oh I remember this yeah anybody who is watching my videos like a year ago or

more may remember this thing basically it's Arduino the pro micro that's from

yeah Pro micro which is Leonardo ish family it's not based on the 80 mega 328

family this is the what the hell is it yeah this is the 80 mega 30 to you which

among other things can do USB natively matter of fact it's the same chip that's

used for the USB interface on some versions of the uno as opposed to the

the other ones which need their own USB chip

and I played with that week or so ago we can go back and look at that anyway so I

got that hooked up to an original NES controller just right now with just a

wire stuck in the pins and actually did a video on this about a year ago

I'll link it up there somewhere or down in the comments definitely and at the

end and it's it's fairly clever because it's kind of a serial a synchronous

serial communication coming out of here there's a data line o'clock line and a

latch wine which I've got plugged into were the pins two three and four by the

looks of it and yeah so why was I all right I know what I was waiting on hey

teenager you were supposed to code this thing like a year ago weren't you yeah

right get on that I'll be back to you in a

minute so anyways um so well he's doing that hopefully I also was working on a

little box for this so put the the Arduino in there looks like a head

socket set up for it on there and I actually made myself I made myself a

hack together a little receptacle here so I wouldn't have to cut the end off

because I know if I do there's gonna be some collector somewhere screaming at me

for defiling a precious heirloom or something so I just glued together some

bits of styrene and punched some bits of 18 gauge wire through that have little

Wiggles bent in them so that they make contact like that so I won't melt that

in the end of the box kind of thusly and hopefully about time I'm cutting and

hacking with that won't see if uh if the teenager in the cave upstairs has some

code for me

so next I guess I'll pull this guy out and do a bit of soldering and throw some

Efik sation onto this one hmm what's the adhesive of choice

five-minute epoxy yeah oh it's not I guess I should quickly reverse engineer

my pins here so that one up there is VCC this one here so I'm there ground so

then the oh shit wait that one go one way in between there so where's my board

gun ground and then there's three in a row after it so that's two three and

four so the blue one is next in that goes to three two goes to the next one

and that one probably goes to four set that aside for a moment well I get this

ready to go it's not pretty none of this project is that's not the

point of the exercise all right so I'm just gonna mechanically hold this guy on

with the four corner pins it's not crucial because there is going to be

solder on to some of the other pins that are actually doing some work but I

happen to I'm fairly confident that the four corner pins aren't electrically

needed for this project so I'll just use them as anchors I may add a few more

later

hey that's not going anywhere and it was ECC I'll start with that one

you know and am I gonna get in there

here we go how does that look okay move the pin connects with the pad snap put

it off okay let's repeat with the ground in pins two three and four

all right let's see how that looks is there any shorts no it ain't pretty but

I don't think anything shorted there you that little dude that's not bad and I

didn't glue the connector in that's even better

all right just finish that soldering up and we just fell ready to test it I

think

and the last one pin 4 all right now just just look there shrinky drink down

there and these things all nice and orderly

no no confidently I'm not even testing this thing I'm just putting it all

together I'm probably gonna cry about that later of course you can't even see

what's going on this is gonna be great

we have this go that fits in there where's Elise ha oh right just that ever

so slightly there no the little fit went there we go

no then you stumble upstairs and see if that software that I ordered is ready

okay um I've still got the my test sketch in here from way back and it

looks like it's throwing data at it so I'll start pushing buttons right left

up down a B start they all work that's excellent

whoo okay here is the new chunk of code fresh out of code mine

aka my teenagers cave upstairs so he what he's done is done these binary

compares so the original is still reading the controller which is using so

this this from here up is all the original code hacked together which I

stole partially from some and I can't remember go check the other

video so basically I write the clock hi da I read the controller data I do a I

put the clock whoa bang high low high low high low through a loop seven times

boof done so that's that controller read function so in the loop calling that

serial.print don't need that anymore but I guess it doesn't hurt that's just from

experiment area it's commented oh so there's the buttons in the binary that

they throw on to my little shift in thing so what he's got is some looks

like a some kind of a binary compare or something like that

I don't understand this code stuff and you guys know this everyone watching my

channel you can explain to me how this works in the comments if you want and

I'm sure it's quick and dirty because he's never actually written anything in

C before he's more of a Java kind of a guy so the a button it sends a C to the

keyboard yeah okay so this thing is emulating a keyboard it's pretending to

be a keyboard and basically it's pushing the directional things at WASD which is

very standard for keyboard control games start button select button a and B

button just sending different characters to the keyboard and releasing them again

so each button press it just sends one button so I guess if you hold it here

it sends a single clicky click so I guess if you hold it it just as the loop

goes through it just keeps hammering those keys okay well let's let's compile

it no error message that's a good start I pulled compiling uploading why did it

go blink now plugging and done uploading right now let's go to actually know so

serial monitor still doing what it was doing I guess we need

texts or something here text editor that'll do

so up W right D down s left a a button is C B button is V start button and

select button so if I push write a whole bunch of times

ah wow I guess I shouldn't be too hard on him he did a good job with this thing

this is awesome alright no I like it okay I guess you

need to play a game don't Lee hang on okay so I've got an emulator for an NES

game of course and I've found a ROM file don't ask why are you gonna tell you

especially if you're a cop don't ask so let's get this emulator running here

that looks promising no sound maybe that's because I'm recording I don't

know okay start button start button the game soon okay into the game let's see

how I go here oops yeah start button they said select or eben they're real I

don't know this go go Mary Oh jump on that thing

no come on this works I'm thrilled what does the B button do nothing oh this is

grand okay that sucks but the controller works this is excellent

well well I guess we know what I'm gonna be doing for the rest of the evening

well that was fun for coming down here not really knowing what I'm gonna do I

am more than pleased about this and with the lid closed that doesn't even look

too shabby supposed to put a sticker on there or something but it's just a black

box but it does such wonderful things I like it well thanks for watching

Hi everyone, I hope you're all having a great first week at the fall semester

I hope things have been running smoothly and you haven't run into too many challenges. I

Wanted to send out another video just to say hi again and to talk with you a little bit more about

some things that have come up with the class, the

introduction discussion and the MindTap ebook, registration for the MindTap ebook, and a little bit to about

Due dates and deadlines

Just based on some emails that I sent out this morning and yesterday or this morning

I believe. Those of you that have already logged into the blackboard course shell and have registered for your MindTap ebook,

I really appreciate you getting started and I'd like to apologize for the confusion with the introduction assignment.

I did make a note in the week 1 folder that I wanted you to introduce yourselves to each other and

normally, there is a discussion for that, but I hadn't posted anything on the discussion board.

So some of you took the initiative,

which is great, to introduce yourselves in our PG 120 Community Cafe

discussion board or a discussion forum

and that's not exactly where I wanted you to do that particular assignment. That particular discussion forum is more for like a

hangout for you guys, to talk with each other, to share

advise, to answer, ask and answer questions of each other.

It's mostly like, you know, like a little cafe just to go in and chit chat.

It's not really for you to submit your assignments.

So but I know there was some confusion because probably those of you that have had online courses

before, that's where you're used to doing the introduction.

So I'm gonna be trying something a little bit different this time around that I'm still working on,

but I will be sharing with you by tomorrow, over the weekend at the latest, with regards to an introduction assignment.

Don't worry about the deadline date. I will

assign an appropriate date, I will give you plenty of time to complete the assignment so you don't have to worry about that.

Now you did get an email from me also about due dates and deadlines dates

and so I just want to talk a little bit about that.

Just to let you know that I'm trying something different.

I'm not adhering to my very strict no late homework policy as I usually do.

I read an article over the summer that talked about

You know how important it is to be a little bit more flexible and just to try something different.

So I'm gonna go ahead and do that with you guys. So I'm experimenting

hopefully

you'll prove me, you won't prove me wrong, and

hopefully and this will work for everybody. But I did put some due dates on the course schedule and in MindTap

just to help you stay on track,

but they're not hard deadlines. They're more like soft deadlines to help you kind of you know

stay on track so that you don't get too far behind and you don't wait to the last minute to do all your work and

create added stress for yourself.

So if you can try to adhere to those deadlines if for some reason you know

I know life happens and you have stuff going on outside of school

And sometimes you just can't get stuff done when you need to so

I'm gonna go go ahead and give you the whole eight weeks pretty much to

complete all assignments.

Just be careful cuz with MindTap I do, umm

the MindTap system does turn off or closes the assignment once the due date has passed.

So you will need to let me know if you're gonna be submitting work late

If you want me to open up or make this I'm in available to you

So just keep that in mind

I'm still not sure if I'm gonna just go ahead and open them all and give every every assignment the deadline date of

October 13th, which is the last day of our class

But I'm gonna see how it goes with what we have right now. And then if we need to make adjustments, we'll make adjustments

That's kind of the best thing about this course too, is that, as we go along, if

things aren't working, I'm not gonna keep them. So I just need you to communicate with me

BEYOND ORGANIZED RELIGION ⛪ Spirituality & Religion (Balance & Purpose Podcast) - Duration: 9:21.

I am definitely nervous to share this because I know this is gonna cause a lot

of people to perhaps want to unfollow me or just judge me or to be upset I don't

know I am trying to not even think about that because that's what gets me nervous

and stresses me out but ultimately my goal like I always say is to just be as

open and authentic as possible and I do it because I feel like it is somewhat of

my mission it's what I feel gives me the most purpose to do stuff like this and

that's what inspired me to start blogging almost ten years ago and then

led to many blogs on Instagram and periscope and YouTube and now podcasting

and I I do it because it just feels right for me because like I've mentioned

before growing up I felt a lot of shame from different things that were

happening within the home I felt like we had a lot of secrets to hide and I hated

that feeling so much and I felt like I had to share those secrets in order for

me to feel more at peace so I did share those secrets with close friends

and and I did feel a huge sense of relief and then later I read this book

by brené Brown the gifts of imperfection and she states that shame only needs

three things to grow secrecy silence and judgment so I think because I knew that

truth from early on in my life I feel like I feel so liberated

when I share everything in my life and I do feel like it helps people it's you

know just to know that other people are going through something similar I don't

know if any of you are going through what I'm going through right now and I'm

sorry I keep keep not sharing it because I'm nervous okay all right I'm gonna

come right out and just say it and please just have an open mind and please

just love me anyway and allow me to make this choice and to live my life the way

I feel is right for me so about three months ago through a series of events

and lots and lots of reading and research and really really trying to

discover my true purpose and to discover more about this life and the mind and

the conditioning of our culture and you know what the way

everyone is brought up and how we adapt certain beliefs because of our

environment and because of you know the family that we were raised in the

experiences that we had I came to this realization that I wasn't sure that I

actually believed in the religion that I was following and I don't even want to

say it I don't even want to say the religion I know most of you know what it

is but I really am trying so hard to share this in the best most respectful

way so that I don't offend anyone I simply want to share authentically

exactly what I experienced but at the same time being as respectful as

possible to the religion that I was a part of and all religions that's my

whole goal really that's really what this led up to I decided

that I didn't but I just was so confused that every religion felt so strongly

that they were the one and only true religion and I felt that way too and I

kept thinking more about that thinking wolf why why do we all think that we're

right and the conclusion I came up with is that we can all be right and I've

decided to believe that I've decided that I can choose to believe whatever I

want to believe and I am choosing to believe that we can all be right we can

all be our on our very own unique path and we can all be right for us

so I decided based on that mostly is that I don't want to belong to any

organized religion because I want to be in the most accepting I want to live in

such a way that I can accept everybody in their own beliefs and I can allow

myself also to believe whatever I choose to believe and not what I feel like I've

been taught to believe or what I'm forced to believe I just feel this is

the best route for me and I know I'm trying not to think of what all of

you are thinking but one last thing about this I know many of you are

probably worried about me because I've felt the same way towards people who

have made this decision in the past when I was in the religion and I saw people

falling away I guess that's what you'd call it um making that choice and I

would feel worried for them and a lot of judgment and I'm going to admit I

definitely judged but now being in this situation and I tell you I never in a

million years imagined I would be here I was so devoted to my religion I served

18 months of my life I gave 18 months of my life to a hundred spending a hundred

percent of my time trying to teach about this religion and teach you know

everything about what we believed and and of course I've been in at my entire

life I've I've devoted a lot of time and energy to this religion and I don't

regret anything I absolutely have no regrets I just feel like I got to a

place in my life of allowing of allowing myself to just be free to believe

whatever I want to believe and to allow others to believe whatever they want to

believe so I hope that I hope that you all can just have compassion for me and

stick with me because I will never say anything negative about any religion or

anybody's life choice because that's the kind of person I want to be I want to be

so accepting of everybody's unique path and all of their choices and their

beliefs this episode has been on my mind all summer long like I said because I

wanted to make sure that I explained this in the best way possible in a way

that you all can feel like I'm not attacking anyone or any religion or

anyone's beliefs but also to just have comfort in knowing that you can continue

to listen to my podcasts I'm never gonna say anything bad about any religion like

I said I'm just simply on a spiritual journey this is really what it's all

about for me I feel this is I feel so strongly this

is the right path for me and I know that that sounds crazy but it really is I

feel like I am truly living connected with my inner being my intuition and

following my own unique path

Quick Update - What's To Come and More - Duration: 2:09.

Hello, I am Viddy of ViddyOGamesForFun and welcome to Viddy Plays and this quick update video.

I said on my main channel ViddyOGamesForFun that I was essentially taking a break and I'm back.

I do apologize for not necessarily having more special videos out as I sort of talked about.

The Mario Party 2 and Mario Tennis compilation video is all I could manage. I got a bit tired and burnt out -

I'm sorry, but who knows, maybe in the future there will be some special moments videos to come. Though

that's not what this update video is about.

I want to talk a bit about my upload schedule and what videos I'm making.

First of all, I have said on my main channel ViddyOGamesForFun

that work has changed up somewhat and my upload schedule may slow down a bit.

I intend to upload my recording sessions divided into parts every week if I can. I can't make any promises.

And I

hope you

understand and are patient and that you enjoy the videos. And what videos are to come? Well as of this upload this weekend a

Mario Party 2 multiplayer commentary is likely to be recorded and that will be what is uploaded next week -

so more Mario Party 2. After that Donkey Kong Country 2 will be

resumed. That of course will alternate with EarthBound. EarthBound is going to take some time to complete but that's ok.

Donkey Kong Country 2 is nearly complete however, and I see 2 more recording sessions for that. A game will replace Donkey Kong Country 2 after it's completed.

But what's it going to be?

Well

I guess you'll just have to wait and see. And will there be another Dalek

Plays video like with the Sam and Max one and even the other videos on the playlist?

Well, I'll have to see if the Dalek has been playing in the video games lately before I can upload anything.
