Youtube daily report Apr 17 2017

Hello Everyone, this is Marty. This video is a review of affordable airsoft grenade which is called "KAMOK".

4 years ago I've reviewed 'hand grenade' - another grenade from this manufacturer. It goes without fireworks so you can use any petard have directly in the field.

This is version 4 of this product which is now called KAMOK (Russian product name to successfully pass certification)

You can either buy 1 item or go with a box - 30 or 50 pieces (around 80 RUB for 1 grenade).

The main idea is still the same - you charge it with a petard straight in the field. (either 'Corsair 4' or 'Corsair 5').

The grenade is lightweight - only 80g without a petard. You can't throw it far but it's less traumatic in case you hit someone.

There are some changes introduced.

For instance - the petard hole is centered, makes grenade more balanced to throw.

The body is really sturdy carton now.

Previous model was made of paper, and could be damaged easily.

This time it's nearly impossible to damage the grenade except for intentional actions.

You can also order it together with petards - analogue of 'Corsair' models which is called 'Fiery Dragon'.

I recommend using these petards together with grenades. They have a safety fuse which provides shorter delay.

It's 3-4 seconds against 8-10 even 12 seconds of Corsair 4. No time for enemy to take cover.

Additionally, friction igniter or Corsair-4 petards is less reliable. Powder which acts as a fuse may be scattered on hit with obstacle. Safety wire is much better.

Let's butcher one of the grenades for the sake of science.

There's whole peas inside.

Soft polymer tube for petard housing.

This is friction igniter. Let's try to initiate it.

Didn't work since I damaged it.

Overall the quality is great as always. The carton is good and sturdy.

Some waterproofing added.

I'm satisfied by this product.

Let's summarize. In my last video I said that pin-triggered grenades are most authentic.

The thing is, you can buy 3 KAMOK grenades instead of 1 pin-activated due to price.

Pin-activated are good for well-funded players or players who usually use 1-2 grenades per playing day.

There are cases though which require you to literally grenade-spam something.

Considering this buying a lot of cheaper grenades, maybe even full box for a team might prove being money-efficient.

You could spam with cheaper grenades without trying to hit as precisely and kill as many enemies as possible.

So I would really recommend KAMOK grenades due to high quality and affordable price.

Also note that my subscribers are usually twice as precise when throwing grenades. So subscribe to my channel.

Please like my video, check the links in the description, good luck with your games, and play safe!

[REAL GOT7 Season 4] EP01. Is it Real? - Duration: 19:51.

Let's be honest. REAL GOT7

Hello, this is GOT7.

It's been a long time.

What's this? What are we shooting now?

You can check it on the top left.

Not that one, here.

Could you hide Yugyeom's face?

We are back after a year and half.

Since "Just Right"

It's been a year and half already.

We made a comeback with REAL GOT7 in awhile.

What have we done beside REAL GOT7?

We had GOT7ing, GOT7 Hard Carry…

We had the reality show <Hard Carry>. We had fun.

We did many shows starting with 'GOT-'

[Jackson was absent for taking care of his health That he couldn't join the episode 1]

Going back to our original intention.

The reason we came back to <REAL GOT7>

Is because of our song title "Never Ever".

Real GOT7 never leave you.

Will there be REAL GOT7 even we become 30?

Amazing, Park (Music Show MC)

Because our album title is "Never Ever",

Real GOT7 stay until this album,

But the next one, Real GOT7 can leave you.

What if our album title was "Bye Bye"?

Then BYE BYE REAL GOT7

Anyway, we… It seems there is no more items left for REAL GOT7

You're right.

It's so evident that we have to decide episode items from 2 to 9.

We will choose four from previous REAL GOT7 episodes until season 3,

And will add four new items after.

[LIM leader gives an idea first]

Because Pokemon GO is still popular in Korea,

- It is. / - Still, there are many players.

What about "searching for the legendary Pokemon"?

Sounds good.

I can carry my cellphone all the time.

It won't be bad if everyone walks around with playing the game.

No, I got a good idea.

I didn't know Youngjae likes me so much.

LIM-'tiger'?

It's like I'm stealing his idea,

It's weird when you massage my leg.

[Guys, the audio overlaps]

What if one doesn't play a game?

Download it!

[Mr. Tuan, don't get angry]

We have to play together.

But I'm not good at playing game.

- No one is good in the beginning. / - True.

You'll download it.

First of all, items are yet decided.

We will decide by majority. [Yugyeom, you are so strict]

So far, let's review items we have done.

It was on this camera.

I'm sorry that my saliva came out.

Please make this scene on air.

So, let's look back items we did.

Suddenly I think of [Hard Carry] by looking at you.

Do you remember when we were fishing?

It was a good time.

I will place it here, and why don't Jinyoung lead it?

Let's take a look.

Items we did.

[Review items from REAL GOT7 season 1~3]

Among them, there are 2 items I want to try.

- What are they? / - Room escape game.

I want to try a scary version of room escape game.

I hate it. I can't play that.

Not that Yugyeom's saying, but just a casual room escape game.

Let's watch our past episodes.

I don't want to try the tough babysitting again.

REAL GOT7 season 4, is there any fun or regretful REAL GOT7 items you want to try again?

Hidden camera is time to stop.

Whatever happens, we know "this is a hidden camera."

First row is out.

We can try 'mukbang (food show)'.

'Horrow experience' is good.

I hate horror.

I like a babysitting.

This one and this (babysitting & horror experience)

[Everyone has different likes]

I really don't want horror experience.

Personally, I wasn't chosen in the last 'tough babysitting' and I don't want to do it.

Jinyoung was only praised.

Because I was wearing blue color.

I have something to say. This item is a new one.

There is a dog or cat café, and we can go there once.

I want mukbang (food show).

Mukbang! Mafia (game)! Let's mix both.

Why don't we decide by game?

[What is the first game GOT7 have to do?]

We will divide into 3 teams.

And each team has two members.

[A winner team can have a chance to choose items]

[Members sitting on the same shaped chair makes a team]

Each two chairs have same design.

[Their destinations are already decided by chair shapes]

Jinyoung&Yugyeom / Youngjae&JB / BamBam&Mark

[First game is Jegichagi (hitting shuttlecock),

Which team wants to go first?

Because we have 3 teams.

I will go first.

[BamBam is confident from the start]

Come out there and do it.

- It's okay. / - What's that mean?

There is no warm up.

Unfortunately, BamBam is wearing dress shoes.

His shoes really don't help.

[So (not expected) how many BamBam hits?]

I'm really bad.

Next, Yugyeom.

Ready, go~!

[He must have no idea what Jegichagi is]

There was the hitting sound.

One, two, three

Eh~

I'm not a bad player.

I do better than you, Yugyeom.

Mark is good at it,

What are you doing? Why are you dancing?

Mark made 9 hits last time.

He made 4.

JB, we already lost.

He looks down me.

Then prove it.

I will make two hits exactly.

I'm really poor at.

4 hits… were there 2 hits?

Then more than 5.

You can make it.

The floor is not good.

Ehy…

Is that for insurance?

I could slip on this…

Start~!

4, 5, 4

We won.

It's unbelievable that Mark and BamBam could win.

Let's say the winner of this game is Mark.

We can win

Our team's game king.

[Big accident]

You should've stepped aside!

You had to.

Wait. This was a violence. I was kicked by him.

Same score as JB team's.

I'm sorry, sorry.

[Team AmeriThai and Team 1:31 AM are tied]

Rock-paper-scissors

[In the end, they play the rock-paper-scissors to decide the winner]

[BamBam's Hard Carry helped team Mark&BamBam win]

BamBam, do whatever you want.

Can we choose keywords?

We will go with mukbang (eating show) and mafia (game).

Can they choose just 3?

Then mukbang and mafia.

You want to do mukbang, too?

We can try this.

Marble game?

Cooking contest?

Yes, cooking contest sounds fine.

Not only just marble game, but also we add up couple similar games…

Such as marble game, slap-match game…

Like old games.

Such as flipping paper game.

Which children are playing.

With Digimon cards.

We are decided. 'Myuk'bang, ah, not 'myuk'bang but 'muk'bang.

- You said myuksal (grabbing by the collar)? / - It's mukbang.

[LIM leader's poor sound gets bullied by younger brothers]

Mukbang, mafia, horror experience, marble paly (old games).

[Finally they settled down 4 items]

Is this a jegi (shuttle cock) on your hat?

Youngjae looks very sick.

I want to kick this jegi like this.

Start with Yugyeom, what do you want to try?

[Choose new items only with keywords]

Honestly, I want to try thriller.

What about 'Fantasy'?

I think 'Drink' means alcohol.

It means we drink alcohol.

Let's guess out each keyword.

[GOT7 guess what keyword means]

What do you think about 'MONEY'?

I think we have to pay the money.

Or we earn the money? Such as extreme part time job?

[As today, they throw any words]

First, let's play a game.

[Forget about guessing, they start the second game]

Here they are.

[Choose game topics]

Rock-paper-scissors.

Oh~ you won.

It doesn't matter.

Which word do you want to try?

JB, pick one.

Let's try with our keyword, 'GOT7'.

Don't touch it thoughtlessly.

You have no respect.

I don't know what it is.

[GOT7 choose topics in order]

Can I look at it?

No. If so, everyone will do the same thing.

5, 4, 3, 2, 1

[Peacefully (?) they chose keywords]

'FOOD' might be tough.

Ready. Go.

Is there a time limit?

100 seconds.

It's too long.

['Talk with your face' in 100 seconds]

Are you ready?

Ready, go.

What!

He looks so funny.

This one is too difficult.

Pass.

This one is too difficult.

Pass.

Look at me, look at me [imitating chicken]

Don't say it.

Chicken!

Chicken, chicken feet.

Chicken, fried chicken.

Soda.

Coke!

[Finally, the first answer]

He tries to make an eye-contact with a chocolate milk on the table.

Pass!

Dizzy-dizzy

Beer!

Why did you look at JB?

Sikhye, Sikhye (sweet rice drink).

This one is so hilarious.

I want to give an answer.

Are you ready? Ready

Go~!

You can't make a sound.

[Dear I GOT7, we apologize it]

Pass!

Something relates to Jinyoung.

It's Jinyoung! Park Jinyoung!

Jinyoung!

Was your topic GOT7?

You can't make a sound.

Acting! Acting!

Actor-idol! Actor Park!

Park Jinyoung!

Snow flake, snow flake!

[It's miracle that Younjae answers]

It's ridiculous how he could get it.

Park Jinyoung!

Pass!

Hard Carry?

LIM leader is so happy.

The one when we say hello.

3 things x 2

I GOT7?

He is drooling.

Never Ever?

Ah! GOT7!

Wow, you're awesome.

- What was the first one? / - I GOT7.

Then why didn't you say "Ah!"

Why is it so cold?

I'm in trouble.

Mine is hard.

Start.

Haha, it's fun. Let's have a drink~

Is he dead?

Congratulation~

Congratulation drink.

Pass x 2

[He writes with holding an ink with his mouth.]

- I don't get it. / - Pass.

GOT7? Never Ever?

What's that?

Just pass.

This one is too hard to get it.

Actor Park acts fear emotion.

Cold! Cold!

Scary!

Pass, pass.

[Can't you see my eyes?]

Pass.

Jinyoung must be very confused.

This one is really difficult.

[Team JB & Younjae gets the first place in speed quiz]

Topic 'Never Ever' was really difficult.

GOT7 is still into speed quiz.

Honestly, I was thinking there would be a lyrics.

Me too, that's why.

Every lyrics was there.

Then why don't we check keywords?

We can choose.

[Team JB&Younjae's turn to choose the topics left]

Let's go with 'Thriller'. It seems good.

I want to choose 'Mystery'.

Stickers are here, so place them wherever you prefer.

4 total?

What about 'Fantasy'?

I don't want.

Not likely? Then play rock-paper-scissors.

You're late. Try again.

Rock-paper-scissors.

Jinyoung is winner.

I want to place it on 'Drink'.

Then why did you do rock-paper-scissors?

I want to copy you.

Uh, sorry.

Your laugh looked so pretentious.

It looked so fake.

It's my first time to see his laughing like this.

Then let's go with 4.

Be fair and clear.

[All items from episode 2 to 9 is decided after two games]

Drink, Fantasy, Mystery

Don't say 'someone is chasing me for cross-dressing'.

I'm 100% sure that Drink refers alcohol.

No, it will be mineral water x 2

Okay, then…

They will just give a bottle.

Infer that why you dressed up as a girl.

Every keyword can be 'cross-dressing'.

Is everyone decided?

Yes, we did.

We'll return it.

We ask you to make good ones.

We, now, finish the first episode.

Yes? (Surprise)

Yes, do we have something left?

Shall we finish when we succeed with it?

- Shall we? / - Winner can leave work.

[For the result of never ending standing up bottles,]

Audiobook Reviews | #3 - Duration: 7:53.

Hey guys it's Trina and these are my

reviews of the last five audio books

that I have listened to this year. There

are timestamps in the description in

case there is one review that you want

to just jump straight to of one of the

books that you saw in the thumbnail. Three of the

audiobooks I will be talking about

today were already in my March wrap up

and then the last two will be in my

April wrap up so don't forget to check

out my monthly reading wrap-ups if you

want to hear my thoughts on the writing,

the characters, the story overall, but in

this video I'm just going to be talking

about the narration, whether or not I

thought the voice actors did a good job,

and if it fit the story and the

characters. I've also been getting a few

questions about tips for listening to

audiobooks and I may end up doing just a

separate video on tips for listening to

audiobooks if that's something that you guys are

interested in so let me know that. Or if

you have any other questions about audio

books or like specific things that

you're wondering about my experience

with them, leave those down in the

comments of this video and I can start

to work on and see if a Q&A type of

video is something that you guys are

interested in. So into my reviews.

City of Saints and Thieves is by Natalie

C. Anderson and this audiobook was

narrated by Pascale Armand. This is a

mystery set in Kenya and it follows a

main character who fled Congo with her

mother years ago as refugees. Five years

ago, her mother was killed and our main

character has always thought she has

known what happened and who did it. The

main character is homeless and she works

with a street gang and she has an

incredible reputation as being the

city's best thief. As she and her group

are pulling off a heist in this really

wealthy house, she uncovers some more

information about her mother and she

sets out on a quest to find out what

really happened to her mom. This is a

2017 debut novel and I've done an

individual non-spoiler video review of

this book if you want to hear my

thoughts on the story and how I liked it

and everything. So this narration was

done by Pascale Armand, who is a stage and

TV actress and you can tell that she

does have an acting background in her

voice acting in this story, at least I

thought I could tell because I did

really feel like she brought the

characters to life. She reads this book

in an accent which I believe was a

Swahili accent, which fit the region

that this book was set in and I do feel

like reading it in that accent was very

very fitting of the story and the

characters. It made everything feel very

genuine. I gave the book a three star

rating but I would probably give the

narration by itself a four star rating

because I did feel like it was pretty well done.

The next audio book that I have

finished recently was A Darker Shade of

Magic by V. E. Schwab and this audio was

read by Steven Crossley. This is an

adult fantasy novel following a

character who is able to travel through

different dimensions. He has a habit of

smuggling artifacts from world to world,

which is very illegal, it's very

forbidden, and he finds himself in

possession of a very dark artifact

that's very dangerous and before he can

return it he actually gets pickpocketed

by our second main character, Lila Bard,

and they end up working together to

figure out what to do with this object.

This was a reread for me. I had

previously read the print version of

this. I am glad that I read the print

version originally because I wasn't a

huge fan of this narration. I think that

Steven Crossley's basic narration when

he's just describing the events that are

happening was very enjoyable, it was fine,

but I hated the voices that he had for

these characters. I especially hated the

way that he voiced Lila Bard. I kind of

liked his voice for Holland. I didn't

really feel like Kell fit what my

headcanon was. But Lila's accent and

voice was just, it was completely

unfitting. She had a kind of childish

voice and that's not Lila Bard at all.

That's not how I imagined Lila Bard, and

just he had zero emotion in Lila's

character and there was a tone and

quality to the way that he read these

characters and some of the narration

that felt very middle grade, which I

didn't feel was fitting for this series

because it's an adult fantasy series. My

narration rating for this one would

probably be like 2 stars or 2.5. It

just didn't work for me. I didn't feel

like it fit in tone for the genre or the

story being told and it didn't feel like

the characters' voicing really suited

them. The third audio book that I have

recently finished was American Street by

Ibi Zoboi. This audio was narrated by

Robin Miles. This is the story of a young

girl who is Haitian and she and her

mother are travelling from Haiti to the

United States to visit family but her

mother is detained at the airport by US

immigration and our main character has

to go live with her aunt and her cousins

by herself and when she gets to America

things are just not how she assumed that

they would be. The book is narrated from

the first person point of view of the

main character, Fabiola, who is Haitian, and the narrator

reads and narrates the entire book in a

Haitian Creole accent but she switches

between the Haitian accent and an

American accent for the American

characters flawlessly. I think that she

really did a good job at switching

between the voices and she really

captured the feeling and the emotions

and the personality of the main

character so I really enjoyed the

narration in this story. I would probably

give it with a 4.5 or even a 5 star

rating on narration alone, unfortunately

I just didn't enjoy this book. I have

done a full spoiler free individual

review for American Street and I also

talked about it briefly in my March wrap

up if you want to hear more of my

thoughts on the book itself. I also

finished The Thousandth Floor by

Katharine McGee. This is a YA

futuristic story that follows five

different characters' points of views and

it's set a hundred years in the future

where New York instead of being a

sprawling city they have built one tower

like on Central Park and everybody in

New York lives in this tower. There are a

thousand floors and the higher up you

live in this tower, the wealthier and

the more popular that you are. This story

at all about secrets, lies, drama, parties.

It's a very Pretty Little Liars type of

feeling. This audiobook was narrated by

Phoebe Strole and I don't have a ton of

thoughts on the narration. I thought it

was pretty average. There's more of a

fault in the writing than in the

narration itself of sometimes I couldn't

tell all of these characters apart. I

would say that I would give the

narration of this audiobook probably

like a 3 star rating. It was pretty

moderate, pretty average. Nothing stood

out to me as being fantastic but nothing

stood out to me as being horrible either.

The last audiobook I have to review

for you guys is The Princess Diarist

written by Carrie Fisher and this

audiobook was also narrated by Carrie

Fisher herself and parts of it were

narrated by her daughter Billie Lourd.

Carrie Fisher of course is the actress

that played Princess Leia in the Star

Wars films and she recently passed away.

This one is all talking about her time

on the set of Star Wars. She wrote this

book because she stumbled upon the

diaries that she kept while she was

filming the first Star Wars film and so

that kind of prompted her to reflect on

that time in her life. Obviously she gets

a 5 star rating for narration

because this is her story, she reads it

the way that she meant to. It was

extremely heart wrenching and emotional

to listen to this book because she did

so recently pass away and she very

frequently in the book speculates about

what people will think of her after she's dead

and it was just kind of difficult to

listen to that but I mean her narration

was of course wonderful and very genuine

because she's reading her own story. If

you like celebrity memoirs that are read

by the author themselves I think it's

one that you should check out. Those are

my thoughts on the narration of these

last five audio books that I have

listened to. So out of these five, if

I were going to recommend just one of

them, tell you which one my favorite

was, I would probably say The Princess

Diarist because that whole aspect of having

a celebrity read their own story is

always appealing and I think that it

would have more of a wide appeal. But

besides that one, if you don't like

nonfiction then I think my favorite

narration wise was American Street. Even

though I did not enjoy that story and I

thought that it had some very

problematic elements, which if you want

to know more about that please check out

my individual review because I go into

detail about it. I did think that the

narrator did a really good job and so if

you're wondering about this book and you

want to know if you want to pick it up, I

would recommend the audio format because

that was what kept me engaged and kept

me reading during that story. If you have

any other questions for me about these

audio books please ask me that down

below. If not, I'll see you with some

more audiobooks soon. Thank you for

watching and I will see you in the comments. Bye!

Dan Carlin — What All of History Has in Common - Duration: 5:12.

- I've always said I don't think his, you know,

the Mark Twain, I think it was Mark Twain who said,

"History doesn't repeat itself,

but it sometimes rhymes."

- Yeah.

- It's not that history is so cyclical,

it's that there's a constant element in it.

And it's us, right?

It's human beings.

What did Shakespeare say?

You know, "All the world's a stage

and all the people merely players."

The tapestries change.

But if you could pull people out of the past,

other than the fact that they're gonna seem

like different cultures,

because they were raised

in completely different environments,

they're still people, right?

If you measured them with sensory equipment

they're gonna score the same.

And so that's why it seems similar.

So when you look back, for example,

at the fall of the Roman Republic,

you have two things that are similar.

One, human beings.

So with the same passions, and desires, and foibles,

and all that.

And then you have systems.

So the reason people always looks at Rome, the Republican,

everybody thinks empire

but it's the republic that's similar.

Is because when you have a government that is formed,

cause ours was deliberately modeled on some of those,

so you have a similar system,

then you throw human beings into it,

you're going to see things that are similar

because there are patterns that are going to reemerge.

Does that give you any predictive value?

Absolutely not.

The history doesn't teach how how,

for example, I love the right wing always tell you

that, you know, the Hitler, and Munich, and appeasement

taught you you can't do the.

No it doesn't.

It taught you what you can do with Hitler

in that situation at that time.

The variables mess that up.

So history doesn't teach you how to act,

but it can tell you a lot about who we are.

- So it's basically, it's just humans really?

It's just humans within

the time frame - systems

that they happen to live.

- Humans and systems.

Or human systems in culture.

Because you can take people, even now,

from different cultures.

I mean if you took people from

a completely different culture right here,

go to central Africa

and replace all the Americans tomorrow,

and take them and put them in central Africa

and take all the central Africans

and put them in the United States and say,

"Here's your system, Donald Trump's your president,

and you have a mid term election in two years."

- [Dave] They're gone.

- Do you think there's going to be a few differences

in the voting pattern?

So you have to factor cultures, systems, and us

into the equation.

But that's why history's important

because it really teaches you about us

as a species through cultures and through time.

- Yeah that, I mean that's a beautiful way to phrase it.

That there are historical events you have to know about

but really what you're learning about

is just sort of the nature of being human.

- And that's argument, is there a human nature?

But certainly, I mean, we have parameters within

which most of us operate

and whether the culture expands those parameters over time,

there's still, I mean love is love,

hate is hate, sex is sex.

I mean there's certain things that,

I mean we see the similarities in primates

when you look at them now.

So that's what connects you to an ancient Egyptian

where almost nothing else would, right?

They're still people.

And when you read, for example,

the epitaphs that the ancient Romans wrote,

the equivalent of tombstones of their children who died,

it touches your heart today the way,

you can relate.

The only reason you can relate is because if you took

a Roman baby, and put him in a time machine,

and brought him now, and raised him as one of us,

he would be indistinguishable.

And vise versa.

You would like watching public executions

for entertainment if I took you as a child

and raised you back in the middle ages.

- Yeah, I'm pretty sure we're going to get back to that

in not to, I mean I-

- You can say there's a version of it we do now.

(laughing)

- Yeah, exactly.

We're not that far from it, you know?

We really aren't.

And by the way, there are parts of the world,

Saudi Arabia, they're beheading people on the streets

and plenty of people watch and cheer and all that.

Are they that much different than us

or is there system, and I guess that's what you would argue,

the system around them has just led them

to cheering that, right?

It's not-- - Culture.

It's maybe culture.

Systems lock you in.

Like a Republic locks you into certain things.

For example, in Rome, the part that just, you know,

you look at it and you just go gosh, it looks so similar

is campaign contributions, and money,

and favors with powerful people,

and the ability of the powerful to influence.

I mean the wonderful part of Roman Republic history,

for me, is when you read about the attempts.

For example, the people who were known as the Gracchi,

the Gracchi Brothers are famous as the,

you would call them the champions of the poor today.

Maybe like you would say the Bernie Sanders

types or whatever.

But what I love about reading the Roman history,

and Rome is great because you have so much history

that you can actually look at and study,

is the people at the time would say,

"That's not what they really believe.

They're just trying to pander."

It sounds so much like--

- They we're being paid off by the Koch brothers here.

- That's right, that's right.

And so when you read it you just go

that's a systems thing, right?

Their system looks like our system.

And because of that you throw human beings

as they always are into that system,

the culture part is what makes it very different.

But I mean you can see echos of who we still are today.

Is it a predictive tool?

Not at all.

But you do look at it and you go,

gosh, we are interesting animals

and I see it over thousands of years of difference.

Gaon.

(Episode 95)

Dad, let's go with mom

and have ice cream.

Gaon.

You can't tell mom that you saw me.

Why not?

It'll make her very sad.

And Gaon...

You'll have to protect mom from now on.

I shouldn't say tell her

because it will make her sad, right?

That's right.

Mom must be waiting.

Go on, okay?

Go on.

Gaon!

Gaon!

I told you not to go anywhere alone.

I was so scared because you went missing.

I'm sorry.

Don't go anywhere alone again, okay?

You have to make sure you're with a grown up. Okay?

- Okay. / - Let's go.

So...

I just have to drop the lawsuit, right?

Fine, I'll tell Doyun to drop the lawsuit.

That won't suffice.

Who knows when you'll change your mind?

I can't take your word for it and back off.

Then what?

Make Doyun forfeit his parental rights over Gaon.

What?

Auntie.

Hi. When did you get here?

You haven't been home lately.

Were you worried?

My mom kicked me out.

Kicked you out? Why?

That's not important.

Did something happen to my mom?

She doesn't even have makeup on.

She's still like that?

Your father didn't say anything?

What about father?

Nothing.

I have to get to a meeting.

Would you look after my mom for me?

I hear you're sick.

Didn't you tell Deokbae that you know

about our divorce?

I thought you'd turn the place into a warzone.

Did you tell me so that we could wage a war?

I didn't tell you. You found out yourself.

It's all your fault!

What?

I thought you'd divorce him

if you knew he was cheating.

I thought you'd divorce him

if you knew I was pregnant.

Maybe once Taeyun was born

or when he started school

I thought you'd divorce him then.

I waited 30 years like that.

How could you resist for 30 years

and divorce him now?

Stop being unreasonable.

So? This is my fault?

You resisted for 30 years to prevent

us from getting married!

That's right! Now...

Now, you must feel good!

- Is this what you wanted? / - Stop it!

You monster.

You don't remember anything you did, do you?

Did you wait nicely?

You kept barging into my home and broke things.

You threatened me to sign the divorce papers.

You yanked my hair

in front of Doyun when he wasn't even 10!

So? But 30 years?

30 years!

How could people not change?

If you had divorced him sooner,

the chairman wouldn't have changed his mind!

Hello?

I won't do this again.

Thank you.

Tell Hajin yourself.

I don't think she should know yet.

I won't wait long.

Don't make me be the bad guy.

Why is Jeongu getting involved?

Gaon, Hyerin...

He's getting involved with all the kids we have.

Who does he think he is? Seriously.

If Doyun doesn't forfeit his parental rights...

He really would go public about his amnesia, right?

Goodness.

Isn't there a way?

If he gets fired from his CEO position,

there'll be no one to protect me once

I become the chairman again.

Are you still sick?

Go see the doctor!

Gosh.

Why is she giving me a headache too?

Sit down.

You know...

I think you'll have to give up...

On Gaon for the time being.

Why? You said you'd bring him soon.

I was going to,

but Jeongu threatened me

with your hospital records.

Goodness. How did he get them?

I think...

It was your wife's doing.

She flipped out, saying she

wouldn't let me bring Gaon.

But why did she give that to Jeongu?

My evaluation?

Yes. He said he'd tell the court

that you have amnesia.

If the company finds out,

I'll have to step down from my position.

No, no. You can't do that.

It's not like you stop being Gaon's father

just by forfeiting parental rights.

Wait a little.

Once I'm the chairman again

and regain my authority,

I'll have the entire legal team

bring Gaon to us even if we must

lock Hajin up in an asylum.

So wait...

Until then, okay?

And here.

It's a forfeiture of parental rights.

Hajin is demanding this.

I looked into it.

And that doesn't hold water in court.

So just sign it, and let's step back for the time being.

Okay. It's important the company

doesn't find out about my condition.

That's right. If you get kicked out of the company,

it'll be difficult to run it later on

even when I become the chairman.

- So you need to be at the company. / - Father.

May I see that secret dual contract you have

with my mother-in-law?

The secret dual contract?

Why?

That illegal investment funds that we received

were all processed in my name.

I need to know how much it was

and how it came in.

What's the point?

It'll just upset you.

I should see it.

If that secret dual contract gets out,

you'll lose only a portion of your assets,

but I need to contemplate a prison sentence.

I need to know in order to be prepared

if problems arise.

That's true.

It's your problem, so you should know.

Okay. I'll get it now.

Doyun canceled the lawsuit?

Yes.

Chairman Cha wouldn't drop the lawsuit that easily.

He was the one that filed the lawsuit, not Doyun.

He must've changed his mind.

Doyun must've convinced him.

Thank goodness.

I was so afraid I'd lose custody.

Thank goodness.

Thank goodness, it's over.

I was so scared

about the lawsuit. I'm so glad.

I guess Doyun beat his father.

What do you mean, beat? He must've convinced him.

Are you taking his side because he's Taeyun's father?

Let's not be petty.

I'm glad we got custody.

The lawyer said it would be hard.

Yes. I should meet with Doyun.

No. Later.

Why not? I should still thank him.

I need to find out what his plan is too.

He just returned to work,

so things are hectic for him, so later.

Really?

There's my grandson.

Gaon, I made all your favorite dishes, so eat up.

Let's have cake later too. I picked one up.

Okay.

Is today a special day?

Yes, very special.

Seyeon.

You said you had to visit other restaurants,

but you came quick.

You're working too hard these days. It isn't like you.

I think I'm meant for sales. It's fun.

Wow. Your mother's cooking.

It looks good.

Did something good happen today?

The dishes look like feast food.

Your family dropped the lawsuit

to claim custody over Gaon.

Really?

- Thank you. / - For what?

You've gotten so modest.

I didn't tell my mom or sister because

I didn't want to brag,

but they dropped the lawsuit

as soon as you went home.

Of course. What can't I get done?

Eat slowly.

Is my mom's cooking that good?

Yes. I want to marry you and move in with your family.

Then your mother and sister

would cook for me every day.

You sound like you've been starving.

I'll cook for you.

What? You don't want food...

That I cook?

I may like you a lot, but not your cooking.

Hey. I may not be as good as my mom or sister,

but I still can cook well.

I... I like you.

Not your cooking.

Come home early, will you?

Why are you always coming home so late?

Father.

Fine, I'll let it slide.

You'll be stepping down soon,

so I'll let it slide until then.

Father!

How dare you raise your voice at me?

You made sure I couldn't sue for custody over Gaon.

Your arrogance has no bounds now.

You can't sue for custody? Why not?

Why else? You made it that way!

Don't play dumb.

I don't know anything about it.

But regardless, I guess you won't talk

about bringing Gaon anymore.

Why not?

Once I become chairman...

And Doyun gets established, I'll sue for custody again.

You should be grateful that I don't

kick you out.

How are you such an ingrate?

Your mother gave me the chairman seat

so I wouldn't kick you out.

Goodness.

So?

How will you let me keep my chairman position?

We haven't agreed to enter into the contract yet.

I need to hear your plan first.

Father must've laid it on you.

Doyun!

They can't remove you at the board meeting.

It needs to go to the shareholders meeting.

Are you kidding me?

I'll lose for certain at the shareholders meeting.

My mother and your father own

more than half the shares.

How could I possibly win?

Then we just have to make sure they can't combine

your mother's shares and my father's shares.

Your father is excited about kicking me out

and taking over as chairman. But what?

It's possible to get his shares.

His embezzlement matter hasn't been resolved yet.

So?

You're the chairman right now.

It's up to you.

Use that to pressure him.

Make him afraid that if he makes a wrong move,

he may lose his shares.

Madam Chairman, it's time for the board meeting.

Madam Chairman?

Call CEO Cha Doyun.

Yes, Lawyer Kim.

When is my trial?

Minhui did?

She must be preparing hard for my trial.

Of course, it'd be easier for me to trust her with it.

Then talk to Minhui and proceed.

I heard the board meeting will be

conducted in a discussion format.

Yes.

The board will request that Minhui resigns.

If she accepts it and resigns,

that'll be the end of it.

What's wrong?

I feel like we're dragging her down,

so I don't feel good about it.

Look at the big picture.

Chairman Cha lost all credibility with

the directors and shareholders.

How long could he last, hiding behind Doyun?

That's true.

I'm just glad Minhui wasn't greedy

and followed our orders.

Greed always leads you

to make foolish decisions.

If I refuse to step down at the board meeting,

I'll be challenging my mother outright.

Then there's no way back.

- She'll do anything to remove me... / - Yes.

She'll remove you and discard you.

No. No one can discard me.

I can just discard them first as I did to you.

Give me...

Your weakness.

I'll look at it...

And decide whether to choose my mother

or you.

You threatened Hajin, saying

you'll send me to the prison, correct?

You should've been careful

if you were going to mess with a lunatic.

Do you know what those are?

These documents will send

the man you love to prison.

Look through them to see what they are.

A paper company to evade taxes,

and fraudulent loans.

Everything is in Doyun's name.

Those documents you used to

threaten Hajin back then...

Tax evasion, accounting fraud,

and even a paper company.

I heard all the money-laundering documents

were put in my name.

In my name.

Your mother and my father

signed a separate secret dual contract back then.

Saying they were agreeing to each other's illegal acts.

That's why...

No matter how much they fight,

they always have to join forces eventually.

Because...

Both families would be ruined if that evidence got out.

No. My life would be over...

More than anyone else

since all of those transactions

were performed in my name.

This is a copy of my father's secret dual contract.

I'll give you this.

This is the most powerful weakness

you can have on me.

With this,

you'd be strangling my neck.

So?

You'll let me strangle your neck

and maintain my chairman position.

What do you want from me?

Your mother.

Don't tell me you planned

to stay in your mother's shadow

and do whatever she orders

for the rest of your life, do you?

Speed it up.

Why do you need a discussion?

Minhui.

You know your mother and I finished discussing this.

Just resign

and step down from your position.

We should've called an official board meeting.

Then I could relay my position even more clearly.

I...

Will not resign.

Minhui, you...

Please address me properly as Madam Chairman.

We will call an emergency shareholders meeting.

We'll ask them to vote.

Whether they want

the honorary chairman, who embezzled funds

and was involved in corruption, back as the chairman

or me, who used my own private assets

to compensate the company.

We'll ask the shareholders to choose.

You... You've lost your mind.

Do you plan to go against your mother?

I don't know what deal was struck,

between you and my mother.

But the chairman seat

of LK is not something that can be

claimed through a shady deal.

If you want this position,

gain the shareholders' trust first.

Hey.

What?

Okay, I understand.

What is it?

Minhui refused to step down.

Not just that, but she's calling

an emergency shareholders meeting.

She said she'd let them vote on

removing the chairman.

What? She did?

I'm sorry, father, but I have a meeting.

Please let mother know that I'm sorry

I won't be coming by.

Minhui.

She is in a meeting.

She'll come after and explain everything.

You'll get an upset stomach. Slow down.

You never eat more than one bowl of rice a day.

What's wrong?

You're eating four days' worth of food for you.

Hwaran.

Grab the chairman by the hair,

strip him bare, and throw him out.

You'll feel better then.

What's the point?

Will that change the fact that he deceived me?

Don't you know him?

His shares are his world

and his chairman seat is his life.

Do as I say. I'll help.

Let's kick him out together.

I can't do something so humiliating to him.

Anything that he suffers, I suffer.

Then what will you do?

Will you play dumb for the rest of your life?

Can you live like that?

No.

I can't live like that.

Then what will you do?

What else?

I'll do it my way.

Minhui doesn't care about her father-in-law,

husband, or even her mother.

How dare she

go against her mother and father-in-law's decision?

She should step down if told to.

If her mom and I combine our shares,

we hold more than half.

What's the use in resisting?

She must've known that when

she called the shareholders meeting.

- What? / - She must've done it, knowing that.

Right?

She couldn't know that.

What... What is it?

What is she up to?

Seeing how she keeps bringing up

your embezzlement,

maybe she plans to use that.

She'll probably confiscate all of your shares.

My shares?

Yes. Your only assets are your stock.

Really?

True, I'd do the same if I were her.

What should I do?

Transfer it out of your name

and into a foundation, security, or anything.

What?

You know the foundations

you created in relatives' names to avoid paying taxes.

You donated a lot.

Transfer it all over.

All of it? Already?

But still. Who can I trust?

I have one in Hwaran's name.

But to donate my entire fortune,

it makes me nervous.

Then shall I hold it?

You?

Never mind.

They may declare me incompetent.

Maybe Taeyun would be better.

True. If anything happens,

I have that doctor's evaluation.

Then...

Maybe Doyun is the best one to hold onto my shares.

Even if he gets funny ideas,

I can take my shares back.

Chairman.

- Chairman. / - You punk.

You must be busy, switching sides so frequently.

This isn't the time.

Chairman Baek Minhui is trying to take your shares

and has the entire legal team working on it.

What? She is?

Yes.

Gaon.

- Did you have a bad dream again? / - Yes.

It was a bad dream,

but it's okay.

In the past, the dreams seemed real,

so it was very scary,

but now, I know it's a dream.

I'm only a little afraid.

When I wake up, you're here,

so I told myself to wake up quickly.

Did you? My son is so brave.

I have to become braver

if I'm going to protect you.

Dad told me to protect you,

so I will.

What?

I want to sleep.

Okay, sleep.

When did you see dad?

Outside the convenience store.

Ice cream.

That day you walked out of the convenience store

by yourself...

Yes.

He must've wanted to see you.

He should've called and come over

if he wanted to see you.

Why couldn't he call or ask to see you?

Why was he just waiting?

Your dad.

I feel like he's having a tougher time now than before.

What brings you here?

You know, Doyun...

I'm thinking of putting my shares into the foundation.

I can save on the fee.

I can become the director of

the foundation after the board meeting.

Okay, go ahead.

Do you want to manage them?

It'll be tough if my workload gets any heavier.

The foundation has no work to do.

Why would it be tough?

There's no one else I can trust.

Who could I trust to manage my shares

and be my proxy?

Sure. Whatever you want.

Okay. Then I assume you agreed.

Are you relieved...

Now that I can always be found

incompetent at any time, father?

Hwaran.

I do trust Taeyun

more than Doyun, of course.

But this problem is just too big.

That punk. He's just too flaky.

I guess...

I should leave it with Doyun.

With Doyun?

Chairman.

How much do you trust Doyun?

I trust him enough nowadays.

What if...

He fights back like he did before?

He knows the most about the company.

He'll fight back with you

about everything, claiming it's best for the company.

That punk...

Is inflexible. That's for certain.

It's best to use someone

who will do exactly as you say.

Someone you can trust.

Doyun.

If I delegate him...

He'd never betray me. No way.

There's no way.

My father-in-law

is donating all of his shares?

Yes. He said

not to waste your time trying to confiscate them.

I see.

I see. That's right.

That's just like my father-in-law.

Hello, lawyer.

I was about to go see you.

Sorry? Forfeiture of parental rights?

Who sent you that?

Chairman Cha Deokbae.

He said to give it to Choi Jeongu.

Would you like to give it to him, or shall I?

Hold on. Would you repeat that?

Is something the matter?

Hajin.

I just met with my lawyer.

Doyun sent a forfeiture of parental rights.

Did you meet with Chairman Cha?

Or with Doyun?

Doyun has a lot of affection toward Gaon.

I don't know why he's going this far.

I'm starting to get scared.

If you met with Chairman Cha,

that's even stranger.

He wouldn't give up that easily

just because you told him to.

No. Regardless of who you met with,

getting a forfeiture of parental rights

is no easy feat.

Jeongu!

What is this?

It's Doyun's doctor's evaluation.

Why do you have a doctor's evaluation

that Doyun has amnesia?

Doyun gave it to me.

Why did he...

I used this...

To make Chairman Cha...

Give up on custody over Gaon.

(Forfeiture of Parental Rights)

My father isn't the one who sent this.

- What? / - I sent it.

Stop lying.

You don't have to believe me.

If you trust me unconditionally,

it'll be easier for me to take Gaon away.

I'm glad things went as you predicted.

It looks like your father will transfer all of his shares.

Yes.

We're holding a fatal weapon against each other.

I'm glad there are no mistakes.

If I can't remain as chairman...

I'll have to go public...

With what I have on you.

You were here too. Good.

I was going to make the introduction

before the shareholders meeting.

Father.

That's right. I thought it over and

it wasn't right to delegate you to maintain my shares

when you have so much on your plate.

So don't worry.

Father, this is...

What do you mean?

What? Come in!

Hi. Why are you so surprised? You're offending me.

Minhui.

I don't know what you'd do,

so I transferred

all of my shares to the foundation.

And she's the director of the foundation.

This shareholders meeting should be interesting.

Don't you agree, Chairman?

You're right.

(First Love Again)

What are you so afraid of?

What are you so afraid of

that you gave up your parental rights

and are pushing us away?

This is Lee Hajin.

I'm here to see Chairman Kim Yeongsuk.

- Hajin. / - What will you do?

The shareholders meeting is tomorrow.

I need to resolve the matters I had pushed aside.

What should I do with her?

You don't care if I punish her, right?

Hajin, where are you?

I'll let you be the foundation's director

for the rest of your life.

I'm sorry. I was wrong.

Let's resolve it together.

Behind The Bar - The Boulevardier - Duration: 2:54.

<b>- So, the Boulevardier</b> <b>cocktail is bourbon,</b>

<b>sweet vermouth, and Campari.</b>

<b>You're getting a kick because</b> <b>it's two ounces of whiskey.</b>

<b>It's just a really interesting</b> <b>take on a cocktail.</b>

<b>So, the Boulevardier is</b> <b>believed to be traded</b>

<b>by Harry MacElhone at Harry's</b> <b>New York Bar in Paris,</b>

<b>probably around 1923.</b>

<b>This is where a lot of famous</b> <b>Americans would hang out.</b>

<b>You know, F. Scott</b> <b>Fitzgerald, Coco Chanel,</b>

<b>guys like Hemingway</b> <b>would hang out there.</b>

<b>During prohibition,</b> <b>this place became very,</b>

<b>very famous for cocktails,</b>

<b>so that's how we have</b> <b>the Boulevardier.</b>

<b>The Boulevardier is just</b> <b>basically a take on a Negroni,</b>

<b>which was made</b> <b>famous by Bar Casoni</b>

<b>in Florence in about 1919.</b>

<b>And this is gonna sound</b> <b>really hard to believe,</b>

<b>there is the Count Negroni,</b> <b>who was a rodeo clown</b>

<b>in America, and he</b> <b>had this bartender</b>

<b>to add a bit of gin</b> <b>to his Americano,</b>

<b>which was made with sweet</b> <b>vermouth and Campari.</b>

<b>This is apparently</b> <b>how this all started.</b>

<b>Here's how I would</b> <b>make a Boulivardier.</b>

<b>I would use two</b> <b>ounces of bourbon,</b>

<b>and then I would use</b> <b>three quarter ounces</b> <b>of sweet vermouth,</b>

<b>and then three quarter</b> <b>ounces of Campari.</b>

<b>You're gonna stir that</b> <b>in your mixing glass,</b>

<b>and then pour that either</b> <b>into a chilled coupe,</b>

<b>or a rocks glass with</b> <b>ice and an orange twist.</b>

<b>Great cocktail, wonderful.</b>

<b>I think it's a</b> <b>testament to Campari,</b>

<b>that it's been around forever.</b>

<b>I can remember the first</b> <b>time I had Campari,</b>

<b>and I remember thinking,</b> <b>"wow, this is really,</b>

<b>"really interesting,</b> <b>it's a lot different</b>

<b>"than I thought</b> <b>it was gonna be."</b>

<b>A few people look</b> <b>and they're like,</b>

<b>"Oh, this thing is</b> <b>gonna be really sweet,"</b>

<b>but it is a bitter.</b>

<b>There's always stories about</b>

<b>how they're highly</b> <b>secretive ingredients.</b>

<b>There's apparently</b> <b>60 different types</b>

<b>of herbs and roots,</b> <b>and this and that,</b>

<b>but no one really knows.</b>

<b>My Boulevardier, I would</b> <b>do two ounces of rye,</b>

<b>three quarter ounce</b> <b>of sweet vermouth,</b>

<b>three quarter ounce of Campari,</b>

<b>and then I would</b> <b>use a quarter ounce</b>

<b>of Gran Classico bitters.</b>

<b>Stir it with ice, and</b> <b>then into a chilled coupe</b>

<b>with an orange zest, and burn</b> <b>the orange zest with a match.</b>

<b>It's sort of like a smoke</b> <b>to it, it's real nice,</b>

<b>plus it just looks really cool.</b>

<b>It's a simple drink to make,</b>

<b>but there's plenty</b> <b>of ways to make it.</b>

<b>It's hard to fuck up,</b>

<b>even if you go a little</b> <b>bit more on the bitter</b>

<b>with the Campari, or you</b> <b>go a little bit more sweet,</b>

<b>it's still nice, great</b> <b>cocktail, really cool.</b>

N.Korea state media confirms new special forces unit unveiled during Saturday's parade - Duration: 1:45.

North Korea looks to have a new special operation forces unit.

The team made its first appearance on Saturday during a military parade in commemoration

of the regime founder's birthday,... and its identity was confirmed today by North Korea's

state media.

The parade had already caught the attention of the international community as Pyongyang

unveiled a new generation of intercontinental ballistic missiles.

Kwon Jang-ho has this report.

Wearing dark uniforms, night vision goggles and carrying a modified AK-47 with grenade

launchers, a new special operation forces unit made its first public appearance in North

Korea.

"Once our Supreme Commander Kim Jong-un issues the order, the special forces will charge

with determination and thrust a sword through the enemy's heart, like lightning over Mt.

Paektu."

The identity of the unit was confirmed on Monday by Pyongyang's state-run newspaper

Rodong-sinmun, and although they were seen in public for the first time on Saturday during

a commemorative military parade, leader Kim Jong-un reportedly watched them carry out

a special shooting contest on Thursday.

North Korea observers have interpreted the unveiling of the new forces as a response

to the U.S. military's decision to involve the Navy's Seal Team Six in this year's South-Korea-U.S.

joint annual military drills.

Seal Team Six is known for being responsible for the assassination of Osama bin Laden in

2011.

The South Korean military is also said to be establishing a special forces unit sometime

this year, a team specifically designed to take out Pyongyang's leadership during wartime.

Are PEPSI & COKE More Dangerous Than You Think? - Duration: 18:21.

Are PEPSI & COKE More Dangerous Than You Think?

Zero calorie sodas such as Coke Zero and Pepsi Max are slowly but surely becoming the next

generation of diet soft drinks.

Based on their popularity, people are obviously drinking them, but if they dont contain

any calories, then what exactly is it that youre drinking?

As a result of consuming too much processed food thats high in sugar and refined carbohydrates,

the majority of the population is overweight and many of the people who are trying to slim

down by cutting calories are failing miserably.

As such, zero calorie beverages such as Coke Zero and Pepsi Max are not the answer to weight

loss that many people believe them to be, and to make matters worse, the chemical additives

in these beverages can compromise your health.

Most diet sodas, including Diet Coke and Diet Pepsi, have been virtually calorie free for

years.

As such, Coke Zero and Pepsi Max are nothing more than diet sodas with some new ingredients

and a unique marketing spin.

The following are some of the more notable ingredients found in Coke Zero and Pepsi Max

that dont exist in their full calorie Coke and Pepsi counterparts.

Aspartame is an artificial sweetener thats considered by many health experts to be one

of the most dangerous food additives in existence.

Despite a significant amount of controversy, aspartame is frequently associated with cancer,

neurological disorders including Parkinsons disease and Alzheimers disease, and a very

long list of other conditions and unpleasant symptoms.

Much of the controversy surrounding aspartame is fueled by corporate interest.

In the late 1990s, Dr. Ralph Walden showed how significant this influence is by conducting

a peer review of the 165 studies that were available at the time and were related to

the safety of aspartame for humans.

Of these studies, 74 were funded by corporations with financial ties to aspartame and the other

91 were funded by independent sources.

All of the research that had financial ties to aspartame deemed it to be safe while 92%

of the independent research indicated otherwise.

Acesulfame Potassium Acesulfame potassium, often referred to as

Acesulfame K, is another artificial sweetener thats increasing in popularity.

Although more research needs to be done on Acesulfame K, its been shown to promote

cancer and increased insulin production in animals.

Potassium Benzoate

Potassium benzoate is a food preservative thats used to prevent the growth of yeast,

mold, and bacteria.

Its drawn a lot of negative attention due to its potential to form benzene when combined

with vitamin C. Long term exposure to benzene has been found to cause cancer, anemia, suppressed

immunity, irregular menstruation, and infertility.

Trading One Problem for Another

As shown by the following table, the biggest difference between Coke Zero, Diet Coke, Pepsi

Max, and Diet Pepsi is the introduction of the Acesulfame K sweetener and the reduction

of aspartame.

The Max Factor

In addition to being a zero calorie soft drink, Pepsi Max is also marketed for its increased

caffeine content and the addition of ginseng, both of which give it the appeal of an energy

drink.

In comparison to the 38 mg of caffeine in regular Pepsi, theres 69 mg of caffeine

in Pepsi Max.

The inclusion of ginseng, which is anatural herbal supplement used to promote better mental

and physical function, even gives Pepsi Max a bit of a misleading health appeal.

Neither caffeine nor ginseng will ever provide you with the long lasting and balanced sense

of energy that can only result from optimal health.

Furthermore, frequently relying on caffeine for energy will likely worsen the underlying

problem thats causing you to be tired and eventually lead to adrenal fatigue and poorer

health.

Another suspect ingredient in Pepsi Max is calcium disodium EDTA which is commonly used

by health professionals to help remove excess metals such as mercury, lead, and iron from

the body.

What does this have to do with soda you may ask?

According to Pepsi, it helps to protect flavor. The real reason why its in Pepsi

Max is to reduce the risk of benzene forming from the potassium benzoate preservative.

How nice of Pepsi to look out for us like that.

A Better Perspective on Weight Loss

Clearly, the most obvious reason to drink zero calorie beverages such as Coke Zero and

Pepsi Max is to reduce calorie intake, and in turn, lose weight.

Ironically, although this is a controversial topic with research supporting both sides,

its been shown in at least one study that people who rely on artificially sweetened

beverages are more likely to gain weight.

In association with this, aspartame in particular has been shown to increase appetite and calorie

consumption.

Losing weight is no different from increasing your energy in the regard that its most

effectively done through a healthy lifestyle.

Too many people prioritize their appearance over their health, and as a result, fail to

understand that pursuing better health and following a healthy diet will naturally lead

to weight loss.

No type of soda, regardless of how many or how few calories it has, is ever a good choice.

However, by following healthy habits on a regular basis, youll be able to enjoy soda

in moderation without much impact to your health or weight, and when you do, you might

as well enjoy the real thing.

Kids are heavy consumers of soft drinks, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and

they are guzzling soda pop at unprecedented rates.

Carbonated soda pop provides more added sugar in a typical 2-year-old toddlers diet than

cookies, candies and ice cream combined.

Fifty-six percent of 8-year-olds down soft drinks daily, and a third of teenage boys

drink at least three cans of soda pop per day.

These popular beverages account for more than a quarter of all drinks consumed in the United

States.

More than 15 billion gallons were sold in 2000.

That works out to at least one 12-ounce can per day for every man, woman and child.

Not only are soft drinks widely available everywhere, from fast food restaurants to

video stores, theyre now sold in 60 percent of all public and private middle schools and

high schools nationwide, according to the National Soft Drink Association.

A few schools are even giving away soft drinks to students who buy school lunches.

As soda pop becomes the beverage of choice among the nations young and as soda

marketers focus on brand-building among younger and younger consumers public health officials,

school boards, parents, consumer groups and even the soft drink industry are faced with

nagging questions:

How healthful are these beverages, which provide a lot calories, sugars and caffeine but no

significant nutritional value?

And what happens if you drink a lot of them at a very young age?

Recently, representatives of the soft drink industry, concerned that public opinion and

public policy may turn against them, will staged a three-day fly-in to lobby Congress

to maintain soft drinks sales in schools; and to educate lawmakers on the proper

perspective on soft drink use.

The industry plans to counter a US Department of Agriculture proposal, announced in January,

that would require all foods sold in schools to meet federal nutrition standards.

That would mean that snack foods and soft drinks would have to meet the same standards

as school lunches.

Nearly everyone by now has heard the litany on the presumed health effects of soft drinks:

Obesity Tooth decay

Caffeine dependence Weakened bones

But does drinking soda pop really cause those things?

To help separate fact from fiction, the Health section reviewed the latest scientific findings

and asked an array of experts on both sides of the debate to weigh in on the topic.

Be forewarned, however: Compared with the data available on tobacco and even dietary

fat, the scientific evidence on soft drinks is less developed.

The results can be a lot like soft drinks themselves, both sweet and sticky.

Obesity

One very recent, independent, peer-reviewed study demonstrates a strong link between soda

consumption and childhood obesity.

One previous industry-supported, unpublished study showed no link.

Explanations of the mechanism by which soda may lead to obesity have not yet been proved,

though the evidence for them is strong.

Many people have long assumed that soda high in calories and sugar, low in nutrients can

make kids fat.

But until this month there was no solid, scientific evidence demonstrating this.

Reporting in The Lancet, a British medical journal, a team of Harvard researchers presented

the first evidence linking soft drink consumption to childhood obesity.

They found that 12-year-olds who drank soft drinks regularly were more likely to be overweight

than those who didnt.

For each additional daily serving of sugar-sweetened soft drink consumed during the nearly two-year

study, the risk of obesity increased 1.6 times.

Obesity experts called the Harvard findings important and praised the study for being

prospective.

In other words, the Harvard researchers spent 19 months following the children, rather than

capturing a snapshot of data from just one day.

Its considered statistically more valuable to conduct a study over a long period of time.

Researchers found that schoolchildren who drank soft drinks consumed almost 200 more

calories per day than their counterparts who didnt down soft drinks.

That finding helps support the notion that we dont compensate well for calories in

liquid form.

Are PEPSI & COKE More Dangerous Than You Think?

Tooth Decay

Heres one health effect that even the soft drink industry admits, grudgingly, has merit.

In a carefully worded statement, the NSDA says that theres no scientific evidence

that consumption of sugars per se has any negative effect other than dental caries.

But the association also correctly notes that soft drinks arent the sole cause of tooth

decay.

In fact, a lot of sugary foods, from fruit juices to candy and even raisins and other

dried fruit, have what dentists refer to as cariogenic properties, which is to say

they can cause tooth decay.

Okay, so how many more cavities are soft drink consumers likely to get compared with people

who dont drink soda?

This is where it gets complicated.

A federally funded study of nearly 3,200 Americans 9 to 29 years old conducted between 1971 and

1974 showed a direct link between tooth decay and soft drinks.

Numerous other studies have shown the same link throughout the world, from Sweden to

Iraq.

Caffeine Dependence

The stimulant properties and dependence potential of caffeine in soda are well documented, as

are their effects on children.

Ever tried going without your usual cup of java on the weekend?

If so, you may have experienced a splitting headache, a slight rise in blood pressure,

irritability and maybe even some stomach problems.

These well-documented symptoms describe the typical withdrawal process suffered by about

half of regular caffeine consumers who go without their usual dose.

The soft drink industry agrees that caffeine causes the same effects in children as adults,

but officials also note that there is wide variation in how people respond to caffeine.

The simple solution, the industry says, is to choose a soda pop that is caffeine-free.

All big soda makers offer products with either low or no caffeine.

Okay, so most enlightened consumers already know that colas contain a fair amount of caffeine.

It turns out to be 35 to 38 milligrams per 12-ounce can, or roughly 28 percent of the

amount found in an 8-ounce cup of coffee.

But few know that diet colas usually chosen by those who are trying to dodge calories

and/or sugar often pack a lot more caffeine.

A 12-ounce can of Diet Coke, for example, has about 42 milligrams of caffeine seven

more than the same amount of Coke Classic.

A can of Pepsi One has about 56 milligrams of caffeine 18 milligrams more than both

regular Pepsi and Diet Pepsi.

Bone Weakening

Animal studies demonstrate that phosphorus, a common ingredient in soda, can deplete bones

of calcium.

And two recent human studies suggest that girls who drink more soda are more prone to

broken bones.

The industry denies that soda plays a role in bone weakening.

Animal studies mostly involving rats point to clear and consistent bone loss with the

use of cola beverages.

But as scientists like to point out, humans and rats are not exactly the same.

Even so, theres been concern among the research community, public health officials

and government agencies over the high phosphorus content in the US diet.

Phosphorus which occurs naturally in some foods and is used as an additive in many others

appears to weaken bones by promoting the loss of calcium.

With less calcium available, the bones become more porous and prone to fracture.

The soft drink industry argues that the phosphoric acid in soda pop contributes only about 2

percent of the phosphorus in the typical US diet, with a 12-ounce can of soda pop averaging

about 30 milligrams.

Theres growing concern that even a few cans of soda today can be damaging when they

are consumed during the peak bone-building years of childhood and adolescence.

A 1996 study published in the Journal of Nutrition by the FDAs Office of Special Nutritionals

noted that a pattern of high phosphorus/low calcium consumption, common in the American

diet, is not conducive to optimizing peak bone mass in young women.

A 1994 Harvard study of bone fractures in teenage athletes found a strong association

between cola beverage consumption and bone fractures in 14-year-old girls.

The girls who drank cola were about five times more likely to suffer bone fractures than

girls who didnt consume soda pop.

Besides, to many researchers, the combination of rising obesity and bone weakening has the

potential to synergistically undermine future health.

Adolescents and kids dont think long-term.

But what happens when these soft-drinking people become young or middle-aged adults

and they have osteoporosis, sedentary living and obesity?

By that time, switching to water, milk or fruit juice may be too little, too late.

Trump faces risky ObamaCare choice - Duration: 9:40.

Trump faces risky ObamaCare choice

BY JESSIE HELLMANN

President Trump is facing a risky choice over whether to follow through on his promise to

let ObamaCare collapse.

Trump has predicted that Democrats will own ObamaCare if it falls apart, which he said

would happen after legislation repealing the law was pulled from a House vote because of

opposition from Republicans.

But a recent poll from the Kaiser Family Foundation shows a majority of voters would blame Trump

and Republicans for any future problems with the healthcare law.

Asked if Democrats or Republicans would be responsible for any future problems with the

law, 61 percent said that since the GOP is in control of the government they are responsible

for any problems with it moving forward. Trumps administration faces several difficult

decisions in the coming months that could contribute toward helping the healthcare law

or harming it.

In the coming weeks, the Trump administration will need to say clearly whether they plan

to fund cost-sharing reductions payments that reimburse insurers for providing discounted

deductibles to low-income ObamaCare enrollees.

In an interview with The Wall Street Journal Wednesday, Trump said he was considering withholding

the payments to force Democrats to work with him on healthcare.

"I don't want people to get hurt. What I think should happen and will happen is the

Democrats will start calling me and negotiating."

But he seemed to acknowledge that he and Republicans could face the blame if the law collapsed.

"That's part of the reason that I may go the other way" on making the insurer payments,

he said.

"The longer I'm behind this desk and you have ObamaCare, the more I would own it."

The administration also must finalize a regulation proposed by the Department of Health and Human

Services in February that is intended to help prevent insurers from leaving the market or

raising premiums. Insurers have called it a good first step toward stabilizing the markets.

Taking steps to help insurers and bolster ObamaCare could lead to heat from conservatives,

who argue a Republican administration should do nothing to help the law.

If he does nothing, and insurers leave the market, Trump would also be taking a risk

if voters blame Trump and Republicans, and not Democrats, for rising premiums and

fewer healthcare choices.

Rural voters could especially feel the impact if insurers leave the marketplace, and many

of them are Trump voters.

Its a calculation theyre going to consider whether or not the American people

will hold them accountable for making sure they enforce the law and have access to coverage,

said Andy Slavitt, who was acting director of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid under

former President Obama for two years.

I think they will be facing some pretty forceful judgment if they chose not to.

There is tremendous uncertainty right now in ObamaCares insurance markets in

part because of the GOPs on-again, off-again repeal effort and questions over whether Trump

will continue insurer payments that have been made under the law.

Some insurers have already announced that they won't sell plans on the exchanges next

year, and more could follow if they dont get promises from Congress or Trump that they

will fund the cost-sharing reductions through all of next year.

That could leave ObamaCare enrollees with no way to use their subsidies and no options

on the exchanges.

The Obama administration stepped in to work with insurance companies to make sure all

counties have at least one insurer. A primary example came in the summer of 2016 in Pinal

County, Ariz., when the administration pressured other insurers to fill that gap. Blue Cross

Blue Shield eventually did.

Its unclear if Trump will take the same steps.

The administration has sent mixed signals to insurers, said Cynthia Cox, a health policy

expert with the Kaiser Family Foundation.

On one hand there were a few new regulations that signaled a willingness to stabilize the

market, and they were very favorable to insurance companies, she said.

On the other hand, President Trump has made comments about the market exploding and

letting that happen. Theyre very mixed signals for insurance companies that needed

answers yesterday on what the rules for the game are going to be next year.

Insurers have until June to file rates and plans for 2018, though they could still decide

later to make changes to their plans, or event to leave the market altogether.

So far, Humana is the only insurer to say it wont participate next year in ObamaCare's

exchanges, though other insurers are pulling out in Iowa.

Tennessee's insurance commissioner has been in talks with the state's remaining insurers

Blue Cross Blue Shield and Cigna to fill gaps in that state but doesn't yet have

any commitments, a spokesman told The Hill.

At this time, we have no commitments from other carriers willing to cover that area

in 2018, said Kevin Walters, spokesman for Tennessees Department of Commerce and

Insurance.

They also don't have any assurances that the insurers already in Tennessee will stay there.

The Department agrees with Sen. Lamar Alexanders position that, absent any national direction,

there could be Tennesseans who currently buy insurance who may not have any choice for

insurance on the exchange in 2018, Walter said.

Alexander (R-Tenn.) has been supportive of stabilization measures to encourage insures

to stay in the market.

He and Sen. Bob Corker (R-Tenn.) also proposed a bill that would allow people who live in

counties without an ObamaCare insurer to use their subsidies for other plans on the individual

market.

In Iowa, two of the state's four insurers announced they would not participate in 2018

Wellmark Blue Cross Blue Shield and Aetna.

That leaves 94 of the states 99 counties with only one insurer, Medica, which said

it needs to carefully consider its options in light of Wellmark's announcement.

A spokesman with Medica told The Hill there is no update on Medicas plans.

But Anthem, which operates in 14 states, also appears to be eyeing the door.

Analysts at Jeffries, an investment bank, concluded that Anthem is leaning toward

exiting a high percentage of the areas it currently covers.

Anthem's departure would be devastating for the exchanges.

According to an analysis by Katherine Hempstead at the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, an

Anthem exit would leave nearly 300 counties with no carrier, including large parts of

Missouri, Kentucky and Georgia.

An additional 227 counties would only have one carrier, the analysis found.

Slavitt, the former CMS director, said if the Trump administration added clarity then

he thinks every county would have at least one insurer next year.

Ive had enough experience and conversations to believe if they put in the amount of effort

and enforce the law and pay cost sharing reductions, there will be insurers in every county, including

Knoxville.

Movies Hollywood Was Forced To Change For China - Duration: 11:12.

When it comes to global box office, China is projected to overtake the United States

as the biggest market in the world by 2020.

Chinese law, however, only allows 34 Hollywood films to be released on the mainland each

year, meaning there's an intense competition to earn one of those coveted slots.

And since Chinese censors are notoriously strict, outright banning movies they don't

like, Hollywood studios are more than happy to make changes to their films in order to

get a piece of the action.

Here's a look at some movies Hollywood was forced to change for China's sake.

Doctor Strange

Whitewashing is nothing new in Hollywood, but the problem has come to a head in recent

years with a bunch of controversial against-race castings.

In 2016, Marvel Studios came under fire for Doctor Strange, which cast Tilda Swinton in

the role of The Ancient One, who, in the comics, was a Tibetan mystic.

According to the film's co-writer, C. Robert Cargill, that presented Marvel with a major

problem, because the Chinese government refuses to recognize Tibet as an independent country.

He told the Double Toasted podcast, "The Ancient One was a racist stereotype who comes from

a region of the world that is in a very weird political place.

He originates from Tibet.

So if you acknowledge that Tibet is a place and that he's Tibetan, you risk alienating

one billion people [...] and risk the Chinese government going, 'Hey, you know one of the

biggest film-watching countries in the world?

We're not going to show your movie because you decided to get political.'"

Skyfall

2006's Casino Royale made history as, after 20 previous attempts to get him there had

proven unsuccessful, James Bond was finally introduced to China.

And the cost was just a few new lines of dialogue from Dame Judi Dench glossing over that whole

Cold War thing.

"In the old days if an agent did something that embarrassing he'd have the good sense

to defect.

Christ, I miss the Cold War."

However, 2012's Skyfall was subjected to heavy editing at the hands of Chinese censors, who

removed all references to torture tactics used by the Chinese authorities as well as

cutting a scene in which a Chinese security guard is killed during an assassination.

They decided to leave in a scene in which Bond asks a Chinese casino hostess about child

prostitution, though the Chinese subtitles deliberately misquote the secret agent, changing

his question to one about connections to the mafia as opposed to trafficking.

"Tattoo on your wrist is Macau sex trade.

You belong to one of the houses.

What were you, 12?"

Iron Man 3

One of the most shameless attempts at a China cash grab in recent years, Marvel's Iron Man

3 was influenced by Hollywood's newest eastern audience in more ways than one — the first

being the new take on Tony Stark's arch-nemesis.

There was clearly no way the racially insensitive Mandarin would ever be allowed to appear on

the big screen in China in his original comic book form.

So Marvel Studios and Iron Man 3 director Shane Black decided to scrap that version

entirely in favor of an all new, non-Asian, fake Mandarin played by Sir Ben Kingsley.

"Don't hurt the face!

I'm an actor."

"You've got a minute to live.

Fill it with words."

"Just a role.

The Mandarin!

See, it's not real."

But that was just the tip of the iceberg.

The studio also filmed a number of scenes specifically for the Chinese release, cutting

in four extra minutes of footage filled with product placement and a new Chinese mentor

for Tony Stark, Dr. Wu, who performs surgery on Stark and has a conversation with his computerized

assistant, J.A.R.V.I.S., in Mandarin.

The move backfired, however, with Chinese viewers seeing through the product placement

and questioning the logic of Dr. Wu's relevance to the story.

Since, y'know, he had none.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

Hollywood movies weren't shown in China at all when the original Star Wars trilogy made

waves domestically, and as a result, George Lucas' space opera just isn't very well known

there.

That fact showed plainly in the meager box office takings for The Force Awakens.

Episode VII's poor reception was clearly a cause for concern at Disney, who made moves

to ensure that 2016's Rogue One: A Star Wars Story didn't suffer the same fate.

Chinese stars Jiang Wen and Donnie Yen were hired in genuine supporting roles in an effort

to drum up interest in the spinoff, and their inclusion created plenty of hype.

Hong Kong-born Yen, China's second biggest action star after Jackie Chan, initially refused

the role of Chirrut over fears that his participation was just a marketing ploy.

However, director Gareth Edwards managed to convince him otherwise.

Yen told the South China Morning Post, "When the director approached me, I began by asking,

quite frankly, if it's a real character, or if he's only casting me based on commercial

considerations for the [Chinese] market.

Once he told me what my character was going to be like, and some of my lines, including

the iconic 'May the Force be with you,' I recognized the importance of my character."

Unfortunately, despite Edwards sticking to his word and even allowing Yen to choreograph

his own action sequences, Chinese audiences still didn't buy it, and the film bombed there.

Jonathan Papish from China Film Insider told TheWrap that "the small number of Donnie Yen

or Jiang Wen fans who turned out to see their faces were completely confused or bored with

the rest of the story."

Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End

Disney responded to reports that Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End, had suffered

quite the cull at the hands of China's censors by admitting that there had been some cuts.

But the Mouse House declined to elaborate further.

The franchise's previous installment, Dead Man's Chest, didn't get a release at all because

of its ghostly elements.

So for the series' third movie, Disney was happy to part ways with a number of scenes

in order to push it through.

Surprisingly, though, the scenes Chinese censors asked to be cut all involved Chow Yun-fat,

one of the most famous action stars in Chinese cinema.

It seems strange that Chinese authorities would insist on scenes featuring one of their

homegrown stars being removed from the film, but they were reportedly very unhappy with

Yun-fat's character Sao Feng.

The pirate lord of the South China Sea appears in traditional Qing dynasty garb with a shiny

bald head and long, dirty fingernails, an image censors in the country found to be an

offensive stereotype.

Most of the scenes setting up the character were deleted, making his sudden appearance

and death very confusing to Chinese audiences.

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1

China insists that 14 of the 34 Hollywood films it approves for mainland screening each

year must be presented in either 3D or IMAX, formats that have proven incredibly popular

there after heavy investment in the technology.

Lionsgate used this to their advantage when it came to releasing The Hunger Games: Mockingjay

– Part 1 in China, hoping to improve upon the disappointing returns of previous installment,

Catching Fire.

The first part of the franchise finale was converted to 3D especially for China, and

when it easily bested the previous films at the box office, Part 2 was given the same

treatment.

Converting movies to 3D to make a few extra bucks doesn't always work out, however.

The Bourne movies are very well known for employing an excess of shaky-cam in their

nauseatingly shot action sequences, yet Universal sought to milk fifth installment Jason Bourne

for all it was worth and released a 3D version in China.

According to Quartz, the result was "a line of people throwing up in the restroom of the

cinema," with one film fan begging Hollywood not to do anything that dumb again.

"Please don't offer 3D just to grab money anymore.

Chinese people are not stupid, we can vote with our feet and money."

Pixels

When Sony was subject to a cyber attack from what many suspect were hackers acting on behalf

of the North Korean government, a number of sensitive emails were dumped onto the internet

for all to see.

The leak revealed details of how the Adam Sandler comedy Pixels was changed for China:

a line of dialogue mentioning a "Communist conspiracy" was given the axe, and a scene

in which the country's beloved landmark the Great Wall comes under fire by the film's

arcade-themed alien invaders was cut from the script before filming began.

Li Chow, Sony's chief rep in China, told his stateside executives that "even though breaking

a hole on the Great Wall may not be a problem as long as it is part of a worldwide phenomenon,

it is actually unnecessary because it will not benefit the China release at all.

I would then, recommend not to do it."

Chow's recommendations didn't make a whole lot of difference in the end as the much-maligned

sci-fi comedy only pulled in $15 million there anyway.

Red Dawn

At one stage it looked as though the planned remake of 1984 Cold War cult classic Red Dawn

was going to be shelved when its original studio, MGM, ran into financial difficulties.

Contrafilm took the reins and the film finally got the green light for 2012, though even

after the production wrapped, the problems were far from over.

Chinese news outlets learned that the Soviet army that waged war on small-town America

in the original Red Dawn had been replaced by Chinese invaders.

The result came in the form of headlines, like "US re-shoots Cold War Movie to Demonize

China."

Naturally, the studio's execs panicked about their chances in the Asian market.

A decision was made to change the invading Chinese army to a North Korean one, with five

different special effects companies brought in to restore hopes of scoring big in China.

They were given the unenviable task of removing all references to a country that was essential

to the plot, digitally altering dialogue, and replacing every Chinese flag and symbol.

Dan Mintz from Chinese-based distributor DMG Entertainment said that if Red Dawn had been

released in its original form in China, "there would have been a real backlash.

It's like being invited to a dinner party and insulting the host all night long."

World War Z

Considering that World War Z spent years in development hell, with Paramount completely

rewriting and reshooting the last 40 minutes of the film at a cost of $75 million, you

wouldn't think the studio would have time to worry about trivial things like where the

offending virus originated.

As you've probably guessed by now, though, the zombie outbreak that ultimately consumes

the world in World War Z was supposed to start in China.

Instead, producers changed that to Hollywood's new favorite pariah — North Korea — minimizing

the risk of getting on the wrong side of the Chinese censors.

"Why'd you sell guns to the North?"

"Why not?"

"Are they surviving this?"

"Indeed they are."

In the end their re-shoots and nitpicking paid off in a big way, as Paramount was able

to boast that World War Z ended up becoming Brad Pitt's highest-grossing film to date.

While it failed to recoup its budget domestically, it earned more than $540 million after worldwide

receipts were tallied.

All options on table in dealing with N. Korea, China must suspend... - Duration: 2:59.

South Korea's Acting President Hwang Kyo-ahn and U.S. Vice President Mike Pence wrapped

their joint press conference about two hours ago.

They emphasized Washington's ironclad commitment to protecting South Korea and issued a strong

warning to the North.

For the details, we connect live to Connie Kim at the Prime Minister's residence where

the two met.

Connie?

Seoul and Washington's strong mutual will to maintain their alliance... and a stronger

than expected warning against North Korea were the messages from Acting President Hwang

and Vice President Pence this afternoon.

They said the two sides have developed a successful alliance over the years and will make that

even stronger in the future.

According to Hwang, they agreed on their aim of deterring threats from North Korea... and

reaffirmed Washington's "extended deterrence" provided to South Korea.

Pence noted North Korea's unprecedented string of missile launches over the past 18 months,

and reiterated that the era of "strategic patience" against North Korea is over,...

that all options in pressuring the North to give up its nuclear weapons program are on

the table.

Pence brought up the example of Washington's air strike on Syria and the dropping of its

most powerful non-nuclear bomb on ISIS positions in Afghanistan,... warning North Korea not

to test the new U.S. President's resolve or that of the American forces.

He made clear that both Seoul and Washington will effectively counter North Korea's any

conventional and nuclear attacks.

THAAD was also brought up during their talks -- that's the missile defense system being

deployed by the U.S. here in South Korea.

It's been a contentious issue domestically and with South Korea's neighbor to the west,

China.

A White House official traveling with Pence said whether the deployment process is completed

is up to the next South Korean president.

Right, acknowledging the THAAD row, Hwang made clear that the two countries will push

for the swift installation of the American military hardware.

Hwang also said that the two countries agreed to cooperate in swiftly ending China's retaliatory

actions against Seoul for deploying THAAD.

Pence took note of this issue as well, saying that Beijing must respond to the growing threat

from North Korea rather than taking action against Seoul for defending itself.

While the vice president called for Beijing to play an active role in resolving North

Korea's nuclear threats, he reiterated that Washington will do it by itself if China doesn't

cooperate.

This is something we've heard from President Trump as well before and after his summit

with Chinese president Xi Jinping this month.

Overall, Seoul and Washington sent out a stern message to the North, but what result that

has on the reclusive regime's behavior will have to be seen.
