Since premiering in 2006, Little People, Big World has been a runaway success for TLC.
Season after season there has been plenty of drama to keep viewers interested, from
marriages to babies, and even divorce.
Few storylines have captivated audiences quite as much as Amy and Matt Roloff's split, and
the newly kindled romances that followed, especially Amy's.
After she and Matt called it quits in 2016, Amy soon found love with a real estate agent
named Chris Marek.
While everything appears to be going well for them, there's a lot folks who still don't
know about Chris, who's managed to keep a rather low profile.
Here are a few things you may not know about Amy Roloff's boyfriend.
He's friendly with her ex
Despite ongoing feud rumors, Chris is adamant about the fact that he and Amy's ex-husband,
Matt, get along just fine, something Amy herself initially thought wouldn't be possible.
Chris told RadarOnline in March 2018,
"To be honest, Amy was concerned in the beginning about how Matt and I might interact but no
concerns about that now.
Everything is good.
Matt and I get along just fine."
In fact, while planning Amy's surprise birthday bash, Chris went as far as to enlist the help
of Matt, who helped out with hiding the cars of the guests.
Even though Matt thought it was a little strange, he said:
"Chris is very respectful.
I think Chris is good for Amy."
Amy's new beau also felt good about his relationship to Matt.
Chris told viewers,
"I think he and I get along fine.
Fortunately, he doesn't make me feel like I am intruding."
A successful real estate agent
Skeptics who claim that Marek is mooching off of Roloff's reality TV success would be
interested to know that he's actually got a career of his own, and it's rather impressive.
According to real estate site Zillow, Marek has been an agent for nearly two decades and
has countless happy customers to his name.
In addition to listing 109 successful sales in Oregon, ranging from affordable properties
in the $100K range to luxury villas costing upwards of $500K, the site also features more
than 30 glowing five star reviews highlighting his excellent realtor skills.
He spoils his girlfriend
Marek is big on gift giving, as he proved on Valentine's Day 2018 when he bought his
love an impressive diamond necklace.
Roloff showed off her mega sparkly present on Instagram when she posted a photo of herself
holding a heart-shaped valentine for her boo.
She wrote in the caption,
"Many of you have asked — 'What did I decide to put on my Valentine Cookie Gram' to Chris?
Simply — Amy + Chris = heart emoji and I'm excited to give it to him."
But the real star of the pic was her necklace, which soon had fans asking where it came from.
Roloff revealed in the comments that Marek had given it to her.
Just a couple of months later, Marek was at it again, scoring major brownie points from
his girlfriend, as he threw her an epic birthday bash, which he managed to keep secret until
the last second.
In May 2018, Roloff gushed about the party on social media, posting a picture of herself
beaming from ear to ear.
She added the caption:
"Chris really knew how to surprise me.
This guy is wonderful!"
He's adventurous
When he's not busy working or spoiling his ladylove, Chris loves to travel.
A quick Instagram search reveals his deep-rooted passion for adventure, something he's increasingly
been sharing with Amy.
In February 2018, the mother of four documented their Idaho skiing adventure, writing in an
Instagram post:
"What a blast!
Went to Idaho to visit Chris's family and go snowmobiling.
Just beautiful."
Less than three months later, they were out exploring the mountains in the Northwest.
Using the hashtag AmysSecondActContinues, the TV star wrote,
"I love the Northwest!
It's right up there with my home state of Michigan.
Had so much fun camping this past weekend with Chris and his family...Just beautiful!
Summer's on baby!"
On an episode of Little People Big World, Amy spoke about the major differences in her
life with Chris.
"I've always been adventurous.
But I think what Chris does is open me up to new things."
Fans aren't so in love
Amy and Matt Roloff may have gone their separate ways in love, but not in business.
Despite getting a divorce, the pair decided to continue running their farm together and
living side by side, at least in the short term.
While both complained publicly about being so close post-split, Amy appeared to have
no reservations about inviting her new beau over, and fans were none too impressed.
Viewers let their disapproval be known loud and clear on Amy's social pages, writing things
like,
"It's sad to see you put Chris in your home Matt built for y'all and the kids."
He retired his "player badge"
In December 2017, Marek took his relationship with Roloff to the next level and made it
Facebook official.
The realtor updated his status to 'In a Relationship' and, in addition to telling the world that
he and the reality star were getting serious, he went one step further, revealing that he
actually retired his "Player badge" for her.
The confession came about when one of his friends commented on the newly updated status,
sharing her well-wishes for the lovebirds, before adding,
"I promise not to call you a player anymore.
You were so fun to tease."
Marek took the comment in stride and, without missing a beat, wrote back,
"Yeah, I haven't been able to wear the 'Player' badge for a while now."

But, anyway. So, like, back when I was in school, my teachers would be like...
Okay, class. It's time to do a project on, like, sea creatures.
And, like, they would make it go to the library and you'd have to, like, talk to some lady and
be, like, "Hey, can I use the computer?" Like... print out pictures of dolphins and, like, humpback whales.
And the whole process was, like, super annoying. So I wish that I had something
like the Surface Book Two...
Oh no! I broke it!
No, I didn't.
Because, sometimes, you just wanna do research for your homework...
*types in Spanglish*
And sometimes, you just wanna doodle.
So, this is me when my Mami doesn't make me mac and cheese.
And everyone is so mean because they're, like, "Oh my god! You're so stupid! Like... how come
you don't know how to make mac and cheese? Like, it's super easy!"
And I'm, like...
I know how to make mac and cheese. But you know, like, when someone else makes it,
it's better?
Now this is me when with mac and cheese.
*door knocks in intrusive Cuban mom Spanish*
Oh my God! Mom! Can you stop?!
You never let me do anything! Like...
I'm trying to make a difference!
You want cereal?
No. I'm not hungry!
And what are you doing?
Mom, I already told you. Like, I'm making a vlog for back-to-school. Like...
Stop. Like, close the door.
Look, I know you're already of age but there's a better way to meet boyfriends...
I wish I knew that it was okay to embrace my culture when I was eating my food
at school, because, my grandma would prepare my lunch, like, every day.
She would always put like, a, guava and cheese sandwich, and, like, a water bottle
wrapped in, like, paper towel.
And, like, Camomile tea and, like, a rice with fried eggs. Sometimes, like, rice and black beans.
And, like, sweet plantains.
And, like, people would be like, "Ewww, that smells!"
And I'd be like, "YOU SMELL, BRO!'
So, like, what were the things that you wish you knew when you were in school?

Palestinians: Are there many conspiracies against Palestinians? - Duration: 16:34.
Do a lot of conspiracies happen against Palestinians?
Ameen and Ali Bethlehem
The Arab mind always thinks that there is a conspiracy against them
In any country. Whether in Palestine or not
in the Arab mind, there is always a conspiracy
there are people who are grouped together
who want to be against them
But we do not deny that our Palestinian people
is suffering
from the Israeli occupation
and the American government
We are not going to say from the American people
the biggest evidence of this
is Trump's latest decision
and his complete bias to Israel
According to what I see, yes
as I can see, there is a conspiracy
through out history
and since 1948
until now
It shows from the agreements with the US
the international agreements
and from other nations
how they have failed to help us
even from the Arabs and how they failed to help us
They all failed our Palestinian cause
and we are right now alone to face this occupation
First of all, it is not that they conspired against us
but they failed us
they didn't have an excellent stance
or didn't stand with the Palestinian cause
the biggest evidence is there
agreements with the occupation (Israel)
I don't want to say that all our cause is about money
or material things
financial and moral support
from our Arab countries
is lacking and not what we want
not what we need
Do a lot of conspiracies happen to Palestinians?
Of course
Suad and Ibtisam Bethlehem
Politics and political conspiracies
Palestinian political conspiracies or foreign?
Internal and also foreign
Give me an example she is comfortable giving
Us Palestinians consider anything that happens against us
as a conspiracy
Even the agreements and accords that happened
the political ones to us, we consider them conspiracies
Yes, of course
Can a conspiracy ever be something positive that happens?
No
Ahmad Ramallah
Do you think a lot of conspiracies happen to Palestinians?
Yes, there are a lot
Jalal Bethlehem
Like the deal of the century
The Trump deal? - Yes
This deal is to get rid of the refugees
the right of return
and the Palestinians
That is not a conspiracy That is just the international community
This isn't really the international community
this is Mohammad Bin Salman
the Saudi king trying to do this
This isn't the international community
Matez Ramallah
It means they are conspiring against us
Can he give me an example
Of a conspiracy against us or in general?
against Palestinians
The Oslo conspiracy (the Oslo Agreement)
How is that a conspiracy?
I don't know exactly I am not into politics
but I know it was a conspiracy
Mohammad Jerusalem
There are many conspiracies against the Palestinians
and we suffer from them
Regrding Jerusalem
we do not move around and we don't know how to move around
Give me an example of a conspiracy
We are one of the many people
who are suffering
Why are you talking about that?
Talk about the wall
the racist wall
that has displaced all of the nation
(says) the guy from the side
This wall is effecting us in many ways
It doesn't allow people to come to us, doesn't allow us to go to other people
it doesn't allow us to move around
How do you translate the word "conspiracy"?
Conspiracy
But that's not a conspiracy that's
a political event that occured
There are many conspiracies which one are you talking about?
Maybe displacing the refugees?
Us leaving our country?
Does that imply there was a plan to do it before it happened?
Is that what he means?
before this was planned
from long ago
this has been current long ago and has happened
and from the guy on the side "and with the cooperation of the Arabs"
It was all planned, for what purpose?
To make us leave al Aqsa
and to not allow us to go near it
so they (the Jews) can have their temple
They (the Jews) claim there is a temple but there isn't one
They make people suffer so they make people give up and leave by themselves
That's the conspiracy
to make Palestinians leave
We were displaced and forced to migrate
in 1948
I am originally from Beit Natif
Our ancestors
were displaced from there some came here, some to Jordan
to Syria
It wasn't just because there was a war
it was all planned as a way to get rid of Palestinians
Yes
That's correct
These days
the present days, it is the same thing
They increased the municipal taxes
so they (Palestinians) would not be able to pay
and not be able to be...
In Jerusalem? - Yes
In Jerusalem, they increased the municipal taxes, so people will leave
Yes, and then...
But the Jews have the same taxes
then living conditions would be very difficult
No, it is not the same taxes
They have less taxes, the Jews?
We are talking about the taxes that are...
the taxes of the stores of the inside the old city of Jerusalem
and who live in the inside the old city of Jerusalem
But the Jews also live in the old city, some
They pay the same thing, as far as I know
They do but not in the same price or in the same way we do
Palestinians do
Meaning, Palestinians pay more?
Yes, of course Palestinians do pay more
When it comes to electricity
for example, electricity bills
the electricity bills of the Jews
would not exceed 500 shekels
but for Palestinians and Arabs, it would be 1000 and sometimes 2000 shekels
Akram Ramallah
Yes but from whom do you mean? Internal or external?
Either, give me an example
I feel that there is this
Elham Ramallah Former professor at Bir Zeit University

Yamaha SX Series: Interview with Christoph Sischka - Duration: 2:36.
I like the fact that Yamaha asks performers, players and pianists
about how they perceive sound and what ideas they have,
and how the piano designers then use this feedback to
influence the sound of the instrument.
From full-bodied, resonant tones to a distinct, nuanced sonic aesthetic
- designed for concert halls and recitals -
the fact that people come together and strive to develop a synthesis
- I consider this to be a very positive and productive process.
You touch the keys.
You have a palpability and naturally with this comes a certain feedback,
both tactile and through hearing. Preceding this, through the imagination
- comes what it is that you want to express.
In other words, the concept of the sound.
On the one hand, as part of this exchange, this reciprocity,
the piano has to react, and yet on the other there is the question of calculability.
I have a thought, the piano presents me with a sound,
I modify this sound and coax it into taking shape
in the formal composition of sound aesthetics.
It is in this important regard, I feel a very positive relationship with this piano.
So in my experience of these pianos,
I find them to be very comprehensive in terms of sound with a large capacity for variety,
so much so that I wouldn't suggest suitability for any particular application over another.
I consider them very good, all-round 'ready-to-play' pianos.
In terms of mechanical reaction they are extremely precise,
to the point that whatever you want to create, they will interpret it. In this respect,
they are ready to use for a wide range of applications.
I find that the instrument is well balanced for its 2m size.
Of course it's no 2,7m concert piano
- this instrument will never be at home in a concert hall -
but rather in the practice room, seminar room, lecture room or classroom
- somewhere of corresponding scale.
In such an environment, I would say it is generally very useable.

Irritable when stressed? - Duration: 3:31.
- Hey guys, it's Vesna here.
Quick one, I want to talk about if you feel irritable
at the smallest things, or you snap really easily.
You feel like your patience is a lot lower than
what it used to be.
So maybe you're reacting to things
that you haven't reacted to before.
So one of the biggest things that I hear from women
in my community is that they lose patience
really easily, either at their staff or coworkers,
when they come through the door after work they're kind of
snapping at their kids even though they love their kids,
but they feel like they don't have that patience
and that tolerance anymore.
They are reacting to things which they wouldn't
normally react to, so if this is you there's a surprising
link between irritability and adrenal fatigue.
So with adrenal fatigue, what's happened is that
there's been prolonged stress on the body
which causes an imbalance in our hormones
and once that imbalance occurs we find it really hard
to cope with stress or change in our day to day life.
So, what's actually happening there is
that with adrenal fatigue we have low cortisol levels,
and cortisol is a hormone which helps us
to adapt to our stress.
In the early stages of adrenal fatigue,
we can feel irritable because there is higher amounts
of cortisol in the system, so we can feel more anxious
and therefore more irritable, and as it's left untreated,
so we get to the later stages of adrenal fatigue
we still feel irritable because we don't have
enough cortisol to help us to adapt to stress.
So we'll get things like road rage,
we get impatient waiting in the line at the supermarket,
we could get annoyed with being on hold
with customer service, we can start to get hangry,
do you know when you get angry when you're hungry.
All those little signs start to pop up
when there is an imbalance in the body,
particularly with adrenal fatigue.
So one of the best ways to kind of change this
in the short term is doing things like
when you're feeling irritable, take yourself away
from the situation and just do some breathing exercises
where you're really just focusing on your breath.
So that's been shown to really slow down
and relax the nervous system.
So quite often when we're anxious and irritable,
our nervous system is in overdrive.
So there's definitely that that you can do,
the breathing exercises to slow down that irritability
and that adrenal response.
The second thing which I'd really suggest is to,
because irritability is a way of your body telling you
that there is a physical and chemical imbalance,
so that needs to be addressed.
So whether you're doing things to address your hormonal
imbalances, whether you're currently doing
an adrenal reset plan.
If not, I'd strongly urge you to do that.
Doing things like including mediation and yoga
into your day to day or weekly routine is another great way
to relax your nervous system.
Now, if you already know that this could be a possibility
for you that you have adrenal fatigue, you don't know
what to do about it, maybe you've tried all the right things
before and you haven't got the results that you want.
I'm running a workshop this week, it's free to join,
and I'm going to take you through what are the steps
in order to heal adrenal fatigue and create a lot more
balance back in your life, get your energy back,
get your mojo back, shift any unwanted kilos
that have been stuck there for a while.
So come and join me on the workshop.
It's free to join.
I'm going to put a link below and above this video.
Hope to see you there.
Bye for now.

How To Stop Feeling Like A Moody Biatch - Duration: 4:14.
- Hey everyone.
It's Vesna here,
and I want to talk about mood swings
and where do they come from.
Some of the comments that I hear in my online workshop
from women who join is that
it doesn't take much to snap at my kids.
I feel moody all the time.
I go from happy to cranky in five minutes.
I'm turning into a cranky biatch.
All of that kind of stuff.
So I really want to talk about
what is actually going on there.
I see this a lot in women who are burnt out
because what happens is during burnout
we don't have the nervous system reserves,
we don't have the vitality,
to deal with stuff that shows up.
So instead of having a normal reaction we overreact.
And so maybe we would've had a normal reaction in the past,
but now we're overreacting to things
and we can't control it.
That's a really key sign of it as well.
So one of the things that I find in burnt out women
who have these mood swings or these mood disruption
is that the sugar level rollercoaster
can create most of these symptoms.
Sugar influences our behavior.
You only have to look at children when they eat sugar.
We know not to give them too much sugar
because they go berserk.
You look at kids at a kids' party.
They're running around like lunatics, right?
And so sugar really impacts our behavior.
And it does disrupt our mood in three different ways.
First of all, it actually starves our brain.
So if you wake up in the morning
and you start your morning with an orange juice and cereal,
something sweet,
what that's going to do is
cause a rise in your blood sugar levels,
and when that blood sugar level rises
we get insulin being released to pull that sugar out.
And then we get a dip.
And it's in that dip later on that cortisol,
which is our main stress hormone,
comes in in order to bring that back up.
So as cortisol comes in we feel irritable.
We could feel anxious.
Our heart could be racing.
We have poor concentration.
Mood changes.
And we basically, our energy slumps as well.
Secondly, sugar creates a lot of inflammation.
Inflammation caused by sugar is mostly seen from the gut.
And inflammation is seen as the biggest disruptor
of mental health as well and our mood.
And thirdly, it messes with our hormones.
So if cortisol is being used
to keep your blood sugar levels balanced,
then it's impacting other hormone levels
and the balance of our other hormones,
such as progesterone.
Progesterone being a hormone for fertility,
but equally as important
because progesterone is our kind of
natural antianxiety, antidepressant in our body.
That's the impact of sugar on our hormones,
on our brain,
and inflammation in the body,
which is all disrupting our mood
and causing us to just kind of fly off the handle.
So what can you do?
The main things that you can do is reduce sugars.
And that may seem really hard to do initially,
so what I recommend is to crowd out
the sugars from your diet with whole foods.
Having regular meals is super key
to bring down your cravings for sugar
and prevent those sugar level highs and lows.
It's in those highs and lows
that you're getting the cravings for sugar
because your body wants a quick hit of energy again
or a quick hit of sugar.
So even if you just ate every three to four hours,
that alone will reduce your cravings.
So making sure you have breakfast,
have a mid-morning snack,
lunch, mid-afternoon snack, and dinner.
And do not go longer than four hours between a meal.
And then try to reduce your obvious sugars.
Things like your chocolates, your biscuits, your cakes.
Lollies, ice creams, et cetera.
And that will make a difference to your mood
so you feel calmer and more on top of things.
Now if you are burnt out,
if you are tired all the time,
if you're stressed and anxious
and you're struggling to shift weight
no matter what you've tried,
I am running an online workshop this week.
It's free to join

what are the steps that you can take.
I've just been cut off.
Sorry about that.

Thai customs and traditions: 13 rules that you need to know! - Duration: 13:59.
Welcome to the fifty-first video of Bangkok Unmasked!
The YouTube channel that helps you get the most out of your visit to Bangkok city!
If you're new here, please consider subscribing!
In this video I'm going to introduce you to 13 Thai customs and traditions that you need
to know.
So why is this information important?
When we live in a clan, tribe, group or a society we have to follow some set of rules,
principles, policies or laws which becomes customs.
I firmly believe that if you want to fit in, and make real friends during your visit to
Thailand, it's important to understand the local customs and traditions.
If possible, one should try to adapt accordingly.
A good number of the Thai customs and traditions which I'm going to discuss came as a complete
surprise to me.
I hope that this information makes your holiday, business trip or adventures in Thailand easier.
My first couple of years in Thailand were great.
That said, they would have been much easier if I had known all this stuff before I got
off the plane!
Let's get started!
Thai customs and traditions #1.
The body.
The Thai place great importance and significance to certain parts of the body.
The head is seen as the most spiritual part of the body.
You should never touch a person's head.
Note.
This goes for children too.
An affectionate ruffling of a child's hair might cause offence to Thai parents.
Most Thai are not touchy-feely.
Not at all in fact!
It's not common to see Thai couples holding hands or hugging in public.
Kissing and other public displays of affection are an absolute no-no.
The feet are seen as dirty and symbolically low.
You should never touch somebody or something with your foot.
When sitting try to sit with the sole of your foot pointing outwards.
The main point here is to avoid pointing your foot at a person, or especially any Buddhist
image.
Absolute no-no's are also to hold doors open with your feet, pushing a bag along with your
feet, or otherwise using your feet in place of your hands.
Pointing with a finger is also seen as impolite, as is beckoning somebody with a crooked finger.
The Thai will often use their lips to point, pushing out the lips to indicate a direction. Like that.
Alternatively, use the whole hand, with the fingers outstretched, to a point.
To beckon somebody, the palm should be face down with all fingers extended and the action
from the wrist...And you can beckon a taxi like this...
Thai customs and traditions #2.
Sexual Tolerance.
Thailand has long enjoyed a reputation for sexual tolerance, based more on non-confrontational
[rather than progressive] attitudes.
The country is very safe for LGBT travelers.
Transsexuals, also known as kathoeys or ladyboys, are highly visible in mainstream society,
from scantily clad teens to high-profile celebrities.
There is, of course, a caveat.
While there is sexual tolerance in Thailand this will quickly evaporate if, as mentioned
before, public displays of affection are overtly visible.
Do whatever you want, within reason, behind closed doors.
Do it in public and things will likely go sideways very quickly!
Thai customs and traditions #3.
Beware the 'Thai smile'.
Many new visitors to Thailand believe that it's a warm, happy, and welcoming nation because
of the constant smiles.
Indeed, the Tourism Authority of Thailand leveraged this fact to create the slogan 'land
of smiles' back in the 1980s.
However, Thai smiles don't always show happiness.
In many instances, they're used as a mask.
This is not to detract from the fact that most Thai are kind, welcoming, and
all round good people.
I do though want to emphasize that a smile may not be what you think it is.
From my experience, in Thailand situations quickly go from smiles to extreme violence very
quickly.
This often leaves foreigners extremely confused as how they were misunderstanding the smile.
I will do a video on this in the near future.
Thai customs and traditions #4.
"Yes" and "no" don't always mean what you think they do.
If a Thai person says no outright, it means a firm no.
However, yes doesn't always mean yes.
The Thai generally don't like letting others down and will often agree to things even if
they don't want to, or even have no intention to, follow through on what they have agreed
upon.
To say that this can be frustrating is an understatement.
Note.
It's rare for a Thai person to admit to not knowing something.
If for example, you're asking for directions, don't expect the directions to be correct.
Then there's the Thai custom of kreng jai [เกรงใจ] which is somewhat related.
To discuss this is a YouTube video in itself.
Briefly, it's customary to be 'kreng jai' i.e. to be considerate, and not inconvenience
someone else.
Many Thai though often take kreng jai to great extremes, and it can lead to some truly crazy
situations.
One common example is where a group of Thai knows that a senior is talking nonsense, but
they don't or can't call them out on it due to kreng jai.
This often leads to people feeling obligated to follow through on instructions that they
know are ridiculous.
Thai customs and traditions #5.
Family comes first.
Family pretty much always comes first in Thailand.
Also, a much greater emphasis is placed on the extended family than in most western countries.
In Thailand, it's normal for extended families to live close to each other.
It's also very common for children to be raised by grandparents or aunts and uncles if their
parents need to work elsewhere.
Younger members of the family are expected to help take care of older members.
This is often financially, or by doing a range of chores.
Note.
It's very common when speaking Thai to also use family terms such as "brother", "sister",
"aunt", "uncle", "mother" and "father" as personal pronouns.
This can often apply to strangers where there is no blood relation to them at all.
One other note.
The Thai-Chinese differ from the Thai in so far as they often have a rigid family hierarchy.
Each member of the family has a specific name which depends on their age, and where they
are in the family in relation to the other members.
Thai customs and traditions #6.
Mai bpen rai.
A common phrase heard in Thailand is 'mai bpen rai'.
This roughly translates to 'no problem', or 'never mind'.
Foreigners often misinterpret the phrase and incorrectly assume that the Thai don't ever
take offense or take things too seriously.
To believe this is grossly misunderstanding the Thai.
They often do care but have been conditioned to respond in such a way.
The Thai rarely display negative emotions.
Anger, tantrums, and public crying are uncommon.
This, however, doesn't mean they aren't displayed in private, or that the emotions aren't there.
It simply means that a person doesn't want to lose face by showing their feelings in
public.
Thai customs and traditions #7.
Social status is important.
As an outsider, this point is easy to miss.
Age, family connections, job, education, and income are all factors to a Thai's perceived
status in society.
When the Thai meet, they will perform different versions of the greeting, or wai, depending
on a person's status.
There are social rules concerning who should offer the first wai.
Note.
When socializing and a bill is presented, it's traditional for the person of the highest
social status, generally, the highest earner, to pay.
The Thai also have words that indicate a person's age.
'Pee' is used before an older person's name to show respect.
'Nong' is used for somebody younger than them.
With this said, it's possible for a younger person to be referred to as 'Pee' if they
have a higher social status.
Frankly, it can become very confusing in certain social situations!
Thai customs and traditions #8.
Easy ways to show respect.
The use of language and the wai are a couple of ways for the Thai to show respect.
There are a couple of easy things that foreigners should do in social situations to show respect.
Number 1.
Bring a small gift when you visit someone.
Especially at their home.
It doesn't have to be something expensive.
Food is a very standard gift.
Some decent fruit, or possibly a Western food product that they might like will work.
Number 2.
Always remove your shoes before entering a home.
It's a major sign of disrespect to not do so.
Thai customs and traditions #9.
'Loss of face'.
As most are aware, shaming a Thai [especially publicly] will cause a 'loss of face'.
If I was you, I'd avoid making a Thai lose face.
Unless this can't be avoided.
It's not uncommon for Thai people, particularly in rural areas, to deal with perceived injustices
outside of legal frameworks.
Acts of extreme violence have been committed due to 'loss of face'.
In some cases, it won't simply be one individual getting involved.
Families, groups of friends, or even entire communities may administer punishment as they
see fit.
Thai customs and traditions #10.
Patriotism.
Thai society has three pillars; nation, monarchy, and religion.
National pride is a huge part of the Thai psyche.
Most Thai will proudly tell you that they're the only nation in Southeast Asia to have
never been colonized.
Frankly, in my opinion, this point is debatable.
However, it's a long conversation for another YouTube video.
In many places throughout the country, the national anthem will be played twice a day.
It's expected that people will stop and stand until the song has finished.
The King's anthem is also played before a movie starts at the cinema.
Again, you must stand for this.
Thai customs and traditions #11.
Thai religion is somewhat unique.
Thailand is a Buddhist country.
Specifically, Theravada Buddhism.
However, the religion practiced in Thailand is somewhat different to other Buddhist nations.
Thai Buddhism has been infused with many outside elements.
Specifically, Hindu practices and traditional Chinese beliefs.
Animist beliefs also play a large role in making Thai Buddhism what it is today.
While in Thailand you'll notice that many Thai people wear amulets or carry talismans.
This is despite Buddhism prohibiting attachment to material objects.
Belief in ghosts and spirits is also strong in Thailand.
This stems from traditional Animist beliefs.
Most Thai houses and office buildings will have spirit houses for example.
Thai customs and traditions #12.
Superstitions.
To say that superstitions are rife is something of an understatement.
Many superstitions are connected to the belief of ghosts and spirits, and they really do
drive most critical life decisions.
It's customary for people to consult a fortune teller or monk for an auspicious date before
arranging a wedding, buying a home, or test driving a car.
As an aside my marriage date, 13 years ago, was determined by my mother-in-laws visit
to a monk in Singburri!
The tradition of giving newborn babies a nickname originated from a desire to trick malevolent
spirits who may want to steal the baby away.
Traditionally, people avoided complimenting parents on their new baby too, fearing making
the child seem too desirable to the spirits.
There are also superstitions related not being able to attend a wedding if you have had a
recent death in the family.
Plus, ghosts telling you winning lottery numbers, and more.
Thai customs and traditions #13.
Monks are highly respected.
While in Thailand you're sure to see plenty of monks.
They're pretty much everywhere.
Monks are highly revered and respected in Thai culture and disrespecting a monk is a
huge no-no.
Monks generally get designated seats on public transport, and people should always give up
their seat to a monk if no other seat is available.
Women should be especially careful of their actions around monks.
Touching a monk is a big no-no.
Also, women must not directly hand things to them.
Any offerings should be placed on a monk's dish, rather than into their hands.
Women also mustn't sit next to a monk, or their belongings.
If you act inappropriately around a monk in Thailand, you can be sure that all the Thai
around you will quickly point out your errors with great disapproval.
In general, the Thai are generally pretty tolerant and understanding that foreign visitors
will sometimes make mistakes.
As long as it's not something major, like showing disrespect to the religion or monarchy,
yelling in public, or walking around semi-naked, most Thai will simply overlook cultural differences.

So tired and can't sleep - Duration: 7:00.
- Hey guys, Vesna here
and I want to talk about if you're tried all day
and then it comes to nighttime and you can't sleep.
Maybe you find it hard to fall asleep
or maybe you're waking up randomly at like 2 or 3 am
and you can't get back to sleep.
Or what's even more annoying is that you fall back to sleep
at about 5 am, you get one hour
and then you feel even more tired after you wake up
at about six.
So, if this is you, if you're feeling tired all day
but can't get to sleep at night
and I know how frustrating that is,
then I want to talk about what is actually going on there
and what you can do about it.
So first of all I know
that you probably tried different things like,
I don't know, maybe you've different herbal medicines
like valerian or some magnesium to help you
to get to sleep earlier.
Maybe you've tried to go to bed earlier as well
and none of that is making a difference.
Okay, so the reason why we don't fall asleep
or we wake up randomly in the middle of the night
can be due to a number of different things.
One of the biggest things that I see
in the work that I do with women with adrenal fatigue
and burnout and stress is that,
stress and our stress hormones
are the things that are waking us up at 2-3 am
in the morning.
If you've had a really busy day,
if it's been really hectic,
especially for women with anxiety and overwhelm
if you've had a full on day and you've had a lot of stuff
going on in your head you'll find it's really common
to find that in the nighttime
that you're waking up at that 2 - 3 am
and what's actually happening
is that our stress hormones through the day,
our cortisol which is our main stress hormone
will have this rebound effect at night okay?
And so what happens is it interrupts our melatonin
which is our sleep hormone
and so therefore cortisol should be low
and melatonin should be high
but what's happening at that 2-3 am mark
is it's doing a flip.
And so cortisol is jumping back up
and melatonin is dropping down
and so therefore it's waking you up
and preventing you from falling back to sleep.
One of the other biggest things that I see again,
it can be stress related
is a fluctuation in blood sugar levels.
So if your sugar levels drop during the night
that is definitely going to wake you up
and so a lot of the time when we're stressed,
when we're anxious, when we've got a lot on,
it can mess with our blood glucose balance.
Okay, so that's another thing.
The other things that I see is overactive thyroid
can wake you up in the middle of the night,
a drop in progesterone.
So again, really common.
If we've got lots of stress and oestrogen dominance
then our progesterone tends to be lower
and that can be another thing that wakes women up
around that time in our cycle.
And another one is digital overdosing.
So I was staying in an AirBnB just recently
and they had the WiFi right near my head
and I couldn't sleep at all,
it was just buzzing through me.
So definitely if you're on the technology,
if you're on the digital,
digital products during the night
or even too much during the day
that is definitely going to overstimulate
your brain and it's going be hard
for you to fall asleep at night.
These are the things that I recommend.
It is so important to get a proper night's sleep.
They found that anything less
than seven hours of sleep a night
has shown to impact health
and make us more susceptible to illness.
And the reason being is that when we're sleeping,
our body goes into a relaxation response.
It goes into what's called
the parasympathetic nervous system response.
That's basically our rest and our repair.
So if we're not getting enough rest and repair time
then we're going to be more susceptible to illness.
Okay so this is our time when our self healing systems
are switched back on
and if we don't get enough time in rest and repair
it will impact our immune system,
it will impact our reproductive system,
our hormones, our mental health,
our quality of life, everything!
So here is a short term solution.
So if stress is definitely a factor for you
I would say address that
and look at a proper, kind of like an adrenal reset plan
which I'll talk more about.
But in a short term solution,
just that you can do in the next few days is to,
studies have shown that if you do activity, exercise,
even if it's walking, even if it's yoga, Pilates,
cleaning the house, any kind of activity that's
kind of getting your heart rate up
is enough to help you to have a better night's sleep okay?
So activity during the day will help you
to have a better night's sleep.
The other thing that they've found in studies is that
if you go out into nature
for about 20 or 30 minutes during the day
you'll actually have a better night's sleep
and all of that is impacting our cortisol levels.
So our stress hormone levels.
So if you're working in an office
and you're kind of around computers all day,
try to get outside.
Even if there's a park around you somewhere.
It's really just being around trees and grass
and greenery that actually stimulates
a reduction in our stress and our cortisol,
helping us to have a better night's sleep.
So definitely do that.
Do some activity, go for a walk during the day where you can
but really kind of, either do one of those two things
during the day.
The other thing is if you've got a really overactive mind,
so if you find that come night time
that your mind is buzzing and you've got your to-do list
going off in your head, you can't shut if off,
you're kind of, you know,
going through the events of the day
then a really great herb that I recommend is Rhodiola.
Rhodiola is a herb which helps with
relaxation, it helps with stress,
it helps to give us energy,
helps us to adapt to stress.
It's really good for the immune system too.
But it's really good for people
who have a really overactive mind.
So you take that during the day
and that will help you to have a better night's sleep.
So first one being exercise and getting out to nature,
second one being Rhodiola.
If you feel tired and wired,
if you're waking up during the night
but you also feel anxious during the day,
if you're overwhelmed,
if you're exhausted all the time
so it doesn't matter how much sleep you get,
you still always feel tired.
Then there could be more going on there
that needs to be addressed and needs to be looked at.
I'm running a workshop this week
where I'm going to talk a lot more about that.
How those symptoms are all related okay,
and how they're related to adrenal fatigue
and I'm also going to show you what you can do,
the steps that you can take
to get your energy back,
to get your mojo back, to have a better sleep,
to shift unwanted kilos and all of those things.
Plus on the workshop, it's free to join,
I'm going to put a link above or below this video.
Plus on the webinar I'm going to give you
a '7-Day Energy Reboot Kit'.
So this is exactly what I give to my clients
in the first week to shift their energy
and to elevate their mood.
So you'll get that on the workshop
and the other thing
is once you sign up, I'm actually going to give you
an 'Energy Assessment' too.
So really kind of show where you are
along the energy spectrum.
So, if that's you, if you're anxious, overwhelmed,
stressed, can't lose weight.
You know, have your moods really low,
anxiety et cetera, come and join us on the workshop
It's free to join
and we're going to talk a lot more about that
and what you can do.
Hope to see you there.
Bye for now.

Texas GOP Tried to Shame Democrat Rep. Beto O'Rourke with Old Photos — But It Backfired - News Today - Duration: 5:02.
Normally, digging into a politician's past can ruin their career, but for Rep. Beto O'Rourke, it skyrocketed him to national attention for being totally cool
O'Rourke, 41, a Democrat, is running for Republican Ted Cruz's Senate seat, and in an effort to discredit him, the Texas GOP tweeted out multiple throwback photos of the El Paso native on Tuesday
In the first, a younger O'Rourke holds a skateboard. The next is a group shot of O'Rourke's former punk rock band, Foss, and the last is his mugshot
The Texas GOP sent the images into the Twittersphere as retaliation for O'Rourke refusing to debate Cruz this Friday, as shown in the captions
"Sorry, can't debate. We have a gig," one reads. Another states, "Sorry, I'm going to have to skate on the debate on Friday
I just got the killer board. I'm sure the voters won't mind." According to Vox
com, O'Rourke was arrested twice in his 20s — once for jumping a fence at University of Texas's El Paso campus and a misdemeanor drunk driving arrest — but never convicted
The House rep for Texas' 16th congressional district addressed his conflicts with law enforcement in 2017, telling a local paper, "Both incidents were due to poor judgment and I have no excuse for my behavior then
However, since then, I have used my opportunities to serve my community and my state
I'm grateful for the second chance and believe that we all deserve second chances
" Soon after, Twitter users started questioning the GOP's logic when sharing the images — because what's really that shameful about being in a rock band? "This makes me like him more," one person wrote
"We need elected officials who've lived life, who aren't walking corpses in suits
" Another even replied with footage of O'Rourke playing the guitar in 1994. The incumbent's ability to make friends and preferred social activities were also called into question
Meanwhile, O'Rourke's mugshot had people doing a double-take. At this stage in his campaign, O'Rourke is no stranger to going viral
Last week, a speech he gave at a town hall advocating in favor of 2017's NFL protests garnered more than 200,000 retweets on NowThis's page
"Peaceful, nonviolent protests, including taking a knee at a football game to point out that black men, unarmed, black teenagers, unarmed, and black children, unarmed, are being killed at a frightening level right now, including by members of law enforcement, without accountability, and without justice," O'Rourke said to applause from the audience
"And this problem — as grave as it is — is not going to fix itself," he continued
"They're frustrated, frankly, with people like me and those in positions of public trust and power, who have been unable to resolve this or bring justice for what has been done and to stop it from continuing to happen in this country," he continued
O'Rourke added, "And so nonviolently, peacefully, while the eyes of this country are watching these games, they take a knee to bring our attention and our focus to this problem to ensure that we fix it," he concluded
"That is why they are doing it. And I can think of nothing more American than to peacefully stand up, or take a knee, for your rights, anytime, anywhere, in any place
"

Mind as Medicine For Chronic Tiredness - Duration: 5:17.
- Hey everyone, it's Vesna here.
And I want to talk about, are your thoughts
making you tired, or how much does our thinking
affect our energy levels, and how much can it
create fatigue and chronic tiredness in our body?
So often, we look at food and exercise
as the things to tweak in order to get more energy.
And it's certainly what we're taught.
It's certainly what I talk a lot about, as well.
But there's another really key piece,
and it's our mindset.
And a favorite quote of mine is by Caroline Myss,
who is a medical intuitive with 93% accuracy.
And she sums it up in one awesome quote.
And she says, "You can be a vegetarian
"and run six miles per day, but if you are in an abusive
"relationship or hate your job or have daily fights
"with your parents or your partner,
"you are losing energy, and you will get sick.
"On the other hand, if you call back
"your energy from negative beliefs,
"you can eat cat food and stay healthy".
So, that's actually one of my favorite quotes.
I used to put it in my workshop all the time,
and the reason being is that because we need
to look at that other aspect of holistic health,
which is certainly our thoughts,
because our thoughts have the impact
to change our body and our biochemistry.
And how do we know this?
We know this scientifically because it's been proven
or been proven since the 1960s.
And it's been proven through the placebo effect.
So, placebo effect is basically,
during medical drug trials, the medicine is tested
against a placebo, which is a sugar pill
or a saline solution or even a fake surgery.
And what they find is that people on the placebo medicine
are actually getting better, as well.
So what's actually happening there is that people
are believing that they're taking a medicine.
And therefore, they actually initiate
through that belief the self-healing process
that happens within the body.
Another really good example I want to share is
a study done with hotel room attendants.
So, they basically took 84 hotel room attendants,
and they sat them down and asked them
how much exercise they were doing.
And they all said they're not doing any exercise.
Because they didn't class cleaning
hotel rooms as exercise.
So, what the researchers did is that
they divided the women into two groups.
And the first group, they told the women
that cleaning hotel rooms is actually really good exercise.
And the second group, they told them nothing.
And so what they did after four weeks,
these women didn't change their routine in any way.
They continued to do the same thing.
And what they found is after four weeks,
the first group that had been told about the benefits
of cleaning hotel rooms as exercise,
they had actually lost weight, their body fat came down,
their hip-to-waist ratio reduced, their BMI came down,
and their blood pressure reduced.
They didn't change anything.
They just were told the benefits the hotel room cleaning
had on their body, and they actually had
the markers change in their body & biochemistry.
And for the second group, there were no changes.
And so it really shows you the power
of belief and your thinking,
has on our body.
On the weekend, I went out on a hike.
I went on a really long hike,
and there was a woman there on the hike,
and she said she'd been to a naturopath.
She didn't know why, because she felt pretty good anyway.
And then she discovered that her thyroid was low.
She was hypothyroid.
And she goes, "I feel so good, though.
"I don't understand, I don't have any of the symptoms."
She wasn't gaining weight, she wasn't tried,
she did ultramarathons, she was super fit.
And she goes, "I don't have any of those symptoms,
"but yet my thyroid is underactive."
And I talked to her about her mindset.
Because she was a really positive person,
and she was really driven, and she was a high achiever.
And she really had this positive mindset.
And she said, "My thyroid can't be underactive,
"because I just feel so good."
It was almost like she wouldn't allow that to be a thing.
Okay?
And so I really want to bring this point
across to you guys that if you've been struggling,
if you've been eating the right foods
and doing the right things and still feel chronically tired,
then pay attention to your thinking, okay?
And pay attention to the worries that you have.
A lot of the stuff that I hear from women in my community
is that they don't feel like they're doing enough
during the day, and then they feel like
they're doing too much and maybe
neglecting the needs of their family.
They're worried about their kids.
Women are worried about their businesses.
And all this stuff is burning through
our physical energy in our body.
So, if you want to know more, if you're tired all the time
and you feel really flat, like there's no joy in your life,
and you feel that there must be something
that you can do, then I'm going to talk
about this in a workshop this week.
It's called 'Conquer Fatigue, Low Mood,
and Unexplained Weight Gain Even When
You've Tried All the Right Things Before'.
It's free to join.
On the workshop, I'm also going to
give you my energy reboot kit.
So, what I'll do is I'll post the link and
details below and above this video.
And I hope to see you there.
Bye for now.

Arsenal news: Gunners fans think Aubameyang should REPLACE Cech in goal – this is why - Duration: 1:59.
After securing their first win of the season last weekend against West Ham, Arsenal are busy preparing for their Premier League clash with Cardiff on Sunday
And during a training session at London Colney this week, hitman Aubameyang decided to swap positions
Rather than practicing his shooting skills, the Gabon international decided to take his place between the sticks with brilliant results
The striker manager to make some fantastic saves and Arsenal supporters were all quick to make the same comment
"Cech replacement," one fan said. Another supporter wrote: "Bench Cech." A third fan said: "Cech is out!" Meanwhile on supporter thought Cech wasn't the only one who could lose his place in goal to Aubameyang
"Petr and Bernd have some competition," they commented. Another fan wrote: "He is better than Cech lol
" Team-mate Alexandre Lacazette has recently opened up on his relationship with Aubameyang on the pitch
"Every day, like I said, we talk, we laugh a lot, we work together when we are on the pitch," said Lacazette
"I like to be with Auba. He's a good guy. "I'm not asking the coach or telling him, 'I want to play with Auba' or something like that
"He knows we can play well together and then afterwards, he makes his decision."

What To Do When You're So Tired You Could Cry - Duration: 4:09.
- Hey guys it's Vesna here and I just thought
I'd shoot a quick video to talk about
one of the things that I hear all the time
in my workshop and even when women start my program is
that they feel so tired that they could cry sometimes.
So even though they have to push through things
and get things done, there's still that
internal extreme fatigue and exhaustion that sometimes
they feel like crying and sometimes they do cry okay
'cause they're so tired.
And so it's the kind of fatigue
that's not relieved by sleep either.
So I find for a lot of these women
that they get the rest, they get the sleep
but they wake up and still feel tired.
They'll have a weekend and still feel tired
on a Monday.
Really, sorry I can just see my connection's not that good.
I'm actually on the Gold Coast, I've just arrived
and I'll show you behind me, the nice beach.
It's a bit windy and the high rises are behind me
but it's so nice,
it's a nice change from Melbourne rain and wind, or cold.
Okay, so one of the things that is not often mentioned
but is really really important that I look at
for women in my program
is we test for the body's pH.
So looking at the body's acid to alkaline balance
and you can do that though basic blood testing
to look at when you're testing different minerals
you look at the anion gap and the anion gap
will show you the pH of your body.
So whether it's too acidic or too alkaline.
Or not too alkaline but mostly too acidic
and if it is too acidic what's going to happen
is that you're going to feel more stressed and more tired.
So, I see women who have high acidity
and they'll often say, I feel so stressed.
I shouldn't feel this stressed.
Okay, and so what happens is that when we're acidic
our cortisol levels are elevated in our body
so therefore we feel more stress.
So cortisol being the main stress hormone.
The other thing it does is it impacts our adrenals.
So our adrenals help us to adapt to stress
but it also impacts our thyroid glands
and our thyroid gland is the kind of,
the queen of our metabolism but also produces energy
and also burns body fat.
So if you're too acidic, that's going to be impacted
and then when you have a more alkaline system
your cortisol levels will drop,
your thyroid function will improve,
you'll have better sleep, you'll feel less stressed.
So one of the things that you can do to improve
the alkalinity of your body is basically you buy,
having a lot more vegetables and having a lot more water.
Also minerals will help to alkalize this system.
Okay, so normally when I see women
who have a very acidic system
I recommend lots and lots of veggies.
Okay, so veggie juices but also whole veggies okay.
So, you need to be having it at least three times a day
in order to get that amount which will alkalize tissues.
Also to do lots of water.
Looking at about three liters of water
and also different minerals will help
to alkalize the system.
So doing a combination of your essential minerals
will also help to keep the body alkaline as well.
Obviously also reducing acidic foods.
So really going for an acid alkaline balance
with your diet.
So again, that's going to happen through veggies
and not having too many acidic proteins.
Like a lot of meats will tend to be more acid forming
and grains as well.
Okay so that's kind of really what I wanted to drop in
and talk about was if you're feeling really tired
that you could cry, if you feel stressed all the time,
maybe look at acid alkaline balance
or the pH of your tissues.
If you want to know more, if you feel tired all the time,
your mood is up and down, you're irritable,
you've got a low mood, you're anxious,
you've got metabolic issues where you can't lose weight,
I'm doing a workshop.
It's a free online workshop where I'm going to talk about
the steps that you need to take
in order to overcome fatigue,
bring your mood back up, feel much more on top of things
and shift the unwanted kilos
that probably haven't been able to budge for years.
Okay so I'm going to put a link above and below this video.
Sorry, I think the reception's not so good
where I've been here but I'll put a link
above and below this video.
So come and join me this week, bye for now.
