How To Cut Your Own Hairstyle - Wig Challenge | Try This Challenge | Refinery29 - Duration: 6:02.

Meet Pamela.

We have a close relationship right now.

So she's got to look good because guess what?

She's going on my head for an entire day.

Hi I'm Nancy.

And today I'm going to try to cut

my own hairstyle.

I'm Serena and today I'm going to

try to attempt to cut my own hairstyle.

Are you nervous?

Don't be.

My inspiration is Dianna Agron.

I like her red carpet look.

And she has this really fun, short, bang cut.

And it sounds terrifying.

And I'm going to do it.

So I was thinking I loved the Selena Gomez

Met Gala look that she just wore.

It was kind of like a lob.

It was longer in the front,

cut shorter in the back.

And it's brown, so double whammy.

I'm going to get to wear this outside in the real world.

I'm pretty excited.

I'm a little nervous.

I think giving myself a new look and going blonde

is going to be really interesting.

I do think blondes have more fun.

But I'm willing to test it out.

I think my game plan today is

just going to take all the length off.

I got a good eight inches I'm going to clear off.

Plan of action.

It's interesting.

I don't have one.

Let's give her a name.

Her name is Dorinda.

So I kind of feel like this is adult Barbie time.

And I'm loving it.

So Dorinda has a lot of hair, unlike me.

Stay!

It's happening.

Oh my goodness.

Oh my goodness.

We have the first cut.

It's very uneven.

Don't worry.

It's okay.

Whoa.

Whoa.

I'm kind of getting into this right now.

Oh here we go.

There we go.

Yes!

I think people think that I got fired or something

because there's going to be a new girl

sitting at my desk.

So do you see what I did here?

It's longer here and it's shorter here.

So I don't mind what's happening up here.

I think it's falling okay.

I'm trying to do a little bit of a stacking thing.

So then I can chop it up and style it all like Dianna.

And don't worry I'm going to make it so

it kind of looks like more cohesive.

Oh!

I have to wear this, guys.

Wow I can't actually believe

I'm going to wear this, but I'm down.

Last cut.

Sweet relief.

We're having a moment.

Yikes.

Guys.

I didn't nail it.

I didn't nail this.

And now I feel like Serena is going to have

this rocking bob or something.

Darling, how do I look?

I feel...

très chic

and terrified.

Oh my god.

Honestly,

I'm down.

Oh.

Girl.

Okay it's a little uneven for sure.

But I feel like it's—

it doesn't look that bad.

I am not ready to wear this the entire day.

I'm actually a little terrified.

I don't think I'm going to feel self-conscious

because if I own it,

then the rest of the world will love it.

But that being said,

I feel like people are going to be like,

"Why are you wearing a wig?"

And, "What are you doing?"

A lot of gasping and screaming

and loud, high-pitched noises.

I'm going to get a coffee.

I might update my Tinder photo.

Honestly, I'm so excited to be the center

of attention all day.

So I've gone most of the day wearing this.

And it's a little itchy, but

I'm actually really into it.

So I decided to put on some glasses

because I realized that I look a little like my mom.

Hey Mom!

Hi!

People, first off, think it's real,

which I think that's pretty badass.

And then, second off,

not only is the cut working for me

but people are saying the color is working.

And I think that's—

that's really reassuring since I really wasn't

sure what I was getting myself into.

I've been at work for a couple of hours.

And surprisingly, amazing reactions.

Only two people were like, "I don't like that."

And I'm just like, "Okay, well I do. So..."

Don't we look like twins?

Going to keep rocking this all day.

And I got some places to be after work.

And I think I'm just going to keep it on and own it.

We'll see.

It's almost the end of the day with my new hairstyle.

I feel like I kind of took on a persona

with the glasses, which I normally don't wear.

And then I did jean on denim jeans,

which I would never wear a Canadian tuxedo.

So that's cool.

Okay, so now I'm really getting into it.

And I found this yellow pillow.

I'm just kind of now owning this

whole blonde, yellow vibe.

The more I wear it,

the more I'm never going to take this off.

So the haircut didn't come out

quite as I expected it to.

I'm no expert, even though you might think I am.

And honestly, I loved it.

I'm absolutely going to do it again.

It wasn't too itchy.

It was totally manageable.

The way the wig sat on my hair,

you could kind of see my roots.

So it looked really, really natural.

The biggest challenge was actually getting the wig on.

I don't have a lot of experience with wigs.

So trying to hold it on my forehead,

and then kind of gluing it, and tucking it,

and keeping my hair up.

That was definitely a challenge.

But once I got it, it just sat perfectly

and felt really natural.

It was a little uncomfortable at times.

But it was worth it

because I looked fabulous.

My biggest takeaway was that

okay, maybe I'm not a hair stylist,

but it was so fun to change

around and play with my identity

and try a different look for a day.

I had such a positive reaction from my teammates

and other employees

that it was really this boost of confidence.

And I think I'm going to just start leaving it at my desk.

And if I have a bad day,

I'm going to throw it on and kind of strut

my stuff around the office.

Thank you so much for watching.

Here's that 3rd arm you've always wanted - Duration: 1:06.

Instead of asking a friend for a hand

what if you had an extra arm?

Researchers have created a robotic limb called Aucto

that can be attached to the shoulder.

It's lighter and simpler than previous extra limbs.

The gripper is a balloon

filled with foam pellets and coffee grounds.

It conforms to objects

and holds them tight when air is sucked out.

The body brace is soft and stiff in different regions

for both comfort

and so the user can sense the arm's load.

A prototype arm braces objects above the head

holds tools

and frees both hands of kneeling workers.

The wearer moves the arm to a desired position

and motors in the joints hold it there.

it even maintains the gripper's absolute position

as the worker moves

Attach three more and you can be Doctor Aucto.

Mastering the Golden Five Exercises (1-1) | Buff Dudes: Journey for the Goblet of Gains - Duration: 5:46.

Here we go! The beginning.

Every character starts with Level 1,

but dreams of one day reaching for that Goblet of Gains.

Is it possible? Hell yeah it is!

But it's going to take a lot of hard work

and learning the basics. Yeah!

In order to drink from the holy Goblet of Gains you're

going to have to grind these compound exercises

again and again. And again.

It's not going to be easy and it's never going to work

unless you've got that proper form.

So in this chapter we're going

to be covering the Golden Five.

Bench press, deadlifts, squats,

pull-ups, and overhead press.

Five essential compound exercises every buff dude or

girl should have in their arsenal.

Think of these as the weapons

you used to slay on your way

to the ultimate buff payday.

A goblet every gym goer covets.

The one overflowing with gains.

Sweet, sweet gains.

Now we've only got so many continues,

so let's not make that same mistake.

Because hey, we all want to be able to taste

from that sweet Goblet of Gains.

So here's three tips to keep in mind

when performing the bench press.

You're gonna want to keep your feet firmly planted

on the floor with your hips and

upper back firmly planted on the bench.

Go ahead and retract your scapula and pretend

you're bending the bar as

you're bringing it down to your sternum.

What's a bench press going to work?

It's going to work those chestitcles,

and the triceps as a secondary muscle group.

So get out there, hit that bench,

and you're going to quickly realize

why this is an indispensable tool in every

buff dude or girl's arsenal.

Deadlifts: one of the top compound exercises.

But it can be a little scary starting at Level 1.

So make sure you keep these three things in mind,

so you can gain the experience to level up!

So what you're seeing right now

is what you don't want to do.

You're gonna lose points in the

long run and that's not a good thing.

So what you want to make sure to do is keep a nice rigid

straight spine throughout this movement.

Keep a neutral chin and act like you're spreading

the floor with your feet and that's really going to help

stabilize your hips and your knee in the long run.

You're probably asking yourself, "Why am I performing

the deadlifts?" and that's an excellent question.

And the answer is, because it's a badass exercise!

It's working multiple muscles and multiple joints,

huge compound movement, mainly working the

posterior chain which is the hamstrings, glutes, and back.

So next time you step in the gym,

make sure you hit the deadlift,

and that's why we included it in the Golden Five.

Squats.

As you can see, a lot of things can go wrong in this exercise,

but it's not as scary as it looks. Keep these three things

in mind and you'll perfect your form in no time.

Make sure to keep in mind that

the bar is going to be an upper

trap area rather than the base of the neck.

This is going to help with bar control as you

perform this exercise.

Corkscrew your feet into the ground to help stabilize the

knee and the hip joint, and make sure you push to the

mid foot rather than coming up on the toes.

This is another major compound exercise working

multiple muscles and multiple joints in the body.

It's primarily working the legs with the

quads, hamstrings, and glutes, but it's also

working the core and even upper body, too.

Over 200 muscles in fact.

And that's why this is a necessity to have in your arsenal

in the Journey to the Goblet of Gains.

Now I don't know what that is, but it's definitely

not a pull-up.

So here's three tips to keep in mind when performing the

perfect pull-up.

You're going to want to begin by retracting

and depressing the scapula.

Go ahead and bring your upper chest to the bar level.

And as you do this, go ahead and bring your elbows

into your back pocket area.

Not only is this exercise an excellent indication

of overall upper-body strength,

but it's also going to build that big juicy meat shield.

Or as some people like to call, the back.

The overhead press.

And as you can see here there's a few things

that can go wrong in this. Make sure you keep

these three things in mind and you'll be safe.

Keep a straight flexed legs throughout the

duration of the exercise, vertical torso and vertical

forearms at the beginning of the press,

flexed core, and make sure you bob the head

out of the way as the bar passes,

and get that full extension, flex, before lowering it down

to the bottom position.

So this primarily works the delts, but it's also working

the traps and the core, as well.

And hey, who doesn't want some boulder shoulders, right?

I mean if your gonna wear some cut off tank tops,

you better be looking damn good. And that's why we

included this badass exercise.

There you go noble gym warrior, the Golden Five.

Know them, use them, and learn to love them.

They'll be your indispensable tools in this 9-week journey.

Now go forth, hit the gym, and we'll see you

next time for episode two: Thy Buff Foods

AppSource Partner Video Series - Featuring Pickit - Duration: 4:35.

[Satish] Hello and thank you for joining

the Microsoft AppSource Partner series.

My name is Satish Thomas,

I'm the group program manager for Microsoft AppSource,

and today I'm excited to be joined by

Mathias, who is the founder of Pickit.

Which is an app on AppSource

and they joined our ecosystem earlier this year.

And I'm excited to have him here

to chat through his experience and journey so far on AppSource.

[Mathias] Thank you so much Satish,

it's a pleasure being here.

[Satish] So Picket came live on AppSource a few months ago

but before we get into the AppSource journey

tell me a little bit about Pickit as an organization.

[Mathias] Pickit is a bunch of entrepreneurs headquartered in Sweden.

Pickit is an image service

that helps you, as an end user,

to create stunning presentations even faster.

So the good thing about Pickit

is that I can use it as an individual

but also Pickit as an enterprise solution.

[Satish] That's fantastic.

So tell me a little bit more about

when did the AppSource journey start for Pickit?

[Mathias] It actually started a couple of months ago

when we started to look into

how do we actually reach out to the business users out there?

We had been in the Office Store for a while,

and we had a fantastic journey.

Together with the office team

we were awarded the Best Add-in for User Interface 2016.

And then we started to look at,

"How do we actually tap into the- more into the business users?

How do we reach the business user?

How can we interact with the business user?"

So, for us, I think that AppSource

was just a no brainier,

in order to reach the business user.

[Satish] You emphasize a lot about the user experience,

one of the things that we've learned,

you know across the ecosystem and all the apps we see,

is the user- the business user experience is super important. Right?

We like to call it the,

"Five seconds to try, and five minutes to wow."

And I think Pickit is one of those apps that, you know,

gets close to that and kind of meets it,

and obviously seeing some of the successes as a result

of delivering such a great user experience.

So tell me a little bit about why AppSource?

[Mathias] Microsoft is one of the largest ecosystems in the world.

You have so many products out there

touching so many people on a global level

every day right now.

So for us, I think that AppSource

is, it's just a no brainier.

I mean you are reaching millions,

hundred of millions of people every day.

[Satish] That's actually very exciting to hear directly from an ISV.

So, now that you've been on AppSource for a while,

How has your business transformed as a result of it?

[Mathias] This is totally beyond our expectations.

We have so many leads coming from AppSource right now.

Which is also creating a new situation for us

because we need partners.

So we need partners like

the CSP's, the hosting partners, and implementation partners

out there on a global level.

So don't, don't hesitate guys out there.

Please reach out to Pickit

because we need you guys.

[Satish] That is a true entrepreneur right there.

So, that's great to hear.

I think one of the things that we measure success on is, again,

at the end of the day for ISVs, like yourself,

to expand your business.

So the fact that you're getting more leads

is always encouraging to hear.

So there are a lot of ISVs obviously

that are going through similar journeys as yourself

and some ISVs that are not yet in the AppSource ecosystem.

So, what advice would you give some of them?

[Mathias] I would actually encourage

other ISVs to actually join- to on-board AppSource.

I think this is a great opportunity,

not only to reach new end users,

but also start to understand

a new level of innovation in the Microsoft ecosystem.

[♫] [Satish] Thank you so much for sharing your feedback,

it keeps me and the team grounded

and we look forward to kind of working with you

to grow together.

So thank you so much for spending the time with us today.

[Mathias] Thank you so much.

Are Supplements Needed for Weight Loss? - Duration: 6:44.

Hey everybody and welcome to the video.

Today we are going to be talking about keeping a positive mindset, what I've been listening

to at the gym, and an 8 month review of working out without any supplements.

Let's get into it.

So how's everybody's week going?

Things are going great as usual for me.

I was thinking about it, now that I've been making these for a few months, and I always

talk about how things are going well, things really are great in my life right now, so

when I say that every week, it really is the truth.

and I'm a big believer and advocate for positive thinking, I think you can find the

good in any situation, and not that there's not negativity or bad things in my life, but

I choose to focus on the positive and that's how I like to live.

But I hope everyone is doing well.

I've been making YouTube videos, the channel's been growing so much, which is probably a

big reason for my extra good mood lately.

So thank you guys all if anyone is new around here, welcome to walk with me.

I'm very happy to have you here.

So there are a couple of things I have on the agenda that I wanted to talk to you guys

about.

The first thing.

What I've been listening to lately in the gym.

So I know I've talked about it in Q&A's and other stuff.

Typically for music when I'm at the gym I listen to a lot of hip-hop, a lot of like—

EDM, dubstep sort of stuff.

But the last few weeks, I've— I've been trying to have a little bit more like— calmer,

slower, meditative type of workouts and I've been listening to a bunch of podcasts.

I'd hesitated for so long listening to podcasts when I lifted weights, just because the music

usually helps me get all amped up and I feel like I lift better.

But I gave it a try, I had a mid workout day on my day off and I really wasn't in any kind

of rush, so I was like "I'm just going to take my time, listen to a podcast, and lift

my weights, and it was a lot of fun!

So I've been listening to podcasts for the last, I don't know, month or so while I--while

I lift weights.

I had talked to someone in the comments on one of the videos the other day, they were

actually doing the same thing too.

So I don't know if anyone else does that, I've always been a person that's heavily affected

by what music they're listening to, it really has a big impact.

So it was a little bit of a different mentality to go to the gym and just kind of have a relaxing,

slower paced workout and it was really nice.

I don't think I'm going to do that always and forever, but I like the idea of having

some days just a little bit lower key and it's also been a good way to catch up on my

podcasts.

The walk with me episode a while back, you guys gave me a bunch of really good recommendations,

so I've been listening to a few of them, trying to catch up.

So I've been listening to a few of them trying to catch up and learn some new stuff, it's

been great.

Yeah, I'd love to know what anyone else listens to when they work out, leave me a comment

down below, we can get that discussion going.

But the other thing I wanted to talk about in a similar vein, of my gym habits and routines,

I haven't been using any of my normal supplements for the last about 8 months.

You know, money has been a little tight at home so that was one of my money-saving precautions

that I did.

I also did it kind of out of curiosity to see if the pre-workout and protein powder

and all of that sort of stuff was really having that big of an impact, but things are really

about the same.

I'd always take pre workout before going to the gym, and I usually had protein powder

on a pretty regular basis, you know, a few times a week, and I also took creatine and

BCAA's for general muscle recovery and building and repair, but for the last 8 months with

the exception of the protein cookie dough ball recipe that I made I haven't been having

any of it and things aren't really that different.

It was something I thought was important to bring up for people getting into all of this

stuff, I know I've made videos about my thoughts on supplements before, but for anyone that's

just getting into weight loss or just getting into the gym, trying or testing all of different

stuff, don't think that you need those things to have a successful gym session or make successful

progress.

They're not requirements, they're as the name says, supplements.

They're meant to supplement your gaps in your nutrition, in your energy, in your recovery,

they're not meant to replace them.

So your body really still can handle it without those things.

So if money is tight, or you're not sure what to buy, or your overwhelmed by all of it,

don't worry about it, you don't really need it.

I fully intend on going back to using any of these supplements, I don't think there's

anything wrong with using them, it was just a cost-saving measure for me, but things are

really going well so I don't feel a big rush-- so I don't feel a big rush or urge to run

out and buy, more preworkout or protein powder.

You know, I've been trying to clean up my diet a little bit like I talked about so I've

been eating more natural foods, or trying to at least, I didn't want to make this video

to bash any of those supplements but there have gotta be a bunch of people out there

that think they need these to succeed.

Especially younger people, if money is tight for you, don't even worry about it, just focus

on your food, focus on your exercising, you're still going to make progress wether or not

you have those supplements.

It wasn't really a planned break, I had no intentions of going this long without having

any of it.

After I didn't really see that much of a change for the first couple of months I just figured--I

just figured I'd keep going and kind of see the long-term changes or results, and it turns

out I haven't had that much of a difference.

But there's no harm in taking them if you have the knowledge or the cash to buy them,

but that's about it for the couple of things I wanted to cover that happened this week.

Pretty quiet week, still just chugging along, Camille and I are still playing Lego Star

Wars, we've actually been watching this British reality show called Love Island, Rob Lipsett

got on it.

Not that I know Rob, but I've been following his YouTube channel for a few years, so it's

just funny to see someone you know on a reality show.

Still haven't gotten the chance to plan that camping trip yet.

I always have these ideas and plans and ideas and there's just not enough hours in the day

for it all.

But it is all good, the only reason for that is because everything has been going so well.

But make sure to leave me a comment down below, let me know what you listen to, let me know

how your journey is going, how far you've come, we can all participate and share and

grow this community together and help each other.

Make sure if you enjoyed the video, hit the thumbs up button, it really helps me out a

ton, and be sure to subscribe as well, I put these out every Monday and I put other videos

out every Friday.

But until next time, I will talk to you all later.

Have a good one.

The US spacecraft Apollo 18 and the Soviet vessel

The Cold War was a time of tension for more than two decades

When the hatches between the two vehicles were opened,

the astronauts and cosmonauts warmly greeted each other

CNN Student News September 27, 2011 - Duration: 10:36.

Hello, everyone. This is South Korea and my dog loves CNN Student news, right? Especially

(inaudible). High five. OK. This is CNN Student News. Whoo!

A big thank you going all the way to South Korea for getting today`s` show going today.

From the CNN Center here in Atlanta, Georgia, I`m Carl Azuz. Let`s get to the headlines.

First up, we`re looking at the possibility of a U.S. government shutdown again. October

1st, which is just a few days away, is the start of the government`s fiscal or financial

year. But unless Congress takes action this week, there won`t be any money for some government

programs.

If that happens -- and it`s just an if -- shutdown. Candy Crowley looks at which government agency

is at the center of this new round of debates.

For the third time this year, a congressional staredown threatens a government shutdown.

Let me start with you, Senator Warner, and ask you if there is a point at which you think

this is embarrassing.

Yes. It is embarrassing.

Are we there?

Can we be -- can we, once again, inflict on the country and the American people the spectacle

of a near-government shutdown? I sure as heck hope not.

The U.S. government runs out of money at the end of this week unless a temporary spending

bill is passed on Capitol Hill.

Inside the House version is money to replenish the Federal Emergency Management Agency, FEMA,

which assists disaster victims, tornadoes in Joplin, hurricanes in the Northeast. The

remarkable thing is that basically Congress can`t agree on something everyone is for:

funding FEMA.

The crux of the matter is how and when to decide how to pay for it. Senate Democrats

have rejected the House version, saying Republicans are proposing to pay for increased FEMA funds

with cutbacks in programs that create jobs.

Nobody`s budging, ergo stalemate, a looming shutdown and the politics that ensue.

I`ll give the Senate Democratic leader most of the credit. He manufactured a crisis all

week about disaster when there`s no crisis. Everybody knows we`re going to pay for every

single penny of disaster aid that the president declares and that FEMA certifies.

One point about who to blame or not to blame on this current, hopefully non-shutdown, is

that there is a group -- and I do believe it is mostly centered in the House in terms

of some of these Tea Party Republicans who say, on every issue, we`re going to make this

a make-or- break.

Pointing fingers about an impending shutdown can be good politics. But an actual shutdown

is likely to hurt any politician in a 50-mile radius of Washington. Odds are good they`ll

figure this out. They have till Friday -- Candy Crowley, CNN, Washington.

So would you notice a government shutdown? Maybe, maybe not. As many as 800,000 government

workers could be sent home. So if your mom or dad is one, they might be home without

pay.

Applications for things issued by the government, like IRS tax refunds, passports, visas, those

could be delayed, and national parks could be closed, as well as the National Zoo, although

zoo animals would still get fed.

The list of things that would stay open is longer. We`d still get our mail, criminals

would still be chase and prosecuted; anything to do with public safety keeps on running.

Is this legit? The region known as Silicon Valley is located is Texas.

Nope, not true. Silicon Valley is in California. It`s home to a lot of technology companies.

Couple events in Silicon Valley yesterday. Might have made it look like the reason was

in Washington, D.C. Political leaders held town halls at two major tech companies.

President Obama was at the headquarters of LinkedIn, a professional networking website.

He took questions from the audience and tried to raise support for his jobs plan. He did

a similar meeting at Facebook`s offices back in April

And that`s where these three Republican leaders were yesterday. Representatives Eric Cantor,

Kevin McCarthy and Paul Ryan headed out to Silicon Valley after this event in Washington.

They were set to talk to part of the tech world about their ideas on innovation and

job growth.

The country of Greece is facing its own financial struggles, and it needs help -- bailouts from

groups like the European Union and the International Monetary Fund -- if Greece wants to avoid

going broke.

But those bailouts come with rules. Greece would have to find ways to cut its own spending.

And some of the plans are not going over well with Greek citizens. Protests, like the one

you see here have been coming (ph) for months. Greece has already raised taxes, reduced pensions,

had layoffs -- there`s a vote this week on a new property tax. Some observers think the

anger over these new rules could lead to a major shakeup in the Greek government. And

that uncertainty might make the situation even worse.

Is this legit: extra credit -- the 6th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution re requires criminal

court cases to involve a trial by jury.

This one`s true. The amendment also establishes the right to a speedy and public trial.

A trial starts today that is going to be very public. It involves the personal doctor of

Michael Jackson, the mega pop star who died two years ago. Conrad Murray has been charged

with involuntary manslaughter.

He`s pled not guilty, and with the jury set to start hearing opening statements today,

we thought this would be a unique way to take a look at the legal system. Ted Rowlands explores

the cases from the prosecution and the defense.

Your Honor, I`m an innocent man.

The jury in the Conrad Murray manslaughter trial will have several questions to answer.

One, did Dr. Murray give Michael Jackson a lethal dose of Propofol? Prosecutors say there`s

no doubt. Murray and his attorneys say there is no way.

There is no way that Dr. Murray would pump Michael Jackson full of Propofol sufficient

for major surgery, and walk out that room. It`s not going to happen. That`s not the doctor

Dr. Murray is.

Murray claims the day Jackson died, he only administered 25 milligrams of Propofol, far

less than what was found in Jackson`s body by the coroner.

How did it get in him?

Well, that`s a good question. Ted, do you have any idea how it got in him?

The defense is expected to argue that Jackson somehow gave himself the lethal dose.

Could Michael Jackson have done it?

Is it possible for an individual to inject himself with a drug? Yes. Yes.

Before Jackson died, he spent hours struggling to go to sleep, according to a timeline Murray

gave police. Murray says he gave Jackson five doses of three different drugs between 1:30

am and 7:30 am. At 10:40 am, he says he gave Jackson the Propofol.

Did anybody witness what happened?

No, just the doctor, sir.

911 was called at 12:21. Emergency responders will testify they believe Jackson was dead

when they arrived.

Another question jurors must answer is: was using Propofol, an anesthetic for surgery,

as a sleep aid so reckless that Murray should be held responsible for Jackson`s death?

Doctor after doctor gets up and says, well, this should never be used outside a clinical

setting, outside of a hospital or a clinic.

The fact that the circumstances may be unusual, may be demonstrated to be unusual, does not

make it egregious. That alone does not make it egregious.

Murray`s defense will argue Jackson was a drug addict and in horrible physical shape,

and that he was getting drugs from other doctors that Murray didn`t know about.

Prosecutors plan to argue that Jackson was in good shape, and planned to show this clip

from the documentary "This Is It" of Jackson, rehearsing just days before he died.

So now, more than two years after Jackson`s death, a Los Angeles jury will be presented

with the case, and ultimately decide whether or not Dr. Conrad Murray should be held responsible

-- Ted Rowlands, CNN, Los Angeles.

What we`ve got here is my face on a pumpkin. And it`s the work of some very talented CNN

Student News fans. Now we want to see what you can do.

Halloween`s just a month away. That gives you plenty of time to come up with a creative

pumpkin project. Doesn`t have to have my face on it, but you get extra credit if it does.

Once you`ve "carved" out an idea, head cnnstudentnews.com and send us an iReport of your efforts.

You might need a whole month to carve out the pumpkin in today`s "Before We Go" segment

because this bad baby might be the biggest one in all of New York state.

Gary and Cathy Adams (ph) have only been growing giant pumpkins for a couple years. Looks like

they got the hang of it. They say one of their gargantuan gourds weighs in at more than 1,600

pounds. If that turns out to be true, it would break this year`s state record.

And even if they don`t get the title, it`s no big deal, because growing giant pumpkins

is all in "gourd" fun. Oh, sure, that pun -- "pun- kin" -- that pun might have been

low-hanging fruit, but "orange" you glad we didn`t try to force the joke?

Man, that`s just painful. Or pun-ful. We hope you`ll "carve" out some more time for CNN

Student News again tomorrow. See you then.

Abandoned Artesian Well Plugging Program - Duration: 4:27.

Good morning Mr. chairman and members of the governing board.

I'm Gary Foster, project manager of the abandoned artesian well plugging program,

and I am here to present an informational update on the status and cost of this efficient program.

Due to the droughts of the early 50s the Florida legislature enacted the first regulations

dealing with free-flowing wells, requiring working valves or caps to be installed

on flowing wells, and a few years later, adopted additional legislation

dealing with plugging of artesian wells.

In 1972, the Florida Legislature established the five water management districts

and the rules governing abandoned artesian wells were enforced by the districts

through the Florida Department of Environmental Regulation.

In 1983, the Water Quality Assurance Act was enacted,

calling for all known abandoned artesian wells to be plugged.

The district began funding the program and seeking to share costs

with local governments and homeowners.

Reimbursement guidelines.

Residential and homeowners, 50 percent of the cost per well,

to a maximum of $600 per well.

Commercial, industrial, agriculture, excluding public water supply utility wells,

50 percent of the cost per well.

Public sector and government, 50 percent of the cost per well.

Government conservation lands, no cost the managing or owning jurisdiction.

The diagram illustrates the problems that occur in the failing

abandoned artesian wells and why they should be plugged.

As you can see, at A, the continuous flow at the surface and failing well

and B, water from the lower aquifer leaks into the surficial intermediate aquifers

and C, inter-aquifer flow of lesser quality water moving upward

and contaminating the fresher water in the upper portion of the same aquifer.

Here we have a brief video that represents our largest well plugging event of this year.

Our Safety Officer David Sielaff is conducting a safety briefing before work commences.

The contractors are removing a leaking flange of a 10" well

with a maximum potential flow of 800 gallons per minute.

The crew is attempting to pump out the water allowing them to install the header.

As you can see some of the water issues you might encounter with a flow rate of 800 gpm.

The crew is now installing the header giving them control of the well to the contractors.

They begin logging the well to determine open hole diameter, total well depth

and other aquifer parameters that are useful information when plugging a well.

The work crew begins pumping 3 truck loads totaling 21 cubic yards of cement

into the well plugging it up to the surface.

This chart illustrates the total wells plugged per county.

As you can see, in Brevard and Indian River, artesian conditions exist throughout these counties,

and in Seminole County, it's mainly around river and spring areas.

Moving to the right side of the chart,

you see Putnam, Clay, Duval and St. Johns,

where those conditions exist along the river.

This graph represents the yearly maximum potential flow conserved per year

with a total maximum potential flow conserved of 697.5 mgd.

In order to put this into perspective,

this number is 33 times the current annual allocation

of the City of Melbourne at (20.5 mgd)

and 5 times the current allocation for one of our largest utilities, J-E-A at (133.5 mgd).

The large fluctuations in mgd per year is due to changes in funding and in staffing.

Well plugging benefits offer aquifer protection, water supply conservation, water quality and

hydrogeologic data sources, and reduction of associated health risk and hazards.

I would encourage everyone to check out the article 'Put a cork in it'

in Streamlines, on page one.

Thank you very much and any questions.

Jak zrobić makijaż w stylu BRONZY LOOK How to do BRONZY LOOK Makeup Tutorial by Aga Wilk - Duration: 4:47.

Hi! It's Aga Wilk.

Welcome to my channel called „The Beauty Runway".

In today's video I'm going to show you how to do a gorgeous summer bronzy look on my divine model Ola.

I apply a highlighting primer on clean and moisturized skin.

I'm going to use a Becca primer today.

It will even the complexion and add luminosity to the face.

Next, I start doing the base

I want to make the skin look natural and avoid cakey make-up.

I'm using a light hydrating foundation and I evenly apply it on a model's face.

I brighten the eye area with a light-reflecting concealer, remembering to apply very small amount of product.

For other imperfections and redness around the nose I use my favorite high-coverage concealer.

The next step is a soft contouring.

For this I have a cream contouring palette.

I use a tiny amount of product.

With a brush I apply it on the cheekbone and keep blending it, so it becomes a part of the skin.

It's time to mattify the face.

For this I use a soft powder only in areas which need it the most.

To give the skin a gorgeous luminosity I warm it with one of my favorite products.

It is a bronzing powder from The BALM.

It blends into a skin without leaving smudges.

I apply it along the cheekbones and very gently all over the face, jawline, forehead and temples.

It will leave our skin tanned and glowy looking.

Afterwards, I place a blush on the cheeks and a dab of highlighter on the high points of the cheeks.

You may also lightly dust it on the whole face.

Let's not forget about the neck and décolletage- they may use a bit of warmth and glow as well ;)

When our skin is done, we may start with the eye make-up.

The first step it to apply a brown eye pencil and blend it with a rounded brush.

I highlight the inner corner with a light eyeshadow, highlighter or brightening shadow.

You may also use it on the brow bone.

With a fluffy brush I buff a golden eyeshadow over the eyelid, blending its edges.

We may put even more highlighter in the middle of the eyelid.

I repeat the same steps with a pencil and eyeshadow along the lower lash line.

Reminder- I draw a line along the lower lashes, smudge it and apply a golden eyeshadow gently blending it at the end.

If eye make-up is done, I may add a mascara.

I keep eyebrows very natural looking, filling them in softly.

I brush them upwards and sidewards.

Then, with an eyebrow pencil I draw lines where needed and fix it with a eyebrow gel.

There's only lips to do and our make-up will be done.

I paint them with a color which closely resembles our natural lip color

a soft pink or beige suits this make-up really well.

For the added shine we may put a little lip gloss in the similar shade.

Thank you very much for watching.

Maddox On The Move 07.17.17 - Founder's Corner Season Two - Duration: 2:48.

[Maddox on the Move intro music]

[Annie walking]

Annie: Hey guys so I'm here at Founder's Corner which is located on the first level

of the University Student Commons.

Founder's Corner is a space where students can come together to work on their start-ups

while having access to funds and programming provided by the University.

Matthew: At Founder's Corner the first thing is that we do a Pop-Up Pitch every week

where students can come and pitch their ideas in 90 seconds or less

and the winner of that pitch competition gets $200.

We do that every week during the regular semester,

we also have a lawyer that's available for consult for students.

If you have access to the space you have access to the lawyer who can help you

navigate the waters of starting a business yourself,

what type of entity you want to make it,

any legal considerations if you plan to incorporate

things like that.

We also plan regular events here, so

for instance we've covered agile methodologies and scrum

for entrepreneurs.

We've done events based on the advice of alumni who come and share

their own entrepreneurial journey with current students.

We've done things for people who want to learn how to talk to coders and understand

the landscape of technical, digital product development.

So all of those opportunities are great networking opportunities and programs that we offer.

Founder's Corner's main goal is to foster the entrepreneurial community

in VCU so that we can empower our students to pursue their entrepreneurial dreams.

It's really difficult sometimes to find space to work as a group and Founder's Corner seeks to be that space

for students.

All you have to do is go on the website and sign up, you can give your VCU eID

and your V number - then you can have access to this space at all times.

Annie: Okay that's all for this week, see you guys next time!

How To Argue Like A Gentleman - Duration: 15:19.

Welcome back to the Gentleman's Gazette!

In today's video, we discuss how to argue like a gentleman.

How a person argues strikes right at the heart of a person's personality and if you are threatened

or in a defensive position, you may behave differently but that truly reflects your character.

If you want to learn about how we define what a gentleman is today, please check out this

video here.

And then we can continue on focusing just on argument and what you should and should

not do.

First off, I went to law school and like many lawyers, I like being right.

Now, I think a lot of people like to be right but then that does not mean that you always

have to be about winning an argument.

It's about learning and growth and personally, I've learned a lot more from my mistakes than

from the things that I did that were right or where I "won".

If you go back in time, in 1727, Benjamin Franklin created the Leather Apron Club which

was a club where men would have arguments.

In order to be admitted, you had to meet four criteria or basically, answer four questions.

One, Do you have disrespect for any of the current members?

The right answer would have been no.

Two, Do you love mankind in general regardless of religion or profession?

The right answer would have been yes and this club consisted of a wide range of different

people, of different socio-academic status and education levels.

Of course, they were all white men but that's a different topic of discussion.

Three, Do you feel people should ever be punished for their opinions or modes of worship?

The right answer would have been no.

For some people, that may seem obvious but looking at those, it emphasizes that true

sense above all which is based on fact and that means even if you are wrong and you feel

like you are losing, it's still the truth that should come out on top.

Now, these four questions show that you have mutual respect, that you are open minded,

that you're tolerant, and that you're welcoming other people's beliefs and are open to them.

Why is it so hard to have a productive argument?

I think there are a number of reasons that go right to the core of how we feel and it's

important to think about them rationally so we can overcome an inner feeling that may

be unfair and unjust towards the person we are talking to.

The first barrier of productive argument is opinion protectionism.

What I mean by that is that we all feel that we are entitled to our opinion and that we

don't have to back it up with facts so other people can understand why we have this opinion.

So for example, legally, I'm entitled to believe that one plus one is three, however, based

on the rules of math that everyone knows, people will not respect me if I simply say

one plus one is three and I"m not going to change my mind and you can't tell me anything

else.

In my experience, if you believe that what you know is right and you are not open to

change, this is the biggest barrier to having a productive argument.

It's called dropping an anchor and it stops a conversation right there and chances are,

it will end badly in name calling or other things and people would be upset and they

will even remember it and look at you as someone who is not a person of reason, fact, or fairness.

The second issue is that opinions and beliefs can be quite personal and fundamental.

Just think about politics, topics like abortion, and in the US specifically, it's very uncommon

for people to have conversations about those topics because there is this kind of fear

of having different opinions and people much rather switch to small talk, however, as a

gentleman, you should be able to present your point, talk about the pros and the cons, listen

to the other person, admit to their valid points, and explain why you still think the

way you do without disrespecting the other person or giving them the feeling that their

point of view is inferior to yours.

The third barrier to an argument is the belief that winning or losing is more important than

personal growth.

Of course, we all like to win and it's a good feeling to be looked at by others and be recognized

as the winner at the same time, if you just go to an argument wanting to win and wanting

to be right, and wanting to have the last word, you may not learn from the other person,

you may not learn that you may be wrong, you may disregard something that may actually

help you and get you further down along the way so, in my opinion, that winning can be

losing for yourself because you are not getting ahead in life and you are just stuck in your

belief system.

If you can't back up your opinion by proper facts that others reasonably understand, you

may feel like the winner but other people will not look at you that way because they

just think of you as a narcissistic dick.

The fourth barrier of having a productive argument is the fear of being wrong.

As I said, as I mentioned, I like to be right, I think of myself as thoughtful and thinking

things through so when I come up with a solution or opinion, I truly believe that I've done

my homework and at the same time, if I let my ego get in the way of accepting that maybe

I have not done my proper homework and I have overlooked things, or not considered certain

points and based on that, my opinion or whatever I say is maybe not quite right or maybe even

terribly wrong, I have to be willing to admit that and admit fault.

When you do that, you show vulnerability and some people may consider that to be a weakness,

however, I personally believe that showing others that you can change your mind and that

you can be wrong and that you look at truth for its own sake rather than your personal

interest, makes them respect you a lot more especially in the long run.I fully understand

that traditional masculine demand that the man shows no weakness and weakness can be

crying or admitting fault but if you look at the great leaders in the world, or successful

businessmen, they admit mistakes and move on.

They take the ego out of things and rather look at what's beneficial to them and growing

is always more beneficial to you than being right for its own sake.

Now, the gentleman's philosophy of an argument should be that discussions should always be

encouraged because if you talk to other people, chances are, you can always learn something

from others and that's a good thing because you always want to improve yourself and be

a better person.

Also, opinions are not sacred, you have to be willing to sacrifice an opinion that you

hold dear to your heart and maybe adjust it or transform it completely.

I know it's hard but winning should never be the goal.

It goes against what you learned in kindergarten and all along the way where if you engage

in something, you want to win and competitiveness is good to a certain degree but you should

not try to just win and shout the other down but be open and productive and at the end

of the day, that will win you more respect and will make you more successful in the long

run.

Now, that all sounds nice in theory and it can be really tough if you have an opponent

who does not respect those rules.

Just the other day, for example, I was driving to a parking lot, there was a turn line and

a straight line and the arrows on the road had kind of faded.

So I was in the turn lane but I realized I wanted to go right so I set my blinker, I

drove over and I went to my parking spot.

When I got off the car, a guy pretty much next door came out and said "You're a real

shitty driver!"

So I said "I'm sorry if I cut you off, I did not mean to do that."

so he would go on and say "You're a really shitty driver!

You're a really shitty driver!"

I could see that he was upset so I looked at his car and he had actually parked in a

rental car spot, he had blocked two spots entirely and I said "Well, you should look

at your parking first."

When he felt attacked, he started calling me names, he said "You're a brick, you're

an a*****!" and he was very aggressive so I did not respond to that, it was hard for

me because you know, when somebody calls you that you want to be mean or sarcastic and

say things along the lines of "Well, if I would get advice, not from someone who can

park like that."

but I was able to control myself and not do that and basically walked away.

When I came back to my car, I saw him and I wished him a good day and he was still calling

me names but I just got into my car and drove away.

if you encounter those situations, sometimes, it's best not to engage because of those kind

of people, they drag you down to their level and then the beat you with their experience

because that's what they do all day long.

So the essence of this story is, if you want to be a gentleman, you have to stick to the

rules even if the other person does not.

Another important point is that your body language is equally important as your tone

of voice and what you say.

For example, my wife always that you have the idiot face on.

When I do that, which is somewhat subconscious, she automatically feels defensive no matter

what I say.

So trying to understand what you do and how your voice changes and how your facial expressions

change when you're upset or in disagreement and being able to control that can really

help in a situation of an argument.

Now, how do you argue with a spouse?

When you have a partner in life, there will always be arguments because at the end of

the day, you're different people, you have different points of views, and not having

any arguments is a sign of an unhealthy relationship.

So don't be afraid of having arguments from time to time.

However, in those situations, it's even more important to stick to the gentleman rules

otherwise, your relationship may suffer and it may even lead to divorce down the line.

So in those situations, the need to constantly win can really have a long term damaging effect.

So keep in mind that it's not always you who has to be right but you have to be open that

the other person is right as well, that you give it to them and you admit that.

Don't just brush concerns of your significant other aside or disengage and walk away or

maybe pout.

It's important to keep a dialogue going and to be honest and open until you resolve the

issue and you both forgive each other or admit the other person's position or continue in

a meaningful way.

That can be very emotional but it's important to try to show that you work on something

together rather than you just go to your corner and hoping that the other person comes after

you.

Don't bring up threats like I'm going to divorce you or I'm going to leave you or anything

of that kind in an argument because that is designed to shut down the conversation right

then and there which actually does not solve the issue, it just stops the discussion and

the resolution.

Don't bring up past transgressions or past fights that were already resolved.

If they're truly not resolved, maybe you have to sit down and discuss why it keeps coming

up over and over again and there may be an underlying issue but it can be unfair to go

back in old patterns and say things like "You're always like that!

Remember, your'e doing it again!"

Unless of course it's justified but doing it in such aggressive accusatory manner will

not help you in the argument.

Don't exaggerate actions of your spouse or the partner in your argument because that

will just enrage them more and it will be more emotionally charged, it will give them

a reason to point out that you are wrong in that regard and if you're wrong in that regard,

you may also be wrong in anything else that you say.

So try to stick to the facts and don't over inflate your numbers or whatever it is that

you are talking about.

Also, don't offer a fake apology or be sarcastic because that will immediately shut down the

conversation.

A good thing to keep in mind is rather than criticizing the person, criticize the action.

It takes out that personal element and chances are that your significant other will feel

less attacked by it and therefore be able to continue to keep the conversation going.

In conclusion, to argue like a gentleman, it's one of the most difficult things to do

because it means that you have to be vulnerable, you have to accept that you can be wrong,

you have to admit that your opinions are maybe not always right, you have to listen to others

and you have to keep the conversation going.

This is particularly difficult in a society where winning or weakness as a man is considered

as bad but in the long term, if you do those things, if you are tolerant, open minded,

and respectful of others, you will get respect back, it will help you in your career path

cos people will look at you as someone that has honest rules and judges himself and others

by the same standards so you are not a hypocrite but a good person and it will also help you

to grow and to become better and at the end of the day, win in that regard which is more

important than winning in a simple argument just by being louder or more right than the

other person.

Georgia van Etten - Sugar (Live Session at The Pool Studio) - Duration: 5:45.

Yeah sugar

I am not the type to be modest

And when I'm wearing that dress and dancing my best

I tend to intimidate

But you were like a fish fighting water

Yeah, yeah

Well you knew you would win

So I gave myself in

The devil now holds my fate

Are you sorry at all

You never made that call

And for those tears I won't let fall

Well you got the power and I got the pain

Take me down with novocaine

I broke so many I was bound to pay

I don't want your love

Please leave my veins

Yeah sugar

Standing on your roof it was perfect

Hey, yeah

With your accent so smooth

And the way that I move

We're like kids with a loaded gun

But I don't like this game it's not worth it

Hey, yeah

I don't wait, I don't chase, I won't play, I'll save face

Find some other girl to screw around

And are you sorry at all

You never made that call, call

And for those tears I won't let fall

Well you got the power and I got the pain

Take my down with novocaine

I broke so many I was bound to pay

I don't want your love

Please leave my veins

Yeah sugar

[trumpet solo]

Hey, yeah

Well you've got the power and I got the pain

Won't you take me down, take me down

I broke so many I was bound to pay

I don't want your love

Please leave my veins

Yeah sugar
