Youtube daily report Jun 2 2018

What's this attack on Titan season 3 is getting a world premiere in theaters? Wo

what's up guys Foxen here! You heard that right!

Meanwhile attack on Titan season 3 promotion has finally started here in

Japan. Just take a look at this picture I took a shot of the season 3 promotion

right as I was heading towards lunch. This attack on Titan season three

promotion being at the biggest train station in Japan. Yeah but anyway as

for this attack on Titan season 3 world premiere it turns out that the first

episode for season 3 is getting screened in the US and Canada so that's their

definition of world premiere. So this is taking place in July specifically July

10th and July 11th so two days. You might be wondering what is a catch for this.

You're gonna have to watch the attack on titan season to recap movie titled roar

of the awakening. To be honest not really a bad deal at all. I guess it just

depends on where you live. For me a movie tickets gonna be like almost twenty

dollars but anyway the total running time for the movie plus the attack on

Titan season 3 episode 1 is gonna be around a hundred forty minutes. As for

the actual US and Canada theater screenings they're actually doing both

the Japanese subtitle and the English dub so be sure to get this one right! On

Tuesday July 10th that one will be the subtitled one and Wednesday July 11th

will be the English dub once again don't mess that up. If you are interested in

this the official Funimation website is actually already up. Tickets officially

go on sale on June 8th so within a week.

However just keep in mind that some AMC Theaters already got pre-orders up. In

total this gonna be shown in around 130 theaters across the u.s. and Canada. I

would imagine just like other limited anime screenings most of the actual

theaters showing these screenings will be big chains or theaters located in

major cities. Right now I'm really just wondering how much of this was

Funimation's idea or doing. Of course Funimation does hold the rights worldwide

for attack on Titan however this is something that would greatly benefit

both parties. Funimation and the wit studio. For this I

could only imagine that Funimation gets to completely sell out theater showings.

While the WIT studio is gonna get a ton of almost

worldwide promotion for the upcoming attack on Titan season 3 not sure how

much that is needed but maybe for casual fans. As for the big question will you be

going keep in mind this is a few days after Anime Expo which I will be going

to by the way. For me personally I'm sure you could take a wild guess. Watching

anime movies or just anime stuff on the big screen is always a blast. I happen to

watch Kimi no Na Wa and the SAO movie and US theaters in the past. Recently

here in Japan I have been able to watch the final Digimon tri movie and the

final code years recap movie too which was also just so much fun. Perhaps

unfortunately I will be back in the u.s. during this time so I could

potentially check this out. The thing is these movies actually almost never play

it close to me so if I actually want to see this I might have to stick around la

a few days after Anime Expo if I want to. Either way this attack on Titan season

to recap movie is gonna be a great refresher before attack on Titan

season 3 comes out but anyway let me hear from you now! Question of the day

what do you think about the US and Canada getting the attack on Titan

season 3 episode 1 a couple weeks early? Are you interested in this? Is anyone

definitely going to this? Oh and here's a fun one what's the most time that you'd

be willing to drive to see this movie plus season 3 combo? 30 minutes? one hour?

two hours? Anything past that? Who is extremely dedicated? Anyway definitely

gives us a colossal thumbs up and subscribe you can enjoy five plus anime

videos here every week and right now! It's just under two months before attack

runs out in season 3 officially comes out which I will be covering weekly so

definitely subscribe hoping right now we'll be mostly caught up with videos I

missed this week so click that Bell icon and I'll see you guys later

This Is How Much Money Prince Harry Actually Has - Duration: 5:23.

Born Henry Charles Albert David in 1984, the Duke of Sussex has come a long way since his

party boy days.

He's now settled down with Meghan Markle and has to be an upstanding member of the royal

family.

Part of that responsibility is knowing how to manage money, but, spoiler alert: he'll

be fine.

From his multiple inheritances to his wife's substantial wealth, let's add it all up to

see how much Prince Harry is really worth.

From mom

Following her tragic passing in 1997, Princess Diana's will ensured that her two sons and

their families would be set up for life through a Discretionary Fund.

According to The Balance, the fund managed assets such as intellectual property, apparel,

and accumulated income.

Additionally, an estate was created for Prince William and Prince Harry and held in trust

until their 30th birthdays, and by that time, the estate had reportedly grown to $16 million.

Diana's sons both started receiving dividends when they turned 25, earning Harry $450,000

a year, according to Esquire.

The brothers also inherited their mother's private jewelry collection, though its value

remains unknown to this day.

Great-grandma and grandma

When great-grandma Queen Mother Elizabeth Bowes Lyon passed in 2002, she bequeathed

her estate to her only living child, Queen Elizabeth the second.

However, $18 million was left to Prince William and Harry to share, and since the rules pertaining

to the British monarchy's money are complicated, the bulk of that dough went into a trust for

Harry.

Why not William?

According to the Express, since the Duchy of Cornwall will pass to William when Charles

becomes king, Harry won't inherit any of that money.

When it comes to grandma Queen Elizabeth the second, it stands to reason that Harry will

inherit at least some of her wealth when she passes.

The royal family isn't big on discussing money, but according to BBC, in 2002 the queen inherited

her mother's entire estate, which was valued at $93 million at the time.

Forbes reported that the Queen has an estimated net worth of $500 million.

Duchy allowance

Let's go back to the Duchy of Cornwall.

According to the Express, the revenues from the estate include a staggering $6.8 million

annual allowance to cover, quote, "the costs of staffing, travel and the official wardrobes"

of Harry, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, and now Meghan Markle.

According to a 2016 article in the New Zealand Herald, Harry spent roughly $135,000 traveling

with his staff to Brazil and Chile.

Army paychecks

Military service for members of the British royal family is not required, but Harry completed

a 10-year career in the British Army in 2015.

He published a piece in The Times about his experience in Afghanistan, writing, in part,

"I saw some horrendous things: the tragic injuries and deaths of local people from roadside

bombs, some of whom were children; coalition forces lying on the battlefield; and the constant

ferrying of injured personnel to the hospital.

[…] See it, smell it, hear it, feel it, there was no escaping it."

According to Fortune, his salary was $45,000 per year.

Wealthy wife

Now that Meghan Markle is an official member of the royal family, her life will change

in a big way, but make no mistake, she wasn't looking for a sugar daddy she's rich on her

own.

The Duchess of Sussex walked away with a tidy sum from her time on the USA series Suits,

where Markle reportedly earned $50,000 per episode.

According to the Daily Mail, she's accumulated an estimated $5 million over the span of her

acting career.

Though she's no longer acting, Markle's economic power is greater than ever.

According to The New York Times,

"[She] could contribute [about $209 million] annually simply to British fashion in the

form of unofficial endorsements."

Thanks, dad

First in line to the throne, Prince Charles has generated a substantial fortune during

his lifetime.

According to Business Insider, he has a reported net worth of $100 million with some estimates

as high as $400 million.

The vast majority of his wealth flows from the Duchy of Cornwall, which paid him $25

million in 2016.

That same year, his total assets reached nearly $1.3 billion.

Prince Charles is also an entrepreneur, founding Duchy Originals, an organic food company,

in 1990.

At some point down the line, Prince Harry and his brother will likely split the bulk

of their father's tremendous wealth.

Combined net worth

Now that we know how Harry and Meghan earned their money, let's figure out their combined

net worth following their historic wedding.

The Duchess of Sussex brings about $5 million to the table, but what's in her husband's

wallet depends on who you ask.

Money reported that while there are many guesses out there, the conservative estimate right

now is $25 million.

"Boom."

It's safe to say that these newlyweds are probably worth at least $30 million... with

much more to come.

Yeah, they'll be just fine.

Democrats Freak As Trump Claims Major Victory For The 1st Time In Recorded History - Duration: 4:42.

Democrats Freak As Trump Claims Major Victory For The 1st Time In Recorded History.

President Donald Trump just claimed a major victory, accomplishing something which has

never been done before in recorded history.

The Democrats, of course, are freaking out, as it is becoming more and more clear that

Trump will be reelected in 2020.

President Donald Trump started the month off right on Friday with an early morning tweet

touting the upcoming payroll numbers before their release.

"Looking forward to seeing the employment numbers at 8:30 this morning," wrote Trump,

unafraid of jinxing himself.

When the numbers were released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, they did not disappoint.

In fact, according to the May 2018 jobs report, the economy added 223,000 jobs last month,

reducing the unemployment rate to 3.8 percent.

Broken down by race, the unemployment rate is 3.5 percent for whites, 5.9 percent for

blacks 2.1 percent for Asians, and 4.9 percent for Hispanics, which are among the lowest

rates on record for each group.

Unemployment has fallen to record lows since Trump took office, with last month's job

report showing an unemployment rate of just 3.9 percent — below what economists consider

"full employment."

Now, however, we have an even bigger breakthrough to report:

For the first time in recorded history, there is at least one job opening for every person

seeking a job.

Economists have been confirming that we are headed in the right direction for months.

"According to the latest data from the Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey, there

were 6.55 million job openings in March.

In March, there were 6.59 million unemployed, meaning there are 1.01 unemployed workers

for every job," reported MarketWatch.

"In July 2009, just as the U.S. exited the Great Recession, there were 6.65 unemployed

people for every available job."

President Donald Trump has proven that he is absolutely committed to putting Americans

back to work and getting them off of welfare programs.

And, with unemployment numbers the lowest they've been in 17 years — most notably

among black Americans — food stamp participation is plummeting:

The number of food stamp dependent Americans hit a six-year low in President Donald Trump's

first year in office, reflecting an improving economy and falling unemployment, according

to a U.S. Agriculture Department (USDA) report.

An average of 42.2 million Americans participated in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program

(SNAP) program in 2017, which is an 11 percent decrease from 2013, when a record number of

people used food stamps, according to USDA.

"Federal spending for SNAP totaled $68.0 billion or 4 percent less than in the previous

fiscal year," USDA reported.

"This was also 15 percent less than the historical high of $79.9 billion set in FY

2013."

[Source: The Daily Caller]

The Democrats, of course, are not happy about these numbers.

They're in the business of trading handouts for votes.

With the entire country being put back to work, their sick scheme is unraveling right

before their very eyes, courtesy of Donald J. Trump.

Conservatives measure success not by how many people receive government assistance, but

by how many people who don't.

This is one of the key differences between those on the right and their leftist counterparts.

Democrats have labeled themselves the "Party of the People," mainly by giving away "free

stuff" in exchange for votes.

Republicans, however, know that none of these handouts are actually "free."

Someone is paying for them, and that "someone" happens to be the hard-working American citizen

who would rather put in a ten-hour day at the factory than live their life on the dole.

Moreover, conservatives realize that helping people become independent of the government

is real compassion.

By contrast, ensuring that entire demographics are beholden to a certain political party

for their welfare checks is quite honestly modern-day slavery.

WHY JAPAN HATES YOUTUBERS - Duration: 7:55.

There might be people who think differently.

And I guess that's alright.

That acknowledges the diversity of opinions.

Enjoying someone's misery. - Yes that.

YouTubers who waste food in their videos are a bad role model.

Hey guys it's Cathy Cat and today on Ask Japanese we are gonna hit the streets of Tokyo

and ask Japanese people.

If you are new to our channel, don't forget to subscribe for future videos

from Japan, where we ask questions for you. This time the topic is:

YOUTUBE. There has been a big problem with YouTubers here in Japan.

They've been causing issues for other people. They've been causing nuisance

they have brought shops into big problems and actually

created a very negative image for other YouTubers out there.

Let's ask Japanese people what good and bad YouTubers they can thing of.

Let's go and Ask Japanese.

I heard that being a YouTuber is the most desired job in Japan these days. True?

That's true. Many children want to become YouTubers.

What is a good YouTuber to you then?

They do something funny. No matter who sees the video, it should be funny.

Kids and adults can watch it?

What do you enjoy seeing?

I watch Hajime Shacho a lot.

I like experiments and things with animals in them.

Good YouTuber's do not bother other people.

They do things they can do by themselves.

That shows a good sense.

I like packing videos.

When going to a vacation, seeing how they pack their stuff.

I enjoy videos like that.

I love Japanese packing videos too.

I like videos that are aimed for kids.

YouTubers who are careful about the statements they do.

Not slandering other people.

Even if saying their opinion, they state it's their personal opinion.

"There might be people who think differently. And I guess that's alright."

That acknowledges the diversity of opinions.

YouTubers who don't call out others as "waste" or "rubbish" and who don't use words like that.

YouTubers that keep the social etiquette.

Not those who do stupid things in order to get attention. That's not good.

What's a BAD YouTuber then?

YouTubers who break their own doors,

who grab people on the streets and are purposefully being a nuisance to them.

When I see that, I get cold.

YouTubers who use their sexuality to sell themselves on YouTube.

They use vulgar or sexual talk in order to get people to watch them.

That's how they try to get money.

Makes me wonder "Are you sure you wanna do that as person online?"

"Don't you think your mother would cry if she saw that?"

Especially when they do really embarrassing things. Do they think that's interesting?

No thanks.

Bullies.

They pick up some news online and blow it out of proportion

in order to then get views though that.

I can't think of a reason to find that good.

Enjoying someone's misery. - Yes that.

That's so low. I don't even want to watch that.

Revenue.

Yes, in the end they just do that to earn money.

Where have Japanese YouTuber's broken then rules?

Slander and defamation of others are really bad.

Wasting food videos are not good at all.

Causing trouble to other people.

Or breaking the public rules is not on.

People who purposefully destroy or defile things in town...

There was a incident where a YouTuber stuck things around town. Heard it?

Stuff like that is bad.

YouTubers who waste a lot of food.

Some get into trouble for doing that on Twitter.

That's when I realized it's not good.

I don't like YouTubers who are so loud and obnoxious in town, troubling others.

Doing what?

Shouting around. Getting people involved that clearly don't want to be.

Dragging other people or even the police into their videos for views.

I like "hidden camera surprise" videos but...

when they go too far, and I feel sorry for them. I don't like those.

What goes too far? - Not stopping when they suffer.

Or not telling them it was a set up.

I don't like that.

Those were our questions. Thank you.

BAD YOUTUBERS. Now YouTube right now in Japan...

is getting more and more of a bad image.

That's a problem for us here, Ask Japanese as well.

Because we obviously go up to people on the streets and

say hey, we are doing street interviews, they ask us for what.

We have to say YouTube.

Some of them do a bit of a sour face, because the media right now is

covering many negative things that YouTubers have done.

YouTubers as such are getting grouped into this box of people

that are not doing things properly.

So the image is going down right now.

One of the big things, was Logan Paul who came to Japan...

and messed it up with his video where he was very inconsiderate

of suicides in Japan.

Before and after that, Japanese YouTubers have messed up.

They've done pranks where they don't ask people, they have damaged goods

They have damaged stores...

They are making more and more of a bad name for Youtube.

While in other countries people go "Well that's just stupid people"

Here in Japan you get grouped into the box of "YouTubers"

And that gets more and more of a negative image with the older generation.

The younger generation, especially primary school kids,

YouTuber is their future dream job.

It's two extremes right now.

that we are seeing. Now bad YouTubers.

I am sure you can instantly think of someone.

And good YouTubers, I hope you can think of one too.

Leave us a note below what you think is a BAD / GOOD YouTuber.

I personally find... if you come to Japan and you want to YouTube...

Mind your manners and look out for areas where you are not allowed to film.

Japanese people do not like to be in videos. Don't just randomly film people.

Especially if they are on their own, big issue.

It's actually not ok to do that at all.

Next thing, you are usually not allowed to film in stores.

If you film in stores, go and ask can I film here?

I have seen people who walked into a store, filmed everything and walked out of it.

That's incredibly rude. Don't do that in Japan.

Mind you manners. You are ruining it for the rest of the people.

It doesn't only make you look bad but everyone else too.

Hopefully we will manage to get the image of YouTubers up a little bit.

By doing hard work and doing videos with quality that people will enjoy.

That's the idea. So let us know, good and bad YouTubers.

In your opinion. Put that into the comment box.

Looking forward to reading it. Also, don't forget to subscribe.

So you don't miss any future videos where we interview Japanese people

or where we take you on trips around Japan.

And show you some weird curiosities here.

I have been talking way too fast right now.

I wish you a lovely day and I catch you soon on Ask Japanese.

Don't forget to like. Bye.

Rudy Giuliani Just Released Bombshell New - Duration: 13:34.

Rudy Giuliani Just Released Bombshell New Info That Will End Trump Investigation

Donald Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani just spoke out to say he believes that new information

that would be revealed in a Department of Justice review would tank Robert Mueller's

investigation.

Right Wing News reported that Giuliani is calling for an official review from the Department

of Justice of the documents that led to the opening of Mueller's investigation, and

he thinks that this will reinvigorate the accusation that the probe was illegitimate

and should be ended.

He just opened up to reporters about his claim that accusations of "spying" on the Trump

campaign may delegitimize Mueller's investigation.

"If the spying was inappropriate," he said.

"That means we may have an entirely illegitimate investigation."

"Coupled with Comey's illegally leaked memos," Giuliani explained, "this means

the whole thing was a mistake and should never have happened."

"We'd urge the Justice Department to re-evaluate, to acknowledge they made a mistake," he

added.

"It's a waste of $20 million of the taxpayers' money.

The whole thing is already a waste of money."

This comes after Trump doubled down on his claims that the Obama administration authorized

a "spy" to infiltrated the Trump campaign and gather information for illegal political

purposes.

"Clapper has now admitted that there was Spying in my campaign.

Large dollars were paid to the Spy, far beyond normal.

Starting to look like one of the biggest political scandals in U.S. history.

SPYGATE – a terrible thing!" Trump tweeted on Thursday.

We're glad to see that Trump has no intention of allowing those who broke the law by spying

on him to get away with it!

What is wrong? (15) (Grammar Practice) [ ForB English Lesson ] - Duration: 2:17.

Hi everyone!

Welcome to ForB's English lesson videos.

I'm Rianna, and today, I'm going to give you a sentence and I'd like you to find the mistake.

Are you ready?

We discussed about our long-term plans.

We discussed about our long-term plans.

Did you catch it?

This time, I'll say it more slowly.

We discussed about our long-term plans.

We discussed about our long-term plans.

Did you find the mistake?

This time, I'll show you the sentence.

Are you ready?

We discussed about our long-term plans.

The mistake is "discussed about".

We do not say "discuss about".

We only say "discuss".

The reason behind this is "to discuss" means "to talk about" something.

So, if you say "to discuss about" it means "to talk about about".

It sounds redundant or repeating.

Let's practice the correct sentence together.

Please repeat after me.

We discussed our long-term plans.

We discussed our long-term plans.

Wonderful!

This is a very common mistake so please be careful when you use the verb "discuss" next time.

Thank you for watching!

See you!

Gaming Memories, Episode 2: The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask - Duration: 7:29.

Since I am mainly looking at videogames that may be suitable for people who have never really played videogames before,

I thought it might be time to look back at the discoveries and moments and more

associated with specific games I've played in my life. This is a series I'm calling 'Gaming Memories'.

When you ask a gamer 'what was the first Legend of Zelda game you ever played?'

it's very likely they'll say it was a revolutionary one, such as 'A Link to the Past' and

'Ocarina of Time'. Instead my first one was the more surreal and surprisingly different, yet

still amazing 2000 Nintendo 64 game 'Majora's Mask'.

At the beginning of the new millennium,

the glowing reviews that 'Majora's Mask' and its predecessor 'Ocarina of Time' got from video game critics and journalists were hard to ignore.

So I had to try one of them out, and for some odd reason,

the one I chose to rent was the newest one – 'Majora's Mask'.

What followed after inserting that golden N64 cartridge into the console would change my life forever.

As mentioned before, Majora's Mask was more surreal and unique in contrast to other Zelda games,

especially its predecessor. It was darker, and had more of an Alice in Wonderland vibe. At the beginning of the game,

you are removed of a lot of precious things.

A mischievous Skull Kid with the aid of two glowing fairies steals your ocarina and your horse Epona…and then uses the dangerous curses

of the title mask to turn you into a plant like creature - a Deku Scrub.

This was storytelling in a videogame on a whole new level for me personally.

While many gamers may have dropped their jaws at the cinematic storytelling of benchmark games such as 'Final Fantasy 7' and 'Metal Gear Solid',

this was my equivalent of that.

This was different from kart racing games, or playing as Mario the plumber or Banjo the bear to rescue a female character.

It is stated in the game's prologue that Link is searching for a 'beloved and invaluable friend', and to have him lose his strength and

agility not long after was subconsciously devastating.

In contrast, 'Ocarina of Time' had a generally calm beginning in a little forest where Link could take as much time as he needed practicing sword fighting

and other basic techniques. In retrospect,

it'd be hard to imagine what my introduction to powerful storytelling

in videogames would've been like if I had played the predecessor to 'Majora's Mask' instead, as amazing and revolutionary as it was.

Not long after your transformation, you enter the interior of the Clock Tower in the land of Termina.

The abstract camera angles and the atmospheric music added to the chills that were already down my spine.

You meet the mysterious and quite possibly creepy Happy Mask Salesman [who was in 'Ocarina of Time']

who gives you the overarching quest for the game:

retrieve your stolen ocarina and most importantly the title mask of the game that the Skull Kid took for himself –

so that Link may be transformed back to human form. And you have to do it in three days.

When he says it's not a difficult quest, he couldn't be more wrong.

After talking to the mask salesman for the first time, you are very limited in the places

you can go – your demeanor as a childish looking plant creature doesn't even grant you access outside the town [well, except for glitches].

I enjoyed going around Clock Town and talking to the locals – an action more reminiscent of RPGs,

a genre that the Zelda series doesn't necessarily belong to yet borrows many elements from. But during my explorations

I noticed something else that made me partially realize on a subconscious level why the Zelda series was so loved –

[again, an aspect that makes the RPG genre so appealing] its music!

The music for Clock Town is memorably catchy and is so fitting for the setting.

On top of this, as the three-day time limit presses on, the tune gets more and more urgent.

Countless other music tracks follow this pattern of quality, so it goes without saying that overall 'Majora's Mask' features an excellent soundtrack,

but it was the Clock Town tune and to some extent the music preceding it that that really affected me on an emotional level.

But then something happened in regards to how I approached the game and what the

consequences of my actions were. This blew my young mind away.

The land of Termina is destroyed by a giant falling moon in an apocalypse,

should you fail to save it in three days…but here's the problem, as far as my gaming expertise was concerned…

I had never really played an adventure game featuring RPG elements in my life before, so my young mind had trouble connecting the dots in

ways that weren't related to, say, jumping on platforms.

Despite not being that good at the game to begin with and not really knowing what to do,

it was the controls and music that kept me going.

But I wasn't prepared for the moment when a countdown appeared showing the three-day time limit was nearly up.

I get treated to constant ringing from the Clock Tower, heavy tremors in the ground,

empty town squares, and ominous music that completely replaces the suitably bouncy Clock Town tune.

Then this cutscene happens.

It became a bit of an adventure,

coupled with head-scratching, as I gradually figured out how to get the ocarina back from the Skull Kid, which allows you to travel back

to the beginning of the three-day time limit – something you're forced to do lots of times in the game. In that regard,

'Majora's Mask' is one of the more difficult and less accessible games in the Zelda series.

If my experience with being the Deku Scrub in Clock Town is any indication, the solutions for how to progress through the game are not necessarily obvious,

and it may [or may not] even be that way to you.

So despite all this, I did like 'Majora's Mask', and I still do. As I gradually got older, and played it alongside

suitably easier Zelda games such as 'Ocarina of Time' and especially 'Wind Waker',

I really enjoyed trying to complete the game, and playing with the puzzles and masks, the latter of which were hinted at in the instructions.

I don't know why I didn't play one of the other games instead to introduce myself to the Zelda series,

but in retrospect I really don't mind. In fact I wouldn't have it any other way.

'Majora's Mask' is probably more complex and intelligent in its storytelling and atmosphere

than 'Ocarina of Time' [the game that became my favourite Zelda].

Characters having actual lives and possibly dying, lore and mythology that was used from previous games and

expanded on, not to mention lovely production values that were borrowed from its predecessor and expanded on with the Expansion Pack accessory -

these were the things that I experienced while playing games in my transition from childhood to teenagehood.

The music, the controls, the genre, the storytelling –

'Majora's Mask' introducing me to the Zelda series and gradually changing my perspective on games will always remain one of my most special gaming memories.

Chasing Challenges | Naba Zabih - Duration: 6:18.

My name is Naba Zabih.

I'm from Panama City, Florida.

I was a student here at UF

until my 21st birthday as of November

and I'm currently pursuing photography full time.

I've been in photography for like ever

but it was never like a career choice

it was just something I did for fine it was like a stress relief.

When I started photography I literally was shooting everything.

I shot babies,

I shot families, I shot maternities,

events at my mosque or whatever which I

never knew what I was doing. I was like, I click the button, I don't know

but I shot everything

and then like getting into it I realized my favorite thing to photograph was couples.

You just like build such a connection with people and I love that

I love human connection and I also love being able to observe

other people

in their like realm and with the person they love the most.

Like I think there's something very intimate and beautiful about that.

I actually

I started out on the bio pre-med route.

At a certain point I realized like this is just like not for me.

I was taking all of the basic classes

as a stem major like chemistry and all that stuff

and I just

was lagging.

I thought it was just like me not

like transitioning well into college classes

I started realizing like it's a little bit more than that like I'm like

actually like slowing down and I'm

like constantly in pain and I was getting to

pretty much like every single day like I was coming home in tears, I was like I

have no idea what's going on with my body

like I am ridiculously like exhausted

and just I don't know what's going on.

From the same time I was kind of

noticing I just feel like this giant lump growing in my chest.

There was one night

that things just got really really rough and I was just like in excruciating pain.

My roommates took me to Shands which

I now absolutely hate because we were there for like nine hours

and it was the worst experience of my entire life.

I think around that time I started realizing like

as much respect as I have for people in this field

finally kind of being the position of like the patient and then seeing like

the reality of it I was like I don't want to be

in a workforce

where this is my day in a day out, like I don't want to be around

like sick sad people because

it's like I was a sick sad person

I kind of realize like that for me I was like I

need life to be

more than that like I was like I think that

this was such a significant period of time for me that

the rest of my life I don't want to be

in that place I want to be like living life

like I want to be on mountaintops

and ocean sides, like I want to be everywhere and see everything.

I think when I hit that moment that's when I started

switching things around I

switched to journalism

because I always

okay I thought, okay journalism, it was like writing

it's creative and I was like there's photojournalism

maybe I could go into that.

It was funny because I told everyone I was doing journalism so that I could

take it kind of as like a pre req thing and then go into law later

because you know I felt like I had to have like that

justifiable end goal like I felt like I

you know if not medicine, if not engineering, I was like law still you know up there

like Asian community, like okay law cool.

It was so like half-assed I was like, "yeah I wanna be a lawyer."

Journalism still wasn't enough like I still felt like, I was dragging, I was like

I don't want to be here

like I really knew that this wasn't for me and I gave myself the

chance to figure out what I did want to do.

I think most of us especially at this age,

kind of the generation that we're at

a lot of us have parents who came from

overseas and stuff

I think it's almost like we have not so much a pressure to

like be these majors as much as it is to like

make sure that our parents

struggles weren't in vain

and I think that pressure like hits so hard for some of us.

I know for me, when I was making this decision or whatever,

I definitely had moments where I straight up was just like

start crying because I was like oh my god like I'm gonna let my parents down.

I think the community we come from

a lot of us want to have the career where we're able to take care of our parents.

It makes it harder to step out and

do something that maybe you want to do because

obviously when you're stepping out into a creative field,

that stability isn't there from 9:00 to 5:00, you know.

You definitely kind of have to take risks and stuff.

There's not going to be that confirmation.

For me I was super super lucky that my parents were so supportive

and I think they realize like how much I wanted this,

so they

told me like, look at the end of day we want you to be happy. It's not about us anymore it's about you

and I was so ridiculously fortunate to have that.

Coming from like

my version of the Asian you know community

you know, the Desi community

we have this saying it's like, "log kya kahenge"

like it means, "what will people say"

and I think

like that one has probably been

the biggest stereotype that I've hit with what I've wanted to do kind of thing.

I've had friends like from my community who are like, well you know

like what are people gonna say about you like

and I think it's crazy how

strong like that influences, like what are other people gonna think, you know?

Versus, like no

you should follow you for what you want to do.

I think as like an Asian community we're so caught up in

what we think we're supposed to do

that we don't let ourselves actually realize like

this is what I want to do.

Like I've had friends who I know are incredible artists

you know, incredible anything that's outside of whatever they are doing

it kills me that they aren't able to

break away and see that because they're so caught up in

I need to do this for my parents, I need to do this for my community

and I'm like, at the end of the day as

morbid as it sounds, like it is just you in life.

Yeah, your parents might be on the sidelines cheering you on when they see you doing that 9 to 5

but if it's not something you really want to do every day you're gonna go into work and have this feeling of

you know, why am I here?

like you're not happy and is this really what you want to limit your life to

and if it is make sure it's because it's something that you love

and if it's not then like what you doing? Like get out.

I would love to think that

by stepping out and doing something different I'm redefining what it means to be an Asian American

but I think

it's gonna take time before that's accepted as redefining

whereas right now I think I'm being hit with a lot of

you're just being rebellious, you're just stepping out, and doing something crazy.

Like I think that a lot of Asian Americans that are following these different

career paths are being told that the this is just a phase not so much that

they're you know actually pursuing legitimate careers.

If that's what you want like, you follow it because

no matter what you do in life like it's

gonna be hard like nothing's easy

but if you want it then it's gonna be worth, you know

working for versus if you don't want it you're just gonna be sitting here miserable and like

always thinking, what if?

Which Way- Emily Manning - Duration: 0:57.

Afraid to die, afraid to live.

Afraid to forget, afraid to forgive.

Afraid of the truth, afraid of the lies.

Afraid of your face, afraid of your eyes.

Afraid to try, afraid to fail.

Afraid of myself, afraid of the scale.

Afraid to smile, afraid to cry.

I want to live, I want to die.

I want the truth, I want the lies.

I want your face, I want your eyes.

I want to fail, I want to try.

I want to smile, I want to cry.

I want to lose, I want to win.

I want to sink, I want to swim.

I want to let go, I want to hold on.

I want to exist, I want to be gone.

When will I know which way to sway?

As soon as I decide I deserve to be okay.

Drawing, poem and song created by Emily Manning. Thanks for listening :)
