Trump administration will review and reform S. Korea-U.S. FTA: Pence - Duration: 1:58.

We start with the strong comments on trade by visiting U.S. Vice President Mike Pence.

Addressing American and Korean business leaders in Seoul this morning,...

Pence said it's time to review and reform the two countries' free trade deal.

His comments are in line with those of his boss -- President Trump -- who made reducing

trade deficits and protecting American jobs one of his top campaign pledges.

The Trump administration is planning to review the five-year-old free trade agreement between

South Korea and the U.S.

That's according to U.S. Vice President Mike Pence, who was speaking at an event in Korea

on Tuesday hosted by the American Chamber of Commerce, his last stop in the country.

"Despite the strong ties between the U.S. and Korea, we have to honest about where our

trade relationship is.

Most concerning is the fact that the U.S. trade deficit with South Korea has more than

doubled since KORUS came into effect."

During his campaign, Trump had threatened to pull out of the FTA with Korea, calling

it a "job killing deal" that doubled America's trade deficit with South Korea and destroyed

nearly 100-thousand American jobs -- though the voracity of the figure has been disputed.

In Seoul on Tuesday, Pence reiterated Trump's pledge to protect American jobs and put America

first when it comes to trade.

"Our businesses continue to face too many barriers of entry, which tilled the playing

field against the American worker and American growth.

President Trump has made it clear the U.S. will pursue an America first policy in trade

and exchange."

In line with his campaign pledges, Trump signed an executive order formally withdrawing the

U.S. from the Trans-Pacific Partnership trade deal soon after he took office and is seeking

renegotiation of the North American Free Trade Agreement.

Teams preparing to enter Sewol-ho ferry to start search for nine missing passengers - Duration: 1:48.

The search for the nine passengers who are still missing after the Sewol-ho ferry sinking

three years ago... is expected to get underway later today.

Workers are clearing debris and creating access points for nine teams that are preparing to

enter the vessel.

Hwang Hojun reports.

When the Sewol-ho ferry sank in 2014, 304 people were left dead and nine went missing.

Just over three years later, the search for the nine missing passengers is about to begin.

A government official said Tuesday most of the walls inside the ship have collapsed,

forming a seven-meter barricade along with piles of mud.

"In order to find the remains of the missing, we need to get rid of the wall of debris first.

So we've decided to create entry points on the hull for personnel from the investigation

committee, the maritime affairs ministry and the Korea Salvage Company to initiate the

search."

Workers have set up nine zones -- six on the port side on the A deck on the fourth floor...

and three on the B deck on the third floor -- that will be the starting points for the

investigation.

Once an access point has been secured, nine teams of eight people will enter the vessel.

A team will also search the bow of the A deck, too.

As for the stern of the ship, operators will remove the handrails and enter the hull vertically

through an already exposed opening and will move toward the bow.

The on-site search operation headquarters said the search will immediately be suspended

if any remains are recovered.

They will then dispatch exhumation and identification experts to gather the evidence and take DNA

samples.

Once they are able to compare the DNA and find a match, the remains will be handed over

to the families who have been waiting so long for closure.
