Turtles live a ridiculously long time.

The oldest known turtle—a Seychelles giant tortoise named Jonathan — is 186 years old and still kicking!

Galapagos tortoises have produced healthy, viable young past their 80th birthday.

And even smaller species can live for half a century, as long as they aren't eaten or run over first.

Scientists aren't 100% sure how these animals live so long — but a lot of it seems to

boil down to preventing wear and tear to the body.

In most species, including ours, the odds of dying go up as you get older.

That's because our bodies just kind of deteriorate over time.

Like any machine, parts slowly wear down, and that eventually leads to some kind of catastrophic failure.

But that's not always the case in turtles — in some, being old means they're less likely to croak.

And they can even still have healthy offspring.

This ability to stay alive and have healthy babies despite being old is called negligible senescence.

And though some of the details are still unclear, it seems turtles pull this off thanks to a

remarkable tolerance for oxidative stress.

That's the harm to cells that happens due to reactive oxygen species or ROS: a family

of oxygen-containing compounds that really, really like interacting with other molecules.

The accumulation of this damage, especially to neurons and immune cells, is thought to drive aging.

But reactive oxygen species aren't evil — they're produced all the time, like

in the calorie-burning process that turns food into cellular fuel.

So the key is not getting rid of ROSs, but keeping them under control.

One of the ways turtles do that is by producing less of them.

They have a slow metabolism, which means they need fewer calories than other animals of similar size.

It also helps that they're poikilothermic: their bodies can function at a wide range of temperatures.

So they're not as stressed by cold or hot temperatures as we are—and less stress means less ROS.

They also have ways to manage the ROS they do produce.

Since these compounds can damage telomeres — the protective caps of DNA that shorten

every time a cell divides — turtles produce lots of the enzyme telomerase, which helps prevent that shortening.

And that helps keep their cells healthier longer, lessening their odds of developing cancer or other diseases.

They also make lots of strong antioxidants and other proteins that fight cellular damage.

While these traits might seem like the perfect adaptations for a long and healthy life, biologists

think they arose for another reason: surviving without oxygen.

Many turtles, including those cute red-eared sliders you might have seen in pet stores,

can go weeks without breathing air — a handy trick if you want to spend the winter in an icy pond.

They have special ways of keeping important tissues alive during that time, like shutting down oxygen-hungry neural circuits.

But they also have to deal with the burst of ROS production that happens when they finally

come up for air and oxygen levels rapidly rise — which is where those antioxidants

and cell-healing proteins come into play.

So their longevity might be a happy side effect — one that some researchers are hoping to

translate into longer, perhaps even indefinite lives for people.

But... we can't really replicate all of their tricks, like becoming poikilothermic.

So while studying turtles may help us maintain fitness in later years, if you're hoping

they hold the secrets to immortality… well, I wouldn't hold your breath.

Most Brutal Gangs in History of Mankind - Duration: 7:40.

Before we start the show, we should explain exactly what we mean by brutal gangs.

It would be hard to call the Italian or Russian mafia or the Japanese Yakuza a gang, as such

criminal organizations cover many parts of the globe and have done so for generations.

Even gangs such as the "Crips" in the USA, that date back to 1969, have various

offshoots or "sets", so it's difficult to talk about the Crips or their longtime

rivals the "Bloods" in terms of one gang.

Today we'll try and focus on smaller, more local gangs, and discuss the trail of blood

they have left behind.

So, without further ado, welcome to this episode of the Infographics Show, Most Brutal Gangs

in History.

We'll start with some gangs from a long time ago, and while they may not have huge

body counts to their name, they were met with much fear.

You could even say they've been exalted in modern times, having been the focus of

films and TV series – not always accurately we might add.

Another thing we'd like to do is move around the globe in this show, and while Mexican

gangs and white supremacist gangs in the USA alone have been known to be extremely violent

at times, we just can't include them all.

And as we said, we're reluctant to use the word gang to describe international crime

syndicates like Mara Salvatrucha (or MS-13), Russian-based Solntsevskaya Bratva, Chinese

Triads, the 18th street, the Hells Angels, or the Aryan Brotherhood.

These are more like global corporations, and so in no way can you compare one faction in

one country to another faction in another country.

They have similar laws and allegiances but are not one gang.

The Peaky Blinders Yep, you've likely heard of these Birmingham

boys because you've seen the popular show on TV.

They were very much real, but perhaps not as violent as the show depicts.

Said to have been very well-dressed, these angry fops plagued the slums of middle England

from the around the 1890s to the 1930s.

They were called the Peaky Blinders because they would thread razor blades into their

flat caps and use the caps as weapons to slash faces or perhaps blind someone.

While the show depicts them as sometimes decent men just getting by in the slums of England,

it's thought they were mostly brutal hoodlums that stole land, smuggled goods, offered dubious

protection, and mugged and beat people on the streets when they felt like it.

Five Points Gang The area known as the Five Points in New York

is notorious for gangs, from the Bowery Boys to the Dead Rabbits; names you might remember

from the movie "Gangs of New York".

These two gangs in themselves were deadly, but what would later come would be much worse.

These were Italian immigrants that formed a crew called the Five Points Gang, although

later their control would be superseded by the criminal syndicate known as the Italian

Mafia.

Prior to that these guys had all kinds of rackets going on, and they were not afraid

to shed blood – far from it.

You may have heard of two of the most famous members of the gang: Al Capone and Lucky Luciano.

Mighty Mongrel Mob This New Zealand gang goes back to the 1960s

and is made up of mostly Māori members.

They are the largest gang in the country, but we cheated a little here because they

are spread out over New Zealand and are not really one single gang.

Often thought of as a peaceful land of wonder where Peter Jackson created the world of Lord

of the Rings, New Zealand actually has a huge number of violent gangs.

But what do the Mighty Mongrels do?

Well, things that gangs generally do: deal in drugs, guns, protection, and kill people.

Gang documentary maker Ross Kemp said some of the Mongrel Mob were good to him when he

visited them, later stating, "I don't think the Mongrel Mob is on a par with MS-13 or

18th Street in El Salvador."

Bra Boys Ok, so we could have talked about one of Australia's

many biker gangs such as the Bandidos, but again, that gang is global and wasn't started

in Australia.

In fact, it's said the gang works in 22 nations and has 22 chapters.

Why is Australia so tempting for international gangs?

It might have a lot to do with a gram of cocaine going for a whopping $260 U.S. on the streets

in some areas.

Nope, the gangs certainly don't want that to change nor do they want drugs decriminalized.

But, let's downscale a little bit.

The Bra Boys are unlike other gangs in that they were formed mainly by surfers in the

beachside area of Maroubra in Sydney.

They've been tied to murders, heaven knows how much violence, and of course that lucrative

cocaine trade.

But they've also started a clothing label and been involved with community activism.

Ok, they are not the deadliest gang, but they are interesting.

The Richardson Gang England has had many famous gangs.

We might remember the "The Sheffield Gang Wars" or look at how many gangs in Liverpool

fight over the heroin trade there today.

Or all the gangs in the 90s in Manchester, then nicknamed Gun-chester.

But we can't do this show without talking about one of those London gangs that the British

film industry has been exploiting for years and years.

Who was the worst of those gangs?

That's impossible to say, but one of the most infamous is certainly the Richardson

gang, started by Charlie and Eddie Richardson in the 1960s in the East End of London.

The sadistic Richardsons had a penchant for torture (they were sometimes called The Torture

Gang), pulling out people's teeth for fun and cutting off various parts of enemy's

bodies.

You might even know one of their biggest enemies: The Kray Twins.

Medellin Cartel Despite a large number of guns-for-hire and

strongmen on the payroll, the actual number of cartel members wasn't very high at all,

so we think we can call them a close gang.

The group was the work of the notorious Pablo Escobar, who brought huge amounts of cocaine

to the USA in the 70s and 80s after he murdered fellow cocaine kingpin Fabio Restrepo.

"Pablo Escobar was responsible for the killing of thousands of people, including politicians,

civil servants, journalists and ordinary citizens," writes Biography.com, and it's believed

some of his victims were cut apart with chainsaws.

This dedicated family man and brutal killer had more money than anyone could ever imagine,

but he would die on a rooftop after being gunned down by the Colombian police.

Despite his legacy of torture and murder, 25,000 people showed up to his funeral, calling

him a saint, the man who built houses for the poor, a real Robin Hood of Colombia.

Primeiro Comando da Capital This gang is called the "First Command of

the Capital" in English, and again, while we can't really call it a proper gang in

that it's members are all connected, it does seem to only operate inside Brazil, mainly

in São Paulo.

The gang, now with about 20,000 members in Brazil, started off with just a few guys that

met in prison in 1993.

They seem to enjoy attacking, and sometimes killing, police.

But they can also be quite indiscriminate in their murdering.

Los Zetas This Mexican cartel might be breaking the

rules again as it's not just one gang of people.

But it's leading members (many of those are now in prison or dead) are a small group,

often hiring mercenaries from the military to do their dirty work.

These soldiers are often not gang members.

So, it's much more of a closed gang than something like 18th Street, that would give

any thug from the streets membership.

Los Zetas is perhaps the most feared gang, taking over where the Sinaloa Cartel left

a space.

They deal in extreme violence, execution style murders and beheadings, and it's usually

over the movement of narcotics.

They have police and politicians on their payroll and hold training camps for anyone

desperate enough to become a hired killer or drug trafficker.

Former leader Miguel Trevino was nicknamed "The Stew" (El Guiso), apparently because

he would boil some of his victims alive in hot oil.

Yep, those Mexican gangs are brutal, if not medieval.

Flaying their enemies faces is a hobby of theirs, including the removal of eyes.

Don't look for that online.

In one instance a man's face was peeled off, stitched to a football, and then his

head and severed limbs were sent to members of another cartel.

On the football was a note, "Happy New Year, because this will be your last."

We can't really top that in terms of brutality.

How A Tick Bite Can Make You Allergic To Red Meat - Duration: 5:44.

Narrator: Imagine that you're a red-blooded carnivore.

You love burgers, steak, pork chops, bacon.

But one day, out of nowhere, red meat starts to make

you physically sick to the stomach.

It sounds like science fiction, but it's real,

and it's spreading.

It's spreading to people like Amy.

Amy: My name is Amy Pearl, and I'm a producer for WNYC.

Narrator: She has what is called

a mammalian meat allergy.

Amy: I have a tendency to not mention it at restaurants,

because I feel like if you say to a server,

I'm allergic to meat, they're gonna be like,

I'm spitting in your food.

Narrator: Any meat that came from a cow,

a pig, or a lamb, will make Amy sick.

Very, very sick.

Amy: Like I just had hives on my hands and my feet,

and like all over my torso.

I was nauseous, and I felt like I was fainting,

I felt like the world was ending,

I felt like I was gonna pass out

and I couldn't really breathe.

Narrator: Thousands of Americans are suffering like Amy,

but until 2009, this sort of allergy went undiagnosed.

Amy: I think I made an appointment

with my regular physician, but he immediately was like,

there's no such thing as a meat allergy,

has to be something else.

Narrator: That changed with the cancer drug, Cetuximab.

In a clinical trial, one in four patients developed

severe allergic reactions to the drug.

Some even died.

Naturally, Cetuximab was investigated.

University of Virginia's allergy department focused

on one specific part of the drug.

The key ingredient in Cetuximab is a specific carbohydrate

that all non-primate mammals carry in their cell walls

and tissues, Galactose-alpha-1,3-galactose,

or, if you're pressed for time, alpha-gal.

Dogs have it, cats have it, and the mice cells

involved in the production of Cetuximab have alpha-gal.

The team discovered that those who had reactions

were from only certain areas of the US, the southeast.

The locations of the cases aligned almost perfectly

with the range of a specific type of tick,

the lone star tick.

Dr. Scott Commins is an allergist,

and was working with the University at the time.

Scott: Over 90 to 93% of our patients

that developed allergic reactions to red meat

and test positive by blood test will have

a history of tick bites.

Amy: The thing I Googled was "sudden meat allergy."

I found an article that said there was some man

in Florida, had gone into anaphylactic shock

from eating meat after a tick bite.

And I was like, "I had a tick bite!"

I mean, I often have a tick bite.

I'd just taken a tick off me.

Narrator: One of the leading researchers,

Dr. Thomas Platts-Mills, went so far to use himself

in an unofficial experiment, taking a hike through

a nest of larval ticks.

It earned him a nice case of red meat allergy.

There's still a lot we don't know about how

this meat allergy works, but here is the leading theory.

Ticks don't have alpha-gal naturally,

but they could be carrying it if they fed off a mammal,

like a deer or a dog.

If a tick then bites you, it trades some

of your delicious blood for its saliva,

which is a cocktail of nasty things.

An enzyme in that saliva tells your body that there's

a variety of dangerous threats,

and your immune system bans everything in that saliva

from entering the body, including alpha-gal,

which is also in every burger, steak, and bacon strip.

So the next time you eat one of those,

your body treats the carbohydrate like an intruder,

and hits the panic button.

This is happening in the bodies

of an estimated 5,000 Americans.

What's worse is that the range

of the lone star tick is growing.

Scott: Their range is spreading into

the Ohio River Valley and now up into Minnesota.

We also know places where this alpha-gal red meat allergy

exists, but they don't have lone star ticks at all.

And this would be southern Sweden, for example,

there are parts of Europe, Australia,

and now even South Africa.

So clearly other tick species can do this as well.

Narrator: University of Virginia's researchers

have also linked the alpha-gal allergies

with a higher risk of heart disease.

Scott: This allergy seems as though it will often

go away over time, but the problem has been

that any additional tick bites seem

to cause the allergy to return.

And these are often patients who like to be outside.

Amy: I know that my numbers have gone down,

because I've been retested a couple of times,

but they're still 10, 20 times what they should be.

Narrator: Dr. Commins continues to work towards

an immediate cure to mammalian meat allergy.

In the meantime, the number of cases are rising.

Scott: So what we've been trying to do is work

on a vaccine related to tick saliva,

in hopes that we can prevent the allergic response

from continuing, or recurring, with additional tick bites.

Narrator: If you've been bitten by ticks recently,

be sure to get tested.

If you haven't, learn how to explore the woods safely.

Scott: Well if you haven't been bitten,

then try to stick to the trails.

If you're going into a heavy tick-infested area,

you may want to consider pre-treating your skin

or clothing with DEET or Permethrin, respectively.

Amy: People are so freaked out about ticks,

it's not that bad.

They're much easier to see than you think.

Narrator: Learn how to do a tick check

after spending time in the wilderness.

And if you value a juicy steak over a walk in nature,

then maybe stay out of the woods.

Donald Tried To Get Melania To Dump Her Anti-Bullying Campaign - Duration: 3:57.

Recently, the New York Times ran a piece about the, I guess you'd call it, a troubled marriage

between Donald Trump and Melania Trump.

But one of the things everybody kind of jumped on was the fact that oh, Melania picked out

all this furniture for the White House, but before she was able to move in, Donald Trump

switched it all with his horrible, gaudy taste in furniture because he just can't stand to

let anyone else have their way, even if it's his own wife.

That story kind of blew up over this last weekend, but what was really interesting from

the New York Times report, that isn't stupid, salacious stuff that doesn't matter ... Who

cares about the furniture, right?

Who cares about their marriage, to be honest with you.

I mean, she could hate him.

They could divorce.

That's not going to affect anything that's going on this country whatsoever, but the

piece also points out that Donald Trump did not want Melania to launch her anti-bullying

crusade.

He believed, rightfully so, that this was going to open her up for criticism.

It was going to put more attention on his horrid tweets where he goes after anyone for

their physical appearance, their IQ, you know, whatever he wants to pick on them for, and

so he didn't want her shining a big old spotlight on that.

She decided to do it anyway, and he was unhappy with this, and basically has been wanting

to shut the entire thing down since the day it started, but again, he is absolutely right

that she has come under fire for this, because she refuses to address his Twitter habits.

Donald Trump is the biggest bully in the United States, and I say biggest because he has the

loudest platform to speak from.

There is no other bully in this country who is given such a massive megaphone to spread

his message of hate, and division, and just general dislike of human beings to everyone

around the planet.

Yet, to this day, Melania has not addressed that in any of her anti-bullying speeches,

in her meetings with people, in her meetings with the tech people who came in where she

talked about cyberbullying.

He is the biggest problem that she faces, that, and of course the fact that she showed

up to meet those migrant children that have been separated from their parents wearing

a jacket that said, "I don't really care, do you?"

Yeah, this woman has zero credibility where it comes to speaking about stopping bullying

here in the United States, because not only is her husband the worst one there is, but

she is right there behind him.

I mean, people forget that Melania Trump was also a birther.

She did not believe, and to our knowledge, still doesn't believe that Barack Obama was

born here in the United States.

She jumped on that hate bandwagon, so yeah, zero credibility to go out there and talk

about bullying or being horrible to people, you know, her Be Best campaign.

If she's not even willing to be best, then how can anyone in this country expect to take

whatever horrid message she's trying to spread so they can apply it to their own lives and

be best?

As pretty much everyone in this country will explain to you, pretty much around the world

would explain to you, you want to teach people to be better, you have to lead by example.

That is something that both Melania and Donald Trump refuse to do.

That's actually why the two probably make a pretty good couple.

Regardless of these talks about how much they hate each other, dislike each other, the one

thing that binds them is the fact that they refuse to lead by example, act like grownups,

and in general behave like decent human beings.

Sneaky Ways Fast Food Restaurants Scam Us - Duration: 5:43.

It can feel like everywhere you turn, someone is trying to swindle you.

Turns out, you're not even safe in the warm, welcoming arms of your favorite burger joint.

Unfortunately, fast food restaurants are not the safe haven you might be hoping for - they've

been known to take advantage of their customers, too.

Whether it's shady business practices or misleading advertising, here are all the ways your favorite

eateries might be scamming you.

"Gee, this is pretty good."

The fry trick

It's easy to scarf down McDonald's fries, but have you ever felt like they disappeared

a little too quickly?

Your appetite might not be to blame.

Former employees of the fast food chain have alleged that employees are encouraged to pinch

the fry carton while pouring fries in, to make the box appear full when it's really

half-empty.

By the time the customer notices - if they do - they're already out of line and out the

door.

McDonald's denied any knowledge of this practice, saying,

"We believe these claims to be fictional, there are no 'secret tricks' and we have strict

operational procedures in place to ensure that fry portions are not under-filled."

But of course they'd say that.

It might be a good idea to keep an eye on those fries before you dive in next time - just

in case.

"There are several sacred things in this world that you don't ever mess with.

One of them happens to be another man's fries."

Same size, different price

Do you get the cup of soup or the bowl?

Does it matter?

They might be the same size, depending where you are - and one might cost more than the

other.

Online commenters have discussed this sneaky tactic at a number of restaurants, from local

diners to major chains, claiming that everything from sodas to soups to milkshakes can get

described misleadingly.

At one unnamed chain, a Reddit poster wrote that,

"People would pay more for a bowl, and just get a cup of soup in a bowl that was shorter

and wider at the bottom than the cup."

The way containers are designed can make it harder than it should be to compare sizes

at a glance, and it's not illegal to sell the same amount of product at varying prices

in different-sized containers.

It's just very misleading.

[Rapping] "Check my Big Cups, double up heavyweight size, fill em up and guzzle til you're satisfied."

Track your order?

Ordering pizza for delivery has never been easier.

But the technology that connects you with your dinner can be manipulated, and not in

the customer's favor.

Take the Domino's Tracker.

This webpage allows you to see the exact status of your order on its way from the kitchen

to your door - supposedly.

But employees are the ones who enter that information, and can make your order appear

to be at a different stage than it is, with pizzas being marked as dispatched to drivers

who aren't even back at the store yet.

It makes the stores' prep times more impressive, but at the cost of misleading you.

But don't give them a hard time - delivery boys have it tough enough.

"Woah, he stole that guy's pizza!"

Not what you asked for

Fast food slogans like "Have it your way" have led us to believe that the customer has

the power when they order.

But that's not always the case.

"What is - I ordered the barbeque beef!"

Anecdotes from workers of chains like Burger King have claimed that, in practice, what

you're sold is sometimes not what you get, especially if there's a chance you can't easily

tell the difference.

Stories of decaf coffee being watered-down regular coffee have circulated, despite the

fact that that's not how decaffeination works.

Full-fat mayo may be sold as light mayo, or vice versa, depending on what's cheaper - and

you may never even know.

Grill marks mean nothing

We see grill marks on our food, and we taste a distinct grilled flavor, but the grill you

see in so many kitchens is a flattop.

What gives?

Most fast food restaurants receive product from companies whose job it is to add those

grill marks, as well as flavor enhancers to make it taste like it came straight off the

barbecue.

According to Food Republic, the deceptive burger patties and chicken pieces are soaked

in a solution that includes salt, animal fats, smoke flavoring, and other preservatives before

being cooked with blasts of hot air.

After that, the not-grilled food is branded to make it appear grilled.

You have to wonder: Wouldn't it be simpler to just... actually grill?

Receipts don't add up

It can pay to be diligent about checking your meal receipts.

In 2017, a Panera Bread customer told Chicago's WGN9 that he noticed an inflated total after

one visit.

"There was an additional nine dollars in the subtotal, but there was no items in the line

items above that suggested that it should add up to that amount."

In a statement, a Panera representative said,

"We found a rare glitch in the system which resulted in the charge [...] We implemented

a change on our receipt structure which we believe has resolved this issue."

Others have since come forward with similar claims, so this glitch may not have been so

rare after all.

The bottom line is, well… always check the bottom line.

What you see, and what you get

Fast food ads know how to catch the eye.

But the letdown is immediate when what you get in real life looks nothing like the picture

promised, and that's probably never going to change.

Consumer Reports checked out seven fast food restaurants to see how the pictures on the

menus compared to what they actually ordered.

For the most part, the results were disappointing, with Subway coming in as the most misleading.

"Trimble!

Let's see ya sub!

No.

No, meat on the inside, bread on the outside."

It's extremely common stuff.

So if this is a universally recognized problem, why can't we expect a change?

Isn't it false advertising?

Unfortunately, not really.

According to a spokesperson for the Federal Trade Commission,

"Truth-in-advertising laws do apply when restaurants show menu items in print and television ads

[…] but the FTC hasn't pursued any cases alleging that food ads are deceptive based

on photos."

Apparently, the government isn't likely to take law enforcement action, quote, "in cases

where consumers can easily evaluate the product, it's inexpensive, and it's frequently purchased."

Sounds like we're all better off just adjusting our expectations - and maybe making our own

food, too.

Nasty Fans Mock Cheerleader With Down Syndrome, Then Basketball Players Stop The Game

A hero is someone admired for their courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities.

We often think of soldiers, police, or firefighters as heroes, but sometimes it only takes a small

– but courageous – act to make someone a hero in someone else's eyes.

That's what three middle school basketball players are to Desiree Andrews.

The 14-year-old is a cheerleader at Lincoln Middle School in Kenosha, Wisconsin.

She is just like every other cheerleader on the squad except for one thing: Desiree has

Down Syndrome.

Despite having what some might describe as a "disability," Desiree has never let

Down Syndrome keep her from doing the things she loves.

She was inspired to try out for the cheerleading team after watching an episode of the television

show Glee.

"They have a character with Down syndrome who is a cheerleader," Desiree's father,

Cliff Andrews, said.

"And she said, 'If she can be a cheerleader, I can be a cheerleader.'"

Desiree has always felt supported and loved, but during a recent basketball game, that

all changed.

As she stood on the sidelines, cheering with her teammates, some in the crowd began to

make fun of her.

Cliff still remembers how angry he was watching total strangers mock his beloved daughter,

but he also recalls her brave response.

"She saw that I was upset," he said.

"She threw her hands around me and made me look at her face and said, 'Papa, it's

OK.

I still love them even if they do not like me.'"

But Cliff was not the only one who noticed the heckling.

Some of the players started to notice it too, and they were not going to stand for it.

During a timeout, Miles Rodriguez, Scooter Terrien, and Chase Vazquez went into the crowd

and gave the bullies a simple message: "Do not mess with her."

They also went to the sports director and asked him to do something about the nasty

fans.

"We were mad," Miles said, "we did not like that."

When Cliff first saw the players go into the stands, he was not sure what was happening,

but as soon as he realized what they were doing he broke down in tears.

"When I realized what those young men did, my initial reaction was to break down and

cry," he said.

"This was the first time someone other than family came to her defense."

Thankfully, the whole school rallied behind Desiree, determined to show her that she is

loved and valued.

They even decided to name their gym for her, calling it "D's House," and the spunky

cheerleader is introduced at home games along with the players.

Desiree has been touched by the outpouring of love and support from her school community.

"It's amazing," she said.

Her story has since gone viral and she and her dad have received calls from the likes

of FOX News, ABC News, Today, and The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

People all over the world have also reached out to show their support.

While some young teens might be overwhelmed by all this attention, Cliff says his daughter

has been enjoying it.

"Desiree has always been under the assumption … that she's famous," he said.

"So now her dream is coming true and she's just on cloud nine.

As her father, it is quite a feeling."

As for Desiree's heroes, they have been recognized in their community for their courage

and kindness at the game that night.

They are also up for a citizenships award, as well as other recognitions from their city.

But the boys say they do not need any recognition.

"I do not want anything else.

I just did this to help her," Miles said.

"This is not about fame.

It's about doing the right thing."

Even so, Cliff says he wants the boys to know just how grateful he is as a father for their

actions.

"It's been a godsend to us," he said.

"Those boys, I tried to talk to them in person, but I could not keep the tears back."

We will never understand why some people think it's okay to bully others just because they

are a little different, but we are glad there are good people in this world who have the

courage to stand up to the bullies and say, "Enough is enough!"

"Every day we are confronted with such terrible things people are willing to do to others,"

Cliff said.

"But something like this gives a glimmer of hope for things to change for the better."

tried it I knew this was the real deal.

The process of making this Parsley Lemon Air Freshener is also really simple, you just

need 1 big lemon and some parsley leaves.

Cut the lemon into thick slices, add them to a pot, add the parsley leaves and pour

some tap water.

Then it's just a matter of letting it simmer for around 45 minutes or until the smell leaves

your kitchen (it's usually in the 20 minutes mark for me).

The result?

Not only will your kitchen be completely free of bad smells but you will also get a nice

citrus, herby scent lingering around that's just almost too delicious.

Recreating Warhammer Fantasy Battles in Total War Warhammer - Community update 2 - Channel Overview - Duration: 5:14.

On this channel we are putting together fan-made cinematic videos featuring historical and

fantasy battles based on the settings from the Total War series and of course, the good

Old World of Warhammer.

So guys first of all, thank you for being here.

I'm glad that some of you are really enjoying the content that is being produced on this

channel.

Thanks to all of you who have provided amazing feedback on Youtube, Reddit or the Facebook

page.

I read every single comment and a lot of you have come up with really great ideas on how

to improve the channel.

First of all, the Warhammer Fantasy world is full of deep characters, huge bloody battles,

interesting places and a rich background.

There are a lot of good folks out there that are just getting to know Warhammer Fantasy

because of the Total War videogame and I think that's awesome.

The more people who know about Warhammer Fantasy, or the-world-that-was for that matter.

The better.

Even if you are into Age of Sigmar, knowing about the Warhammer Fantasy background is

an excelent way to know major characters and where they are coming from.

As you may know already.

The Old World is no more, it was consumed by chaos during The End Times to make way

for Age of Sigmar.

We can cover more details on how that happened in another video.

But for now...

The good news is that we can keep the Warhammer Fantasy world alive by playing the tabletop

game, we can keep it alive by reading all the amazing novels out there, by playing videogames

that are set in the Old World.

For my part, on this channel I´m doing cinematic videos presenting Warhammer Fantasy lore,

battles, characters and everything in between.

I think the Total War: Warhammer videogame offers an amazing opportunity to present the

Warhammer world in a way that was just not possible before.

For me, this is super exciting, specially considering that Warhammer Fantasy is my favorite

fantasy setting and that the Total War series is my favorite videogame of all time.

So at least for me, it's a match made in heaven and that's why I'm doing these videos.

I want to try to preserve at least a small part of Warhammer Fantasy alive with the videogame

that I love the most.

Im also planning to make videos based on Total War Attila and maybe Thrones of Britannia.

Also in the future we could include more games that have a lot of storytelling potential,

for example, Stellaris or Hearts of Iron.

But for now, we'll focus on Total War: Warhammer.

At least for the next few weeks.

I have already put together some videos using in-game footage of Total War.

Each video or episode is inspired by interesting references found in different Warhammer Fantasy

source material, like army books or the couple of White Dwarf Magazines I have from the good

old days, like these ones...

want to compromise the overall quality of the videos.

So for that matter, Steven, a great voice actor from Canada is helping me with his amazing

voice.

Let's take a quick listen to a scene from one of our previous videos so you have a better

idea of what I'm talking about.

With every single video, I try to add some kind of epic music to go alongside the story.

It adds a lot to the final feel of the video.

I try to make a nice combination of music, narration and battle sounds to really create

a more inmersive experience every time you watch an episode.

At the moment Im using copyright free material but if any of you guys is a producer and feel

that one of your songs would fit in one of the videos, please feel free to send me a
