It's hard to pronounce in English.

I really like James McAvoy.

We say Je-im-s Mc-a-boy.

Totally different.

Korean doesn't have a V sound.

when I heard Scarlette Johanson in English for the first time

I was shocked.

We call it 'S-cahl-let Yo-hahn-son'

You need to say it in a Korean way in Korea

and pronounce it like English when speaking English.

There are a lot of words sound very different in English and Korean.

So I've been making videos about them.

Lots of people said Korean sounds closer to the original words.

No matter how close they sound

it's no good if people can't understand you.

It doesn't make a big difference.

You fail to communicate anyway.

we say Beh-r-sah-che

Can Italians understand it?

I don't think so.

 Arsenal managed to progress to the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup after defeating Blackpool 2-1 at the Emirates Stadium

 The Gunners went into half-time with a one goal advantage after Stephan Lichtsteiner notched his first goal for the club

 Emile Smith Rowe doubled Arsenal's lead five minutes after the break, but Unai Emery's side were down to 10 men shortly after when Matteo Guendouzi was given his second yellow card

 Paudie O'Connor managed to pull one back for the League One outfit but, after they too received a red card, Blackpool couldn't find an equaliser and so it was Arsenal who progressed

 Arsenal's reward for scraping through is a mouthwatering north London derby against Tottenham at the Emirates Stadium

 Petr Cech was given his first start in goal since suffering an injury against Watford in October

 But, he didn't make the most of his opportunity.   Cech has struggled since making the move across London from Chelsea in 2015

He's made numerous mistakes in his three year spell.  And he made another disastrous error against Blackpool

 Emery's tactics require his players to play out from the back, something that Cech has struggled with

 And he showed once again on Wednesday night just how shaky he looks having the ball at his feet

 With 20 minutes remaining and Arsenal hanging on to a 2-1 lead, Cech had the ball in his own box and being closed down by an opposition player

 But instead of passing the ball out, or clearing it, Cech tried to be clever and deceive the Blackpool player

 He succeeded, but then got tackled by a different Blackpool player.  Nathan Delfouneso then put the ball in the empty net but, fortunately for Cech, the goal was ruled out for offside

 Watch the moment below:  That is poor. Arsenal fans were not impressed and many have lost any confidence they had in the Czech goalkeeper

 Emery was asked about the moment after the game and he came to the defence of his goalkeeper

 "We need to play with the goalkeeper," he argued, per football.london.  "It's normal when the centre-back deals with the pressure from the opposition

 "I want to give them confidence, give them calm and it's true after today with this mistake the supporters also, as the ball is arriving to him, it is better to continuing him and other players confidence to continue our style and our idea on the game

VWAP Indicator Day Trading Strategy, Part 1 - Duration: 10:58.

look my friend by popular demand I'm doing a two-part series on the VWAP indicator strategy for day trading.

VWAP stands for volume weighted average price it is a

benchmark they can be very useful in your trading and what it essentially

means is that it is adding up the dollars traded for every transaction

multiplied by the number of shares trade it so it's incorporating volume you can

use this in place of moving averages it's commonly used in place of moving

averages and it the way that I look at it is kind of a fair value so what we

have here on this particular chart the way that I have it lined up here this

black line that's actually the volume weighted average price so by

incorporating volume into it you can see that it's not only an average of price

but again the energy the volume the weight of the price action and so I

consider it kind of a neutral zone that is the neutral zone that's why I use the

term the fair value although that's not how it's technically defined but to me

it kind of makes sense fair value so when the market comes back to that line

as it does here then that is kind of a in neutral zone

whoops do it that way and kind of equivalent in other words it's not the

same but it has the similar concept me of a pivot point or the central pivot if

you like to use flirter pivots where there would be a balancing point and

anything below that would be bearish anything above it would be bullish so

the same thing here you could consider it in that same sort of contact that

same sort of concept anything above it bullish anything below it bearish now

let me bring up the indicator and show you how I've got it set up on my charts

I know everybody likes to see that as well you should

so here's how I've got it set up and depending on the charting platform you

use there may be different different parameters here and so forth that you

use but anyway I'll just show you mine so this is a ninja trader and bla bla

okay so now as you'll notice I have ninja trader a lot of people don't use

this for some reason I'm actually very surprised by this but a lot of people

don't use the standard deviations above and below it they just use the line

itself and I'll pull this up so here actually you can see the definition be

what's the ratio of the value traded to total volume traded over a particular

time horizon usually one-day measure of the average price of a stock traded at

over the trading horizon okay so there's your little definition for you and so

I've got three standard deviations here 1 2 and 3 are the multipliers but

whatever colors you want in there and so forth okay we'll talk about this more in

part 2 actually we'll talk about it a little bit in part 1 as well so in part

1 here yeah I'm probably one we're going to talk mostly about trend trading so as

you can see it's going to form these Alliance because I've got the 3 standard

deviations the black line that is our actual volume weighted average price so

again that is kind of our line in the sand if you will between a bull and bear

market using this indicator so cool we go we started out above it by the way

notice that they always start out the lines always start out together and that

just makes sense because it's gonna be recalculated at the beginning of every

day so it's really important by the way and the technical issue that you have it

loaded before the market starts every day have your charts live not quite as

accurate typically if you put it on later like if you come in in the

afternoon and then you load it up best to have it loaded up right at the open

ready to go because it does calculate on every bar and it's a cumulative

calculation so at the beginning all your lines are going to be very close

together actually start hold together and then the you're

going to get this expansion typically at the very beginning so one way of trading

this if you're looking for a trend trade is to look for the view have to be going

up and price to be above it and retrace to it hold above and then continue up

now what I really like to see for me the best case scenario is it for it to stay

in this standard deviation range here just like it does right now so to me

that is a nothing but net trend so to say to use a basketball analogy and

because why it's not coming back to the volume weighted average price if it does

it's coming back to neutral all of a sudden the markets come back to a

neutral sentiment and if you want a continuous trend well you don't want it

to come back to neutral then you've kind of lost your your

trending now some people still do that and use it as a support level or

resistance for bearish markets and that's okay if you use other things

along with it candlestick patterns some indicators you like or whatever it can

be used that way as well I'm just saying that for me in my house when we're

looking for a sustainable trend I feel much more confident if it stays between

these standard deviations up here does do that all the time oh heck no why

because well not every day does the market go into a sustainable trend so

that's like your textbook best example and I like to start out there just so

you have that in mind but let's look at real life okay so a lot of trading days

are gonna be like this but this is valuable to know as well because now

what do we have so now we have a flat V wealth line alright let's just flap and

so what and then also we have price bars above it below it above below above

below so that again indicates a non trending market that the markets just

hovering around the same value weighted average price and therefore we don't

have a training market well guess what that's good to know as well would I

trade that no I probably wouldn't trade it but I would see that and say oh hey

one of the most valuable things I'm trading is to know when

not to trade I just went to trade also you should learn when not to trade to

stay out of choppy markets that's extremely valuable and so well this is

Amazon five minute chart so then what does go look at a different market find

one that is trending so again whether you want to do scanning or just you have

your basket of stocks that you're looking at this would be a great example

of one to say oh okay you know what nothing happened in here I think that

maybe I'll just go look at a different market and find one that is trending

very valuable now here's one more example and what I wanted to demonstrate

on this it's kind of a combination of the two things that we looked at before

so here out of the day we come out of the open and we go down and we retrace

now here look we retrace not all the way back to the B whap line and this

actually is even better because it's showing that we haven't gone back to

neutral we're staying in bearish territory and so this is a place where

we could short use a good timing indicator or candlestick patterns

whatever in conjunction with this you never use this or any other one tool or

indication alone but this is a great way to kind of map the market to know where

we are as far as bullish bearish sentiment so it's held this now look at

this okay close down a little bit very cool so so far looking good if we went

short there but then what happens well then we just go sideways for quite a

while and that is quite a while I mean golly that's almost what two hours

pretty close to two hours and so this is where things can get very disconcerting

where you can get very uncomfortable because you think oh the markets just

going sideways and of course you're right it is going sideways however we

were still in bearish territory still in bearish territory therefore if you have

taken that short I might want to take some profits like some profits in there

or a gesture risk profile and do your money management technique but the fact

is that if we're gonna break out we're looking to Bri

down and things have not reversed in other words just because the markets

going sideways we are not in a bullish market here we were still in a bearish

market so if it fits the rest of your trading style and you want to hang in

with some shares there and then go and see if you can get more out of it

then this definitely worked out well for you we got a beautiful candlestick

pattern and then BOOM in the afternoon the last two hours of the trading day

the thing just tanks for the last hour and a half or so and so this can help

you to stay patient and let your winners run fulfilling the the famous saying cut

your losses short and let your winners run another way of not getting freaked

out during neutral parts of market action and still having a I hate to use

the word bias but an established sentiment based on the logic and a

rule-based method so we're gonna have part 2 after this / - will be very

different / - we're not going to talk about trend trading today was about

Can I Use _____ Sampler To Make Boom Bap? - Duration: 6:18.

What is going on continuing on our last video about the process of making music

in general in this video we're going to address the question of and this is in

quotes can I use blank sampler to make boom-bap hip-hop if you feel that the

sampler you have or the sampler that you like isn't typically used for hip-hop

and you're wondering can you use this or do you need a specific brand of sampler

to make hip-hop this videos for you but first I'd like to invite you to like

share and subscribe to our channel and with that let's get to it

alright the reality is there are definitely samplers that are popular in

the history of hip-hop production and in current boom bap hip hop production and

those are typically used to make the music they're used by a vast amount of

producers co-signed by people all over the world

and have become part of hip-hop culture in themselves as instruments and what's

also a reality is that any sampler can be used to make boom bap hip hop over

the years I've been continuously shocked by finding out what samplers were used

to make some of my favorite classic hip hop songs and while some of them were

the typical samples that we know the majority of them were obscure unpopular

samplers used to make some of the most iconic hip hop we have to date in hip

hop music

so now the question is how did we get to this point where we feel that we need a

specific type of sampler to make hip-hop and in thinking back about it there is a

reason for this and while it's not the only reason it definitely is a major

reason whether you're a beginner in the hip hop production game or a veteran we

have all gotten the talk what's the talk the talk goes something like this you

start off in the production game and you've got your hands on a sampler a

sampler that you like and eventually you run into somebody else that makes

hip-hop music as well and the two of you get to talking and of course you end up

talking about gear and they say hey what are you using and you say well I'm just

using sampler XYZ and they say what sampler XYZ no you need to get sampler

MPC or sampler SP 1200 or machine or dig attack or SP for or for any of the

popular samplers and they proceeded to list the many names of everyone that you

admire that use the sampler that they're talking about which makes you feel like

the sampler you have is all wrong for boom-bap music so you either put that

sampler aside which of course halts your whole process of music making and run

out to the store and get that recommended sampler that you have to

learn from scratch and because of that you've now accepted the mindset that you

need a recommended sampler to make boom-bap music and make no mistake I've

gotten the talk and I've definitely given a lot of people to talk and over

time I've realized that it's best to let everyone use the equipment that they

have and the equipment that they like the best results will always come from

that

so how did the classic machines that we Revere get popular in the first place

but all instruments that do something very well and efficiently become popular

and they have staying power beyond their years because of those qualities

so take the SB 1214 technology at its time there was no better drum machine

that could sample and sequence and be relatively affordable during its time it

was light easy to carry around from Studio to studio and although it was

made in 1987 the SB 1200 was built off the reputation of the SB 12 which was

made in 1985 so it was an upgrade that was embraced

by the hip-hop community for all the reasons listed above and during those

years as hip-hop music grew and become more commercial and people actually

started mentioning the SP 1200 in songs which even further boosted its

popularity among inspiring musicians and inspiring producers the SB 1272

by 1988 when the MPC 60 rolled around it had to break into the market to gain its

place even though it was a superior machine to the SB 1200 and so these two

drum machines became the most popular even though at that very same time

classic records were being made with other samplers so popularity and general

acceptance by the hip-hop community has a huge role to play in how we think

about other machines in relation to the tried and true samplers that we know so

let's move on to the truth the absolute truth is you can make

boom-bap hip-hop with any sampler and more than that you can make hip-hop with

anything that makes noise anything within your grasp that you can produce

sound with can be used to make hip-hop a stick a tire a table beatboxing a

turntable clapping anything that can produce sound and can be recorded can be

used to make hip-hop so if you are now starting out in hip-hop or you've been

involved in other genres of music and have an interest in starting to make

hip-hop always remember out of all the genres of music we have today hip-hop is

very versatile anything goes as long as the end product is great and the best

thing that you can do to make great hip-hop is to use the machines that you

like whatever machine calls out to you and gravitates towards you the most

that's the machine that you're supposed to be using because it's gonna assist

you in translating your musical thoughts as accurately as possible to the

listener and at the end of the day we always have to remember that hip-hop did

not start with the sampler and it most definitely won't end with the sampler

it's a very freeform genre similar to jazz in that the end result is far more

important in the process anyway thank you for watching if you

Key to Success in the China Market - Duration: 2:54.

I'm sure there are companies that come in on overnight successes.

But I'm not aware of any of them.

We think of China as the China market, but it's not.

It's many different markets.

There's a north, there's a coastal, there's a south, and there's a west.

The offices of the Trade Commissioner Service across China are an excellent way to understand

the local market.

It takes time to build the relationships to understand the market, to figure out your

strategy, and then being able to push that out and stick to it.

So persistence is really the key; also, not being over-confident; a willingness to learn

from others, what they've done, even in other sectors.

I do remember years ago there was a story of an Asian firm that was negotiating a partnership

with a U.S. firm.

In the middle of the negotiation, the U.S. firm sued the potential Asian partner in a

U.S. court, which was normal business practice in the U.S., but was found a bit unusual from

the Asian firm's perspective.

It's a different business culture.

The culture element is important, but I personally think it's less weighty than it was when

you were dealing on a more institutionalised basis with the government of China.

The private sector is moving so quickly, the drive to a consumer society is really evident

with each visit that I come back for.

If you're interested in China and you come and want to pursue it, the organisation that

I'm the president of, the Canada China Business Council, which has been around for 40 years,

membership in my organisation helps you share stories with over 300 like-minded Canadian

companies who are active in the China business.

I don't find it much different than doing business elsewhere in countries I've worked,

Indonesia, or Spain, or Canada in my career.

Ultimately it's the trust in the person across the table, whether it's internally

in your organisation or in your partnership abroad.

Because when there's a bump in the road, you need to know the person at the other end

is aligning with your interests and is trying to solve the problem in the same way.

So the people aspect is absolutely critical.

Bottom line, lots of opportunities, and there are lots of ways to mitigate the risks and

take advantage of what is the world's fastest growing middle class.

Using the Passive Voice - Duration: 7:20.

This Everyday Grammar is all about the passive voice.

The passive is a verb form in which the subject receives the action of the verb.

For example, "I was born on a Saturday."

Most sentences in English follow the subject-verb-object pattern known as the active voice.

For example, "I love you."

In this example the subject is "I," the verb is "love" and the object is "you."

The subject performs the action of the verb.

But sometimes the subject is acted upon, or receives the action of the verb.

This is called the passive voice.

Imagine that someone stole your wallet, but you do not know who did it.

You could say, "My wallet was stolen."

In this passive sentence, "my wallet" is the subject, "was stolen" is the verb.

There is no direct object -- the wallet did not steal itself.

The speaker does not know who stole the wallet.

To form the passive, use a form of the verb "be" followed by a past participle verb form.

You can form the passive in several verb tenses, but the simple present and simple past are

the most common.

Only transitive verbs can be passive.

Intransitive verbs, or verbs that cannot take a direct object, cannot be passive.

You cannot say "I was arrived by train" because the intransitive verb arrive cannot be followed

by an object.

Most of the time, users should avoid the passive voice.

The passive voice can make the speaker or writer seem indirect and weak.

Which would you rather hear: "I love you" (active voice) or "You are loved by me" (passive

voice)?

But there are several situations when you should use the passive.

The most common reason to use the passive is when the actor is unknown or unimportant.

For example, "My visa was processed," and "My shoes were made in India" and "The car

was imported from Germany."

In these examples, it is not necessary to know exactly who performed the action.

Sometimes speakers use the passive even when they know the person who did the action.

In this case, use the word by followed by the actor.

For example, "Great Expectations was written by Charles Dickens."

You could also use the active voice: "Charles Dickens wrote Great Expectations."

Both are correct.

The passive voice emphasizes the book; the active voice emphasizes the writer.

In informal speech, the verb "be" can be replaced with the verb "get."

For example, instead of saying "I was hit by a car," you can say, "I got hit by a car."

Listen to this famous song by the Eurythmics.

You will hear two active and two passive sentences.

Some of them want to use you Some of them want to get used by you

Some of them want to abuse you Some of them want to be abused

Notice how singer Annie Lennox used the passive with both "get" and "be."

Another reason to use the passive is to avoid naming the person who performed an action.

This is common in politics and law.

At times, powerful people want to admit to a mistake without blaming specific people.

In this case, they often use the passive phrase "mistakes were made."

Listen to a TV interview with President Obama.

A reporter asked the president about a report of abuses by the Central Intelligence Agency.

Here is how President Obama replied: "Any fair-minded person looking at this would

say that some terrible mistakes were made."

And here is President George W. Bush using the same phrase.

A reporter asked him about the firing of some prosecutors.

"And he's right, mistakes were made.

And I'm frankly not happy about them."

You might hear the passive voice in a courtroom.

For legal reasons, sometimes lawyers have to use the passive voice to avoid directly

blaming a suspect for a crime.

Listen to this courtroom dialog from a popular TV drama The Good Wife.

A prosecutor is accusing a person of killing a man named Wagner.

Prosecutor: And how did he kill Wagner?

Defense attorney: Objection!

Prosecutor: Withdrawn.

How was Wagner killed?

Did you notice how the prosecutor switched his question from the active to the passive

voice?

Listen one more time.

Prosecutor: And how did he kill Wagner?

Defense attorney: Objection!

Prosecutor: Withdrawn.

How was Wagner killed?

At the beginning of the clip, the prosecutor asked, "How did he kill Wagner?"

The defense attorney objected to the question.

The prosecutor rephrased the question in the passive voice to avoid blaming the suspect.

He asked, "How was Wagner killed?"

Overusing the passive voice is major problem in student writing, even for native speakers.

Try to keep your passive sentences under 10 percent of your total.

Try converting some of your long sentences into simple subject-verb-object sentences.
