7 HIGHLY Attractive Things Guys Do - THIS is What Attracts Women to Men (FAST) - Duration: 5:19.

Gentlemen, today we're sharing with you the 7 most attractive things guys do that

women can't ignore.

There are a few habits out there, a few mannerisms that women are no match for.

Every woman's got their thing that guys do, that just does it for them.

The problem is, Some guys aren't always in touch with the

things they've got going, that women might like.

Well today, We're going to let you in on 7 male traits

women find highly attractive, So you can begin the process of uncovering

what those irresistible qualities in yourself.

Ready to roll?

Let's jump in.

7. Handle the Basics

If one thing's for sure, you gotta eat.

We all gotta eat.

But there are only so many hours in the day, so what happens?

Either you end up not eating enough or you end up gorging on whatever's convenient.

No bueno.

Meal prepping is one tactic that kills 2 birds with 1 stone.

First: Knowing your way around the kitchen universally attracts women.

And two, Meal prep means you won't starve so you

can always be on your A-game.

You see, It's easy to think about the big picture,

visualize your goals, see yourself getting the girl,

But none of that's happening without enough food in your belly first.

So the first level of attraction?

Taking care of the bare necessities.

It's basic.

It's a no-brainer.

But it's also one of those things women are highly attracted to.

6. Ignore Her

Calm down.

We don't mean ignore her, We're just saying stop riding for a minute

and know how to walk away.

Tell me if this sounds familiar: You're having a great conversation with

a girl, things are going good, But at the end of the night, she leaves with

another guy?

What the hell right?

It sucks, but it happens.

And 9 times outta 10 it happens because you're too attentive.

So here's something you can take to the bank:

When a girl says she wants something, say, attention,

She never wants all you have to give.

So instead of making the rookie move of oversharing, Introduce yourself, and seem interested but

not invested, then back off.

This is one of those tricks to get girls to chase you that every guy should do.

It'll help you maintain the right kind of tension between you and her.

5. Attract-a-Hack

Channeling our inner Captain Obvious here…

Did you know that women are attracted to men who are attractive?

Okay no duh…

But did you know that wearing certain clothing items will subconsciously make you more attractive?

We did a whole video on these, but here are 3 of the BIGGEST items to get you started:

1. A plain-white t.

This creates the illusion of a V-shaped body by making your shoulders look broader and

your waist slimmer.

Take this one to the next level by grabbing a V-neck.

2. Something red.

Studies show that simply wearing red can increase your attractiveness to women.

So how do you pair this with #1?

Try a red hat or maroon chinos.

3. A wristwatch.

Recommended by pretty much every style-YouTuber out there, a watch will instantly make you

look more attractive, more put together, and more classy.

And guys you already know which watch we, AlphaM, Teaching Men's Fashion, Based Zeus,

Real Men Real Style, How to Beast, Brett Maverick, Alex Costa, and 12k 5-star reviewers recommend…

is today's sponsor Vincero watches.

Their watches are exactly what women love: bold, yet classic... stylish, but not overdone.

Plus since their bands are interchangeable... one watch can = multiple styles.

If you want to boost your attractiveness, getting a Vincero watch is the easiest way

to do it.

Vincero even hooked you guys up with a HUGE discount code in the description.

4. Peek Over The Fence

A lot of guys ask us to teach how to get a

girl to like you?

Well gentlemen, being cultured is one of the absolute best ways to do it.

And even if you can't afford to travel across the ocean,

You can still be a well-traveled guy without even leaving your living room,

Because that magical wonder-rectangle in your hand can take you anywhere you want to go.

So use it to learn about different cultures, listen to some funky French music, or find

a new favorite author from Germany...

And share it all (especially your plans to visit these places) with the women you meet.

3. Be The FOMO

In wild animals, showing teeth is a sign of aggression.

But luckily for us humans, we can laugh without sending someone into a fit of blind rage (in

most cases at least.)

And even if you don't realize it while it's happening,

When you're laughing, smiling, and generally just having a good time...

You're doing what women really want in a guy…

You're having fun.

Think about it: Have you ever looked at a group of people

having a blast and wanted to join in?

Sure you have!

Everybody has a fear of missing out.

So instead of missing out on the fun, Bring it with you everywhere you go and never

stop smiling.

You look good when you smile :) Speaking of looking good, here's how to

INSTANTLY have a more attractive face.

2. Check Up But Don't Check In

We're back to talking about that magical

wonder-rectangle again.

That's because using it...

Gives you access to a treasure trove of helpful information (just like this video.)

Plus you can get in touch with anyone you want with a few taps of the screen.

So when you meet a girl you like, use your phone to your advantage,

And get those updates on how her day is going.

A simple good morning text works, but an evening phone call to say what's up is more personal.

The key is to do a lowkey check up, without making it seem like you're checking in.

1. The Follow Through

Want to know how to make any girl fall in

love with you?

It's the strangest thing, to us...

Guys will put in a ton of work to get a girl to like them,

And won't put any effort into keeping her around.

You'll be tempted to take the easy route, And quit just as you're getting started.

But if there's one way to instantly show a girl that you're of a high standard,

It's to always follow through on your word.

This simple act alone will place you in a different category from 99% of guys.

Some of you listening?

You might be a part of that 99%..

But it's not too late.

Start small.

Don't be basic.

If you say you're gonna call, call.

If you say you're gonna be somewhere, Be on time.

Take yourself out of the patterns of everyone else,

And there's no way that doesn't scream attraction to women.

Those are the 7 attractive things guys do that girls can't ignore.

And while you're here, become a magnetic man by checking out these other videos!

Where was the Ski Jumping World Cup inaugurated? - Duration: 5:10.

On the occasion of the Ski Jumping World Cup starting next weekend,

which will be inaugurated in Wisła, Poland

I have a video for you, in which we will look at the inaugurations

of this cycle since it's beginning, so do not forget to leave a like

The first season of the World Cup was held in 1979/1980

The inauguration of this season was hosted

in Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy, on the K92 hill

The competition took place on December 27, 1979

and the winner was Austrian Toni Innauer

The next season was meant to start in the same place

however due to high temperatures and lack of snow

the competition was cancelled

As a result, the second World Cup began on the same day

as the 4-Hill tournament in Oberstdorf

The inaugurations of the next two seasons took place in Italy

The breakthrough was the 1983/1984 season

when the inauguration of the World Cup cycle moved outside Europe

specifically to the Thunder Bay, Canada

The inauguration was organised in this place for seven years until 1990

That year the World Cup began in Lake Placid, USA

The competitions in Thunder Bay were held a week later

However, year later the inauguration returned to Thunder Bay

In the 1992/1993 season, the inauguration returned

to Europe after 10 years break

The first competitions of this season were held in Falun, Sweden

while the places that started the World Cup in previous years

didn't even reach the World Cup calendar

The next season inauguration moved to another European city, Planica

where the competition took place on a normal and large hill

In the same season, the competition in Thunder Bay

returned to the schedule but as a World Cup final

The following year, the inauguration was held in Planica again

The season 1995/1996 brought another European city

that debuted as the inaugural event

This time the World Cup began in Lillehammer, Norway

which since the Olympic Games in 1994 began to appear

more and more regularly in the competitions calendar

and for the next 3 years the World Cup cycle began there.

In 1999 the inauguration for the first time came to Finland

specifically to the K120 hill in Kuopio

In the years 2000-2001 the competitions also stared there

A year later, the inauguration moved to another Finnish town, Kuusamo

In this way, the longest streak in history began

when it comes to the town inaugurating the World Cup

In Kuusamo, these competitions were held

continuously until 2011, that is for 9 years in a row

It was not until 2012 that the inauguration moved to

Lillehammer after fourteen years of break

In 2013, competitions started in Klingenthal, Germany

The competition was won by Krzysztof Biegun, who became the second Pole

after Adam Małysz, who won inaugurating competition

The start of the season took place in Klingenthal in two subsequent years

while in 2016, after four years of break, it returned to the Finnish Kuusamo

The 2017/18 season was also meant to start there

but thanks to the efforts of the Polish Ski Association

the inauguration of the World Cup in 2017 came for the first time in history

to Poland, on Adam Małysz hill in Wisła

The individual competition was won by the Japanese Junshiro Kobayashi

who beaten the second Kamil Stoch and the third Stefan Kraft

The second-ever inauguration of the Ski Jumping World Cup

in Poland awaits us this weekend

Finally, let's summarize which three cities most often

in history inaugurated the World Cup cycle

The third place belongs to Lillehammer, where the inauguration was held five times

The second place is occupied by the Thunder Bay

where the competitions that started the season took place eight times

and the first place belongs to Kuusamo, where the World Cup

was inaugurated ten times

That's all in today's video

I recommend you to visit the official Skijumping TV store

for fans of ski jumping, the link is in the description

Thank you for watching my video and I invite you

Both women may be 36 years old

But the superiority game is on

It looks like Megan's up for the challenge

Tho

14

Social media

But that doesn't mean that you can have a personal Instagram

Facebook or Twitter

Megan has already had to close up shop on all of her social media pages

Cozy with puppies or balancing out

Considering that Megan was a Hollywood

Star that must have been

Most of us have to delete a post here and there because maybe the snap was inappropriate

Jobs in Walt Disney more professional

Having to give up forever

Megan has done it though

So for those of you looking forward to cute selfies or sharp the cave

You'll have to look somewhere else

8

Learning to keep your opinions to herself

The queen is known for and that extends to pretty much

Except maybe liking tea

The whole family is ruled by an iron fist

The Queen's approval

The formerly outspoken actress was voicing her opinion

Particularly when it came to a certain political leader

If you are royal with an opinion though

You have to

To keep them to yourself

That means no statements

Accidental slips

All the facial reactions

You can smile

But if you disagree with World politics or events

You can't shake your head

Megan sent a great job so far

But it's going to be a learning curve

7

Becoming the media's biggest Focus

Megan has already had a taste of this with her various

Given the winning smile

And popular response thơ

She's done a great job

Hollywood stars can also take time out

But Megan has had to accept

She's done nothing but smile so far

So we will see if she's okay with it

Just so far

Has been spot-on

All the Royal correspondence

Have said

It's incredibly difficult to meet everyone's expectations

Kate Middleton was easy but Meghan has had to Dive Right In

Action

She had to leave her name

We all know that the toughest

Part of moving away from home is how much

Megan was born and raised in Los Angeles

But marrying Prince Harry

She's already had to move to the UK

So she's joining a new family

To say goodbye

She's had to accept that home visits will likely be few and far between

And hopping on a plane

Whenever she wants just isn't going to happen

Megan also had to pass a citizenship test to even become British

But it's unlikely that we feel homesick

Was one of the questions

Megan is made of stones

So we are hoping this one

Okay

She will always have her prince

To turn to

For comfort

She had to take her website down

Listen to be princesses

Is also had to shut down her past

After years of running her lifestyle

How and When to Use Your Car's Four-Wheel-Drive System — Cars.com - Duration: 3:02.

Four-wheel drive is more popular than ever and for good reason but do you know

how to use your vehicle's four-wheel drive system? If you don't you could

damage it to the tune of hundreds of dollars in repairs or even put your

safety at risk. Now if you have a vehicle with the type of all-wheel drive or

four-wheel drive that has no controls then you have nothing to worry about.

I'm talking more about the more classic hardware that has controls and requires

the drivers intervention and nothing requires more driver intervention than a

mode called part-time four-wheel drive. It is much more common in off-road

vehicles like this Jeep Wrangler and in most pickup trucks. The term part-time

four-wheel drive is appropriate because it's a mode that you can use only part

of the time. The reason is when you put it into part-time four-wheel drive

usually marked 4-H or four high it splits the power evenly between the

front and rear axles which is great if you're on loose surfaces. But if you go

to turn the vehicle it doesn't allow the front and rear wheels to turn at

different speeds which is necessary. Now if you're on snow or ice or dirt or sand

that's fine because there's a lot of slippage but if you take the vehicle

onto pavement or hard packed dirt something different happens. When the

vehicle is in part-time four-wheel drive I can go straight without a problem

because the wheels are all turning at the same speed and even make a kind of a

gentle turn but if I start to turn the wheel a little bit farther you start to

feel the wheels fighting each other, the front and rear wheels and there's a

bucking sensation and the tires are kind of scrubbing against the ground.

Sometimes you can hear it. This is what can cause the damage and as you can

imagine if you are taking a high-speed turn and your wheels aren't spinning

freely that can be a one-way ticket into a roadside ditch. Now understand that

there are a lot of four-wheel drive systems out there and many of them have

provisions so you can leave them in four-wheel drive all the time. They

actually are more common than the part time only systems and now for 2018

for the first time even the Jeep Wrangler is offering one of these modes

called full-time four-wheel drive between the two-wheel high and the

four-wheel high part time mode it's just called 4-H Auto. Typically if you see

on a vehicle 4-A or auto or all-wheel drive that means that is a mode you can

leave it in all the time and not worry at all. As for the L which you might see

in a lot of four-wheel drive systems that's four-wheel low gear that is not

for snow or rain it's typically for climbing over obstacles or maybe pulling

a boat up a boat launch on a trailer. Most people will never ever use that so

if you're a normal driver just dealing with foul weather you're gonna want to

put it into part-time four-wheel-drive only when you need it or put it in an

auto mode and it'll take care of the rest for you.

Sadhguru on body based relationships: Keep it as simple as possible! - Duration: 13:26.

Questioner: So another topic that is like very sensitive but, it's not talked about

as much is casual relationships that exists in this

nice age group that we're in (Few laugh).

So, yeah I'm just going to say good things about us.

So, people engage in physical relationships today and what they lack is a lot of emotions

and we want to know if it's, it's opinion…

I mean your opinion on it, and whether people do it by choice, is it healthy,

is it, you know, what to make of it?

Sadhguru: Can I tell you a joke?

Questioner: Yes, I like jokes, yeah, yeah (Few laugh).

Sadhguru: There was one Mrs. Bhatia, nobody Bhatias (Laughter)?

I could change the name (Few laugh).

There was one Mrs. Bhatia, who was having her 50th wedding anniversary.

They had a wedding anniversary and the next day she filed for divorce.

The judge saw the divorce petition, he was also a good family friend so he called her

and he said, "Why you want to divorce your husband?

He's such a sweet little thing (Few laugh).

Why do you want to divorce him?

On what grounds you want to divorce him?"

She said "He has not been faithful to me, he's been cheating me."

"How do you come to this conclusions, just yesterday you had your 50th wedding anniversary,

you were fine yesterday, how do you conclude this?"

"I got little nostalgic and started flipping through the photo album,

then I saw none of my five children resemble him (Laughter)."

So (Laughs)… see right now, do you remember how your great, great, great, great, great

grandmother ten generations ago looked like?

You don't!

But her nose is sitting on your face right now.

Your body remember, yes or no?

Participant: Yes.

Sadhguru: Your body remembers even the skin tone of your forefathers a million years ago,

it still remembers, not forgotten.

So, what you're calling as my body is an enormous amount of memory, isn't it?

What you carry in your brain as memory is minuscule,

what you carry in your body – there is evolutionary memory,

there is genetic memory, there is karmic memory, there are articulate and inarticulate levels

of memory, there is so much memory.

You know…

You think you know how to walk right now, please understand only because your body has

built up that memory, if your body forgets you won't be able to

walk.

So the amount of memory for every simple thing that you do, you know what to eat, what not

to eat, how to eat, you must put it in your mouth

not in your ears.

This may look funny but you would not know if you don't remember.

So your body is a repository of tremendous amount of memory and it's picking up all

the time.

If you walk from here to here (Gestures) there maybe fifty different kinds of mild smells,

you may not consciously notice but the body is picking it up and it recognizes.

All the time it's recognizing, that's how you know what is good smell,

what is bad smell, this is this smell, that is…

you recognize the different aspects of sound, smell, this, that because constant recognition

is happening.

So, this body memory, traditionally in this culture, we called this as runanubandha.

That means physical memory that you build.

You can either consciously build your physical memory, or you can simply take in wild amounts

of memory and go through lots of co… physical confusion.

So, wherever there is impact…

I don't know if you still have these things, maybe in you…

your generation is gone, but still there will be people in Bangalore

City, if you ask them to… if you try to give them

salt, they won't take it, they'll say, "Keep it there."

Hmm?

If you try to give them sesame seeds, they will say, "Please, keep it there,"

because they have recognized many substances which can easily carry your memory

and it will become mine if I take it.

So, I don't want to take in memory.

This is the reason why generally in this culture, touching each other, shaking hands, these

things are avoided.

We touch our own two hands and do Namaskaram, because we don't want to go on picking up

memory.

Because if I as much as touch this, this memory, it remembers.

You try this with four of your friends, you touch their hands.

Don't try to consciously remember, every day touch their hands, forget about it.

Tomorrow, if that person comes and touches you, you know it's this hand, isn't it?

So, the body remembers, it's not the mind.

The physical body remembers; this is called as runanubandha.

When there is a sexual interaction, or there is any kind of intimacy which involves thought,

emotion and body, the amount of memory that is left in your system is very big.

It is from this context, they said, "You must keep this as simple as possible."

There are other aspects where, in certain tantric process and all they are involving,

they are preparing themselves for years to distance themselves from the body in such

a way, that the body doesn't pick up anything from

anywhere.

This is being done like a sadhana, not as sexual promiscuity.

So, the question is not of morality, the question is of what is it that you want to do with

yourself in your life.

If you want to be in such a way that in your life, your inner intelligence

will be the most dominant thing in your life, not your physical body,

then you must keep the body's memory as simple as possible.

This is why simple types of food.

You know, people go into very simple kind of food, not complicated.

Even now, I eat one meal a day, and I eat only one item in the meal, I won't eat ten.

I may eat all of those things another day, but today I'll eat only one item because

it makes a huge…

Just experiment and see, don't go by my... what I'm saying.

Just experiment and see especially when your examination time comes,

eat simple food and see what a difference it makes,

for your intelligence how it functions, how alert you are, everything.

So, what is it that you are trying to build yourself to?

Do you want to build yourself to be a sexual supernova or (Laughter)…

No, I'm saying, some people may have that intention.

That's up to them.

But what is it that you want to do with your life, is something that you must decide.

If you have decided that, it's very, very important

that you don't unconsciously pick up enormous amount of memory because this will lead to…

later on you will see, it'll become very difficult to remain peaceful and joyful in

your life.

No matter what good things may be happening, simply because there is confusing memories

in the system.

When something else of similar nature comes, the body goes into a turmoil of confusion.

It may not translate into your mind.

Just physically, it will go on, so it's a choice that one has to make.

It's not a question of morality, it is a question of living sensibly (Applause).

Mouni Roy: My question is, complexities of any relationship, why do they beyond a point

become complex?

Whether it's between girlfriends, whether it's between boyfriends

And specially relationship between a girlfriend and a boyfriend and husband-wife.

Sadhguru: Namaskaram Mouni.

So you are beginning to taste the sourness of relationships.

Of course, everybody knows the sweetness of relationships too

but there is also a lot of sourness.

Unfortunately today, we have imbibed this from the West again

that if you utter the word "relationship," people are generally thinking of body-based

relationships or in some way, it has to be between a man

and a woman or whatever else but essentially, body-based relationship.

No, relationships can be of many kinds.

If they're body-based relationships, usually the excitement about each other's

body will die after some time.

What you thought was ultimate, is not ultimate after some time.

It is natural that you begin to grow out of it,

then when the main draw which brought people together is kind of melting away,

without knowing why, they start being unpleasant to each other (Laughs).

Because essentially, such a relationship is towards extracting sweetness from another

person extracting happiness from another person.

So if you try to squeeze joy out of somebody, after some time, you find

when it doesn't yield the same results as it used to yield in the beginning, some bitterness

will begin.

It is important when you are young, certain things may happen.

As you start growing older…

When I say older, from yesterday to today, you're older.

I am not saying you're old, Mouni, I'm just saying from yesterday to today you're

a little older.

So today, you must be thinking in terms of that relationships that you hold in your life,

not necessarily in terms of biological relationships, any kind of relationship that you hold

if relationship is based on your expression of joy, not on extraction of joy.

For this, you must become joyful by your own nature, first of all.

If you focus on this, that you are an exuberant overflow of joy, if it is so

and your relationship is only about sharing this,

then you don't have to worry about the normal circus that people go through in terms of

relationships.

Managing relationships means, in day to day life, a relationship may not stay just in

one area of life, once people are together they will have to

share many things.

Naturally you will start stepping on each other's toes for many, many small things

that happen.

Because of this, there will be many interactions or you can (Laughs) even call them altercations,

they will happen.

All this you cannot manage on a daily basis.

People think they can manage, after some time you will see, you cannot manage.

So the best thing is to manage yourself in such a way that you're a natural, exuberant,

joyful being.

If this is so, relationships will happen, and relationships will not be need-based.

When relationships are need-based, if what you need does not come, you will start cribbing,

you will start complaining, and you will start feeling bitter that what

you are supposed to get you are not getting.

If you eliminate this need within you that you are a natural overflow of joy,

if this one thing you do, you can have fabulous relationship with every kind of people

irrespective of who they are.

They don't have to be your kind.

With all sorts of people you can hold wonderful relationships.

May you have the most beautiful relationships in your life.

Why China Is so Good at Building Railways - Duration: 12:13.

This video was made possible by Squarespace.

Build your beautiful website for 10% off at squarespace.com/Wendover.

Imagine a train that took you from Washington, DC to Dallas, Texas in nine hours… or Paris,

France to Athens, Greece in nine hours… or Adelaide, South Australia to Perth, Western

Australia in nine hours.

These train trips actually take 44 hours, 44 hours, and 41 hours respectively so the

idea of making any of these trips by train in nine hours seems almost absurd.

In China, though, that's reality.

In September, 2018 the country opened up a brand new high speed rail route with d irect

trains from Hong Kong to Beijing.

This is about the same distance as DC to Dallas, Paris to Athens, or Adelaide to Perth and

yet these trains make the trip in only 8 hours and 56 minutes.

What makes this even more impressive is that ten years ago, in 2008, at the time of the

Beijing Olympics, China's high-speed rail network consisted of this.

We'll have to zoom in because the extent of the network was one 19 mile-long Maglev

train from Shanghai Airport to the outskirts of Shanghai and a traditional high-speed rail

line from Beijing to the coastal city of Tianjin.

Today, ten years later, that network has expanded into this.

China has eight times as much high speed track as France, ten times as much as Japan, twenty

times as much as the UK, and five-hundred times as much as the US.

In fact, China has as much high-speed rail track as the rest of the world combined.

It is staggering the amount of progress they have made in such a short amount of time.

Traditionally high speed rail exists in small countries with rich populations by the likes

of Germany, France, and Japan.

China is neither of these things.

The country is enormous, about the same size as the US, and is also not rich.

While no longer poor, China is definitively a middle income country.

It's about as rich as Mexico, Thailand, or Brazil.

In fact, despite being the country with the most high speed rail in the world, China is

also the poorest country in the world to have any high speed rail.

Despite the country's vast size, China's huge population makes it very dense especially

in the east half.

This means that China does have large cities close enough together where it makes sense

to take the train rather than the plane.

Trips like Guangzhou to Changsha, a distance of 350 miles, take an hour by plane or 2 hours

and 20 minutes by train.

When factoring in the time it takes to check in, go through security, and board it absolutely

makes sense to go by train when traveling between these two cities even without considering

that the high-speed train is cheaper than flying.

High speed rail even makes sense in China on longer routes where it wouldn't in other

countries.

Beijing and Shanghai, for example, are about 650 miles apart.

Normally that would be too far for high speed rail to make sense.

Paris and Barcelona, for example, are 500 miles apart—closer than Beijing and Shanghai—but

only two high speed trains a day run between the two cities compared to about 20 flights.

Between Beijing and Shanghai, on the other hand, about 50 flights run per day run compared

to 41 trains.

Considering the trains carry far more people each, up to 1,200, trains are therefore the

dominant means of transport between these two cities.

There are a few differences between these two routes.

For one, while Beijing-Shanghai by train takes 4 hours and 28 minutes, Paris-Barcelona, despite

being a shorter distance, takes a longer 6 hours and 25 minutes.

The other factor, though, is about the competition.

Europe has an efficient air transport network dominated by budget airlines that are often

far cheaper than trains.

You can find tickets for flights between Paris and Barcelona for as little as $12 while the

cheapest Beijing-Shanghai flights go for $74.

Air travel within China is also far from efficient.

China Southern, China Eastern, and Air China, the three largest Chinese airlines, arrive

on time an average of 67%, 66%, and 63% of the time respectively.

A big reason for this is that there's just not enough room in the skies.

A majority of China's airspace is military controlled meaning that there are just these

narrow flight corridors that account for 30% of airspace where civilian planes can fly.

With tons of planes and not much room to fly planes are frequently delayed by air traffic

control to wait for the airspace to clear up which leads to the abysmal on-time ratings

of the country's airlines.

While the Beijing-Shanghai flight takes only two hours the potential of delays, along with

all the other factors that make air travel slower, help make the train the popular means

of transport on this longer route.

Other train routes in China, though, make less sense.

For example, in 2014, the new high speed train line opened between Lanzhou and Urumqi.

These two cities are relatively small by China standards.

They both have a population of 3.5 million and between them are only small towns.

They're also not close—about 1,000 miles separate them.

This project could therefore be compared to building a high speed train from Denver to

Seattle—they're modestly sized cities a long way's apart with nothing big in between.

Some people would use it but it wouldn't make any financial sense.

In China, Lanzhou and Urumqi are not small cities but there's really nothing big in

between and, at that distance, there's no sense not flying.

The Lanzhou-Urumqi high speed train takes 11 hours compared to the 2.5 hour flight and

the construction cost of that line was $20 billion meaning that, if every seat on every

train was filled tickets would still have to cost $400 each way just to make back the

construction cost in 30 years.

In reality tickets cost about $80 and trains are far from full meaning that this rail line

is just insanely far from profitable.

The ticket revenues from these trains reportedly don't even cover the cost of electricity

for the line let alone construction and other operating costs.

So why would the Chinese government sink so much money into something that has no prospects

of really ever making money?

Well, politics.

Urumqi is the capital of the Xinjiang province.

While 92% of China's population is Han Chinese, the Xinjiang province is primarily Uyghur—one

of the minority ethnic groups of China—and there has been an ongoing fairly strong separatist

movement by the Uyghurs from China that has often turned violent.

The central government in Beijing, however, wants the Xinjiang province to be just as

integrated as the rest of the country and has tried a variety of methods to force this

including moving Han Chinese into the region and the imprisonment of Uyghurs in so-called

"reeducation camps."

The high-speed train is just the most recent tactic to bring Xinjiang closer to Beijing

and this is no secret.

The central government is fully upfront in saying that the line was built to promote,

as they call it, "ethnic unity."

This isn't even the first time they've used this tactic of railroad politics.

Tibet, a region even better known than Xinjiang for its independence movement, was the last

region in China not to have a railway due to its small population and intense terrain.

The central government still wanted to build one, though, to bring it closer to the rest

of the country and so they did.

Trains now run directly from Beijing to Lhasa, Tibet in 47 hours on the highest elevation

rail line in the world.

These trains reach an elevation of 16,640 feet—so high that passengers have to use

a direct oxygen supply.

Even the train to Hong Kong serves the central government's goal of further integrating

Hong Kong, which is an autonomous special administrative region, into mainland China.

While high-speed trains to Hong Kong certainly do make a lot more sense than trains to the

Xinjiang province, many Hong Kongers have not greeted the new service kindly as they

view it as an encroachment on the autonomy guaranteed to them by Hong Kong Basic Law.

The most controversial part has not been the fact that there's a train but rather that

the station in Hong Kong includes an area that is effectively now part of Mainland China

since people pass through border controls before boarding the train in Hong Kong.

Just like any country, what having a high-speed, efficient rail network in China is doing is

bringing the country together and making it stronger even if it's bringing together

people that want to stay apart.

No matter their motives, it's clear that China is building their high speed rail network

more efficiently than any other country.

To compare, this is the plan for California's high speed rail line from San Francisco to

the Los Angeles area.

It's currently in very early phases of construction and is expected to open by 2029.

Of course that means that the time it will take for the California's high speed rail

network to go from this to this is the same as the time it took China's high speed rail

network to go from this to this but, the main thing to look at is cost.

This Californian network is expected to cost $77 billion and is 520 miles long meaning

that it will cost $148 million per mile to build.

China, on the other hand, is building their network at a cost of only $30 million per

mile.

Of course labor costs are lower in China and their network crosses more rural areas where

land acquisition costs are lower but, what's more meaningful is that they've turned building

high speed rail into almost an assembly line process where they can mass produce even the

most expensive elements like viaducts and tunnels.

In true Chinese fashion, with scale they're making high-speed cheaper.

The big difference between China and a lot of the western world, particularly countries

like the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and the UK, is that high speed rail is at

the top of the government's priorities.

Unsurprisingly given their government structure, in many ways, China has placed social benefit,

at least by the definition of the central government, ahead of profitability when developing

their high speed rail network.

High-speed rail lines just aren't as profitable as other means of transport like planes but

they are undoubtably better for countries so you have to consider the social benefit

when looking at their overall profitability.

For the San Francisco to LA high speed rail route, for example, one study found that the

social benefit derived from lower carbon emissions, higher worker productivity, and reduced casualties

from fewer people on the road would be equivalent to about $440 million per year.

As it turns out, this is almost the exact amount that the state will have to subsidize

the line for it to break even.

The China Railway Corporation, a state owned enterprise, is actually slightly profitable,

although it does have huge amounts of debts and is helped by government subsidies.

The benefit to the Chinese people, though, is huge.

The high-speed rail allows those who can't afford to live in the most expensive cities

like Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou to easily commute from cheaper suburbs by high-speed

rail.

Thanks to the high-speed rail, there are now 75 million people who can commute to Shanghai

in under an hour.

It is growing what are already some of the largest cities and, when it comes to cities,

size is strength.

These lines connecting the east's largest cities are some of the most profitable rail

lines in the world and they're making living and working in China easier but the question

is, when we look back decades from now, whether the high-speed trains to smaller cities will

have made sense.

Out of a desire to keep the lines going straight between the big cities, the stops for smaller

cities are often out in the countryside dozens of miles away from the city core.

The high speed station for Hengyang, for example, a smaller city of only a million, is about

a 45 minute drive east of the city center.

The hope is that new development will spring up around the stations but this network structure,

even if it saves time on the train, wastes time before and after which degrades the benefit

of high-speed rail.

In all, China is really the first country to have experimented with long-distance, high

speed rail through less-dense areas in its west.

In the east, though, these trains are enlarging the country's economic power.

It's just one of the many factors speeding up China's catch-up with world's richest

countries.

Even though China is building these trains for less and innovating on the construction

of high-speed rail, the real reason why China is so good at building railways is because

they have the one thing that almost every other country lacks—the political will for

high-speed trains.

Whole foods, plant-based – WHY I SWITCHED! (A doctor's perspective) - Duration: 8:06.

How are ye doing, guys!

Today I'm going to explain why I eat a whole foods plant-based diet...and why you should,

too!

Hi, I'm Des and I'm a graduate in medicine from Trinity College, Dublin.

I eat a whole foods, plant-based diet, and encourage my friends, family and patients

to do so as well, because I am passionate about good nutrition and disease prevention.

High blood pressure, dietary risks and other nutrition-related risk factors now dominate

our leading causes of death Worldwide, with tobacco bumped off the top spot.

We are simply consuming too much processed food and animal products, and not enough whole

plant foods.

This has lead to our epidemic of diet-related, preventable chronic disease.

The traditional role of the doctor is to treat disease.

But with the increasing prevalence of incurable chronic disease, it is becoming more and more

incumbent upon doctors to educate themselves and hence their patients on how to reduce

their risk of getting sick in the first place.

The evidence is mounting every day that consumption of processed foods and animal products increases

the risk of cardiovascular disease, stroke, cancer, diabetes, non-alcoholic fatty liver

disease, degenerative brain diseases and chronic kidney disease, to name but a few.

Some of these diseases have even been shown to be reversible in some cases by making simple

healthy lifestyle changes and eliminating these unhealthy foods.

We have been able to reverse type II diabetes in as few as 2 weeks and we have radiological

proof of reversal of coronary atherosclerosis that just gets better with time, such that

most heart disease patients were left angina-free after only 12 weeks of healthy eating and

lifestyle.

It's worth pausing here to appreciate how amazing some of these findings are - patients

have been able to get off insulin and other medications completely by changing their

diet, we have been able to restore blood flow to the ischaemic heart in as few as 3 weeks

and make our blood 8 times better at fighting cancer all with simple changes to diet and

lifestyle.

These are astonishing data, but what is more astonishing to me is the fact that these results

are not headline news every day of the week, and also that there is no massive push to

fund more of this research - some of these studies unfortunately have not been repeated

in large randomised controlled trials due to funding issues and due to the discovery

of so-called "better" treatments.

But let's take a step back for a minute and think about what these "better" treatments

are, and what we are actually treating.

The term "chronic disease", and even more specific terms like "diabetes mellitus", "stroke",

"cardiovascular disease" and so on don't give us any insight into the reality of these conditions

or what it's like for people coping with the burden of them on a day-to-day basis.

Like most doctors I'm reluctant to frighten people with the reality of these diseases.

But when doctors hear terms like "diabetes" we think of gangrene and blindness, and the

lifelong of injections currently used to treat the disease and the amputations often required

because the treatments are so ineffective.

When we hear "colorectal disease" we think of the surgical procedures to remove malfunctioning

or cancerous parts of the digestive tract, often leading to bowel obstruction, perforation,

fistula formation and neccessitating the stoma bags people have to carry around for the rest

of their lives.

Probably most frightening to me and the reason I personally ended up changing my own diet,

I think of the consequences of strokes and degenerative brain diseases.

People lying in bed not knowing who they or their loved ones are, perhaps not able to

move half their body or more and sometimes requiring 24-hour care for feeding, hygeine

and toileting.

Instead of "cardiovascular disease" we think of crippling, activity-limiting pain, neccessitating

sawing open the sternum to transplant veins from the leg into the heart - if you're lucky

enough to survive at all.

And the odds are that if you continue to eat the standard Western diet, this is how you

will die - cardiovascular disease, specifically ischaemic heart disease, is our number 1 killer.

But it doesn't have to be this way.

The human body isn't a bad design or just stupid, and this is not a natural consequence

of aging.

This is very unnatural, and a hugely unappreciated cause is the awful things we're taking in

on a daily basis in our diets - saturated fat, trans fat, cholesterol, animal protein,

refined carbohydrates, refined oils and excessive salt - animal products and processed junk.

Now I'm not one of these people that's been a health nut my entire life.

I ate the same bad diet as everyone else for years and to be honest, much worse than average

at times!

I didn't think my diet and lifestyle could ever lead to any of the awful diseases I had

read about - nobody ever does.

So understadably I was shocked when I learned that Alzheimer's disease, a disease which

I had believed to be mostly determined by genetics, was in fact more closely linked

to dietary factors than even the strongest genetic predisposition - specifically animal

fat and refined sugar, which I was consuming a lot of at the time.

A remarkable example of this diet-disease connection is seen in Nigerians, who have

some of the highest frequencies of the so-called Alzheimer's gene observed in the medical literature.

Yet native Nigerians eating their traditional rural diet have some of the lowest rates of

the disease in the World.

That is, until they migrate to the US and start eating a standard Western diet.

I was appalled and frightened when I learned of this Alzheimer's-diet connection, but also

intrigued, and in a way comforted - maybe cognitive decline is not an inevitable part

of aging, but instead there appear to be very real and powerful steps we can take to prevent

it from occuring, regardless of our genes.

And as I delved further into the research I learned about the myriad of other diseases

that can be prevented and sometimes reversed with diet.

Diseases I had learned how to treat and accepted as an inevitability are NOT inevitable - we

have more control over our health destiny than most people realise, and we can exert

that control through our diet.

Thus began my love affair with nutritional science as well as healthy eating.

With this growing weight of evidence, it's no wonder more and more eminent doctors are

advocating a whole foods, plant-based diet and share my passion for nutrition:

Dr. Michael Greger, Fellow of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine, author of the

New York Times bestseller "How Not to Die" and founder of NutritionFacts.org.

Dr. Dean Ornish, Professor of Medicine at the University of California and author of

six national bestsellers on diet and lifestyle inspired by his extensive research, some of

which I have cited in this video.

Dr. John McDougall, founder of Dr. McDougall's Health & Medical Center which has helped countless

patients turn their health around and avoid drugs and surgery through his 10-day live-in

diet and lifestyle program.

Dr. Caldwell B. Esselstyn, Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, author of The New York

Times bestseller "Prevent and Reverse Heart Disease" and one of the stars of the documentary

"Forks over Knives."

Dr. Kim A. Williams, former president of the American College of Cardiology and author

of the famous New York Times piece "Advice from a Vegan Cardiologist."

And the countless others I didn't have time to mention!

Listen guys, no-one ever thinks they will be the one to end up in a wheelchair, the

one having a heart attack, the one to get cancer.

Yet in developed countries, there is approximately a 50/50 chance you will have developed at

least one chronic disease by age 50 and the odds just go up from there.

Don't be one of these statistics.

The time to act is now - the old adage that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of

cure is more relevant today than it ever was.

So what should one eat instead, I hear you say?

What is a whole foods, plant-based diet?

And how have I become so convinced of the benefits of healthy eating that I have made

such a drastic change to my own diet and taken to YouTube to share it with everyone else?

Join me as I explore the ever-mounting evidence implicating our terrible diets in chronic

disease, and how much of a difference you can make with simple dietary changes for yourself

and your loved ones - how food can promote health instead of destroy it.

Thanks for watching, if you have any questions or comments leave them in the comment section

below and I'll get back to you.

And...sent.

[ Message bloops ]

Here we go.

Do you speak Spanish, by any chance?

Yes.

I got a text in Spanish. Maybe you can read it.

Woman: Okay.

Okay.

"Full of [bleep]."

Me or the movie is full of [bleep]?

Maybe I can write, "Well, what's..."

Forget about her? How do you know it's a girl?

Oh, she thinks it's a girl 'cause he's nervous.

She's not gonna write it! She's not gonna write it!

I-I-I would want to write back, just in case, so...

[ Laughs ]

How do I write "What the [bleep]" in Spanish?

Can you tell me? I don't know how to say it.

I'll write "What the [bleep]." You gotta...

-Thank you very much. -She's doing it! She's doing it!

-Okay. There it is. -Okay. That's it.

Thank you. I appreciate it. I'll send that [bleep].

So, the conversation is,

"I can't believe you like the movie 'Cast Away.'

You're full of [bleep]."

"Who the [bleep] are you?!"

So, she texted back,

so I believe the "[bleep] you" goes to you.

-[ Ding! ] -Yes. That's right.

Best 401k Strategy - The Only Thing You Need to Know - Duration: 1:34.

- Hey there.

Dominique Henderson with another episode

of Office Hours.

I'm often asked the question,

how do I know that I'm not leaving any money

on the table, Dominique?

How do I know that I'm maximizing what I have?

Well the first thing I would say is

in your career lifespan,

your greatest tool is gonna be you.

It's gonna be your human capital,

actually your ability to exchange your human capital,

for financial capital that you would then invest

into several assets or the market,

commonly known as retirement savings.

And I would say that though retirement savings

can come in many different forms,

it's commonly going to be your 401k.

Normally, this is the most popular type

of profit-sharing plan that an employer

is going to offer you.

So how can you know that you're maximizing

your retirement savings

and not leaving any money on the table?

Well you gotta know your options, right?

All plans are not going to be created equal.

You're gonna have different investments to select from.

You're gonna have a different risk-tolerance

than the next person.

You're gonna have a different return preference

than the next one.

All funds aren't created equal.

I would say the biggest thing that you probably need to do

is if you can't figure it out or you don't have the time,

is to sit down with somebody that can help you craft a plan

inside that retirement plan at your employer,

that will get you to your number

as quickly as possible with the most amount of efficiency,

and the largest degree of certainty.

Hopefully that's been helpful.

Thank you for watching this episode of Office Hours.

Netflix CEO Reed Hastings Thinks: "We Suck" -- That's a Good Thing - Duration: 5:04.

David Gardner: Great Quotation No. 3: Great Quotation No. 3 comes from one of my favorite CEOs;

maybe one of your favorite CEOs, too. I won't even name him yet.

Maybe you can guess from the quote itself. This is like a paragraph -- several sentences strung together.

He begins, "I see all the imperfections in Netflix.

I see all the things that aren't working. At the office I'm the one that says, 'We suck.

Don't get me wrong.

We're better than everyone else, but we suck compared to what we are going to be.'

Of course, in general, I'm constraining myself from saying these things because they are

too easy to take out of context.

But as an entrepreneur, that's how you have to look at your product.

Compare yourself to what you want to be, what you will be, in five years, and that should be

so much better than what you have today."

So yes, you've probably guessed by now that's the CEO of Netflix, Reed Hastings.

And what's fun about that quotation -- I'm going to say a little bit more about it as

an entrepreneur in a second -- but what's fun about that quotation is he didn't say it

last month or last year.

I pulled that quote in 2013, dropped it into my Evernote file and saved it until today

to share it with you, because it's kind of fun, now, since it is five years after he said that quote.

And by the way, if you want to read that whole article, it was an interview with him.

It's at TheNextWeb.com.

If you just google "thenextweb" [all one word], "Reed Hastings," "2013" you'll see the article

I'm talking about entitled, Inspiring Entrepreneurs: What Netflix CEO Reed Hastings has learned

in his business career.

But that was published just about five years ago this month, and so Reed was thinking about

what Netflix is today when he said that.

And if you think back to where Netflix was in 2013, it was definitely on a comeback.

It was already a winner and a great winner from the previous decade.

But do you remember Qwikster in 2011 and how badly Netflix got thrown for a loop?

A self-inflicted wound, really, by in part CEO Reed Hastings who acknowledged his mistakes

at the time and since has described it as just one bad chapter in Netflix's history.

But I love the quotation not just because this has been one of the best stocks you

could have owned over the last five years; but of course I love it as a fellow entrepreneur

and I know many of you are entrepreneurs listening, as well. And so don'tcha love it?

We see all the imperfections -- we should anyway -- in the things, the widgets that

we're creating. The products and the services.

We see all the things we should that aren't [with Reed Hastings] working.

At the office we're the ones that say, "We suck!" I certainly think you should be.

You don't want to say it too loud and, as he said, you don't want to say it out of context.

If you say it all the time somebody will start quoting you from The Wall Street Journal

or Fortune magazine and all of a sudden you'll generate a headline about

how much your company sucks, in this case.

But I think the key is that you're always looking to improve -- and especially if you're

a visionary like Reed Hastings, or like some Motley Fools I know, or like you --

because I bet I'm speaking to some visionaries out there, then you're seeing.

You know what you're trying to become, and so you're guided by a sense of what needs to be fixed.

And a restlessness, if you will.

A desire to get there and to be that thing years from now that you will be.

And now we can look backwards five years after Reed said that this month and see how Netflix

is kind of king of the world these days.

I'm a regular listener of many Motley Fool podcasts, and I think a recent Market Foolery

was entitled something like, Netflix, [Destroyer] of Worlds within the last week.

You can hear that podcast from our Market Foolery team, but that is kind of how Netflix

is acting these days.

And I like to think, before we move to Quotation No. 4, that Reed Hastings still thinks the

exact same thing today.

Don't you think Reed might still say the exact same thing?

That here in 2018 he sees all the imperfections in Netflix.

He sees all the things that aren't working at the office, and he's still the one saying, "We suck!"

I'd like to think that he is and I'm going to be really interested in seeing what Netflix

becomes over the next five years.

So yes, Great Quotation No. 3; this one's for the entrepreneurs, whether you are one

or just have one in spirit inside you. It's for all of us entrepreneurs.

Constant improvement and always striving toward the vision that you see, whether it's your

own company or a company that you work for; always looking to get better.

And it's always inspiring to see people say that and then actually do it for all of us.

It's even more inspiring when you own shares of the companies that go on to do that as

they win, and I know I'm speaking to many fellow Netflix shareholders.

I've Created A New Leadership Coaching Program For Women Executives and Business Leaders! - Duration: 4:50.

before I left for Mexico a friend of mine, a new friend of mine, came to see me

in my office and we were talking about potentially doing some

business together. I've been sharing with her how I was building a new

business / pivoting my business and really focusing on being exclusively a

leadership coach. One of the first things that she said to me when we got

together was, "oh I was telling somebody about how are you gonna be a leadership

coach and their question was how is she going to position herself? There's so

many leadership coaches out there." That was that was the line, "how is she going

to position herself so that she can be different in the marketplace?" and that

really triggered me. I wasn't having any of that and I pushed back really

strongly and said something like, "that's their own fear talking." and my friend

was taken aback was like, "I don't know that's pretty presumptuous." and you

know what? she is absolutely right and the reason that I acted that way: I am

scared. Of course I'm scared. I'm doing something that I believe I can do but I

don't know yet. I have never done it - I have never - this is the first time I'm

going out trying to create a coaching practice. Obviously I've created a

business before with ModernTribe and I didn't know if I could do that and I did

it, but the consulting that I've been doing has been work that's literally

fallen into my lap. For all of my company clients that I've had this year

and my coaching clients that I've had this year have all just been

word-of-mouth referrals, easy sales. It's not the work - the kind of work - I want to

be doing so I'm pivoting and I know I'm doing the right thing by pivoting

but I'm going into a brand new space and it's totally scary and so when she just

mentioned there's so many coaches out there (which she's right there are a

bazillion coaches out there) that is a fear of mine.

Now, the way I reframe that for myself, and I do also believe this to be true, is

that - yeah there's so many coaches out there - but, number one, coaching is

absolutely a growing field and, number two, I only need

24 to 30 clients a year and there's billions of people in the world. I

can coach from anywhere so I'm like literally [available] throughout the entire world,

it's possible for me to get a client (I mean, I guess long as I guess they speak

English) so the other thing that I told myself and I also believe is true is

that I am a person who is like a lot of other people and if I allow my authentic

self to be shown and tell my authentic story and allow myself to be vulnerable

and show myself to the world with all the knowledge and experiences that I've

gathered over 25 years as a researcher, as an academic, as a teacher,

as a business person, as a leader I truly believe that if I show myself I will

find my market I will find the people who resonate with me and will see that...

- they will believe my story and how far I've been able to come in terms of

overcoming fear and having more joy and becoming a happy person who is no longer

full of fear and worry and ruminating about the past and I've really

become much more grounded and most excitingly a much more equal partner for

my darling husband who I love so much. He's my big motivation. I

want to step up for him. I want to be a full partner for him and part of that is

taking my turn as the breadwinner of the family and allowing him to go on his

own journey and figure out what it is that he loves to do and not have to just

stay in the job because that's his job. That's the great motivation and I do

truly believe that I can do this and I now understand why it

really triggered me when she shared with me what her friend had said about

coaches and it's all about my fear. I really want to let that go. I

really want to let that go. I'm working very hard to let that go and part of what I'm

doing here is I'm putting myself out there. I'm making

myself vulnerable. I am sharing my story because that is the only way that I am

going to, one, overcome my fear of being seen as being my authentic

self and, two, show people everything that I have learned over the past year and a

half since Webb was diagnosed with kidney cancer. I'm so excited and I have

to just come out of the closet so, I guess, here I am coming out of the closet!

Stay tuned for more. THANK YOU FOR WATCHING / LISTENING / READING!

Money beliefs and financial behavior - Duration: 8:01.

Okay today let's talk money beliefs and financial behavior. This is a super easy

way for you to check what you believe, change it, and see that you can create

something amazing. How is it we can do some amazing and sometimes unexplainable

things like heal our own bodies by the power of our thought mother's intuition

the law of attraction can we really tap into our subconscious mind can we really

create our own realities it begs the question are we

novice gods so today we're talking about money beliefs think about how you think

about money you know what do you believe and you have these beliefs that have

come from your parents and they're their parents your grandparents and and on

down they come from people that you work with you know how have you come to the

understanding of the money beliefs that you have do you believe that money

doesn't grow on trees that you have to work hard for money that only bad people

are rich that that money you know spiritual people don't have money that

money causes problems you know all of these different things are simply

beliefs about money so think about what do you think about

money you know where are you with that and and what you believe actually

manifest it actually create yes that's actually what creates in your life so

for me I have had really bad beliefs about money and by bad I don't mean like

morally bad I mean that these beliefs were not serving me well they were

causing scarcity in my life I very much believed in scarcity I also didn't

believe that I would ever have money and have had a lot of challenging beliefs

that I am now looking to shift as you join me on this journey you're gonna see

some amazing things happen in my life as I'm able to shift that I hope you take

some of these ideas into your life and try them out too and I hope that you

post in the comments before any experiences that you have as you try out

some of these things so we're talking about money beliefs how

to how to switch him how to figure out first of all what is it that we believe

and what are causing the money blocks in our lives so for me for years I had

money blocks that surrounded the idea that like I believed I had to work work

work work work super hard to make any money and actually if I really was

honest with myself not only did I believe I had to work work work really

hard for to make money but I also believed that even though I did all that

work it wasn't gonna pay off and you know what that manifested in my life I

created that and I think that's what we all do we are creators and I think that

what our subconscious believes what we tell ourselves that it that's the

subconscious actually creates that on the outside so I've been creating a lot

of money blocks in my life how about you what are the money ball money blocks and

money beliefs that you have down in the the comments below if you will write a

few of the money beliefs that you've had maybe that money is hard to get the

money doesn't grow on trees that you know whatever you have had whatever

you've come up with in your life that have been your beliefs about money let's

list some of those out and then we're gonna get rid of them so I was reading

this great book this last week it's called the success principles it's by

the Chicken Soup for the Soul guy and I was really impressed with an activity

that he had listed in there for how to get rid of some of your money blocks

your money beliefs and what it was was first of all identify a limiting belief

about money that you have so I did that and for me I wrote down I wrote down

that you have to have money to make money so that's step one step two to

kind of have fun and make fun of that belief just kind of blow it out of the

water to show that belief is actually not true so for me I started to list out

all the different things that we're kind of similar you have to have dinner to

make dinner you have to have cookies to make cook

you know you have to I'm blanking right now on some of the things that you know

you have to have furniture to make furniture just as I would equate those

things I realize it really doesn't make sense that way and I know that I know

that yeah when you have money it's easier to make money but you really

don't have to have it so step two was to kind of make fun of the belief that

you've got that's holding you back so for me you know I made fun of the the

belief that I had to have money to make money here I had to have shoes to make

shoes I had to have a movie to make a movie I had to have friends to make

friends you know and as I as I did that I found out okay that's not really true

so think about what you're thinking about in your life you know what is your

limiting belief about money and start making fun of it start just kind of

poking holes in that belief to show to yourself to your subconscious mind that

it's not actually true

okay step three step three is to now take that belief that you well you know

that that started out as a limiting belief you kind of made some fun of it

and then now rewrite that belief in something that's going to be more

constructive for you so for me instead of you know whenever I have that thought

that says you have to have money to make money what a now I think of the thought

you have to have ideas to make money or you have to have energy to make money

because those are actually true and those are constructive and those are

things that I can have and that I do have and so as I rewrite my limiting

belief now I'm going to see what I can create in my life what you believe

matters what you believe manifests in your life so if you have money beliefs

that then turn into financial behavior which is repeated patterns which turns

into ruts and and habits that happen over and over and over again I want you

to realize you can choose your beliefs you can choose them and you can change

them so if you change your belief to

something that is more constructive that is helpful and then you're able to

change the behaviors that you have and then you were able to change the money

that you attract into your life and that you're able to to earn your life's going

to be amazing so anyway this is just one example of the many different things

that we can figure out what we choose to believe it excuse me and when we choose

to believe that what actually happens in our life so in the comments below I

would love to hear what your your current limiting belief has been how

you've changed that and what your new belief about money is going to be and

then as you change that as you hold on to that belief and really soak it inside

really bring it into your Center I'm curious about how that's going to change

your habits your routines your financial behavior and ultimately what you get out

Sci-Fi Themed Book Illustration & Chatting About My Favourite Authors - Duration: 12:35.

Hello, and welcome back to Jenna Gets Creative! Today we are looking at one of

the Inktober pieces I did that I haven't had a chance to show you yet, and since

it is a book themed piece and I don't have any other interesting stories to

tell you right now, we're gonna talk about some of my favourite authors and

the books that they have written. So, if that's up your alley, welcome to the

conversation! Please do comment down below, tell me who your favourite authors

and what your favourite books are. If that's not your thing, then just mute me

in a minute and enjoy the piece. Before I start rambling about books, just in case

you are going to mute, please do if you like this hit subscribe. I'd love to have

you around! I do put out art videos every Tuesday. Thursdays, sometimes they're an

art related product review, sometimes they're an art related tutorial, and

sometimes they're a crafting video. And then occasionally, like last week, I'll

have a third bonus video, and if there is no particular reason to put it out on a

different day, I put those out on Fridays. And of course, if you like this video

please do hit the like button, leave a comment down below. I do my best to reply

and well, if you don't like it, go ahead and get the dislike button. As Philip

DeFranco says, it doesn't do what you think it does!

Alright, so let's get on to a book discussion. I just went up into my office

and grabbed a whole bunch of books, and I am now surrounded by books and authors

that I'd like to talk about. These are all going to be Science Fiction and

Fantasy books, although some of them might sometimes be slotted into general

fiction, depending on where you're looking, but I consider them all to be

Science Fiction and Fantasy. First let's talk about "The Name of the Wind" by

Patrick Rothfuss. If you haven't heard of Patrick Rothfuss

and his King Killer Chronicles, you need to read these books! The third one is not

out yet. He's kind of like George RR Martin in that he takes forever to

finish books, but when they finally come out you forgive him,

because they are amazing! Each book is a one day of the main character recounting

his past to the Chronicler, who is interested in taking down his story

because he is such a legend. His name is Kvothe, and he has many other

names, and it goes through his quest to learn magic and all of the adventures he

had, all of the trouble he got into, all of the interesting characters he met

across this fantasy world he lives in, and it's just it is so well written. It

is by far one of my favorite fantasy collections out there.

He has written some short stories and novellas to go along with the world, but

you know, like every other fan of Patrick Rothfuss out there, book three! Come on

Pat, book three! Next book I've grabbed is "Calculating Go"d by Robert J. Sawyer.

Contrary to the sound of the title, this is not a religious book. This is a

Science Fiction novel about a terminal cancer patient who is also a scientist

working at a museum, who

meets an alien who's looking for somebody who's an expert on the species

who is questioning things and wants to come along on their mission to meet to

the creator of the universe. Absolutely fascinating, and Robert J. Sawyer, he has

won so many awards including the Aurora and the Nebula. He's a Canadian author,

absolutely talented guy, best Science Fiction author I read, and I had the

pleasure of meeting him once, he's a great guy! Next book I have grabbed is

"The Martian" by Andy Weir. You probably know all about it now because of the

movie. I actually haven't seen the movie yet. I have only read the book, but it's

fascinating. I absolutely love it. Science Fiction novel about an astronaut

stranded on Mars and how he survived. Next book I grabbed is "The Night Circus"

by Erin Morgenstern. Now, this one I would call it a Fantasy, but I think I've seen

it in the general fiction section at some bookstores. Absolutely captivating

Fantasy/Romance about these two young magicians who are being trained by rival

magicians, and they're basically in a fight to the death (although they don't

know it's to the death) and they don't know who their opponent is, but they

happen to meet and fall in love with each other anyway, and it's just... when I

finish reading this book every time I read it, I can't read anything else for

like three days because I'm just stuck in this world and I want more!

And the day that I am recording this voice over, Erin Morgenstern just

announced that she finally has a second book coming out next November, and I am

so excited for that! Next book on my pile is "Eve: The Awakening" by Jenna Moreci.

Fellow YouTuber, fellow Jenna, I am a huge fan of her books! "Eve: The Awakening" is

her debut novel. It is a Science Fiction novel set in the future when humans are

starting to evolve and some people are splitting off and have different

abilities, and they're not well treated. There- there's a lot of xenophobia about

them. But there is also an alien race that's attacking the world and these

people are the ones who can help! She has a new novel out, "The Savior's Champion"

and it's not a Sci-Fi, it's a Fantasy, Epic, also a romance. Definitely check her out,

check her channel out, check out her books, and hey! Jenna Moreci, if you happen

to be watching this, somebody pointed you in my direction,

Hi! Huge fan! Thanks for checking me out. Love your stuff! Alright, next book on my

pile. I don't think I'm gonna get through all of these before my time runs out. "The

Dying Days" by Shannon Patrick Sullivan. This is a very local book to me. This is

a Urban Fantasy written by somebody I actually studied under at Memorial

University here in Newfoundland. He's a Math department professor, but

this is a Fantasy novel based on the premise that old cities have memories,

and if you know how to access the memories of a city, you can travel along

pathways that don't exist anymore, and it's fascinating, the alternate world he

has made for the city of St. John's. And next I grabbed a random Star Trek

novel this is a Star Trek: The Next Generation novel, "All Good Things." I

didn't pick this novel in particular because it's the the best one out there,

I just picked it up because Star Trek novels hold a very dear place in my

heart. As soon as I graduated to adult level novels, this is what I was reading.

I read all of my mom's, and then I went out to, you know, the goodwill shops, and

got more! Next I have "Gifts" by Ursula K. Le Guin. I absolutely love Ursula Le Guin. I

started reading them when I was about 12, and then I remember one of the classes

in my high school, you could take English and Social Studies as separate

courses or you could take Humanities where you have the same teacher for twice the

amount of time and you did both subjects but you kind of crossed the topics. They

were reading "A Wizard of Earthsea," and I just happened to have it with me one day

because I was re-reading it, because I loved it, and my friend in my math class

thought that I was actually in her humanities class because I was reading

this, and 'why would I be reading it otherwise?' 'Cuz I like it! "Gifts" is my favourite of her

books. The main character has this kind of laser eye fire power type thing going

on and in order to protect everybody they walk around blindfolded. It's just,

it's an amazing book. She also wrote Science Fiction novels, so whether you

prefer Fantasy or Science Fiction, Ursula Le Guin is your girl! Next, I'm gonna rush

through these, 'cuz I have a few more. "Hunted" by Kevin Hearn. I absolutely

loved the Iron Druid series. He has finished with it now, so if you like to

pick up a series and read it from beginning to end without stopping, you

can do that on this! The basic premise of the Iron Druid

series is what if there is a 2000 year old druid who is still alive, and all of

the gods of all of the pantheons you can think of also exist, and he's pissing

them off! I have also picked up Patricia Briggs.

This is "Masques." I love all of her Fantasy novels that are standalone or like a

duology, two books. "The Hobb's Bargain" was the first one I read of hers. Picked up

a Harry Potter book, "The Philosopher's Stone." If you've been around my channel,

you know I love Harry Potter, but I just want to make sure that I mentioned that

J. K. Rowling is one of my favorite authors! And if you haven't read Harry Potter, you

owe it to yourself to read it. Don't count the movies! The movies are good, but

they skip a lot of stuff. Read the books! I also have Robin Hobb, "Assassin's

Apprentice." Robin Hobb is an excellent, excellent fantasy author. Basically, king's

bastard secretly brought into the kingdom and raised by the king's most

trusted servant, and he has this natural magical ability called The Witt, and it's

not well thought of. People who have The Witt are "dangerous" and "weird." So, long

story short, he ends up getting trained as the royal assassin and it's- he gets

into all sorts of trouble, it's great! And the last book I picked out, we'll end on

this one, is Kristen Britain's "Green Rider." This is

a Fantasy series that I started reading in high school. It's another Fantasy

novel, if you haven't figured it out, I do read more Fantasy than Science Fiction,

but I love them both. "Green Rider" follows Karigan, and she is

a messenger in this fantasy world, and she starts off by finishing off a

task from a rider who was killed, and his ghost ends up helping her a bit, and she

also- she gets into all sorts of trouble because dangerous people don't want her

to deliver her messages. Thank you for sticking it, out if you're still

listening to me! Like I said, please do comment down below, tell me who your

favourite authors are, what your favourite books are. So, thanks guys, please

subscribe, hit the like button, leave a comment, and I will see you on Thursday

with another video. Bye guys!

NaNoWriMo 2018 Day 11 Vlog - Duration: 6:12.

Good morning! Sunday, day 11 of NaNoWriMo.

Shout out to Heidi over at Listen I Have an Idea.

Thank you so much for mentioning my channel in your shout out video, which I will

link below. Heidi does these really cool themed days which she started doing in

Camp NaNoWriMo earlier in the year and has brought back for NaNoWriMo. And that

includes writer spotlight days and all sorts of other themed days, which is

really cool, so you should go check her out. She mentioned the tea thing, which

I did once and thought it was just gonna be once. And people commented on it so I

turned it into an everyday thing. (Although, I missed yesterday cuz I didn't

even have tea yesterday.) So she said something about what kind of tea. It's

like, yeah, you know what, I am using different kinds, and I'm not saying

anything about it. So today I left the little teabag thing in there so you can

see that I'm having pumpkin chai tea, which it's just it's one of my favorites

because I can't have the pumpkin spice latte anymore.

Too much caffeine and even in the... I suppose I could try doing, like, decaf

with almond milk or something, but it's not the same.

So pumpkin chai it is, cuz that has little enough caffeine that I can get

away with it. It's actually comparable to green tea, which is what I have most

other days. The other thing I want to make mention of today is the shirt that

I'm wearing: My superpower is compassion, with a really cool logo designed by

Kat Ramdeen who plays the character of Alex on Supernatural.

A lot of the cast from Supernatural will do these, like, t-shirt campaigns to raise money [for various charities].

There are a whole bunch that just came out for the winter holidays that include

this one, which she had teased on her Instagram a while ago. And I had actually

just commented to her like a week or two ago saying, "Okay, so where is that design

that you teased?" and lo and behold it came out this week! So I will link that

campaign, that specific campaign below, but you can certainly check out some of

the others as well. Obviously I am partial to this campaign because of the...

I don't think it's called a caduceus when there's only one snake. I actually

need to find that out. [It's the staff of Asclepius.]

But since the character she plays is a nursing assistant, which I was so glad to

hear her say. Although from the conversation we proceeded to have on

Instagram, I guess the script said nurse and she's like, "That doesn't make sense."

No, it doesn't make sense. Alex is only a year out of high school.

It takes longer than that to become... well takes longer than that to become an RN.

She could be an LPN, and maybe out in Sioux Falls LPNs are still used in

hospitals. Out east here they're not. It's strictly RNs, and they're pushing to

have them be only bachelors-prepared RNs, so that's four years to become a nurse

who would be worse working in a hospital. So her headcanon, as they say, is that

Alex is actually a nursing assistant, which I am on board with that. And if

she's still in nursing school, which had been mentioned at one point, then that's

the perfect job to have. So any nursing students who stumbled along here, yes, if

you're thinking, "Should I become a nursing assistant while I'm in school?"

yes, you absolutely should. That will make your life so much easier in the long run.

Please do. PSA. Two PSAs for one in that. So this shirt is being sold for a cat

rescue... a feral cat rescue charity, and so that's PSA number one: go check this out

see if you would like to support this or one of the other charities.

Why is this fading in and out like that?

Very weird. And if you're a nursing student debating becoming a nursing

assistant: do it. So now I need to get to writing. Emily has won. She won while I

was asleep, which I kind of figured would probably happen because you know, time

zones. I'm still only just under 2,000 words behind her though, so I'm hoping

I'll catch up before midnight my time.

I'm actually really happy with how that sprint went. I haven't hit 25,000 yet, but

I'm 121 words away. Tempted to just keep going for a bit, but I do have other

things to do and other places to be so that is going to have to wait until

later. I made it to 25,000! Yay! I literally just fell asleep in the middle

of typing a sentence! Not so yay! So even though I'm smack in the middle of a

1-hour word sprint that is absolutely not gonna be 1k one hour (I got a whole

three hundred twelve words done) but I'm calling it. I just need to go to bed.

But I did make it to 25k! Not before Emily did, but that's okay. This is just

friendly competition anyway. And yeah, calling it a night. See ya!

A to Z of Queer Lit - Part 3 [CC] - Duration: 6:15.

Hey, YouTube, it's Kathy, and this is my A to Z of Queer Lit - Part 3!

That, of course, means I've done this twice before, and playlist for that will be down in

the description below. The challenge of A to Z of Queer Lit is to come up with 26

queer books, one for each letter of the alphabet, and the aim here is to make

sure that that letter is either in the title or in the author's name.

However, I do definitely have one letter on this list that I just used as a free space

because I couldn't find one. I was rewatching my first video in this

series a little while ago and the G I used for An Absolutely Remarkable Thing

by Hank Green, which at the time wasn't out and didn't even have a cover yet,

so I just wanted to update you: it definitely has a cover,

I've now read more than the first six chapters and I absolutely love it.

But that's not a part of this list. We're doing books that I have read and loved

and recommend since the last time I did this list, which would have been posted in June,

in conjunction with the Queer Lit Readathon.

If you missed my announcement, I'll link it in places, but we decided to make it a biannual event,

and the next event is in December. So, as a lead-up to that, here are 26 books that

you could possibly put on your TBR.

A is for Top Ten by Katie Cutagno.

The protagonist is bisexual and this book is done in a top 10 format, so the top 10

memories from the protagonists high school experience.

B is I Was Born for [This] by Alice Oseman.

This one has a dual perspective between a fan of a band called the Ark,

and the frontman of The Ark; that frontman is a transgender man.

C is for Record of a Space Born Few by Becky Chambers.

This is the third in the Wayfarer series and this whole series is queer and wonderful and you should read it.

Also, the series, so far, can be read out of order because you're not

following a linear plot line with the same characters.

D is for Peter Darling by Austin Chant, which is a queer Peter Pan retelling.

E is for Even This Page is White by Vivek Shraya. This is a collection of poems by a trans author.

F is for Far From You by Tess Sharpe.

This one features a bisexual protagonist who has chronic pain issues.

G is for Goldie Vance, Volume 1 by Hope Larson.

This on is like Scooby Doo, mixed up with that 70s vibe, mixed up with a Nancy Drew type of element,

in a hotel, and it's got a lady/lady romance.

H is for Running with Lions by Julian Winters.

This one is queer sports.

Specifically soccer, but queer sports. We need more queer rep in sports.

I is for Little & Lion by Brandy Colbert.

This one features two step-siblings, one of them is bi, and they're both in love with the same girl.

J is for The Prince and the Dressmaker by Jen Wang.

This graphic novel is taking BookTube by storm right now because it's adorable, it's queer,

he just wants to wear dresses, it's great. Gender nonconformity!

K is for Openly Straight by Bill Konigsberg.

Raf has fulfilled his plan to move across the country to go to an all-boys school.

He was out at his previous high school and has decided to go back in the closet

because he doesn't like being called "the gay kid". Of course, this becomes a problem

when he falls in love with somebody.

L is for Let's Talk About Love by Claire Kann.

I absolutely adore this book. It's about a biromantic asexual girl who gets

dumped because she's not having sex with her girlfriend, and she just decides that

maybe dating isn't for her, until she meets someone who breaks her cute code.

M is from Midnighter and Apollo by Steve Orlando.

This is a male-male superhero romance which, correct me if I'm wrong, you don't see too often in comic books.

N is for The Backstagers by James Tynion IV.

This one takes place in the theatre department of an all-boys school, with at least one male/male romance and

a character that I'm pretty sure is trans because he transferred from the all-girls school.

O is for Honestly Ben by Bill Konigsberg. This is the follow-up to Openly Straight.

P is for Pantomime by Laura Lam. This features an intersex main character in a circus.

Q - I had to use as my free space because I didn't find a book recently that had a Q in the title or in the author's

name and this list would not be complete without The Lady's Guide to Petticoats and Piracy

by Mackenzi Lee. This is the follow-up to The Gentleman's Guide to Vice and Virtue

but follows Felicity, who is Monty's sister. She's ace and I love her and someone else might, too.

R is for What If It's Us by Becky Albertalli and Adam Silvera.

This features two boys, one who lives in New York, and one who's just there for the summer, and them going on

a first date - more than once.

S is for Girl Made of Stars by Ashley Herring Blake.

The bi protagonist of this story has recently broken up with her partner

and then her twin brother is accused of raping one of her best friends.

T is for Love Beyond Body, Space, and Time, edited by Hope Nicholson.

This is an anthology of Indigenous queer sci-fi stories.

U is for An Unkindness of Ghosts by Rivers Solomon. Although it's never really said in so many words,

the main character could be characterized as genderqueer, & the author, Rivers Solomon, is nonbinary.

V is for Not Your Villain by CB Lee, which is the follow-up to Not Your Sidekick.

This one features a trans protagonist who is a superhero.

W is for How to Make a Wish by Ashley Herring Blake.

This one features a female/female romance as well as a lot of grief and family issues.

X for Lola and the Boy Next Door by Stephanie Perkins.

Although the main character is not queer, she has queer dads, and, I mean,

finding a book for X is very difficult so you'll excuse me if I just slide this one in there.

Y is for ODY-C by Matt Fraction, which is a gender bent retelling of The Odyssey.

And Z is for Lizard Radio by Pat Schmatz.

This one is set in a dystopian future that has some possible sci-fi elements, where gender

nonconforming is just not a thing you can do.

And there you have it! 26 recommendations to look up and read. Before I go, I also want to mention that

we are picking the Group Read for Queer Lit Readathon via a Twitter poll, and

if you're watching this before the 18th of November, that poll is still open so go vote!

I will be back on the 25th with my personal TBR for the Queer Lit Readathon,

which I am having to whittle down because there are just too many things I want to read.

And there you have it! Do you have any queer recommendations for me?

If so, let me know about it down in the comments below. On the way down to the comments,

if you hit that Subscribe button, that would be very nice of you.

You can like and share this as you see fit and I will see you very soon. Bye!
