in this video
i'm showing now the coleus plant propagation in water
i have cut these coleus cuttings from mature coleus plant
cuttings should be between 4 to 6 inches
and
make the cut for the cuttings just below a leaf node
using sharp blade or knife, remove the leaves from the lower half of the cutting
then
place the cuttings in a glass of water and place this in bright indirect light
now i'm showing three different colors of coleus plant propagation
it is a simple and easy way to propagate coleus plants
we can propagate all types of coleus plants in water
coleus cuttings will be rooted within a week or two
keep in sunny window, the cuttings will develop a tangle of roots
and change the water every two days
after one week
we can see the roots
new roots are developed
next
you can transplant the coleus cuttings into soil
and also cuttings can also grow in water for several months
now i'm going to keep the coleus plants in indoor
place the rooted cuttings in a wine glass
and put some marble stones for balancing and decorating
and then
fill the water in half of the glass
change water frequently to prevent algae
and
use bottled water if your water contains chlorine
coleus cuttings do not grow as fast in water
if you want to grow faster you can transplant in soil
