Hi, it's Julie again and this time

I'll show you what Seido has to offer

when it comes to made in Japan black belts.

Yes, they are all 100% made in Japan.

In case you just passed your first black belt exam:

congratulations!

A black belt is something special and you're

likely to keep it for many years

and countless hours of practice.

So we want you to make the right choice

and get the belt that suits you and your practice best!

In our last video we presented two whites belts,

the "soft white belt"

and the "slim white belt".

We'll start with their counterparts in black.

The soft black belt is labeled "Soft"

as the core is of thin cotton cloth,

resulting in the softest

high-quality belt you'll find on the market.

The outer layer is also made

of cotton and features 9 lines of

stitching on a width of only 4 cm (1.6").

The combination of these

points make it particularly soft and flexible.

You can see that the knot is

tight and small and the ends very soft.

If you want the "bulge" of the belt under your hakama

to be as small as possible,

that's the Obi to go with.

And on top of that, this belt is so thin and soft,

you'll barely notice it on your back when rolling over it.

Maybe, the soft belt is a touch too soft for you

and you want a belt that is a bit stiffer and wider.

In that case, let's check out the slim black belt.

Compared to the soft black belt,

the slim black belt features not just a simple cloth,

but a soft cotton core,

covered with a cotton outer layer.

This belt has 10 lines of stitchings

and features a width of 4.5 cm (1.8").

As you can see , these 3 elements

make this Obi rigid and durable,

with the ends holding straight and with a bit of a bigger knot.

Yet, this belt is still slim and flexible enough

to be comfortably tied under the Hakama,

and that makes it the perfect belt for Aikido.

It's our team's recommendation;

and some of us have actually been wearing

that belt for many years.

The slim black belt is also available as "reinforced" version,

that is identical to the slim version,

but features 3 more lines of stitchings, for a total of 13 lines.

This makes it slightly more rigid and stiffer

for a nice and big knot

and of course, optimum durability.

Looking for something classier?

Let's check out the Shusu black belt model.

Its width is also of 4.5 cm (1.8"),

and the core made of cotton.

But what catches the eye is definitely its shiny finish.

Although this belt is entirely made of cotton,

the glossy outer layer almost reminds you of satin,

and to top it off it has a whole 15 lines of stitching.

This belt will give you a significantly bigger knot with

the ends staying straight.

That's the model to go with if you want a belt that

looks like a Judo (rather thick) belt,

but is less thick and rigid as the belts offered by judo brands

Last but not least the Japanese silk black belt.

Yes, the cotton core is covered with an outer layer of

Japanese silk, the same silk that is also

used for traditional Japanese Kimono.

A width of 4.5 cm (1.8") and

a total of 16 lines of stitching

- shipped in a traditional wooden gift box -

it can't get any more exquisite than this.

It is the choice for a present to a friend or a teacher

- or to yourself.

Just keep in mind that silk is more fragile than cotton,

so we advise to use it for special events and demonstrations

rather than for everyday's practice.

Now that you know which belt you want,

you're probably wondering what size you should pick.

On our website, the belt length according to the size

is indicated when selecting the size.

We recommend to measure your current belt

and choose the closest size.

Just note that the thicker and wider a belt

the bigger the knot.

So, for the Shusu and Japanese silk model,

you might want to add 10 extra centimeters (about 4")

which is half a size in our system, to make sure it is long enough.

Belts shrink up to 10 cm,

but they stretch back to

almost their original size, so you don't

have to worry too much about shrinkage.

With your black belt you probably want

some nice customization and we've got you covered!

For black belts we offer two types of embroidery :

integrated and non-integrated embroideries.

The integrated embroidery is an embroidery made

during the manufacture of the belt,

overstitched and invisible on the reverse side.

It's durable and looks amazing

-and as a black belt symbolizes a significant

step on every martial art practitioner's way,

Just note for quality reasons we don't offer

integrated embroideries on the soft black belt.

Non-integrated embroideries

are stitched onto an existing belt,

on top of the lines of stitching and are

visible on the reverse side.

Less durable than the integrated embroideries,

but of similar quality.

Fresno State Reports Own Professor for 'Trump Must Hang' Tweet

Virulently anti-Trump professors -- by which I mean "most professors" -- feel pretty invincible.

After all, when a video recently surfaced of a professor comparing the election of Trump

to a terrorist attack, the student filming it got punished.

So imagine Fresno State professor Lars Maischak's surprise last week when his tweet demanding

President Trump be hung was reported to law enforcement by Fresno State's president:

Though Maischak did not respond to Campus Reform's initial inquiry on the matter,

he did try to clarify his comments on Twitter, saying that while he "did not intend to

harm Mr. Trump" nor "wish for anyone else to harm Mr. Trump by way of an assassination,"

he does think "given the nature of [Trump's] regime, that he will be held accountable for

his crimes in a court, and that historical precedent suggests that a death sentence is

inevitable, if democracy prevails."

Now, however, Campus Reform has been informed that university President Joseph Castro promptly

alerted multiple federal agencies to the tweets after becoming aware of them, and has been

in "regular contact with federal authorities" over the past several days.

"President Castro said that the university alerted the FBI, Secret Service, and Homeland

Security as soon as it became aware of the comments made by Dr. Maischak on Twitter,"

Director of Communications Kathleen Schock told Campus Reform.

"He went on to say that the university been in regular contact with federal authorities.

There are no other details we can disclose about those communications."

The tweet in question from Maischak's now apparently deleted Twitter account read:

To save American democracy, Trump must hang.

The sooner and the higher, the better.

I spend a lot of my time reporting some crappy news about school administrators.

President Castro's decision to adhere to the law is a welcome change and should be applauded.

It can be argued that Maischak didn't spell out his desire to assassinate the president

-- that's for the investigators to decide.

However, his claims that he doesn't want someone else to assassinate Trump rings hollow considering

what he also expressed last week: This does undermine his "just making an observation"

defense.

Whoops.

President Castro's decision to report this to the authorities was the right one for the

country and for his campus.

The press is playing this one right down the middle -- both sides are to blame for the

violence that erupted in Berkeley when pro- and anti-Trump protesters clashed.

But here's a video that clearly shows the black clad, masked anti-Trump protesters initiating

much of the violence.

CNN:

Eleven people were injured, with seven transported to the hospital in unknown condition, Berkeley

Police spokesman Byron White told CNN.

"A large number of fights have occurred and numerous fireworks have been thrown in the

crowds," Berkeley police said in a statement.

"There have also been numerous reports of pepper spray being used in the crowd."

CNN affiliate KPIX reported that Trump supporters planned a "Patriot Day" rally at noon and

counter-protesters showed up a few hours earlier.

Hundreds of people had gathered in Civic Center Park.

Police set up a barrier of orange mesh fence to separate the two sides but it quickly fell

down as protesters started fighting, KPIX said.

Video showed crowds spilling into nearby streets.

Scuffles broke out, fireworks, bottles and traffic cones were thrown into crowds and

dumpsters and trash cans were hauled into streets.

One man set afire a red "USA" hat and held it overhead.

Police donned gas masks as they used pepper spray on the crowd.

A Berkeley station for BART, the mass transit system, was shut down because of the disturbance,

CNN affiliate KRON said.

Police said they confiscated prohibited items including hand-held flagpoles, a knife, a

stun gun, helmets and signs, and flags attached to poles, KRON reported.

A police officer was treated and released from a hospital after someone threw either

pepper spray or tear gas into the crowd, White said.

He added that a person in the crowd was treated and released after being sprayed with "bear

spray," an irritant spray used to deter aggressive bears in wilderness areas.

The anarchists are professional rioters who brag about "bashing fascists."

The Trump supporters are ordinary Americans.

Despite the talk from climate hysterics about greedy corporations opposing efforts to combat

global warming, the facts tend to speak for themselves.

International corporate giants have been on board the climate-change bandwagon for more

than a decade.

Their reasons have nothing to do with science and everything to do with reading the writing

on the wall.

If the world is going to go off half-cocked and suck the life out of the industrialized

economies combating climate change, big business wants to be in a position to influence what

happens to them.

It's no different than hiring another lobbyist in Washington or Brussels.

Whatever expense there is in supporting the climate hysterics will be more than offset

by savings in guiding the debate in ways that keep them operating.

So the question is, will corporations use their influence on President Trump to urge

him to accept the Paris climate accord?

rely predictable, based as it is on the simple concept of maximizing profits given the realities

in which they exist.

Any claim to morality or "good citizenship" is true only as long as it serves that overriding

goal.

So yes, it's a great PR move to play along with climate-change hysterics, all the while

working as hard as they can to keep the devil from their door.

The devil in this case is the desire of many internationalists to force companies to cede

control to some world body that knows best how to divvy up resources like fossil fuels.

Given the choice, corporations prefer to cooperate (to a certain point) in order to avoid the

worst.

I suspect that Trump would prefer not to be demonized by the world press and might listen

to the importuning of corporations not to make the U.S. into an international villain

by blowing up the Paris accords.

It wouldn't be the first time that Trump reneged on a campaign promise or pulled a 180-degree

shift on a position.

Still, it would disappoint many of his supporters who think climate change is a "hoax" and the

carbon emission schemes advanced by the Obama administration are worse than useless.An

We get it.

You do not like Donald Trump.

You've made your voices heard from the moment the results were announced.

The shrieking and screaming made that abundantly clear.

You didn't need to get violent, but you did.

After Milo's speech at Berkeley, you got bolder.

Everywhere you raised your ire, especially with violence, you got away with it.

Following Berkeley, officials at the college claimed the rioters weren't their own students,

but you knew better.

So did we.

This weekend, near your first and most important "triumph," you thought you'd do it again.

You thought you would shut down a free speech rally simply because they were saying things

you didn't like.

Why wouldn't it work again?

You've been exhorting each other to "Bash the Fash," and some of you have actually been

trying to learn how to do it.

Now, after being beaten and chased away at the "Battle of Berkeley," you are pondering

how to up your game.

There are calls to be better organized and better trained -- the irony of anarchists

looking to organize better is lost on you.

But you are hoping that the next time you try to harm people in the name of restricting

liberty, you won't get stomped.

Why can't you morons see where this path with lead you?

Your decision to use violence to create political change won't actually stop your opponents.

You'll just vindicate their position.

Everyone not involved will care less and less about what you have to say about anything.

Roy's NDIS Story - Duration: 3:16.

I'm Roy Davie.

I'm a father of two boys.

I'm engaged.

I run two home businesses.

I'm studying part time.

I work part time at the Collingwood Football Club community centre.

And I'm also a C1 incomplete quadriplegic.

My injury happened in 2009.

I spent four months in hospital.

At the time I was told that I would be a quadriplegic

and for me that meant, life being completely

confined to a wheel chair and relying on support 24/7.

I spent a good sort of three years really just confined to the house

doing nothing, and that was a pretty dark time.

I, yeah, just felt like life was pretty much over

and I couldn't do the things I loved to do anymore.

What have you got for lunch today?

It was 2013 just before the roll out.

I was told that I would be transferring from my DHS package to NDIS.

The NDIS has, helped me to be more independent,

by supporting me with modifications to my new house.

Helping me get back driving a car.

Driving a car has been huge for me.

That's allowed me to be able to go out and do things

with just the boys and on my own.

Also, they've helped, get me back to the gym,

which will lead to the ultimate goal of being able to walk a lot more

and not have to rely on the chair as much as what I do.

My original plans were around that independence and being able

to just have some freedom to do stuff.

My current plan now

is to have some sort of intense rehab and physiotherapy

to allow me to improve on my walking and my general mobility and my strength.

To be able to obviously walk around with the boys and...who knows,

I may be able to walk into their classroom!

Life today is completely different.

I'm up with two boys in the morning, getting them ready for school.

I get myself to the gym and I can go home,

make myself my breakfast, have a shower, get dressed,

go to work, go to uni and study.

You know, be out and about.

Ready to go? C'mon let's go.

I live by the motto,

"I am not what happened to me.

I am what I choose to become".

and the NDIS has given me the choice to be able to live independently

and achieve those goals that I set in place.

It's given me the chance to choose to be a better father,

a better person, and to be more actively involved in the community.

To have that choice and that flexibility

to be able to do those things has been fantastic.
