His History Revealed: A Dr. Robotnik Biography - Duration: 32:39.Well, if it isn't Eggman!
Yup. That's me.
You're probably wondering how I ended up in this situation.
His History Revealed: A Dr. Robotnik Biography
Growing Up
It all started back when I was born…
My mother, Ruth Franklin,
was around the Bikini Atoll in 1946, and the nuclear fallout made her infertile.
My father, Harold Robotnik, didn't want her to keep trying to conceive, but she was insistent.
Eventually she did manage to bear a child.
She...
she didn't actually get to see me;
she died during the birthing process.
My father was distant from me.
He didn't want to raise a child because he wanted to focus on science.
I think he also blamed me for killing her,
and that never really left how he talked to me.
The Vanity's Fair
It wasn't until later that I tried to get closer to him by learning science and trying to be of use to him.
In the second grade, I got into the Science Fair to impress my father.
He hated my idea of animal-powered electricity and expressed doubts of it fully functioning a motor.
However, the judges loved the use of my own pet hamster to power a simple motor
and commended my advanced understanding of electronics.
It was then when my father finally started to notice my potential.
He rewarded me with a trip to the local carnival.
The local carnival was, for its time, truly remarkable.
The hard-sheet-music organ,
the basic roller coaster,
the teacup ride;
it was the most fun I have ever had in my life.
It ingrained in me a splendor and desire to create my own amusement park,
and it's been my dream ever since.
I never wanted to leave
and when I finally had to, I begged my father for us to return.
He promised me that we would go back…
(sigh)
We never got that chance.
I immediately dove into designing machines that were based on moving parts,
safe contraptions for excitement, and even early animatronics.
My father saw my sketches and thought it was a waste of my true potential.
He discouraged me from continuing it.
I didn't want to lose the ground I made with my father, so I stored the sketches away on the shelf.
The Myth, The Legend
During the summer after the Science Fair, my father took me to see my grandfather, Gerald Robotnik.
He was currently working in New Mexico for the government.
We had to sign some Non-Disclosure Agreements, but we were allowed into the facilities.
It is an understatement to say that Gerald was a genius.
He was excited to show me his glories,
such as limb renewal based on amphibian processes,
unearthing an ancient robot,
and his blueprints of his recently-launched Space Colony ARK.
His thesis on the lost Fourth Great Civilization was way beyond my comprehension
but it is a wonderful piece of historical non-fiction.
I was amazed and filled with renewed vigor for mechanical engineering
that could benefit all of humanity just like my grandfather.
Gerald recounted to me his encounter many years ago with otherworldly beings.
He witnessed a large, metallic ship crash-landing near the base.
The being was able to communicate with the scientists and military, and they began a mutualistic relationship.
The alien shared some information with the government,
and they, in turn, did all they could to keep it alive in our harsh environment.
It perished shortly afterward but not before it confided in Gerald the location of another being;
the alien believed they would gain much from each other.
The government blacked out all files pertaining to this incident and almost let it slip into the public's grasp.
Gerald managed to contact the other being, and he teamed up with it on a secret project involving the alien's technology with Gerald's advancements in medical engineering.
They utilized seven unique gemstones as a power source,
which, at the time, sounded like complete fiction to me.
I was very young at the time, and I didn't realize what was going on until I was older.
We left New Mexico, and I immediately started brainstorming ideas
using my grandfather's works as inspiration.
My father was back to approving of the direction I would go as I returned to school.
The Great Divide
I got to see my grandfather that winter when he invited himself and my cousin, Maria, over for Christmas.
He gifted me a pure, white puppy with whom I immediately fell in love.
Its fur was gentle and smooth, and I called him "Eggy."
I played with Eggy long into the evening,
and I nearly missed the conversation my grandfather was having with my father.
Gerald told us how Maria had contracted a serious condition that put her health in jeopardy
...which I would later understand is why he brought her to see us.
He told my dad of the team that would be on the ARK and how he'd be going up there with Maria to work on a cure.
Harold ridiculed him and chastised my grandfather's beliefs in those seven gemstones
calling them "homeopathic garbage rocks" and spitting on geology.
Harold went on a long spiel about how technology couldn't save anyone.
I'll never forget he said,
"Technology couldn't save my wife; what makes you think it can save your granddaughter?"
The argument got very heated,
and it ended with my grandfather standing up, saying his last goodbyes to me and Eggy,
and leaving with Maria. I was sure I'd never see them again.
I didn't understand the deep background behind the argument, but I felt my dad had offended Gerald for no reason.
I yelled at him for making him send grandfather away, and he went into a rage.
He screamed about how geology is a useless science and how it will never contribute anything to forwarding progress.
He threw several fragile items at the walls during the tirade,
and warned me to never pursue a stupid legend about some colored rocks.
I hid in my room for the rest of the week.
The Firefly's Light
In order to keep a decent relationship with my father,
I kept making several trinkets and doodads to keep his favor.
I withheld myself from my true passions just to be close to him.
I would later understand just how insecure he was…
It wasn't long until my dad became more reclusive and distant.
I tried to show him my latest creations, but he didn't have any time for it
and spent his evenings locked in the garage.
I longed for his sealed-away attention.
I didn't know how much I would regret it until he came back to me.
I came back from school to be greeted by his long-gone, warm greeting to me.
I could immediately tell he was back, and I rushed to his arms.
He had a spark in his eye
which I hadn't seen in my memory.
He whispered, "Hey, let's go to the carnival."
My eyes opened like window blinds on a bright, spring morning.
I hurriedly got in the car, and we took off to the highway to reach the land of my dreams.
He had a wide smile on his face the entire way
and I didn't think to question it;
I was just happy to have him back.
My thoughts were occupied by the new rides I heard other kids talking about and which I would try first.
I still feel the giddiness of that exact moment.
My father hit the highway at a decent pace.
I don't remember going this fast before, but I enjoyed the thrill as if it was a roller coaster.
The adrenaline...
The adrenaline!
The flushing of my face!
the wind on my skin; it was all there.
That's when the car started to rapidly decelerate.
My father's lofty demeanor was replaced by a confused, shocked countenance.
He swore several times and frantically worked on troubleshooting the problem.
He pulled over to the side, and we came to a halt.
We both got out and he popped the hood.
He waved away the rising steam as he tried to inspect the malfunctioning engine.
He found the source of the problem, and, as he did, he told me to stay back.
My suspicions were too great to be held back,
and I watched as he opened a cylinder near the engine.
Inside the cylinder was a pool of crimson liquid with a floating, white patch of fluff.
(sigh)
I watched as my father inserted a gloved hand and lifted the lump by its scruff
revealing a limp head of a poor pup.
I instantly knew the face
and screamed in a blind frenzy.
I wailed and pummeled my dad's leg to no avail.
Tears burst from my squinted eyes as I learned how to mourn.
His hands shook as he held me back...
maybe from fear of the situation.
I cried for what felt like the whole evening until he managed to flag down a bus.
The ride home was blurred.
I can't remember what happened on the bus.
Anything he said to me to cheer me up was muffled and deafened by my horror.
I struggled to cope with why he did such a thing to my dearly-loved Eggy.
I'll never be able to pet that face again…
never be unconditionally greeted by such a warm smile…
never be loved again…
My heart tore and ripped itself asunder that day
and it steered itself against affections for things that are ultimately stolen from us.
When we got home, he felt he could finally explain himself.
He said he was inspired by my science fair project and wanted to tweak and amplify the power produced.
He worked on the prototype for a while and came up with a working model.
The power stemmed from the animal's blood, and it worked with a tested squirrel to start the car.
He was so certain it would work with anything and keep it going.
What went wrong was the demand for blood as the machine requires more power.
the circulation must have been too fast for the arteries and veins to handle
and they probably burst inside of him.
As I imagined Eggy dying from blood flooding his insides, he added
"You were what inspired me, Ivo
and the intentions were noble.
So it's really on you for such a flawed concept."
I shook in righteous indignation at such a fool.
His words were evasive as he tried to hide from failure.
This pathetic excuse for a person hurt my eyes to look at
so I said nothing and locked myself in my room.
The Way to Fall
Harold's love was not worth my effort.
I abandoned science and just got by with my education.
My education was miserable
and I found no joy in any pursuit.
Arts were without emotion...
the core curriculum was a joke...
and I didn't care for anything.
Harold turned to the bottle and never let the sauce run dry.
It was toward the end of high school that he began to show signs of true illness.
I imagine it was his liver finally catching up with him...
I believe the mortician identified the cirrhosis.
The last conversation I had with the waste was the fall of 1970
It had me at my usual, expressionless face
and him yelling at me about how it was my fault my mother died.
I watched as he collapsed from exhaustion and as the light left his eyes.
His breathing was shallow.
And I saw the last beat of his heart as he came to a new stillness.
His yellowed eyeballs grew cloudier,
and I imagined his insides leaking inside of him.
I felt a sense of calm as justice was finally administered to Harold.
I sat down on the floor and stared up into the night sky for an hour before I called for an ambulance.
I remember sleeping well that night and waking up refreshed.
I still had to finish high school, so I forged checks in Harold's name and withdrew from his account.
I managed to keep the rent and food for a while, but the money wasn't a huge surplus.
the constant boozing he did drained the account quite a bit.
I wasn't able make rent for a couple months...
even considering the circumstances, the loan officers repossessed the property.
I managed to take my things with me, but I was ultimately homeless.
I tried to go to school for a while, but I got arrested for loitering and trespassing several times.
I wasn't able to graduate.
The Road (I)
I bounced around from place to place, living off peoples' goodwill.
I ate disgusting, cheap items just to survive.
I never had enough to afford getting a decent change of clothes or making a job application for myself.
I was just about at the end of my rope 6 months into it.
Fortune somehow managed to reach out to me with a Bohemian hand.
A group of traveling hippies took me into their fold and cared for me.
There was warm food, warm blankets, and warm bodies that loved each other for no other reason but to love.
This roaming, ever-growing group took out some of the screws steeling my heart.
I was distant at first since I couldn't really be sure if I could trust them or trust being close to them.
The first to get me to open up named herself Clover Field.
She was a bit older than me, and she looked like she had early-onset Parkinson's.
She was still caring and held me close when I would shiver at night.
I grew truly fond of her, and I simply loved her.
She got me to tell her my past and all the pain attached to it.
There was no judgment; only a warm, tight embrace at the end.
I felt so liberated, so free, and I wanted to start anew.
She encouraged me to re-invent myself.
I took on the title of "The Walrus", and I felt a vigor surge through me.
It was the summer of 1971 when I lost my virginity to Clover in the back of the group's Volkswagen Transporter.
1971's autumn was a bit more hectic.
After a long summer of frolicking, concerts, and parties, we went to the post office to get our bi-monthly mail visit.
There was nothing for me,
but Timmy Aquarius shook as he read his single letter.
He had been drafted.
We told him we'd just ignore it and hike up to Canada
but he freaked about being jailed and getting thrown into the Vietnamese jungles.
The whole group felt the unease, and I felt at a loss as to how to help him.
Something compelled me to stand up, take his letter, and tell him I was going instead.
The whole group didn't understand
and I explained that since we were fairly similar in appearance that I'd manage to pass as him.
I took his ID against the group's cries for me to stop.
I was hardened and resolved in this altruistic deed.
I thanked the group one last time as I headed off to the nearest bus stop.
I dared not look back as I left their ranks and joined the Man.
The Road (II)
I had no idea what I was doing.
I'd never fought anyone.
I'd never shot a gun.
My actions were so illogical, but they somehow felt right.
Just as I thought, I passed the impersonation of Timmy, and I was soon headed to Basic Training.
The drill period was brief because they were desperate for bodies on the frontlines.
Overall, basic training wasn't bad.
I didn't mind the shaved head; my hippie hair was kind of oily.
However, I did find the concept of unarmored infantry somewhat backwards
but I was a dog for the government.
The harsh jungles of Vietnam were a madhouse.
Our platoons ran for our lives, living in constant fear of ambushes and night-battles.
We managed to liberate a village, but they somehow convinced the natives to sell us out to them.
The Charlies set fire to the houses while we were inside them, and we scrambled to regroup and survive.
I got pinned down behind one of the flaming houses
and I was forced to use the charred, still-aflame body of a dead comrade as a distraction.
I grabbed his searing body with my hands and tossed him to my left as I dashed off to the right.
They insulted him more by riddling his body with rounds.
Only me and 2 others lived through that night.
We hiked through the jungles until we met with an arriving platoon that brought us in with them.
I didn't want to go back, but I didn't really have a choice.
The blood was pounding in my ears, and I wasn't going to not go back alive.
I only slept 7 hours in my new 14-day campaign.
My night-watches were always alert and kept our entire group alive.
I could no longer tell people in need of liberation from foe.
I often kept a knife pinned to the throat of each person we'd keep.
My suspicions were right 80% of the time, and I confirmed my bias as I found each in talks with the enemy and popped both of them.
We didn't shower or bathe for the entire campaign
and I came back caked in blood and burns.
The government didn't know how to handle people coming back from war.
Their advice was to "shake it off and gradually come back, so here's some money and go away."
There is no gradual course when you've been scarred for life.
I couldn't hold the handles on my luggage without causing my hands to writhe in pain.
I eventually bought some gloves as a barrier from the wounds, and they worked until the nerves died.
I bought a motorcycle and I tried to reach out to the hippie group I came from
but they never responded to my letters and they never were at their usual locations.
I gave up and lived in an apartment on a V-F-W stipend.
One day when I went to get groceries, I saw a burst of flame come from the deli section.
I dashed in, grabbed the worker,
and threw them down to the ground with me as I tried to hide us from the incoming flash point.
The worker freaked and hit me to release them.
I didn't realize they were just setting up the barbecue...
The Journey Back
I spent my days sitting in my living room in fear.
I was struggling to cope with the indignity of the whole ordeal.
How can you just send frail organisms out to fight each other?
Has humanity really evolved only to reduce themselves to low beasts?
It's not even for food.
It's because a bigger beast commanded you to hunt a rival pack.
Disgusting. All of it.
I prayed for a way to help the poor fools damned to go out and either not come back or return broken.
It wasn't fair…
Then it hit me.
Could you accomplish the same thing without loss of life?
What would be the way to protect that which we held most sacred?
The obvious solution is armor.
The Medieval period had even that basic knowledge.
Hell, there had to be a way to be able to guarantee a safe send-out and a safe return.
However, I was scared by the idea.
If I wanted to do anything to help anyone, I'd have to go back to that which I discarded long ago...
Science.
I wasn't entirely committed to the idea.
It wasn't until I was going through my mail and reading the paper that my drive kicked in.
In the fallout of the tragedy that was Vietnam, the government finally
decided to release several documents about blacklisted projects to the public to earn their favor again.
One of the projects caught my eye: one involving Space Colony ARK.
The actual briefing was mostly blacked, but the causality list wasn't…
Sorry.
Maria Robotnik was among those listed as dead.
She had died before any breakthrough could be made.
The Guardian Units of Nations, a global PMC, was held responsible.
What pieces of shit… I can only imagine what my grandfather felt about it…
The Arrival
It was three weeks after that when a knock came to my door.
Two suited men asked if I was Ivo Robotnik.
I cautiously said I was, and, after they introduced themselves as government agents
they escorted me to their van.
I wasn't told where I was going, but they assured me it wasn't an arrest.
We arrived at a distant house with a large garage; I had no idea where I was.
They marched me inside and instructed me to unlock the mechanism to Gerald Robotnik's lab.
How should I know? I've never been here, and they want the projects?
It was then I asked why
and they told me Gerald requested these items for his further research at a different, far-removed location.
As I approached the door, I could see why they needed me.
T door felt reinforced and maybe six inches thick.
The door had a keyboard next to it, and it was obvious a password needed to be entered.
I searched my brain until it ached.
The password of a genius? It could be anything!
He had his hand in so many things that anything could be a solution.
I tried a couple of his project names and the name of the otherworldly beings he met, and none worked.
What could this man's root be?!
Then it hit all at once.
What was the thing driving him more than anything?
M-A-R-I-A.
"Maria."
The door dinged and slid open.
I couldn't believe it actually worked.
The agents quickly poured in and began loading their two vans with the lab's contents.
I had to caution them to be careful with the vats of liquid and the mechanical automata.
These were all his things that were off the grid.
I bet these guys didn't know what any of it did.
I saw each piece and knew its exact purpose, each memory flooding back into my brain.
I felt my face's expression crack a rusty smile.
I was then taken with them to care for these objects.
I was excited to see my grandfather's new lab.
What could be better than the Space Colony he designed?!
My anticipation was quite giddy.
Could it even be a utopia? Oh, what lofty dreams I imagined his new landscape to be.
The truth revealed itself to me, and I was instantly both surprised and afraid of what was ahead.
We were now on a boat headed for Prison Island.
What is something you cherish?
Can you hold it? Can you imagine it?
Cradle it in your arms in your mind's eye.
Let it feel your heartbeat.
Let it know you care for it.
Let it know you cherish it and would gladly sell the world for it.
Now actually be faced with that choice, and sell the world for it.
Now, after all that, it is stripped from you, and you are powerless against the force of it.
Watch it break to shreds in front of you.
Now face the knowledge of never getting that back.
Are you trembling? Has your worldview been shattered?
Can you blame someone who had this happen for anything?
This is the fate of my grandfather, Gerald Robotnik.
He came back to Earth and had a fair life working on more government projects.
It wasn't until he learned of Maria's fate that he snapped and was damned to this life on this secluded rock.
As we brought in the plethora of equipment and projects, he paid us no mind as he paced back and forth.
I tried to talk to him, but he never looked up nor stopped mumbling to himself.
This was not the same man I knew from my childhood.
This is not the same hero I aspired to be.
Did he fall from grace...?
Or had grace abandoned the Fallen?
My god did not last long on Prison Island.
He died not long after that visit.
I spent at least several years confronted with me now being truly alone with nothing to live for.
Family,
friends,
and the government had all been severed from my grasp.
My depression finally let loose the horrible black cloud it was holding back.
I didn't feel I had anywhere to escape to.
The Embers
For months on years did I eat nothing but garbage to appease my depression.
Nothing tasted good, nothing felt good, nothing was right.
I hated the sunlight filtering in through the blinds, but I couldn't motivate myself to close them more.
Futility was my answer to everything.
Working out? Futile.
Learning something? Futile.
Eating something other than trash? Futile.
Going outside? Why bring about your PTSD you idiot?!
Trying? Why bother…
This was my life.
Call it stars aligning, call it a spark of inspiration, call it whatever you want.
One day, I had enough.
I was tired of being tired.
I slapped myself hard enough to bring blood to my mouth.
Without so much as a word to myself,
I grabbed my notes and my grandfather's notes I secretly took from his lab.
And I started working.
I designed ridiculous things, things that didn't work, countless ideas.
My brain was everywhere at once
and eventually it focused in on my dream:
an amusement park.
The worst realization wasn't the scope or the design or the safety.
The worst realization was the capital required for such a venture.
I was desperate for quick solutions, and I knew lotteries wouldn't do it.
I went to the library and rented several books on economics and business.
That's when I knew I'd have to risk the stock market.
It's honestly fairly safe if you know what to look for in trends.
I took out a loan and took the surplus from each V-F-W check and invested it in stocks.
I traded like crazy.
I got tired of the caffeine driven, hectic days
so I wrote a program that could track trends, analyze data, and automatically invest in something that would profit.
It wasn't long until I'd amassed a small fortune to fund my ventures.
The Rekindling
I managed to acquire location after location.
Land wasn't hard, but construction was harder.
All the human hands I employed were slow and tired so easily.
It took large machines just to lift things they couldn't.
"Then why even bother using them?" I thought.
Well... there's not really a reason.
I could design people better than people!
A mechanical exoskeleton was easy to conceptualize, but power was still an issue...
especially trying to remove the human component.
A sudden fear burst into my chest.
Would I have to tread in the bloodied waters of Harold's work?
The fear shook me hard.
How could I even entertain the thought of his work?!
It disgusted me!
However, I did remember the image of his failed prototype.
Things were in place, but his energy module was faulty
and the returns were failures too.
He just couldn't get my idea…
MY idea...
That's right...!
It was MY idea from the start!
Animals could power machines at their own pace.
They'd be willing to do it, too
if the reward system were in place and plenty of sustenance were available.
Hmmm... it could work.
The revelation sparked me to the sketchboard again.
I designed machine after machine,
each with a special purpose and each with the same power source:
animals converting their kinetic energy through a wheel to a machine.
I optimized the energy flows and allowed them to run on virtually nothing.
And my land was quite near places of lush vegetation, so it all worked out.
As long as the animals felt your unconditional love, they'd do anything for you.
It took some work for me to get back to opening myself to furry critters
but, with practice and time, I started to stitch my heart back onto my sleeve.
My constructions and guard robots were put together through my sweat and blood.
My first test park wasn't bad at all,
and I even allowed slot machines to permit humans to give me more capital to invest and use.
I continued my efforts to help the animal population, particularly strays and the easily preyed upon.
The robot shells protected the animals from harm
but I refused the many government contracts for their deployment in war operations.
With all these wonderful accolades, what could cause such calamity as this?
My guess is a misunderstanding.
I don't know where this blue, anthropomorphic hedgehog came from
but I don't think it gets it.
It sees my robots powered by my friends and smashes them to utter pieces in the name of "Freedom Fighting"
...whatever that is.
It doesn't see the value, the virtue in it.
On a utilitarian level I felt I must stop it.
But… I can't...
I'm powerless against this… this foe?
Is that right word?
You know, the people you feel have the same drive but you are destined to be perpendicular from them?
I think this is that.
So, this is where I'm at.
What's left for me?
Well, maybe I'll dig some more into my grandfather's research and finish some of the things he couldn't.
Who knows: maybe I'll even go on a quest to find those seven, magical gemstones?
All I hope is that I don't fall into the same darkness my father, Harold Robotnik, did.
Maybe I should up the defense on the animals' protective, robotic exoskeletons?
This way the hedgehog entity that addresses me as "Eggman"
and keeps assaulting my machinery will think twice about interfering.
This is best for the environment, after all.
This is best for my dream of having my own amusement park to come to fruition.
The tentative title?
"Robotnikland."

Kong Skull Island DELETED SCENES, Monsters & Rejected Concepts - Duration: 4:52.Kong: Skull Island is a thrilling reimagining of King Kong's origins within Warner Bros
and Legendary's MonsterVerse.
And while Skull Island is packed with awesome action scenes and monsters, there are still
a number of fascinating creatures and scenes including alternate endings and post-credits
which didn't make it into the final movie.
Yippee-ki-yay movie lovers, it's Jan here and in this video, I'll be talking about many
of the scenes and rejected concepts we didn't get to see in the final cut of Kong: Skull
Island.
If you haven't seen the movie yet, obviously there are spoilers in this video, so be aware
of that or check out my spoiler-free review of the movie by tapping or clicking here.
Kong: Skull Island has a fantastic opening scene, however, what director Jordan Vogt-Roberts
initially had planned could have been even more spectacular.
In an idea that the director put to the studio, a squad of soldiers arrive on Skull Island
in the middle of World War II, and start fighting each other.
Suddenly, a huge ape appears that heavily resembles King Kong from the 2005 Peter Jackson
movie.
The soldiers shoot the giant gorilla dead, leaving the audience thinking that they just
killed Kong himself.
But then an even larger ape emerges with a roar!
By killing off Jackson's version of Kong in this alternate opening, Vogt-Roberts wanted
to establish the idea that the new movie was going to be very different to previous King
Kong movies.
However, unsurprisingly, the studio was not as keen as the director on kicking the film
off in that way!
Skull Island was also going to feature a number of other creatures and monsters.
The first creatures that were cut from the final movie were a pair of sabretooth tigers
that would have appeared the day after Conrad's team and the Sky Devils military unit landed
on the island.
Two enormous sabretooth tigers were going to enter the camp they'd established, triggering
a soldier to shoot and kill one of them, which would have sent the second tiger berserk,
killing that soldier.
The scene was an alternative way of introducing the idea that the explorers were setting in
motion events that would disrupt a local ecosystem they had no idea about.
Other weird and wonderful creatures cut from the movie include a monster Venus flytrap.
By the way, interestingly, a Venus flytrap monster already appeared in the animated Kong
TV series where it battled and nearly defeated Kong in the episode "Green Fear".
And The Art And Making of Kong: Skull Island has some very cool unused concept art of other
creatures and monsters we never got to see in the final film.
A number of unused designs exist for creatures below the water and others that live on the
land.
Although dinosaurs have featured in previous Kong films such as the 1933 and 2005 movies,
Vogt-Roberts was adamant that dinosaurs shouldn't appear in Kong: Skull Island.
The director said he didn't want to try and rival the Jurassic Park and World movies,
and he wanted his creatures not to feel "too alien-like."
In the end, the closest we got to a dinosaur in the final movie was a triceratops skull.
Director Vogt-Roberts also wanted the indigenous population and where they lived to feel fresh
and different from previous Kong movies.
But before the Iwi village we see in the final movie, two alternative indigenous settlements
were planned.
The first was going to be the Boat City where people lived among boats and other ships that
had washed up on the island.
The second village was going to be known as Kong City and it was planned as a traditional
tribal village that was built into rocks and caverns.
It was a place where the people literally worshipped Kong who would sit like a king
on a throne in front of them.
The concept art for Kong City looks epic and although it didn't make it into the final
movie, there is a nod to the original idea in the stone paintings of the Iwi worshipping
Kong that we see after Conrad and the team meet Marlow.
A different ending to the movie was also considered which would have featured a bigger role for
the Iwi people.
The alternate ending involved a desperate action scene with the team stuck on Marlow's
boat while being attacked by a Skull Crawler.
In the scene, the Skull Crawlers have broken through the wall and the boat ends up trapped
at the dead end of the river.
The only way to escape is for the Iwi villagers to haul the boat up over a rock face and waterfall
and into another river to get them to safety.
The scene was inspired by director Werner Herzog's 1982 film, Fitzcarraldo, about a
rubber baron who plans to use native people to drag a massive steamship over the side
of a mountain in the Amazon Basin.
As well as an alternate ending, there were also alternate post-credits scenes.
In one of them, Conrad and Weaver end up on a boat in the Arctic Ocean together with Brooks.
As they watch the ocean, Godzilla suddenly rises up through the layer of ice.
Although this would have been pretty cool, the idea was rejected as they realised the
scene would have been inconsistent with the timeline set in the 2014 Godzilla movie.
The main story in Kong: Skull Island takes place in the 1970s and in the Godzilla film,
it was reported that Godzilla hadn't appeared since the atomic bomb tests of the 1950s.
Now, I'd love to know what you thought about the deleted scenes and creatures we never
got to see in Kong: Skull Island.
And are there any kaiju you'd love to see appear in a future Kong or Godzilla movie?
Let me know in the comments below.
If you enjoyed this, then do hit that like button, and why not check out some more of
my movie deleted scenes videos here?
Thanks for watching and see you next time!

Jeep Wrangler Rock Krawler 3.5" X Factor Mid Arm System w/o Shocks (2007-2017 JK) Review & Install - Duration: 11:43.I'm Ryan from extremeterrain.com and this is my review and installation of the Rock
Krawler Max Travel Lift Kit System, fitting your two door, 2007 and up, JK.
Today we're gonna talk through the installation of this lift kit, which is going to be getting
two out of three wrench install and a strong two out of three wrenches at that.
There are quite a few different components to install with this lift kit.
You can certainly do this in your driveway in probably around four hours.
But if you're not comfortable ripping your entire suspension apart, then it would be
a good idea to take this to a shop and have it installed.
However, we'll talk more about the installation in a minute.
We're also gonna talk through the construction and a few of the features of this kit.
This lift kit is for those of you looking to add three and a half inches of lift to
your JK, to be able to run a 35 or even a 37-inch tire, especially with flat fenders,
and are looking for a kit that is very well built, that is very complete, and you have
the budget for it.
This kit is gonna be around $2,100 without shocks and you are going to need new shocks
for a three and a half inch lift.
But, this kit is also going to give you excellent ride and handling characteristics on the road,
as well as a ton of articulation and a ton of performance off-road.
This is also going to be built from components that are going to hold up incredibly well
with on-road and off-road.
So, if you have the budget for it, if you're looking for a very complete kit and you want
that performance, I think this is going to be a great kit to take a look at.
However, if you're on the flip side of that coin, you just wanna run a 35-inch tire, you're
staying on the road, doing some real mild off-roading and you don't need or want the
performance that this kit offers, there are going to be some less expensive kits that
I would steer you toward.
But if you want, what in my opinion is one of the most complete and one of the best-built
kits available, I think that you're looking in the right place.
So again, this is the X-Factor system from Rock Krawler, which is their most complete
kit.
This is going to include all eight control arms, it's going to include both front and
rear track bars as well as the rest of the components you need to lift your jeep.
If you're looking for a kit that includes a few less components, but is still very high-quality
components and is still very functional on and off-road, you can look at the Max Travel
Kit.
That kit can always be upgraded to this kit by adding those additional components.
But if you want something that right out of the box has everything you could want to add
into your suspension, other than full axle assemblies, this is going to be an excellent
option to look at.
Now, right over here you start with your springs.
Again, these are going to provide three and a half inches of lift and this is going to
be a progressive rate spring.
And what that allows is for a very tall, uncompressed length which is going to ensure that all the
way through this suspension travel and all the way through your articulation, you're
still going to have some spring left.
You're not gonna run out of spring, you're still gonna have weight pushing on the spring,
which is pushing on the tire and giving you traction.
If you have a shorter spring as you articulate, there's no more weight pushing on that axle
and therefore, no more traction coming from that tire.
So these springs are very tall and compressed length and they're going to give you a ton
of off-road performance, as well as a comfortable on-road handling.
These springs aren't going to be a piece of your handling, it's mostly your shocks, but
again, because you are getting a progressive rate, you're going to get a bit of a softer
spring rate when you're on the road, which is going to give a nice comfortable ride.
Now, moving over to the control arms.
As I mentioned, this kit includes all eight control arms, all replacements, these are
all going to be adjustable control arms that you can dial in your pinion and your castor
in the front and your pinion angle in the rear.
And these are also going to be spherical joints on your control arms, which means that you're
not going to have that rubber bushing that can bind as you're trying to articulate off-road,
these are going to give you a ton of articulation.
These spherical joints are all rebuildable, they're all greaseable, and these are very
strong heavy duty control arms.
So as you're dragging them over the rocks, as you're dropping off of ledges, these are
going to hold up to any abuse that you can throw at them.
Now, getting back to the pinion and the castor angle, you don't need all eight control arms
in order to adjust your pinion and your castor angle.
And the Max Travel Kit has sort of the bare bones that you would want in order to adjust
those angles.
You're gonna want to get your pinion angle in front and rear back to a factory-like spec
so that you don't have any dry line vibrations or prematurely wear out your driveline components.
And you're gonna want to get the castor angle up front set properly, so you don't have that
flighty feel when you're driving down the highway so that your steering wheel wants
to recenter.
Having all eight control arms is, of course, beneficial, though, because as I mentioned
before, you're getting spherical joints on all of these control arms.
You're going to get the maximum amount of articulation and suspension travel with having
these control arms installed.
Moving on to what we have back here, which are going to be both your front and your rear
track bars.
Now, the Max Travel Kit just includes your rear.
With this X-Factor, you're also getting a very beefy front track bar that is of course,
adjustable.
These also have spherical joints on both ends so they're not going to bind up or limit your
suspension, travel, or articulation.
And outback, you're also going to get a very beefy track bar bracket.
This bracket is going to move the mounting location to more of a factory mounting location,
it's going to flatten out your track bar angle a little bit, help with your roll center.
It's going to give you back some of that factory handling characteristic that you would otherwise
lose by adding a big lift onto your jeep.
And this track bar bracket mounts in quite a few different locations.
It's going to mount to the factory track bar location.
It's going to u-bolt around the axle and it mounts in one other spot, so you're not going
to have any sway in the back of the jeep.
Sometimes when you raise the track bar mounting location, if the bracket's not really solid,
it can actually move a little bit and you can feel that going down the road.
This is a very well built, very solid track bar bracket.
You're not going to have that sway from this system.
And again, having the adjustable track bars in front and rear, ensures that you're going
to get your axles perfectly centered in both the front and the rear of the jeep.
Over here, you have an adjustable front sway bar end link, which is also a quick disconnect.
So you have all these spherical joints, and all these control arms, and all these track
bars, everything is going to be able to move really nice off-road.
But if you have your sway bars connected, that's going to be your limiting factor.
So, this is going to be an adjustable end link that will allow you to get your sway
bar angles proper, and you can also very easily disconnect them when you go off-road, taking
advantage of all of the articulation and travel that you get from the rest of these components.
This also comes with this nylon strap that you'll mount to the jeep, so when you have
that sway bar end link disconnected, you can swing it up out of the way, strap it so it's
not gonna fall down and bind or get bent in the suspension as you're off-roading.
This kit, the X-Factor, also comes with an adjustable rear sway bar end link, not quick
disconnect because you wouldn't want it to do that when you're off-road.
You can get a really unstable feel in your JK.
So you're gonna want to leave the rear's connected, which is why these aren't quick disconnect.
But again, they are adjustable so you can get that sway bar angle dialed in exactly
where you want it so that it doesn't become an issue when you are off-road.
Finally, this kit is going to include all four soft brake lines.
Now, there are kits on the market that will just include a bracket to move where the hard
line is mounted on the frame, so you can get away with using the factory soft lines.
I don't like that, especially on the front of the jeep, because in order to use those
brackets, you often have to straighten out the factory bends in the factory hard lines,
which I'd just rather not do.
So having a new set of lines like this, is something I really like.
I feel like it's the right way to modify your brake system so that it works with your new
taller suspension.
Now, it does add a little bit to the cost of the lift kit and it also adds a little
bit to the install because now you're breaking open the hydraulic system, you have to then
bleed out the brake system to make sure that everything is going to work properly again.
But, as I said, I think that that's the right way to do it, so I like that these are included
in this kit.
As I said, this kit includes a lot of components, pretty much everything that you would want
to add to your suspension if you're going with a standard control arm length suspension
setup.
And not only does it include a ton of components, they're all very, very high-quality components.
These are gonna last, they're gonna handle abuse on-road and off-road, they're gonna
give you a great ride and performance both on-road and off-road, and it's just a very
nice, very well put together kit.
As I said before, the install for this kit is going to be a two out of three wrenches.
You're gonna wanna give yourself around four hours to get it bolted up.
If you're not somebody who's comfortable with suspensions, with lift kits, you've never
done one before, you can still do this in your driveway, but just know it's probably
gonna take you a few additional hours.
You are gonna have to take every tool you have out of your toolbox to get this done.
It is fairly involved and there's no shame if you're not comfortable with doing this
and taking your jeep to a shop and having them install your lift kit for you.
Now the first step in the install is, of course, jacking up the jeep, support it by the frame
so you can lower or disconnect everything that keeps the axles from completely sagging
down.
That's going to be your track bars, your sway bar end links, your brake line brackets, and
of course, your shocks.
Once all of those components are removed or loosened, you can sag the axles down, pull
the coils out, reinstall your new, taller coils.
Now, before you put weight back on the axles, that's the time that you're going to wanna
install all of your control arms.
First, your going to wanna adjust those for length based on the parameters that Rock Krawler
gives you, then remove your factory control arms one or two at a time, and go ahead and
put your new control arms in place.
At the same time, while there's no load on the axle, that's when you'll swap out your
track bars and of course, install your track arm bracket.
And then, once there is a load on the suspension again, you'll go ahead and install your sway
bar end links.
At that point, you can also install your new brake lines and go through all of your proper
brake bleeding procedures.
So, you really are going to be touching about every piece of your suspension component by
installing this kit.
So you are going to need every tool at your disposal and quite a few hours, four or more,
to get this installed.
This lift kit comes in at right around $2,100 without shocks and you are going to have to
add shocks because this is a three and a half inch lift kit.
So, this is one of the more expensive kits that we offer.
It's also, as I've said over and over again, one of the most complete kits and it is built
with very high-quality components.
So I feel like I might be over-selling this, but at the same time, I don't think I am.
This is a very well-built kit that's very complete.
If you have the budget for it and you want a kit that's gonna perform on-road and off-road,
I would definitely recommend considering this lift kit.
So if you're looking to add a lift onto your JK to run a larger tire, but you also want
a kit that's going to perform very, very well on-road and off-road, and that's made up of
components that are very well-built and are gonna take some abuse, this is going to be
a really nice kit to take a look at, although you are going to have to have the budget for
it.
So, that's my review of the Rock Krawler X-Factor Lift Kit System, fitting all 2007 and up JKs,
that you can find right here at extremeterrain.com.

Shocking Bible Code Matrix Contains The Exact Day And Year That David Rockefeller Would Die - Duration: 7:37.Shocking Bible Code Matrix Contains The Exact Day And Year That David Rockefeller Would
Die
Did someone know in advance that David Rockefeller would die on March 20th, 2017?
What I am about to share with you is absolutely astounding.
Bible code researcher Kara Pickering has found an incredible Bible code matrix that contains
the phrase Rockefeller dies along with the terms Chase, Manhattan, 2017
and the specific date on the Hebrew calendar (Adar 22) when he actually died.
Of course David Rockefeller served as the CEO of Chase Manhattan for over a decade,
and he was widely considered to be one of the strongest proponents of a New World
Order.
When my wife and I first received this Bible code matrix from Kara Pickering we were completely
floored, and she has given us permission to share it with all of you.
As you can see, the specific details that it contains about Rockefeller are quite stunning
These are just some of the key terms that Kara Pickering was able to discover in this
amazing matrix
-Rockefeller dies
-David appears five times
-Chase
-Manhattan
-2017 appears five times
-Adar appears twice
-22nd appears three times (Adar 22nd is March 20th on our calendar)
-At 101 (the age Rockefeller was when he died)
You can view the original Bible code matrix created by Kara Pickering right here.
In the chart above, you can see that hell shows up five times, but she told us that
it is actually in there quite a few more times.
Is it just some sort of extremely bizarre coincidence that all of these phrases can
be found in a single matrix?
Of course other researchers have been making extraordinary Bible code discoveries for many
years.
It truly does appear that information about our future was encoded within the pages of
Scripture thousands of years ago, and this is something that skeptics have a very hard
time dealing with.
If you are not familiar with the Bible code phenomenon, the following is a pretty good
summary from Wikipedia
The Bible code (Hebrew: ????? ???????, hatzofen hatanachi), also known as the Torah code,
is a purported set of secret messages encoded within the Hebrew text of the Torah.
This hidden code has been described as a method by which specific letters from the text can
be selected to reveal an otherwise obscured message.
Although Bible codes have been postulated and studied for centuries, the subject has
been popularized in modern times by Michael Drosnins book The Bible Code and the movie
The Omega Code.
Many examples have been documented in the past.
One cited example is that by taking every 50th letter of the Book of Genesis starting
with the first taw, the Hebrew word torah is spelled out.
The same happens in the Book of Exodus.
Modern computers have been used to search for similar patterns and more complex variants,
as well as quantifying its statistical likelihood.
God knew who David Rockefeller would become before he was born, and God also knew the
day he would die.
Big corporate news outlets such as the New York Times are greatly praising Rockefeller
for his contributions to American society, but others remember him as a master manipulator
that was always trying to influence the direction of U.S. politics from behind the scenes.
The following comes from an excellent piece by Whitney Webb
No one person encapsulates the enduring legacy of the robber barons of the Industrial
Age quite like David Rockefeller.
Rockefeller, who died yesterday at the age of 101, was the last surviving grandson of
John D. Rockefeller, the oil tycoon who became Americas first billionaire and the patriarch
of what would become one of the most powerful and wealthiest families in American history.
David Rockefeller, an undeniable product of American nobility, lived his entire life in
the echelons of U.S. society, becoming symbolic of the elite who often direct public policy
to a much greater extent than many realize, albeit often from the shadows.
Rockefeller made it clear that he preferred to operate out of public view despite his
great influence in American and international politics.
Due to his birthright, Rockefeller served as an advisor to every president since Eisenhower,
but when offered powerful positions such as Federal Reserve chairman and Secretary of
the Treasury he declined, preferring a private role.
In particular, Rockefeller is often criticized for his role in trying to integrate the United
States into a New World Order.
In his autobiography, Rockefeller stated that he was quite proud of what he had accomplished
in this regard
Some even believe we (the Rockefeller family) are part of a secret cabal working against
the best interests of the United States, characterizing my family and me as internationalists
and of conspiring with others around the world to build a more integrated global political
and economic structureone world, if you will.
If thats the charge, I stand guilty, and I am proud of it.
Another thing that Rockefeller is often criticized for was his involvement with the Bilderberg
Group.
At the 1991 meeting, he reportedly made the following infamous statement
We are grateful to The Washington Post, The New York Times, Time magazine, and other
great publications whose directors have attended our meetings and respected their promise of
discretion for almost forty years.
It would have been impossible for us to develop our plan for the world if we had been subject
to the bright lights of publicity during those years.
But the world is now more sophisticated and prepared to march towards a world government.
The super-national sovereignty of an intellectual elite and world bankers is surely preferable
to the national auto-determination practiced in past centuries.
For Rockefeller, death caught up with him before he ever got to see the fulfillment
of his New World Order dream.
No matter how much money one might have, the truth is that all of our mortal bodies wear
out eventually.
Instead of focusing on temporal matters and the things of this world, perhaps Rockefeller
should have spent more time focusing on the things that are eternal.
There is a God, and He is speaking to us in a multitude of ways.
My hope is that this Rockefeller Bible code matrix that Kara Pickering has discovered
will wake many people up and will cause them to starting thinking about the things that
really matter.

Photoshop Color Grading With SOLID COLORS And Blend If - Duration: 5:31.I'm gonna show you how to color grade any photo using only solid color adjustment layers
in Photoshop.
Stay tuned, 'cause this will be fun!
Hey guys welcome to my channel I'm Criss and you can find me on Twitter and Instagram
@eyestocker.
If this is your first time here, on this channel I make photo and video editing tutorials but
I also started to make some tech videos.
If you like the content, please consider subscribing and hit that bell to be notified when I publish
some new stuff.
I'm gonna start with this amazing photo, the way how she is posing is so expressive,
the whole shot creates an interesting mood so I'm gonna use some color grading
to make it look even better and more cinematic.
And I will use solid color adjustment layers for this edit.
It's one of the many ways how you can color grade an image in Photoshop.
So I have this single layer, as my background, I'm gonna add a Solid Color adjustment layer,
choose a nice blue here and then hit ok.
I will change the blending mode to Soft Light and I will rename the layer to "shadows".
As you can see my whole image has a blue tone now, but I want to maintain this color only
for the shadows.
And here is the trick.
I'm gonna right click on the layer, choose Blending Options and then I have to look at
the Blend If section right here in this area.
Let me explain a bit how this works for those of you who are new to the Blend If option
in Photoshop.
As you can see, the first layer, the top layer is this solid color layer and then underneath
is the background image with the model, which in this case is the Underlying Layer.
With this default setting, the blue layer is applied on both, shadows and highlights.
I need to restrict it to be visible in the shadows only, so I am gonna grab this slider
and tell Photoshop to avoid applying this blue cast in the highlights.
I'm gonna go with this slider to the left until I see a clear definition of the shadows.
I have a forest or something like that blurred in the background, I have some dark areas
on the water too, her hair is also dark, but you can notice that her skin and clothes were
not affected by the blue because they are bright.
Ok, but I still have an issue, the blue parts are so harsh right now and to make this transition
softer, I'm gonna hold down the ALT or Option on a Mac and split this highlights slider.
And now you can see that the transition between the highlights and shadows is much softer
than before.
Alright, I will leave this layer like this, I'm gonna hit OK.
I need to make a second solid color layer for the highlights.
For this one I'm gonna choose a bright orange, press OK and then I put this layer on Soft Light blending mode.
Double click here and rename the layer to Highlights and I'm gonna hide the blue layer
for now because I want to have a clearer view of what I'm doing with the highlights layer.
Right click on the orange layer, choose Blending Options and now I will drag the shadow slider
to the right because I need to apply the orange only in the highlights.
This seems to be a good spot here and I will split the slider by holding ALT or OPTION
and bring it back to the left to make the blending softer.
Press OK… now I have 2 separate layers: one for the shadows and the other one for
the highlights.
I can select them holding down CTRL or COMMAND and make a group by pressing CTRL+G or COMMAND+G.
Let's rename this group and call it Grading and now as you can probably see, the grading
effect is way too exagerated.
So with the group selected I will bring the opacity down to zero..
I recommend you this method as well, otherwise you will be tempted to overdue the color toning.
So.. from zero, I start to raise the opacity slowly and I stop somewhere arround 45-50%.
I think the blue layer is a bit strong so I will select it and lower the opacity on
this one too, I will put in 50% and it looks better now.
You can also change the colors of the layers anytime by double clicking on the colors here
or if you want to experiment with different types of looks you can easily select the group,
hit CTRL or COMMAND + J to duplicate it, you can call it Grading 2, hide the other group
and simply double click on the colors in the new group to change them.
So let's say I wanna change the highlights color to a bright green and the shadows layer
to a vibrant red.
Maybe reduce the opacity of the group to a 35% and there you go..
You have 2 different color grading results.
You can choose which one to be visible here in the layers group.
And also you can check for Before… and after.
I think this is a great result, but I would like you to leave a comment below and write
your oppinion about this way of color grading.
Do you like it more than other methods?
I would love to start a conversation on this with you guys.
I will make tutorials with other methods of color grading in the feature so if you are

Moonlight | Who Is You? - Duration: 7:18.With Moonlight, Barry Jenkins tells a story of a lifetime with three, clear, succinct
acts all documenting the tender nature of Chiron.
The clever direction of the story allows the audience to piece together the external events
that shape him into a man. It's not a three-hour gangster epic or a harsh
look into the socio-economic problems of Miami, it's a narrative that focuses on the dichotomy
of nature versus nurture; a look inside an individual
whose repressed feelings torment his way of life.
Even though the film is set in a world of drug dealers and people in poverty, Jenkins
rarely exploits these conditions to engage you emotionally.
The script's beauty comes in its minimalism. It's a a study into one's place in a world
full of hostile beings. Whether its Little in the first act, Chiron
in the second act or Black in the third, Jenkins cast the trio just from the look in their
eyes. They reveal their fragility with just a stare.
Each actor brilliantly displays a fragmented identity to the so called "strangers" in their
surroundings. This builds Chiron with the complexities we
experience during different periods of our life. Chiron's identity mixes with other people,
it shapes him to a person that conforms to societal norms.
The need to put on a suit of muscle and gold really shows the influences that leave him
isolated and unfulfilled. Barry Jenkins and cinematographer James Laxton
decided on filming each section with a different type of film stock, to reinforce the state
of mind Chiron is in. The second act is shot on Afga film stock,
which is known for adding cyan highlights with a hint of green.
With Jenkins placing some emphasis on colour symbolism, the colour blue symbolises Chiron's
true self. It's the parts where he recognizes that his
homosexuality is part of who he is. The beach scene where Chiron and Kevin embrace marks
his first physical acknowledgment of his homosexuality,
under the warm blueish hue of the moonlight. Perhaps the blue flashes during the transition
from Little to Chiron reflect how close he gets to becoming his true self.
The colour red is most noteworthy around Chiron's mother. Being the controlling figure in his
life, she emanates love and hostility at the same time.
The red flashes we see during the transition to Black represents how he represses his sexuality
and becomes a hardened drug dealer, essentially moving away from his "true-self" in the blue
light and towards a new facade in the red. Environment
nurtured him to be this bully, to be this so called "hardened, masculine brute" that
everyone expects. It's important to mention that blue and red
are usually seen as the antithesis of one another, with one defining his pure nature
while the other exudes his falsehood. Showcasing the inherent vulnerability while
building the sexual tension between each other in the 3rd act allows Chiron to reach catharsis
in the end. The camera movement in each act conveys the
mind state of Chiron. In the first act, the camera is unsure, scared and unsteady when
following Little, perfectly illustrating his feeble persona.
The camera is usually tight and intimate, to bring us into his world. The camera does
settle momentarily when he is with Juan, a caring father figure, which conveys a sense
of understanding that he doesn't attain from
his mother. The camera during the swimming scene is purposefully placed on the water's
surface to make us feel the struggle of Chiron keeping himself afloat, literally
in the ocean and metaphorically in society. In the second act, the camera has calmed somewhat,
there is a bit of structure in his life after all these years with Juan. The camera
glides gracefully as he walks with a bit of freedom and openness a teenager needs to have.
Finally, in the third act, the camera is grounded and locked in. Black is in control here, and
the remainder of the film is shot in more traditional and fixed movements.
It's also the subtleties in the framing that help contextualize Chiron's place in the world.
The way this film handles the vast expanses of time is done with excellency, as we, the
audience, are made to use our critical thinking to piece together what's happened to him and
his environment. We take aspects from Chiron's life and build
this character to someone we can all relate to. Jenkin's, in my eyes, doesn't give a straight
forward answer to the underlying theme of identity.
Chiron goes through a process of trying to find his inner self, while destroying his
natural persona. The final scene juxtaposes the warm cuddle
between Black and Kevin with little Chiron alone on the beach, awash with strong blues,
showing that who Chiron exactly is lies somewhere in between, and ends without a resolution.
It touches on the impossibility of grasping a concrete idea of identity, and the fact
that a harmless soul like Chiron happens to have been born in this environment.
A great drama doesn't need the firing of a loaded gun. Instead, it can bathe us in awe
and beauty with minimalist images that illustrate a bevy of emotions.
It can be the locked gaze of two men at a cafe table, or a child juts brimming with
curiosity. We can see the clear love, passion and effort Jenkin's imbued in writing these
characters, alongside lush cinematography, a thought provoking script
and performances that pull us deep below that surface with their soulful naturalism.
Moonlight was a film that was timely, but also, timeless.

Essence of Murli 02-04-2017 - Duration: 10:06.Om Shanti !
Today's Murli Date Is 2nd April 2017
( Today we will listen to Avyakt Baapdada's Avyakt Murli. This murli was first spoken on 17th march 1982 )
Murli Heading : The special blessing of the confluence age: May you be immortal.
Today, BapDada is seeing the souls of the previous cycle who have all rights.
He is pleased to see those who have claimed all rights to an elevated fortune.
Today, Bap and Dada, seeing the souls with all rights, smiled and conversed between themselves.
Father Brahma said: Your vision has fallen on such souls for whom people of the world think that it is impossible for such souls to become elevated.
BapDada has made souls, who appear to be very ordinary in the eyes of the world, the lights of His eyes.
He has made souls, in whom there was absolutely no hope, into the most elevated souls in front of the world
( Just check for self . Did we even in our wildest of dreams think that God would adopt us ? We would claim inheritance from God ? )
Therefore, BapDada was seeing the mahavir souls,
the souls with all weapons in His army, and was noticing which souls were on the battlefield in the Pandava Army of the Almighty Authority.
To the jewels of light who are constantly merged in BapDada's eyes,
to the bestowers of blessings who have received blessings from the Bestower of Blessings
to those who are images of elevated fortune,
to those who have become sparkling stars to enlighten the world,
to the Shiv Shakti Pandava Army of the confluence age, BapDada's love, remembrance and namaste.
We spiritual children convey to spiritual Baapdada, our love our remembrance, our good morning & our namaste namaste
Blessing: May you be an easy yogi who remains constantly happy and who distributes happiness with the awareness of your fortune and the Bestower of Fortune.
The confluence age is the age of happiness, the age of pleasure.
Therefore, remain constantly happy and distribute happiness.
Always remember your fortune and the Bestower of Fortune.
Having found the Father, you have found everything.
This awareness will make you an easy yogi.
People of the world say: You cannot find God without some hardship, whereas you say that you have found the Father while sitting at home.
You found what you never even thought of. You found the Ocean of Happiness. Maintain this happiness. This is easy yoga
Slogan: Those who carry out every task with cleanliness and in the right way are true Brahmins.
Om Shanti !

Who, me? (alright!)
Why? (hey, man!)
Feet don't fail me now
Take me to the finish line
Oh, my heart, it breaks every step that I take
But I'm hoping at the gates, they'll tell me that you're mine
Walking through the city streets, is it by mistake or design?
I feel so alone on a Friday night
Can you make it feel like home, if I tell you you're mine?
It's like I told you, honey
Don't make me sad, don't make me cry
Sometimes love is not enough and the road gets tough
I don't know why
Keep making me laugh – Let's go get high
The road is long, we carry on
Try to have fun in the meantime
Come and take a walk on the wild side
Let me kiss you hard in the pouring rain
You like your girls insane
Choose your last words, this is the last time
'Cause you and I, we were born to die
Lost, but now I am found
I can see, but once I was blind
I was so confused as a little child
Tried to take what I could get, scared that I couldn't find

Queen of Saigon
Tell me I'm your national anthem
Booyah baby, bow down
Making me so wow now
Tell me I'm your national anthem
Sugar sugar, how now
Take your body downtown
Red, white, blue is in the sky
Summer's in the air and baby, heaven's in your eyes
I'm your national anthem
Money is the anthem
God, you're so handsome
Money is the anthem of success
Money is the anthem
God, you're so handsome
Money is the anthem of success
Money is the anthem
God, you're so handsome
Money is the anthem of success
Money is the anthem
God, you're so handsome
Money is the anthem of success
All my friends tell me I should move on
I'm lying in the ocean singing your song
Ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah
That's how you sang it
Loving you forever can't be wrong
Even though you're not here, won't move on
Ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah
That's how we played it
And there's no remedy for memory, your face is like a melody
It won't leave my head
Your soul is haunting me and telling me that everything is fine
But I wish I was dead
(Dead, like you)
Every time I close my eyes, it's like a dark paradise
No one compares to you
I'm scared that you won't be waiting on the other side
Every time I close my eyes, it's like a dark paradise
No one compares to you
I'm scared that you won't be waiting on the other side
All my friends ask me why I stay strong
Tell 'em when you find true love, it lives on
Ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah
That's why I stay here
And there's no remedy for memory, your face is like a melody
It won't leave my head
Your soul is haunting me and telling me that everything is fine
But I wish I was dead
(Dead, like you)
Every time I close my eyes, it's like a dark paradise
No one compares to you
I'm scared that you won't be waiting on the other side
Every time I close my eyes, it's like a dark paradise
No one compares to you
But there's no you except in my dreams tonight
Oh-oh-oh-oh-hah-hah-hah-hah
I don't wanna wake up from this tonight
Oh-oh-oh-oh-hah-hah-hah-hah
I don't wanna wake up from this tonight
There's no relief, I see you in my sleep
And everybody's rushing me, but I can feel you touching me
There's no release, I feel you in my dreams
Telling me I'm fine
Every time I close my eyes, it's like a dark paradise
No one compares to you
I'm scared that you won't be waiting on the other side (Dead, like you)
Every time I close my eyes, it's like a dark paradise
No one compares to you
But there's no you except in my dreams tonight
Oh-oh-oh-oh-hah-hah-hah-hah
I don't wanna wake up from this tonight
Oh-oh-oh-oh-hah-hah-hah-hah
I don't wanna wake up from this tonight
Not even they can stop me now
Boy, I be flying overhead
Their heavy words can't bring me down
Boy, I've been raised from the dead
No one even knows how hard life was
I don't even think about it now because
I've finally found you
(Oh, sing it to me)
Now my life is sweet like cinnamon
Like a fucking dream I'm living in
Baby, love me cause I'm playing on the radio
(How do you like me now?)
Lick me up and take me like a vitamin
Cause my body's sweet like sugar venom, oh yeah
Baby, love me cause I'm playing on the radio
(How do you like me now?)
American dreams came true somehow
I swore I'd chase 'em 'til I was dead
I heard the streets were paved with gold
That's what my father said
No one even knows what life was like
Now I'm in LA and it's paradise
I've finally found you
(Oh, sing it to me)
Now my life is sweet like cinnamon
Like a fucking dream I'm living in
Baby, love me cause I'm playing on the radio
(How do you like me now?)
Lick me up and take me like a vitamin
Cause my body's sweet like sugar venom, oh yeah
Baby, love me cause I'm playing on the radio
(How do you like me now?)
Sweet like cinnamon
Like a fucking dream I'm living in
Baby, love me cause I'm playing on the radio
(How do you like me now?)
Sweet like cinnamon
Like a fucking dream I'm living in
I've finally found you
(Oh, sing it to me)
Now my life is sweet like cinnamon
Like a fucking dream I'm living in
Baby, love me cause I'm playing on the radio
(How do you like me now?)
Lick me up and take me like a vitamin
Cause my body's sweet like sugar venom, oh yeah
Baby, love me cause I'm playing on the radio
(How do you like me now?)
Darling, darling
Doesn't have a problem lying to herself
Cause her liquor's top shelf
It's alarming, honestly, how charming she can be
Fooling everyone, telling them she's having fun
She says, "You don't want to be like me
Don't wanna see all the things I've seen"
I'm dying, I'm dying
She says, "You don't want to get this way
Famous and dumb at an early age"
Lying, I'm lying
The boys, the girls
They all like Carmen
She gives them butterflies, bats her cartoon eyes
She laughs like God
Her mind's like a diamond
Audiotune lies
She's still shining
Like lightning, woah
White lightning
Carmen, Carmen
Staying up till morning
Only seventeen, but she walks the streets so mean
It's alarming, truly, how disarming you can be
Eating soft ice cream
Coney Island queen
She says, "you don't want to be like me
Looking for fun, getting high for free"
I'm dying, I'm dying
She says, "You don't want to get this way
Street walk at night, and a star by day"
It's tiring, tiring
The boys, the girls
They all like Carmen
She gives them butterflies, bats her cartoon eyes
She laughs like God
Her mind's like a diamond
Audiotune lies
She's still shining
Like lightning, woah
White lightning
Baby's all dressed up, with nowhere to go
That's the little story of the girl you know
Relying on the kindness of strangers
Tying cherry knots
Smiling, doing party favours
Put your red dress on, put your lipstick on
Sing your song, song, now the camera's on
And you're alive again
Mon amour, je sais que tu m'aimes aussi
Tu as besoin de moi, tu as besoin de moi dans ta vie
Tu ne peux vivre sans moi
Et je mourrais sans toi
Je tuerais pour toi
The boys, the girls
They all like Carmen
She gives them butterflies, bats her cartoon eyes
She laughs like God
Her mind's like a diamond
Audiotune lies
She's still shining
Like lightning, woah
White lightning
Like lightning, woah
White lightning
Darling, darling
Doesn't have a problem lying to herself
Cause her liquor's top shelf
You said I was the most exotic flower
Holding me close in our final hour
I don't know how you convince them and get them, boy
I don't know what you do
It's unbelievable
And I don't know how you get over, get over
Someone as dangerous, tainted and flawed as you
One for the money, two for the show
I love you honey
I'm ready, I'm ready to go
How did you get that way? I don't know
You're screwed up and brilliant
You look like a million dollar man
So why is my heart broke?
You got the world but baby at what price?
Something so strange, hard to define
It isn't that hard boy to like you or love you
I'd follow you down down down
You're unbelievable
If you're going crazy just grab me and take me
I'd follow you down down down, anywhere anywhere
One for the money, two for the show
I love you honey
I'm ready, I'm ready to go
How did you get that way? I don't know
You're screwed up and brilliant
You look like a million dollar man
So why is my heart broke?
One for the money, two for the show
I love you honey
I'm ready, I'm ready to go
How did you get that way? I don't know
You're screwed up and brilliant
You look like a million dollar man
So why is my heart broke?
I don't know
You're screwed up, you're brilliant
You look like a million dollar man
So why is my heart broke?
Kiss me hard before you go
Summertime sadness
I just wanted you to know
That, baby, you the best
I got my red dress on tonight
Dancing in the dark in the pale moonlight
Done my hair up real big, beauty queen style
High heels off, I'm feeling alive
Oh, my God, I feel it in the air
Telephone wires above are sizzling like a snare
Honey, I'm on fire, I feel it everywhere
Nothing scares me anymore
(One, two, three, four)
Kiss me hard before you go
Summertime sadness
I just wanted you to know
That, baby, you the best
I got that summertime, summertime sadness
S-s-summertime, summertime sadness
Got that summertime, summertime sadness
Oh, oh oh, oh oh
I'm feelin' electric tonight
Cruising down the coast goin' 'bout 99
Got my bad baby by my heavenly side
I know if I go, I'll die happy tonight
Oh, my God, I feel it in the air
Telephone wires above are sizzling like a snare
Honey, I'm on fire, I feel it everywhere
Nothing scares me anymore
(One, two, three, four)
Kiss me hard before you go
Summertime sadness
I just wanted you to know
That baby, you the best
I got that summertime, summertime sadness
S-s-summertime, summertime sadness
Got that summertime, summertime sadness
Oh, oh oh, oh oh
Think I'll miss you forever
Like the stars miss the sun in the morning skies
Later's better than never
Even if you're gone I'm gonna drive, drive, drive
I got that summertime, summertime sadness
S-s-summertime, summertime sadness
Got that summertime, summertime sadness
Oh, oh oh, oh oh
Kiss me hard before you go
Summertime sadness
I just wanted you to know
That, baby, you the best
I got that summertime, summertime sadness
S-s-summertime, summertime sadness
Got that summertime, summertime sadness
Oh, oh oh, oh oh
Remember how we used to party up all night
Sneaking out and looking for a taste of real life
Drinking in the small town firelight
(Pabst Blue Ribbon on ice)
Sweet sixteen and we had arrived
Walking down the streets as they whistle, "Hi, hi!"
Stealin' police cars with the senior guys
Teachers said we'd never make it out alive
There she was, my new best friend
High heels in her hand, swayin' in the wind
While she starts to cry, mascara running' down her little Bambi eyes:
"Lana, how I hate those guys."
This is what makes us girls
We all look for heaven and we put our love first
Something that we'd die for, it's our curse
Don't cry about it, don't cry about it
This is what makes us girls
We don't stick together cause we put our love first
Don't cry about him, don't cry about him
It's all gonna happen
And that's where the beginning of the end begun
Everybody knew that we had too much fun
We were skipping school and drinking on the job
With the boss
Sweet sixteen and we had arrived
Baby's table dancing' at the local dive
Cheering our names in the pink spotlight
Drinking cherry schnapps in the velvet night
Yo we used to go break into the hotel pool
Glimmering, we'd swim
Running from the cops in our black bikini tops
Screaming, "Get us while we're hot. Get us while we're hot"
(C'mon, take a shot)
This is what makes us girls
We all look for heaven and we put our love first
Something' that we'd die for, it's our curse
Don't cry about it, don't cry about it
This is what makes us girls
We don't stick together cause we put our love first
Don't cry about him, don't cry about him
It's all gonna happen
The prettiest in-crowd that you had ever seen
Ribbons in our hair and our eyes gleamed mean
A freshmen generation of degenerate beauty queens
And you know something?
They were the only friends I ever had
We got into trouble and when stuff got bad
I got sent away, I was waving on the train platform
Crying cause I know I'm never coming back
This is what makes us girls
We all look for heaven and we put our love first
Something' that we'd die for, it's our curse
Don't cry about it, don't cry about it
This is what makes us girls
We don't stick together cause we put our love first
Don't cry about him, don't cry about him
It's all gonna happen
Everything I want, I have
Money, notoriety and rivieras
I even think I found God
In the flashbulbs of the pretty cameras
Pretty cameras, pretty cameras
Am I glamorous? Tell me, am I glamorous?
Hello? Hello?
Ca-can you hear me?
I can be your china doll if you want to see me fall
Boy, you're so dope
Your love is deadly
Tell me life is beautiful, they all think I have it all
I've nothing without you
All my dreams and all the lights mean
Nothing without you
Summertime is nice and hot
And my life is sweet like vanilla is
Gold and silver-lined my heart
But burned into my brain are these stolen images
Stolen images, baby, stolen images
Can you picture it? Babe, that life we could've lived
Hello? Hello?
Ca-can you hear me?
I can be your china doll if you want to see me fall
Boy, you're so dope
Your love is deadly
Tell me life is beautiful, they all think I have it all
I've nothing without you
All my dreams and all the lights mean
Nothing without you
We were two kids just tryin' to get out
Lived on the dark side of the American dream
We would dance all night, play our music loud
But when we grew up, nothing was what it seemed
Hello? Hello?
Ca-can you hear me?
I can be your china doll if you want to see me fall
Boy, you're so dope
Your love is deadly
Tell me life is beautiful, they all think I have it all
I've nothing without you
All my dreams and all the lights mean
Nothing without you
Hello? Hello?
Ca-can you hear me?
I can be your china doll if you want to see me fall
Boy, you're so dope
Your love is deadly
Tell me life is beautiful, they all think I have it all
I've nothing without you
All my dreams and all the lights mean
Nothing without you
All my dreams and all the lights mean
Nothing if I can't have you
Would you be mine?
Would you be my baby tonight?
Could be kissing my fruit punch lips in the bright sunshine
Cause I like you quite a lot, everything you got
Don't you know? It's you that I adore
Though I make the boys fall like dominoes
Kiss me in the d-a-r-k dark tonight
(D-a-r-k, do it my way)
Kiss me in the p-a-r-k park tonight
(P-a-r-k, let them all say)
Hey Lolita, hey! Hey Lolita, hey!
I know what the boys want, I'm not gonna play
Hey Lolita, hey! Hey Lolita, hey!
Whistle all you want, but I'm not gonna stay
No more skipping rope
Skipping heartbeats with the boys downtown
Just you and me feeling the heat
Even when the sun goes down
I could be yours, I could be your baby tonight
Topple you down from your sky 40 stories high
Shining like a God, can't believe I caught you and so
Look at what I bought, not a second thought - oh, Romeo
Kiss me in the d-a-r-k dark tonight
(D-a-r-k, do it my way)
Kiss me in the p-a-r-k park tonight
(P-a-r-k, let them all say)
Hey Lolita, hey! Hey Lolita, hey!
I know what the boys want, I'm not gonna play
Hey Lolita, hey! Hey Lolita, hey!
Whistle all you want, but I'm not gonna stay
No more skipping rope
Skipping heartbeats with the boys downtown
Just you and me feeling the heat
Even when the sun goes down
I want my cake and I want to eat it too
I want to have fun and be in love with you
I know that I'm a mess with my long hair
And my suntan, short dress, bare feet
I don't care what they say about
What they say about me
Because I know that it's l-o-v-e
You make me happy, you make me happy
And I never listen to anyone
(Let them all say!)
Hey Lolita, hey! Hey Lolita, hey!
I know what the boys want, I'm not gonna play
Hey Lolita, hey! Hey Lolita, hey!
Whistle all you want, but I'm not gonna stay
No more skipping rope
Skipping heartbeats with the boys downtown
Just you and me feeling the heat
Even when the sun goes down
Let's get out of this town, baby, we're on fire
Everyone around here seems to be going down, down, down
If you stick with me, I can take you higher and higher
It feels like all of our friends are lost
Nobody's found, found, found
I got so scared, I thought no one could save me
You came along, scooped me up like a baby
Every now and then the stars align
Boy and girl meet by the great design
Could it be that you and me are the lucky ones
Everybody told me love was blind
Then I saw your face and you blew my mind
Finally you and me are the lucky ones this time
Boy, get into my car, got a bad desire
You know that we'll never leave if we don't get out now, now, now
You're a careless con and you're a crazy liar, but baby
Nobody can compare to the way you get down, down, down
I tried so hard to act nice like a lady
You taught me that it was good to be crazy
Every now and then the stars align
Boy and girl meet by the great design
Could it be that you and me are the lucky ones
Everybody told me love was blind
Then I saw your face and you blew my mind
Finally you and me are the lucky ones this time
Feels like, feels like, you know it feels like
Falling in love for the first time
Feels like, feels like, you know it feels like
Falling in love
Every now and then the stars align
Boy and girl meet by the great design
Could it be that you and me are the lucky ones
Everybody told me love was blind
Then I saw your face and you blew my mind
Finally you and me are the lucky ones this time

This is how I speak Spanish (Subtitles in English) - Duration: 2:35.Hi everyone, today I wanted to make a video in spanish and talk a bit about my
current level in spanish. How I speak, my accent, how I am still learning more.
First let's talk about what it means to be able to "speak" another language. Or what does it mean
to be "fluent"? Well, I'm a spanish teacher, but that doesn't mean that
I always speak 100% correctly, or that I have nothing left to learn.
No, not at all. I am always learning new things, and I always am trying to improve
even more. I learn new words almost every day, even in English, my native language.
So sometimes I mess up. Sometimes I forget the words in spanish. And I still have a gringo accent.
But I DO speak spanish. Maybe I'm not good enough to be a translator for the United Nations,
or anything like that. But why would I care about that? That was never my objective.
So what CAN I do in spanish? Well I can talk with my latino friends. I can watch movies
and listen to music. I can talk to the employees at the store, or I can order food
when I'm at a mexican restaurant, and honestly, that's all I really want to do in spanish.
That's all I need to be able to do. So it doesn't bother me that I make mistakes every once in a while.
But I know some people that are learning other languages and they don't want to speak
because they are afraid of messing up. What?! You don't want to practice because you make mistakes?
That is utterly ridiculous! How are you going to improve in your target language if you're too afraid to practice?
You have the wrong objective. Listen to me. Don't set yourself the goal of learning to speak perfectly.
It would be better to set the goal of making as many mistakes as possible. Seriously. Make thousands of mistakes.
Use bad grammar, and speak with an accent, and don't be ashamed! And I promise you, if you do that you are going to learn FAST.
And that's when you are going to start improving. So I want to encourage you to speak as much as possible. And don't be afraid,
just practice at every opportunity that you have. And that's all I wanted to say in this video,
So thanks for watching, and I'll see you guys later.

La La Land and Hollywood Whiteness - Duration: 4:32.Not even going to pretend that I just stopped my previous video and started recording again.
Let's talk about La La Land.
The movie everyone has been talking about and raving about and just loving so, so much.
Let's talk about why I'm not a fan.
First off, initially when I watched the previews for La La Land.
Just the music, it showed aspects of magical realism and I thought
oh this could be a really cool movie.
I did automatically go into it with a negative vibe of knowing that I may not like this movie
because of the fact that it was two white leads.
Nothing against Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling.
Clearly they're both very talented actors and we saw in "Crazy, Stupid, Love" how they
have great on-screen chemistry.
But I've just gotten to this point where whenever I see a movie with white leads, I think "why?"
What was the reasoning behind choosing that instead of literally anyone else.
Let's be honest for a second, that opening number with all the people of color dancing
around was like a slap to the face of look at all the talent you could have cast, but
we chose these white leads who can barely dance and sing.
So that's the point of view I was going into when watching this movie.
I thought I'm not going to like it and really there was nothing that convinced me otherwise
in watching the movie.
The music, yes, is very charming.
I do enjoy the music so I thought is it really just the casting, or is it this entire story
that is bothering me so I turned to the screenplay.
I read the screenplay and wanted to figure out is it the story or is it the casting.
And I found the screenplay to be this very whimsical story of two people who were seemingly
parallel for a while in their dreams, in their careers in Los Angeles, but ultimately things
turned out a different way.
It's two people trying to accomplish their dreams, which really anyone can relate to.
Sure with Mia you never actually see her succeed.
You see her status, but you never see what she accomplished versus with Sebastian, you
do see all of his success and dreams come true.
We know Mia's rich and married and has a child, but we don't know
if she's happy in the work she's doing.
With Sebastian, we knew he always wanted his own jazz club.
That was the goal.
And at the end you're like, this is great he accomplished his dream.
With Mia, was the goal just fame and so she accomplished fame?
That was something that after watching it and reading it, I still had an issue with that.
Visually, this movie calls back to a lot of classic Hollywood movies.
It has that classic Hollywood feel.
It makes you want to remember the movies of the good old days or whatever
Damien Chazelle is trying to say there.
In doing that then, how cool would it have been to see two actors of color
in this classic Hollywood story.
You know the movies from back then that would only have white actors, and
would do black face and make fun of people of color.
This was a book I had in college called "America on Film" by Henry Benshoff and Sean Griffin.
It talks a lot about representing race, class, gender, and sexuality at the movies.
In the chapter discussing the concept of whiteness in movies, it talks about
how white is seen as the default.
"The Hollywood assumption is that all viewers, whatever their racial identification, should
be able to identify with white characters, but that the reverse is seldom true."
"Hollywood tends to spend more money on white stars in white movies and far less money on
non-white actors in overtly racial or ethnic properties."
That classic Hollywood narrative encourages you to identify with the white protagonist.
And they'll have people of color as the supporting characters, as with
John Legend's character Keith in La La Land.
Another great point says "Whiteness represents itself as moral and good while non-white groups
are frequently characterized as immoral or inferior."
Sebastian in this movie is portrayed as having that superior knowledge of jazz.
He's the one who's going to save jazz, he loves jazz, he's going to bring jazz to all
the homes in America.
Whereas Keith's character is the one who's tearing jazz down by changing it.
White is unfortunately and always seen as the default of whatever screenplay you read.
Unless their race is explicitly stated, you assume that character is white.
When you're making this grand original movie and calling back to classic Hollywood films,
why not have two actor of color as the leads.
Why stick to the same thing that's already been done decades ago.
Why not try something new, different for a change?
Is it like people of color only struggled in the '60s and
only white people struggle today? I'm confused.
Did we only have accomplishments back then and only white people can be accomplished today?
Were there no actors of color who could also sing and dance and star in La La Land?
I watched the opening number.
They're there. They're out there.
So those are my ranting feelings and thoughts of La La Land of how I do like the story,
and I do like the music, but I had a problem with the casting.
And I'll also put the link to where you can find Oscar nominated screenplays so that you
can also read and enjoy those.
Thank you for watching this video.
I'll see you next time. Good-bye.
