Mystery of Taiwan's Abandoned UFO Village - Duration: 18:35.

We've just arrived from Taipei off a bus.

We're about a half hour outside of the city right now

come to explore what's known here as the 'Abandoned UFO Village.'

Let me repeat: Abandoned UFO Village.

I have a lot more questions about this place than I have answers

but we're going to go inside and see what we can find.

It's already looking quite abandoned on the walk up here.

It's very abandoned feeling.

And we don't know where we're going to be totally honest but we're just winging it.

Gonna look for some abandoned-looking UFOs.

Ok, well, UFO sighted on the ground.

Can you see that yellow looking structure right ahead?

That's our first glimpse of the UFO village.

I am absolutely fascinated.

Like it's…we haven't even really got inside but just approaching it like it's…fascinating.

I'm kind of speechless to be honest because it really is totally untouched looking

and I'm not seeing really anyone else around.

And I…I don't understand how it's not really even on the map.

But it's here.

It's strange.

This, by the way, is supposed to be one of the most haunted places in Taiwan

if not the most haunted place in Taiwan so we will keep that in mind.

See if we find some ghosts.

Oh my god!

Ok so I stuck my head inside the window and just here that's the door.

As you can see, it looks like an airplane door which, I think, is how they're intended to be designed.

They go all the way wrapped around.

Wow.

Look at the old TV.

I just wanted to show you what underneath one of these UFOs, as we're calling them, looks like.

It's floating, just hovering there above the ground.

Looks like it used to be maybe a picnic table.

I don't even know where to start with this place because it's so cool and I'm just dying to keep exploring

but first I wanted to give you a little bit of background context

and tell you what I do know about the Abandoned UFO Village.

This crazy place has a bit of a mysterious background

and so what's believed is that this was intended to be a holiday resort by the water.

We're right on the water here.

You can see my hair is all full of salt water already within a few minutes.

It's a great surf spot and so this was a place to come to relax.

The construction started in 1978

and during the two years that it was being built - and there were people around -

a lot of weird things were happening

and so there were these inexplicable car accidents, there was at least one suicide that occurred

from, I believe, the construction workers who were spending a lot of time on this land.

And as far as I can tell and, again, it's shrouded in mystery -

there's not a lot of information about this - one day people just left.

So around 1980 this place was just a ghost town

and it has that kind of eerie feeling of a gold rush town that was just abandoned overnight.

And there's no information about why people left and why it's never been used again.

Ever.

I mean it's years, decades later and there's still nobody here.

I mean I think there are maybe some squatters living here now and then but

this place is totally abandoned.

The theories that I've heard about why it was abandoned

and why all of these bad things kept happening

is number one that this was a burial ground for Dutch soldiers.

70,000 Dutch soldiers.

Taiwan used to be a Dutch colony and so this is believed to be a burial ground

and the idea being that the spirits that were here didn't want this ground occupied,

especially by a holiday resort.

The other is that there used to be a ceremonial Chinese dragon near the entranceway to the build site

and the decision was made somewhere along the way to tear it down

to have easier access to the construction zone

and that, of course, brings very bad luck.

Dragons are a very important symbol in Chinese culture

and they represent good fortune and so to destroy one is seriously bad luck.

And so those are the two most likely theories that keep occurring when I'm looking up research.

But the most fascinating thing about this UFO Village

is that people can't seem to agree on whether it exists or not, including newspapers.

I have read so many sources telling me that this entire village was demolished in 2010

and that not a trace is left.

It looks like there's some left to me.

It looks like the entire thing is left.

So let's go look around more.

Here's an example of where I think people might actually be living as squatters

because the gate is closed

and it does not look like they want you to go inside there.

So maybe somebody's still living in this one.

As you're walking around, you can still see some places where there used to be a structure

and I don't know why it's not there anymore.

This one looks like it really did just vanish because most of the tiles on top there look to be intact.

But it looks like there was a house there.

This is the perfect spot in the village to show you the two different types of pod houses here.

They're both made by the same Finnish architect.

This one is more square in shape - they're called Venturo houses -

and then these ones are my absolute favourite.

They are called Futuro houses and they look like flying saucers

and when I was peeking my head inside the window of one

you can see that the furniture is specially designed and built to go inside

because it's hard to furnish a circular house.

It's not the kind of thing you can just go to Ikea for

and it really reminded me of Buckminster Fuller-style houses,

which are also circular and have that prefabricated design

and they're elevated off the ground and these Futuro houses, honestly,

the way they're sitting on the stilts,

it looks like a flying saucer could've very well just come down from the sky and rested there.

So as I'm walking along the street here

it looks like there were three UFO type houses here that were actually demolished.

And there's so much mystery around what's actually taken place here

but I think that they may have started to demolish these and had more problems and bad luck,

whatever you want to call it, and then just stopped.

And that's why this land has never been touched, it's never been redeveloped.

There was one plan at some point to build here again,

to redevelop the land as a beach resort again, from what I understand, and nobody will touch it.

Nobody.

So the door of this Futuro house is just blown right out and you can peek inside.

Some of the windows are blown out too.

So here's the living room, the old television there,

and then that was the kitchen there in the centre,

and then if I pan to the right, through there you can see there's a bedroom

and then on the other side is the bathroom.

I especially like this house behind me because it looks like whoever lives here now

built their current house around the UFO house

and it's kind of hard to tell from the front here that's facing the water,

but you get a little hint if you look at the second floor balcony

you can see that there's like curved windows.

But if you look at the back you can definitely see the butt end

of a UFO sticking out the back of this house.

It's a really good idea and what I find even more interesting about this place

is that if you look over here there's quite a large apartment building

and on the other side there's what looks to be a very large beach resort with people going in and out.

And this is very - I'm guessing - valuable property.

I mean this is prime real estate on the beach.

There's these beautiful, lush green hills on either side.

It's a prime surf location.

I mean that's why this beach resort was intended to be here in the first place, right?

And there's people living on either side but nobody has touched this land in the middle.

It's been decades.

And there were plans at some point, I believe, to redevelop this land and they were scrapped

and I just can't understand why people left in the first place

and then why nobody has built here since on this prime section of the beach in Taiwan.

I just…it's mindblowing.

I really don't understand and it's killing me that I can't figure it out and I can't find anyone to ask.

So I guess we'll never know.

Marc seems to think that a tree growing in the doorway is going to stop us.

You just go around the tree.

Oh man, it really is low.

Ooh aah I'm stuck.

This one's trashed.

A lot of these houses the insides are fairly well preserved but this one

has just been laid waste to.

I don't know if you can see in the middle there - right there, the yellow -

that is the door.

I'm currently standing in the doorway.

The door should be where I am, instead it's in the middle of the house,

and then just to the right of there if you look closely you can see the ground.

So the middle of the floor here has actually just fallen out.

What goes up, must come down.

Good luck.

Hey, that's pretty good.

Yeah, I got poked by the tree but nothing…nothing too bad.

It's so cool to see in that last house especially how the bottom has dropped out

and the trees just come in.

I mean this place has been abandoned since 1980.

The wind maybe has blown in the doors, the windows, and the trees just move right in.

This looks like another house where the trees just seem to be taking over.

I don't know where that drill sound is coming from.

I kind of want to go take a look but it looks… this one looks a little sketchy.

So the whole side of this house is gone.

Actually two sides.

This place has seen better days.

It's all collapsed.

Wow, yeah, the roof has just come right in.

There's the bathroom.

Not very private.

That is a bathtub with a view.

Somebody still lives in this house.

The mattress is out on the lawn but there's the closet, you can see the kitchen over there,

and the TV is on the sofa.

So we are finding out that this Abandoned UFO Village might not be so abandoned after all.

I don't know if you can see behind me the Volkswagen parked right by the flying saucer?

I just spoke to a man there and I said, 'Do you live here?'

and, you know, 'Do you sleep here?'

and he said yes and he's fixing it up and he let me take a peek inside

and he's got like paint cans and it looks like he's not only living there

but he's kind of fixing it up and it looks lovely inside.

So I guess this abandoned place…

I mean people are coming in and they aren't afraid about ghosts or a destroyed Chinese dragon

or 70,000 dead Dutch soldiers buried here possibly

and it's become this kind of little community.

So I've seen him there - I've only spoken to him -

but I did see a couple of other people who look like they were maybe residents here.

So it's kind of cool to see that it's not so abandoned after all.

It's really cool - and these chairs.

And there's like an old TV there, reminds me of the TV from my childhood.

You can see how the mattress looks pretty good until you look down and see the floor

and it looks like the bed frame has just disintegrated.

It's got those 1970s colours: oranges and greens.

This is the drawer in everyone's kitchen that you need to reorganize.

That is such a cool washer.

I'm glad to know that if I'm ever in a typhoon or something,

I'm probably safest on the toilet.

That makes me think of Jurassic Park.

Oh yeah!

Isn't there a scene where the dinosaur takes him off the…?

Yeah.

What if that happened here?

Let's just hope it wasn't a dinosaur that ripped the roof off that thing.

Yeah, it's perfectly framed.

We have been walking around this Abandoned UFO Village for hours

and I even though I still really don't understand the many mysteries about this place,

I actually think now that that's a big part of its charm.

And I can confirm that this place does exist.

No matter what you read, it is here.

It was not demolished and I've just had such a good time walking around here.

The episode begins where Stan working on the universe portal with 3 journals

He says after 30 years of searching "We" finally made it

He is worrying they will be endangered if anyone ever finds out about his secret project, especially Dipper and Mabel

The following morning, Stan is awakened by his alarm clock, having fallen asleep in the lab, and remembers the Mystery Shack's grand re-opening that day

Every one in town gives them a big welcome.

They throw a party to thank everyone for that big welcome

Soos spots a government vehicle, prompting Stan to close the gift shop

2 agents arrive and ask about the weird signal last night when Stan opened the portal.

Stan tries to steer them away but Dipper tells them about the journal and suggests they work together

Stan discredits his nephew and tells them to go away

Powers gives Dipper his card but confiscate Powers' card and tells Dipper to do "normal kid stuff.

Dipper doesn't give up. He and Wendy sneak into Stan's room to get the card.

Dipper has called the agents before Grunkle Stan interrupts

Dipper finally meets the agents and tells them everything

But they don't trust him, so he reads a incantation to summon zombies.

He doesn't know how bad it is.

Soos attempts to protect them but gets bitten almost immediately, becoming zombie-like himself

The party is destroyed

Stan saved the kids by defeating some zombies

They have to fall back to the roof.

He reveals that he has always known about the paranormal activity in Gravity Falls

but he was denying it to keep Dipper and Mabel out of danger.

Mabel notices that new text becomes visible under a black light which is written with invisible ink

The invisible text reveals that zombies can be defeated

by shattering their skulls with a three-part harmony

Mabel points out that a karaoke number is the perfect solution.

Although Dipper and Grunkle Stan think it is silly but they still have to do it

and of course, it works but not on Soos.

The following day, they have to use a lot of formaldehyde and cinnamon to cure Soos

End of Episode 1

The episode begins with Dipper over at Wendy's house watching a horror movie

Dipper says that the film is less scary after actually having fought zombies

Wendy receives a text from Robbie to her annoyance, and Dipper learns that Robbie is still not over Wendy

He is still wondering whether he should say to her or not.

If she says "yes", one day, he would be like Robbie.

If she says "No", he would lose her and the friendship

So he decides not to talk to her

He wants to hang out with her more,

So he asks Wendy to join the team to discover the author's whereabouts - a hiding spot under a tree.

There's a branch that resembles a lever

Wendy easily climbs up to it using her belt

As Dipper tries to think of a way to reach it

They descend the staircase but unfortunately, the room is full of traps.

Dipper reads the journal for a solution, and the team finally makes it out and proceeds to the next room.

Mabel goes to retrieve her brother's vest and finds a love letter he wrote to Wendy

She tells Dipper to confess and encourages him to show his true feelings

Dipper declines her request, and she pushes him into a room with Wendy.

She hopes that Dipper will tell Wendy about his feelings.

After a few attempts, Dipper decides to find another way out

to run away from the monster

An old man shows up

Dipper thinks he is the author and really admire him

Until he and Wendy finds out that he is the Shape Shifter

He transform into a man and tries to steal the journal from Dipper

Dipper gives the book to him before he shifts to the real form.

Wendy attacks the Shape Shifter

What Is the Shape of the Universe? - Duration: 3:47.

It's the kind of question that sort of breaks your brain when you even start to figure out

how to think about it: what shape is the universe?

No one can be sure; until we can step outside of the universe and walk around it somehow

-- we can't actually do that ever -- the best we can do is take what we know to model

the likeliest scenario.

The idea of the shape of the universe comes down to the key insight from General Relativity

that says mass warps space, and that objects moving through space have their paths curved.

Here's a simple way to think about it: imagine there's a bowling ball on a trampoline.

That's the sun warping space around it.

Now roll a marble past the bowling ball to mimic a planet in orbit.

From the marble's perspective it's rolling in a straight line, but we can see that its

path is curved by the bowling ball depressing the trampoline.

Now imagine that the universe is a giant trampoline covered in bowling-ball stars, medicine-ball

black holes, and little planet marbles.

This means that masses are warping space all over the place, and the combined force of

all that mass has the capacity to shape the universe.

So really, when we talk about the shape of the universe we're talking about the density

of the universe.

The simplest shape to get your head around is the flat universe, which isn't flat like

a two dimensional piece of paper, it's flat because it has no curvature.

This is the shape the universe would take if it has the exact amount of mass to stop

the universe expanding after an infinite time.

It will have no bounds and expand forever, slowing but never stopping.

If the universe contains more mass -- more than critical mass so enough to stop its expansion

— it will have a positive curvature.

In this scenario the universe is closed and looks a little like a sphere.

It would be finite but without a beginning or end.

Eventually, the mass will cause the universe to collapse back in on itself.

If, on the other extreme, the universe has insufficient mass to stop its expansion, it

will have no bounds and expand forever in an open shape sort of like a saddle.

So, which is it?

Well, current cosmological observations say the Universe should expand forever, so the

positive curvature isn't likely.

But, it also doesn't seem to have the right conditions for negative curvature.

Data from NASA's Wilkinson Microwave Anisotropy Probe mission of distant supernovae show that

the universe's rate of expansion is accelerating, but that rate is balanced by the mass of dark

matter.

In short, the Universe is likely ever so nearly flat.

But it's possible that's the observable universe.

Because the speed of light is a fixed value, we can only see 13.8 billion years back.

It's possible we just can't detect a complete curvature with the instruments we have, or

in ways that the laws of physics will allow.

So while we all know the Earth isn't flat… it looks like the universe almost is.

It's been almost FOUR YEARS since I started here, and I've loved every single episode!

Especially that awkward naked cold open and fun time with chimerism!

The Girls Who Played Emma On Friends Grew Up To Be Gorgeous - Duration: 4:04.

Ready to feel really, really old?

As of 2018, Friends has been off the air for 14 years.

That means Ross and Rachel's baby Emma isn't a baby anymore.

And the actresses who played her are 16 years old.

While Hollywood still keeps tabs on the rest of the Friends gang, Noelle and Cali Sheldon

have drifted into relative obscurity after starring as Emma.

Quite a feat, considering that Today reported that 15 million viewers tuned in for each

season of Friends, but in syndication, and streaming, the show draws 16 million weekly

viewers.

It's time we caught up with the artists formerly known as little Emma.

No precious memories

By the time Friends wrapped, Noelle and Cali weren't even two years old.

And while they know they starred in one of the most popular TV shows of all time, the

girls don't recall any of it.

Cali told Bustle,

"I don't remember anything about being on the show, but I've seen the pictures."

Thankfully, their mom, Gretchen Carpenter, remembers everything, telling the site,

"Everyone was really, really nice to Noelle and Cali, and treated them like little princesses

on the set.

Friends filmed before a live audience, and Cali and Noelle would come out, and they would

be waving and engaging with the live audience."

A rite of passage

Friends was an upbeat network sitcom, but it featured some pretty adult storylines.

The main characters were six 20-somethings living in New York City, after all.

And because of that, Carpenter didn't let her young girls watch the show.

At 12 years old, Noelle told Entertainment Tonight,

"We've seen one full episode, which was 'The One Where Rachel's Sister Babysits.'"

She explained the house rules on viewing episodes, saying,

"My mom said we can watch them when we're 13."

And Cali joked that when they hit the magic age:

"24 hour Friends marathon!"

Staying grounded in Tinseltown

As child actors living in Los Angeles, you might imagine it would be hard to stay grounded,

especially after starring on a show like Friends.

But Carpenter told Bustle,

"Our girls go to a normal school, and they go on auditions once in a while, but we don't

make it our top priority."

Cali filled the mag in on her career mindset, saying,

"I'm not very competitive because you usually don't get the roles, and if you do, it's cool,

but if you don't it's nothing to be sad about, because the person who got it is going to

do great."

Cali's big plans

Although the Sheldon twins started working much earlier than the rest of us, acting isn't

actually their end goal.

Cali told Bustle when she was just 12,

"First I want to go to UCLA and get a degree in biochemistry so I can become a chemist

and cure cancer."

But she doesn't stop there.

She said,

"Then I want to petition for women to be allowed into a football league."

And after that, she says she wants to go on to "write a book."

Noelle keeps it loose

While her sister has some big aspirations, Noelle has set her sights on something very

different, and perhaps inspired by her TV mom Rachel's job at Central Perk.

She told Bustle,

"I want to be a barista when I'm 18."

Taking her time to figure things out when she gets there, she admitted,

"I don't know what else after that."

They'll never forget Emma

Like all the characters of Friends, baby Emma is firmly cemented into pop culture.

While Noelle and Cali may not exactly remember playing the role of Ross and Rachel's child,

Emma will always be a part of their lives.

Some former child actors may wish to forget the parts that first made them famous, but

that's not the case for the Sheldon sisters.

Noelle shared a picture of the two sitting on the iconic Central Perk couch, captioning

the photo: "The one where Emma got cloned."

The girls also posed in front of the Central Perk sign, which Cali posted, writing: "Flashbacks

to '03."

Fans were excited to see baby Emma all grown up, times two, with one commenter posting,

"Now, my life is complete."

Air Fryer Fried Pork Chops - How To Cook Pork Chops In Airfryer - Duration: 5:33.

what's up everybody this is Lyle with no hippie barbecue what I'm coming

into it today is gonna be some rosemary Dijon air fryer pork chops we're gonna be getting

old school on it and new school old school we're gonna be knocking it out

with some of this shake n bake right here I haven't had any of this since I

was probably 12 years old and the new school listen we're gonna be knocking it

out in our magic chef air fryer link some description for that anyway this is

something that was kind of requested by my wife I haven't had pork chops in a

couple of years so it's gonna be a nice change of pace anyway come on in and

take a look at these few simple ingredients you need I have four

half-inch thick bone-in pork chops and as you can see I got a great value on

both of these air fried pork chops 448 boom we have some dried rosemary some dijon mustard

and this old-school shake n bake right here that's all we're gonna need what

I'm gonna do now is I'm gonna go ahead and get these pork chops rinsed off real

quick and then we'll come back start cooking so the first thing we're gonna

do is we're just going go ahead and spread some mustard on all sides of

these pork chops

okay that is a done deal now it's time to make the magic happen

you know my mom passed away when I was 12 which is around the last time that I

think I probably had something like this magnet guarantee the bag was bigger than

this so we're not going to be using these bags I was hoping I could

reminisce a little while but that ain't happen with these cheap bags so we're

gonna do this thing go ahead for our seasoning we're just gonna be rockin

like a regular bowl go ahead and add our rosemary you know what I need to glove

up again all right got gloved up let's go ahead and mix our seasoning in with

this shaking baby Rosalie all right now we're just gonna coat both sides of this

I will tell you it does leave a nice little coating on it I have to bring you

guys in to take a look at that all right guys tell me if that coating does not

look good right there now the instructions on the box say to cook this in our air fryer

for 450 degrees for 25 minutes I'm not sure an air fryer we need to be cooking

at that temperature I'm gonna go ahead and start this off at 370 for about 25

minutes and then we'll check on them at that point so let me go ahead and get my

air fryer heat it up and then we'll get cooking so now we have our air fryer

heated up and the reason I do that is so that the pork chops or whatever I'm

cooking in there doesn't stick to the bottom

now the shake-and-bake recipe did not call for any oil but I do have this oil

mister here and if it looks like it's getting a little dried out or dried out

I will go ahead and I hit him with some of this olive oil just go ahead and get

them in

and it looks like imma be good to go with three of these do one more later on

like I said we're going to be going 25 minutes go ahead and set our time link

temperature let's go at 370 you know let's go 380 let's go ahead and start it

up what they're looking like these bad boys are done I'm going to go ahead and

Mystery of Taiwan's Abandoned UFO Village - Duration: 18:35.

We've just arrived from Taipei off a bus.

We're about a half hour outside of the city right now

come to explore what's known here as the 'Abandoned UFO Village.'

Let me repeat: Abandoned UFO Village.

I have a lot more questions about this place than I have answers

but we're going to go inside and see what we can find.

It's already looking quite abandoned on the walk up here.

It's very abandoned feeling.

And we don't know where we're going to be totally honest but we're just winging it.

Gonna look for some abandoned-looking UFOs.

Ok, well, UFO sighted on the ground.

Can you see that yellow looking structure right ahead?

That's our first glimpse of the UFO village.

I am absolutely fascinated.

Like it's…we haven't even really got inside but just approaching it like it's…fascinating.

I'm kind of speechless to be honest because it really is totally untouched looking

and I'm not seeing really anyone else around.

And I…I don't understand how it's not really even on the map.

But it's here.

It's strange.

This, by the way, is supposed to be one of the most haunted places in Taiwan

if not the most haunted place in Taiwan so we will keep that in mind.

See if we find some ghosts.

Oh my god!

Ok so I stuck my head inside the window and just here that's the door.

As you can see, it looks like an airplane door which, I think, is how they're intended to be designed.

They go all the way wrapped around.

Wow.

Look at the old TV.

I just wanted to show you what underneath one of these UFOs, as we're calling them, looks like.

It's floating, just hovering there above the ground.

Looks like it used to be maybe a picnic table.

I don't even know where to start with this place because it's so cool and I'm just dying to keep exploring

but first I wanted to give you a little bit of background context

and tell you what I do know about the Abandoned UFO Village.

This crazy place has a bit of a mysterious background

and so what's believed is that this was intended to be a holiday resort by the water.

We're right on the water here.

You can see my hair is all full of salt water already within a few minutes.

It's a great surf spot and so this was a place to come to relax.

The construction started in 1978

and during the two years that it was being built - and there were people around -

a lot of weird things were happening

and so there were these inexplicable car accidents, there was at least one suicide that occurred

from, I believe, the construction workers who were spending a lot of time on this land.

And as far as I can tell and, again, it's shrouded in mystery -

there's not a lot of information about this - one day people just left.

So around 1980 this place was just a ghost town

and it has that kind of eerie feeling of a gold rush town that was just abandoned overnight.

And there's no information about why people left and why it's never been used again.

Ever.

I mean it's years, decades later and there's still nobody here.

I mean I think there are maybe some squatters living here now and then but

this place is totally abandoned.

The theories that I've heard about why it was abandoned

and why all of these bad things kept happening

is number one that this was a burial ground for Dutch soldiers.

70,000 Dutch soldiers.

Taiwan used to be a Dutch colony and so this is believed to be a burial ground

and the idea being that the spirits that were here didn't want this ground occupied,

especially by a holiday resort.

The other is that there used to be a ceremonial Chinese dragon near the entranceway to the build site

and the decision was made somewhere along the way to tear it down

to have easier access to the construction zone

and that, of course, brings very bad luck.

Dragons are a very important symbol in Chinese culture

and they represent good fortune and so to destroy one is seriously bad luck.

And so those are the two most likely theories that keep occurring when I'm looking up research.

But the most fascinating thing about this UFO Village

is that people can't seem to agree on whether it exists or not, including newspapers.

I have read so many sources telling me that this entire village was demolished in 2010

and that not a trace is left.

It looks like there's some left to me.

It looks like the entire thing is left.

So let's go look around more.

Here's an example of where I think people might actually be living as squatters

because the gate is closed

and it does not look like they want you to go inside there.

So maybe somebody's still living in this one.

As you're walking around, you can still see some places where there used to be a structure

and I don't know why it's not there anymore.

This one looks like it really did just vanish because most of the tiles on top there look to be intact.

But it looks like there was a house there.

This is the perfect spot in the village to show you the two different types of pod houses here.

They're both made by the same Finnish architect.

This one is more square in shape - they're called Venturo houses -

and then these ones are my absolute favourite.

They are called Futuro houses and they look like flying saucers

and when I was peeking my head inside the window of one

you can see that the furniture is specially designed and built to go inside

because it's hard to furnish a circular house.

It's not the kind of thing you can just go to Ikea for

and it really reminded me of Buckminster Fuller-style houses,

which are also circular and have that prefabricated design

and they're elevated off the ground and these Futuro houses, honestly,

the way they're sitting on the stilts,

it looks like a flying saucer could've very well just come down from the sky and rested there.

So as I'm walking along the street here

it looks like there were three UFO type houses here that were actually demolished.

And there's so much mystery around what's actually taken place here

but I think that they may have started to demolish these and had more problems and bad luck,

whatever you want to call it, and then just stopped.

And that's why this land has never been touched, it's never been redeveloped.

There was one plan at some point to build here again,

to redevelop the land as a beach resort again, from what I understand, and nobody will touch it.

Nobody.

So the door of this Futuro house is just blown right out and you can peek inside.

Some of the windows are blown out too.

So here's the living room, the old television there,

and then that was the kitchen there in the centre,

and then if I pan to the right, through there you can see there's a bedroom

and then on the other side is the bathroom.

I especially like this house behind me because it looks like whoever lives here now

built their current house around the UFO house

and it's kind of hard to tell from the front here that's facing the water,

but you get a little hint if you look at the second floor balcony

you can see that there's like curved windows.

But if you look at the back you can definitely see the butt end

of a UFO sticking out the back of this house.

It's a really good idea and what I find even more interesting about this place

is that if you look over here there's quite a large apartment building

and on the other side there's what looks to be a very large beach resort with people going in and out.

And this is very - I'm guessing - valuable property.

I mean this is prime real estate on the beach.

There's these beautiful, lush green hills on either side.

It's a prime surf location.

I mean that's why this beach resort was intended to be here in the first place, right?

And there's people living on either side but nobody has touched this land in the middle.

It's been decades.

And there were plans at some point, I believe, to redevelop this land and they were scrapped

and I just can't understand why people left in the first place

and then why nobody has built here since on this prime section of the beach in Taiwan.

I just…it's mindblowing.

I really don't understand and it's killing me that I can't figure it out and I can't find anyone to ask.

So I guess we'll never know.

A lot of these houses the insides are fairly well preserved but this one

has just been laid waste to.

I don't know if you can see in the middle there - right there, the yellow -

that is the door.

I'm currently standing in the doorway.

The door should be where I am, instead it's in the middle of the house,

and then just to the right of there if you look closely you can see the ground.

So the middle of the floor here has actually just fallen out.

What goes up, must come down.

It's so cool to see in that last house especially how the bottom has dropped out

and the trees just come in.

I mean this place has been abandoned since 1980.

The wind maybe has blown in the doors, the windows, and the trees just move right in.

This looks like another house where the trees just seem to be taking over.

I don't know where that drill sound is coming from.

I kind of want to go take a look but it looks… this one looks a little sketchy.

So the whole side of this house is gone.

Actually two sides.

This place has seen better days.

It's all collapsed.

Wow, yeah, the roof has just come right in.

There's the bathroom.

Not very private.

That is a bathtub with a view.

Somebody still lives in this house.

The mattress is out on the lawn but there's the closet, you can see the kitchen over there,

and the TV is on the sofa.

So we are finding out that this Abandoned UFO Village might not be so abandoned after all.

I don't know if you can see behind me the Volkswagen parked right by the flying saucer?

I just spoke to a man there and I said, 'Do you live here?'

and, you know, 'Do you sleep here?'

and he said yes and he's fixing it up and he let me take a peek inside

and he's got like paint cans and it looks like he's not only living there

but he's kind of fixing it up and it looks lovely inside.

So I guess this abandoned place…

I mean people are coming in and they aren't afraid about ghosts or a destroyed Chinese dragon

or 70,000 dead Dutch soldiers buried here possibly

and it's become this kind of little community.

So I've seen him there - I've only spoken to him -

but I did see a couple of other people who look like they were maybe residents here.

So it's kind of cool to see that it's not so abandoned after all.

Look at that cool sofa.

It's really cool - and these chairs.

And there's like an old TV there, reminds me of the TV from my childhood.

You can see how the mattress looks pretty good until you look down and see the floor

and it looks like the bed frame has just disintegrated.

It's got those 1970s colours: oranges and greens.

This is the drawer in everyone's kitchen that you need to reorganize.

That is such a cool washer.

I'm glad to know that if I'm ever in a typhoon or something,

I'm probably safest on the toilet.

That makes me think of Jurassic Park.

Oh yeah!

Isn't there a scene where the dinosaur takes him off the…?

Yeah.

What if that happened here?

Let's just hope it wasn't a dinosaur that ripped the roof off that thing.

Yeah, it's perfectly framed.

We have been walking around this Abandoned UFO Village for hours

and I even though I still really don't understand the many mysteries about this place,

I actually think now that that's a big part of its charm.

And I can confirm that this place does exist.

No matter what you read, it is here.

It was not demolished and I've just had such a good time walking around here.
