Youtube daily report Sep 13 2017

Mr. Niedermayer, one minute please.

Thank you madam, and thank you Mister President for your speech.

It is good to remind us about how things have changed since last year

Just to remind all of us. The growth is up, unemployment down.

Employment up, stable financial sector, improved fiscal policy.

And this is just economy. You mentioned more.

You can say, these are just numbers. These are not just numbers.

This means that life for people in Europe is better.

This is what people expect, from us also.

As you know from your past. Good times is exactly the time when people are making a lot of mistakes.

And you urged us to not to make mistakes in these good times.

And instead to do many good things and I agree and I appreciate it.

One of the obstacles that I want to stress is still missing trust.

Trust among politicians, trust among people, trust among countries.

I hope that in the next speech you will remind us that this has improved.

This is very important.

And also at the end of your speech you mentioned that we should not be over cautions.

This is exactly the way how to make the mistakes and miss the opportunities.

I hope we will not miss them. Thank you very much.

let's play league of legends Road to gold episode 1.. And nasus stacks us all - Duration: 26:16.

Yo, what's up guys and welcome back to a new League of Legends video.

this time I am going to make a road to gold (pretty much) again.

Right now I am silver 1 with 60 lp.

and yeah, you can prepare for more then one game.

so I'll show you some good scenes.

oh wait a second, someone's there.

seems like we'll get first blood anyways.

Let's just go bot lane I gues.

But before I enter their lane I go invisible, the probably have warded there. Nevermind, our bot placed a control ward.

oh well.

well this should be a kill.

oh dammit.

easy, I got him anyways.

red buff for the win.

oh god..

that was my bad,

I underestimated his damage.

oh well.

ok, he's leaving.

well anyways we got the jungle item. and the next item should be duskblade.

I am still not convinced of ap (well I played some games but there are way more situation where you go ad eve or something else)

I acctually saw "the best evelyn player" who is also playing on ap

most of the players are playing her as ap with tank items (like rylais, hextech protobelt) but he is just playing full ap, cause he can!

and he destroys anyone with it. but ok if it works out for him it's ok.

I am still not convinced of it.

argh I gues I won't interfere there.

they can do it.

I gues it's time to go in now. Twitch has still activated his ult.

Would be perfect if they can destroy that turret.

ok perfect, now I can go in.

oh well.

but ok he's legendary.

he will carry me now.

it's a good thing I still got my smite.

oh they alreay.. Wait! they already surrendered?

oh well so this was the first game.

alright ok so the 2nd game is about to start.

I got my eve again. we got akali top lane and leona support, lucian ad carry and brand mid.

You can't see it quite yet, but you will soon. I told that smokez (so our brand) he should pick something with aoe damage.

since we got leona and me as our front lane it would be perfect to pick aoe damage (preferbly vel koz)

since the enemys got warwick (fuck this champ) and blitzcrank as tanks.

mh I don't know their top laner right now. anyways they will probably try to focus lucian

and since we don't have lulu or a disengage it would be perfect if we got someone with aoe damage.

so we can pick out their carries really quick.

ok perfect we got him.

Akali now holds double buffs, I like it.

Maybe I can get that nasus too...

I acctually don't wanna risk it and do some bronze move..

ok that seems pretty free.

argh I'm totally out of mana..

If I had more mana I could have atleast put her to halflife. Gues I wouldn't be able to kill her, but 1 for 1 trade is ok I gues.

oh there comes warwick.

oh god..

they always flash -_-

oh god.. and she obviously got right enough mana for that one.

oh god that guy comes out of nowhere..

tss.. she just dodged the diana q..

oh well he's dead.

what?

the ultimate fail..

and I ran into the q..

alright she won't go push any further with that less hp.

run diana.. I mean akali.

gues I can handle him

OR MAYBE NOT.

Alright, game number 3 just started. I've picked lee sin now. I didn't know into what jungler I would pick in (they picked xin xhao).

But I saw viktor and I saw thresh and we needed a tank, so I picked lee.

But the enemies have nasus again and I didn't wanna get stacked again.

or maybe not.

ok.

ok.

I mean if she doesn't watch..

oh well that won't work out.

what just dealt 739 damage to me?

what? (they changed directions)

ahhhh I love this (ping)

we haven't settled it like that buddy!

that won't work like that buddy!

and NOW he (twitch) is using his ult..

well I gues it's ok like that.

ok peace out guys.

argh that's difficult.. they need.. oh twitch just joined.

Not sure if they can handle it but they should better wait for me.

well the enemies are pretty low right now and twitch got ultimate.

does he have ruunan's? no twitch went for statikk shiev instead.

just like every twitch main would do..

oh well

nope twitch died. that won't be worth it if we go in now.

oh wait.. he's tping.

OH MY GOD this fuckin minion..

why did I even buy the crafting potion? I don't even have mana..

well whatever.

oh and it's still not the crafting potion, it's the hunter's potion.

oh, janna goes this way?

well I didn't see if blue is up but it'll definitively be mine

nope it's not up.

no that's stupid.

or is it?

ah fuck this..

alright after the last game I found out I shouldn't play jungle.

cause either mid or top will lose.

well botlane won't fuck up I gues. They will probably just flame.

NO! YES! OHHHHH!

but yeah..

so I'll play mid lane now.. my secondary? role. No I can really call it secondary.

well most of the time I either play mid lane or jungle.

or the other way around.

anyways we are facing akali now. And I'd say let's win this!

we can do it now!

ok just leave the lane.

and I buffed my fuckin e... obviously.

die!

YES!

nooooo

where's akali? damn she's gone.

well as long she haven't reached level 6 everything should be fine.

or maybe not.

and she just reached level 6.

yesss

ah get the fuck outa here.

yesss!

yup no ulti for you this time. now my e acctually hits you.

luckily he didn't die there.

ahhh.

wait she doesn't have ult up. why is she staying?

ah i'm loving it.

nasus stacked again...

no they don't even deserve that surrender..

like seriously..

0 9 xayah...

that's gold elo..

right before gold elo.. 0 9 xayah..

and that's not even in the promos.

ah you wanna screw with me?

All Star but it's played on random household items - Duration: 3:07.

Somebody once told me the world is gonna roll me

I ain't the sharpest tool in the shed She was looking kind of dumb with her finger and her thumb

In the shape of an "L" on her forehead

Well the years start coming and they don't stop coming

Fed to the rules and I hit the ground running Didn't make sense not to live for fun

Your brain gets smart but your head gets dumb So much to do so much to see

So what's wrong with taking the back streets You'll never know if you don't go

You'll never shine if you don't glow

Hey now you're an All Star get your game on, go play

Hey now you're a Rock Star get the show on get paid

And all that glitters is gold Only shooting stars break the mold

It's a cool place and they say it gets colder You're bundled up now but wait 'til you get older

But the meteor men beg to differ

Judging by the hole in the satellite picture The ice we skate is getting pretty thin

The water's getting warm so you might as well swim

My world's on fire how about yours That's the way I like it and I never get bored

Hey now you're an All Star get your game on, go play

Hey now you're a Rock Star get the show on get paid

And all that glitters is gold Only shooting stars break the mold

Hey now you're an All Star get your game on, go play

Hey now you're a Rock Star get the show on get paid

And all that glitters is gold Only shooting stars break the mold

Somebody once asked could I spare some change for gas

I need to get myself away from this place I said yep what a concept

I could use a little fuel myself And we could all use a little change

Well, the years start coming and they don't stop coming

Fed to the rules and I hit the ground running Didn't make sense not to live for fun

Your brain gets smart but your head gets dumb So much to do, so much to see

So what's wrong with taking the back streets You'll never know if you don't go

- What I like about the different types of programs

is just the multitude.

You have your social programs,

you have your learning programs.

They're there for you, right?

Whatever it is you need, Our Kids Count

can help you with it.

I'm absolutely ecstatic that I can be part of this family.

Who I am now is not who I was two years ago.

That is purely because of them.

I've come a long way.

I've self evolved because of the skills

they've been able to give me.

Just the self confidence alone is just so much.

I know they can do that for anybody.

I just want people to come in and check us out.

What's on the Horizons Cassette? [Review] | Nostalgia Nerd - Duration: 7:50.

The Horizons Software Starter Pack.

I've had this cassette knocking around for years.

Being the tape bundled with new ZX Spectrums from their launch in 1982, it's evidently

the first tape I, and many other Spectrum owners got their hands on.

But, here's the thing, I've never even attempted to load it up, and I bet many other Speccy

owners are exactly the same.

Our first Spectrum, was the 48k model.

One of the minor revisions with the blue rubber keys rather than the grey of the initial run,

but with that machine we also received a selection of games, such as Trans-am and Jetpac, so

this tape, I guess just got pushed further and further down the pile and remained redundant.

If I ever pick up a 2nd hand bundle, this tape, just like Ian Botham's cricket, is usually

somewhere in the midst, and I guess if anyone bought a second hand Speccy in the 80s or

90s, they probably had this tape as well, but likely with a bundle of other games, and

so again, just didn't bother firing it up.

So, I'm going to change that right now and find out just what is on the Horizons Software

Starter Pack.

Psion - the same Psion who would later create the Psion Organiser - was one of the first

developers to create software for the Speccy under distribution of Sinclair Research, having

created titles such as Flight Simulation for the ZX81 and Hungry Horace, also in 1982,

for the Spectrum.

Being the starter tape, the insert gives us detailed setup and loading instructions before

providing an introductory blurb;

"Horizons is a large introductory software cassette which contains many programs.

It has been designed to introduce you to the Spectrum, to describe some of the hardware

and systems features of the Spectrum, etc.

Side A includes a simple interactive description of the Spectrum and side B contains a range

of interactive programs, and as we can see we have 6 programs on side A and 8 on B.

So Side A, and first up we have the Introduction and hardware description.

This program simply guides us through the various parts which form your Spectrum setup,

but clearly with a technical slant.

Giving a brief rundown of components such as the CPU and ULA before hitting us with

a delightful loudspeaker example.

We're then thrust straight into keyboard training.

Starting with the basics.

Touching keys, before ramping up to understanding the single key-press command entry of the

Speccy and working out just how to activate the multiple functions assigned to each key.

This is pretty essential stuff if you haven't used a Spectrum before and we end with a keyword

dictionary.

Just in case you somehow find it easier to load and run this program every time you want

to know what a command means, rather than flicking through the manual.

Still, I'm sure a younger me would have been captivated by this for a good while.

However, Side B is where the fun really starts.

Initially we're presented with a menu, allowing us to skip to one of the 8 programs on this

side.

But of course, I'm starting with THRO' THE WALL.

Titled with a rather gritty patois, perhaps heard from the streets of New York.

As the blurb says, The classic game using bat and ball, try and knock the coloured bricks

out of the wall to gain maximum points.

This is a very simple game written exclusively in BASIC, but for a breakout clone, it's actually

very playable and is a good way to begin this side of the cassette.

The next program, Bubblesort, feels rather abstract, and it's here where it becomes clear

that this was a tape assembled by engineers, trying to show you, just what the strengths

of a computer are.

It's very Sinclair, very lab coat-ish.

We're shown how the Spectrum can sort a randomly ordered array of objects, in this instance,

a bridge hand of 13 playing cards.

The program simply considers pairs of cards at a time to gradually order by number and

suit.

It's not the most riveting watch.

But at least you get an idea of the binary logic at the heart of the computer.

We're then thrust into the evolution of Foxes and Rabbits, and it seems thrusting is exactly

what these rabbits are up to.

This program is designed to demonstrate the differential equation capability of the Spectrum,

and it does this by asking for the number of foxes and rabbits you would like in your

eco-system, before plotting out graphics depicting how quickly they breed vs. how quickly they're

eaten by foxes.

At the end, we get a nice graph and a horrifying realisation of the death involved in what

we've just witnessed.

Thankfully then the next program is about LIFE.

It is LIFE.

A machine code iteration of the game of life... no, not that one.

This is actually a pretty good implementation of John Conway's cellular automation, and

coupled with the ability to change colours and lay out your cells, this could have kept

me occupied for weeks in the 80s.

But I was too busy playing Dynamite Dan, so probably not.

Program 5 is draw, and it allows you to plot and draw things.

Program 6 is given the suitably glamorous name of Monte Carlo and demonstrates stochastic

events.

Showing us a bar chart of dice rolls and their outcome, which it compares to the predicted

outcome.

Something you could leave running overnight and then look at with glee in the morning

before school, before realising that there had in fact been a power cut in the night,

and not only was your program gone, but your alarm clock failed and you were now late for

school.

Ahhhh, the 1980s.

In at 7 is a character generator which allows you to create character graphics for your

programming needs.

Lovely jubbly.

And last, but by no means least, is WAVES.

Described at demonstrating the phenomena of "beating" in music and elsewhere.

I think they probably ran out of space in the inlay to describe this properly, but it

allows you to create two waves, which it then combines and sometimes you get a pretty pattern,

like this.

Kinda neat.

And that's it.

That is the Horizons cassette.

It's an interesting bag, which I think is summed up best by a reviewer by the tag of

dandyboy on World of Spectrum.

Horizons was the first tape I ever run into a Spectrum ZX so my memories about it are

magical . I was 7 then and my grandpa presented me this tape as a gift . I had never seen

anything resembling a computer before so I was mesmerized .

It was love at first sight when I first stared at those flashing colors and heard those 8-bit

beeping sounds .

The loading screen with the sun under the rainbow is quite memorable and an invitation

to dream .

Horizons was a strange tape though . Many of the programs included were weird applications

. I never got used to them .

I loved The Wall game though . I prefer it to Arkanoid , actually . : )

I give it a 4 for the memories .

Ps - Being a Psion production is a plus . I´m in love with Psion in a computational way

.

Couldn't have put it better myself Dandy.

Thanks for watching.

Have a great evening! :D

13 Most Googled British Celebrities - Duration: 6:47.

13 Most Googled British Celebrities

Emma Watson.

It's often said that Emma Watson "reinvented" herself from the Hogwarts sweetheart to the Hollywood starlet she is today.

Well, we mostly agree, and it's not a surprise why Emma is one of the most searched celebrities, since she's simply perfect.

Benedict Cumberbatch.

Benedict basically invaded Hollywood last year with his role as Sherlock Holmes.

Interestingly, he's called the cheekiest actor in Hollywood today because of his "cheekbones so sharp that they could chisel marble," as he was described during several occasions.

Kelly Brook.

Kelly's one of the world's most popular glamour models, and is among the most searched celebrities.

We're pretty sure from whom the vast majority of the searches are coming.

Henry Cavill.

A couple of years ago, Henry couldn't come even close to this list, but thanks to his role of Superman in Man of Steel last year, he became one of the most searched actors out there.

His definite triumph is probably scheduled after the premiere of Batman vs.

Superman. One Direction.

One Direction have achieved massive success with Midnight Memories and it seems these guys have a bright future ahead of them.

Being Britain's biggest celebrities, they are sure to be Google's top searches.

Chiwetel Ejiofor.

Because of his role in 12 Year Slave, he made his name in a relatively short period of time.

His performance of Solomon Northup was simply remarkable.

Tom Hiddleston.

Here comes Hollywood's favourite villain in the last couple of years.

Since Ledger's performance of Joker, there weren't many villains who became so widely admired until Tom's Loki came on the scene.

He's charming and talented, and we simply can't resist him.

Kate Middleton.

On one occasion, Ricky Gervais said that comparing the Golden Globes and the Oscars is the same as comparing Kim Kardashian and Kate Middleton.

Kate's simply elegant, sophisticated and one of the most pleasant celebrities out there.

Adele.

Adele's popularity significantly dropped last year, comparing to years before, but she's still among the most Googled ones.

Her biggest hit from last year was Skyfall, which was used in latest James Bond instalment with Daniel Craig.

Emilia Clarke.

It seems Khaleesi from the Game of Thrones series is making her way up the celebrity stardom ladder.

Her role in the HBO hit series surely opened up many doors, and we sincerely hope she'll stay in the series for a long time.

No, we haven't read the books.

Patrick Stewart.

Patrick's probably on lists like this one for the last 10 years.

And he deserves to be, since he's one of the greatest Hollywood actors.

At the moment he's working on the new X-Men: Days of Future Past.

Kate Moss.

Kate's one of the world most famous models since the early 90s when she made her name with a slim figure, controversial lifestyle and drug use.

Impressively, she managed to maintain her popularity even 20 years later.

Piers Morgan.

This journalist, television host and former talent competition judge is the last on this list but one of the most respected celebrities in Britain.

His Piers Morgan Tonight Show is still one of the most watched shows on television.

forward to this transformation me too all right let's do it this is the spot

right here you ready I'm ready I'm so ready I'm sorry you're born ready I use

primer cuz you always have to start with a smooth skin and a smooth base and

apparently there's nothing left in here but I'm gonna squeeze it out yeah this

is just from maybelline baby skin this is the easiest part honestly so

hopefully don't miss this part just to make your cheekbones stand out a little

more since she has lots of cheekbones and then I put some of my nose just to me

thing and I go all the way on the bridge of my nose so that it creates an error

nose cuz again we're trying to look like her not just me right and then going

along with cheekbones you want to make sure that everything stands out so like

the lightness and the darkness and since I'm putting concealer here for the

lightness I'm gonna put runs or here later and so I want to basically put

concealer under that so that it shows it

just kind of has natural eyebrows so I'm gonna make it look a little crazier not

crazier but makeup he I don't know this kind of dark brown shade on an angled

brush and I start at the arch and then I just kind of fill in that portion and

then it kind of blends the darker color with the lighter color but also makes it

look natural and then again I kind of let it set as I do my brows and I go

under the arch and this just makes your eyebrows stand out not in a bad way and

just all the eye shadow just everything kind of stands out so now I have really

the base you know add the lips eyebrows the face now I just need to look like

her i miss you

and I actually put this all over the lid instead of what I normally do with make

my eyes look bigger I like it more smokey for her so then you can add more

to the crease if you want a little more intensity he's purple eyeliner so and I

start on the outside and then I just sweep it in

that looks amazing and I always say it's in the eyes, even with the princesses

look at that in five seconds Wonder Woman is gonna come through the

door not yet, five four three two one, put that on, all ready

best don't listen to those other people so this is where that most of the

portion would be and then when I flip it back up I feel like it should be more

serious oh you so hot since I normally don't have help I do this all by myself

I turn in and around tightening it I want and this course that's really weird

I'm an independent voice for Carson City - Duration: 10:39.

First question- you are known as a Maverick, how is this good for you

running for the head of our state?

I know I'm asking for the keys to the state and

I think one of the reasons, as you suggest, is that I am an independent

voice in Carson City and that has gone pretty much through to the ESA's to

questioning the Faraday Future to questioning the stadium

and I think that

in terms of being an independent voice and independent a set of eyes that is

what this state needs. we've had far for far too long pay-to-play,

we've had politicians who who come through Carson City and their

sole principal, their sole ambition is to finance their next campaign.

I will come

to represent and benefit the people of Nevada.

Is that what you are alleging with Adam Laxalt?

No, I think Adam's a good guy

I have other issues with Adam, but I think Adam is an honest guy.

He needs some more experience,

I think he needs to sever some of his ties with with the donors,

but more importantly, Adam's a lawyer. I'm a businessman.

I think the state needs a businessman.

You bring it up- school choice. It is a

hot-button issue. Some say it will take funding away from the impoverished,

others say provides parents an option. Why are you so passionate about it?

I'm passionate about it because if you look at the statistics we are 51 out of

50, 49 out of 50, 47 out of 50 in all the recent polls and this country's

education systems and I don't say it's a silver bullet, it's a very, very important

first step and I think the the people who are in the best position to

judge a child's education are their parents, and they should be given that choice.

You've been setting yourself up for a run for governor for three years let's say,

how have you been preparing?

Well, I think that's a bit of an exaggeration

but no, I think people have asked me "when did you really make the decision to run?"

and it was truthfully during the the special session

when they approved 750 million dollars for the football stadium and

they zilched out the ESA- Education Savings Account- and I saw the lobbyists

lined up from here to kingdom come and I said this needs to change.

I think we've done a great job in the state treasurer's office.

we've doubled and tripled returns on the state's portfolio,

the LG IP which really finances a lot of

local government, you know pays the water bills, goes to building schools,

is up over ten times.

Unclaimed property, which is your property, the people's property,

we've cut the processing period from 120 to 20 days, and we

have saved taxpayers $80 million dollars through bond refunding.

So, what I say as I said, I came here to do a job. I've done that job, and I say the

the moment of realization really came during that ESA hearing.

You did just talk about it, but how will your job as Treasurer help you as Governor?

Well, I think it's huge. You know again, my background, I have 40 years of financial

experience. I have entrepreneurial, managerial experience and

ultimately, I think as they say, I'm a lawyer, but along with that is the

business experience and I think we just need to put an end to lawyers making

business and economic decisions in this state. and I think I'm not going to

criticize the the current administration, but we give away tax abatements, we give

away bond refundings, the best example is the Faraday future implosion in North Las

Vegas, and I think it's high time that we had someone in the Capital, in the

Governor's office who has run businesses, understands how businesses are run, and

can make those decisions.

You've spoken out against providing incentives for

businesses like Tesla and Faraday Future, we saw Faraday Future collapse in Vegas

a couple months ago, but up here it seems Tesla's thriving. Do you stand by your

comments against trying to win the Tesla gigafactory and how will that hurt your

campaign here in Northern Nevada?

Well, I'm not gonna stand against that I mean

I think Faraday Futures you say was was a disaster from the beginning,

you know, that's how it turned out. I think Tesla's clearly been a success,

I think the success is due more to Panasonic than it is necessarily to Elon Musk,

but my underlying claim, my underlying belief, is that Nevada is a great place

to do business.

We have no state personal income tax, we have no state corporate income tax

our cost of living here is about a third of what it is in

California, and there's no reason that we should be giving away tax abatements

like Santa Claus. And again, I'm all for encouraging businesses to come here we

need to build the infrastructure, we need to have the the government agencies here

allow businesses to operate without excessive regulation and that should

really we can't continue to keep giving away our tax money. And I think again, one

of the reasons governor Sandoval has to continue to raise taxes is that he's

giving it all away.

So, I think Tesla has been a success

and we've brought other businesses here but there's got to be an end to

just endless tax abatements and bond underwriting.

A follow-up question to the growth that we're seeing from Tesla- One of the

issues that we're having up here in Northern Nevada is a lack of housing.

How will you as governor address the need for affordable housing, and basically a

new housing crisis that we have here?

Well, I think you're right I think you do have a housing crisis here.

I sit on the Board of Finance, which approves a

lot of the subsidized housing, and I have said to the the individual- she happens

to be a very smart young lady, can we give you more resources, can we can we

help you in any way? can we- the state-do that? and she said, you know we've pretty

much maxed out. I mean, I think there are issues we won't get in today with

immigration. One of the reasons a lot of the developers are behind there, when I

spoke to them, they were six months behind is they can't get enough

qualified electricians, qualified plumbers, qualified contractors to do the

to do the job. So, I think there's a lot of issues they don't necessarily they

don't have to do with what what the state can do but just in really bringing

in the people to get the job done.

Ok, Washoe County went blue in the last

election, we really are the swing County. So, what do you have to do to win over

the Independents whose swing Democrat?

Yeah, I mean I think again, Washoe County

is very important it's very important to me I think I need to give them a plan

and that plan is is to diversify the economy to continue to bring in small

businesses, tech-savvy businesses. I think we need to, instead of going on

trade missions to Australia or India, we need to go to places like California and

say, "Come to Nevada- it's a great place to do business. Our tax structure is a

fraction of what yours is, cost of living is a third of what you're used to paying,

and by the way, we have a very user-friendly government here that is going to accelerate the permitting process"

So, I think again there's a lot of reasons

to come here, and we just need to tell people about it.

On that note, we don't know yet because he hasn't officially thrown his hat into

the ring, but the assumption is Adam Laxalt is also running for Governor.

He's got a lot of D.C. money. As soon as you made your announcement, a D.C. PAC was

formed to start campaigning against you. Is this a sign Adam Laxalt is the

establishment Republican, and are you a non-establishment Republican?

Absolutely,

I mean I as I said, I like Adam, I think he lacks the experience, I think he

really pays too much attention to the donors, but you're absolutely right he is

the establishment candidate. He's financed by the establishment, and you

know I could be a little bit optimistic here, but I think he he and his team are

terrified. You know, we announced yesterday and as

you pointed out, ten minutes later there's a PAC that's running negative

ads against us.You know, Adam, tell me what what are you gonna do for the state?

We haven't heard anything about what he's gonna do, what his program is,

I mean, we know he's a conservative. I'm a conservative. But yeah, I think it to

me is a real sign of someone who's running

scared. And there's some polling that's out there- I think he ran a poll that

said he was sixty points ahead- that's nonsense.

We did a poll where we what's called an informed ballot poll, Dan Schwartz had

30%, Adam Laxalt had 34%, undecided was 36%. There's a real race

out there, and and I think the people certainly in the Republican Party in the

state deserve to have that choice.

And how many years have you lived in the state of Nevada?

I was originally here in 2000- 2001, I had a house in Genoa which

you and RINO know where it is. They're not necessarily sure in Las Vegas.

9/11 came, I had a business in Hong Kong, I really couldn't do it from here so I

moved to the Bay Area, but we were bought out, I wrote a book and then

moved back here. I think if you look at Adam's record he's been here half

that time, so you want to look at a true Nevadan, and I'm not saying that I'm gonna

replace those who've been here for 40 years, but I've been here far longer than

Mr. Laxalt.

So anything else that I did not ask you about that you think the voters here in Washoe County need to know?

Yeah, I think you've been very thorough, but

ultimately, this is a choice between an individual, myself, a businessman who's

run businesses, has managerial experience, understands the law, has a moral

compass, is not in the pocket of the state's richest donors, versus someone

who is as a nice enough guy but just lacks the experience, is to beholdin to

the money in this state. and you know obviously the choice is pretty clear to

me, but that's what I have to convince the voters of.

Thank you very much.

Thank you

Being the starter tape, the insert gives us detailed setup and loading instructions before

providing an introductory blurb;

Contribute if you like.

Subscribe, yada, yada.

Have a great evening! :D

But I can only show you the door.

You're the one who has to walk through it.

— Morpheus, The Matrix

I have it all, but I feel a void…

I think I fell asleep at the wheel of my life.

I'm my very own "Walking Dead."

It's odd too because I'm successful by most measures.

Married my college sweetheart 20+ years ago.

Two incredible kids.

Great job.

Awesome salary.

Incredible opportunities everywhere I turn.

Yet…

I can't shake that feeling of something being wrong.

I feel alone.

The dream-life I wished for, now that I have it, feels like a nightmare.

I've tried all the tricks: I lost 20 lbs, got more sleep, ran a 5k.

Didn't help.

I tried to exercise more, eat better, read books about happiness.

Didn't work.

Changed jobs.

Changed jobs again.

Changed industries, a decade working in non-profit.

Changed jobs again.

More money sure, but still, felt like a failure and a mess.

As my life-dissatisfaction soared, my marriage started getting rocky.

We ended up in therapy.

Yeah, I can afford therapy.

It sort of helped.

But it didn't stick.

I wasn't honest with my therapist, or my wife or myself.

I numbed myself by being distant and aloof.

I felt like a liar.

I felt like I was saying things that they wanted to hear.

I didn't want to be analysed and scrutinized and judged.

Who's perfect anyway?

I told myself maybe this was just a phase, a mid-life crisis.

It wasn't.

I started getting angry with myself, hating myself.

I couldn't even look myself in the eyes in the mirror.

I was lost.

I am lost.

I am losing.

I'd have dinner with my family around me yet feel isolated.

Stuck in my head, alone with my thoughts about this and that.

I watched too much TV and worked too much.

My job had me traveling every week to some shitty city doing some shitty work for some shitty client.

All of them are interchangeable.

Dallas, Atlanta, Charlotte, Phoenix.

Whatever.

Wherever.

Whenever.

When I wasn't working, I'd call home for 2 minutes to say hi, then go out and work some more, or get drunk,

or watch some stupid movie, or just go to sleep.

Day in and day out.

If Groundhog Day was a horror, not a comedy, that's my life.

I knew I was in a funk, but I felt powerless to do anything about it.

I knew I needed to do something, anything.

This couldn't continue.

One night at dinner, alone, I made the decision to start learning new things while traveling.

Feeding my brain, being productive, positive thoughts.

Great idea right?

I tried to learn 3D modelling.

Got bored.

I tried to write a novel, hated what I was writing.

Tried blogging and thought, what a douchebag.

Shut up already.

I am lost.

I didn't give up.

I kept looking for an ah-ha moment.

I'd look for signs in movies, books, TV shows.

I imagined that the answers were "out there" waiting for me to find them.

I'd make a big deal out of coincidences in my head and give them meaning.

I tried to find patterns in the noise of life.

I tried to find signals of what to do, or how to act, or how to talk, or how to think, or what job to take.

Maybe I could find a gift to give my wife that'd make everything perfect again?

Self-Help Didn't Help

I tried Tony Robbins.

I bought books and audio programs and actually did the work.

I have pages and pages of notes, memories, ideas.

I had goals that in hindsight, read like someone who wasn't being honest with himself about his life:

2005 – "Improve overall family relationships."

2007 – "Break 100 in golf."

2009 – "Enroll in business course."

2010 – "Disconnect while on vacation."

Looking back, these notes feel delusional to me now.

I was lying to myself but couldn't admit it.

What they should have said was "wake up," and "be honest."

It gets worse.

In 2011, I wrote as part of my "Ultimate Vision" "I am someone who brings passion and spirit to whatever I am doing."

Yeah.

Not so much.

No amount of breathing exercises, gratitude prayers or Tony Robbins motivational talks would ever solve my problem.

At least I was honest with myself about that.

After finishing Time of Your Life a few months ago, I felt a little better, but honestly, nothing much changed.

I was still a zombie in a meat suit walking and talking as if I were living my life.

Inside, however, I was dead.

I felt alone.

I didn't want to share my true feelings with anyone because I was afraid and ashamed.

I was ashamed because everyone around me was telling me how great I was,

how they wanted advice or wanted me to share my knowledge at work.

I felt like such a fake: a cardboard cutout figurine, a marionette with a mysterious puppeteer.

First World Problems, I know.

What right did I have to complain?

On paper, I have it all.

I have a great job, and I make enough money.

I am healthy, and my family loves me.

But life isn't made of paper.

I was terrified to admit any of this to anyone, least of all to myself.

I started to journal because Buzzfeed or Lifehacker said it would help.

When you aren't honest with yourself, it's hard to find relief.

There was no ah-ha moment.

I desperately wished there was.

It would have made life so much easier.

Ah ha!

Color your hair, quit your job and sell your car and voila — you'll be happy!

But no, that didn't happen.

Still sort of wish it would.

What did happen, and what is still happening to me as I type this is that I have started to realize something.

Something so simple and so shocking that I can't believe I couldn't see it until recently.

I feel a tiny bit like Neo in the Matrix.

When Morpheus says, "He's starting to believe," that's me, sort of.

No awesome glasses but still.

You get the point.

One day, after talking with my coach who, I recently hired, I had a bit of an epiphany.

We were talking about life and choices, and something hit me.

I still can't believe how simple and clear the message was, it didn't contain all the answers,

but it provided me with an insight, an ah-ha moment of a peculiar kind if you will.

I was not accountable to myself.

Yeah, that's it.

I had spent my entire life trying to make other people happy.

I'm one of those people who can't say no.

I say yes to everything and anything people ask for — and, of course,

I end up failing half the time and feeling horrible about it.

I work hard to provide for my family.

I bust my ass off at work to deliver great results.

I try my best to make everyone around me feel great and yet – I was miserable.

I was losing out.

As it turns out, so was my wife, my kids and everyone around me.

I hadn't noticed, but it was true.

I thought I was hiding my misery but, in fact, I was infecting others around me with it.

As I thought about my big insight – I wondered what it meant to be accountable to myself.

My coach encouraged me just to shut my mouth and listen to myself, but I didn't know how.

I had no idea how just to be quiet and receive my body's messages.

Waking Up

I started reading a book by a guy named Sam Harris called "Waking Up" and more lights came on.

Harris wrote:

"There is now little question that how one uses one's attention, moment to moment,

largely determines what kind of person one becomes.

Our minds—and lives—are largely shaped by how we use them."

That quote became a signpost, a clue.

Now I had to follow it's directions.

With this new awareness I started to see things and hear things I would otherwise have missed.

I was listening to a Tim Ferris podcast and sure enough, in the episode with Maria Popova from Brain Pickings,

she mentioned that she listens to guided meditations from Tara Brach.

I downloaded a bunch and tried my best to quiet my mind.

I learned to start with simple things, like just sitting still and focusing on my breath.

It felt weird, but I kept at it and a tiny little voice inside my head started saying stuff.

Whispers.

I started meditating early in the morning.

On the couch before anyone woke up.

My wife walked in on me, and I felt I like had gotten caught masturbating, or doing something bad.

I told her I was trying something new, and we joked that maybe I was becoming a Buddhist but, really,

I was just sitting there quietly trying to shut up and listen.

I found a book called "The Artist's Way" by Julia Cameron.

It's a 12-week course in rediscovering your creativity.

As of this writing, I'm in week 7.

During week 4 I was instructed to go on a media and reading diet.

No reading, no newspapers, no TV, no movies, no social media.

I fought it, but I did it and the whispers got a little louder.

I had an incredible week of writing, thinking and didn't miss a thing on TV or online.

Cameron writes:

"The reward for attention is always healing.

It may begin as the healing of a particular pain—the lost lover, the sickly child, the shattered dream.

But what is healed, finally, is the pain that underlies all pain: the pain that we are all, as Rilke phrases it,

"unutterably alone." More than anything else, attention is an act of connection."

I read that passage 3 or 4 times.

I just sat there and stared at the words, trying to unscramble them.

I wanted to believe her, needed it to be true that attention would lead to healing.

I put my trust in a 15 year old book that I bought but had never bothered to read.

I don't know what will happen next on this journey, but I feel like I found a doorway to something better.

I see a light in the distance.

I can hear the whispers telling me to keep going.

To push hard against my need to please others and focus on myself, on what I need.

I wish I had a 5-point plan to post here, but I've been through enough to know that all the lists and shit you find on

the web won't help.

There is no color by numbers solution to waking up.

No simple, singular answer.

No magic pill.

Taking a walk, or buying myself a Neo action figure or going away on vacation isn't going to help.

I think waking up requires something a lot simpler.

The Matrix calls to us, tempting us with drugs, booze, toys, distractions — it calls me to take the blue pill.

But no, I'm taking the red pill, and I'm going to Wonderland, I've had enough.

I hate feeling like a zombie.

It sucks.

I think waking up requires one main ingredient that I don't see anyone talking about… personal accountability.

True, no bullshit, no-fucking-around accountability to yourself.

No one is going to save you; no one is going to hold your hand through this fire.

You alone must do that.

I am taking steps.

I am holding myself accountable in new ways at work.

Investing my time in learning new skills.

Meditating on a regular basis.

I committed to waking up at 5:30 am every day and writing for 20 minutes before I even get coffee.

What I write doesn't matter, "The Artist's Way" assigned me morning pages, and I refuse to miss even a single day.

So what's next?

I kind of like the meditation, so I'm going to keep doing that to see where it leads.

I committed to cooking dinner for my family every Sunday night – a new dish, no repeats followed by table talk,

conversation and being with each other.

I am being mindful and not allowing myself to get sucked into endless sessions of Facebook or Reddit.

Instead, I'm writing that novel and thinking about what I can do every day to keep waking myself up.

I am learning to love myself, and I'm committed to finishing "The Artist's Way" and to breaking my old patterns.

It's hard, but I can't afford to stop searching.

I am spending my time creating, not consuming.

Output not input.

I know something is happening.

I can't explain it yet, but I can feel it.

I am just now realising that I've always felt it but have been too scared to look it in the eye.

To face the music.

This short scene between Morpheus and Neo sums up my current headspace well…

Morpheus: I imagine that right now, you're feeling a bit like Alice.

Hmm?

Tumbling down the rabbit hole?

Neo: You could say that.

Morpheus: I see it in your eyes.

You have the look of a man who accepts what he sees because he is expecting to wake up.

Ironically, that's not far from the truth.

Do you believe in fate, Neo?

Neo: No.

Morpheus: Why not?

Neo: Because I don't like the idea that I'm not in control of my life.

Morpheus: I know exactly what you mean.

Let me tell you why you're here.

You're here because you know something.

What you know you can't explain, but you feel it.

You've felt it your entire life, that there's something wrong with the world.

You don't know what it is, but it's there, like a splinter in your mind, driving you mad.

It is this feeling that has brought you to me.

Do you know what I'm talking about?

Do you know what I'm talking about?

24 HOURS WITH ROLLER SKATES CHALLENGE // VLOG 155 - Duration: 18:59.

olá YouTube my name is Ricardo lino and I'm wheel addict

I'm trying to make this challenge called 24-hour challenge on skates so

I'm going to show you what happened over the last 24 hours

until we get here

okay so 24 hours challenge starts now

afterward

so the real challenge starts now because you see that box that little box that

box I need to put that box there these are still my feet and I got that

chair so let's see if I can make this one work by the way if you want to know

what that is these is my ghetto microphone stand

when you see my videos filmed in this little thing that's where the microphone

goes here's the microphone here's the camera here is the new food

my name is Makar lino and I'm a wheel addict today I'm going to show you how

we can make all of your skates comfortable wait 12 euros ok so today's

video is done I'm about to leave this place let me get some light in here I've

been working on my emails and stuff already and now because I'm still on

skates and it's right now 10:04 Janice is waiting for me outside

and we're supposed to go for these work together so that's that pretty girl that

makes my videos awesome

hard to fit in here

so this is the new Radisson rabbit alley open today and this is probably the only

opportunity this case inside this thing

and that's how you promote the hotel and I'm running alone I got a crew there's

three boards and the security is my friend today

security I'm going to take advantage of today I can skate so I'm going to my

enjoy I enjoy the one what tell me about your experience

I don't have my wallet so wife is buying food so she found the cheapest

healthiest place on earth I'm not getting his salary yeah she's a mom at

home now so first you want a willing my hobby or

is the beak in the beak and check where we are let's see let's see if they let

me get in with digs

so back at my office I have a lot to do I need to edit some videos the video

that I filmed before I have a lot of emails and post internet posts to do so

that's what I'm gonna do next I'm gonna keep my skates on but not really gonna

skate a lot now but later I will because Tuesday's it's usually the skaters night

at the shred so inline skaters usually come to the Shred but today I'm on DS so

I'm gonna skate two days later on

three hours later work is done here here and here and now it's time to skate

so it's alpha 6 I've been skating since I told you but I don't want this unit to

be just me skating so I'm gonna try to bring the camera outside now and show

you a trick on roller skates and the park is quite practice you will see

right now there's a lot of inline skate is not a lawful like quite a few

where's the statement

Chris I'm gonna ask you for a favor just to film it yeah

I almost changed I'm about to leave and I almost took the skates off but I did

it wrong I promise I didn't I'm not I'm not but the funny part is going to start

now because you saw how much I was hurting now I'm gonna need to shower I

got very little sleep so that's when the fun starts I'll try to find a way I

think I need to bring the tool because to take these pants I might need to take

the trucks

finally going home that's these are still on

my feet are starting to hurt a little bit

don't give them I'll keep them on my dad my office is done

which means 12 hours are gone I got 12 hours more stay there I'm home

baby and Jenny's already sleeping and I want a shower but I don't know if I can

take my pants so I'll try but in case I can't I got this and I might need to

take the trucks off so that I can take my pants and and then a shower or a bot

I can't make noise and because the baby slipping and it's really really hard to

skate inside house with my wife sleeping and with the baby sleeping so that's a

hard challenge I've done a lot of heart rates in my life but one of the hardest

tricks that I've ever done was come out of the bath weed teeth this was probably

one of my hardest tricks ever

see what time is it right now I'll bust man okay so it's been about 14 hours

since I started with this and I think I gotta go to bed and I don't want to go

to bed with my skype like this and go like wife is sleeping and I wanna touch

a with my dirty outdoor skates so I had this idea of using like some old shirt

and just cover it so I'm gonna try to cover my skate with some old shirt so

that I can sleep with them and if I need to move in the room I don't wake up

anyone

not the best-looking skates but at least a lot more hygienic you like this it

smell good even my cat says it smell good guys like this gate now let me go

to bed so again it's been 14 in about 14 hours this up with my skates on I'm not

gonna show you what happens during the night usually I need to to to feed the

baby and change nappies and all that but my wife is also gonna be sleeping on my

side so speak to you in the morning I won't skate it's it's 8:00 in the

morning Thursday and I'm doing these 24 hours charge what is it five minutes

it's now 847 I have two minutes more with the skates and then I can take them

out and the challenge is complete one minute I have to admit that my feet are

hurting and they're not hurting because of the moral of these cases they're

hurting because it's just way too long on skates and especially at night your

feet kind of swallow a little bit and I had to unloose the laces but I didn't

took this case out so let's see we have like a few seconds and then I can take

these ones out meanwhile what I can tell you why don't

you try this try it I want to see what you got 24 hours

this is a roller skates I believe that on inline skates would be harder because

every time I stand up you need to stabilize your food in this direction so

probably would be a bit harder with inline skates then with roller skates so

that might be an X charge and maybe you want to do it so and that's it 24 hours

24 hours now I'm gonna take away

no blisters but definitely I feel some pressure here see the skin was way more

sensible in some places but anyway it's done so I hope you enjoyed this video if

you did enjoy this video don't forget the subscribe to the channel give me

some thumbs up if you liked it give me some thumbs down if you didn't and I

think I got my scanning done for today hope to see you guys soon just don't

forget what we all started skating because it's fun

Cheers
