANIMATION INSTEAD.
VAN: THERE'S AWAY NOT TO TAKE IT
THAT FAR AND THE DOG LOOKS
TERRIFIED.
CHARLIE: IF THEY'RE USED ON SET
THEY'RE A LOT OF TIMES
REGULATED.
FOR "WOLF OF WALL STREET" WHERE
JONAH HAD TO STWALO -- SWOLLA A
GOLDFISH, PETA WAS THERE MAKING
SURE THAT WENT OK.
IT'S SAD THEY WEREN'T THERE.
GARY: THE MOVIE -- I DON'T KNOW
IF YOU SAW IT.
IT'S ABOUT THE REINCARNATION OF
A DOG THROUGH DIFFERENT LIVES.
THIS WAS ONE OF THEM.
HARVEY: BY THE WAY, IT COULD
WELL BE -- THIS IS JUST MY GUT,
THAT THIS DOG WAS PROBABLY OK
DURING MOST OF THE FILMING BUT
AT TIMES WASN'T OK AND THEN THE
ISSUE IS WHEN THE DOG WASN'T OK,
DO YOU TAKE A BREAK OR SAY WE
HAVE TO GO ON BECAUSE WE'RE
FILMING OR YOU HAVE ANOTHER DOG.
CALLER: I'M CALLING FROM
MINNESOTA, -- MINNEAPOLIS,
MINNESOTA.
I FIND THIS VERY CONCERNING.
LET'S JUST HOPE IT'S NOT TRUE,
ESPECIALLY BECAUSE THIS COULD BE
VERY DAMAGING TO THE MOVIE'S
REPUTATION BEFORE IT'S EVEN OUT.
"A DOG'S PURPOSE" IS SUPPOSED TO
BE ENLIGHTENING.
DOG LOVERS DON'T WANT TO GO TO
SEE A MOVIE WHERE ANIMALS HAVE
BEEN MISTREATED.
IF IT'S NOT TRUE LET'S SAY ITS
RATINGS WILL REFLECT ON ITS
INNOCENCE.

Let's go, guys.
Let's go.
30 minutes is nothing.
I've taken [bleep]s longer than 30 minutes sometimes,

Anybody have cayenne?
No.

Anybody, cayenne?

Cayenne pepper, anybody?
No?
I haven't seen it, Paulie.
There's a weird vibe in the kitchen today.
We used to help each other during challenges.
And today, we're out for ourselves.
I need some space here.
[interposing voices] - Sorry.
That's all right.
This is not a team challenge.
You know, we're all out for blood.
It's getting real crowded.
Yeah, I know.
Just under 15 minutes to go.
Yes, chef.
Oops, sorry.
That's all right. Kim, behind you.

I'm right there. Heather's right there.
Heidi's right there.

Trump's EPA Pick "Hasn't Looked At" The Dangers Of Lead In Water - Duration: 5:17.
During his confirmation hearings this week, Donald Trump's pick to head the Environmental
Protection Agency, Scott Pruitt, told Senator Ben Cardin that, "Hey, look, I really don't
know about the research that shows that lead is dangerous.
I have not looked into that research."
Now, in his defense, Pruitt did say that he doesn't think anybody should be exposed to
lead.
Okay, good enough, I guess, but here's the thing ... Mr. Pruitt, you want to head the
EPA.
As part of the EPA, you will have to regulate ... I know you Republicans hate to do that,
but you're going to have to ... drinking water.
You're going to have to make sure that you regulate and prevent chemical and heavy metal
contaminants from entering drinking water that gets consumed by the American population.
That's part of your job.
The Supreme Court has said that that's part of your job.
The Supreme Court has also said it's part of your job to enforce the Clean Air Act and
make sure we're not breathing dirty air.
Yeah, you may think that you know that lead is bad, and it is.
You may say that no level of lead is safe for anyone, which is true.
Both independent research, government research, and the EPA, have said that there is no safe
level of lead for Americans in the United States, especially children, but the fact
that you haven't looked into the science on it, is very concerning.
You have to know these things.
You can't just say lead is bad.
You have to know why lead is bad.
It's bad because it screws with brain development and ruins a person's life, essentially.
We have 26,000 children in Flint, Michigan right now who are suffering from the effects
of the lead contaminated water in that city.
26,000 in just one city.
Think about this ... Reports from December showed that there are over 3,000 locations
in the United States where the levels of lead contamination are actually higher than those
in Flint, Michigan.
The only reason we know that there's 26,000 lead contaminated children in the City of
Flint, Michigan, is because people started to study to study it, and test the blood levels
of these kids, once we found out about the problem.
We do not have the money as a country to go around to these other 3,000 locations with
higher levels of lead than Flint, and test all those children, and find out how many
kids we've screwed up because we can't afford to replace water pipes.
I take that back.
We choose to not afford to be able to test these kids.
We choose to not be able to afford to replace water pipes.
Do you know why?
Because, Republicans, like you Mr. Pruitt, decided that it was a better idea to give
tax breaks to the millionaires and billionaires instead of protecting the people of this country.
Do you think anyone, other than the Walton family that owns Walmart, cares more about
the Walton's getting a tax break than they do about drinking clean water?
They don't.
Do you think there's anyone in this country who cares that it's more important for Donald
Trump to get a tax break than to test our children for lead poisoning because we know
that they've been exposed?
That's how this country works right now and it's disgusting.
We are so concerned with giving more money to rich people than we are about making sure
that we're not ruining children's lives because they don't have clean water.
Think about that.
Clean water is less of a priority in the United States than giving 400 families a tax break,
than giving the top 1%, 5% a tax break.
Buying military jets that we don't need is more important than replacing water pipes
to make sure we don't poison 300,000 people in one city.
That's what Mr. Pruitt needs to understand.
That's what he should have been asked during those confirmation hearings.
I know he doesn't have any bearing on tax policy, but we need to know what he thinks
about that if he wants to head the EPA.
Because, the EPA is only as powerful as Congress lets them be.
If Congress does not give them any money because we've given all the money to millionaires
and billionaires, then it doesn't matter what Scott Pruitt thinks about lead poisoning.
Because, he won't have the money to do a single thing about it.

Hilarious predictive text game! 🤣 - Duration: 5:13.
I've just found the most hilarious
iPhone game that you have ever seen. It is
so stupid
you got to download anything it's
just with the predictive text on your phone.
Oh, I can't wait to show you. Check this out.
(Music)
Hi everyone. My name is Paul Thomson and
I cannot wait to show you this game. It
is so stupid and funny i needed to share
with you. I work with this awesome guy
named Hamish and his cool wife Naomi
posted this crazy awesome status update
game thing that I want to share with you
today. Basically you type a phrase into your
iOS device and you tap the predictive
text for it to spit out a result. The
initial phrase that he had to type in
was "my husband loves me because" and then
you had to click the middle button
until it works. So here's the result that
I had "my husband loves me because I love
him to the end he loves me so I hope I
get it." (laughs)
Naturally I wanted to vlog about this
and share with you some more responses
and answers and see what comes up and
then I've got a little game for us at the end
so let's go. If you don't have predictive
text on your phone i'm about to show you
how to make sure that it's on.
So up here you'll see my iPhone first
you're going to want to go into settings
go down to general and scroll down
to keyboard and you'll see there is
a little predictive toggle there. Make sure
that is turned on. What that does is puts
a little bar above your keyboard on your
device. So let's jump in and have a play
around.
Let's start with something fairly simple.
My dog barks when whenever he goes out
to my room to get out some sleep sounds.
I need a shower because i'm so grateful
to be a good way of looking.
I like making videos that for you all
day and you can do anything with it and
it won't be a great game.
I think that pretty much sums up the
video, this is just not a great game
so far. I have a fish named in the world
I have to do so much more to me. That
doesn't make sense.
I don't have a nice car but I'm glad you
came it too late to work for me. This
isn't making sense at all.
I love sports because i am not sure if
it was just going to be the way it out
here but I'm so grateful to be able for
a great game.
Why do I have so many games in here?
My son loves me because I love it so he
is a super kind and super cool app. (laughs)
He's an app. (laughs)
I am a funny
at this point.
(laughs)
Does that mean I'm not
funny at other points
I don't know. So let's play a game.
This is what I want you to do if you're
up for it please.
I would like you to go into whatever
social platform that you follow me on
whichever one you choose it can be
Instagram or Snapchat or Twitter or
Facebook or the YouTube comments and I
want you to start writing the following
sentence here it is
I like your videos because and then I
just want you to tap that middle button
and send me whatever comes up. So I like
your videos because and send me what
comes up. I think it's going to be
hilarious. I'm going to share them all so
whatever you write in be prepared for me
to screenshot it or share it on my social
profiles or maybe even on an upcoming
video. Thank you so much for following
along. If you like the game give it a
thumbs up, if you thought it was
ridiculous
give it a thumbs up and I'd like to
thank Naomi for showing me this awesome
game.
Thank you so much, you're the best and I
really appreciate you and Hamish watching
all of my videos. Much love to you all!
Thank you very much & if you haven't already
subscribed, BOOM,
hit that SUBSCRIBE button and I will see you
all next time. Bye.

Online Mindfulness-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for OCD - Duration: 2:58.
Welcome.
My name is Peter Strong and I'm a professional mindfulness therapist using a system of mindfulness
therapy that I developed many years ago now, that's extremely effective for treating obsessive-compulsive
disorder or OCD.
So, mindfulness-based cognitive therapy for OCD basically teaches you how to break free
from the habit of reactive thinking, that is falling into the stream of reactive thinking,
of rumination or worrying that might get triggered in the minds.
This is a very important step in cutting off the fuel that that fuels anxiety or depression.
So, OCD is simply the result of a process where we become habitually identified with
thoughts, and when we become trapped in our thinking.
The result is that the thoughts tend to propagate more thoughts and this amplifies the reactive
thinking, which in turn amplifies the underlying emotional obsession or anxiety or depression
that feeds the OCD.
So, learning to break this habit of reactive identification is extremely important and
is the principal focus of the mindfulness therapy that I teach online via Skype.
If you'd like to learn more about mindfulness-based cognitive therapy for OCD, simply go to my
websites and then email me.
You can ask any questions you might have about mindfulness therapy for OCD and I'd be happy
to explain to you how the mindfulness therapy approach can work for you.
When you feel ready you can schedule a Skype therapy session with me at a time that works
for you, and then begin to teach you how to apply mindfulness for overcoming obsessive
thinking and for overcoming the anxiety and depression that's associated with obsessive-compulsive
thinking.
Thank you.
