Hello! My name is Michael and in this short video I'll try to look into the future.
I'm not trying to be a prophet, just want to discuss the development of public transport and the process of people's transportation
The largest automakers are desperately fighting for their client, featuring cars with more and more advanced options
The design is close to perfection; the comfort of even the most inexpensive car can not be compared with what was still 15-20 years ago
Technologies do not stand still - hybrid engines and even electric cars replace petrol engines
Tesla company in 2018 is preparing for the release of its first budget electric car, the cost of the base version of which
will be 35000 dollars, which is comparable to the prices of budget premium segment cars
In general, the company is doing really well, opening new dealerships around the world and
expanding its network of electric fueling stations called Supercharger
The Toyota auto giant recently started selling the first car that works on hydrogen fuel - the Toyota Mirai
Undoubtedly the most environmentally friendly internal combustion engine, the only outflow of which is water
In general, the number of brands, models, and accessories is growing, but does it make using the car more comfortable?
Here I am inclined to give a negative answer
With the increase in the number of cars, the size of traffic jams is steadily increasing
I perfectly remember how I stood for 1.5-2 hours in a traffic jam on Moscow Ring Road
when returning home from work, and I had to drive only 20 mi
Many will be surprised, but in Los Angeles traffic jams are even worse
That's what happened one day before Thanksgiving in Los Angeles
Agree, not the fastest way to get to a family or friends on such a holiday
Governments spend huge budgets on the construction of new roads, interchanges, but this does not solve the problem
the number of cars and motorists is growing faster
The question arises: is transport developing in the right direction at all?
How can you avoid traffic jams?
Do we have to spend a lot of money on road construction and infrastructure development?
Most recently, I bought a drone
it's a quad copter with a camera on the remote control for capturing beautiful landscapes and generally anything
This aircraft gets to the altitude of 1000 ft in a minute
where it can fly without any obstacles in any direction
During my next flight on the drone, the idea came to my mind
why there is still no passenger drone for transporting people
My drone costs $700, make it 20 times bigger
let it cost $15,000, but it will be possible to man-fly!
It turned out that I was wrong - such drone already exists!
Meet the first in the world passenger drone Ehang 184
manufactured in China
What are you seeing now is not an experimental model but a real drone
which you can already buy
Briefly about the characteristics
The weight of the drone is 530 lb, the flight time is up to 30 minutes, 8 motors, the time to fully charge is 1 hour
the maximum flight altitude is 11500 ft
The average flight speed is 37 mi/h
The drone can be loaded by a passenger weighing up to 220 lb and a small hand baggage
The material of the body is carbon, and also various alloys of aluminum are used
The dimensions of the drone are 13 by 13 ft, taking into account the propellers' size
A tablet with an LTE enabled is installed
The price is just $300,000
But one question remains opened
where to use this drone?
The answer is - the city Dubai, UAE
permitted to use the drone as a taxi
Starting July 2017 you can order
not an ordinary Uber or Lyft
but a flying taxi-drone
But I would like to return to the question that I raised at the very beginning
where is the development of transport going?
In my opinion, the drones with a traffic control center are the future of public and personal transport
There is no need for road construction and all related infrastructure
Technology is developing so quickly that in 5-7 years, passenger drones will compete with the cars
The question is how quickly governments will approve the necessary laws on airspace
By the way, Dubai is the first city in the world, in which taxi-drones are already allowed
Now the authorities of the city of Las Vegas, Nevada, process a similar permit
Let's wait a bit and soon the trip to the supermarket will turn into a flight
with an automatic landing on the roof of this supermarket
traffic jams will cease to exist
as the drones can fly at different heights, and the safety of such trips will be at the highest level
