Hi Bill.

My name is Daniel from Texas.

My question is how do you reach someone who is maybe a conspiracy theorist or someone

who is anti-vaccines, someone who is staunchly scientifically illiterate and agree with them

on what a good source of facts is?

Thank you.

So Daniel.

How do I recommend reasoning with a conspiracy theorist.

Right now, the last couple of months I've been messing around with this idea of cognitive

dissonance.

This is to say you have a world view; You're presented with evidence that conflicts with

the world view; So you either have to change your world view, which is hard because you've

lived your whole life with it, or you just dismiss the evidence and dismiss the authorities

that may have provided the evidence.

The authority could be a person or it could be a book.

Or, excuse me, an article on the electric-internet-computer-machine.

So you dismiss the evidence, so that you don't have this discomfort or conflict in your mind—this

dissonance.

That's what I'm working with right now, and apparently the way to overcome that is

to say, "We're all in this together, let's learn about this together."

Present the conspiracy theorist with the idea that he or she may be rejecting evidence because

it's just so uncomfortable.

And you're in it together.

We're in it together.

I'm uncomfortable too.

But when it comes to moon landings, just ask the person how you would generate all that

paperwork!

The warehouses full of documentation that NASA created to make landings on the moon

would overwhelm anybody trying to do it on the side.

It would just be very difficult to print all that.

And just understand it's a process.

Somebody who has a world view that's inconsistent with evidence—and I may have some—it takes

a while for you to turn around.

Like the example of palm reading it's not something that people reverse their ideas

on immediately.

It takes, in my experience it takes about two years for somebody to sort of look at

palm reading, look at cold-reading or a tarot card reading for a while and then realize

that these tarot card readers/palm readers are just taking information that you've

given them, the client has given them, and feeding it back to you.

It takes a long time and in the same way people who are anti-vaccine I think have just lost

sight of the history.

Vaccines—you know, part of the reason I'm able to be here talking with you is my grandparents

did not die in 1918 during the Spanish flu when it is estimated 50 million people died—Twice

as many people as were killed in combat in World War I died of this disease.

If you go to old cemeteries you can see these tombstones of very young people who died of

the flu.

So people just lost sight of history, and we all tend to go, "Well look at the facts.

Change your mind!"

But it takes people a couple of years to change their mind.

So my recommendation, Daniel, is: stick with it!

You'll get frustrated, the person will get frustrated, but present the idea of cognitive

dissonance.

This is my latest idea about a way to work together to a scientific understanding.

WWE Smackdown & Raw Roster Trades Announced! Goldberg WWE Status! | WrestleTalk News April 2017 - Duration: 4:42.

Hello and welcome to the WrestleTalk News!

I'm Oli Davis, and I'll be replying to as many comments on this video as I can.

Wrestlemania weekend wasn't just noteworthy for huge WWE returns and heartbreaking retirements,

it also contained an excellent amount of Triple H photoshopping.

Following Triple H posing with his own cardboard cutout, the Internet quickly collaged Triple

Triple H, Quattro Triple H, and now, in the most recent multiple, Decahedron Triple H.

That's 30 Hs, maths fans.

@KayinNasaki on Twitter has taken The Game one step further, horrifically recreating

Randy Orton's Wrestlemania 25 feud with the Cerebral Assassin, superimposing eight

Triple Hs on the ring mat from his match against Bray Wyatt at the weekend.

If Wrestlemania was measured by the amount of Triple Hs, this year's would be an outstanding

success.

Instead, as pay-per-view buy rates are no longer really a thing for WWE, the company

goes by the Network subscriber count.

In their quarterly conference call, Chief Strategy and Financial Officer George Barrios

revealed the amount had increased from 1.5 million on January 31st to 1.95.

While that's an impressive figure, with the rate of growth increasing from last year,

only 1.66 million of those are paid, as WWE offered month free subscriptions to boost

the number.

Near the end of the call, investors asked about the recent reports that WWE were in

talks to buy Ring of Honor.

WWE replied they're always looking to "super serve" content to the fans and all possibilities

are being explored.

'Super serve' - that's great.

I like the sound of that.

Finally WWE might start putting on longer shows.

Among the many highlights on last night's fantastic post-Mania episode of Raw - watch

my review of the show right here on WrestleTalk's YouTube channel - was Vince McMahon revealing

there would be a "superstar shake up" next week.

WWE.com expanded on this, writing: "The WWE Chairman will be granting both sides an

opportunity to make trades, deals and other moves that they feel fit."

This appears to be a few trades between brands rather than a full WWE Draft.

AJ Styles to Raw and Roman Reigns and New Day to Smackdown have been rumoured in recent

months, and you'd expect those who lost on Monday night for no reason - like Charlotte,

Enzo and Big Cass - to also be switching brands.

Smackdown General Manager Daniel Bryan will appear on next week's Raw to conduct the

trades with Monday Night's new man in charge, Kurt Angle.

One wrestler who most likely won't be available for drafting, however, is Bill Goldberg.

On the episode's post-show Raw Talk, Goldberg came down to the ring and cut an unscripted

promo thanking his wife and son at ringside.

Bill then invited his son into the ring, who proceeded to fall over the barricade, prompting

Goldberg to joke: "Look, he even takes bumps already.

Hell, that's one more than I've taken in my entire career until last night.".

Bill continued, trying to defeat Titus O'Neil for his Celebrity Dad of the Year 2015 award:

"I was able to take that Universal championship title to my son's school.

The pride that I felt standing in front of those kids and his teacher and my son was

immeasurable...Now this could possibly be the last time you ever see me in a ring...since

Bell's Brewery Kalamazoo Stout Beer Review 2017 - Duration: 4:13.

and today I have a beer review for you from

Bell's Brewing this is Kalamazoo Stout

yes and as you can tell us the top is

off the beer we've been doing the

bracket today and so we've been taking

all the losers and doing a official beer

review on them because we really know

last year yeah I think I think last year

we could I realized that there weren't

losers there's a lot of really good

beers I just lost right kind of like

march madness there's like a team that

lose so today we're doing the kalamazoo

stout and it's a six percent beer and

we're not really sure what the IBUs are

right on it because it's not listed but

if i had to guess at the in the twenty

to thirty arranged yeah it wouldn't be

that high so in this we do have

tight bubbles tanish head mostly

small my head's pretty much gone yeah

black I do not have a you nope Hugh I

smell the roasted malt yeah and if

anything a tiny bit of alcohol is coming

through that roasted mall sure but yeah

maybe some chocolates and roasted malt

but the roasted malt is clearly

coming through more than the chocolate

I agree with you taste

pretty good balance beer I mean think

about a stout you know you expect it to

be dry you expect it to be a lot of dark

roast malt forward but which I think

both this beer is yeah what's deceiving

i think a little bit is the alcohol

content because to me this tastes like

in the for range ish but it's actually a

6 right and see i pick up up front i

get the roasted malts but then i almost

want to say in the back I'm getting some

lactose sweetness with some alcohol now

I'm not saying that alcohol is and it's

carb I'm not saying the alcohol is high

in the taste but to me maybe the

sweetness lactose is hide it well yep no

I would degree I think it does hide it well

that is one of the things I think is

very good about the be right is that you

know it's a higher alcohol content if

you per se and it's I mean the roast is

pretty good right right and I i would

say medium bodied yeah right we're

almost I would like them you know in a

stout is medium somewhere in there but

to be the lactose is what holds this one

back I wish the lactose because it's not

a milk stout we're talking about a stout

yeah now if it was or a milk stout maybe

I would have some different opinions on

it but because it is a stout I wish that

lactose was backed off gotcha yeah and I

could see that it's uh but I think

overall it's still very good Stout oh

yeah it's just I mean obviously made it

pretty far in our bracket it just went

against better competition right cool so

My question is how do you reach someone who is maybe a conspiracy theorist or someone

who is anti-vaccines, someone who is staunchly scientifically illiterate and agree with them

on what a good source of facts is?

So Daniel.

How do I recommend reasoning with a conspiracy theorist.

Right now, the last couple of months I've been messing around with this idea of cognitive

dissonance.

This is to say you have a world view; You're presented with evidence that conflicts with

the world view; So you either have to change your world view, which is hard because you've

lived your whole life with it, or you just dismiss the evidence and dismiss the authorities

that may have provided the evidence.

The authority could be a person or it could be a book.

Or, excuse me, an article on the electric-internet-computer-machine.

So you dismiss the evidence, so that you don't have this discomfort or conflict in your mind—this

dissonance.

That's what I'm working with right now, and apparently the way to overcome that is

to say, "We're all in this together, let's learn about this together."

Present the conspiracy theorist with the idea that he or she may be rejecting evidence because

it's just so uncomfortable.

And you're in it together.

We're in it together.

I'm uncomfortable too.

But when it comes to moon landings, just ask the person how you would generate all that

paperwork!

The warehouses full of documentation that NASA created to make landings on the moon

would overwhelm anybody trying to do it on the side.

It would just be very difficult to print all that.

And just understand it's a process.

Somebody who has a world view that's inconsistent with evidence—and I may have some—it takes

a while for you to turn around.

Like the example of palm reading it's not something that people reverse their ideas

on immediately.

It takes, in my experience it takes about two years for somebody to sort of look at

palm reading, look at cold-reading or a tarot card reading for a while and then realize

that these tarot card readers/palm readers are just taking information that you've

given them, the client has given them, and feeding it back to you.

It takes a long time and in the same way people who are anti-vaccine I think have just lost

sight of the history.

Vaccines—you know, part of the reason I'm able to be here talking with you is my grandparents

did not die in 1918 during the Spanish flu when it is estimated 50 million people died—Twice

as many people as were killed in combat in World War I died of this disease.

If you go to old cemeteries you can see these tombstones of very young people who died of

the flu.

So people just lost sight of history, and we all tend to go, "Well look at the facts.

Change your mind!"

But it takes people a couple of years to change their mind.

So my recommendation, Daniel, is: stick with it!

You'll get frustrated, the person will get frustrated, but present the idea of cognitive

dissonance.

This is my latest idea about a way to work together to a scientific understanding.

Average Credit Card Rates - April 2017 - Duration: 4:08.

Hi, I'm Adam Jusko from CreditCardCatalog.com

and today i am bringing you

the monthly credit card rate report for

April. If it is not April make sure you

check out the URL that is along with

this video that will take you to the

Credit Card Catalog page that gives you

the very latest rate report for this

month. So, for April of 2017 the average

credit card rate is 19.24%.

Last month it was 19.07%

so a pretty significant

jump in just a month. There

was an interest rate raise by the

Federal Reserve within the last month so

that accounts for part of it, but it

doesn't account for everything. Credit

card rates have really just been been

going up consistently over the last

couple years whether the Feds have

been doing anything or not. So you're

seeing the Fed interest rate raises

incorporated here but that's not the

only piece of the story. Last year

at this time the average rate was 18.72%

This is across all credit

cards, so we're talking about bank credit

cards like Visa, MasterCard, American

Express and Discover cards from various

banks, but we're also talking about

retail store cards as well. If you

want to single out just the bank credit

cards, the average would be 18.27%

for this month

and the retail credit card average is

23.12%. Store credit cards

almost across the board have pretty

terrible interest rates and so you can

see with a 23-plus percent interest rate

that that pretty much is across the

industry. A couple other breakouts: bank

credit cards that have no rewards, the

average there is 16.92% which

is a little easier to swallow but it's

still fairly high. Bank credit cards with

rewards have a 19.34%

average interest rate.

In terms of how we come up with these

numbers, it's good to make sure you

understand that one of the things that

we try to do... our numbers come in a little

higher than maybe some others would tell

you and that is because we try to look

at interest rate ranges across the board.

So we're talking about when you apply

for a certain card, many times the major

issuers will show you a low

interest rate as a possibility that you

could have but there's also the

possibility that you could be approved 3

or 2 or other interest rate tiers that

are higher than that initial rate that

that they're showing you. So we try to

take all of that into account, and we also

try to take into account the fact that

the major issuers issue more cards

than smaller issuers and oftentimes the

major issuers are giving higher interest

rates and they approve more customers. So

we're looking at a typical customer

today going into the market and looking

for a credit card, what the average

interest rate is going to be.

And so as far as we're concerned our

goal is to follow a basket of cards,

basically keep the same cards in that

basket over a time period so that we

make sure we're tracking sort of

what the trends are in the industry and

how things are changing.

If we just kind of took a random

sampling every month, we feel like it

would look a little different and sort

of be all over the board in terms of how

the averages come out. So that's it. You
