Q&A (Jackie) - How Well Do We Communicate In English? - Duration: 0:50.

Hey David here at our Philippines office with another one of our supervisors Jackie.

How are you, Jackie?

I'm doing good.

So, common question, first of all, do our team in the office speak English and how well

do they speak English?

How would you rate your English, Jackie?

I would say 9.

And when did you start speaking English?

When I was in grade school.

Actually, there was a time when my brothers, whenever they would ask me questions in English,

I would just say 'yes,' 'no,' and they said 'Hey, speak better English.'

And so I really learned more in school.

We even had public speaking.

And I really had to go for it and improve my English since then.

And within the office would you say, what?

Every single person speaks English.

So it is very very common for people in the office to speak English.

Okay, awesome.

Thank you.

Q&A (Steph) - How Do We Protect Our Clients' Data? - Duration: 0:53.

Hey David here over in our Philippines office.

And I have Steph here as well. How are you, Steph?

I'm doing good, David.

Excellent. So,

Steph's one of our supervisors

and we have a common question around

how we protect clients' intellectual property and data

especially in property management and real estate

because you want to make sure that you know

when you have a number of different people working for

different clients all in the same office space,

the propriety information is protected.

So Steph, how do we do that?

So here in the office we value data privacy and security highly.

So every team member has their own PC which is password protected,

and they're all instructed not to share any of their tasks

or data with other team members.

And we do have similar software across different agencies,

and any instance where we do actually have a requirement

for a person to access the data to gain knowledge on that software,

we actually have an onsite trainer as well

that can handle that training.

Okay. Excellent. Thank you very much.

D for Dwarf - Dwarven Beards (read by Eastside Steve of Eastside Show SCP) - Duration: 4:52.

D for Dwarf Series: Dwarven Beards

Characteristics Dwarven hair is extremely hearty; the average

dwarf hair is many times longer and several times thicker than the average human hair.

The range of colors is quite large; common colors include dark blues, black, any number

of shades of gray, silver, white, brown, copper, rust, and even flaming orange-red.

Because they are grown to such incredible lengths and thicknesses, dwarven beards act

as an extra layer of defense against external dangers - the resiliency of the beard helps

protect the dwarf's face from physical blows, the expansiveness of the beard helps protect

the dwarf's face and upper body against sources of radiation, and in its normal state, the

beard almost completely covers the nasal passages and the mouth, acting as a sort of natural

gas mask, which keeps noxious gases and other airborne contaminants from being inhaled.

Also, each hair is coated with unique oils that give it the ability to attract and trap

some germs and bacteria, which are then either scrubbed out in the bath, or (more commonly)

immersed in strong alcohol from the inevitable poorly-aimed quaff.

[edit]Dwarven beards as a sensory organ The remarkably thick hairs of the male dwarf's

beard are a marvel of biology.

Each hair contains millions of sensory receptors of incredible diversity, including but not

limited to hairs that gauge humidity and air flow, hairs highly sensitive to the presence

of alcohol, air pressure sensing "Bad Fun Decision" hairs that are hooked directly to

the brain's pleasure center and chemically reward dwarves for digging deeper, and even

hairs that produce more and more vitamin D the longer a dwarf spends underground, to

the point where any solar contact at all results in an overload of vitamins and immediate nausea.

The only sense that dwarven beards lack, are heat sensories.

Dwarves also use their beards to procreate.

Female dwarves use their long, luxurious knuckle hairs for the same purposes.

[edit]Dwarven beards as a symbiotic organism In actuality, dwarves are not singular creatures

such as humans, but are colonial organisms consisting of a single humanoid body (referred

to as a 'Dwarf' for simplicity's sake here), and a colony of beard strands.

Dwarves and beards have formed a symbiotic relationship over the years, to the point

where neither is capable of survival without the other, similar to a Portuguese Man o'

War.

Strangely enough, the higher intellect, agency and decision-making of the colony is not handled

by the humanoid part, but by a hive mind residing in the beard -- which goes a long way towards

explaining why the dwarf's humanoid brain must be sloshed with alcohol in order put

the colony into good working order, i.e, with the beard at the helm.

While each individual beard strand is very small, much like cloud computing, together

they are able to form complex thoughts.

Because they are each rather simple, they tend to all get aligned on the same thought

at once, leading to a dwarf deciding "Getting -troll fur sock- at all costs" is the only

thing worth doing right now.

The body is essentially a sack of meat used to move the beard from place to place.

Dwarven beard strands have been observed to attempt to bond with humans, due to a similar

body structure, but such symbiosis is always short lived for the human.

"Dwarven Ghosts" are actually the remaining beard strands when the 'body' segment dies.

The strands, similar to muscle memory, assume the shape of the body they once inhabited

and attempt to carry out their routines.

Due them just being thin strands in a humanoid shape, they appear gossamer and ethereal to

onlookers, and objects pass through them by slipping past the strands.

This also explains why ghosts die of old age; it takes a while, but eventually the strands

exhaust their nutrient supply, being unable to draw from the dead host.

[edit]Elven Commentary on Beards Elf 1: Sir!

I have the report from our last attack on the dwarves!

Elf 2: Ah, good.

Have we wiped them out this time?

Elf 1: No, sir.

everyone is dead... however, we did discover something strange.

Elf 2: Well, what is it...?

Elf 1: While examining the mutilated corpse of one of our kin, our scout noticed that

he seemed to be clutching what appears to be some rough strands of hair.

I had him bring them back.

Elf 2: Alright, let me see them, I suppose... *the elf examines the hairs closely for a

moment* Elf 2: Oh... my... god... it's the beards...

Elf 1: What was that, sir?

Elf 2: IT'S THE BEEAARRDSS!!!

Elf 2: *Runs to the highest tree in the forest* IT'S THE BEEEEEAAAARRRDSS!!!!!!!!

Elf 2: Ready the troops!

Tonight, we siege!!

Not against their fortress... but against.

their.

CHINS.

Why do Watermelons have so many seeds? Explained!! - Duration: 2:20.

Have you ever imagined why do the watermelons have so many seeds?

The idea behind having so many seeds is that when animals eat the fruit, they wander around

& poop out the seeds which grow into the next generation of plants.

Now what happens if the animal chews up the seeds?

Or Poops in a location unsuitable for the growth

of plants?

The seeds are lost.

As a contingency, watermelons evolved to have more seeds.

It's an adaptive process.

The more the number of seeds, higher the probability of at least one seed getting successfully

planted.

At this point you would probably think "Well that makes sense" But this theory doesn't

hold good for fruits like oranges or apples, they have so much less number of seeds when

compared to a watermelon.

An orange has approx 10 seeds whereas a watermelon has around 250.

Well Yes, that's correct, but an orange tree has about hundred oranges on it.

So that means a total of about 1000 seeds to disperse.

How many watermelons grow on a vine?

May be four.

There's our same 1000 seeds.

Talking about an apple tree, it is long-lived and produces many fruits over its lifespan,

so each individual fruit doesn't have to contain so many seeds.

Whereas A watermelon plant is an annual, meaning it only lives one season and then it's gone.

Its reproductive efforts are concentrated into one big burst of productivity, and the

more seeds it can produce, the more likely its genes will pass on.

So annual plants that produce a lot of seeds become the successful ones.

If watermelons had just one seed, we might not be talking about them.

Now a fun question for you all, can you name 3 fruits which don't have seeds?

Do tell me in the comments.

If you enjoyed the video, do give it a big thumbs up, also don't forget to share & subscribe.

Cheers!!

LOVE FROM ANOTHER LAND - Duration: 1:48.

Somehow we found each other Strangers from a distant land

Though we grew to love each other I cannot touch your hand

When I'm far into Saturday You're stuck in Sunday without me

When you dream, I'm awake When you work, I'm fast sleep

14 hours always separate us Those hours pass like days

Until I hear your voice again Two different worlds keep us apart

So different but somehow the same

Wish I could travel the ocean Remove its salty sea

Trying to pull us apart Bring you close to me

Though our love may be unusual It's really easy to explain

Like father and daughter Enjoying summer rain

Yes different worlds separate us But we love each other the same

When you smile I laugh When you cry my heart is broken

And though so far apart We share our thoughts as one

Though we may never touch in person Love does not require consummation

For the pleasure of knowing you Or the fragrance of your hair

I hope when life forever separates us When I can no longer breath or speak your

name I am far better for having known you

From another place, another land

Scottish Highland Games in Dunoon, Scotland (2017 Cowal Highland Gathering) - Duration: 13:05.

One of our last adventures of summer was a Scottish road trip to the Highland Games.

We had been to the games once before in Canada, but now it was time to experience the real

deal right where it all began, so after enjoying a few days in Glasgow, we hit the road.

Our destination: the Cowal Highland Gathering in the town of Dunoon.

We're in Loch Lomond.

First stop of the day.

Yep.

We've been driving how long do you think?

Maybe a half hour?

A bit more.

More like 45 minutes to 50 minutes.

Yeah, and we've been seeing the Loch eyeing it out of the window for a while now.

It looked beautiful so we finally pulled over.

Trying to figure out an actual place to pull over and then we finally did and then we found

this nice little stretch.

It is almost like this tiny little stretch of sand.

And yeah it has been great to fly because it was raining before and it stopped just

for us.

So yeah, it is beautiful but gotta get back to the car and continue this road trip.

Our journey took us west out of Glasgow and then north along the shores of Loch Lomond

and the Trossachs National Park.

Loch Lomond is the largest loch in Scotland and probably the most famous after Loch Ness,

though we didn't spot Nessie's cousin.

From there we continued along the shores of Loch Fyne and Loch Eck, before arriving at

our destination in the middle of a torrential downpour.

Seeing as the weather wasn't cooperating, we grabbed a quick dinner in Dunoon and drove

to our AirBnB, which was set in an old merchant's manor right by the water.

Alright Sam, what is this place behind us?

This is where we stayed.

This was home for the night.

Tada.

Look at how historic it is.

I think it dates back to the 1800s.

Yeah, and the host was so so nice.

We loved our stay here and we slept like babies.

So peaceful.

Alright, time to hit the road.

This is our beast of a car.

We got a giant van.

It looks like we're going on tour but I guess this was the only automatic they had.

So we took it.

So we have made it.

We have arrived at the Cowal Highland Gathering.

This is the main reason we've come all the way to the town of Dunoon.

It is a little bit early actually.

We're here too early because none of the events have started yet.

But we noticed there is a street food section where we can sample some Scottish street food.

So we're going to go in search of a snack and then it will be time for dancing and games.

Let's go.

Ah, it is a big portion.

Only if you can.

You got neeps.

Hahaha.

That is the stovies here.

Beets.

So we found a food truck called Scotland's Gourmet Kitchen and I ordered myself Beef

Stovies.

I had no idea what this was.

So food tour.

Yeah.

The way they explained it to me it is kind of like a potato mash with some dried beef,

it also has some carrots and it comes with beetroot and little oat cakes or oat cookies.

So yeah, first time trying this Scottish dish.

Let's see what it is like.

Is it good?

Mmmm.

That is quite nice yeah.

Yeah.

I loved mashed potatoes so I mean you could have added anything to it and I'd be like

yeah that is good.

It is nice and hearty.

And the beef is quite tender not too tough.

And let's add some beetroot in there.

Beetroot and maybe I wonder if this is meant to be dessert or you just eat it with the

mash.

Mmmm.

New dish and it is a hit with me.

I like this a lot.

And I'm going for a classic Haggis, Neeps and Tatties.

Yeah.

So let me show you which is which.

Haggis over here and that is sheep's pluck which is heart, liver and lungs.

Yes.

And then we have the tatties which are the potatoes.

Yep.

And the neeps which are the turnips.

So yeah this is probably the most famous Scottish dish you can try.

Classic Scottish food right here.

And I have to say wonderful food to be having on a day that is a little bit chilly and overcast.

Yeah.

And rainy so.

This is the kind of hearty food I need.

Yeah.

Oh my gosh that is nice.

I'm glad we found some food before the games begin.

Because I think it is going to get quite busy.

Yeah, this is delicious.

Next, it was time to enjoy some of the events.

Bagpiping is an integral part of the Highland Games with both solo pipers and pipe bands

competing, and we happened to be there on the day the Cowal Pipe Band Championship was

taking place, so we had to check that out.

(Scottish Bagpipes and Drums)

We also watched some Highland dancing.

The Cowal Highland Gathering was hosting the Scottish and World Highland Dancing Championships,

so there were dancers from around the world competing that day.

It is great we've been granted access here into the trophy room and there are some very

impressive looking trophies so we're just going to have a quick little tour.

But now let's meet the man who was showing us around the Cowal Highland Games.

Hi my name is Alan Pettigrew.

I've come down here for the Cowal Highland Gathering.

The biggest and most prestigious games in the world.

I'm here in Dunoon in Bonnie Scotland.

And today there is going to be a fantastic day and we've been here doing these games

for about a 120 years.

Today in the heavy events we have 6 events to vie for this prestigious championship.

We have the famous Cowal Stone which is 14.3 kilograms.

We have the 16 pound shot.

The 28 pound weight for distance.

The 16 pound scott hammer and this is this lovely beauty here.

This is the original hammer which Scotland gave to the world of International athletics.

A wooden shaft which then changed to a wire handle and used in the Olympics and World

Championships all over the world.

And after this event we have the 56 pound weight over the bar for height and then last

but not least we have the famous till hall caber.

So we just finished watching some of the Highland dancing and the bagpipers and now the Heavy

Athletics are about to begin.

We're going to watch the men and women compete and that is happening just behind us and we've

got front row seats so let me take you over.

(Patting sounds)

Arrggghhhh.

(Grunting noises)

But enough of the huffing and puffing, I think we need some slo-mo magic to really appreciate

this event.

Well well how is your morning going so far?

It is going great.

I think I've been really enjoying the Heavy Athletics.

Yeah.

Like the athletes are so strong yet they are so coordinated as well.

Yeah, it is just amazing to see how far they are able to toss these different items that

they are throwing.

Yeah, especially that stone.

Oh my gosh.

I tried picking it up.

Oh my gosh it weighs a tonne.

So the festivities still continue.

I can actually hear bagpipes off in the distance but we actually need to head back to Glasgow

because we have a flight to catch later tonight.

Yeah, so we're saying farewell games.

Bye bye Highland Games.

But it was a cool experience and it was really nice to have a local like Alan show us around,

give us a bit of a behind the scenes tour.

Mmmhmm.

And yeah it was just a great games.

Great event and highly recommend going if you're in Scotland this time of year.

Alright, let's hop in the car.

So we are making a random little stop in Benmore.

We're just outside Benmore Botanic Garden because we saw sheep.

We saw green fields, we saw forests, a river.

Now we're walking on a wooden bridge and it just looked beautiful.

What do you think Sam?

Yeah, exactly.

Baa!

Baa!

I don't think you guys have gotten a full tour of the van yet.

And it is massive.

This beast right here is a nine seater.

It fits I think 8.

It is three three and two in front.

But yeah, when they pulled this car up we were like are you kidding me.

We're going along these little narrow roads country roads.

It was a challenge and then we had like basically a storm last night.

So yeah.

I think you improved your driving skills immensely.

Woo hoo!

We were both thrilled to be treated with much better weather on the drive back to Glasgow,

so we made it a point to stop and enjoy the scenery.

One of our favourite stops was the Rest & Be Thankful lookout point - yes, that's the

actual name of the place, so we did exactly as it suggested.

And that's a wrap for our road trip to the Cowal Highland Gathering.

We were only there to experience 1 day of the events, but we hope this video gave you

a little taste of what Scotland's Highland Games are all about.
