4.5 Misconceptions About the Circular Economy - Duration: 8:28.

For some, a circular economy is a renaming of some very familiar activities,

like recycling, or going to zero waste, or making something useful from waste.

That all seems pretty easy to grasp, and once people realize that this must be

about closing the loop, then they get busy with marketing the new label.

Unfortunately, this interpretation is incomplete, and it misses out on the most

powerful aspects of the circular economy and its potential to transform

the way our economy works.

Here are a few of the most tempting misconceptions to avoid.

The first misconception is: "A circular economy is a better form of recycling

or waste management." It happens when we focus down or zoom

to far into the detail of how a business might go circular.

But let's face it. Would we really need circular economy as a term

if all we were talking about was just materials recovery?

In fact the revival of the term "circular economy" around 2009 in the West,

even a cursory look reveals an idea based on intellectual streams

which coalesce around designing effective systems.

Especially in the work from Cradle to Cradle, biomimicry,

performance economy and natural capitalism.

As a result, circular economy is one of those inconvenient big picture ideas.

It's about seeing the way the world really works.

It's a dynamic complex system, it's full of feedback, exchange,

building up and breaking down.

It has stocks and flows of resources that are interdependent.

In it, materials cycle around, while energy flows through

and can be lost as heat to space. And, of course, it's interesting economically.

So, if it's all about systems, why call it circular? Some might say that's

too good to be true, a bit too neat and tidy, or even a bit unsophisticated.

How about spiral, fractal, nonlinear, this is where the media see

if the term "circular" wins out. The idea is to suggest that this is not

a linear economy, if it's not take, make and dispose, then

the opposite sounds better and is recognizable.

We are embedded in cycles. In a crude way it's how stuff gets done

in the biosphere, the atmosphere, from the earth's crust to the deep blue oceans.

If we're going to get fastidious about terminology, even a linear economy

is not entirely or mostly linear, since so much stuff loops back

in a chaotic, polluting badly designed way, eventually.

You could say that a linear economy is still circular, just not as you'd want it,

and with significant negative impacts at every stage in the process.

So, it's a characterization. Circular as a word

meant to invoke the notion that by intention and design

the feedback loops work to enrich, nourish and add value.

They therefore enable regeneration and restoration, instead of lead to

degeneration and consumption. It fits the economy to nature,

not nature to the economy. The economy works better that way and for much longer.

This common misconception of the circular economy as a perfect recycling machine

can lead to the image of a closed-loop plumbing system, like the circular flow

of income and expenditure seen in economic textbooks.

But now with widgets, rather than income and expenditure,

it's an understandable temptation, but the pipe analogy is faulty.

It's a version of a linear mechanistic approach.

It's understandable, and it looks circular on paper,

but it's unrealistic, once the boundaries are extended

and we appreciate that the economy is embedded in wider systems.

This pipe image assumes tightly-controlled close loops,

but such control is something of an illusion in wider real systems terms.

It's a long way from the ideas of Janine Benyus, a significant influence

on the circular economy concept and others who speak of feeding

the forest to feed the trees. Of leaky but nutritious loops, and the notion

"be generous" of making everything into food for another part of the system.

This way of thinking understands if the system thrives, so does the individual.

It's about working against big planetary boundaries,

with an open systems approach in mind.

One reason for the popularity of this simplistic misconception,

might be down to the fact that it can be operationalized.

A business can get some of their stuff back, chop the materials up and put them to use.

But even if this interpretation of a circular economy

works well with the existing playbook, for the most part it fixes

resource questions but nothing much else, and leaves the economy sub-optimal.

The issue deep down lies in trying to fix just one thing, and bringing materials

and products into the economic pipe work has unintended consequences.

If we're charitable, this could be seen as a starting point.

A way of working out how to make circularity work.

But the essential challenge is closed loop versus open loop thinking,

and that's pretty fundamental.

It's not transition, but transformation which is being attempted.

Where do we get all this energy we need to actually power this new system?

The aforementioned pipe analogy can lead to the criticism of a circular economy

as a perpetual motion machine which has like textbook economics assumed abundant

sources of energy and makes impossible assumptions about endless cycles.

About economic growth magic from within the closed system.

This is a common criticism from the sight of those who see

a declining surplus of energy and with it, declining economic growth.

It's a serious question.

And echoing Michael Braungart, possibly one of investing

what energy surplus we have now in new infrastructure while we can.

However, the idea here is that if we can redesign a system along the lines

of a devolved multi-layered circular economy,

this energy question becomes easier to address.

Knowledge, digital and other tools, and energy harvesting resources

like wind and solar, are becoming cheaper to match needs with opportunities.

Building an economy from the bottom up,

using what's available as well as recognizing the top-down,

brings different questions about how to generate, distribute and use energy.

Gunter Pauli, our pioneer in this respect, works around the notion:

"Respond to basic needs with all of what you have,

introducing innovations inspired by nature, generating multiple benefits

including jobs and social capital, offering more with less."

There was a hint of a half of a misconception about the circular economy.

It's a supermarket off-the-shelf fallacy and the illusion of choice.

Too much is expected by way of instant gratification.

I want a new economy, and I want it now!

That circular economy didn't come ready to you, so I'm hacked off!

Yeah, right, change takes time.

More like evolution than shopping, perhaps.

We're more participant than consumer in all of this.

Well hey there, I'm Emma from mmmEnglish!

Today, I've asked a good friend of mine

to join me for a tongue twister challenge!

And you might just recognise her!

Just in case you missed it, yesterday,

November the eleventh,

was International Tongue Twister Day.

Yep, there is an official day to twist your tongue

and focus on some challenging English sounds.

So Gabby and I decided that we'd like to celebrate

this fine day with you

by challenging each other and you

to complete some tricky tongue twisters.

Now you may recognise Gabby from the amazing

Go Natural English Youtube channel.

If you do know her, make sure you say hi

in the comments below.

She'll be down there saying hi too.

Gabby is an American English teacher and since

I'm an Australian English teacher,

you might hear some differences in our pronunciation

during this lesson.

Most notably, you'll hear a little difference in

vowel sounds and the

/r/ consonant sound,

particularly when it's at the end of words.

So see if you can recognise some of those differences.

You might need to listen carefully.

So try to focus on the short /ɪ/ and avoid the long

/ɪ/ sound.

'Rural brewery' - it's a tongue twister on its own, isn't it?

The challenge is the /r/ consonant sound

so if you need to spend a few minutes getting your

tongue warmed up and ready for that sound, then do it!

So the tip of your tongue

should not be touching anything at all

and it should be raised up a little in the middle

and pulling back in your mouth.

Rural.

Now, you're lucky

that neither Gabby or myself

speak with a British English accent because this word

is really hard to say in an English accent.

Ready? Practise with me!

That's the /u/ vowel sound.

So the second syllable is unstressed

and it's lower in pitch.

Now, 'brewery'.

So the middle syllable here is really soft

so if you're having a lot of trouble pronouncing this word

then I've got a tricky for you!

Try

It's close enough

and it's a little easier to say.

Now there's a noticeable difference in the way

that Gabby and I pronounce this word, 'warrior'.

Can you hear the difference in that

stressed syllable there?

That /ɒ/ sound. The first syllable.

And that's actually the same sound that you'll hear

in this male name, 'Roger'.

And in 'wrongly', as well.

So where I pronounce this vowel sound as

Gabby uses more of an R sound.

Roger.

Wrongly.

And did you also notice the different pronunciation

at the end of the name, 'Roger'?

Standard American English pronunciation

pronounces the /r/ sound at the end

after the vowel sound, and you'll hear Gabby say that.

Roger.

But standard British English and Australian English,

we don't pronounce that sound.

Roger.

So this is a really noticeable pronunciation difference

between our accents.

Hey, what's up guys? I'm Mike. And I'm Nelly.

We are Miami-based travel vloggers and today we're going to be guest vlogging for EF.

We've been living in Miami for over three years and we know Miami can be really expensive.

That's why today we're going to show you Miami Beach on a budget.

Today we're going to talk about a few topics: how to save money and how to get around Miami.

Not only are we going to show you how to get around Miami on a budget,

but we will also show you a few fun and inexpensive activities in and around town.

Miami Beach is amazing to explore by skateboard

but, if you don't skate, there are many other ways to get around.

CitiBikes are a great option. They are inexpensive and flexible.

You can pick them up at one station and return them at another.

And then there is the Miami Beach Trolley that takes you around town for free.

Just hop on and off - wherever you need to go.

Not in the mood for public transportation?

Uber has an option called UberPool or UberPool Express.

It's much cheaper than uberX and just as comfortable.

So let's get to the inexpensive activities.

Number one on that list has to be strolling along the beach

and going for a dip in the refreshing water.

Want to stay in shape while in Miami?

Muscle Beach has got you covered with a jungle gym, weights and like-minded people.

If you need something a little bit more relaxing, head on over to the free yoga classes

every morning at 3rd Street Beach Yoga.

Alternatively, you can just go for a run and enjoy the sunrise at South Pointe Pier.

This spot is also great for sunsets as you have a great view of downtown Miami and the harbor.

When you are in Miami, don't just stick to Miami Beach.

Try and check out the neighborhoods on the mainland as well.

Right now we're in Wynwood, an artsy neighborhood with galleries and murals all over the walls.

There are some guided art walks, but you can also just go out on your own.

Check out some beautiful murals. Look them up online and read up on the artists.

It's really a lot of fun.

We should have taken a sun umbrella with us because Wynwood gets really hot.

There's a ton of small little artsy shops, coffee shops and restaurants

that you can try in Wynwood, so take your time!

When it comes to eating out on a budget in Miami Beach, happy hour is the name of the game.

Just check online which restaurants have happy hours.

We're standing outside Bodega, one of our favorite taco places in Miami Beach.

They usually have a happy hour with 2 dollar tacos, 4 dollar salsa with chips,

4 dollar guacamole with chips - you get really full on that stuff.

Groceries can also be expensive in Miami. The solution?

Little Cuban shops and Cuban markets where the food is way cheaper.

They even have pre-prepared meals that are really tasty, fresh and delicious.

As we already mentioned, Miami can be really expensive

so make sure to check out the neighborhood spots.

One of our neighborhood spots is GoGo Fresh Food where we get our daily fresh salads.

They have amazing soups. They have the best empanadas here.

The value for money is just amazing.

Another great tip for online resources

are the ones that I use for food recommendations.

One of them is Miami Eater. Another one is Miami New Times Food & Drink.

There is a website about Miami on a budget.

It's called miamionthecheap.com, and you can find some really good information

and things to do in and around Miami as well.

All in all, Miami is an absolutely beautiful place to hang out, but be careful...

The weather can actually change within seconds.

Hi everyone. Wallace here with your Monday video.

I'm gonna tell you a little bit about some escapist books right now. I don't

know if I'd call them escapist. But if you're just tired of the news and you

need something to read that just at least takes your mind off of it a

little bit, um, I've got three books for you. One of them does have to do with

politics but I think it's actually just like a book that you'll find fun.

Last year Little Brown sent me the whole collection of Ellen Hildebrand's um

Winter Street collection. There were four, I think the fifth one actually just came

out. So this is a good time if you haven't read these to start them. I'm

actually starting because they sent them closer to Christmas last year and so I

didn't get a chance to read them. So I'm starting the first one now cause

there's five of them now and I'm a slow reader.

um And I'm, I just have been reading it before bedtime and it's a really good

before bedtime book. There's some things that happen in it, like you know trigger

warning for cheating and stuff like that. And that's like right there on the cover,

I'm not giving anything away. um But otherwise it's Elin

Hillebrand so it's not going to be something that's unbearable to read.

It's gonna be something that, I don't want to say light because she's not always super

light, but she's always quick paced. So you're not gonna be sitting in the

darkness for a long time. There's gonna be-- and there's lots of characters in all

of her books. So there's always gonna be something else going on. And I just love

the feel of Elin's books and I love reading them before a bedtime or like

not vacation because I don't know what time I was on vacation reading.

But, um, this would be a good vacation book if you've got like a winter

vacation coming up or like over Thanksgiving if you're traveling on the

plane or something like that. And they're small so they're easy to pack with you.

The next one just came out. It's called I'm okay. This is a young adult novel

about a young korean-american boy who lives with his single mom. And now that

his dad is gone, he knows he needs to help make some money or he feels he

needs to help make some money. So he wants to enter the talent show at school

to win the cash prize to help out for multiple reasons. And then there's a

group of girls at school that are not nice to him. It's just kind of all of the

12-year old stuff that happens. This might also be a nice book to read

if you're done with the heavy stuff. And then this last one is Charlotte Walsh Likes

to Win is about a woman who's running for office.

um It's by Jo Piazza. She helped, she co-wrote the knockoff and fitness

junkie and like a couple of other ones that are really light. So this one,

although I think there are some themes through it that are heavier or like are

more poignant, you know, such as women running and the difference between men

and women who are running for office and how they're gonna act and what they can

get away with. And there's definitely gonna be pieces that resonate strongly

in our culture today. It's also, I mean I've started it already. It's also a

book that that is pretty light and it's not going into like super deep depth. So

it's kind of just like talking about these subjects. So you don't really need

to worry about feeling, I don't know, I don't want to tell you how to feel. But you

probably don't need to worry about feeling too anxious or upset about this

book. It might just be a little something that's interesting to you to read during

this time period and then it's light enough. And you know the plot is plot based.

Its plot based enough that it'll just kind of get you through the book

instead of worrying about all of the intense feelings that you might be

feeling just around election and around all the other stuff that's going on in

the world right now. If you have other favorite books right now that you're

reading just to kind of get out of your head or get away from the TV, you can put

SWISSTUBERS Are Dead To Me?! | Storytime - Duration: 39:30.

Welcome to the subtitles! :)

Today we're gonna talk about a very serious topic.

It's gonna be about the "Swisstubers". This group is or more specific was part of the Swiss Youtube community.

This group no longer exists. And nobody wants to be part of it anymore.

But I was part of it. And there's quite some stuff I wanna to talk about.

In this group, there were lies, catty stuff, bullying, but also simple communication problems.

And no one ever wanted to make an official statement about it.

And since this group kind of unofficially doesn't exist anymore, I just want to let you guys know, what happened behind the scenes.

Important: The group "Swisstubers" is/was not the whole Swiss Youtube community. It was rather just a part of it.

There are several reasons why I want to talk about the Swisstubers today.

First of all, a lot of the bad stuff that went down in that group, stressed me out mentally so much.

And with this video, I want to get closure for myself. That's the main reason for this video.

Also, a lot of people always thought, the Swisstubers group was so open and friendly, but for a big part (not for everyone obviously) that's not necessarily the case.

And I believe you guys have a right to know how this group truly behaved sometimes.

Next reason: Stefanie Heinzmann is an awesome Swiss music artist (she has nothing to do with the whole Swisstubers story don't worry). But she released a new song recently with some very fitting lyrics.

I'm always saying that on Youtube we should not only talk about all the happy stuff, but we should also discuss serious topics.

And also, there's Shane Dawson. An amazing American Youtuber that recently did a series where he has an interesting conspiracy theory that all YouTubers could have sociopathic tendencies.

Because we all show so much of our (daily) life on the internet with all those views and likes and validation. So the theory says that this can lead to personality disorders.

Important: I would never claim that there are Swisstubers that are sociopaths. I'm not a doctor. I can't and I wouldn't ever say that.

But what I agree on with Shane is, that I got to know Swisstubers that in my opinion totally lost reality and thought they're better people with more subscribers.

Another reason: "TheScraper" (a former Swiss comedy duo) tagged me to do the "anti-bullying" tag that was created by "Cyru" (another Swiss Youtuber).

I was confronted with bullying when I was in school because I had my coming out as gay when I was a young teenager. So I already made multiple videos about this topic.

But also at the Swisstubers group, there were some actions of people that could be considered somewhat bullying. So this is why I wanted to combine the tag with this video.

And last but not least there was one major reason for this video that made me just wanna do this storytime.

If you saw some of my latest videos you know, that I made a Swiss LGBT influencer premiere of the movie "Love Simon". I invited some Swiss LGBT influencers and together with our communities we watched the movie and had a great talk.

And at this event, which btw was very important to me (I did not get paid for it either), I got to know one Youtuber called "SimiiLila".

And she told me she always thought of me as an egotistic Swisstubers leader. But only now when she got to know me she realized that I was actually a nice person (in her words).

And at this point, I knew I just want to say my part and my point of view about the whole situation. Because however the Swisstubers group behaved like, I often took responsibility even when bad stuff that went down was not on me.

And yeah, you see there are many reasons why I want to make this video. And I hope this video will also help the next generation of Swiss Youtubers to not make the same mistakes as we did.

And now, before we start, there are two very important disclaimers.

1. This video is by all means not meant to start any drama. I don't have the time for any beef and that's just not something I'm up for. And I also don't claim that I and only I know the absolute truth about the stories. This is my most sincere point of view how I felt during all those stories.

And I'm even saying that it's not just the fault of all the other Swisstubers. I clearly state that I made mistakes too. But the difference is that I'm willing to own my mistakes.

2. I'm not gonna point fingers or drop any names. If I name a person in my stories they're only mentioned in a positive way. Otherwise, I don't need to do any namecalling. If (Ex-)Swisstubers watch this video they're hopefully knowing themselves if I'm referring to them.

I hope those (Ex-)Swisstubers that sometimes behaved so rudely and never even apologized for it, can now reflect on their behavior. And also the following stories happened already some years ago, so I hope some people grew up and changed their perspective.

Again: Not every (Ex-)Swisstuber was rude. And also the ones that were, were not rude all the time.

And now finally let's start with all those stories about the Swisstubers.

So the whole thing will be split up in 10 different stories.

First of all: Who are those Swisstubers? So I got to know Anna ("MissImpulsiv") in 2014. She was the first Swiss Youtuber I knew and collaborated with.

And we both said that there must be more people. So we contacted some other Swiss Youtubers and made a group including a Whatsapp chat. We were like not even 10 People and we all became friends quickly.

At the same time, Google/Youtube Switzerland started to support Swiss Youtubers. So we were all invited to Google in Zurich (CH) where we met for the first time. And we also got to know Googles' community manager that was in charge of the German-speaking Youtubers.

A little funny side story: The name "Swisstubers" was not invented by a Swisstubers. It was brought up by Julia Graf during the event. She was always called the most subscribed Swiss Youtube channel although I don't know if that's (still) true.

She was not part of the Swisstubers but she came up with that hashtag because we wanted to share all our photos and videos we were allowed to make under the same hashtag.

And our Whatsapp group adapted to that name. And we started calling ourselves Swisstubers.

And then the first "drama" happened, which was less of a drama and just more stupidity on my part. One day out of the blue I just wrote in our Whatsapp group complaining "Why are there only beauty gurus?"

And all the girls were offended by that. Obviously, that was not meant as in insult. Not every woman on Youtube only does beauty videos. And even if, that should not be taken as a bad thing. I really don't know why I wrote that.

The second story is about organizing the Swisstubers group.

Through those Google/Youtube Switzerland events I got a good connection to the community managers we were working with. So sometimes when there was an email for the Swisstubers, I got to me first and I distributed it to everybody else.

And those who are following my channel for quite some time now know, that I'm a volunteer for many years at a local youth group called "Jubla" where I help to organize a lot. So I was willing to also help organize stuff for the Swisstubers group.

And I did organize quite a lot for the Swisstubers group. But some people were really ungrateful and not even once said thank you. I'm talking about the Swisstubers Meet & Greets especially. Those were Meet & Greets with viewers for all Swisstubers.

And those Meetups needed to be organized. You have to stay in contact with the city because of the public space we were using for those events etc. And I and some helpful people always did this.

And all of the sudden Swisstubers felt managed by me. And I understand that this may went too far because I was and am no ones' manager.

The problem with that was, that you could never make everybody happy. You could please 9 out of 10 people and it still felt like a disaster because of the 1 raging person that wouldn't wanna fit in. And I mean I always talked through every aspect of what I organized with all the people in the chat.

And the cattiest thing was: The ones that were always unhappy with how I organized stuff were the ones, that never helped organizing when I asked for help but were the ones that always attended whatever I helped to organize for the Swisstubers.

And I mean we did quite some cool stuff like visiting Google in Zurich, going on a "Foxtrail", all the Meet & Greets etc.

And in my volunteer youth group, people are always thankful when someone organized the events and they help each other out and give fair feedback. At the Swisstubers, it was the total opposite. Ungrateful and catty people (not everybody of course), people that slander your name behind your back and that's just not okay.

Story number three is about our meet & greets.

I always used the tool "Doodle" for our meet & greets. It helps you to find the best possible date for whatever you're organizing.

And at one of those "Doodles," we had a date were everybody was available except one person. And believe me: To find a date that's okay for 10 people is NOT easy, so I was pretty happy we found one where almost everybody could come.

And that one person that couldn't come made huge drama and acted like we don't want her to come. And I had to explain that it's only fair that the meet & greet is at the date when the most people are available.

And instead of trying to understand our point of view this one Swisstuber said something I will never ever forget. She said: " Okay, I won't come to this Swisstuber Meet & Greet because you all know that most the viewers only come to see me!"

That just showed me the true face of this person, to be honest. And it's just such a NO GO, so immature.

And if you ask: "Joel, why did you do all the organizing stuff for so long?" And I hope that just shows that my intentions were pure and actually really cared about that Swisstubers group.

Storytime number 4 tells the story of our meet & greet "posters".

Our Swisstuber Meet & Greets always had a digital poster (not one that you print, but one just online as a photo that we all could post). And the flyer had all the important information about our meetups.

And one time I made a big mistake. I made the poster and I wanted it to look like a Swiss cross. So I wanted to place the photos of all attending Swisstubers in a cross shape. But I didn't know what order to place them in, so I placed them in the ranking of their amount of subscribers.

Obviously, nobody liked that idea. And I honestly don't know why I did that. Because I always said every Swisstuber is equal no matter how many subscribers he/she has. So if I could go back in time, I would definitely change that.

But there was also another "poster" drama. So after a few meet & greets there was another Swisstuber that helped with the "poster". This person asked all the Swisstuber to send her a photo with a white background (in a very short amount of time).

Nonetheless, I made this photo the same day she asked for it and sent it to her. I asked if the photo was good enough and the answer was yes.

And as the poster was finished, well... can you see the problem?

I asked why some of the Swisstubers' photos were not on the poster. The answer was, that for example the lighting on my photo allegedly was not good enough.

That's so typically Swisstubers. Why did she tell me the photo was good enough at first only for me to figure out later that she thought it wasn't good enough. She could have easily just told me and I would have organized a new photo.

And the be 100% real, the photo was just not that bad. It could have been used.

Instead, of being angry I took control over my own faith: I just took the finished picture and photoshopped myself into it.

And even crazier was the reaction of another Swisstuber whos' photo was also not put on the poster. She just decided to distance herself from this kindergarten and not attend the meet & greet.

Of course, the situation was weird, but I was kind of thankful that someone besides me was also voicing concerns about that type of catty behavior. It's simply not fair. Put every Swisstubers' photo on the poster or none. Everything else was inappropriate.

Number 5 is called the "London drama".

It all started with me being invited to the Youtube office in London (you may have seen my follow me around video about it). I was part of something called "Youtube Locals", where they invited a person from Germany, one from Austria and one from Switzerland, all Youtubers that in some way or form are helping their local Youtube communities and taking responsibility. And I got chosen as the Swiss person.

We did workshops and worked on how to push our local Youtube communities even further.

And what happened then made me not really enjoy my trip. Because a few Swisstubers were genuinely happy for me. But a handful of Swisstubers were just rageing why they were not chosen, they had more subscribers and blablabla... It's very simple: Because they never cared about the actual community and those people never helped organizing something.

I always poured my heart and soul (and a lot of time) into organizing stuff for the Swisstuber group. And I'm just not afraid anymore to stand here and say that I think I was the right one that got chosen back then. And if you think otherwise so be it.

I wanna say again, there were a few people that actually helped (for example Anna aka. MissImpulsiv). And it was not just drama all the time. We also had some great times in our Swisstubers group (for example the "Foxtrail" event).

But there were just so many moments where I felt left alone, backstabbed or surrounded by superficial people. But in the end my London trip turned out to be still awesome at least.

At number 6 we're talking about a former Swisstuber called "DasMarc".

After the whole London drama, I had enough and I stepped back a little bit. And Marc unofficially took over my duties, which I'm super thankful for. But I could literally watch how the exact same thing that happened to me now happened to him.

He organized a lot and many Swisstubers were still so unthankful.

It didn't matter who volunteered to organize the Swisstuber events, this group was so self-destructive and they often kind of bullied the organizers into not wanting to help them anymore.

"DasMarc" stopped being the unofficial organizer after a short period and he even completely stopped making Youtube videos.

And he and I are not the only ones. "Cielle Noire" was a Swisstuber that was into gaming and really helped a lot by organizing gaming related events for Swisstubers.

She helped, for example, bringing the Swisstubers to the "Fantasy Basel" were we collaborated with Nintendo Switzerland in one year.

And that should just not be taken for granted. And I and Stefy (Cielle Noire) saw, how almost half the Swisstubers came late to the Nintendo collaboration. And that's so unprofessional. And it was not even just five minutes. No, with some of them it was much more.

And just recently Stefy released a video on one of her channels saying that she probably stops doing Youtube videos. And in this video, she also says that she tried helping the Swisstubers community and it was just very difficult.

Storytime number 7 will be about the Swiss Youtuber called "Luca Collins".

I'm not sure if he still uploads on his Youtube channel. But he's coming from the same city as me.

He did not do anything wrong as far as I'm concerned but he plays a major role in this particular storytime.

It all started with the Swisstubers never wanting to add any people to their group, even though we always got a lot of request from other Swiss Youtubers of how they could join our group.

We just had our Whatsapp chat which included all our private phone numbers that we didn't just want to share with anyone. And I mean that's very logical to me.

Then several Swisstubers created the weirdest rules and criteria or guidelines of how we decide if someone can be a Swisstuber. And none of those methods worked.

And at that time I didn't even realize how weird it truly was. Because for me we were just a bunch of friends and you can not force people to be someones' friend.

Looking at it today I'm kind of shocked how excluding our group was within the Swiss Youtuber community.

SimiiLila told me that when she started doing Youtube videos, she got bullying comments from certain Swisstubers, saying that she should delete herself because she's not worthy of being in their group. And that's just so clearly where I draw the line. That's far beyond not being okay. And that's nothing I wanna stand for or being associated with.

And now back to Luca Collins. He asked so many times to be part of the Swisstubers and every time he asked the rules changed and there was just never a decision if the group wants to include him or not. And I had to bring up that topic so many times because at least Luca deserved an answer.

And one time I wrote in our Whatsapp chat (referring to another Swisstuber): "Hey (insert name here), you're in touch with Luca Collins the most out of everybody here. What's your opinion?

And for whatever reason, this Swisstuber felt so offended and like she was the reason for Luca not being part of our group (which btw is not true and never what I said). I just wanted someone besides myself to share their thoughts on the whole Luca Collins situation. But instead of a normal conversation, this turned into the craziest verbal attack I ever witnessed on Whatsapp.

I even remember the whole chat kind of splitting apart and half the people were on my side and have the people were on the other side opinion-wise.

And in the end, this Swisstuber never wanted to see me again. And (spoiler): A few weeks/months later suddenly she invited me to her birthday party. It was always just so weird how hateful this person can be in one second and the next she likes you again as nothing happened. And that's just mentally so frustrating as a "friend".

And please be careful with Whatsapp. You never know how the person you write to understands your text. Maybe you meant something like a normal question but for the other person, your text seemed really aggressive even if it may never was your intention to have it come off like that.

Anna (MissImpulsiv) made the decision the leave the old Whatsapp chat and created a new one where everybody allegedly could join and be a Swisstuber. And looking back at it now, I think she did the right thing back then.

And then Luca saw that suddenly there were so many new Swisstubers while he was still not part of it. So understandably he made a video where he told how disappointed he was with the Swisstubers group. From todays' point of view, I'm glad he made the video because it finally opened some Swisstubers' eyes to what was actually going on.

And there it started with the Swisstubers group having a bad reputation because they were perceived as being intolerant. And even though we started saying that everyone is now allowed to be a Swisstuber, that didn't help much.

The 8th storytime is still about being (or not being) part of the Swisstubers (the sequel).

So with that new Whatsapp chat (where allegedly everybody could join and be a Swisstuber), it balanced itself to be a chat with around 30 people.

And it didn't take very long for this new Swisstuber group to start to behave in the exact same manners as the old chat did. Suddenly they started not wanting to have any new people in our chat. And I can just shake my head over this whole situation.

And seeing that it's not surprising that the rest of the Swiss Youtube community didn't really like the Swisstuber group. There was even a hate blog about Swisstubers, that's how far it went.

Storytime number 9 tells the drama of an influencer movie premiere.

So we as Swisstubers got quite some collaboration requests from brands. And because usually several people got the same request, we shared them in our chat to see who else got the request.

And one day someone got a request to be part of an influencer movie premiere and asked if anyone wanted to join. I wrote in the chat that I would be very happy to join the event. But the Swisstuber that got the request told me it was "Ladies night". I apologized and wished everyone a great event.

And then I got PN from another Swisstuber giving me the email address of the movie premiere organizers. She told me I can ask, I mean they can only say no so there's nothing to lose. So I wrote them an email (with a little mistake). I told them that I'm part of the Swisstubers and I knew some friends that were invited and I was aware of the fact that it was Ladies night, but since I'm gay, I would still be in the category of the targeted audience.

And while the movie premiere organizers were super nice inviting me right away, the girls in our Whatsapp chat were super pissed about me allegedly destroying there ladies night. I can understand that it easily came off as victimizing my sexuality to get invited, but I just wanted to give a plausible reason. And also I needed to remind the girls that actually one of them advised me to write them and come, so it's a very twisted moral to be pissed now that I'm coming.

And I decided to not go with the girls but instead asking another Swisstuber that was not yet invited to come with me. And that's where a second drama within the drama happened.

So I talked to this Swisstuber about private stuff and her relationship status etc (she was someone that publically talked about her relationship in her videos sometimes). And she told me she just recently got to know someone new. But I had to promise her to not say anything to anyone. At the same time, I had another Swisstubers friend that kept an eye on her for quite some time.

So what I did is breaking my promise and told my friend about her getting to know someone new, because I felt so bad for him and I didn't want him to have false hope.

Little did I know that the person that this female Swisstuber got to know recently was actually my other Swisstuber friend. I hope you see the weird connection. And obviously, both of them were kind of pissed at me. And the problem is whatever I would have done, it would have been wrong. Not saying anything would have made me feel bad for him because I would have thought he would have false hope for her. And saying something I broke my word I gave her. It was such a weird situation I only could lose.

The last storytime is all about the "Web video award" in Switzerland.

The "Web video award CH" was the first award in Switzerland made for Swiss influencer/Youtuber/Instagramer etc. And it divided the Swisstubers into people that were invited as VIPs and people like me that were not invited. But that was not a problem for me, because I wasn't jealous since I still got a regular ticket thanks to another Swiss Youtuber.

But the event from the beginning on made some clumsy mistakes. For example, some people that were nominated got their nomination taken away for some unclear rules reasons, which made the events' reputation kind of bad.

The event itself was okay, the show was fine, but a bit cringy. And then there was the aftershow party. The VIP area was on like a second-floor balcony and we as regular guest were downstairs.

The weirdest thing about the whole event was that right after the show ended and the aftershow party started, there was no security anymore. They seemed to just go home early. And when we went to the cloakroom to get our jackets, the woman working there was right on her way out even though three-thirds of the jackets were still there.

And I said that all our friends are up there and we at least just wanna say bye before we go. All the security was gone. And the cloakroom woman looked at us saying like do whatever you want. And so we just went into the VIP area upstairs kind of illegally but with like a half-ass permission (tricky situation).

And we walked around in this VIP area, found our friends, said goodbye, so far so good. But then I heard someone behind me saying (analogously) "Ohh, now they're letting anybody get up here" (with an annoyed voice). And I thought that a stranger would have said that which would have been fine. But I saw that it was a Swisstuber aka. a person that I considered a friend.

And that was just such a knife in my back, the rudest thing that Swisstuber could have said. And I wish I would have stood up for myself earlier. That person was clearly not my friend. Because all my other friends were totally fine with me coming up there to say goodbye even though it was with a sketchy permission. And it just showed me that this Swisstuber actually thought she was something better than we are and that's really disgusting to me.

I was genuinely really hurt that night and I just had enough of that Swisstubers drama.

So, these were my 10 storytimes about the Swisstubers. At the end of it all, there's still so much drama I haven't even touched on because I was not part of it.

I wanna touch again on the fact that a lot of those stories dragged me down mentally for a long time. And I simply was afraid to speak up because I didn't want to lose my Swisstuber friends. But Youtube friends often for me are not necessarily real friends. And I'm now only in touch with my real friends (and some awesome Youtube friends that are not part of the Swisstubers) because these are the people that are not losing reality between the digital and analog world.

That said I again wanna ensure that this video is not meant to start any drama. I'm sure some of those (Ex-)Swisstuber people grew up and got more mature (as so did I). I tried to not mention any specific names in a negative way. However, I can not guarantee anonymity in case some of you figure out somehow who the stories refer to.

The main reason for this video was for me to close this chapter once and for all so I can move on with a new chapter. And honestly, I just need to clear the air that it was not automatically me that's responsible for all the drama at the Swisstubers. Every (EX-)Swisstuber took an equal part in having the drama happen the way it did.

For my part, I'm more than willing to apologize for my part in having the Swisstubers being so excluding. I would not do that these days.

But you all can see that if you take responsibility and help organizing a lot you automatically get backlash for something you not even necessarily did or were responsible for.

So what happens to the Swisstubers? As far as I'm concerned this group no longer exists and I stopped using the hashtag. For me, there's now only the big SwissYoutuber community that automatically includes everyone that makes videos.

I hope the new youtube generation can learn from our mistakes. And last but not least: The Swisstuber Meet & Greets which I helped to organize a lot are also put to rest as far as I'm concerned. I hope the "Tubecon" influencer event will establish itself as a good alternative. But if one of you wants to organize a new kind of Youtube meet & greets: Tell me. I would like to come. :)

Installing System Toilet in Boss Cat Room【Eng CC】 - Duration: 10:30.

Today's video is about this part of the Boss-Kichi king tower.

It is Boss-Kichi's mega toilet that he use from 7 months ago,

12th Yi Sun-sin Cup Int'l Yacht Race takes place in S. Korea's southern sea - Duration: 1:52.

The Yi Sun-sin Cup International Yacht Race was held off South Korea's southern coast.

The event is held to promote sports exchanges and honor the nation's legendary naval commander.

Yoon Jung-min takes us closer to the action.

Some 600 sailors from 10 Asian countries were in South Korea's southern city of Tongyeong

last week for the 12th Yi Sun-sin Cup International Yacht Race.

85 boats took part in the event between November 7th and November 11th.

It is one of the three biggest yachting competitions in Asia, following the China Cup and Thailand's

Kings Cup.

South Korean boat 'VIKIRA' came in first place, followed by Russian boat 'FIRST' and another

South Korean boat 'PODIUM'.

"I'm very happy to win this race for the second time following last year's championship.

Out team crew really did well and put in a lot of effort.

We took much care in this round as the wind was rather light."

"I came here to have a beautiful experience in Tongyeong and this area of Korea is gorgeous.

So I think it's a great opportunity not only to see more of Korea, but to have a chance

to sail with the Korean racers and sail with the international team."

The race is named after one of Korea's historical figures from the Joseon Dynasty, Admiral Yi

Sun-sin.

Yi won numerous battles against the Japanese navy during the Imjin War from 1592 to 1598.

The yacht races took place in three areas near the site of the Battle of Hansan, one

of Admiral Yi's famous victories.

The organizers said this year's competition would provide an opportunity to encourage

international sports exchanges as well as promoting the spirit of Yi Sun-sin.
