Mr. Beat presents
Supreme Court Briefs
Salisbury, Maryland April 10, 2009
Police arrest Alonzo King, Jr. for waving a gun at a group of people.
They later find a 12-gauge shotgun in his car and charge him with assault.
So you see, in Maryland there's this law called the DNA Collection Act.
It gives the police the authority to collect DNA samples and put them in a database prior to convicting the person.
So back at the station, police get a sample of King's DNA by swabbing the inside of his cheek, sending it to be analyzed and uploaded to the database.
On August 4, the results came back, showing King's DNA matched the DNA in an unsolved rape case from 2003.
A grand jury said dude, we are indicting you for that, so King went on trial for the rape case.
King was like, what? What does that have to do with the reason why I got arrested in the first place?
He filed a motion to block the DNA evidence from being used in court for Wicomico County, saying his Fourth Amendment rights were broken because the DNA swab fell under unreasonable searches and seizures.
The judge denied his motion, and King pleaded not guilty to the rape charge.
The DNA sample was the only real evidence linking King to the rape.
The trial court found him guilty, and he was sentenced to life in prison.
However, King appealed to the Maryland Court of Appeals, who reversed the conviction, saying the DNA sampling went against the Fourth Amendment as King argued.
They argued King's right to privacy was more important than Maryland's desire to use his DNA to identify him.
And yet, they still said the DNA Collection Act was constitutional.
Maryland appealed the ruling, asking the Supreme Court to look at the case, and they did on February 26, 2013.
The main issue with this case was whether or not the Fourth Amendment allowed states to sample and analyze DNA from folks arrested but not convicted of serious crimes.
The Court announced their decision on June 3rd.
They sided with Maryland. It was 5-4, but it wasn't your typical liberal-leaning vs. conservative-leaning decision.
I mean, you had Antonin Scalia on the same team as Elena Kagan, Sonia Sotomayor, and Ruth Bader Ginsburg, for crying out loud.
Justice Anthony Kennedy gave the opinion, arguing the DNA swab test did NOT violate the Fourth Amendment because it served the safety of the state of Maryland,
yet wasn't too invasive where a warrant would be needed.
The Court also argued that the DNA records were basically just an extension of other ways the police already kept databases of people they arrested to help solve future crimes, comparing it to things like fingerprinting.
Justice Scalia wrote a passionate dissent, arguing the Fourth Amendment definitely prohibits the police from searching a person for evidence of a crime if it's a completely different crime than the one the person was arrested for.
Scalia argued sure, the DNA of arrested people helps the police solve more crimes, but they could also solve more crimes if they collected DNA anytime someone enrolled in public school or got a driver's license, which was an absurd thing to consider.
Maryland v. King is a recent decision that has big implications on those living in one of the 30 states where they can arrest you, force you to give a DNA sample, and then later charge you with a different crime based on the results of the DNA sample.
Although not many Americans know about the case, it's yet another example of how many argue the Fourth Amendment is consistently threatened as technology gets more and more advanced.
I'll see you for the next Supreme Court case, jury!
Well that was Orwellian. What do you think about this decision?
Let me know in the comments below.

JAPANESE GIRL TRIED FOLLOWING A JAMES CHARLES MAKEUP TUTORIAL! - Duration: 22:19.
Today, I would like to follow along with James Charles' make up tutorial.
I've chosen one of his video called "Holiday Slay Makeup".
You won't see this kind of make up in Japan
so I want to try this make up on my face today.
I'm looking forward to seeing how it turns out.
I normally use a light brown.
His eyebrows are quick thick.
Okay, I will try my best!
It's also a curvy shape.
There is a comedian in Japan.
The comedian is called "Imoto".
I think he is already wearing foundation.
I bought the colour "20 Cameo", but this is too dark for me.
I normally mix it with a different colour, but I'll use it by itself today.
I want to be a bit different today.
Is it a little bit red?
I don't mind.
I can see the definition a bit.
I'm not good at it, though.
He used an orange colour on his eye lids.
I used a bit of foundation to get more colour on my lids.
He uses a very intense orange colour, so I am going to use this orange.
This kind of eye make up is difficult for Asian people. We don't have big enough eyelids.
What can I do?
Well, I will try it anyways.
Have I ever used a lot of orange colour for my make up?
No...
Isn't it orange?
I will use this orange colour.
Oops...
I will add some red colour.
I'll use this colour.
Hopefully this will be a closer match to his.
It ended up like this.
It's so difficult, isn't it?
So, with this black...
Hang on.
I might fail...
I can't make it perfect.
Maybe I'd be better using more orange?
I think it will look better if I add more orange.
Am I really going to the post office with this face?
I need to go to the post office later.
I wonder if everyone will be surprised.
So he meant to put brown colour over this?
With a darker brown.
I will make it more intense.
It's going to be very dark.
I'm scared.
Am I going to add more colour?
Maybe it'll look better when I have eyelashes on.
Oh my god...
I'll apply glitter on the middle of my eyelids.
This is so difficult! I have to concentrate!
I'll use this kind of flat brush.
My eyes are a bit small, so I can only apply 1cm.
James applies a lot more on his eye lids.
I tried to apply a bit more,
but the lines on my eye lid hide the glitter...
It's a bit wet, but I'll carry on.
Does he actually have it? Wow.
I use eyeliner to draw the curve?
Can you do that using eyeliner?
I'll use Korean eyeliner from the brand "TONYMOLY".
So, I'll apply black colour here.
He means like this?
I can see the colour difference after the black eyeliner, so I have to make the outer colour darker.
I will add more black colour.
Is it okay like this?
I've got eyelashes on now.
It became more dramatic.
And then...
I will apply mascara over it.
When I have this kind of heavy make up, eyelashes...
Eyelash suit this kind of dark make up.
It's going well, isn't it?
I think I might like it.
I wasn't sure how it is going to turn out, but maybe I'll like it.
Excuse me!
I apply eyeliner to my inner eyes.
I like this technique.
The eyes will look bigger.
Like this?
I'm hesitant to apply more black...
But let's do it.
I'll use this orange.
The colour match, it looks nice.
It went in my eye.
Painful...
I can do this make up for Halloween.
I'll use this sponge.
And I'll apply some powder to make the line here more defined.
I can't do this well.
It's too much...
Wow, I got a nice line here.
Like this?
What can I do with this? A lot of powder came out.
He uses a darker pink.
Over this orange?
Again?
Like this?
I apply a highlight under my eyebrow.
This is from Mac.
And inside as well.
Applying highlight on the inner corner of the eyes gives it a fresh look.
Like this?
I don't think he uses blusher.
He just contours.
I will copy him!
And highlight.
On my nose as well.
I did too much.
Does my nose look taller?
And lipstick.
I don't know what colour he uses.
His lips look pink at the end of the video.
But his lips look a bit darker at the beginning of the video.
So...
I want to use a bit of a darker pink.
It's going to be the end, everyone.
How are you?
I actually don't have the dark lipstick..
I line my lips.
Which one?
This one?
What do you think?
This is...
This is interesting.
That's it?
I'm not sure if these earrings suit me.
I always use pink or orange blusher.
Today, I only have colour from the contouring.
It's not bad!
This make up is good for parties at night.
For a party on a holiday.
I've got this dress for this make up look.
Maybe it's better to put my hair up?
I like the colour.
But I used an orange colour first.
I'm very interested in different make up from other countries.
In Japan, we don't normally use these colours or techniques.
I've never used this dark colour.
But,
I think I can use it.
Maybe When I go out.
I hope you enjoyed this.
What do you think about this look?
Please leave me a comment and let me know.
Who is your favorite YouTuber?
I want to try out different make up from other countries.

COULD THESE RETURN? • Battlefield 5 / V • Game Mode Ideas 💡 - Duration: 5:23.
Battlefield V is approaching fast.
We're just a few days away from the open beta and maybe two months from the final release.
And when people think Battlefield, they usually think about the large-scale battles,
the tanks, the planes, the massive all-out-war.
But beside those big players like Conquest or Operations, there have been other, sometimes
slightly more experimental game modes in the history of Battlefield that grabbed players'
attention.
Welcome to my little channel and today I'd like to talk about three game modes that I
would like to see return in Battlefield V.
The first one's from the series' most recent installment and came as quite a suprise to
me.
On paper two armies chasing after a little winged creature in a cage sounds utterly stupid
and almost silly.
But as it turned out, Battlefield 1's "War Pigeons" mode soon became a personal favorite
of mine.
If you've been following the channel for a while, chances are you caught me playing nothing
but "War Pigeons" on stream for weeks.
And for good reason!
The game-mode is a fun, fast and focused change from the sometimes a bit drawn-out or one-sided
matches in the larger scale battles.
In "War Pigeons" you're team actually CAN make a comeback and the moment a round starts,
you can never be sure about how it's gonna play out.
As far as I know, messenger pigeons were still around during World War 2,
like the decorated war pigeon "William of Orange" who delivered a message that saved
the lives of more than 2000 soldiers during the Battle of Arnhem in September 1944.
So DICE wouldn't really need to drastically change the game mode to make it fit the new
setting.
If they wanted to modernize, though, they could always replace the pigeon with something
like a backpack radio transceiver and instead of having one player retrieve, write AND release
the message, it could be made a two-man task:
One picks up the backpack and has to hold onto it until a stable connection has been
established
and another one then relays the actual message to HQ.
Either way, I hope we see a return of "War Pigeons" in one form or another as it easily
became one of my favorite gamemodes in Battlefield 1.
Next on my list is "Chain Link", an often overlooked game mode that was first introduced
in Battlefield 4's "Dragon's Teeth" add-on.
I know it never was the most popular mode when it came out and nobody plays it anymore
but I quite enjoyed it and I think an updated version on a slightly larger scale could be
something pretty cool.
The main thing I liked about Chain Link was that in order to bleed the enemy's respawn
points you had to capture adjacent objectives, which put a nice emphasize on not only capturing
but also defending your flags.
Because if you just rush from flag to flag - something that can often be seen in traditional
Conquest games - chances are the enemy will quickly break your established links as no
one stayed behind to defend them.
Now in Battlefield 4 it was an infantry-focused game mode but if the main idea could be translated
to larger maps including tanks and air vehicles, I think this could work really well
especially considering BF5's newly introduced fortifications system which could come in
handy for *defending* your flags.
And the final game mode I'd like to see make a return in Battlefield 5 is "Scavenger" from
Battlefield 3.
Scavenger was introduced in the "Aftermath" add-on in November of 2012 and it's basically
"Domination" with a twist:
You spawn with only a pistol, one grenade and a knife.
You don't have any of your gadgets like Ammo Packs, RPGs, etc. and primary weapons can
only be found scattered throughout the map, each with limited ammunition (usually one
clip/magazine) and randomized attachments.
This random element combined with the limited ammunition made it so worthwhile and exciting
because you didn't necessarily get a weapon you're familiar with and would see yourself
running out of ammo quite often.
So you constantly pick up new weapons to keep up the fight and due to their random nature
you'd end up using a variety of different guns and attachments you might not use otherwise.
In BF3 it was set in the aftermath of a devastating earthquake which explained why everything
was in ruins and all the equipment was scattered around the map.
In BF5 I could see it set in the aftermath of a devastating air strike, something like
what we saw in the Gamescom-Trailer.
And the scarcity of ammunition and lack of equipment would fit right in with BF5's new
attrition system.
One change I'd suggest though is the removal of stationary ammo crates like they had in
BF3.
It felt a bit counter-intuitive to the game mode because what usually happened was that
you found a cool gun that you liked and then just went to one of those crates, that were
always in the same location, giving you full ammunition, kinda negating the whole scarcity
theme.
And on top of that they were always a welcome target for campers.
So if there was one thing I would change, it would be the removal of those crates.
But overall this was a great game mode and unlike BF4's "Chain Link", it's still being
played!
Even on the 12 year old PlayStation 3!
Actually, the gameplay you're seeing in the background was recorded just last week.
So what do you think?
Could those game modes work in BF5?
Would you like to see other game modes make a return?
Let's hear about it in the comments section below!

[The Haunted House EX: The Haunted Memory] Ep.10 Stop it! Gangrim. - Duration: 14:02.
He's not a human?
What do you mean by that?
The truth of Gangrim
and..
also my secrets..
Honestly..
I have a power to see and touch ghots.
In other words..
It's called spiritual power.
However,
when I become the student of this school,
I saw the earthbound spirit who couldn't leave this school.
Is that ghost named Sooyeon?
You're right.
Ever since she found out that I could see her,
she started to bothering me.
And while she bothering me she also began to manipulating people's memories.
Why would she do that?
Because I tried to find who she is just like you guys.
Oh my.. the spiritual power and the earthboud spirit..
Are those really exist?
I'm sure that you can't believe it if you heard this kind of things all of sudden.
What is that...?
This is my sipritual power which is contained in the ring.
I put it in the ring just in case of danger.
What do you mean by 'case of danger'?
I'm not sure.
What does that story have to do with Gangrim?
I guess you haven't noticed yet
but you also can see and touch ghosts.
What?
Which is mean that,
you have a spiritual power too.
And the ghost which driven by that power is hovering around you.
What did you say?
That ghost is..
Gangrim.
The Haunted Memory Ep.10
Hold on.
Didn't you said that only the person with the spiritual power can see the ghost?
But why can everyone sees Gangrim!
That's because he's revealing himself on purpose.
I guess he wants Hari to think he's a real human.
That's ridiculous.
Then what are all those memories ?
We know each other well.
What is it? What are you doing Gangrim?
Hari,
You like strawberry, right?
I don't know exactly but..
He may be used your memory.
Which means, the memory of the real man named Gangrim.
The real Gangrim?
The fake Gangrim you see these days might have stolen a look at the Gangrim in your memory
and now his acting as a real Gangrim.
Then where is the real Gangrim?
I'm not sure about that.
If that ghost can manipulate people's memory,
how canyou be so sure that your memory is real?
Who knows that you're being fooled by a ghost or not?
The ghost can't hardly control the memory of the men who have a spiritual power.
That is why the fake Gangrim keep making Hari confused.
But, we can't just sure that Gangrim is the ghost just because you say so.
Because it could be you who is lying to us.
You're right.
I don't mind that if you believe me or not.
Anyway Hari, you should be careful.
I kind of feel like he is intiguing something.
Do you belive what Jumin told us?
I don't know.
Gaeun.
Yeah?
What if I'm not real too?
Why do you say that?
We don't know that.
If that's all true,
I may be something could be wrong with me too..
Are you hungry or not?
Huh?
Come to think of it..
I kind of feel hungry.
Then you are real Hari!
That's ridiculous!
Did you sleep well last night?
Hi.
Oh..H..hi.
Hari,
Yeah?
What's up?
Did something happened yesterday?
N..nothing happened.
Then why did y..
Hari, Do you want to go cafeteria now?
Oh sure! Let's go!
I'm sorry, let's have a talk later.
I just don't feel right.
Now, you are showing yourself.
What did you say to Hari!
Well.
Answer me!
What if I don't want to?
If so..
I will make you to.
Make me.
Are you sure they are at the rooftop?
I'm sure.
What was it?
This is..
Let's go quickly!
Where are they?
Over there!
What is on his back..?
Gangrim..!
Is he really a part of the ghost?
No!wait!
Hari!
You are over now.
Stop it!
Hari.
What are you doing?
I don't have time to explain.
Please move away Hari.
Hari..
I can't do that. Please let him go.
You don't know anything yet. If I don't stop him now..!
Gangrim!
Move away Hari!
Hari!
Hold my hand!
Gangrim!
I came here to protect you.
Gangrim that you know of is not a human.
I'm going to bring back your memory.
It's Gangrim who is manipulating your memory.
Hari!
Jumin: H..Hari..
Hari: What are you doing!
Hari: What are you doing! Gangrim, let him go!
Gangrim: You don't know anything yet.
Gangrim: If I don't stop Jumin now...!
Jumin: Gangrim!
Gangrim: Move away Hari!
Hari: I..I can't hold it anymore.. I don't think I can hold it any longer...
Gangrim: Hold my hand!
Hari: Gangrim...
A: Let me go..you gonna get hurt.. B: Don't let my hand..Please hold it tight..

Altering a poured acrylic painting for the #Sept2018PouringChallenge ~ #AlterThatPour - Duration: 10:43.
hi the challenge for September is to
alter your pour.
hi I'm Sherry & I want to welcome you to my
studio today.I'm taking these eight
pieces that I don't like and I'm going
to try to make a new composition from
them
these were pours I did last year (the
videos are on YouTube) and I just didn't
like them. The one on the left turned all
orange and the one on the right just
turned to yuck.
The first step in the process for
September was for me to cut the canvas
off of the frames. For the ones that were
on canvas board, this involved soaking
the pieces of art and then detaching the
canvas from the board. The next step is
that I have a load of dirty towels from
washing the car or cleaning up in
the art room
and I'm throwing these hunks of canvas
in here. I'm kind of thinking the ones
that were on canvas board the paint
might totally come off but we'll see.
They came out of the dryer they were
really wrinkled and I put them under
these boards to see if I could flatten
them out - let's check them out now.
The largest one the paint was really
thick this apparently works way better
with thin paint look how flexible this
one is when the paint was thinner
where's this one's just a big glob hmm
this one looks good
this one looks good this one looks
really good it was pulled from a small
canvas board this one was pulled from a
campus board but this one yeah I forgot
that these two had paper glued down
first and so apparently glue breaks down
even though acrylic doesn't in the
washer and dryer so trash but look how
pretty it is from what was left on there
so I might use that this one again was
super thick and started with paper so
this is really pretty and this might
work cut up as a skin you can still see
the paper on the back that's how I
figured out what happened that worked
good that worked. I started to lay this
out with the pieces as is and quite
frankly I can't come up with a good
composition so I am going to rip them
down into more strips about this size
and then try again.
I've sped this up about two and a half
times and I cut out some of it as well
basically we rip how do you like that
neon green shirt
you
the big brown piece I had at one time
before I ever poured on it had sown
something to the back and that's what
made that one extra hard to rip it would
tear along the sewing lines yes I'm
always doing weird stuff with my art
you
okay time to start laying out all the
little pieces that Patrick and I tore up
and while I'm laying them out just go
ahead and comment on what I did to the
substrate
I bought a canvas that was a
little less expensive because quite
frankly I'm not sure how this all turn
out but then it wasn't taut enough
so I got the back of the canvas wet
excuse me and then dried it with my heat
gun this shrinks the canvas a little bit
and makes it a little bit more tight
I also gessod and painted the canvas
again to give it more structure you know
just in case I ended up liking this
piece this part is sped up too
back again everything has been glued and
dried and now I'm going to take some
matte gel to kind of fill in the gaps
and make sure all the edges are down I
tried to make the top and the bottom
flat but the sides hangs over
basically this is like I'm spackling it
these are the putty knife this part no
this part is sped up as well
so the purpose of this is to catch all
the edges. I really regret the matte
medium it ended up looking like school
paste - you know how school paste
looks and I almost viewed this as
ruined after it dried I don't know if it
was the brand of gel medium I used or
what - it was an off-brand not the good
golden kind. It is very frustrating
and again this is sped up and I end up
cutting part of it out. So you're
probably wondering where I got this idea
and it came from a visit to the Denver
Art Museum where I saw the work of a
Native American artist named Jeffrey
Gibson and he had gone through a period
of time where he tore up his canvases
and reassembled them his were stitched
on blankets and I found them fascinating
he no longer does this type of work he
does a lot more beadwork but I stole the
idea from him.
Here's the completed piece. I poured on
some gloss varnish so that you could
still see the texture but get some sheen
to it. There we go - look at all the
bumpiness from it being put in the wash.
I don't know if I'm gonna leave it like
this or add a painting of some sort on
top.
Thanks for watching my video. Please
leave any questions or comments you
might have and I will get back to you as
soon as I can. I hope you'll subscribe
thanks again bye

Manchester United and Liverpool should be worried with Champions League draw - Duration: 7:01.
Football News24/7 In the luxurious surroundings of the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco, the elite of European football gathered on Thursday evening to learn their fate for the 2018/19 Champions League group stage
The journey begins again on September 18th as 31 of the 32 sides aim to topple serial champions, Real Madrid, from their perch
On offer to the winners aside from lucrative financial gain should they progress, is the opportunity to lift the trophy at the fantastic Estadio Wanda Metropolitano, home of Atletico Madid, on June 1, 2019
Los Blancos couldn't be happier with their draw. With respect to Roma, CSKA Moscow and Viktoria Plzen, the current holders should have no problems breezing through Group G
The team are developing well under Julen Lopetegui, with the departures of Zinedine Zidane and Cristiano Ronaldo now distant memories
It's given other players a chance to grow and there's a much happier squad at the Bernabeu
On the pitch, there is much to admire from Real at this point and, whisper it quietly, they'll fancy their chances of making it four in a row
The same can't be said for La Liga rivals Barcelona. They should still progress from Group B, but, nonetheless, they've some tough fixtures against Tottenham Hotspur, PSV Eindhoven and Inter
It's not long since Ernesto Valverde's side were humbled in Rome, and a trip back to Italy against a strong Inter won't be taken lightly
Ditto to Wembley because the new White Hart Lane is unlikely to be ready in time
The ground holds special significance for the club, given they've won two of their Champions League titles there, however, Spurs have grown into the stadium and were excellent when dismantling Barca's La Liga rivals Real Madrid there last season
Valencia were cock-a-hoop at getting back into European football's biggest club competition, but that was before being paired with Juventus and Manchester United
Young Boys are the other team in Group H. A reunion between Jose Mourinho and Cristiano Ronaldo is the narrative that sticks out there
The player will love returning to Old Trafford again to show the locals what they're missing, while the Special One will relish the opportunity of putting a spoke in Juve's title aspirations
The final Spanish club in the draw, Europa League winners Atletico Madrid, face an awkward, but not necessarily demanding set of games against Borussia Dortmund, Monaco and Brugge
Last season's beaten finalists, Liverpool, who've enjoyed a stunning start to their Premier League campaign, will measure themselves against a Paris Saint-Germain side that includes Neymar and Kylian Mbappe
Jurgen Klopp will have absolute faith in his front three to fire them into the latter stages again, though Napoli could prove a tough nut to crack and Red Star won't offer a hospitable welcome
Pep Guardiola's Manchester City were installed as one of the pre-tournament favourites even before the draw had taken place, and there isn't really too much to trouble them in Group F
Shakhtar Donetsk are no longer the force they once were in this competition, and Lyon have just sold their marksman, Mariano, back to Real Madrid
Hoffenheim might throw up a shock or two, but it's unlikely to be at City's expense
In Group E, Bayern Munich are the clear favourites, with Ajax looking to progress with another crop of extremely talented youngsters
Barcelona are sniffing around their players, so this could be the final time we see some of them wearing the famous red and white shirt in this competition
Benfica and AEK will fight it out for third in that group, and a subsequent Europa League placing
The final group, D, is anybody's. No one really stands out from Lokomotiv, Porto, Schalke or Galatasaray, and each will fancy their chances of progressing

The Ford Fanatic - Duration: 9:54.
I'm Angelo Paletta from Burlington
this is the car Cathedral
Yeah I'm definitely a Ford fanatic.
I'm car crazy,
just love cars.
I have no other real passion;
no boats, no cottages, no bikes.
Cars are it.
This is a combination, car storage
not a museum,
definitely a working garage that people can come and see.
I have a second-story man cave
with a 50 style diner,
big screen TV,
a whole bunch of memorabilia from Ford,
big ... small.
Of course I have a Christmas tree,
it's Christmas every day of the year
at the car cathedral
and it's just a place to come and relax,
have some fun,
have some pizza,
charity events ...
let's get together barbecue
whatever.
So I have OCD "obsessive car disorder"
Ford's been part of my life from day one.
My father in the late 50s was Ford.
We drove Ford station wagons,
he had Torinos ...
he eventually graduated to Lincoln's.
Still drives a Lincoln today!
So the blue oval has been in my blood
for quite a while.
So this one here is a 2006 Canadian spec Ford GT.
This car had twenty four and a half miles on when I bought the car.
It's never been plated.
It has 29 miles on it.
All those miles have been done in my driveway
And this is really a super pristine car,
it is a collector's item
with the original stickers
plastic on the seats ...
the original window stickers from the factory
and you see it's a Canadian spec car,
because you actually see the Canadian flag on the windshield.
So ...
this Ford GT
is actually the first Ford GT I purchased.
It's the American Racing colours
white with blue stripe.
This is more of a daily driver for me
it's been on rallies in the states.
One thing that's really neat about this car,
we did in honor of Carol Shelby when he passed away,
and he actually signed the center console on this car.
This is an exact recreation ...
of the 1968 / 69
double Le Mans winner.
It's a recreation of car 1075
it's the only car to win Le Mans
two years in a row.
Ford actually used this car on display
when they launched a 2006
Canadian Ford GT.
But what's really unique about this car
it's exactly what it was built in the 60s
so the roof comes out with the door
it has the fuel cells are actually in the door sill
and there's two, one on each side.
This has the full five-point harness
you can still see the little rings,
that was ventilation,
right-hand drive,
right-hand shift.
and you'll see the actual inside here,
you see all the switches,
which Ford then reproduce
in 2006 when they built in 2005 / 2006 Ford GT
they used a similar style switch
to keep the authenticity of the car.
So this has true '48 IVA Webers.
Everyone knows the bundle of snakes
which was the exhaust,
for the cars back then.
And it has a 5-speed ZF transaxle,
so, mid engine mounted car,
transaxle behind it.
The clamshell like they had in the 60s,
as I said this is about 95 percent accurate
to the original car.
So this is the car that won Le Mans
from 66 to 69.
Now we moved to 2016 2017
and the new Ford GT
that won Le Mans,
50 years later
in 2016.
And they created a street car,
the same time they created a race car.
These cars were basically designed and built simultaneously,
so that street version
mimics the race car.
Obviously there's things in a race car you can't put on a street car ...
but ultimately this is the same as a race car.
It's an amazing feat of engineering.
It's another piece of rolling art.
So, the interior of this car ...
was also custom ordered,
it's called launch control
and it's the orange that matches the space suits
from the astronauts
when they were going to one of the space shuttle runs.
Carbon fiber interior,
paddles,
all the controls are on the steering wheel,
and you can drive it.
It's another great piece.
This is a 2009 GT 500 KR edition.
Basically a remake of the 1968 KR
that Shelby came out with.
One of only 22 in Canada.
Neat car lots of power,
very tight,
supercharged,
cold air intake,
carbon fiber piece here,
these Shelby caps were stocked with the car,
over the coolant reservoirs,
handles very well
and it's good daily driver.
This is a very unique piece
this is an original Shelby Cobra,
all aluminium,
an original 427 side oiler motor
and NASCAR
big spine four-speed top loader.
what's very unique about that is
that both of those pieces were built by Bill parson from Southern Automotive.
And he actually built transmissions and engines for Shelby
in the 60s.
It's number two of only twelve American-made cars
another unique piece about this car,
it has aluminium inner wheel fenders
it's the only one in the world that I know of that has that
and it was actually done by a gentleman
who apprenticed in England,
making the aluminum bodies for ace, for Shelby.
The engine on this car is spectacular,
all original,
427 side oiler
The car has only got about 200 miles on the car
I'm the only person to ever drive this car
I found it in a warehouse in San Jose California
had been purchased by the gentleman in 1997
second year after Shelby started again
and it sat in his warehouse
until I bought it in 2010.
Original bias-ply tires,
and errr ...
very loud,
very hot,
and the car iss all made by hand.
This is a hand rolled, aluminum, Shelby Cobra.
This is a 2001 superformance 427 s/c Shelby Cobra.
These folks have the license to build the cars for Shelby.
I got this car in 2001,
this was the third car into Canada.
The car that actually has been signed by Carroll Shelby,
on the glovebox.
It has little wood racing brakes,
Bilstein racing shocks,
it's the original layout of the 1965 car,
has original Smith and Lucas gauges
and original wood steering wheel.
Putting up well over 550 horse,
four-barrel carburetor,
double pumper,
and this card is very light, goes very very fast.
Beautiful car to drive on a nice day,
and when you really want to get on it
you can get on it
and she goes.
Again, another piece of nostalgia,
Great partnership with Ford and Shelby
back in the 60s,
fantastic car!
The last car in my mini Ford Museum
is the 2012 boss 302 Laguna Seca model.
This is one of only 30 in Canada
2012 was the only year that this car was available in Canada
and the only year that they had the two-tone paint
where the spoiler and the roof
and side stripes and wheels all matched.
And they only built this car for two years 2012 and 2013.
This car has the full Recaro racing seats,
as well as five-point harnesses,
for both the driver and passenger.
Has no rear seat,
and a fully integrated roll cage into the car.
This car is also meant for the track it
Is a normally aspirated car,
with approximately 444 horsepower.
Great cars!
A lot of fun.
You know it's just, it's a great hobby.
I do a lot of charity work with the cars.
A lot of rides,
and I like opening it up to you know
a lot of people to see it, specially kids.
I even let kids sit in the cars
sometimes their parents,
but you know it's great to get the enthusiasm from the kids
and hopefully they are future Ford customers
when they get old enough.

FUNNY JOKE OF THE DAY | Different Fathers Twins - Duration: 3:21.
What do you say? What do you say?
It's Friday!!!
Hello one and all!
Welcome, welcome to episode number 25 of the
"FUNNY JOKE OF THE DAY" / "The Friday Funny (Dfferent Fathers Twins)."
I am your personal host Shawn, S-H-A-W-N,
or if you prefer, Bits of Real Panther --
although I'm not gonna spell that one for you.
I hope your Friday is, was, or will be absolutely monumental.
In today's video there will be an adult beverage,
followed by a (in my opinion) hilarious joke.
But before all of those things,
what would you say to a "Friday Funny" fun fact?
In 2011 there were 3 reported cases of twins being born by two different fathers!
I don't really know how that works...
I'm sure there's a double mint gum joke in there somewhere;
I can't think of what it is.
But speaking of pleasure,
it is my pleasure to introduce to you today's "Friday Funny" breakfast:
today we will be drinking --
or I guess I will be drinking --
well, if you have this at home too, pour yourself a glass, friend --
you've earned it!
Anyway, I, you, we will be drinking a Captain Morgan Apple Rum.
I've never had this before,
but 3:45 in the morning is the best time to start drinking.
Why?
Because THAT is what winners do.
Anyway, today's drink here goes out to your friend and mine
the very talented, non-drinking Darren Burch.
Here's to you Darren Burch!
Happy Friday, friend!
I taste nothing of Apple in that.
It's actually a lot more like hedge-apple.
And as always, if you enjoy content
of this kind this kind of zany wackiness here,
go ahead and hit that red SUBSCRIBE button
and you and I can be together forever.
#relationshipredflags
Anyway, lastly I have for you a joke.
When I give you the punchline to that joke,
please, please rate that joke on a scale of 0 through 5
and then post that number below in the comment section.
OK there, Samwise Gamgee, are you ready for the joke?
2 clowns are eating a cannibal.
I'll repeat that:
2 clowns are eating a cannibal.
One clown says to the other,
"hey, I think we got this joke wrong."
I love it, I absolutely love it --
Anyway, but don't let that taint your rating.
Anyway, please post your rating in the comment section below
and have yourself a happy Friday, friend!

3 Easy Tips To DEVELOP your English SPEAKING Skills (Subtitles) (2018) - Duration: 8:16.
Hi, I'm Jennifer.
Certified English teacher and Communications expert.
In today's video I'm going to share with you 3 tips on how to develop spoken English.
At the end of the video I'll share with you a bonus tip, that I know will really help you.
Ok, let's get started.
Tip 1
Practice speaking
Ok I know this seems obvious.
To develop spoken English, practice speaking.
Hmm, But, unfortunately, students don't do this.
They spend 90% of their time reading English, listening to English, writing English.
But they don't speak English.
So if you only spend 10% or less of your time
practicing spoken English, why would you expect to be good at it?
Now what you need to do is start
speaking. The best time to start developing your spoken English
was the minute you decided to learn English. The next best time is right now.
This is a Ukulele.
It's a musical instrument and I'm learning to play it.
Imagine I was telling my friend. I'm learning to play the ukulele and I told her I
spend 30 minutes a day watching
Youtube videos on how to play the Ukulele. I bought lots of different books.
I have a few apps. And I listen to ukulele music all the time. And
then, my friend asked me. Oh
How often do you play the ukulele?
And I tell my friend. Oh, I'm not ready to play yet.
I'm still just learning, but I'm not ready to play
What do you think my friend's reaction would be?
I imagine she would start laughing
or
she would be extremely confused because
In reality, I will not learn to play the ukulele.
Unless I play the ukulele and yeah
Now the same for you if you want to practice
speaking English
You need to speak English.
A lot of students allow their fear of making mistakes
prevent them from speaking English. So what you can do is
Don't be afraid of mistakes.
If you expect to make mistakes, it will instantly take that fear away.
Because in reality
perfection is not realistic.
And why?
Because I make mistakes
speaking English. My friends my native english-speaking friends make mistakes
speaking English.
So if we as native English speakers and myself
specifically as a teacher that's devoted my life to
studying English.
How can you expect to speak English perfectly if we don't?
So don't make your goal perfection.
It's okay to make mistakes.
In fact making mistakes means you're getting out of your comfort zone.
You're trying new things. You're pushing yourself
when you're making mistakes you're
learning and
making mistakes is the best thing you can do because we learn so much from our mistakes.
So expect make mistakes and don't be afraid of them mistakes are
beneficial. Change your perspective and it will really help you develop that confidence speaking English.
Okay. I know I just told you that you can't spend all your time
listening to English, which is true.
But you should still listen to English often and have that as part of your learning
routine and why because listening to English
Will teach you so many useful things that you can apply to your spoken skills. You'll learn natural
pronunciation changes you'll learn
reductions
contractions linking sentences new expressions body language
Intonation, but you'll learn all of these things
naturally
Subconsciously because as you're watching TV, your brain is processing the information
Your brain is learning
pronunciation
Expressions and you don't even realize it. You're just enjoying the TV program
but the key here is to listen to
Natural English. So here's a great way to do it. Just join my facebook page
every single day I go live and I
Speak to you
Naturally and I explain the expressions I'm using as well
So every single day you can be exposed to natural English, but in very small portions, so it's manageable
It's not overwhelming like watching a two-hour movie
It's just watching a four-minute video bonus tip become a great listener
now if you want to develop spoken English
it means you're going to be having a conversation with someone but speaking is only half of the
conversation the other half of the conversation is
listening and
When you listen, you'll know what to say max
because in that conversation you should be
Tailoring your message what you're communicating
based on what you're hearing and
If you're not a confident listener if you're still making mistakes listening
You won't know how to respond. You won't know what to say
So if you are confident listening and you know exactly what question you're being
Asked or what topic is being discussed
then you're already one step closer to being able to participate in the conversation and
Speak in the conversation as well. So now you have four easy things
you can do to develop your spoken English first practice speaking all the time and
expect to make mistakes
Focus on your listening skills and become a great listener
All right
Now let me know in the comments what one thing that you're going to do to develop your spoken English
I'd love to hear about it
If you found this video useful, please hit the like button share it with your friends, and of course subscribe. Thank you
So much for watching and until next week. Happy studying

How to Make Tortillas & Tortilla Chips at Home - Duration: 3:59.
Last year I put together a short little video for my buddy over at Brothers Green
Eats on how to make homemade tortilla chips.
I bet you didn't know you could make these at home!
Can you believe how much my hair has grown since then?
Yeah, I'm growing it out.
Recently I made some homemade tortillas using masa
harina and I thought about that video I did about DIY tortilla chips...
so here I present to you this video on how to make both tasty treats.
DIY on DIY!
First up, DIY tortilla chips.
Tortilla chips. Bet you didn't know you could make these at home.
And in less than a minute I will show you how to make these crunchy treats
Fill a pot with a neutral oil -- I use sunflower oil -- I like to use my wok
for this. And get your fresh tortillas. A variety will work, but it works best with
corn tortillas. Cut the tortillas into fourths. Once your oil is hot, add the
slices. You don't want to add too many or they'll pile on top of each other, and
you want each one to have its own space. Once they start to turn golden, remove
them from the oil onto a kitchen towel or paper towel. Salt them immediately.
You can do this in batches. Drain, and personalize it with spices! Try cumin,
paprika, sumac... the list goes on. And why not fry up some blue corn tortillas
while the oil's hot? YUM. Now I just need some guac. I hope you try making these at home.
I'm gonna go make some guacamole. Peace!
And then to make your homemade tortillas,
the key and only, actually, ingredient here is masa harina. Have you ever heard
of masa harina? Depending on where you live, can be a bit of a specialty item. In
certain parts of the world -- like Mexico --you can find it on absolutely every
corner. Depending on where you live in the United States, it may be harder to
source, but Whole Foods would definitely have some. Masa harina is a
corn flour that has been nixtamilized. I love that word: nixtamalization
typically refers to a process for the preparation
of corn or other grain in which the corn is soaked and cooked in an alkaline
solution, usually lime water, washed and then hulled.
So you want two cups of masa
harina and a half teaspoon of kosher salt, then add one and a half cups of hot
water from the tap and mix it together with your hands,
kneading it for a few minutes. Throw a towel over it and let it rest for about
20 minutes. Now you're ready to make your tortillas! Grab a pinch full, about the
size of an apricot, and begin to flatten it out using your palms and fingertips.
You could make these nice and perfectly flat using a tortilla press... I don't have
one of those. I would really like one, though, so if you're a family member or a
friend watching this and you need any ideas...there you go :)
Or you could make them thin by using two sheets of plastic, putting that tortilla
dough in between them and pressing them down using something heavy like a
cast-iron pan and doing that. I like them a little thicker, though, and kind of
that rustic handmade look. Connor lived in Guatemala for a bit and he said that
this is how his host mom prepared them. So I'm just like his Guatemalan host mom,
I guess. Then get a cast-iron pan hot and put the tortilla dough in it. Heat it for
one or two minutes until the edges start to curl up a bit and when you flip it
you'll see some brown toasted spots. Heat the other side for one to two minutes as
well. And now your DIY tortillas are done! At this point, you can either cut them
into fourths and deep fry them like you saw done in the DIY chip video, or you
can just use them as a taco. That's my preference.
Here's to delicious tortillas and tortilla chips! Until next time, don't forget to keep it quirky.
I'll see you back here soon.

I'm sure there's a double mint gum joke in there somewhere;

LDOE Police Station! The 3 Best Ways to do Blackport PD in Last Day on Earth Survival Update 1.9.6 - Duration: 7:30.
The Police Station is an amazing opportunity for anyone playing Last Day on Earth, but in order
to come out ahead when doing Blackport PD, you need to know what your goals are before you do it.
Today I am going to show you the 3 best ways to do the police station based on the different
goals you might have when playing this game.
The first category of people are those of you who have almost nothing.
You have either just started the game or you aren't very good at it yet.
If you fit in this category, I strongly recommend checking out my video called "211 tips and
tricks for Last Day on Earth".
Following the steps in that video will get you to an advanced level in this game.
But even if you are dirt poor, you still want to do the police station every 3 days when it resets.
Make sure you have at least 5 armor, 20 berries and then grab a decent weapon.
The knife you start out with is a good choice, but a baseball bat will work as well.
Your goal here is to kill just as many zombies as it takes to find three cards.
This will probably mean killing 6-8 zombies.
Do not try to kill this "Hungry Chomper".
You will not win because he gains 15 health every time he hits you.
Unless you're extremely lucky, the 3 cards will all be brown, but that's okay because
you used almost zero resources to get these 3 cards and each of these cards will give
you 6 slots of some pretty amazing items for where you are at.
Grab those items and go home.
You are done with the police station until it resets in three days or until you get rich
enough to fit in a different category.
The second category is where most of you guys are at.
You have learned how to farm efficiently in Last Day on Earth which has made you rich
with resources and therefore rich in items that you can craft; however, you do not have
a lot of items that you can't craft such as guns, blueprints and rare parts used in
assembling weapon modifications.
If you need lots of guns, I recommend first using your craftable items to farm bunker
Alpha on easy mode because that is the most efficient way to get guns, but it you want
blueprints and rare parts used in assembling weapon modifications, you are in the perfect
place for that.
First, I recommend clearing out the police station.
Killing these guys is not the most efficient way to get cards, but the chest scattered
throughout here have some decent materials so I think it is worth it.
It is also the only way to keys to cell doors which is basically just another chest.
Clearing this area and completing rounds later on have the same type of enemies.
Officers are pretty straightforward but some of them do have full SWAT gear making them
a lot harder.
Riot zombies also have full SWAT gear, but they have a shield.
When that Shield is up, it will block all of your attacks so don't waste your durability.
Just run away and wait until he puts it back down.
Also, his shield bash ability not only knocks you back, but it also slows you down which
becomes a really big deal when you are trying to dodge the abilities of exploding zombies
and Brawlers.
If you let Brawlers use their ability on you, it will stun you for 5 seconds which can be
a death sentence in the arena.
As I mentioned earlier, Hungry Chompers heal 15 health each time they hit you so I recommend
using ranged weapons on them or the wall trick.
And then lastly, exploding zombies look and act very similar to officers, but when they
get to half health, they start to explode and if you do not Dodge that explosion, you will die.
Once the initial area is cleared and you are ready to start the arena, fill these two lockers
with all of the craftable items that you are wanting to use to "trade" for better items.
You will need lots of food, water, armor, and weapons.
If you were having trouble getting any item in the game, I have a playlist covering on
the most efficient way to farm each resource in this game.
I wish I could tell you guys the exact amount of items that you should bring based on what
rounds you're wanting to get too, but in reality, the most efficient way for you to do this
is to get rid of the items that you have too much of which makes it hard for me to anticipate
what that will look like.
Doing the rounds themselves are pretty simple.
The biggest tip I have for you guys is to move back and forth between these two corners
to split up the enemies based on speed.
This will let you kill exploding zombies and officers first and then you can take on Brawlers
and hungry chompers and then last you can kill Riot zombies.
After each round ends, put all of your almost broken weapons in the lockers and replenish
what you have on hand.
If you get bored, you can close out of the game for as long as you want because when
you come back, it will automatically spawn you in the arena where you left off; however,
do not leave the area when you're in the world map or it will end up resetting it just as
if you had died or if you had surrendered.
You never need to surrender unless you want to, because if you die, you can go into the
arena and get all of the stuff on you and in the lockers.
The first 10 Rounds get progressively harder and then the difficulty is increased again
at round 20, 40, 60 and 80.
The chance of getting better cards increases after round 10 making rounds 10-19 the sweet spot.
If you are in this second category, I recommend stopping after round 19.
Even if you are really wealthy and have a lot of extra resources, you will have the
opportunity to do this every 3 days so unless you really love grinding, you should save
your extra resources for the next time it resets.
After you're done with the arena, you will have a lot of cards.
Knowing how to use those cards is key to being efficient at the police station.
You can trade these cards for better cards at this guy with a 10 to 1 exchange ratio.
So if you are trying to get lenses and other types of materials for assembling weapon modifications
but don't have enough items to do 19 rounds every 3 days, than you want to get green chests
because 10 green chests are going to give you a lot more of those materials than 1 blue
chest.
This is also true of blueprints.
10 green chests means you get 10 Common blueprints whereas a blue chest will give you one rare
blueprint.
This same logic applies to purple chests.
10 blue chests will give you way more weapons, armor, materials and blueprints been one purple
chest, but that purple chest has a really nice stuff.
So if you are as rich as I know some of you guys are, where you don't even have enough
room in your base to fit new stuff, then this event is perfect for you.
Go use your stuff to get better stuff.
Now the only thing I haven't quite figured out yet I'm hoping to get the research team
to help me on this is whether or not it is more efficient for those of us who are crazy
rich with everything and have lots of extra electronic circuits and want lots of purple
chests and don't want to wait for the reset even though it is the most efficient , to
reset the arena after Round 19 or after round 39.
I haven't quite figured that out yet, but I'll let you know when I do.
This brings us to the third category.
Some of us are crazy rich and starved for a challenge in this game.
The police station offers us a new challenge.
The only way to get this door to open without surrendering or dying or leaving is to beat
99 rounds which requires us to have all of the materials to beat those 99 rounds in these
2 lockers.
Which requires being rich, planning your approach and carrying it out with skill.
In just a few hours after posting this video, I will be doing a livesteam on Twitch where
I try to complete all 99 rounds live and part of the challenge for me is to not use anything
from my inbox.
Well.
That's it guys. Hope that helps.
If you don't have a twitch account, you can also watch that livestream on this youtube channel.
Alright guys, I'll see you next time.

September Birthstone: Sapphire | Jill Maurer - Duration: 6:01.
Hi there. It is so good to see you. Please
hit that subscribe button so we can be
sure and see each other again. Today I'm
talking about the September birthstone
which is the sapphire. If you are a
September baby you are lucky, sapphire is
your birthstone. When most people think
about sapphire they think blue. And
sapphires do come in blue of course, and
in gorgeous shades of blue. Everywhere
from light blue to a dark, rich, bright
blue. And in the blue spectrum the dark
blue is the more coveted stone and
therefore the more expensive stone. But
sapphires are gorgeous in just about any
shade of blue. In addition to blue
sapphires come in almost all of the
colors of the rainbow. They come in
orange, green, black, brown, yellow. Not only
do sapphires come in a variety of colors,
they also come in a variety of qualities.
Don't just disregard some of the lower
qualities because they're less expensive,
but they can be every bit as beautiful
and make some very stylish jewelry. When
you look at a sapphire its expense is
based on not only its color but also its
clarity. The most precious is when it is
very very clear and when it is natural
and when it is unheated. This for example
is a natural blue sapphire that has not
been treated. It came out of Sri Lanka.
It's a gorgeous color, and it's an
amazing stone, and it's also an expensive
stone. But this is also a sapphire. This
is grey.
It has inclusions, and it's cut in ... It's
cut in a rose cut. I had to feel that. I
couldn't remember if it was cabochon.
and it's done in a rose cut. And while
it's nowhere near as pricey as this
stone, I love it. I love sort of the
rustic look of a more casual sapphire. So
the good news there is that while
sapphires are expensive, there is a
sapphire that you can afford and fall in
love with. The more clear sapphires are
generally faceted. They're cut like
a diamond, and they look like that you
know classic gem. Sapphires can also be
done in a cabochon style, and this is
generally done for a slightly lower
quality stone. If you have the highest
quality stone generally the cutter
chooses to facet it. If it just has
beautiful color but maybe some other
characteristics that aren't as highly
coveted, it can be cut in a cabochon. And
the cabochon is also a gorgeous cut of
stone. Another thing that's interesting
is some cabochon stones are will show a
star. This is a really interesting look
on a sapphire because what happens is
when when the stone follows the light
there's a star that appears and it moves
along the stone. Two very famous star
sapphires are the Star of Asia and the
Star of India both in museums. And the
star of India is the largest sapphire
known to man. It weighs in at over 550
carats. The other good news about a
sapphire is that it is very hard. A
sapphire comes in at a nine on the mohs
scale, and the mohs scale goes up to a 10.
A diamond is a 10, and you might think oh
so a sapphire is almost as strong as a
diamond. Mmm that's not exactly true . The
Mohs scale kind of goes on a curve like
this, and then nine is here the Sapphire
and the diamond is way up here as a ten.
But it's still a very strong stone, and
the good news about that is that it
doesn't scratch or doesn't chip very
easily which means that you can wear it
in a ring and not be so worried about
moving your hands around. If you hit it,
you could chip it or break it, but you're
far less likely to than in in any other
stone other than a diamond. But sapphires
are also very suitable for necklaces,
earrings, bracelets pretty much anywhere
you want to wear a sapphire is suitable.
And people have worn sapphires
throughout history. They are one of the
most beloved stones all around the world.
They're said to bring wisdom, confidence,
intuition, spiritual enlightenment. For
this reason a lot of royalty throughout
the years has worn have worn sapphires.
And also clergy. A lot of clergy have
worn sapphires. And sapphires are found
in crown jewels all over the world.
Historically just one of the most
beloved and prolific stones around the
world. Even though they're rare, they're
found in a number of places which meant
that a number of different cultures
found them and loved them. One of the
most famous sapphires that comes to mind
in more recent history is of course the
engagement ring of Princess Diana now
worn by Kate Middleton. And sapphires
have been a traditional engagement ring
or wedding ring in England for a long
time. In Queen Victoria's times sapphires
were every bit as much and maybe even
more popular than a diamond. And they
make great engagement rings. They look
great on a lot of people. They're
relatively strong, and they're a great
alternative if you're looking for
something other than a diamond for your
engagement ring.
Here's a fun fact about sapphires. Blue
is not the most expensive sapphire color.
That is the padparadscha sapphire which
is described as sort of an orange-y
pinkish sapphire, and it is said to be
the color of the sunset. And the name
comes from the Sanskrit word for lotus
flower. It is a beautiful beautiful stone
that you will rarely seel I hope you
enjoyed this discussion of September's
birthstone the Sapphire. If you did,
please check out my playlist on
birthstones. And let me know in the
comments below. Is sapphire your
birthstone? What do you think about it? It
isn't my birthstone, but it is a stone I
happen to love. Don't forget to subscribe!
I would love to see you again. Bye for
now!

You fired off like a smoking gun
Left me for dead like a hit and run
You make me feel like there is something to fight for
But there was just nothing at all

10 Ideas on How to Optimize Small Living Room - Duration: 8:39.
A tiny living room can be a dead end for some people
as they can do nothing due to the limited space.
If you happen to have a small living room, chill!
In this video, you're going to find 10 IDEAS ON HOW TO OPTIMIZE SMALL LIVING ROOM
so that it can be the best place for you to hang out in.
As usual this idea is brought to you by simphome.com
10. Combine Your Furniture Thoroughly
You might find it hard to get the best furniture
that suits your tight living room well;
something that is not only functional, but also aesthetical.
Here are some tips to pick furniture items for your living room.
A. Go with a large sectional sofa and one or two compact chairs if your living room
is in a compact space with one or two wide open sizes.
You can also try an armless sectional and a plush ottoman.
B. The sofa will enable you to lounge when you are alone while the ottoman
can make a great coffee table to put your popcorn on or an additional seat for more guests.
To make it more appealing, you can add a few pillows that have the same patterns or colors
as the curtains or ottoman to bring harmony to your limited space.
9. Uncover The Windows
Letting the natural light pass through the living room will make it look bigger and airier.
Therefore, don't go overboard with the window treatments.
If you want to accentuate your big windows as well as protecting you from the glare,
you can go with curtains.
Make sure that the curtains have the same color as the wall
so that they flow into a single unit without any separation.
Don't forget to pull back the curtains during the day
so that your living room can get sufficient lighting.
8. Invest in A Huge Mirror
This is another convenient trick that you can use to make your small living space
look visually bigger – a huge mirror.
A huge mirror has the ability to reflect lights and everything in front of it,
making the room seem larger than it really is.
Well, you can hire illusion to reverse your disadvantage though.
Also, this add on will be beneficial for your guest
trying to win their self-deprecating problem.
However, I don't recommend this idea if you constantly feel weird
every time you stare your own reflection.
Mainly in the middle of the night, when you are alone
7. Light Hues Always Work
Painting the wall black and investing in dark furniture
will make a living room look elegant.
For a small living room, however, dark hues will just make it look more cramped.
On the other hand, light hues like white or baby blue will make the room felt more open
and roomier because they tend to reflect lights.
Thus, paint the walls white and install big white tiles
will be able to make your living room appear larger.
6. Use Multifunctional Furniture Items
A small living room might hinder you from putting many furniture items
since they will gobble the room up
and you'll end up not having enough space to move through.
If that's the case, you can try getting multifunctional furniture items.
One of the best choices is an ottoman featuring a hidden storage space.
Not only for your bottom, you can use it as a coffee table for your snacks
when watching Netflix.
You can also ditch the tray to get an additional seat,
and hide the clutter into the storage space of the ottoman
so that your living room becomes clean and clutter-free.
5. Light the Living Room Up
As I've mentioned earlier, acquiring sufficient lighting is essential for a tiny living room.
If your living room has plenty of windows, congratulations!
But if it doesn't, you can always use artificial lighting.
They will just do in a pinch.
First, put a standing lamp next to an armchair or sofa,
and second, install some recessed LED lights.
Refurbished or brand new Lamp is no problem
4. Go with A Bigger Embellishment
Some people might think that an undersized living room requires small adornments
and furniture items.
It turns out that those itty-bitty accessories
just take up the space without any particular order.
So, why don't you go bigger?
I know that it might sound odd, but don't you think that one bigger adornment
is better than a bunch of smaller ones?
Just put a tall vase at the corner or a large painting on the wall.
I assume, it would be more exciting.
3. Show What You Are Really Into
Don't restrain yourself from showing who you really are and what you are keen on
just because you have a compact living room.
You can still impress your guests by decorating it based on your life style and hobbies.
If you are into beach, you can paint the ceiling and wall white.
Add some baby blue or aquamarine items to embody the sea.
Fluffy ivory rug can warm your feet up as well as conjuring up
the image of the soft beach sand.
To kick it up a notch, a coral crystal light hangs above the coffee table.
2. Use Exposed-Leg Furniture
The idea of optimizing a small living room
is to make it seem more spacious as well as looking awesome.
And to make it happen, you need to expose any space available in it.
One of the simple ways to expose more space in your limited area
is by placing an exposed-leg sofa or loveseat and some arm chairs.
The exposed legs enable your eyes to browse empty space under your sofa.
Other benefit, when your schedule call you to clean and sweep the floor,
you don't have to search a silly excuse first.
Before we get to number 1, I suggest to press subscribe button above comment area
if this channel is new to you,
this way, you will get a new notification every time I published a new video.
1. Making Shelves Near the Ceiling
Instead of purchasing a bulky shelf that takes up a lot of space,
you can make some shelves right under your ceiling.
It provides more space on the floor so that you can move through freely.
Besides, installing some shelves near the ceiling will draw the eyes upwards which makes
which make the room appear a bit sized.
The other good thing is you can make it yourself
which means you can save more money as well as space.
So, that's all the 10 ideas of how to optimize your compact living room.
That's it for now,
Before you leave, I welcome you to use comment area if you have anything to say.
Press like button because you still let my voice fills your brain
and see you again with more video like this in the near future.
I hope.
See you again next time and thanks for watching.

Hanoi Vietnam City Tour | OLD QUARTER NIGHT MARKET - Hanoi nightlife 2018 - Duration: 8:29.
Hanoi Night Market
Walking around Hoan Kiem lake – the heart of Hanoi – on weekend nights
it is easy to notice a crowed night market, known as Old Quarter Night Market.
The busy roads are blocked at night.
No cars or any other type of transportation is allowed during night.
The locals and tourists are free to roam the streets of the weekend night markets.
The only noise you would hear is that of the crowded streets with people and music.
It has been over a decade since its opening,
Old Quarter Night Market is a 3 kilometers long pedestrian street from Hang Dao street to Dong Xuan market.
With the aim of promoting Vietnamese culture in foreigners' eyes and Vietnamese new generation,
the night market represents Hanoi's cultural life and activities in the past.
This walking street opens from 7p.m until 11p.m on Friday, Saturday and Sunday night
and consists of over 3000 stalls from numerous small traders selling foods, clothes, accessories, daily goods, souvenirs and handicrafts.
All the stuff are pretty cheap here,
however, bargain is still an interesting aspect in Vietnamese market culture
so make sure to do it when you are about to buy something.
Visitors can also have chances to taste several types of Vietnamese street food along the street
and enjoy cultural activities while having fun in the market.
It is no surprised to meet foreigners and locals from all ages in this crowded market
as they all come there to experience real Hanoi's sense
with the images of antique architecture,
the sounds of Vietnamese folk music,
the subtle taste of delicious food and the atmosphere of Hanoi's old market.
Besides local dishes, Night Market also sells foreign cuisines, meeting the demands of many locals and tourists as well.
Ice cream rolls is a popular streetfood in Thai Lan that has been introduced to Hanoi,
creating a storm for young people here because of delicious tastes and the unique processes to make it.
The atmosphere of the Old Quarter night market is fun, exciting and civilized.
Tourists, while exploring the old Quarter have the possibility to try the unique cuisine of Hanoi.
It is a typical thousand-year-old culture city and provides special dishes from 3 regions.
This market is well known for attracting tourists from Vietnam itself
and also from International countries who want to take part in the weekly night market.
Experiencing a different tradition can be hard to adapt to, but very interesting as well.
If you ever embark on a journey to Vietnam, be sure to visit Hanoi.
The markets offer around 2000 stalls and sell many different items to choose from.
When all this becomes tiring,
you can sit down in the cafes or restaurants in the night markets
and eat traditional Vietnamese food to regain energy.
Thank you for watching and see you in the next video!
