Youtube daily report Jul 20 2017

hey guys what's up it's Charlie here and today we're going to be looking at 10

humans with real superpowers caught on tape superheroes are super popular this

is because everyone loves stories about people with an insane amount of power

and strength and one of the best things about them is that normally if they have

towers good you're way beyond what most people think would be possible but there

are some people who actually have these crazy near impossible superpowers and

these are the people that we're going to be looking at today

subscribe and turn on notifications and comment done when you've done this first

shout out at the end of our next video coming in at number 10 that we have wim

HOF this is one guy you'd want with you if you were travelling anywhere cold

he's had extreme conditioning to severe weather meaning he can survive in really

cold temperatures he's even learned several breathing

techniques allowing him to further his resistance to the cold women uses his

powers to do crazy things in extremely cold temperatures most of you wouldn't

dare even going near Mount Everest without a large Parker and some thick

trousers but swing timed Everest in just shorts and shoes

he's also accomplished many other amazing things in the freezing cold this

includes marathons in the snow and staying in a tube of ice water for hours

and this is without even feeling how any normal person would feel when exposed to

such severe temperatures the things women has done is the kind of thing you

can't even imagine being possible but you have to remember that women known as

Iceman has had years of training and it really isn't recommended as you can be

badly affected by cold weather in many ways so this is definitely something you

should leave to the professionals next up is Daniel smear Daniel Smith is known

to many as rubber boy this is because of his amazing flexibility and

contortionist act performed all around the world disability was partly due to a

natural born skill but it was also due to expanding his abilities through lots

of intense training and he can do many instrument abilities

please include things such as twisting his body more than what is technically

possible he's also able to fit into and out of seemingly impossible places this

includes things such as suitcases and very small boxes and he can even work

his way back out of these objects again this has led to him becoming very

you know all around the world leading him to do this as a full-time job doing

shows all around the world this makes it super easy to see why he must be some

kind of superhero anyone who is super popular because of their superhuman

talents must be pretty good at it and deserves a spot on this lid

especially when it's doing something as crazy as being able to fit into a tiny

little box next up is Dean Karnazes a lot of people may have already heard

of think on answers this is because he's a successful author and it's very well

documented for his superpower so what kind of ability could bring him so much

attention that would be that he has superhero levels of stamina this was

proven when he ran on a treadmill for 80 hours straight this means he can run for

three days and nights without even beginning to get tired that's right a

whole three days I couldn't even go three days without sleeping but this guy

can run the whole time this is all thanks there is a natural amount of

energy reserved he has achieved some of the most impressive feats ever seen by

mankind one of these feats of incredible resistance is being able to run 50

marathons in 50 states in only 50 days of course this isn't without any support

and he needs huge amounts of energy to keep going but I'm sure if he was given

enough food and water he could probably run forever next up is either hamachi

now this is one scary guy Idaho is a living samurai and possibly the greatest

swordsman in the world and his sword speed is one of the fastest in the world

and he's won several World Records for his amazing sword skills such as most

katana cuts to a mat most katana cuts to a straw mat and even most katana cuts to

a tennis ball and this was a temple moving at 820 kilometers an hour

that's nearly 510 miles an hour this would make you think he can do even

crazier things like chopping bullets whoo-ha

yeah just imagine if we could actually do that well I got a surprise for you he

actually can how do I know this because he actually did this exact thing in 2011

one of the most crazy things about him is his ability to predict things he can

actually predict the trajectory of objects before they even thrown and his

predictions are always insanely accurate normally being within millimeters of an

object's actual trajectory he's also a great athlete due to his amazing

predictive and incredible speed and he's now

decided to teach his skills the student at the martial arts school

imagine having this guy as your teacher next up is Tai know this guy has even

got an origin story just like a real superhero after recovering from a

terrible fever in 1973 I was changed in a very bizarre way this was because he

no longer felt tightness or even a need to please this was over 43 years ago and

according to many sources he hasn't slept once during that entire time

that's right he's gone 43 years without sleeping one it sounds pretty important

but it's definitely true and many reputable sources have reported it

surely this must have had some kind of bad impact on him mentally and

physically but surprisingly it's had no real effect on him mentally or

physically and he seems as healthy as he was before this shortened series of

events began the good thing about this is he has a lot of spare time during the

night this has led to him taking up many night jobs as well as day jobs this has

allowed him to earn a lot more money causing him to live a way more

comfortable life than he had before sometimes I wish I had that power making

these videos takes a lot of time you know next up is Lou so Lynn if you've

ever seen x-men then you're probably familiar with the character magneto he

was the villain for many films and had a pretty useful power of controlling metal

objects and I'm sure at one point most of you probably thought Sal is a pretty

useful power but also one that's totally impossible for us to have well look for

this guy okay he might not be able to make metal objects become attracted to

him from a distance but he has no trouble actually sticking them to his

body this includes subjects up to 4 to 4.5 pounds in weight he can stick things

like forks spoons clothing lines and stuff like hammers and knives to his

body and oddly enough this it was because of some kind of weird magnetic

ability as he can't actually attract metal objects towards him this means he

has no magnetic field his ability to stick metal to himself is actually a bit

more complicated than that and it's all to do with his body cells he has a

structure of cells with a much stronger friction this means his cells are

basically like suction cups meaning that metal objects just stick to

his body like magic it's kind of like how you can probably balanced the end of

a spoon on your nose but way more cool next up is a rusty hate pledge one point

or another you've probably been hurt pretty bad

and the chances are you want to stay away from that kind of thing ever

happening again but rusty thinks almost the opposite this is because for a job

he tests cause for safety in the event of collision he might think they would

use a crash-test dummy so they don't have to end up in hospital but rusty

sees are much more direct approach becoming the actual collision test dummy

himself rusty athenian around 500 plus

collisions and has never been in an instant serious enough to send him to

hospital in fact he has never been in a serious instance during his whole career

as a collision tester this just goes to show some people are built from Schroder

stuff than most of us he actually enjoys his job answers the adrenaline rush

during collision this makes him want to keep coming back and given his record of

never being injured there's no reason why he can't

he's also famously said the only injury he's ever got is a small cut on his hand

and even that was just from a faulty airbag next up is Shakuntala Devi I'm

pretty sure this person is a super genius she's widely regarded as one of

the smartest people on earth but that's not the strange part about it while most

people work out a simple method to calculate difficult equations she uses a

different approach she's actually done this since birth and has an entirely

different way of understanding numbers to other people on earth and her

mathematic excellence is best shown by her show in London in 1980 she was

tasked with the complex equation of multiplying together to 13 digits

numbers and after only half a minute and no calculator she answered correctly

this was a 26 digit number which not even a calculator could fully answer as

it wouldn't fit on most screens this is just one of the many situations where

she's proved her superpower I guess you could say she really summed up her

abilities next up is Liam hooch stirrer when we were kids most of us probably

wanted to be Superman it would be pretty amazing if you had one of his insane

powers and his most useful power has got to be super strength it would also

probably be the hardest to get however but for this guy it's the power he

already has he's been called the young Superman by friends and family this is

because he had 40% body muscle and little too low body fat when he was

first discovered so why is he called young Superman well

this is because we have an insane body at just 3 years old as he ages he's

achieving more and more incredible things efforts with me and he is

unsurprisingly way stronger than every other kid at his school I guess that

means there's no child Keith ever goes get picked on next up is Guildford learn

Tim Cridland is suddenly known as the more of the king and is incredibly

famous around the world and it's not for the world's most awesome stage name it's

actually a case of him being able to feel no pain at all he's a master of

surviving some of the most brutal torturous feats ever performed this is

because of the fact he can physically not feel pain this is down to a genetic

disorder which has led to him being able to do some gross stuff to his body

without even noticing that it's being done this means he can do things like

electrocution sword swallowing and even body skewering most of you probably

don't even know what body skewering is but one thing for sure it doesn't sound

like fun there is a major downside to this however it could possibly be called

his kryptonite the downside is because he can't feel

any pain his body can't warn him when he's overworking himself this means

without proper training and a lot of self-discipline he could easily go way

too far in a stunt and end up passing away fortunately he studied his Anatomy

extensively so he has a clear understanding of what too far really is

as he now knows his limits he likely won't suffer bad effects from his

disorder as can really harness his super power float on the pole in the top right

corner and you can vote for the most amazing superhuman

I think it's wim HOF because he climbs the walls tallest mountain in short this

video shout-out goes to K Cortes subscribe and turn on notifications and

comment done for a shout out in the next video but as always thanks for watching

check out some more videos on screen right now leave a like if you enjoyed

and if you haven't already what are you waiting for subscribe to top 10

Do You Have an Unconscious Mind? - Duration: 4:53.

This episode is brought to you by the Great Courses Plus.

[INTRO ♪]

It's one of the most annoying comment memes out there:

"You are now breathing manually."

You read that, and suddenly your breathing starts to get distracting.

Is it too fast?

Too slow?

Most of the time, your breathing is unconscious, which is just easier.

It happens on its own, and you can focus on other things.

But you can have your attention drawn to it, and maybe control it a bit.

It turns out that a lot of psychological processes are like that, too.

They're part of the unconscious mind—

anything that affects your thoughts, feelings, or behaviors without you being aware of it.

That's different from the subconscious, a term that's generally used to mean things

you're not currently aware of

but could call to mind, like a memory.

The unconscious is a lot harder to access, because by definition, you don't know what's in there.

But after decades of debate and research, most psychologists agree that it does exist.

It's hard to even mention the unconscious mind without talking about

one of the most famous bearded figures in psychology: the Austrian psychologist

Sigmund Freud.

Freud wasn't the first to talk about the idea of an unconscious mind,

but he got people around the world talking about it in a way they hadn't before.

He thought the mind was made of three parts: the id, the ego, and the superego.

The superego and id were kind of like the angel and devil sitting on your shoulder,

whispering in your ears like in old cartoons.

The id would whisper your selfish desires, and was the source of your base biological urges—

which, according to Freud, were often sexual desires.

The superego was like your moral conscience: it focused on rules your parents gave you

and society's expectations for how to behave.

And the ego was you in the middle, weighing the influence of the id and superego

and deciding what to do.

According to Freud, the id and superego were mostly unconscious,

so you didn't know they were influencing your choices or thoughts.

It's like an iceberg: you can only see the small part that's floating on the top,

but there's way more underneath that's holding it up.

So how did the id and superego get down there?

Well, according to Freud, it was through repression of painful childhood events.

You'd push the memories to the back of your mind, to the unconscious.

You didn't know they were there, but they could still influence your behaviors.

There's just a small problem with this.

We have no solid evidence that people repress memories that affect them this way.

People forget things, of course, but they don't have memories they think they forgot

lurking around in the back of their minds, waiting to be discovered.

That doesn't mean the idea of the unconscious mind is wrong, though.

Things can still affect your behavior without you being aware of it.

Our understanding of the the unconscious mind has evolved quite a bit since Freud,

including a weird phase when scientists thought they could completely explain human behavior

without a mind at all.

But Freud had a key insight: people could behave in ways they didn't intend,

or be influenced to act by things they're unaware of.

We just no longer think of it like whole, secret personalities stowed within us.

You can find examples of unconscious processes all over psychology.

One major field of study is priming, when people respond differently based on something

that happened to them before.

A surprising example of this was a study that asked people to identify some line drawings.

The drawings were kind of broken up, so it was hard to tell what they were meant to be.

Some subjects got to see the normal pictures beforehand, and another group didn't.

Even though the group that got to see the images beforehand saw them 17 years earlier,

they still did better at identifying the drawings.

A bunch of people didn't remember that they were even part of the study that long ago.

But they were still better at identifying the drawings.

Somehow, seeing the drawings almost two decades earlier had affected their unconscious.

There are lots of different types of priming, and it's worth mentioning that there have

been a handful of priming studies

that couldn't be reproduced, and even a few that were fraudulent.

But this kind of memory priming has been a pretty reliable effect that's been studied

for decades.

And there are loads more processes that we know must be unconscious—

like implicit biases, and the procedural memories that store information on how to do things

like tie your shoes.

Which means there was a big kernel of truth in Freud's theory: the unconscious mind

must exist,

because experimenters can see the way things we're not aware of change our behavior.

So we might not always know why we behave the way we do, or the real reasons behind

our thoughts and feelings.

There's a whole lot going on in your mind under the surface.

History of Sudden Strike (1997-2017) - Video Game History - Duration: 6:30.

Sudden Strike is a series of real-time tactics games set in World War II.

You control a faction such as the Germans, the Soviets, or the Allied forces and your

goal is then to win conflicts using your infantry, tanks and artillery units

However, the first game in the series was not called Sudden Strike.

Counter Action was developed by the Russian company Nashi Igry as a response to the success

of the Command & Conquer game.

The gameplay was similar, however, Counter Action did not include any building or resource

gathering but focused solely on controlling your forces on the battlefield.

The game was a success largely due to the fact of its World War II setting that set

it apart from other real-time tactics or strategy games of the period.

In 1999 Nashi Igry changed their name to Fireglow Games, and it was under this name that they

developed the sequel to Counter Action which became the first Sudden Strike.

It was released in 2000.

However, in Russia, the game was dubbed Counter Action 3 as the planned Counter Action 2 project

had fallen apart.

Sudden Strike had more realistic gameplay compared to Counter Action and helped pioneer

the real-time tactics genre.

It also included multiplayer modes.

To the surprise of publisher Cdv Software Entertainment, Sudden Strike sold more than

600,000 copies and a sequel was immediately planned.

While the sequel was in development, Fireglow Games developed Sudden Strike Forever.

Sudden Strike Forever was released in 2001 as an expansion to the original Sudden Strike

game.

The expansion introduced a more polished game engine, more campaigns, much more historically

correct units and equipment, new terrains, and a map and scenario editor.

Sudden Strike 2 was released in 2002.

Still called Counter Action 4 in Russia, the game introduced an improved engine that allowed

for better graphics and the ability to command battleships, airfields, aircrafts, and trains.

Sudden Strike 2 also introduced a new enemy in Japan, who you could battle in tropical

jungle levels.

Like the other games in the series, Sudden Strike 2 received positive reviews from critics.

Sudden Strike: Resource War was released in 2004 as an enhanced version of Sudden Strike 2.

It added 4 new campaigns, but also a controversial building and resource system that became heavily

criticized by players and critics alike.

This system created the need for players to micromanage their faction by creating factories

to produce tanks and vehicles, repairing buildings, and securing ammunition and fuel for their vehicles.

In 2006, Xendex Entertainment created Sudden Strike: Mobile Edition which was published

by Living Mobile.

It was a simplified version of classical Sudden Strike gameplay and included three campaigns

with four levels each, allowing you to play as the Germans, Soviets and Allied forces.

Sudden Strike 3: Arms for Victory was released in 2007 and was the first game in the series

to feature 3D graphics.

The game was received with mixed reviews, however, GameSpot has called Sudden Strike

3 the best in the franchise.

In 2009, Sudden Strike: The Last Stand was released as an improved version of Sudden Strike 3.

It added a reworked user interface making it easier for the player to control units.

Also, it included an improved map editor that made it possible to create trenches.

Unfortunately, this game also turned out to be the last stand for Cdv Software and Fireglow

Games who both ceased to exist around 2010.

By 2016, the German company Kalypso Media had obtained the rights to the Sudden Strike

franchise and announced Sudden Strike 4 which was to be developed by Hungarian company Kite Games.

However, in 2017, a few months before the release of Sudden Strike 4, Kalypso Media

released an app called Sudden Strike Quiz that allowed the player to battle against

people from all over the world in a quiz testing your knowledge of World War II.

By beating other players you were able to obtain a discount of up to 25% on Sudden Strike

4 when stacked with the existing Steam discount.

Sudden Strike 4 is the newest game in the franchise and releases in August.

Sudden Strike 4 will mark the first time a game in the franchise is released on a console

as it is being released on the PlayStation 4 a few days after the launch of its computer version

The game will feature three campaigns and 20 scenarios, a skirmish mode, and, of course,

a competitive multiplayer mode and will also feature modding support.

For the first time in the franchise, you also have the ability to choose between nine different

commanders with their own specific skill set, including George Patton and Bernard Montgomery.

ART FOR THE WELL-BEING - Duration: 2:16.

These art project is awarded by BASF - SUVINIL.

ART FOR THE WELL-BEING

The project "Art for the well-being" was born in the intention to take

art, culture and well-being for people.

So I use artistic elements such as shapes, colors and optical effects,

and neuroaesthetic studies is a brand new area thats a new esthetic area.

to compose a piece of art that when the person leaves he or she will be than before.

These art project was born by the place and for the place.

The spot is the Av. Juscelino Kubtschek in São Paulo Brazil, that has a lot of traffic.

So these "site specific" public art project has the intention to

create a good moment, harmonic through art,

that the person can have the beneficial effects of the blue color.

The gold color has the intention to revitalize

to create the notion of abundance.

it's the complementary color of the cobalt blue of the artistic light color system to make equilibrium in the eye system, neuroperceptive system.

These perceptions where unified and the color hue of passage to produce well-being is the green

green, the green for the art piece regulates the homeostases

so it helps to make a passage tone so when the person leaves helps to refresh and make equilibrium for the person.

My objetive is to deliver an artistic mural that make well-being for those who see it

that the viewer can take an cultural moment in the city.

When you connect the heart in what you make

in general it brings more happiness!

Thats why I put in the art piece a 6 point star in the place.

These place brings joy, so... when I paint whetever I do my projects I put my heart in it.

I fell that these help to do.

>>WHAT EVERYONE HERE

AT MERCY HOME FOR BOYS AND GIRLS

KNOWS FOR SURE,

BUT PERHAPS MANY OF YOU

DO NOT KNOW,

IS I LOVE TO GARDEN.

I LOVE GARDENING!

AND WHEN I CAME TO MERCY HOME

YEARS AGO I SORT OF INSISTED

THAT WE PUT A GARDEN

ON BOTH CAMPUSES.

WE HAVE A LARGE GARDEN HERE

ON THE BOYS' CAMPUS

AND WE HAVE EVEN A LARGER GARDEN

DOWN ON OUR GIRLS' CAMPUS.

PART OF IT IS SELFISH

BECAUSE I LOVE TOMATOES,

I LOVE BASIL, I LOVE PEPPERS.

AND THAT'S WHAT WE GROW

IN THE GARDEN.

WE KEEP IT SIMPLE.

[LAUGHTER]

BUT WHAT I ALSO LOVE ABOUT IT

IS WATCHING OUR CHILDREN

PARTICIPATE IN PLANTING

THE SEEDS AND WATCHING

HOW THINGS GROW.

AND IN THE FALL

OR THE LATE SUMMER, GOING OUT

-AND THE HARVEST IS PLENTY.

WE GET HUNDREDS

IF NOT THOUSANDS OF TOMATOES.

WE MAKE BUCKETS FULL

OF PESTO FROM THE BASIL.

AND THE PEPPERS ARE USED

FOR A VARIETY OF REASONS

IN OUR KITCHEN.

I ALSO LIKE TO GROW SUNFLOWERS,

SO ON BOTH CAMPUSES

WE HAVE SUNFLOWERS

THAT GROW 10, 12 FEET TALL.

I JUST GET A KICK OUT OF IT

-BUT I KNOW THAT IT'S GOOD

FOR THE KIDS TOO.

TO SEE THINGS TO INTO

THE GROUND, TO TAKE ROOT,

TO GROW-AND WE DON'T QUITE KNOW

HOW IT GROWS BUT IT HAPPENS.

AND THEN TO EAT THE FRUIT

OF THE HARVEST, VERY IMPORTANT.

AND A LOT OF OUR YOUNG PEOPLE

HERE AT THE HOME

ARE INVOLVED WITH OUR GARDENS.

IT TAKES PLANNING.

IT TAKES ORGANIZING.

IT TAKES MEASURING.

AND THAT HAS NOTHING TO DO

WITH WHAT JESUS IS TALKING ABOUT

IN THE GOSPEL TODAY.

IF SOMEONE WHO WAS A GARDENER,

OR FARMER LISTENED TO WHAT

JESUS WAS SAYING IN THE PARABLE

TODAY THEY WOULD THINK THAT HE

HAD LOST HIS MIND AS HE TALKS

ABOUT THE SOWER.

THE SOWER GOES OUT

TO SOW SEED.

SEED WAS TERRIBLY PRECIOUS

IN THE TIME OF JESUS,

AS IT IS TODAY.

BUT WHAT DOES THE SOWER DO?

A FARMER OR GARDENER WOULDN'T

UNDERSTAND WHAT JESUS

IS TALKING ABOUT.

THE SOWER GOES OUT

AND WITH RECKLESS ABANDON

TAKES THE SEED AND THROWS IT

INTO THE AIR

-NOT CARING WHERE IT LANDS.

IT LANDS ON HARD SOIL

ON THE PATH,

SOME GROWS UP BETWEEN

THE THICKETS AND THORNS

Increases - Tunisian crochet - Duration: 5:04.

The increases can be done at the end and /or at the beginning of the row,

or between the stitches.

We are going to make 1 after the first stitch and another one before the last stitch.

Instead of inserting the hook into the vertical yarn, we are going to insert it

into the stitch between the two vertical yarns.

This is the first increase.

Now we make the normal Tunisian stitch.

Now we are going to make another increase. We make it also inserting the hook

into the stitch between the two vertical yarns.

And the last stitch into the last vertical yarn.

We have made two increases.

Make a return pass.

So we have a complete row with 2 increases

Now we are going to make 3 increases at the beginning and 3 at the end of the row.

At the beginning of the row we have to make as many chain stitches as increases we need (3 in this case)

Insert the hook into the chain stitches and yarn through.

Now we have 3 loops before the first vertical yarn of the row

Make the normal Tunisian stitch from the first vertical yarn

Until the end of the pass in which we'll make another 3 increases.

We are finishing the forward pass and now we have to make 3 more stitches. We make them

as in the loop cast on when we knit.

Three loops… 2, 3.

Now we make a normal return pass.

One chain stitch and close by twos

until the end of the row.

So we have a complete row with three increases at the beginning and three at the end.

Escape From The Planet Of The Apes -- Movie Review #JPMN - Duration: 3:59.

Completely different, but really fun.

This Don Taylor sci-fi film earned more than $10 million more than its $2 million dollar

budget after its release in May of 1971.

The more socially-minded narrative follows a trio of talking apes who travel back in

time to 1970s Los Angeles and shock the world with their intelligence and desire for equal

rights.

Roddy McDowall and Kim Hunter reprise their roles as the warm-natured chimp couple who

find themselves experiencing a reversal of fortune of the original movie's plot.

The result is an easy-going and more satirical story than the darker and serious films that

came before.

McDowall and Hunter are both fantastic in the lead roles, balancing their scientific

curiosity with cautious hesitation remarkably well.

They may be monkeys, but they end up being the most human characters in the entire film.

Remarking on the deceitful nature of man, Hunter explains, "We've meet hundreds, I trust

three."

Okay, rant time.

Where the hell did the monkeys get a time traveling spacecraft?

In the first film - which takes place just a year prior - the apes didn't even understand

the concept of fight...

Heston threw a paper airplane across the room and it blew their minds.

But now they're piloting a rocketship?!

I get it, the writers (at Heston's behest - hey that rhymes!) painted themselves into

a corner with that whole, "blow up the entire planet" ending of the previous film... so

going back in time prior to its destruction was really the only place a sequel could have

gone.

And since time-travel was a major linchpin of the original movie - it's a reasonably

fair plot-device here.

But to suggest that some random, heretofore unseen monkey was intellectually or physically

capable of retrieving and restoring a spacecraft from the bottom of a lake given what we know

about their relatively simplistic culture is utterly preposterous.

Even more frustrating is that all of this takes place off-camera!

This opening-scene twist is the literal foundation of the entire five-picture series - but it's

a completely unearned moment that insults the intelligence of the audience.

Once you get past the monumentally frustrating twist however, the scene itself is actually

pretty bitching way to open a film; apes in spacesuits and some awesome music from Jerry

Goldsmith.

As for Sal Mineo, 'new guy' who's responsible for rebuilding the time ship?

He's killed off almost as soon as he's introduced, immediately reminding me of Marty McFly's

line at the beginning of "Back To The Future: Part II", "Then what the hell did you bring

him for?"

Elsewhere, Ricardo Montalban is featured in a small but pivotal role as a kind circus

owner who immediately befriends the talking chimps.

The 98 minute narrative delivers plenty of classic sci-fi what-if scenarios; from the

stranger-in-a-strange-land moments to first contact procedures.

The scene where talking apes testify in front of a presidential inquiry instantly makes

"Escape" more enjoyable than the first

lousy sequel.

It's also a scene that must have been particularly surreal for Academy Award winning Hunter to

play, being a former victim of Hollywood's "House Un-American Activities Committee" two

decades prior.

Later, the film pivots from playful wardrobe montages to a dramatic fugitive story with

knee-jerk speed.

The shift in mood is an abrupt one.

And why does the film take place on the west coast?

The first two movies are set in the distant future version of New York, so it would have

made sense to parallel that here, right?

Instead - in what can likely only be attributed to the filmmakers' laziness, "Escape" takes

place in present day directly outside 20th Century Fox Studios in Los Angeles.

Thanks to lasting imagery this is easily the second best feature in the five-picture series...

but it's also tonally inconsistent and built on an unforgivable plot hole.

Ultimately, "Escape From The Planet Of The Apes" is a genuinely amusing and thought-provoking

picture.

It's a GREAT film.

That does it for this quick excerpt - but if you'd like to watch more "Movie Night",

ICE Student Stories: Dreaming of Culinary School for 15 Years - Duration: 2:17.

So I'm thirty eight now and I've wanted to go to culinary school since I was twenty-three.

I really got into food when I was in college and I started watching a lot of old school

Food Network, this was like late nineties and it was Mario Batali and Emeril Lagasse

and it was very kind of teaching focused Food Network and it just sparked an interest in

me, so I thought I wanted to go to culinary school.

I had some people in my life that loved me, friends and family that thought maybe it wasn't

the right path for me and that's how I ended up in a career path that wasn't necessarily

the right thing for me and the past fifteen, sixteen years has been me trying to get to

this place where I am right now.

I just realized, I'm never going to be happy unless I follow this passion inside me which

is to work in food and I was going to make it happen one way or another.

I don't have the luxury of working my way up through a kitchen at this stage of my life,

so going to culinary school will certainly get me a certain amount of confidence when

I do walk into a kitchen for the first time.

If I walked into kitchen before I started, I would have no clue what I was doing.

I love the instructors, not only are they incredible instructors and have amazing real

world experience but they're just so approachable and so available and good humored.

The other thing I like about the program itself is that, it seems to be cumulative, so I feel

like every day, every lesson has been building upon the one beforehand.

So you're not learning something in mod one and then you never look at it again.

So it gives you certain amount of confidence, not over confidence for sure but at least

you have a sense of the landscape of the environment that you're walking into and that's an amazing

feeling to have when you're starting a new career, especially in the culinary world.

3 simple ways to overcome anxiety. - Duration: 9:30.

- All right, guys.

So I'm here with my very special guest today,

my very good friend here, Rayson Choo,

who is a medical professional.

- Not just any other medical professional.

- Okay, you know what?

Why not I shut up and why not

you introduce yourself to my viewers?

That way, it's more authentic.

- Sure, no problem, man.

Thanks, it's really my honor to be here.

My name is Rayson, and I am not just a medical professional,

I am also a motivational speaker

and also the owner of Raygacy,

R-A-Y-G-A-C-Y,

the up and coming motivational site

and also, at the same time,

this upcoming show called The Raygacy Show

that is all about interviewing entrepreneurs,

successful entrepreneurs, coaches, speakers,

celebrities, rising stars, sports personalities, etc.

So, this is the up and coming show that is going to be hot

on Facebook and also YouTube because

I'm using Facebook live features

to actually interview my special guests.

- And I'm going to be in the show as well, right?

- Yup, yup, soon, soon, very soon, very soon.

Yes, all right.

- Okay, anyways, let's jump right into today's topic.

So, Rayson, I've got a lot of questions

when it comes to nice guys.

Lots of my clients face this one thing

which I'm very sure you and I can relate to very well,

and that is anxiety.

- Ah-hah, anxiety.

- Anxiety, right, it sucks, I mean...

- Yeah, it does.

- Right, you can relate to it, you know that.

As a nice guy, you see someone out there.

You want to maybe go approach and say hi,

or let's say you meet somebody at a social event, right?

There's a lot of anxiety because you don't know

whether or not you're going to get rejected,

you don't know whether you're going to be made fun of.

- Yup.

- In fact, there was a situation where one of my clients

actually asked, how do I overcome the anxiety

of asking someone out?

So, you see, anxiety's the whole, you know.

- Yes, it is.

- It's a whole topic in itself.

- Yup, it is, it is.

- Therefore, I decided, you know what,

why not I speak to you about it

because I'm sure as a motivational speaker

and also as a medical professional

you deal a lot with anxiety.

So maybe if you can give the viewers today

a very simple, I don't know,

let's say maybe you can give them three steps.

Okay, can you think of three steps?

- Yeah, I can.

- Three simple steps for nice guys to overcome anxiety

because this will help them and me as well

because sometimes I face anxiety.

So, I mean I'm human, right, so...

- Everyone will face anxiety as well.

And you know what's anxiety all about?

- Take it away, man, go ahead.

- So basically, what I know about anxiety is this,

it is a negative emotion that is caused by

your negative belief, your false belief

about something that will never happen at all.

So, for example, you are going out on a date.

You plan the date very nicely,

going out to maybe Robertson Quay

to have a fine dinner together, for example,

or coffee at TCC.

Yeah, okay?

And then, one hour before

the whole meetup, the whole date,

you are like thinking to yourself,

oh, shit, will she like me,

will she want to have a chat with me,

will she even reject me when I'm going to ask her

for a second date?

And then you start thinking about all this

before you even meet her, right?

So this causes you to have this jittery,

this butterfly, this kind of a feeling in your stomach,

and it is unhealthy, it is bad for you.

So, what you're going to do is number one,

first step, take out that negative belief,

that negative thinking, that mindset, okay?

You have to improve your mindset or, even better,

change your mindset to this,

tell yourself that, you know what,

she's going to enjoy the time with me,

I'm going to enjoy her companionship

as much as she's going to enjoy the companionship with me

tonight in the date.

I've been there, done that before.

I have screwed up many dates before,

because I was anxious, okay.

But because my mind has changed, my mindset has changed,

so I literally became better at dating.

So I changed that mindset.

So, that is number one.

- First step, man.

- Think positively.

- Think positively, change your mindset.

- Okay, number two.

Before you go and meet the girl,

take a deep breath, okay, take a deep breath.

- How long do we go there.

- Okay, so for example, you just take a deep breath

for five seconds.

So breathe in.

(both inhale)

One, two, three, four, five.

Hold it there, one, two, three, four, five,

and then (both exhale)

blow it out.

Okay, do it three times

and then tell yourself, okay, I'm ready, go.

And as you approach your date, just smile at her

and just start off the conversation

as how you want it to be.

- So, am I right to say when you take deep breaths,

what you're doing is, I mean, I tried it,

so basically, you're getting your body

to be a bit more relaxed.

- Yes, relax yourself, calm yourself down.

- Okay, all right, cool.

So, step number two is take deep breaths.

- Yup, take deep breaths and relax, okay?

- So, final step.

- Final step, okay?

Final step is to actually

just enjoy it.

Enjoy the moment with her, okay?

Being natural, be authentic

as much as you can because

it's just like you want the girl

to be as authentic as she can be when she is with you.

You do not want a girl be asking herself,

oh, shit, did I say the wrong word?

Okay, all right,

did I sit properly with my legs closed?

Did I tell him that I like him?

Ah, no, no, no.

I'm sure you wouldn't want that to happen, right?

I bet you are watching it from Japan,

or even in Philippines, Australia,

New Zealand, or any other country,

in Korea, in South America, even South Africa.

You wouldn't get to see the girl be asking themselves,

oh, shit, oh, shit, did I say the wrong word?

Oh, oh, oh.

And you know, I mean it will blow the whole date

for both of you, and I believe those who are

happy in a relationship or who are happily in a marriage

wouldn't do that.

- Then they wouldn't,

because it's like you put so much pressure on yourself

to impress, which will lead to anxiety, right?

- Yup.

So, number one is think positively, improve on the mindset.

Number two will be take deep breaths and relax.

Number three, enjoy the moment.

- Enjoy the moment.

- Yeah, just be natural.

- And you know, it's really funny, actually,

because these three steps,

they all kind of work hand-in-hand with one another.

It's not three separate steps,

but you can put them all together.

You have a very good experience.

- Yes.

- Because when you change your mindset

and you take deep breaths,

what's happening is you're changing your mind,

you're changing your whole body,

you're becoming a lot more relaxed,

and when you're relaxed

and when you're thinking happy thoughts,

naturally, you're going to be happy when you see your date.

So you're not going to be worried,

you're not going to be wondering,

oh my God, does she think that I'm a geek,

does she think that I'm doing something stupid,

but, you know, like crossing my legs

or wearing a shirt that's too tight, stuff like that.

- Yeah, yeah, yeah.

- Cool, okay, I mean, there we go.

You see it straightforward from the professional himself.

I figured, this is the best way to get advice.

- Thanks.

- I mean, you always want to get advice

from people who know what they're talking about,

and I believe that that's really important

because when you are in doubt,

and you're looking for advice,

there might be lots and lots of advice.

But which one really works for you?

- Yeah. - And that's important.

I mean, from your profession,

you would also advise for people to seek professional help

if they need it, right?

- Definitely, definitely.

- Cool, sweet.

So, all right, that's all the time we have for you today.

I love my videos to be short and sharp now.

If you want to find out a little bit more

to my viewers?

- Well, I just want to say, is

as much as

we get anxious at times,

just relax and stay calm, cool and collected,

and enjoy the whole ride of your dating journey, all right?

So, (snaps fingers) see ya.
